Really easy. Killer has never been easier, but that’s due to red ranks being extremely watered down with new rank reset.
How it would go regularly against a team of 4 pro survivors I have no idea.
-
I think 360s are dumb too. I know people say “its not a horror game yada yada” but the idea of someone spinning in a circle as fast as possible to avoid a hit from a knife wielding maniac just looks ridiculous.
That said it’s pretty much the only defence survivors have against Legion’s free hits so....
#Legionrework
-
No, the only reason the other survivors are still in the game is for the unhook. Where else is the killer meant to go? There are no gens to patrol.
-
They need to fix matchmaking before they fix balance.
Seeing green rank killers getting a red rank survivor in the dying state 5 seconds after a chase started just feels wrong.

Sorry this reply is sort of useless but don't take the bait. They're pretty well-known for starting things and causing people to get angry so I wouldn't keep falling for their comments lmao.
Starting things?
All I do is provide a logical counter-argument to the theory that “OMG SURVIVORZ SO OP DEVS H8 KILLORZ AND CONSPIRE TO N3RF THEM EVRY UPDATE!!!”
If people get mad then that’s on them for not being able to accept another persons opinion. I don’t troll nor insult, some people just aren’t able to accept that maybe just maybe, the game is more balanced than they realize and that devs do not hate any side in particular. In fact they try to appease these people a lot but I don’t know why as most often remain ungrateful. Killers are stronger than they’ve ever been yet change Ruin and its the end of the world.

Well you did just try to justify this whole thread with confirmed bad data, so I am not seeing you providing any reliable proof either.

I see what you mean about excuses and I want to get away from my own experiences as much as possible and
my apologies.
To answer you I'd go to point number 1 and and 5 that survivors dont often make skillcheck mistakes, and that the window of mistakes for each side is vast.
35 seconds for an objective on killer is a tight tight window and even one mistake can cost him that objective while a mistake on survivor objectives can be covered and split among the other 3.
Pretend the killer makes a 30 second mistake and a single survivor makes a 30 second mistake. The killer looses 30 seconds and an objective. 3 survivors take 10 seconds longer and the mistake is made up for.
In perfect ideal games my argument is its survivor sided. In mistake riddled games my argument is the killer as vastly less room for error and its survivor sided
Let me ask you this, in my long winded OP if taken as true are those advantages enough to agree that its survivor sided ?
With either yes or no to that are there any points I made you disagree with.
I 4k almost every game right now. I can barely ever escape if I play solo survivor. The stats we have reflects this as does the experience of many.
Red ranks are completely watered down due to new rank reset. I had a Spirit daily. Haven’t played her since the demo update when all the bugs started so I was rusty and barely used her power effectively. Went against a 3 man swf. They had between 150 - 300 hours playtime each. To anyone new that might sound like a lot but red ranks previously used to be at least 1,500 hours per survivor. Bare minimum 800 hours. Those games were super sweaty.
Needless to say it was a cakewalk. 2 gens done and 4k.
This is everygame now. This is why its so hard to win as survivor but so easy to win as killer.
My point is that whatever people think about balance it’s moot now. Killers are dominating. Its very unlikely you would get 4 great survivors in a game.
Previously yeah red rank games could be incredibly difficult but I think until the new matchmaking is in place it makes it impossible to talk about balance. You can’t really justify making any changes at the moment.

50% kill rate or whatever you wanna make up
could mean 3 players get 4-k and 3 players get 0-K.
And awnser me this do they die because they made mistakes in stealth to get found, mistakes in chase to get hit, and then mistakes as team to not get a save?
This is what I mean by excuses. Theres always excuses.
Are you saying people should be expected to play perfectly with zero mistakes?
Do killers make mistakes in missing survivors right in front of their eyes? mistakes in committing to a 5 gen chase? mistakes in chasing survivors into strong areas away from gens? mistakes from focusing too hard (tunneling) one survivor and ignoring the rest? mistakes on approaching loops the wrong way or constantly changing direction thus dragging out the loops?
See theres always an excuse but you could argue the same for the killer side.

Stats that they have already admitted time and time again are greatly skewed. The whole ruin rework is because of these same statistics are skewed. They even admitted that they take statistics at too wide of a perception.
Really is that your immediate go to on trying to debate against this guy with actual facts?
So based on.....gut feelings, you assume that survivors are escaping more than dying? Since you have no data to back it up.

That's not conclusive. Rank 20 survivors who are trying to learn the game for the first time could account for a huge portion of that number. Red rank/purple data is whats important.
(Rank 20 survivor vs rank 20 killer) killer usually wins imo but red ranks is a completely different story.
red ranks killers still win. Theres always an excuse but it's never the case.
-
Killers kill more than survivors escape.
-
It’s objectively killer sided. The stats and data prove this.
-
Its the paradox of being a survivor.
Lose a chase in 5 seconds? You get tunneled out because you’re easy prey.
Loop the killer for a few minutes? You get facecamped because the killer is upset you’re a better player than them.
You’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
-
You get tunneled no who you play as. Its more who you’re against that the question.
Trapper - tunnels
wraith - tunnels
hag - oh you better believe she camps and tunnels
ghostface - tunnels
pig - tunnels the person with the RBT on
spirit - tunnels
freddy - tunnels
The rest vary but the killers above you should generally expect tunneling

Was it always like that for red rank killers or was that a change? Ive had forum posts coming up in my Google news thing and have seen a few things. I was honestly pretty shocked when I started playing again. The timer for getting out of the exit kinded added to the lopsided feeling. Felt like it was something extra to help Killers, but I could be mistaken.
I was honestly most shocked that the game didn't devolve into nonsense. It didn't end up with a dead player base like many other games of the sort,or end up where every match is a toxic troll session like Friday the 13th.
Matchmaking has always been spotty but it used to be more random.
Theory is that all survivors good and bad are now stuck at red ranks. Seems like that has a good possibility of being true.
So if you go against a red rank they could either be a 7000 hour legend or someone who would have previously coasted around rank 8.
-
Yes, its used to gloat and taunt the other side.

I've never been that high in rank but I feel like it's possible if this keeps up. I'm only like rank 15 at the moment. I've got into the green before and that's about it. I'm sure it's way different in red. I see a lot of DC's from killers. I don't know if they don't like certain maps or what.
Killer rank doesnt matter because whether you’re rank 1 or 15 you’re going to be going against red ranks no matter what lol
Previously the best survivors would boost to red ranks and the lesser survivors would trickle in at the end of the month. Now they dont get reset back s far so everyone is in red ranks. The games used to be ok at red ranks but now they’re almost impossible to escape from. Especially against certain killers.

18 out of 35 games so far were 4k's
6 3k's
1 2k
5 1k
4 0k
i started this when i was rank 11 surv
Seeing the same numbers as rank 6 killer
As much as i hate to say it considering that killer is a pita. They need more nerfs. I am sorry.. But they are toostrong at least when a solo is involved
Finally someone else who can see hard stats and doesnt base the game on their feelings.
Killer can be stressful but yeah you still win most. Solo survivor is almost impossible to escape. You need 4 good players and the chances of getting that without swf is incredibly slim.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
They need to stop making it easier for newbies period. This makes the good red rank survivors stronger and breaks the game.
And it sucks for killer at ALL ranks now. I came back from a long break. Deranked back to 18 and most of my matches all I'm seeing are red/purple ranks.
Lol
Killers win most games. I see green rank killers win games against red ranks all the time. Red ranks are so watered down that its meaningless now.
I either die because I get chased all game allowing the others to do gens but then nobody comes to rescue me when NOED kicks in, or I don’t get hooked but then die due to EGC being killer sided. Good survivors are few and far between.
Every game now its a green rank killer absolutely demolishing a red rank team. Red ranks that only get 7k points a game because they’re boosted as hell.
New rank reset has destroyed the game.
-
He wins most games from what I’ve seen.
-
Its the opposite for me. I 4k most games as killer but solo survivor escape rate is about 10%. I put that down to red ranks being watered down so much.
-
Survivors will be able to rig gens so that when the killer kicks it the gen will explode in their face and they blackout for 60 seconds. You heard it here first folks.

hmm yes. in a balanced match. But i dont think 4 potatos are supossed to do 4 gens against killer 20 times better than them. Would u say 4 rank 20s should get 5 gens done against a rank 1 killer before he kills them? They pretty much all play like rank20s and thats the problem
If the survivors are potatoes and the killer is 20 times better then the survivors wont get those gens done. If they are then perhaps the killer isn’t as good as they think they are.
-
As killer its ok if you know how to pressure the map and play strategic. Some maps still suck though.
As solo survivor its garbage, utter garbage. rampant tunneling, camping and moris.
as swf its slightly more bearable.
-
As survivor I don’t bring in any items.
As killer I don’t tunnel unless you’re toxic. I also punish survivors that troll/sandbag or hide in bushes rather than contributing to gens.
-
Some people ignore all other survivors to tunnel off the hook. These are the ones who complain about DS and Bt the most.
Don’t get me wrong there are some situations where these perks can be annoying, endgame for example but in general if you’re raging because you’re always affected by these perks then you need to look at the way you play.
If I see someone rushing an unhook I just hit them. Often results in a quick trade and I don’t get affected by DS or BT at all.

No that's not tunneling. Just because you were unhooked does not mean you are entitled to having a chance to recuperate. If another survivor unhooks you unsafely, and then you get punished for that - that is not the fault of the Killer. He wasn't tunneling he was just optimizing on survivors mistakes.
Tunneling is when you focus on one target even against better options. It's in the name. Based off what is called "Tunnel Vision".
Oh the examples of camping are hella accurate, but camping is a legitimate strategy when used right.
Like no Killer in their right mind would take 2 steps from a hook, hear the person on hook get saved, and not turn around to smack the guy off hook. That would be dumb, and put the killer at such a huge disadvantage. If they turned and ignored the person off hook, any good survivor would know the Killer is distracted by chase, and will instead work on generators instead of healing - good survivors know when to heal. If the Killer walks across the map, finds you, and then you loop him into the person on hook. It would be stupid for the killer not to smack the guy off hook.
All I can say without needing to make an entire "How to play survivor" walk-through, is learn how to make safe saves that the survivor can safely get away from.
Proxy camping and tunneling go hand in hand.
Killer gets hook, stays nearby within terror radius waiting for the unhook, immediately goes after the other survivor again ignoringvstyone else in the process, gets second hook, wait near hook, goes for the unhooked survivor again ignoring everyone else he sees along the way.

It's more about how much survivors can mess up without really sacrificing anything. His longest chase in the entire match was 25 seconds, yet they got so close to finishing gens and escaping.
He messed up his chainsaws 3 or 4 times and 2 gens pop. Your conclusion just sounds extremely biased to me. If they had all been amazing at loops, juking and making him waste time I'd understand your perspective, but it obviously wasn't the case.
If a 3000 hour streamer struggled to win this game what can all of us mere mortals do when in that situation?
Otz hit obstacles multiple times.
He complains about swf trying to rush a gen in front of him yet instead of attacking them he goes to chase a survivor who he KNOWS will have DS and he allows them to lead him away from the gen and waste his time.
Survivors bring 2 good toolboxes with add ons and genrush
Otz still gets the 4k.
Killer/hillbilly gets to mess up, make bad decisions and still get the 4k. Must be Op.

care to explain what camping and tunneling are then? Oh grand master of dbd knowledge
-
@NullEXE said:
Could you imagine thinking the Killer is camping because you can hear their terror radius?
laughs in 20 add-ons/perks that effect the heartbeat
To be fair most stay within terror radius distance so they can get back to the hook quickly to tunnel after the unhook. Trappers are notorious for this.
-
Hillbilly or Legion.
I just find both of them boring which is ironic because I hate playing against them too. Hillbilly just feels cheap and feels like you’ve enables god mode when compared to other killers and Legion has the most brainless ability in the game. You just tap m2 and then run/vault after survivors for a free hit.
-
60 seconds per gen. Seems balanced.
-
If you took away NOED most killers would be forced to apply pressure.
With NOED you’re guaranteed 2 kills minimum. 1 by camping and 1 by the NOED.
For lazy players the question becomes why play and sweat when you can sit around the hook and be guaranteed a draw game minimum?

You are incorrect survivor can get hooked and kill self if gets off can wait until crow for killer to come hook again then they free to do other thing if not have fun. Killer has to stay if not have fun I don't think you ever verse swf that won't do last gen on purpose you can't have if you say killer not having fun can just open gate.
Killer can only dc or afk both bannable survivor can die on hook so not same thing. Killer not hooking survivor when they give up is the 1% you can't use that to argue case if it's happen so rare
If survivor “gives up” sometimes the killer wont hook. Just like they often ignore afk players. Plus I’ve seen plenty of survivors try to sacrifice themselves and other survivors rush them off the hook to keep them in the game.
No ive very rarely come across a group of people that wont do a gen. if the killer is afk then some will try to get some points but otherwise ive never seen anyone intentionally ignore gens....other than claudettes that want to hide in bushes
-
Survivors can’t just give up. They need to be hooked, which if they visibly give up the killer may not do. Then they need to not kobe and not be pulled off before sacrificed and others seeing whats happening will try to rush the unhook.
As killer you can just open the gate and let the timer take care of the rest. Otherwise just go afk and let them do gens if you really dont want to play. Most survivors will do gens, if not I guess you could facecamp?
Theres no guaranteed way out on either side but its extremely rare the other side wont help finish the trial.
-
Killers that resort to tunneling after getting a hook 15 seconds into the game. You’re doing fine, no need to play like that.
After that it’s survivors that dont do gens. Sooner you get the gens done the sooner we can escape. Its that simple.

Spend most of my time in purple and red ranks on both sides and have almost exclusively 4k'ed and hatch 3k'ed as Oni since the day he came out and I've exclusively played him, but nice try, love.
So you almost exclusively 4k and hatch 3k for over 2 months.....yet its the survivors that are OP.
Why are killer mains so oblivious?
Was the constant 4ks not good enough for you? Did they have to be 4ks with 5 gens left standing for you to consider the game balanced?
-
@SpaceCoconut Look at the videos though. Noob3, noob3, Ayrun....these peoples whole personality is being cocky and boasting. They’re going to make videos like that. Its the toxic survivor theme, escape tbag and boast.
For the most part killers aren’t like that as much. The killer main streamers dont have the same kind of cocky personalities as noob3 and Ayrun or those types.
Survivors obviously see escaping as more special than killers see the 4k. Tru3 often boasts about 4 man 5 gens when he gets it but never does videos of streams or stuff.
Why do survivors put more importance to escape streaks than killers do 4k streaks? Maybe because its harder?
I play both sides and I 4k more games than not. Meanwhile playing solo survivor my escape rate is extremely small.
Plus comparing an escape to a 4k isnt really comparable. Not with hatch, and its worth pointing out noob3 had both of his streak videos before the hatch could be closed.
A better comparison would be survivors bragging about 4 man escapes in a row. Thats the equivalent of a 4k. Where are all those videos? Does it really mean survivors are op if 1 escapes 50 games in a row but in most of those games 3 others died? Thats still a win for the killer.
-
I can honestly say at this point I fear new Ruin as survivor more than old Ruin.
Having gen progress deleted is far worse than having it stalled.
If you commit to a 3 min chase right from the start of the game though then obviously you wont get much out of if.

I dont want to make assumptions about his gameplay, but when he talks about avoiding a mori by just looping all game.....yeah he sounds like one of those killers who commits to 5 gen chases.
People need to learn how to mindgame, predict routing, manipulate the red stain and most importantly when to let go of a survivor and switch targets.

I'm sorry if you really cannot understand how instantly taking 25% of the team out of the match permanently doesn't shift the game massively in the killer's favor you just do not understand how this game works at all. If its a 3v1 with 4 gens, even 3 gens, it becomes nearly impossible to lose (few exceptions do occur, though)
Dudes gotta be baiting.
Everyone knows how much the game shifts with one survivor gone, thats why tunneling is so prevalent.
-
Insert video of fungoose winning a billion games in a row, or Jund with his 32 win stream with speed limiter leatherface.
Its so ridiculous to use these videos and claim when side is op when there is plenty of videos of the other side having massive win streaks.
Watch any of the streamers play and shock, they actually win most games as killer on any given day. Meanwhile watch noob3 on stream and his escape rate isnt THAT good.
-
I'm not sure what that video is meant to prove.
Yes the gens went fast but the killer won!!!
What do you want? to win with 2 or 3 gens as opposed to 1? what does it say to survivors? "hey you guys brought toolboxes and did the gens lightning fast but you still lose lol gg"
How do you expect the devs to justify increasing gen times when the killer wins?
Also a few points...
1) Nobody said toolboxes were balanced. Everyone has agreed they should be nerfed.
2) This is a bad map for Billy. A bad map with 2 great toolboxes with add ons and Billy still won
3) Otz wasn't playing that great. I'm not going to nitpick every little thing he did because I don't expect anyone to play perfect but bring ######### zanshin tactics over Pop was ridiculous, Pop would have made a big impact on that early gen. Likewise he's complaining about multiple survivors trying to genrush in front of him....so he goes and tunnels the person who just got off hook knowing full well he will eat a DS and get nothing for the chase, and let survivors finish that gen. Dumb move. Imagine if he popped the gen then put pressure on the 3 survivors that were trying to rush it.
-
Fine, but just don't camp/tunnel to counter DS and BT
-
Asking a survivor to run around looking for 5 tiny totems and cleansing them all to stop the killer from going turbo with speed boost and instadowns = perfectly fine counterplay
Asking a killer to not tunnel to avoid a 5 second stun = ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!
-
I agree. He's the worst killer in the game to play against. I'd take Legion over GF anyday. Most of them just use stealth to camp/tunnel hooks, and the reveal is so broken he's either going to get a free hit or expose you by the time you've revealed him anyway. Hell just to break him out of his power you have to give away your location.
I wish they would just delete him. He really is that bad.
-
Anything that would result in the killer having a power where they could teleport to hooks or stealth around hooks. There is enough camping killers in the game already.
