Fair and balanced that a huge map is more survivor sided, requiring a killer to go around and try and defend 7 gens with 4 survivors running around. The fact that NOED can still be cleansed after gates are powered. The fact it doesn't guarantee a down.
Lmao course it guarantees a down. I’ve never seen it not.
Killer mains will defend anything and try to justify it. Even if you had to run around for 10 totems they’d justify it.
If survivors had a perk like this you’d have made such a fuss on the forums it would have been nerfed into dust long ago.

Yes, because its camping when you turn around to go check on a gen and survivor with BT unhooks them while within a meter of you. Fair and balanced and takes tons of skill and can be countered by good play. (sarcasm mode)
Read above.
Fair and balanced that you need to forsake all other points in the game to tun around a huge map and take out 5 totems which is more than another generators worth of time in the game all to stop one perk which turns the killer into an unstoppable god.
-
@Colton147 Might have some tips. He plays Clown and can pressure the map extremely well.

yes because a survivor unhooking another survivor and getting grabbed is "tunneling"
Ok here is the solution
- Just don’t camp hooks
If you go pressure other survivors on gens rather than sitting around waiting for the unhooker to come along you won’t have that problem.

Yep, I sure love tunneling that survivor that got unhooked after I hooked another survivor, kicked a gen, then found them on another gen and downed them after they had healed! I am the best at tunneling. :D
Yep, I sure loved being chased for most of the game or messing about for a few minutes trying to get off a RBT then dying because I didn’t have enough time to scout the entire map for 5 totems before the gens were done.
Great having to run map wide around 1000 mile long maps like mothers dwelling hunting for 5 little totems just to stop a perk that turns the killer into a god and removes the speed penalty from slow movement killers. Seems like a fair exchange.
-
For the killers that are complaining about DS:
- Just don’t tunnel
It’s that simple.

Not trying to be rude or disrespectful but:
Wouldn't this logic apply(In reverse being survivor's asking for nerfs) to you and billy?
Thats one thing after pages and pages of discussing balance issues.
vs
DS - I can’t tunnel now - nerf
Borrowed Time - I can’t camp now - nerf
Adrenaline - That speed boost stops me using my NOED immediatey - nerf
Toolboxes - muh gen speeds - nerf
Gen speeds in general - too quick, nerf
instaheals & keys - nerf (but moris are fine)
Exhaustion perks - I cant catch survivors - nerf
self-care - i dont want survivors healing - nerf
Head on - I dont like being stunned - nerf
etc etc
-
Because in their head its true.
How many times have you seen a killer literally sit around a hook all game then when someone calls them out post-game they say “who camped? Me? Never!”.
People have always played dirty. At least now without Ruin they have less time to camp/tunnel one survivor. Lucky for them they still have Hex: Nobody needs skill to fall back on.

we weren't even talking about DS. I dont know why you brought that up lmao.
Because when killers dont like something its nerf, nerf, nerf and a lot of excuses.
When survivors dont like something its adapt or jump through hoops. No matter how much effort needs to be put in killers will argue some counterplay in some way. Best one is “dont get hooked”.

There are plenty of ways for solos to find totems , I never play with SWF and I have no problems with finding and cleansing .
1. small game
2. detectives
3. maps
4. cleanse totems on your way to another gen
5. not really a counter but advice , totems usually have common spawn points . just try and memories where they can spawn and check those places on your way to another gen or when doing nothing.
like many people have said , this perk lays in the hands of survivors , if they're sole objective is to pump out gens and they get hit with noed then it's on them .
Ok fine.
But if the killer gets hit with DS it’s on them.

You're barking at the wrong killer if you think I'd be complaining about Survivor perks. I'm the guy that says "Anything goes". I also never said either good players or bad players use it. It's a tool, nothing more.
You can't calls somebody good or bad for simply deciding to use the tools at their disposal. Only scrubs do that. That goes for both survivors and killers.
So take your heavily bitter and salty rhetoric and shove it out the nearest airlock please.
Well I’m in the camp that thinks end game crutches like adrenaline and NOED shouldn’t be able to screw the other side at the last second. Nobody likes the blue shell.
I’ll stick those in the airlock instead.
-
@FrenziedRoach NOED rewards bad play. You never see a good player take NOED, it’s always the bad players.
Its hilarious how killers always defend it. You know if it was on the survivor side they would be screaming. Hell they are about Adrenaline and begging for nerfs.
Its hard to stop NOED as a solo survivor. If you run around on a totem hunt you miss out on so much else you wont get points. You have to confirm all 5 are out though, you cant just rely on other survivors. You can run around and not find some, have you missed them? Have they been cleansed? Even small game is no good as it wont tel you if the totem has been destroyed.
People have talked about ways to make NOED fair. You want survivors to do totems? Fine. How about a notification so solo players know how many have been done?
bzzzzz veto’d. Killer mains wont allow it because they dont actually want survivors doing the totems. They want NOED to activate as its far more powerful and easier than having survivors cleansing totems.
With NOED its always “git gud, just cleanse totems” but its funny how when it comes to DS asking them to simply “stop tunneling” and its “DEEEEVS!! NERF PLZ!!”
@almo care to share the actual statistic if you have it? Outside of swf It definitely activates far, far more than survivors cleansing all 5 totems.
I can’t believe the game designer uses NOED. Hmm, then again maybe that explains more than I realise.
Do you stream? When I see Pigs with NOED I get bad vibes. Would nice to be dispel that image.
-
Because they’re bad players and rather than admit it was their own fault they lost for committing to a 4 gen chase they decide to get salty and take it out on you instead.
Or often they can afford to do it because they’ll have NOED as a back up which will guarantee them another kill or two.
-
@Almo said:
If you want to use NOED, go ahead! You play gimped (3 perks) in exchange for maybe getting instadowns after the gens are done. Easily counterable (do totems), it's a risky play.
But it's no end of fun when it works.
I’ve defended you guys on here but now even I’m starting to question how much you play the game.
99% of the time NOED results in instadowns. Theres very little “maybe” about it.
It enables killers to camp and win too. They just sit around the hook making no effort to play, but it doesnt matter because if survivors rush gens as you always say then the killer gets an extra 2 kills anyway. No effort required. Just camp and NOED.
Just had a Wraith who tunneled me off hook and sat outside a locker until my DS ran out. The other survivors did gens. Didn’t matter though because he could afford to apply zero pressure because NOED got him another 2 kills.
You want to stop DS from hurting killers that dont tunnel because its not fun for them? How about stopping NOED from rewarding bad killers that make zero effort to actually protect their gens and just camp hooks or relentlessly tunnel one survivor all game.
-
“So I try some solo. And I think this may be the worst part of the game if you get potato teammates. At least as killer I don't have to rely on others. As solo I am farmed, left on the hook, no one doing gennys, looping around hooked guy, #########, so frustrating.
Then as survivor, killers are running ebony's every game, noed, tunneling off the hook to mori me, setting up camp. Which frustrating as hell, I can understand if they're truly trying to rank up.”
I think this is what a lot of people on this forum don’t realize. They play killer exclusively and act like survivors have it so easy, then you play survivor and get dominated with only 2 gens done because the average survivor is garbage and those are the people on your team game after game after game.
Killer can be stressful but it’s so much easier to win or draw as killer. As survivor now you can’t even rely on the hatch anymore after the EGC change so you’re pretty much gonna die in 9/10 games.
-
Killers dc a lot with party streamers too.
My only theory is that party streamers normally mean OP build. Each side wants to make sure they’re the ones benefitting from the streamers.
Killers will use their best add ons e.g iri heads etc, ruin AND noed (Before the nerf) etc
Survivors would be a smurfing swf (before matchmaking change) with purple flashlights and toolboxes
Some of those have been changed but the idea is there. Other side using party streamers normally means you’re in for a hard game.
-
From what I’ve seen they normally tend to get camped and tunneled out about 2 minutes into the match.
Fun matchmaking.
-
I made a thread about this the other day too.
Its definitely feels like its had its pickrate increased. Not sure why some people are saying its not happening to them though?
For me, like yourself it will be lerys, macmillan, lerys, The game, lerys, lerys, haddonfield, lerys
@Peanits Could you confirm if the chances of lerys has been increased at the moment?
-
I completely agree. Corn blindness seems to affect a large percentage of players.
Its not fun its just really really frustrating. Please nerf the corn.

It's been fine until now though. All replies have been nice and civil.
Personally, most Docs I've been going against have actually only gotten 1k or 0k. But from my own experience as Doctor, I do feel like this one change to Doctor will be needed. It's true though that it's still very early to say if this really is the case. Especially considering that many people even didn't know how to play against the old Doctor, probably because he played much differently to other killers and barely ever got played at high ranks.
The only thing I'm just slightly worried about is that BHVR might feel the need to nerf him, and then nerf him in a different way. Like increasing his shock therapy charge time, which would be awful in my opinion. That nerf would either just force him to run around a loop more times before he can catch up to survivors, which means it will weaken his chase potential slightly, but totally detatched from any counterplay of survivors, or if the charge time is increased too much, he'll just turn into old Doc with survivors being able to run him around pallet loops infinitely if he continues to try and shock survivors when they approach pallets.
An increased cooldown on the other hand simply buffs an interesting counterplay to him, which is exactly what I would like to see to him. But I do believe that the devs at BHVR do realise this as well if they decide to nerf him in some way.
In the end a killer's balance simply comes down to whether survivors have the chance to survive in chases long enough for their team mates to make an impactful progression on gens, while considering the killer's map pressure, stealth capabilties and tracking potential. And if that's the case, the question is whether survivors can survive in chases long enough because of skillful counterplay, or because the killer's power forces the killer to take too long to chase a survivor. Old legion is the perfect example for the latter, where as Nurse probably is a great example for the former. Increasing Doctor's shock therapy charge time would buff survivors, but in a way that fits in the latter category, while increasing the cooldown of Doctor's shock therapy would buff survivors in a way that fits the former category.
I think they look at stats and complaints from the other side.
If hes getting 4k most games and people say they dont like (insert feature) when they play survivor it will be tweaked.
If hes performing within reasonable bounds and there aren’t too many complaints about one specific thing then he will stay the same.
Its not all about survivor complaints though contrary to popular belief. Every said the 3 second cooldown was awful (myself included) and it got changed to appease people playing the killer.
I think perhaps some people are a bit too pallet greedy against him at the moment. I’m so used to old Doc that I myself can try to get cheeky at loops because old Doc was so easy to abuse. Long loops you’re safe from new Doc, short loops are best to get away from asap because he’s going to get you sooner rather than later.
-
Oh dear ad19970 I do pity you. You’ve just opened yourself up to 10 pages full of abuse for even suggesting a slight killer nerf based on your experience. You know the rules of the dbd forums, killer nerfs must NEVER be mentioned.
I’ve noticed that pretty much every Doc I go against gets the 4k. His static blast when spammed as often as possible can be a little but irritating too. He’s not a killer I hate going against however.
I feel like its still too early to say whether he’s a little bit too strong or not. On one hand survivors need to learn the best counterplay and need some experience going against him. On the other hand new killers often do poorly as players are inexperienced at using them yet Doc is going well. Doc is different though as he instantly feels familiar but is so much more powerful.
I’m not worried though. Unlike most here I have confidence that people are monitoring the data on Doc and will tweak accordingly if there are any problems.
-
I have a feeling it would affect the player ratio too. A lot of people that play 2 man swf would jump to it. How many people are going to get together an 8 man squad? Or want to play with a squad of randoms?
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
They wont touch DS as long as survivors are forced to use it, cause killers are mainly a bunch of cheap players. Its not survivors fault that DS needs to exist.
Pretty much.
I get why killers play the basement game. I play killer myself and I understand it totally. However as survivor unless the person unhooking you is running BT then you’re never going to make it out of the basement. At least DS stops your game from being over right there.
-
Ranks are boosted right now. With the reset changes it feels like anyone can make it to red ranks.
You are right though it is completely understandable why people stick to swf only. Doesn’t help when killers complain about swf but go full tryhard, toxic and campy on solos then wonder why they only play with their squad after that.
-
I want them to do for Clown what they did for Doc.
Keep him basically the same but with a stylish 2020 makeover.
-
Exhaustion add ons are fine. Sorry you don’t get a free pallet in every chase because you brought Dead Hard.
Clown doesn’t really need them but DH can really screw over Huntress. I don’t complain when Huntress uses those add ons because I’ve played her and know how annoying it is when you have a split second to make a shot, line it up perfectly but the survivor gets a free escape due to DH.
I don’t understand why survivors rage about exhaustion add ons or franklins. You always get so much salt after the game with either of these. What you’re mad because your perk got taken away? Lol they would take away my perk (Ruin) instantly. They could bring med kits, botany or we’ll make it rendering my perk (sloppy butcher) worthless. Theres counters to a lot of things in the game. Sometimes you just gotta suck it up and deal with it.
-
More clickbait capitalising on outrage.
If you listened to half of his ideas and put them into the game it would kill the game overnight. Some of them are so one sided survivors would stop playing altogether.
-
I heard that the developers hold secret meetings in the woods where they all dress up in robes and conspire about future killer nerfs.
You heard it hear first. That’s how survivor biased they are.

Thats because bones still aren’t done lol
I take it, it’s a great perk. I do my fair share of bones. About 3 per game. Shame the other 3 survivors don’t.

Is no one going to point out that the November stats (which are NOT up to date anyways) are WITH ruin? that perk gave killers a chance to actually snowball and get kills, the post ruin nerf Stats are going to be very different on a lot of low tier killers like clown and legion, I easily can see them dropping below a 2 kill average
People have said killers were underperforming for years though and they weren’t.
If the killrates fall, killers will get buffs.
All I’m saying is that stream after stream the developers (who all strangely look like Dwight) tell us that their stats indicate killers are doing ok. I dont know why people assume they are lying to us or make excuses. Or why people would assume that they would purposefully try to make killers weak.
The game can be hard and things can switch at a moments notice due to all the crazyness in a given trial, but I believe the devs are doing their best to balance the game given the data they have (which is a lot more than they share with us).
I dont understand the conspiracy theories.
-
I’d prefer it if the lore was retconned to reflect how survivors come across in the game.
For example Claudette would be a very toxic, selfish person. Willing to let everyone else die if it means preserving her own survival.
David would be brawn but no brains. A dimwit willing to farm anyone from a hook in front of the killer.
Nea is probably the most fitting. A rebel and a troublemaker. This fits the character of someone who runs around in trying to be the most visible character, clicking a flashlight at the killer constantly and tbagging at every pallet.
The lore they created for these characters is out if date. The characters have grown into their own lore.
-
Sprint burst gamers 🤮
Completely screws Myers ability to get close to survivors with his low terror radius since they can get to safety no matter what.
I mean look at your build, monitor for the 8m terror radius, surveilance+ruin, nurses, your whole build is designed to get survivor locations and then sneak up on them. 2 of the survivors are running the perfect counter to your build (I have that kind of luck too lol)
Theres no reason he should be so salty.
-
Anyone who plays survivor knows that killers are getting kills just fine.....which is what the devs have stated their data says time and time again.
Yet the forums and other online outlets are all full of the same doom & gloom comments about how killers are severely underpowered, none except the top 3 can get kills and that survivors are unstoppable.
I’m convinced a lot of it is perception. The gens do feel fast when you’re killer and I’ve had many killers post-game talk about how fast the gens were but as survivor I thought they went quite slow. Sometimes that time pressure can make the killer feel stressed out even if they win. I’ve had players rant, brought on by the intensity they just had in the game and yet they got the 3k or 4k in the game. Why rant like you were cheated if you won?
People need to remember this. I used to think the devs were full of bs a long time ago and I thought killers were underpowered based on genrush by elite swf squadettes but then I realised I was winning the vast majority of games or at least drawing.
Also at no point do people reflect on their own gameplay. Someone made a good point in here the other say about gen protection. In DBD its quite easy to get too caught up in the chases but sometimes you need to be smart about which gens you protect, how you want the endgame to play out rather than just chasing the first survivor you come across. This is what the devs tried to put across at the end of the stream I believe.
-
I dont get how their stats say Lithe is more common than Dead hard, DS, Adrenaline. I play on PC, get put against all ranks and from the top to the bottom Lithe is practically non-existent. There is no way it compares to Dead Hard usage.
They mentioned other platforms so I’d love to know what’s happening on console/mobile why this perk is more common than all the meta perks.
-

I guarantee you there would be a huge uproar if they got survivors doing totems because then killer mains would lose their NOED. They’ll complain its worthless and needs a buff.
They don’t want survivors doing totems. They want their free kill perk.

@ClickyClicky bro you complain about Billys potential to snowball, how about Plague, Myers or Trapper? GhostFace even, stalking to 99 and then activating it for one second as you touch survivor before anyone can flush you out of shround. Super out of character and logically stupid mechanic not making sense what so ever, unlike Myers. But it is in game, otherwise noone would play him. If survivors make mistakes Leatherface has the biggest punish and snowball potential, why not nerfing him? Because he is laughable if survivors are decent.
Edit: Early downs, how about Myers grabs, op?
None of them can snowball like Billy. None of them.
How often does Myers get a grab? Very very rarely. Once he tiers up though that stealth is gone. He can snowball but like oni, after a while he reverts back to tier 2 and the instadowns stop. Hillbilly has those instadowns all game 24/7 and then he can cross the map and back again in seconds. Myers cant.
This is the difference between all those killers and Billy. Billy has the instadowns permanently and on demand. The rest only have them for a limited time and have to do something to earn it.
Leatherface doesnt compare because his chainsaw is harder to hit since it slows him down and he suffers a far bigger penalty if he hits a wall.
Ghostface is BS but thats another story for another time.
None of them compare to Billy. Billy has his snowball potential from the start of the game until the very end. One mistake and its curtains for the survivors. Myers and Oni only have their chance at certain intervals, Trapper is more of a late game snowball.....again Hillbilly is an overwhelming threat right from the start of the trial.
-
Sometimes they increase the pickrate for new maps so people get to try it out more.
Its very frequent for me this one.
-
The best part for me is that no matter what perks I take in place of Ruin I don’t feel tilted anymore by survivors spawning on the totem. I don’t feel like I’ve been cheated.
-
All except Demo because I was too lazy and Oni because I only just bought him.
Putting more effort into the rift than the adept achievements now

@thesuicidefox said:
I'm going to.... agree.
I stopped using Ruin a while ago on most killers and it's made me a better player. Often when I take Ruin I end up regretting it because I mess up the build I enjoy and perform best for a perk that isn't really that good against good players. Majority of the time if I won with Ruin I could have easily won without it.
Killers have this mentality that they can only win if they kill survivors with 4/5 gens left. You don't, especially now that Gatekeeper is changed. You can actually relent on some gens to focus more on the ones that are easier to defend. I always find it funny that most killers on the forums somehow expect survivors to not do gens. IT IS LITERALLY THEIR ONLY OBJECTIVE. So what if they do 2 in your first chase. Unless those two gens are critical gens that would split the map, it's really not a big deal. I've 4k'd with 1/2 gens left many times because I played smart and focused on keeping them off the gens I needed to.
A good example of this is the gen in Myers house on Haddonfield. Yes the map sucks for killer, but if you let this gen go you will almost always lose the game. If you protect this gen like your newborn baby you can get a survivor in the basement, and if you basement a survivor on this map you can snowball very very hard (unless the window at the top of the basement stairs is open that will screw you over, yes). And there is usually a gen somewhere outside the Myers house nearby. Just pick one more gen and focus on keeping them off as much as possible. If you wear down survivors enough you will win through attrition.
Killers also do exactly what you say... chase - hook - BBQ - repeat. They play like bots and expect to win. No you have to play to your opponent and your strengths. Sometimes that means giving up a chase. Sometimes that means slugging at key moments. Sometimes that means playing defensive on gens and waiting for the survivors to mess up so you can capitalize. A lot of the times I lose is because I just end up chasing one guy way too long. Yesterday I was playing Nurse, I was catching these guys quickly. Until I got to this one Laurie that ran me for a solid 2 gens. She was smarter than the others, and the only reason I really wanted her was because she was my last stack of BBQ. The smart thing would be to let her go and go after the others until some die, THEN go after her as I could afford the time. I knew by chasing her I would throw the game. Thankfully I still managed to pull out a 4k but I had to make quick and good decisions in the moments after I caught her. The got a gate open even and I caught 2 of them before they could get out. One could have easily just run out but she wanted to try and bodyblock then rescue the other, and I got them both. They messed up, I capitalized, turned a 3k into a 4k.
Too many killers play like bots then complain the game is unfair. Yes, in some cases the game is unfair I won't deny that. But it's actually not that common as people would have you believe. Maybe 9 of 10 games I play as killer I think to myself at the start "this is going to be an L". The rest is me screwing up if I lose. And even in those games where I think I might lose out the gate, I just play scummy. Camp, tunnel, slug. It sucks but it's my only option sometimes. I feel bad but I don't have a choice. And yea it's not fun to play this way, but it's also not fun to get bullied. I'd rather not have fun and win, than not have fun and lose. Playing scummy is generally an easy path to victory, even if it's not that fun, and killers overlook this fact. DS, Unbreakable, DH, etc. You can beat all that if you play scummy majority of the time. It sucks to do but it works. Stop being pushovers and trying to play nice, get your hands dirty once in a while. You will win more because of it and thus be less tilted at the end of the game.
I’ve seen this a lot. I’ve seen my fav streamers do it, I’ve seen killers I’ve gone against do it. You think to yourself “you’re chasing too long, too far, the survivor is in a strong area and discordance is going off....get to the gen!”
and they dont. They get caught up in the chase.
Its an easy thing to say while watching but while playing its like you have blinders on sometimes. Sometimes in my head I know the right move in a situation, slugging one and chasing the other but I get greedy and decide to secure the hook even though I know its wrong.

What makes survivor perks take priority over killer perks on this "soon" list as shown by the 6:1 ratio?
It never stops does it. This entitlement and persecution complex.
Players - specifically killer mains - have been complaining over and over and over again about the stale survivor meta perks. Seeing the same 4 perks game after game after game.
The developers buff some weaker perks to bring them into use, hopefully to bring some variety to the perks survivors are using and the first thing killer mains say is...
”why do only survivor perks get buffed?? I knew it you prfioritize survivors!!”
-
The replies in here are disgusting. Its like nobody can bring up any kind of concern about a killer or their power without people raging and talking down to them for it. Its so biased.
I never had an issue with old Doc, never found him annoying but after facing new Doc all day even I have to admit that static blast can be quite annoying.
That’s not to say he needs a nerf or anything its too early to judge but I can see why someone may find it a little frustrating after playing against the Doc a lot and I’m not quite sure it meets the design intention of being less annoying.

I have no issue applying pressure when I'm playing Clown.
You keep saying this lol
Do you have any gameplay videos? Not trolling I’d genuinely like to see you play.

Yes because he can keep survivors off gens.
This is what I tried to explain the other day but got shot down. I went against a Trapper with Infectious Fight. He was making full use of it and dishing out damage to as many survivors as possible. The longer you can keep survivors off gens the more mileage you get from Nu-Ruin.
Nu-Ruin is actually pretty damn powerful with the right builds. Dare I say more powerful than before. It doesn’t slow progress like old Ruin, it actually deletes gen progress. Its especially powerful against solos because if you leave a gen while you’re chased chances are that gen is going back to zero. Meanwhile swf can just ask a friend to finish it and they can prioritize gens.
Thats my one issue with new Ruin. It enhances the gap between solo and swf. Thankfully though I expect Ruin to fall out of the meta now because it doesn’t immediately provide a noticeable difference.
