  • What we have now is garbage. Something new gets offered.....I’d rather take my chances and see how it goes.

  • People just dont want their ez mode killer nerfed.

  • Why do killers frown upon Adrenaline when they didn’t stop the gens from being done or eliminate the survivors?

Everyone is a very bold claim. There's a ton of people who are willingly choosing to play them as is, and playing against him is nowhere near as annoying as it was before.

Its not playing as him that people complain about so much (though many seem unhappy). its going against him that sucks.

I actually preferred him before tbh. At least when he was slow it was safer to not heal. Now everyone kind of heals and again its just M1 all game.

Nope, expected amount being "if all killers were played exactly equally". (100% / number of killers) Legion is played more than that. They're popular.

And yet everyone hates playing against him and wants a rework. This should be cause for concern.

That's because they all relied on ruin. Most people in those ranks needed ruin. That's why the meme was created that BHVR only cares about new survivor fun. Not new players.

Combine that with the matchmaking putting them up against red rank players constantly, and it all makes sense why they complain.

But thats the same argument here. How many posts in the past week about how the game is ruined due to the Ruin change? Or how people are quitting the game because of it?

    This.

Hell, if you're a rank 12-20 killer and you're facing rank 12-20 survivors, you don't even have to be decent. Using those ranks as a point of reference is silly. It's telling, though. Shows where their point of view is coming from. No disrespect of course. It's okay to be low rank.

And yet if you look at reddit for example its all rank 10s complaining non-stop about how hard the game is, how survivor biased the devs are and how all the killers need mega buffs.

They sound a lot like the people here actually. I’ve seen the same arguments made too lol

  • GHOSTFACE!!!!!

Yeah there's the ability to tbag but I often find its the killers with the easiest camping ability that are the most toxic. Since GF can turn off his terror radius, still move and attack freely he's pretty strong at camping to deny BT. Also add his ability to stalk anyone going for the unhook and you end up with a magnet for the most toxic players.

  • @ReallyBigShoe said:

Voice chat is not, nor has it ever been cheating.

Whether the game is balanced around it is another question entirely.

Voice chat is the most balanced feature.

I can only answer the first from my perspective; while it's in a better spot now than ever before, it's not perfect. We wouldn't be continually updating the game if we were happy with everything. There's still a long list of stuff we'd like to change.

The second half, I can't answer.

Who on the BHVR dev team do I make a cheque out to in order to ensure that Billy gets the treatment he deserves when you do the adjustments for him?

  • @MiniPixels said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1047239#Comment_1047239

Because billy has a high risk high reward play style, with Myers you earn you reward over time, where with billy you start with it but messing up with it punishes you hard. Just my opinion.

That "punishes you hard" is the part I disagree with.

Leatherface - yes, Hillbilly - No.

LF has a lengthy cooldown and has to time his chainsaw carefully as it will slow him down. Billy has a minimal cooldown and isn't slowed down anywhere near as much as LF when charging.

  • He's the most boring killer in the game.

So for a start his frenzy. He gets a free hit. The player (killer) would have to be a complete potato to miss that. In 99% of situations he's going to get a hit. He moves at 5.2m per second and can vault pallets. You run, Legion runs, you vault, Legion vaults. He gets as many free hits as he likes with very little in the way of counterplay other than trying to spin like a madman and hoping he misses or praying he falls for a locker vault.

Once hit survivors have 2 options:

    1) Stay injured which means you're against an M1 killer with instadowns all game.

    2) Heal to full health so he doesn't catch you off guard. This is where the problem comes in. Survivors hold M1 for most of the game to repair generators, with Legion if you want to heal you're now also holding M1 to heal all game too. Doesn't help that most Legions use thanataphobia and previously sloppy butcher, though thankfully he only has an add on for that now. If you use self-care it will take so long, otherwise you're either looking for totems for inner strength which will quickly run out or looking for someone else to heal you. Either way with how easily and frequently Legion can get hits if you wish to heal you're going to be doing little other than holding M1 for 90% of the game.

He's boring. By far the most boring killer in the game. Everyone wants a rework but so far....silence.

He mostly seems to be used by edgelords on reddit who have a weird obsession with him. I don't get why, he's probably the most ridiculous looking killer. That stupid mask and his weird chicken walk. Legion is a joke. A very bad joke.

    Rework please.

edit: I should comment on Plague because a lot of Legions design flaws were rectified in Plague. She gets a free hit but it's not instant. It takes time, if she wants it quick she has to actually aim and keep spraying survivors.

    Survivors now have 2 options:

    1) Stay injured all game (Like Legion)

    2) Instaheal. This is where they went right. Plague gets free injures but they also get extremely fast heals at fountains. In return Plague then gets a new and better power. There's an interesting gameplay loop there which isn't present with Legion.

  • @MiniPixels said:

Billy and Myers are the two most balanced killers in the game at the moment, in my opinion.

    Lmao

One who is stuck at 115% movement speed vs one who can zoom across the map as frequently as he wants at 230% speed

One who has to waste time stalking survivors and delaying the chase to be granted instadowns for a very short duration vs someone who has unlimited instadowns from the very start of the trial

How can they both be the most balanced when they aren’t even in the same league

  • Most broken killer in the game.

While I agree with fixing bugs. A bug fixed does not a nerf make.

However, your stance on bloodlust couldn't be any more hypocritical given the point you are wanting to make with your post.

Bloodlust was introduced to combat infinite loops. The fact a chase can take long enough for bloodlust to take affect is a clear sign of poor game design.

Sure a killer can choose not to break a pallet and circle it indefinitely. THAT would be the fault of the killer entirely.

Sure there are some things on the list that shouldn't be, but it's a form of argument the other side, whichever side you are on wants to ignore and dismiss entirely.

No the point was he was talking about how killers have been nerfed starting from day one.

They added a mechanic to buff killers then nerfed it but if you’re counting from day one then adding the mechanic in the first place is still a net buff

If a killer is camping you literally have the time to go look for totems and defeat Noed. You have a perk that's literally a metal detector for totems. The hooked survivors is giving you free time to do this

Killer is camping. Free gens. Period. You're wasting time to go fight a losing battle when gens can be getting repaired.

You stop camping by not feeding it. Period. Dot.

2 mins on hook until death for 3 survivors to finish 5 gens and find and cleanse 5 totems.

It all depends on how quickly that survivor went down. Often the survivors can get the gens done but at the expense of totems before the killer comes to camp another victim.

  • I dunno.

I’d be tempted to say Haddonfield but I got it earlier and there was long walls everywhere.

Haddonfield if the fences spawn with a gap in them and aren’t just solid from one side of the house to the other, otherwise Ormond.

  • @Boss said:

Make Your Choice: Great way to get another Hooking while not tunneling, plus it's a passive DS timer.

Also, Wraith, so no BT for me.

MYC is so good on Wraith. You can catch the survivors so unaware and no need to worry about BT when you get the instadown on someone else.

  • Myers by far. Also generally the least likely to tunnel and camp on average.

I’ll break them into tiers (not ordered from left to right)

Above average : Myers, Huntress, Clown, Doc, Leatherface

Average: Wraith, Nurse, Trapper, Oni, Plague, Demogorgan

Below average: Pig, Freddy, Hag, Spirit

Rather uninstall the game: Hillbilly, Legion, Ghostface

I feel there’s some tilt in there though due to playstyles. Spirit for example may have made average but I’m just so used to 99% of them mostly using her power to rush back to the hook to tunnel that it has soured my experience with her. Same for Wraith and demo, when they aren’t using their power to camp hooks they may be a tier above.

  • Before you could slap on 3 blinks and it was basically training wheels. Now with just 2 blinks and a recharge there’s less room for error.

She’s also the most exhausting killer to play imo. She can be really strong but I couldn’t play her every game. You really need to concentrate for them blinks.

Thats the crap I never understood... If the game is made for 2 escape vs 2 get killed basically they want us to tunnel someone instead of spread the hooks giving same chance.

Eh if you spread the pressure its likely that the weakest link of the team will be dead anyway. The one that always gets spotted and doesn’t last long in a chase. Its not like you look around for them they just happen to always be visible.

Then you’ll likely have given 2 hooks, 2 hooks and maybe 1 hook to the others respectively by last gen.

Thats how I imagine an average game would hypothetically play out anyway.

  • How is it the new meta? Tunneling is just as frequent as before.

I really wish they would split Russia from EU servers. If you get a killer that hard tunnels without any remorse I can guarantee you post game their name will be a bunch of Russian letters.

  • I really hope they share these stats about favourite character and most requested map change.

Killers complains becuz of despite do 4k its not fun is stressful, like you finishing chases so quick but gens doesnt stop popping up. In my case I ve had a match where survs were bad loopers but they were pro repairers. I dont have fun being stressed and I dont think surs get fun M1ing 🤷🏻‍♂️ Neither getting caught in 20 secs but If you press gens killers need to press more.

The game is balanced for 2 to escape and 2 to die.

If you think about it, the only way 2 can escape is if all 5 gens are done.

So its natural that the gens will be done. 1 survivor will normally be dead by then and you’ll likely be finishing off another.

  • @ABannedCat

He does win the vast majority of his games.

When I play killer though I see so many survivors with 2000,,4000, 5000 hours. Its kind of ridiculous because when I play survivor I never see killers with that many hours.

Seems to be swf that keeps them playing for so long.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If I am against Billy, I will take one for the team and die fast. I can count single handed how many times I have escaped. He is not fun to play against. That is from a rank 4, 1k plus hours gaming experience player. I am no way the best player out there, but a billy who can go from one side of the map to the other with an insta down ability is BS.

Agreed. I don’t hate strong killers but something about Billy just seems cheap. Nurse was stronger and didn’t bother me as much. Probably because with the speed and instadowns its easier for noobs to get lucky with Billy. He takes the least skill out of all the strong killers.

  • Killer mains on camping - “just rush gens”

Killer mains after camper gets a few more kills with NOED - “should have done totems”

  • @darktrix said:

    So it's like Tuesday?

Like that whenever Ruin was usually destroyed in under 60 seconds anyway. Now they can actually look at the problem without having a perk band-aid things up.

At least the really cheese tactics like camping is less likely to have enough time to get more than one victim.

Survivors do fly through gens - besides there being nothing else to really do, a killer can snowball at any time, so not getting enough gens done at a good pace is an eventual death sentence. Why they are end up rushed. About the only kind of survivor that has the luxury of screwing around is the 4 person SWF.

In all the salt in this forum its nice to see someone who actually understands the game.

  • Anything has to be better than what they have now. It’s damn near impossible to win as solo survivor because everyone has boosted to red ranks. Red ranks are so watered down it’s ridiculous and it sucks seeing even the crappiest of killers getting more kills than they deserve.

Killer has never been easier. No more sweat gs great players. While its nice I know this is not how its meant to be when put against survivors that are meant to be at the top of the ranking system.

I’ll try anything new at this point.

  • You’re right and I’ve been discussing this with people myself recently. Streamers complain about stream sniping and I get why that is frustrating for them but they record everyone without their consent. Some even upload humiliating videos to youtube. Granted most don’t name and shame but names are often not edited out.

  • People making lists and holding onto things from years back like an ex-lover.

I mean look at some of these....

    • Nerfed bloodlust - Yet you forget to add the fact that they ADDED Bloodlust in the firstplace so it’s still a net buff compared to day one
    • Fixed an issue that caused Legions blades to stack causing extremely long mending times - Yes because bug fixes to game breaking bugs are nerfs now 🤣

And again, people wonder why the developers dont take their complaints seriously?

  • On Huntress but that’s about it. Shes good at doing the hatch -> axe combo when they’re in the exit gate area.

Bloodwarden lost its edge though when the EGC came in as now everyone tends to 99 exit gates.

  • Its almost impossible to win now at red ranks if you play solo. It feels like how green ranks used to feel. I’m managing to escape about 10% of the time tops. Most commonly getting 1 hooked when other survivors are all dead or when killer camps me and everyone is too afraid to unhook because of NOED.

  • @Echorion Imagine keeping a list of every minor change every killer has had, including counting bug fixed and unintentional design fixes as “nerfs”.

This is what we’re dealing with. People so defensive of their side they keep records like this just to bring it up years later and say “see! Told you the devs hate us killers!”

Have you ever seen the changelog for any online game?

Hell hath no fury like a killer scorned.

  • Ranks literally don’t matter anymore. Not since new rank reset.

Ok theres a difference between rank 1 and rank 20 but ranks 3-15 are indistinguishable. Red rank survivors are entering lockers in front of the killer now like rank 20s would and no its not for Head On.

  • Survivor - Escape

Survivor with new rank reset - No chance of escaping so try to pip and farm 4 stacks of WGLF

    Killer - 3k

Killer against toxic tbagging swf - Play Legion or Ghostface just so I know I sucked the fun out of the game for them 😎

  • @ZoneDymo said:

ermm no? they expect you to do 6... you are not meant to 4k

Killers go on post-game rants about balance if 2 survivors make it out. People feel like they’ve lost even if they haven’t.

I think it needs to be clearer to them to stop the whining. “Entity displeased” needs to be changed to something more positive lol

Look at the other thread where someone talked about winning 20 games in a row at rank 1 as Doc and how DS was stopping that from being the norm. Like if DS was the only thing stopping that then it would be the only perk balancing the game lmao

  • It’s all placebo. Killers are tunnelling just as much as they did before Ruin was changed, I’ve noticed no difference in the frequency. The only thing that is different is that now killers are more likely to be punished by a genrush for doing it - which is how the game should be.

  • @SeducedByASiren said:

Well u have to see more of tru3 that only one game, very rearly he or anyone wins a game with 5 gens left or 4 or 3 lol. it happens more often that you as a killer loss a game for genrush than u as a killer won the game with 5 gens left...so much more often

But should he be winning many games with 0 gens done?

Like many killers he wins games and then still complains. How many times have we seen that in these forums the past week? People winning then complaining? I’ve seen it in so many games. I had a killer the other day who got a 3k then went on a ran about how “premades are so unfair” (but I was solo btw), so he won but he’s still salty? what would have been fair? Perfect 4k?

If the killer wins with 2 gens left they go on a rant about how unbalanced the game is. So you want to win with 3 gens left? 4?

Killer gameplay is different to survivor gameplay. It will be more pressure as all the responsibility is on yourself and there is a time pressure. However this does not mean the game is unbalanced. Likewise early gens are intended to go faster than late gens. I think many killers do not understand the design of the game.

Killers for some reason have this feeling that they have lost if 2 survivors escape. They get extremely salty about it but that is how the game is designed - for 2 survivors to escape on average. They should not be getting 3k/4k every game.

What about when they get matched with a brown or a yellow rank killer? Did you see them slaughter red ranks too? All this does is prove that this stupid ass game never should have had ranks to begin with, because BVHR clearly don't know what they're doing.

    I kid you not....

Last night I had a timid baby Claudette on my team. Jake was on hook (he was going down in 5 seconds each chase), I was trying to unhook him but Huntress was “patrolling” aka camping, and Nea was busy on the far side of the map.

I go for Jake but Huntress chases me off. As I run away I hear crows. Claudette had been hiding so long scared of the huntress lullaby she had crows, despite Huntress clearly aiming at me then and not jake on the hook claudette who was the closest person there allowed Jake to die on hook.

I run nearby to that a few minutes later and Huntress is chasing everyone and I still hear crows. Go to a locker and theres 3 crows on it. She had been in there absolutely ages. I had to force her out.

This person was rank 4 btw

Didn’t even seem like they were messing about. Genuinely seemed like a noob Claudette.

His stalk mechanic is buggy as hell but hes not a cheap killer or the go to killer for campers. His stalk mechanic is just as likely to fail him as it is to actually work in his behalf. Furthermore camping a hook in stalk is probably the easiest way to lose your power, as hooked survivors are the best at revealing him. They have 360 degree view while hooked and can reveal him from behind walls. through walls, through corn. They need to make his mechanic more consistent so both survivors and killers know when it will work or when he get revealed. As for camping killers, Bubba will always be the go-to for camping. His fast one hit down with an area of effect element allows for multiple downs on demand when camping.

Its definitely buggy in his favour. Very much so. On odd occasions you can be revealed behind a rock but that doesnt compare to all the free hits or even instadowns you will get as survivors struggle to reveal him.

As for camping I can actually count on one hand the number of Ghostfaces I’ve seen that dont camp the hook. I say that with no exagerration. Its not hard to break los with a hooked survivor. Just hook them in the jungle gym and walk around the outside for example. You can go in a game against a Leatherface and only a minority will camp. With a wraith its about a 50/50 chance. With GF though its pretty much guarenteed they will camp the hook in that game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1040979#Comment_1040979

that's not a problem with players Its the game itself, instead of calling for a nerf call for them to work on the mechanic. because I can tell you after playing ghost face for several hours stalking doesnt always work .

-dedicated servers makes leaning impossible sometimes

    - you cant stalk through corn but survivors can break you out of corn (and behind cover)

-you can get broken out of stealth even from behind cover.

Also a lot of survivors dont know how to break him out of stealth, you have to make sure he is directly in the middle of your screen. make sure your character is not in the way at all.

so in the end players are not abusing ghost face like survivors are abusing DS. it's the devs who messed up with the reveal mechanic. so instead of asking for nerfs ask for them to look at it .

Lmao ive played him too and you can be slap bang in front of a survivor stalking them and they dont even start to reveal you.

Hes just an awful, awful cheap killer. The go-to killer for campers.

DS/BT are not anti-tunnel perks at red ranks, they are offensive perks there.

That wont affect you too much if you dont allow them to?

Thats my point. “Oh no that survivor just hooked in front of my face before I even had time to leave! Oh wait the one that unhooked is fresh meat”

If a single pallet or couple seconds added to a chase by DH causes you to lose a chase, you lost that chase before it started. They outplayed you. You can bait out a DH fairly easy, mind game it, If a survivor is so good they are looping you for the 3+ gens, you should have abandoned that chase almost immediately. You need to learn to spot who to chase and who not to chase rather fast at higher ranks or you lost the match already. Its a once per chase use perk with a 40 second cooldown of walking or standing still to recuperate. Dedicated servers screw over DH about half the time.

    Nobody said it loses chase.

What I’m saying is its a perk that extends the chase and its only purpose is to extend the chase and if you’re chasing a survivor there likely isn’t too many other options nearby and you’re not even playing in a dirty way.

vs DS where you know the survivor was unhooked less than 60 seconds ago, you’re choosing to tunnel, you’ve likely got the guy who just unhooked nearby and the perk at least serves a purpose as helping a survivor who is being singled out.

Or maybe I just see other perks as more annoying because I don’t camp/tunnel therefore DS/BT have little effect against me.

  • I always use to find him fun, although a specific build and map combo was annoying.

That build and map combo is even stronger now lol especially with new Ruin but no I don’t hate Doctor. When DS works he will be ok.
