I don't believe I mentioned matchmaking. Nice strawman.
In terms of going against low rank killers, you literally only strengthened my argument. It's them bringing mori's.
All I said is that moris are common. I never specified rank.
I turn the game on and get hit with 3 mori games in a row. What do I care about which rank they are?

Sounds about right, yeah.
It's a huge tell to what ranks a person is at when they say certain things. Like "mori's are very common".
No it isn’t lol. In case you haven’t noticed EVERYONE is getting put against low rank killers right now.
It’s a common tell as to who doesn’t play the game when they assume red rank survivors don’t get put against low rank killers.
EU region btw so no idea how moris fare in other regions but here some nights they can be very common.

BT is mandatory, DS not.
I think DS needs rework more, but you can nerf DH too, I guess.
Unbreakable is especially bad here BECAUSE it counters slugging that is the ONLY counter to DS... THIS is a real SYNERGY, not Thana + Dying Light or some other crap perks.
Its the most mandatory perk in the game. 90% of killers try to tunnel. DS is at least a middle finger at them.

Come on now, we both know that's not true. 1 out of 10 games, maybe, I get a mori offering as a survivor at rank 1. How is that "very common".
It is true. Depends on the day. Some days its rare, some days its extremely common.

Sure I have hundreds stored myself as long term DBD player but I want to know if people actually use them.
Yes they’re very commonly used.
I dont use them unless its 3-4 toolboxes or a Squadette swf.
-
DS and BT are mandatory perks.
Dead Hard needs a nerf.
Unbreakable...its the only counter to slugging.
You see many killers play in ways where these perks are the only chance that survivors have to not have the game over with in a couple of minutes.
-
When DS first got changed I thought no it shouldn't and that it was ridiculous.
Now though? It seems justified.
The bad killers ruin it for everyone else. Some people tunnel mercilessly. It serves them right.
-
Very common. Sometimes you turn the game on and can get 3 in a row.
-
You mean as survivor?
Not worth it. Just take WGLF and play for the 4 stacks.
With the old hatch if you played well at least you could escape. With the new EGC you’re basically doomed in 99% of cases. Even if you break chases and use stealth and dont get hooked all game you’re still going to die in the end.
-
Rank 4s are basically rank 12s in terms of skill. Dont let the numbers fool you. Everyone has been invited to red ranks now

Same here. Ruin and DH on Hawkins. Both hidden behind barrels. Both are fantastic spots, but I've had matches on Crotus where the Hex literally sat beside a Gen, and in the open. I literally said they might as well put some flashing lights over them too. I don't think they were quite obvious enough.
There needs to be a balance.
The one on crotus asylum is ridiculous its just sat in an open area. At the same time they shouldn’t be so well hidden that they’re never found all game.
-
Depends on the map. Had Ruin on hawkins earlier that lasted all game. Player had NOED too. I never saw the last 2 totems.
-
“And sometimes I hit a survivor with puke and they play the animation and cough and then they don’t get sick from it and are totally un affected.”
I haven’t experienced the below 25% thing but I have definitely experienced this. Thought I was imagining it at first until I saw it happen the other day too on Otz’s stream. Now this is a 3rd case. There’s definitely something to this. You definitely hear the cough and see the animation as you say but they don’t get infected.
Pretty good job so far?
-
You can’t remove DS now.
Ever seen how hard a killer tunnels once they know a survivor doesn’t have DS? Changing DS would result in free tunneling and a tunneling epidemic of epic proportions.

Then your problem is matchmaking, not gen times. Sorry you face trash killers with not trash survivors.
I will have a similar situation. I'll see at the end it was 4 red ranked survivors vs a green killer. Difference is, that green just slaughtered the other three survivors like the braindead potatoes they are. I don't get good survivors on my team 9 times out of 10. They play just as badly or worse than the green ranked killer. Half the time, I die with them because EGC essentially hands the kill to the killer.
I have the same experience green rank killers DOMINATING red rank survivors. This is due to new rank reset making everyone red rank though. It wasnt like this before they changed rank reset.
-
Was the worst thing in the game until Ghostface came along.
Just a dull, dull killer to go against. Gets a free hits that pretty much unvoidable. He just runs behind you, vaults and hits. If you dont want to stay injured then you’re holding M1 all game.
Playing him its pretty much the same. No thought as to where you put traps, aim hatchets etc you just tap m2 and then mindlessly follow the survivor to get the free hit.
Needs a rework asap
-
“I won with 1 gen to go!!! Damn survivors OP!!! I demand gens take longer so that I can 4k with 3 gens remaining!!!!”
But it’s the survivors who are entitled 🙄
-
@GHOSTfaceP3 said:
I’d also like to say that I did kill them all but only because I slugged everyone of them during blood fury
So gens pop fast and it’s still not enough to win, let alone the fact you had NOED as back up.
If gens took longer....whats to stop killers from slugging/noed regardless?
People talk about survivor entitlement but killers win and still aren’t happy. Those are the really entitled players.

I wouldn't call Zanshin or Windows "crutch", but more "tutoroal" perks.
And for most of the perks here, they are either just heavily universal or good, and have some level of skill requirement to use effectively. Except one.
NoED for me is literally the definition of a crutch perk, and only really useful on maps with bad totem spawns or solo-queue. "JuSt Do BoNeS!" I hear people cry. You have ZERO REQUIREMENT I respond. Every other "crutch perk" has a level of requirement other than "lose badly" and get such a powerful reward.
Completely agree. NOED carries so many bad players and gives them kills they would never have earned otherwise.
DS and BT rely on the killer camping/tunneling so I wouldn’t consider them crutch
Only survivor perk that even comes in the ballpark is DH or SB since it grants weak players a free pallet.
-
Yes that’s exactly what NOED needs a buff. Its already the most powerful perk in the game but sure why not!
If the killer camps the survivors are not going to be able to do 5 gens and 5 totems. Never happens. The game would become even more reliant on camp and NOED than it is now.
-
Funny from what I’ve seen most survivors are dying and too many don't bring DS or BT.

OH MY GOD! SOMEONE SHARES MY OPINION!
As for Pig, the stats are skewered by trap tunnellers and crouched face-campers. Not true diciples, like Almo and myself.
Toolboxes are a problem, more than maps.
NoED is also skewering killer kills as it almost guarantees an endgame kill.
Leatherface just has a dumb power as a whole. I like the AoE, but hate that it's tied to an instant down. If they DO rework him, new power. New character from the ground up. His original incarnation feels rushed.
Never played him, never will in his current form. Too many people abusing the saw to even consider it. Good perks, though.
Almo takes NOED so I wouldnt say he’s a true disciple 😋
But yeah I see all the low tier killers go with 1-4 hooks all game then secure 2-3 kills with NOED. People say “just cleanse totems” but the fact is survivors will NOT cleanse totems, so they die to NOED, killer gets kills and thus its considered balanced.
But you bring up changing NOED to stop it being crutch and the killer mains go crazy and act like you insulted their firstborn. Its like they’re shooting themselves in the foot.
I get what they were going for with LF. Extremely powerful ability but they tried to balance it with the penalties. It slows him down, the idea being that you can’t use it on every hit but if you catch a survivor out of position then you get to instadown them. As pallets decrease throughout the trial he becomes stronger. Likewise he has a penalty tantrum if he misses. Its as if they realized that the ability to swing unlimited instadowns all trial long is extremely overpowering, so they had to balance it out with some limitations.....as if they were learning from mistakes they made with a chainsaw killer they put out a year before. Hmm....

People I'm facing are not more experienced than me. Some of my chases last less of 20 seconds, they make mistakes over mistakes, but if they put effort in M1, most of the times is a undeserved win for them. If you pair M1 effort with high looping skill is 0k ensured.
If me as killer do just a couple of stupid mistake I'm currently risking to mess up my entire game. A lag issue prevented me to get an important hit? 1 more gen somewhere will be fixed. This is why killers are underperforming. For those who say Hillbilly/Spirits are OP, well, you mess up a couple of chainsaw/phasewalk for any reason? Never mind if it was your fault or something else, you messed, you deserved to lose momentum. Whilst survivors? Just do gens. That's all.
I've suggested a very smart change for NOED which could solve this situation but IDK if they will care, basically I asked if it doesn't one-strike players anymore and rather locks gates panels for 100/110/120 seconds to stop this braindead gen rush. It's a cool idea, but I REALLY DK if they will care.
Killers aren’t underperforming though that’s the point. I don’t think Spirit is OP, just Billy. I’m in the same camp as @PigMainClaudette where I think he’s too strong for how easy he is to use.
I admit I thought Pig was weak but @Almo said she was doing too well to be given a buff.
Now the reasons for that can be debated and that’s what we often do (I personally believe NOED is fudging the numbers to some degree on weaker killers) however the point is that whatever the reasons, killers are not underperforming at the moment hence why there isn’t a rush to buff them.
I think we have agree that toolboxes aren’t needed to be so strong in the current game and they are being looked into. Likewise I think we have all agreed that some maps are too big which limits killer/survivor interaction, Red Forest being a good example.
-
There is a challenge related to him. So many killers running Rancor too due to the challenge.
Let the rift end, the honeymoon phase of Doc expire and then see if he’s as common.

I'd love to struggle but we are denied even to do this . Until you will don't play a single match as a standard 4,6 ms killer you will never realize how bullshits are blasting with your "Hillbilly OP" comments. Against good survivors is not struggle, is a free defeat, and you can't do so much to stop them unless starting with dirty tactics (which I hate)
See, in the other thread you told me I need to “git gud” I believed you used but here you are saying that a 4.6m killer is a “free defeat”.
I sympathise with you if you’re not enjoying the game but its likely your problem is due to ranks being messed up. You’re likely going against people with far more experience than you.
Upload some gameplay footage to youtube and we can analyse why the games fee like a free defeat. Message me privately if you dont want it public. Alternatively send the video to people like tofu, fungoose etc I think a lot do gameplay analysis for players now. Theres likely something your missing.
-
2018 and early 2019 I would have disagreed with you but the second half of 2019 onwards boy did the toxicity shift.
There seems to be more killers now that go out of their way to ruin the experience for survivors. They tend to gloat far more than survivors too post game, even if they only get kills with noed, or camping, or winning a game after 2 dc its still toxic gloating post game.
As survivors strength comes down and killer rises you can see the toxicity start to shift a little bit.
I’d bet big money right now this is only going to increase once the disconnect penalty comes in. Tbagging Ghostface leaving you slugged? That will increase drastically once they know you can’t disconnect anymore. That’s how the community is.

Slow killers are a prank in the current gen rush meta, but this is fine... For one who's carrying biased thoughts sure, it's fine, but I want to play actually both killer and survivor. No way I'm forced to play your side to have fun otherwise I get bullied by M1 Simulator. No no baby Kate, no no.
With red ranks being watered down killer has literally never been easier.
You’re only going to struggle if you go against 4 godlike survivors and the odds of having 4 of them in one game are extremely low. Even the best swf groups often have a weak link or two.
-
@Wesker said:
Hillbilly is OP? Yes, if you run in a straight line whilst he is rushing at you is OP as #########, but our boosted Kate main @ClickyClicky is one of that survivors which don't even realize when he is rushing to a generator and she get instantly crushed and stuck into the ground. I would stop listening a single word said by this guy if I were you and start actually looking at how much killers are underperforming after 3 or 4 patch-nerfs in few months. Most of them need reworks, others are balanced like the Hillbilly and don't need anything.. still others are a bit weak but still fun to play due their playstile (Doctor, Trapper, Clown) and Noed helps them against solid teams. Myers is in a mid way between weak and balanced becouse he has in-build Noed at least.
This is the problem. There is such a divide between where killers think the balance is and where it actually is.
You tell me I need to “git gud” but how many times have the devs come out and said killers are doing just fine? It’s not just the data they’ve explicitly said it a number of times. You really think if killers were as weak as you feel they wouldn’t be buffing them to balance out the game?
Killer will always feel more intense than survivor because you’re on your own and the workload isn’t shared out across 4 people.
The thing is though people like you have a tough game and then come here into this echo chamber and assume that the devs are survivor mains, hate killers, all sorts of conspiracy theories and believe that killers are massively underpowered. Killers are doing just fine....which kind of indicates that everyone else is doing ok then perhaps the problem lies with you.
-
Hillbilly because he’s the only true OP killer left.
-
Meh, its not too common that it’s an issue. I just do the gens and leave. Hit a few totems too. Shame that at red ranks you’re likely to depip.

@EvilJoshy said:
They get a GG even if they ALL run DS, Adren, BT, DH and bring toolboxes.
Besides we've had this argument countless times before. Survivors can get rid of noed before it even gets used. End of Discussion.
Yeah we’ve had this argument before...
Asking the survivor to run around the map checking every nook and cranny for 5 totems which is almost an extra generator in time just for cleansing along nevermind searching, all to stop the killer from going god mode with a speed boost and instadown = fair and balanced.
Asking the killer to not pick up someone who got off the hook less than a minute ago to avoid a 5 second stun = “OMG DEVS OP NERF PLZ!!!”
-
Clown, Spirit, Plague, Oni. All interesting killers. Not going to get into a balance discussion but interesting killers with unique powers.
Shame about the killer that came between them 😅

Next you'll tell me that Clown is good in chase...😂
You’re literally laughing at my statement that “not every hit is meant to be an instadown.”
Really goes to show how out of whack some peoples idea of balance is.
edit: Clown IS good in a chase actually. This is widely acknowledge. Its his map pressure that leaves him im a weak position. The fact that you think hes weak in a chase shows you obviously don’t know how to play him and likely get looped for 5 gens.
-
You’re not meant to have every hit on a survivor be an instadown. Sorry to burst your bubble but the game isn’t balanced around the 4k.
-
Its actually quite powerful. I know that goes against the “DEVS H8 KILLORZ!!” belief we have in here but new Ruin can be really strong.
-
Claudette? Yes. Thats why she hides in bushes afraid to move.
Nea? Hell no. She faces them head on and taunts them.
At least that’s what I’ve learned from playing the game.
-
I said his chainsaw is a balanced version of hillbillys.
Nice insult though

The only issues I see with gen times are toolboxes and grouping up.
Toolboxes should be reworked to affect great skill checks and NOT increase repair speed. Maybe the Engineer's toolbox can increase repair time SLIGHTLY but it should be minimal like 8% or something.
Grouping up on gens is also WAY too strong. The fact that just 2 survivors almost cut the repair time in half is insane. It should go 80s - 60s - 50s - 40s for 1-2-3-4 survivors respectively.
Finally there should be a cap to repair speed. No matter how many survivors or buffs there are, you should NEVER be able to finish a gen faster than 40 seconds. NEVER. That should be the absolute maximum speed it can be done, with the exception of great skill checks adding more progress.
I agree about toolboxes. They aren’t needed, gen speeds dont feel slow enough for them.
As for survivors grouping up I can see your point about the times, I often bring Discordance for this reason but the problem with increasing gen times for multiple survivors is that it will encourage people to spread out on gens which isn’t good for killer and it removes the ability to disrupt multiple survivors at once.

It's not that easy for me to explain. At the moment I can only say that looking at incoming statistics on new Ruin it's not behaving the way you would think if you only read the forums. :) It's possible that there will be a community update on it after we've had time to digest what the incoming data mean.
You mean it’s actually far more powerful than people realize? And especially effective if you don’t just decide to tunnel one survivor all game and ignore the rest?
-
As survivor - Some killers are just not fun to play against. Not specifically OP before anyone complains but just really not fun and they make me want to stop playing the game. Legion and Ghostface in particular.
As killer - God loops. There’s little you can do and if its in the center of the map then everyone will run to it over and over again. All you can do is ignore the survivor really. Then it kind of forces your hand to play campy if you get a hook since you’ll start chasing another survivor and they will run for a 5 minute loop which is pointless so you just go back to the guy in the hook to draw them out. Not fun for anyone.
Also corn and yamoaka maps and blendettes.
-
The speed is fine at the moment. As killer I win most games. As solo survivor I barely ever escape. That’s due to red ranks being watered down. You need 4 good survivors to win and you’re just not going to get that anymore. I don’t think gens should be looked at until we have better matchmaking. Can’t justify increasing gen times when its so easy to dominate as killer.
What I don’t like is the number of moris floating around. Its almost 50% of games at times. I can put the game on to relax and have fun but get hit with 3 moris in a row. It really sours the mood when you’ve just turned the game on. People can bring up keys but everyone lobby dodges them anyway so that’s mostly irrelevant. So many killers complain about balance but they’ve got so many shortcuts its ridiculous. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen an ebony mori, NOED and ultra rare add ons in the same game. So hard to play killer!!
-
Hit the survivor going for the unhook. He pauses to unhook, you’ll quickly be able to hit him again before he gets to a pallet.
There you go you just avoided BT and DS and got a free hook trade.
People are too focussed on tunnelling the person who just got unhooked.

So, keep arguably the weakest killer in the game the same. But you nerf probably the most balanced killer in the game...?
Ok
Didnt say keep him the same just agreeing that he doesnt need nerfs.
As for billy being the most balanced....lmao. That old meme.
LF’s chainsaw is a balanced version of Hillbillys. Instadowns are incredibly powerful that’s normally why they come with restrictions;
Haunted grounds - time limit
Make your choice - time limit
Devour hope - Need 3 hooks before totem destroyed
Myers - time limit, needs to stalk first
Ghostface - time limit, needs to stalk first
Oni - Time limit, needs to collect blood first
Leatherface - Unlimited uses and on demand chainsaw, but slows him down making it harder to hit and a hefty time penalty if you miss
Hillbilly - Unlimited uses and on demand chainsaw. Still able to keep pace with a survivor while using it and only a minor penalty for a missed swing.
You’re not meant to be getting an instadown on every hit which is what any decent Hillbilly gets. Killer mains have a warped view of balance.
-
No. Killers often camp/tunnel and for some reason many of the survivors I get put with don’t bring DS. This means the killer can freely and quickly tunnel them out of the game.
If the killer is playing campy then I can unhook a survivor but they may just go straight back down, losing me rescue points and hurting the team in the process. With BT now at least I know for sure that survivor will have a fighting chance and at least be able to keep the killer busy for a little while longer. I wouldn’t be relying on someone else to run the perk like I do with DS.
-
They listen to and try to appease killers more than they realize. Shame that people don't appreciate it. If you look at the killers/reworks after Plague most have been stronger consistently than what we had in previous years.

https://youtu.be/DhqjeHvEV7Q?t=5 -
They’re a relic from a time when the devs had no clue how to create the maps and how they were going to be played.
-
No killer sucks the fun out of the game like GF. Completely broken mechanic, all of them camp, has no penalty to his stealth and tends to get almost as many gen grabs as prayer beads spirit. He can cancel your reveal by ducking behind a rock then pop out and stalk you to full before you can reveal him.
Awful, awful cheap feeling killer. I’d rather go against a 5 blink nurse or prayer beads spirit. Sure GF isn’t as strong but at least those killers feel less cheap.
-
Yes!!
