No, I want the game to be balanced around good players, regardless of role. And right now if you compare good survivors to good killers, the latter comes up much shorter.

And yet I watch killer mains stream and rhey 4k almost every game against rank 1s and rank 2s

Do they all just happen to be bad survivors?

  • This is what bugs me...

The devs say recently they don’t like old Ruin because it put pressure on the survivors with no effort from the killer.

They don’t like all these slowdown perks because they’re obnoxious.

Yet here we have a killer who with no effort on his part gets free slowdown on survivors with add ons and then has them running across the entire map or blowing up their own gens to wake up. All that for free with no effort.

I don’t hate Freddy. His powers are fine. The way the sleep mechanic has been done though and his slowdown add ons just feels dull.

"Survivors are bad so we should never balance around players who are actually good." Or maybe fix matchmaking and balance around good players. I hate how your fallback every time is "but survivor players aren't good".

Oh please as if you dont expect the game to be balanced around bad killers.

I see so many, they chase one survivor for 5 gens. They tunnel one off hook ignoring other survivors. They allow survivors to lure them to the edge of the map or areas with no gens. They make so many mistakes then cry the words “genrush” post game.

The game shouldn’t be balanced around bad killers. Plenty of good players are getting kills.

  • @TheDarkWall said:

While personally I don't bother slugging for 4k for the most part as I simply don't care enough and still see it as a win if a survivor gets hatch, I understand why others do it. The hatch in and of itself is a win that has not been earned at any capacity. It is kept in the game to give survivors a small chance to survive even when they've not earned it so that they don't just take the game hostage and hide non stop. But none of that changes that they have not earned that escape. So the odds aren't in their favor for getting it anymore (which it shouldn't be given the nature of the hatch), but if a killer can do something to make it so that the dice roll of you getting an unearned escape never happens, then it's perfectly reasonable to do so.

Who says they haven’t earned it?

I have to put in more effort as survivor than I do killer. Some games I get more than twice as many points as the next survivor.

The team didn’t earn it but it didn’t mean specific survivors didn’t work their ass off in that game to carry the dead weight.

  • Tell that to the people on here that are convinced survivor is just about holding M1

  • God killer mains are the whiniest and most entitled players of all.

I’ve been playing solo a lot recently and you lose game after game after hame after game after game. I have to put in so much effort, come top of the scoreboard everytime but can not carry my team of numpties to victory.

Do you see me complaining? Or asking for buff after buff? Or nerf after nerf after nerf?

No I suck it up and deal with it.

Killers are fine right now. I play solo and the chance of escaping is about 10%. I play killer against red ranks and I can still do ok. Win most games and normally guaranteed 2k minimum.

Sure 4 people all on comms can be annoying on some maps but by and large most survivors groups are fine.

A hook. Which is about 8% of your objective. While, on the other hand, Survivors have done 40% of theirs.

That doesn't work logistically. It should be like, 15-20% to 40%

I went against a Freddy earlier. We had 3 gens done before he even had a hook. We never got another gen done after that.

Bad survivors yadda yadda but the point is the killer puts out more pressure later, and the later gens are easier to protect. They’re likely to be closer to the centre, the killer has less gens to patrol, and Pop can be extremely powerful at defending gens.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

First off, turn off chat maybe? In case it bothers you.

Devs said “expect 2 gens to pop in first 4 minutes” especially on bigger maps, apparently.

2 things in response to that:

    1. With new ruin, I had 2 games last couple days where only 1 gen was done. 4K. So much for “expect 2 to pop”.
    2. Why have survivors repair 5 gens then? Why not just have them repair 3, and put all those gens fairly close.

Anyway, OP, I feel your pain. I tried Legion for the first time 2 weeks ago and the stun after FF is just too much. I don’t know what’s worse, that, or nurse’s stun after she blinks. I stopped playing both in favor of the fun and amazing new Doctor.

Because the idea is while the survivors are doing the first 2 gens you’re chasing and going for a hook. Also the gens that pop the fastest are normally the outside gens which are irrelevant.

Scenario 1: You don't slug the last survivor. You don't know where the hatch is. Odds of finding survivor or hatch is ???%. Maybe you have BBQ (which has counterplay). If you find the hatch, gates are powered. Chances of finding survivor before or at a gate ???% (unless the gates are super closed together, which is RNG). Nothing is sure. I'm just taking random chances at this point.

Scenario 2:You slug the last survivor (and they already used unbreakable or don't have it). Survivor (does not have key) must either make their way to save the downed survivor or risk a gen. Chances of success for killer +++%.

The first scenario is all chance. I, as the killer, am not obligated to give a chance at the hatch, especially when I'm weakening my own position to kill you. Which is my job. To kill you.

In the latter scenario, i'm already assuming two things. That unbreakable was already used or not in play. And the 4th survivor doesn't have a key. If either one of those are in the game. I lose my slug or the other survivor escapes anyways.

This is a survivor's rule book type of deal.

Killer moves faster than survivor and killer can move freely whereas survivor has to stealth. Killer will find the hatch 9 times out of 10.

Its not a survivor rulebook deal, its cutting out the boredom deal....like when they had to create EGC because killers didnt want to walk to exit gates and hit survivors out

Yeah that perk that can be prevented from the get-go, right? Man if only there was a way to counter it- like Killers can counter decisive, right? Oh wait...

I'll agree that insta hatches are in need to be nerfed, but Billy and NOED are no where near a problem. His addons need to be looked at- but his base kit is fine and should be left alone.

Yeah because running around a huge map looking for 5 little totems and cleansing all of them to stop the killer from having godlike power is so much easier than.....simply not picking up the guy who got off the hook for 60 seconds just to avoid a 5 second stun lmao

  • Umm....the killer can close the hatch now in case you didn’t know.

It just stops the game from dragging out.

Pick up survivor -> they’re down again -> pick up again -> they’re down again - pick up again etc

  • @xCarrie said:

Why are people saying Billy? He’s like the most balanced. 😐

Of course he is. Billy and NOED, the two most balanced things in the entire game.

It’s Decisive strike that’s the problem! That 5 second stun really does make Billy, NOED, Iri heads, instasaw and moris look tame in comparison.

  • Its been a longtime coming. He should have been hit before Spirit.

  • Its best when they camp so you tbag at the end, then they call you toxic, you mention their camping and their excuse is “i camped because you tbagged” lmao YOU CAMPED 5 MINUTES BEFORE I TBAGGED!!!!”

Some of them have a real persecution complex

    • Camping once exit gates open - Makes sense
    • Camping with one survivor on hook and one gen left next to them that is 99% complete - makes sense
    • Getting your first hook in under a minute and resorting to camping before any gens are done - it is THIS that people hate. It shows that the killer has already decided how this game is going to pan out.
  • @thesuicidefox said:

People are really sleeping on the new Ruin. It's actually still a very good perk, especially combined with Surveillance. If you play a killer that can scramble survivors or push them off gens from a distance it is very strong. Basically any time you catch a survivor on that gen you save time kicking the gen AND chances are it will fully regress before that survivor or another come around to repair it.

I've already had games where it's like "we need to find this Ruin or we won't get out". The only MAJOR difference between it and old Ruin is that you need to actively push survivors off the gens for it to be useful. If you NEVER pressure gens then yea it will seem useless. A lot of killers never learned this skill because old Ruin did the pressuring for them. Then they come hear and complain instead of trying to pressure gens. If you pressure gens with new Ruin you can slow down the game IMMENSELY.

And for alternative options, Thana, Pop, Sloppy, Dying Light... all these perks do a good job too. But all of them require some skill on the killers end to get benefit from, hence why a lot of killers don't like them or new Ruin. They don't want to put in the effort to defend gens, they just want to find survivor - chase survivor - down survivor - hook survivor, like a bot.

New Ruin is arguably more annoying than old Ruin, especially for solos.

Old Ruin - work on a gen. miss a skillcheck or two. Killer manages to stop me before its finished thanks to the delay but that progress is there.

New Ruin - do half a gen. Killer hooks a survivor then comes over to me, chases me away, by the time I’ve evaded the killer and maybe healed ALL progress on the gen is gone.

Of course killer mains dont see this because they’ve never gone against it. They just see 2 gens popping on the edge of the map assume Ruin is worthless and that the game is a loss.

  • Heres the way it is and I’m going to be blunt...

    Moris

Survivors see a mori on the offering screen. They know they’re going to get taken out earlier than usual. They know it’s going to impact their ability to pip. They know it’s going to affect the points they earn.

What reason do they have to not quit on the loading screen?

Now before anyone has a go at me I am NOT endorsing that, I’m simply asking what incentive do they have to stay in the game? Some sort of moral code? Because it’s wrong?

One solution would be to make moris available on death hook only as has been suggested many times.

Another would be that if the killer uses an ebony mori, it acts as 2bps for survivors perhaps and maybe safety pip requirement is lowered for that game. Or just points whatever.

This way there would be an incentive for them to stay in. “Well I’m going to die early in this game and not likely to win but hey at least I’m going to get some decent points”

This allows killers to have their fun with moris and it offers something for the survivors too. Thats the way they seem to want to take this game - making it fun for both sides.

Likewise for killers. They see a key on the offering screen, what incentive do they have to not lobby dodge? They know that if they kill a few survivors then the remaining few get to escape early.

Now let me repeat again I am not endorsing any of this I’m simply pointing out that with moris and keys each side feels they are being cheated. If they aren’t going to be nerfed and that is becoming increasingly clear now then some kind of incentive should be offered to the opposing side.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1036043#Comment_1036043

Well that’s a potato teammate issue, not the killer. Welcome to solo games.

Not really. Any other killer you can run and hope for the best lol

  • Its true.

When killers commit to chasing one survivor for 5 minutes now the gens actually get done. No more Ruin to carry them.

  • Its risky because theres no guarantee they’re going to block it successfully also the other survivor would have to sprint, hoping the person doing the rescue can tank the hit before the guy unhooked sets off a trap.

Basically in a solo game if you don’t have DS you’re likely dead.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1035506#Comment_1035506

You just listed several counters, so I don’t see the issue. The unhooker could also take a hit to make sure the hooked person is safe.

    Lmao

    Try reading it again.

I explained why none of those situations would actually work. Your only counters are DS or hoping the other person has BT realistically. You cant control the perks that other people bring either so...

  • @Flarefire_Xx said:

He is completely fine, your just an in titled survivor main complaining and saying that any killer you can’t escape against every time needs a nerf, this is the problem with the game.

    Oh the irony.

People give their opinions and balance and all they ever get in response is arrogant posts basically saying “you’re an entitled survivor, stop asking for everything nerfed, nothing needs nerfing git gud”

But sure its everyone else that is entitled...

You're also someone who consistently says Billy is somehow OP and has no downside. So I agree with @underlord99. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you have a very skewed idea of what both "overpowered" and "balance" is. This is just a matter of you needing to get better.

    😎

Meanwhile you moan about pretty much every single thing that survivors have and gen times.

But you don’t need to get better oh no. When you complain it’s definitely balance related and nothing to do with your skill at all.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1035785#Comment_1035785

True, but DH is skill-based. Their is Killer and Survivor interaction.

BT is over-tuned in my opinion. Every time Legion gets nerfed, BT gets buffed.

I've honestly never seen a Killer successfully do the Adrenaline tech, not gonna lie.

Lol DH isnt skill based at all. A survivor runs forwards towards a pallet.....if they’re a few metres short they tap E and hey presto, a free pallet.

BT at least serves a purpose of helping survivors that are being camped. Likewise DS helps those being tunneled. Exhaustion perks and adrenaline are just free time wasters for a survivor who isn’t being treat unfairly.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1035611#Comment_1035611

DS is the most impactful perk in the entire game. Even if you don't have it, Killers will respect it because they know that starting a chase all over again will cost them 2-3 gens, especially now.

Lol no. DS is not the most impactful perk in the game.

  • I honestly don’t get why killers are in a rampage against DS. It’s the least problematic perk imo. You just go for the rescuer or slug and it deals with 99% of situations.

Exhaustion perks and Adrenaline are much more frustrating. Last game I had I chase a survivor, they drop get balanced and sprint forward, I catch up and adrenaline kicks in and heals them and they boost off again. Literally hold forward gaming to waste all of the killers time.

DS is a drop in the ocean compared to all that.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    Killer camps hook.

Survivor A baits a hit to get other survivor B unhooked.

Killer downs survivor A. and tunnels survivor B.

Killer downs survivor B, and proceeds to hook survivor A.

    Survivor B loses DS.

    Rinse repeat.

DS is fine as it is right now.

So glad somebody else realises this.

Killers with instadown like Billy camping the basement would be especially effective.

Just dont tunnel and DS isn’t a problem

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1034809#Comment_1034809

lmao if hag puts 8 traps around the hook, then you are going against beginner rank ''18 '' hag.

And if you die to low skilled hag then my friend....

The whole argument was how do you help a survivor when a Hag is running back to the hook to tunnel and she’s trapped the hell out of the hook - without relying on perks.

Love how you give such a toxic reply though just to defend the killer side.

Also all hags trap the hook excessively, all of them.

  • It used to be old DS. Any situation involving it.

    As for now...

Had one game where one survivor on hook, one slugged in front of them, one trying to unhook but it was The Game so i couldnt quite see him and it was hard to hear where exactly he was with the sound being bugged. Anyway he realized he couldnt unhook so ran to finish a gen that was 95% as I was looking for him as thats where I found him.

I see him on it and he finishes it in front of me. Adrenaline pops and he gets healed and zooms off, guy on the floor gets up with adrenaline and then unhooks the other guy who was at full health thanks to adrenaline.

But yeah apparently Adrenaline isn’t comparable to NOED....

Likewise seeing garbage killers camp a hook or tunnel one person then they get rewarded with a few extra kills at the end of the game thanks to NOED after doing nothing to earn them. Meanwhile you see better players not use NOED and get less kills for it.

I hate the endgame crutches. Neither should exist.

  • DS is fine just don’t tunnel, or leave them slugged.

  • @underlord99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1034797#Comment_1034797

you said "what are you supposed to do when unhooking someone over a trap?"

you're acting like it's impossible and that she's the strongest killer in the game. all you have to do to counter her is crouch away lmao.

No, I specifically said when she comes running back to the hook. Don’t try to change the argument.

If the unhooked survivor runs, they set off a trap and get hit.

If the unhooked survivor crouch walks away, they move too slow the Hag catches them and they get hit.

If they wait to be healed, the Hag will be back before they’re healed fully and they get hit.

Again the only option is to bring DS or hope the other survivor is willing to take a hit or running a perk that would help (BT, We’ll Make It)

  • No I play more now.

  • @kreX said:

not really, there were maybe two games with a mori and 2-3 with op addons per day on average. but what's going on now is just bullshit.

waiting for 15min in survivor que for a bullshit 3min game.

maybe im going for an immersed build and sneak around all the time just to have a bit more play time instead of waiting time.

Its exactly the same as before for me. The only benefit is that no Ruin gives them less camping time.

  • It was like this before the Ruin nerf.

  • @Cabbage said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1034892#Comment_1034892

Always assume they have dead hard cause like 60% of the time they do, so just wait for them to waste it and then take a swing.

But im talking about those situations where they’re close to a pallet or vault and they use DH for distance.

Theres no wasting it because its the very act of using Dead Hard that gives them the extra distance they need to reach the pallet as opposed to going down a meter before it.

  • @Cabbage said:

There not gonna nerf it, it's always had bugs and has gotten questionable on dedicated servers anyway, it's not too bad anyway unlike the stun you get with decisive.

But you can avoid Decisive by not tunnelling, or if they run in front of you then slugging.

Dead Hard if used for distance...theres nothing you can do. They make it to the free pallet.

I dont hate DS that much as killer but DH is starting to drive me crazy. You’re finally about to get them before they make the pallet and oops no, slight dash forward and now you’ve lost the hit and they’re at an extremely safe pallet you have to break.

  • I say this without exaggeration...

The DBD reddit is hands down the worst internet community I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been roaming the internet since the early 2000s.

It’s just Legion and Ghostface edgelords downvoting anything that goes against the hive mind. They also have a creepy obsession with Legion and somehow think he’s a thousand times weaker than any other killer and that BHVR hates him and purposefully tries to gimp him.

I remember seeing a guy get downvoted into oblivion there because he said it was wrong to d/c to give your friend the hatch.

Taking a hit for myteammate, make the killer chase me and using environment to make my escape. Like, DS is not the only option. I mean it is, for noob survivors.

Taking a hit? You can try but its not guaranteed, not when the unhooked survivor panics and runs off setting off all the traps in the process (hag players always put 8 traps around the hook).

You must play with voice comms.

I play the game so I can actually. Nice troll about Hag. All I said was that there is nothing you can do in one specific scenario - a point which you never refuted. Never specifically said the killer was OP.

Dont deserve it? Lmao they dont stand any chance when the killer is circling the hook.

At least with NOED the killer has a chance to stop the gens being done.
