false. I complained about DS being abused. even the devs have stated that its not being used as intended .

Also there are several people who dont mind playing against ghost face myself includer (rank 3 survivor and rank 1 killer)

And even ghostface players know his reveal mechanic is completely busted and not working as intended.

  • @FleshTorpedo said:

DS, BT, and Adrenaline are fine by themselves. Its only when used in means outside of the anti tunneling intended by the devs, that most complaints come from. They are hardly used as anti-tunneling skills at red ranks, they are used in a manner to give survivors 2 minutes or so of invulnerability or get out of jail free cards against the killer. SWF all running meta perks can trade off those 2 minutes of invulnerability that essentially makes the killer useless. Its usually done at EGC if well executed by the survivors.

And if you are bitching about Dead Hard as a killer you are a straight up rank 20 killer. its by far the one perk survivors have that rewards skillful play and execution, especially when the dedicated servers take a #########.

You can slug all you want but when you slug 3 survivors after a team bodyblocks an unhook with BT, DS and Adrenaline, and that one BT unhook taps a 99'd gen, all 3 of those slugs now turn into the Flash.

Its the not the perks that cause frustration its how they are used at higher ranks, that causes frustration.

As a Killer main, I dont blame any survivor for running these perks or using them in this manner. They are there to be used and if you are not using them, then you are gimping yourselves. Its up to the devs to balance their game.

DH rewards skill? Tap E when running towards a pallet?

If you use it to dodge then yeah but most good survivors know to use it for distance. At that point there’s nothing the killer can do. Those few extra inches they get is the difference between getting hit at a pallet and getting the safe pallet drop.

Adrenaline is bad yeah because it has no purpose other than to screw the killer at the last second.

BT and DS while they can be strong and used to an advantage at least they serve the purpose of helping survivors have a bit more time in the game than getting camped/tunneled out instantly. It helps the game health because having the killer circle the hook and known you down immediately is a massive flaw in the game which really hurts peoples enjoyment.

  • It would certainly be interesting if they buffed the wobble.

  • He seems to be unfun to the vast majority of people that put any time into survivor.

Also lol you’ve done nothing but complain about DS because it’s “unfun” to you.

  • What if it just highlighted P3 claudettes that are crouched?

  • Its basically a third health state for survivors.

  • The only killers that need nerfing are Hillbilly and Ghostface.

Hillbilly because he has too many strengths with little downsides and Ghostface because he’s hands down the worst killer BHVR has ever created. While not specifically OP he just sucks so much fun out of the game.

Not really. If the killer has reached endgame with 3-4 left, the game is pretty much lost. At that point you are happy with 1 or 2. As a killer, I much prefer to run perks that help before the gens are done.

Thats the point. One perk turns the loss into at least a draw.

Thats a hell of a thing for one perk. Only adrenaline can do that if all survivors take it.

  • The fact that people are so up in arms about Ruin speaks volumes.

I used it on a number of killers but I’m not gutted that it got changed. Given how angry people are about the change it really does seem that it was acting as a “crutch” for a number of people. I don’t mind for that to sound like I’m making fun of anyone it just comes across that people were putting too much value on this one perk to let them win games.

Yeah I didnt read the whole forum but the post is about NOED not DS, BT, DH or adrenaline. Anytime you get a killer that seems to be playing bad I ALWAYS assume NOED and start cleansing. It doesnt matter as other survivors dont but oh well.

So a bad player gets the biggest slowdown in the game or instadowns.

    Nice perk.

  • @Karl_Childers said:

So you see no issue with winning 20 games in a row at rank 1? Instead your conclusion is just to nerf the perk that prevents that outcome from being the norm? If DS needs a nerf, then maybe new Doc does as well? 😮

Lol this is the truth isn’t it. That only when they dominate with a stress free game do they consider the game to be balanced.

I watched tru3talent’s stream earlier. Now I don’t have anything against the guy but he constantly complains the game is unfair and some things I agree with him on.

So anyway he gets the 4k with 5 gens still standing then he goes on to say “I told you at the start we could do ok because its a smaller, more balanced map”

Now im not going to pretend some maps dont feel too large but again its only when its 4 man 5 gens stress free that people feel the game is fair.

Obvi your issue is map design and totem placements. If NOED triggers its you and your teams fault. If survivors had a similar perk obvi it would be the killers fault for not stopping it in the first place. Typical survivor main complaining about killers and they're perks lmao.

Guess you missed the entire forum complaining about DS and BT because they can't just leave the hook and chase other survivors?

  • It feels like it's 24% anyway if you play killer.

  • @underlord99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1040440#Comment_1040440

so then would you also have a problem with haunted grounds ?

HG doesn't guarantee and extra kill, it only lasts 60 seconds and doesn't provide the speed boost.

  • They want to split each killer character into their own rank/skill queue too, so you will be judged on each killer and how you perform with them

    Huntress - hatchet accuracy

Trapper - survivors caught in traps per game

    Leatherface - Total basement time

    etc

  • People said Nurse and spirit didn't need the nerf and that they're garbage now and useless......still genuinely two of the strongest killers in the game.

People need to stop acting like a minor nerf is the end of the world.

    P.s nerf Billy.

The better question is how are they calculating everyone's skill level?

    Total minutes looping

  • I agree. I don't see why Legion got his own realm but Plague didn't.

It's not a knock on Legion. It's just that ancient Babylon evokes imagery of a very specific setting. Whereas Legion could have theoretically been put anywhere.

  • Lets just think about this for a moment...

    1) Killers complain about being ranked with 10,000 hour elite looper survivors - You used to get these at green ranks. People simply didn't play enough to rank up.

    2) Survivors complain about being put with potatoes - New rank reset allows people that aren't very good to boost to red ranks then jeopardize games.

Theoretically a new skill system would solve both killer and survivor complaints. The question is, can they pull it off? it's certainly an ambitious undertaking.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1040346#Comment_1040346

Oh well. I have around 2000 hours as killer and survivor, and in that time, a very low percentage of games have been significantly impacted by NOED. It usually means that the killer gets an extra one or two. They only steamroll if the team is stupid.

That's the thing, a perk which generates an extra kill or two is pretty damn powerful, no?

  • Ive seen green ranks slaughter red ranks.

I know this looks bad but I can not stress enough that most red rank survivors would be around rank 10 like the killer with old rank reset.

All the genuine skilled survivors seem to be rank 1

The catch is exactly that: they aren't judging if you win or lose rather if you did well or not. I assume that if you did a great job but the others don't then you "won" and they "lose".

Hopefully. I’m so sick of getting a team of 3 other survivors who all decide to go cuddle up to Myers in tier 3.

This shouldn’t be happening at red ranks!

  • New Ruin is really powerful on Pig I discovered since she can force survivors off gens. Add in perks like sloppy to slow the others down and it starts to get nasty.

The designer just so happens to be a Pig main 🤔

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1040085#Comment_1040085

Um no, ds has come into play even when I wasn’t looking for that survivor. Killers can do well by abandoning it only if the survivors are weak.

And I go down to NOED after doing 4 totems and spending 5 minutes looking for the 5th but to no avail.

    Sucks eh?

  • Oh boy here we go.

Current ranks are messed up no doubt about it. The new rank reset has put allowed all the potatoes into red ranks. Meanwhile old rank reset did have plenty of toxic 4000hour tbaggers at green ranks who just didn’t play that much.

I’d like to believe this system will be better I really would. However I forsee myself getting put with potatoes, dying with no gens done then being put with more potatoes resulting in a neverending spiral until I end up at the bottom of matchmaking with the rank 20s who go an entire trial without even touching a gen.

I’d like to know exactly what they’re counting as a win and what they’re using to determine skill.

I'm survivor main. I'm asking for it to be harder for me. I'm literally asking to get better, unlike yourself, demanding nerfs to balanced killers. Keep shooting. You'll keep missing. There is no version of this where you're right.

Yes you’re a survivor main.....and I’m the Queen of England.

    • Don’t run to the hook when the killer is chasing you
    • Don’t give the killer a free hook by hooktrading
    • Don’t go for basement unhooks unless you have Borrowed Time
    • Rush the inner gens first with another survivor. Try to leave them spread out for the end.
    • Cleanse any dull totems you see.
    • Trigger a Hag trap to activate Borrowed Time. She’s gonna run back to the hook if you unhook anyway.
    • If the killer has you slugged move away from other slugged or hooked survivors.
    • Don’t go for great skill checks unless you’re an a pro. A good skillcheck is far better than a failed skillcheck.
    • Don’t loop the basement area while injured.
  • When it first came out I thought it caused actual exhaustion.

    e.g.

Survivor touches a gen. They are know exhausted for 40 seconds. When the gen reaches 50%, the exhaustion starts cooling down over 40 seconds until it reaches zero.

When I found out that once the gen reaches 50% the exhaustion immediately disappears....yeah thats when I put this perk in the trash heap.

  • All these people blaming it on the game lol

I’ve seen killers camp with no gens done and old Ruin still up.

People will camp no matter what if they want to.

  • When NOED changes.

Its easy to throw the game taking one survivor out knowing you have a crutch that will net you at least another kill, maybe more.

  • @underlord99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1039974#Comment_1039974

I mean it's not the most powerful crutch perk ( DH used properly for distance) theres no counter to that . meanwhile there are several counters to noed 1. small game 2. detectives hunch 3. maps 4. learn totem spawn points 5. do totems on your way to gens .

I think its the amount of time requires to combat one perk. Running around the map trying to cleanse totems takes time, often get interrupted which resets progress, and you need to find all five.

Its a hell of a lot of work for solo players, id they dont the killer gets turbo speed and unlimited instadowns on M1

The counter to DS for example is just dont pick them up

A generator that is at 99.99% takes 320 seconds to regress a generator with ruin fully upgraded takes about 100 seconds to fully regress. If you were gone for almost 2 minutes as is then it would have lost a third of its progress already anyway.

All I can say is going against it you can definitely see its power. It's not as consistent as before, it depends on how much pressure you apply but if you get the survivors off gens it is devasting.

Old Ruin only stalled progress, new ruin deletes it. Also some survivors could work through ruin, or skillchecks were infrequent, there's no shortcut around new ruin unless you have 3-4 people on voice chat.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1033400#Comment_1033400

    1) not everyone runs bbq

    2) why would i go to a far away gen, in a safe zone, not close to other gens? That’s a losing strategy. It’s more effective to stay near the hook.

So you wait around the hook trying to deny unhooks and then you complain about DS.

Umm, that's the reason DS was brought in.

  • @Sabor44 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1039831#Comment_1039831

I strongly disagree. Playing over 50 matches this weekend it actually ENCOURAGES survivors to stay near gens. Even ones that killers patrol I see survivors rush to finish the gens because time is of the essence to get them done before they regress. I only played about 7-8 survivor matches, the two killers that ran ruin I would rush back to any gen I started unless a killer was hard camping. Before if two people worked a gen and one missed a skill check someone would leave. Now there is absolutely no reason why a group would not hug a generator to ensure it finishes before doing literally anything else.

And if the killer is able to pressure survivors off those gens?

For the kinds of players that allowed a survivor to loop them for 2 minutes then yeah its worthless.

For protecting gens on the far edges of the map then yeah its likely going to do little

For controlling the most strategic gens on the map though near the centre? Or for killers who are able to keep all survivors busy? Its arguably far more powerful.

  • @underlord99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1039732#Comment_1039732

you're still not understanding the point. the devs have stated several times that ds is a anti tunnel perk , survivors abuse it by doing stuff like going for the save . or getting on a gen only to be grabbed off it after another survivor has been hooked.

Just slug them. If you lunge when they’re on a gen you hit them instead of grabbing them.

I find it funny how people here complain about DS night and day.

Old DS was awful, absolutely awful. New Ds...there are some situations where it’s annoying by for the most part I dont find myself affected by it that much anymore.

If someone is getting frustrated with DS all the time then I think they need to reflect on their playstyle as its likely more tunneling than they realize.

  • It hasn’t been nerfed. After going against it a number of times it can actually be more powerful than old Ruin.

  • Gen speeds are fine. Survivors don’t need an extra objective. They have totems anyway.

  • @Lmronby said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1033263#Comment_1033263

You fail to realize how long 60 seconds is; a lot can happen between the unhook and when you down the unhooked survivor again

Look up any video from popular content Creators and you'll see they get Dstruck and say "Oh my bad for tunneling" very Ironically

Just dont pick up the guy who just got unhooked for 60 seconds. I don’t see whats so hard. Otherwise eat it, its only a 5 second stun.

Meanwhile killers think its perfectly fine to ask survivors to cleanse 5 totems which is 74 seconds and then theres the travel time on top so you’re talking 2-3 mins minimum otherwise the killer gets a turbo boost and instadowns.

How about you lot take a look in the mirror. You’re asked to do one simple thing and apparantly its too hard but you expect survivors to jump through all kinds of hoops. Now apparantly we dont just need gens the game needs to be changed so we collect 50 golden trinkets and 20 silver jingamabobs before we can even touch a gen. lmao what is this a 90’s platformer?

  • Well we do bring anti-tunnel perks but there seems to be a campaign online to get them nerfed into irrelevance.

  • Cote used to be really bad at killer but to his credit I saw him on stream last year and he had improved a fair bit. Not a pro but nowhere near as green as he used to be.

I think he was playing old Freddy which suited him better. He used to play Hag a lot but never used traps, just chased. With that playstyle he’s far better off with someone at 115% speed.

Also he’s like the only green rank that doesn’t rely on NOED. Don’t think he used Ruin either. “No crutches Cotè” they called him. So credit where it’s due.

  • When I see Ghostfaces exposed icon appear on a survivor in the bottom left, the deep wounds timer, or hear the hillbillys chainsaw.

Those tell me theres going to be no fun in this game.

Previously it was hawkins because that meant Ruin was up all game

  • Maybe they wanted totems or points.

Survivors in general dont often play very smart. They probably thought they had the game in the bag and got cocky

  • Killers are camping/tunneling just as much as they did before the re-work and in some situations new Ruin is actually more powerful than old Ruin.

"God killer mains are the whiniest and most entitled players of all."

Just stop comparing sides please? Both sides have whiny people no need to say killer mains are whiny. Remember survivors review bombed DbD I think on two occasions (I know they definitely did it once), would it be fair for me to call all survivor mains whiny? No it's not because you cannot judge a side on other people's behavior at all.

I agree, I’m just used to everyone here doing that already.

You cant discuss anything about a killer without people jumping down your throat putting you in a box and saying you’re part of some campaign group looking to get killers nerfed into the ground :(

  • @OperationMintyHippo said:

I tested it as a killer on Thompson House and this survivor was just literally running from pallet to pallet, throwing each one down and leaving. No mind games, nothing. And 4 gens had popped before I had gotten him lol. Maps are so bad. This ruin nerf came at a horrible time.

As survivor, I just sit on gens while one dude gets chased. Too easy. Too boring. Not fun to play either side anymore imo.

So you chase a survivor from pallet to pallet to pallet to pallet to pallet while gens are popping all around you left and right....

Do you not see the problem there? Play smarter, not harder. You don’t NEED to chase one survivor until they’re down. That survivor will keep running from pallet to pallet because he knows where he has been and where he is going. He’s likely created a dead zone for you around a generator or two.

100% agree. But I hate Freddy. I think he is the most braindead Killer currently, because his Snares are simply reverse-bloodlusting. I also agree regarding his Sleep Mechanic, but I would say, this is the best solution. Because if either the Survivors would not fall asleep over time or they would not fall asleep when getting hit by Freddy, this would be a huge impact on his power. Imagine chasing someone for almost a full minute (or 90 seconds, when woken up with a Clock) without using Snares or Pallets on them. Or, when they only fall asleep by getting hit, which also results in immunity while being chased and also no Reduction of the Teleport Cooldown would be possible.

So while the Sleep Mechanic is not really something I like, it is how it has to work.

Power-wise I think Freddy is fine.

    __

Regarding Billy: Basekit Billy is fine, maybe they will do something about his Mobility. But personally, I only have a problem with Insta Saw, Tuning Guide and Cooldown Add Ons, not so much with the Basekit.

    __

Regarding Ghostface: First they need to fix him. His Reveal Mechanic is broken for both sides. And they need to look into his Stalking Mechanic, because the best way is to play him without Stalking, and this is something that needs to be looked at. Not by a straight Nerf, but making his Stalking somewhat worth to use.

It's not so much the sleep as it is the slowdown add ons when combined with thana, dying light, ruin and pop.

Also I think it's the oblivious rather than the sleep. Borrowed doesn't work, lullaby makes no sense on a killer thats so fast with a 32m terror radius. At least on Huntress shes slow and has a 45m radius so it makes sense she gets the non-directional lullaby to get closer to survivors. Then theres the constant grey foggy effect and underwater sound on everything. I don't like it. They should dial it back a bit.

I don't mind him being strong I just dont like that trippy effect there all game with no effort required on freddy.

  • I always hated the old rank reset because every month you had to grind to ranks where survivor was actually enjoyable. I always thought new rank reset would be perfect. However I was completely wrong. New rank reset has completely messed up red ranks. Most of the players and even killers don’t belong there. The games feel like green rank games, where people are getting pulled out of lockers left and right.

As killer its a bit better. Red rank games are less sweaty now because so many numpties are there rather than legit red ranks.

  • All I’m seeing is excuses to be honest. Most survivors you will come across aren’t that great, but the same applies to killers.

Then people keep saying the red rank survivors are unstoppable but all data shows killers are doing fine so it can’t just be streamers.

Someone asked for Pig buffs the other say and Almo says all their data shows she is performing well.

    Killers are getting kills.

Imo Doc was one of the worst and now he’s extremely good. Maybe a few other killers could have tweaks but a good portion of the roster is completely viable.

1 … 52 53 54 55 56 … 63
