I’d bet money there will be people acting in ways trying to get other people to disconnect. Its a very toxic community.
-
Record some gameplay. Send it private if you want. Need to take a look to see where you need to improve.
For a lot of killers its just knowing when to break chase and how to run loops.
-
Agreed, The Ghostface mains would never have it though. Then they might actually have to pressure survivors rather than sitting around hooks.

of WHY this sort of DC banning stuff should NOT be implemented. At least until ALL issues ARE appropriately addressed. Yes, this was sent OVER to the customer service reps AT BEHAVIOR. Back when this occurred.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/655/5VKXHA6DFQZ8.jpg
Occurrence: January 28th. 5:56pm Year: 2020.
This person BLOCKED the player into a corner and they would NOT let the other person leave. Check the server logs. The player in the blue shirt had crows above their heads.
What made this type of behavior WORSE IS. The killer wouldn't even bother downing them. This is the storm to come. This is what we call "penalty baiting or penalty entrapment ".
Yup, I'm not gonna lie I've disconnected a few times due to this. Had a 2 man swf block me against a wall a few days back too. Why? who knows.
Nothing gets done. Not unless you want to be bothered recording a video and doing a lengthy upload to youtube and submitting a report ticket everytime.
It's just a very toxic community.
Worst part is as you say some killers won't even do anything because they don't care It's just extra people off gens for them. This is why the whole "just seek out the killer and get hooked" like doesn't work because half the time they will just slug.

I literally highlighted in a post that took me an hour to write that Clown is THE WEAKEST killer in the game, highlighting every single problem.
And you reply with this.
Get off my thread. You do not want to contribute to the conversation and you are not wanted here.
They say the devs hate killers and yet they tolerate them and permit them to just enter threads like this, not read a single part of your post and then start screaming about something you never even typed.

I think the sarcasm in my post went right over your head. Not surprised though. You came in here looking for bias.
I'll spell it out for you then... NOBODY should have been forced to disconnect in this video. Not the killer nor the survivor.

I am suggesting that the Devs look into temporarily "buffing" the losing side during a trial.
KILLERS: For each generator repaired, the Killer should get a TBD percentage increase for movement and percentage reduction for attack cooldown. This temporary buff is reduced by a percentage for each Survivor closer to being sacrificed.
SURVIVORS: For each hooked Survivor, the Survivors should get a TBD percentage generator repair speed increase and healing speed increase. The increase is reduced for each generator repaired.
In my opinion, this would help with the "hopelessness" that both sides feel if they are being curb-stomped.
TL;DR
Basically, a "Fire Up" base-kit for both sides.
Killers have NOED for that.
To a lesser degree survivors have Adrenaline if they think they can get the gens done.
-
Just give him instadown bottles as basekit.
Once you hit a survivor you don't have long before the exposed effect wears off so you need to be very close to hit them. It's also quite hard to land them as most survivors will wiggle and shake about. If you miss too many times then he needs to reload.
I don't see why walking close behind a survivor and being able to instadown if he hit's a survivor trying to 360 like crazy would be any different to the most balanced killer on the roster, good old Billy.

@Doomspooge said:
Um, how did EGC not kill you?
It's not my video, but this bug is a known bug. It was still there last time we had the disconnect penalty trial which was months back.
The survivor gets stuck in that animation and even EGC doesn't end the game.
It literally becomes a disconnect standoff between the killer and survivor.
They said they wouldn't implement this until things were fixed and yet we had videos of this same scenario months ago.
Pretty bad job so far.

There punishments? Where?
edited it before your troll attempt was even posted 😉
-
Kind of true. When the tbagging survivor messes up at a loop and gets hit then you hear the satisfying sound of the disconnect and see their lifeless body hit the floor.
Or the killer who tunneled all game, then sees his NOED totem blow up and the game cuts to the end screen.
Those were satisfying moments.

We weren't given a closing date, so until further notice we can probably assume it's permanent.
I doubt the devs ever actually said anything like that, although it's possible that some random player(s) might have reported them as having said it. They definitely didn't say anything to that effect on any of their recent streams.
One of them definitely said it. I'm sure it was Peanits on his stream.
I'd like to know the reset time. Steam is about to go down soon no idea exactly when though. If I play and I get kicked there's disconnect 1, tomorrow I might get infinite load screen there's 2.
I guess what I'm wondering is would that extend it? say you have 1 dc now, 1 in 22 hours time....does it need a full 24 hour period with no disconnects before it resets?
Basically it makes me not want to turn the game on tonight until these kind of questions are answered.

I find Blood Echoes is the perk that gets them to cleanse over anything else. They despise having their Exhaustion perks taken away. Most still won't cleanse over just Thanata.
Yeah thana seems pointless. It only works on gens and heals. Not even gates, chests or totems.
Survivors don't need to heal against Plague.
That means all you get out of it is around 12 seconds per gen. 2 survivors healing each other takes 16 seconds, that's 32 charges wasted. Thana doesn't even come close to making up for that loss.
That's why I switched to monitor and blood echo. Get up close, no free pallet because no dead hard. The constant short chases builds up the pressure to keep them off gens. Then Pop for gen control.

I just got out of my meetings and have been asked that a grand total of one time since then, and have also answered that person. Rank update errors should not count since they occur after the match. If they are counting, please let us know (and send us a clip if you can). We have a kill switch ready just in case something like that happens.
So is this permanent now? or is it another test?
I'm sure you said on stream it wouldn't be in the game until everything was fixed, or maybe somebody else from BHVR said it but there's still a lot of things not fixed lol

I play on PC. Happened on my old PC and my new PC. Sucks.

Exactly.
It’s not always advantageous to Plague when survivors cleanse. It’s totally situational. The longer someone plays Plague, the more they realise this, and the more they come to learn that it requires real sensible strategy to get the most out of CP if it’s activated.
Ssh, don't let the survivors know that!
But really my build is built around them not cleansing. I might swap blood echoes for infectious, so if they do cleanse I'll get more mileage out of corrupt.
But then a part of me feels it's losing their exhaustion perks that sometimes contributes to them wanting to cleanse.

Peanits said that infinite load screens shouldn't result in the DC ban since they're happening before the match starts. If you're seeing it, please get a clip and report it to the devs.
Well at least that's something.
Sure it can be abused (map offerings, moris etc) but it's better to let the bad apples go than punish the innocent.

I sometimes get a micro stutter than a miss. It feels like it's the micro stutter that causes the miss, but I'm guessing it's more technical than that. It's like the game freezes while the auto-aim (or however you want to describe it) thinks about whether its a hit or not, causes the micro-stutter and then says "nope not a hit".
-
He has none of the restrictions on his instadown or speed that other killers have. He's the only one to have unlimited power and speed.
If he's the "mOsT bAlAnCeD kIlLeR" then something is amiss because no other killers have been made like him and they treated Leatherface's chainsaw completely different.
-
He wins. How can you complain when the killer wins?
If the killer is able to destroy 4 surviors in a few minutes then how can you justify the gens being longer? so he wins with 3 gens standing rather than 1? Many killers still have NOED to rely on after that.
Tru3 says its nothing to do with Trapper but that's BS. If he wasn't using Trapper he wouldn't have spent time walking around setting traps. If he chose Billy or Wraith he would have been on top of them within the first 30 seconds.

If I don't like the match when I play survivor, I can just suicide. Woohoo, I'm outta there!
If I don't like the match as killer, I can't just leave; I'm stuck there until the match is finished. So, I go wait at the exit gate or something. Then all four survivors are stuck playing a gen repair sim. Not that afk'ing changes my matches that much; I usually just run around and throw bottles at survivors, so it's a gen repair sim with coughing.
As a survivor, I keep going up against rank 20 killers who get annihilated by rank 16 solo survivors. I feel bad for those killers. They shouldn't be going up against players with experience. They get no choice in terms of the ranks they go up against; I damn well don't want to take away their ability to choose their lobby.
And as a survivor, I still have some choice. I see a lobby with three Claudettes, I'm leaving and looking for a new lobby. Tired of getting tunneled out quickly because I'm the only survivor the killer can actually see.
You suiciding on hook depends on the killer hooking you in the first place and not being pulled off or kobe'ing.
Many killers will slug just for fun.

Flooded? I am not new to the forums. I am not saying it doesn't happen, but it happens infrequently enough that the 5 minute penalty you get is not going to turn into a 60 minute one and therefore is a mute point.
But WHY should someone have a 5 minute ban due to something that isn't their fault?
You could have 3 gamebreaking bugs/infinite loading screens/server issues in a 24 hour period easily.
I admit the gamebreaking bugs rarely happens to me but the infinite load screen sure as hell does.

I mean, if you want to keep pretending that is the reason for the majority of DCs then go ahead. It's not reality though.
Nobody said it was the reason for the majority.
Why should someone have to sit on the naughty step for 5 minutes just because the developers are unable to create a stable game?
Wait until you’re stuck in a pallet unable to move or caught in a basement bug unable to see.
Players should not be punished for developer incompetence.

That is extremely disappointing honestly. Not nearly harsh enough.
Yes being giving a 5 minute ban for no fault of your own due to an issue that has plagued the game since 2016 (infinite load screen) is far too weak.
We should make it 24 hours. People need to be punished harder for trying to play the game dammit!

Why don’t you stop trying to be toxic and attempt to troll me all the time?
Are you still hurt about yesterday? I mean it was a forum debate. Let it go, it’s not that important yet here you are pestering for attention in every thread.
-
Anyone defending lobby dodging really shows their true colours.
Survivors get iri heads, NOED and an ebony and a toxic killer and its “suck it up” you can’t leave.
Killer sees a few cosmetics they dont like the look of and its ok to lobby dodge.
So basically killers get to select what they go against but survivors don’t.
-
Yup. Expect this to increase.
I’d say record the Ghostface players that slug and tbag until bleedout but apparently that’s a perfectly fine and legitimate way to play the game according to the people in Canada. Must be how they do things up there.
-
@Muntcuffinz said:
I think the DC penalty is great. I can't count the number of times I've depipped as killer with a "4k" because someone decided to DC
They will just give up on 1st hook and you will still de-pip if red rank.
I like how it was disconnects that needed fixing....as if 4 people being so tilted they quit the game was somehow acceptable for a depip. The devs were too ######### stingy with the disconnect bonus points.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Here's a very solid, good reason why DC penalties cannot be a thing quite yet.
https://clips.twitch.tv/CovertAmusedWoodpeckerHeyGuys
Fix bugs like this before implementing penalties.
That person SHOULD NOT be penalized because of a bug with the game.
This is the best part.
We’ve had hatch standoffs before but now get ready for dc standoffs.
With that bug the game literally wont end. Not even by EGC.
Who disconnects first? The killer or the survivor?
At least before it was a 1 minute penalty. Now its 5 minutes.
This wont kill the game though oh no lol
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1084115#Comment_1084115
See? Called it lol.
And you can't, they claim to punish/ban for that.
You didn’t call anything. The killer can make the game far less enjoyable for survivors than the other way around, just pick Ghostface, then tbag until bleedout for example and the survivors have to sit and do nothing for 4 minutes.
They dont ban for afk wraith unless someone submits a report and video evidence.....which nobody does because nobody cares.
Also you get trolled as survivor by other survivors, killers that remember you from previous games and mori spam. As survivor you’re expected to sit and watch while all this trolling goes on.
Killer has the option to do something in every situation. If someone is being toxic you just tunnel the living daylights out of them if you wanted to make them miserable.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think the first DC should be seconds honestly, the fact that now when I play with friends if someone gets an infinite loading screen we all have to wait five minutes to even go into queue only to wait another 15 is just ****Ing ridiculous.
Lol 5 minute ban on first disconnect.
Bugs, crashes and server issues still counting as disconnects.
R.I.P DBD. Expect the community to disappear.

@[Deleted User] said:
They should have fixed the matchmaker first.
Tbh I don't think these DC punishments are very fair to killer, as they won't discourage punishing people with DCs since they are so light and won't have to DC to do that very often, they can just hook suicide to get out of a game other times. They have full control still.
Killers are just stuck in an unpleasant match all game, they can't DC, they can't AFK, they can't forfeit and die on a hook, but when it's a rank 14 going against a full sweat red rank SWF they should be allowed to just afk or let them go, at least until matchmaking/ranking is fixed it's only fair.
Oh please. It’s FAR worse for survivors.
Killers are in control. They can make the game really unfun for survivors if they want.
-
@Mert_MK said:
Nothing will be fixed.
Survivors will kill themselves on hook instead or go afk, same with Killers.
Both sides are gonna try their hardest to make the match unfun for the other side. While penalties were active, my friend got slugged and teabagged by a Pig until he bleed out, killer even admit he did that because he's aware he can't dc without a penalty now.
And when i played Killer i had a SWF last second switch to toolboxes and bring a Strode Key.
Should have looked into why people DC in the first place and fix the ######### game. This is going to kill the game.
100% agree. That’s exactly what I predicted, that toxicity would rise because people can’t dc anymore.
I fully agree it will hurt the game. Other games with dc penalties don’t have half of the issues that DBD has.
-
I believe this will only end up hurting the game in the longrun rather than helping it.
There are so many things in DBD that players are unhappy with. That causes some disconnects.
Just my prediction though.
I would expect toxicity to rise knowing that people can’t disconnect.
There are some situations where it’s justified though. 2 survivors disconnect ruining the game for everyone. Killer slugs one for the 4k. The survivors got screwed the most by 2 others disconnecting, yet they’re expected to sit there slugged for 4 mins? Why? Why are they being punished when they did nothing wrong? They got screwed and just want a new game. Why should they have to sit bored so the killer can gloat about the “ez 4k”? (This happens more than you would expect).
All you can do is hope they fixed the crap from last time but I’m guessing they haven’t where infinite loading screens count as disconnects.
-
@Shaggyshawshagz said:
One more thing. When is a good time and a bad time to grab corrupt from a fountain? Or should I not do that and wait for the fountains to reset?
I’m by no means a pro on that but generally you want to use it when its convenient. Survivors will often cleanse at the edge of the map. Wait until you’re in the area to pick it up, or wait until they cleanse a closer fountain. Just make sure you aren’t spending too much time getting to it.
If you use an add on to start with 1 corrupted dont go for it straight away. Survivors will play stealthy. You want it a little later when they’re feeling the pressure and trying to rush gens as they will stay on gens longer making them easier to find.

Whining is what is killing this game. Nobody wants to account for their own errors.
You know, it's funny because killers are right when they say NOED lighting up is the survivors fault. But they fail to see their own faults and mistakes and how many matches end in their 0 to 1k because they tunneled too hard, or camped too much, or zeroed in on long chases in areas where there were no gens, etc, etc.
This game has a larger per capital group of whiners than any game I've seen. These forums are nothing more than a salt factory.
lmao when they tunnel one survivor all game and ignore the other 3, then after the game complain about "teh genrush!". It's as if some just expect the other 3 survivors to sit around waiting for them.
Good job Hex: Training Wheels is there to ensure they never need to learn how to play.

I'm just starting to get into her now. Still learning and trying new builds.
Monitor and abuse is so good. Most survivors won't heal. You'll be surprised how close you can get with Monitor, then it's one hit until they're down. It's a lot of fun. Eventually they'll get fed up and start to cleanse.
Rather than try to puke someone to broken you're better off giving them a little bit of puke, maybe a hit or break a pallet and then switch targets. You want everyone infected asap. Then when they're all broken that's when the fun begins.
I've been trying out Blood Echoes recently. You'd be amazed how fast they cleanse once you take away their DH.
With this kind of gameplay, you want to be strategic about the gens you protect. PGTW helps massively for that.
Someone made a good thread about her the other day with good strategies. Try searching the forums for it.

When I play killer at red rank (Freddy with Pop, Dying Light, BBQ and Corrupt Intervention. Doctor with Whispers, Dying Light, Overcharge and Pop. Oni with BBQ, Pop, Dying Light and Nurse's) I try and play as fairly as possible. I get quite a lot of messages saying thanks to my no toxicity games.
Other killers can do this too, but they decide to be douchebags on purpose for no reason
I hook a survivor then go to hit a gen with Pop or chase another survivor off a gen I want to keep. If they try to abuse DS/BT then I hit the person doing the rescue. If I bump into the person who got unhooked I just slug them and let someone pick them up, it's rare I bump into them though. Most play cautious, only a few charge at you.
Its not even hard to not camp/tunnel lol only a rare few situations ever call for a little bit of camping.
That's why I don't get why people make out DS/BT is such a big issue. I haven't been hit with a DS in a long time nor have I hit someone who has BT. It's easy to go from survivor to survivor to survivor keeping up pressure without playing toxic.
-

Most people complain that theyre versing ranks below them and its not fair, well most of those red ranks would actually be green etc. ranks dont mean anything right now... this was my clown game on bloodlodge, no amazing perks or add-ons and the game was pretty easy because these players shouldnt be red ranks and that goes to about 85% of red ranks i see.
This is what I have found too. Red ranks have never been easier as killer and never been harder as survivor.
The chances of getting 4 genuine red ranks seems extremely low. Most games have at least 2 potatoes.

@LetsPlayTogether said:
Do we have full moon or something like that, with all those unreasonable threads about survivor perks?
People feel entitled to win just for picking killer. They refuse to "git gud" so to speak and just want everything on the survivor side nerfed. Oh whats that I cant camp/tunnel a survivor out immediately? NERF DS/BT!!
You know it's true with how much they defend NOED. That reveals a lot as to what kind of players they are.
Just reminds me of every bad killer I come across who telegraphs all their moves in chases, commit to one survivor for 5 gens, then rely on NOED to carry them.
