  • Balanced is fine now after the nerf. It's very situational. TBH there's only DH, SB and adrenaline that are problematic. 2 of them grant free pallets and punish the killer for even starting a chase, adrenaline is awful when multiple survivors take it and with 20 seconds on the clock without NOED you're screwed.

  • Probably just NOED at this point. No other killer perk changes the game like that one.

I consider thana and dying light annoying if its on freddy with his add ons or legion.

  • Both perks are fine. If you're getting affected by these often then you need to reflect on your own gameplay. You're clearly hanging around the hook or trying to tunnel.

I see so many killers proxy camp, when they see a survivor going for the unhook they stand there, wait, walk behind the unhooked survivor and hit them then its *surprised Pikachu face* borrowed time.

Then they come online to complain 😐️

  • That sounds fun. Watching a bot slugged over and over for the 4k. Does it recover? does it crawl towards you?

  • He doesn’t touch the balance, he’s doing partnerships and stuff I believe. He’s never been a pro player.

The ones that are responsible for balance....don’t think they stream?

Closest is probably McLean. He’s a programmer I think. He’s not so bad. About average, probs what you would expect from someone who doesn’t have time to play all day. Pretty good at 360s though.

  • It and NOED should both go. I hate perks that flip the entire outcome of a game.

They are much stronger in the hands of the fair. I agree. But I don't think it's broken. Bait the DH. The heals sucks I agree. 3 heals. Ouch. It might need a look at.

    But!

Let's say 2 people have DS, BT ONLY. No other perks just to keep it simple. You hook one. Other else makes the save. So you down and hook the unhooker. And the first guy comes right back. What do you do?

You have 2 survivors in front of you. One on hook. The other injured with BT on him and he's going for the save.

If he unhooks them in time, they will both have DS and BT.

If you catch him in the save, he will DS you and save the other person. Now both have BT active and one has DS active.

If you hit him normally he will eat it with his BT and unhook and they will both walk away with DS and one with BT active.

In that scenario as killer. You have 0 options to keep your guy on the hook. None. And that is unfair.

DH can buy you a loop and such. But DH can't guarantee two people escape a hook. Strength vs Abuse.

But because some killers refuse to leave the hook right from the start of the trial, this is exactly why we have perks that can grant the survivor the ability to escape the hook.

I mean you could leave one on hook and slug the other and camp them both if needed be, its gonna force the 2 other survivors to come for the rescue anyway so it’s not all powerful.

If 90% of killers didn't just decide to hound one person all game and sit arounds hooks then we wouldn’t be in this mess. Most killers have nobody to blame but themselves.

Correct, but the "defensive" ones are drastically more debilitating when they are used improperly. Whereas DH and AD can't really be abused and are thus balanced. Still strong! Very strong if used right. But it doesn't punish the killer for being the killer. It rewards you for being a good survivor (using DH right or taking a properly timed chase for AD). But if you go down before adrenaline pops. Or they bait your DH... Oh well. They countered you. Skill vs skill.

The two being mentioned for rework are being used in unhealthy ways. Such as farming and sandbagging other survivors, or punishing the killer for being a killer. If he downs someone, hooks them, and turns around and you are still there unhooking in his face. And he downs you and picks you up. And you get to stab him, unhook the other guy who gets BT and can body block a hit for you. Throw on DH for both of them. You did nothing wrong as the killer but just had 2 people escape.

There is a difference in balanced strength. Vs abusable strength. That is the line I'm trying to help point out.

I disagree, they DO punish you the killer for being the killer.

I don’t camp nor tunnel so DS/BT barely ever affect me. If I see someone try to rush an unhook in front of my face I go after the person doing the rescue so DS and BT don’t come into it.

Meanwhile everyone has DH, I chase the survivor and they get a free pallet. I’m punished for chasing them. Or the last gen pops and 3 survivors all get an instaheal, again I’m punished for playing the game. These two perks are far worse than DS/BT.

  • I don’t get why everyone rips on DS and BT yet give a free pass to DH/Adrenaline.

Two of them are defensive perks. Complain about how they’re used all you want but they are primarily defensive perks for the epidemic of killers that just want to proxy camp the hook and tunnel one survivor out.

DH and Adrenaline serve no such purpose. Its just a free heal or pallet to punish the killer simply for chasing the survivor.

  • Its often in the last 20 seconds or so of DS that you get picked up. Might as well just ask for it to be removed once you hook another survivor. This would be a large benefit to campers.

As for BT awful. I use Inner Strength. Theres no guarantee that perk will be active when I need it. 20 seconds is not enough time to find a totem and destroy it and then heal in a locker. Nor is it enough time to find another survivor to heal you.

DH is the only one there that has potential. Removing the speed burst would stop it from being a free pallet/vault.

  • In place of Ruin you mean? NOED.

  • Its fine to use. DBD is even officially supported by it.

I’m guessing you’re tired if Blendettes too?

  • Campbells chapel isn’t as bad now that balanced got nerfed.

Disturbed ward has too much centered around the main building. Its like a fortress. I dont like those maps where every survivor runs to one spot when chased and the asylum is one of them.

You think people mori-spam for that reason? People mostly mori-spam to BM. If you want to lock a survivor in place with a mori, people will do gens. If he's the last survivor, he'll bleed out eventually, so letting the last survivor bleed out, mori or not, should be bannable then. If he's waiting for the DS, he might just mori him and that's it.

Can you think a real and practical reason why mori-spamming could give the killer any advantage? Because it doesn't make sense to me.

Of course, if it's just BM, then you should also ban tbagging and "clicky clicky".

Why are you trying to defend it and justify it? Either way it’s toxic.

Nobody ever said tbagging was good anyway before you throw that back at me.

  • @LegionGhostface said:

LOL imma start doing this now

    It’s bannable.

  • These killers must have been the luckiest killers in the world. For me Ruin was often gone within the first 30-60 seconds. Sometimes they even spawned on it. I basically played so many games where it was a wasted perkslot that it has been quite easy for me to adapt.

If someone really feels the game has changed that much then they must have had it lasting multiple minutes each time.

  • Survivors normally DC when others have disconnected because they feel shafted too. They’re now stuck in a tilted game and unhappy about it.

As for the first guy.....no idea. Strange he did it so late. Maybe a crash? Maybe he got trolled by other survivors?

His reveal mechanic is definitely broken. I don't care about the whole stuff about the 26% of your screen in the center and all that. It's sufficient to go in KYF and test it to see it's inconsistent.

I wouldn't say they all camp, but I'd also lie if I said that the vast majority of GFs I ran into weren't campy boys. That's just because it pays off in general against solos, who are the vast majority (iT's lEgIt sTraTegY). I think BHVR should have never removed the ability of Kindred to trump stealth abilities. Thankfully, I've done the archives and I'm back to grinding bp playing killer.

The game below, the killer literally did nothing but immediately stealth camping (why would he run sloppy/tana/nurse's to do that, it makes no sense to me). First hook camped, rescuer gets marked and slugged. Both camped. At that point you have to go for yolo rescues to even have a chance and the snowball is guaranteed. You can imagine the rest. Yes, it was a rank 1.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/770/8MQXBS832F8B.jpg

P.S. for those who want to question my build, I run all sorts of perks for fun. Here I had the 2 protection hit challenge, which I didn't even attempt.

That’s exactly why he’s awful. No killer in the game feels as “cheap” as him. Theres just something very unsatisfying about the mechanics.

No terror radius yet no penalty to speed nor attack. Gets to camp and expose anyone that comes for the rescue. Can stalk, duck behind a rock to reset the survivors reveal then pop back out and expose them before they can reveal him.

Nurse has never felt anywhere near as bad as him and that’s a killer than can blink through walls.

Unless they use more than two pallets together and ignoring the fact that this plan will 100 percent make you lose from time waste lol ..soo yeah no

No he’s right hawkins is completely killer sided and the pallets are garbage. Don’t be a hypocrite.

  • I like how the same people that complain about gen speeds and survivors escaping are the same ones saying we should just accept death as survivor and how it’s ok.

Blatant hypocrisy. Maybe killers should be happy with hooks and sacrifices aren’t that important?

  • What does it matter? There are plenty if instances when people can’t reveal him from across a pallet 2m in front of him.

His power is BS. He’s basically prayer beads in killer form. Never seen a single one that won’t camp or tunnel or doesn’t run that stupid sloppy/nurses build.

  • @Kycer said:

As a killer main on console, I’m gonna be completely honest. The game is still winnable in the red ranks unless if you’re going against a sweat-squad but the thing is... the game is is just so unfun and frustrating even if you managed to win. That’s because of gens speed and the survivor perks that you gonna have to play around.. they’re too many.. Hell, even ZubatLEL got sick of playing killer because of the survivors’ perks.

I think you're in the ballpark here.

Gen speeds are winnable, other things need to change.

Would people rather have extra time added to gens, but then be forced to commit to survivors sprint bursting and running god loops until the windows are blocked off?

Or would people rather just have problematic maps and loops fixed, maps shrunk, removing the boring parts of the game?

The game feels fine on a decent map.

  • "As survivor its way too easy to escape from the killer, I don't even feel like I deserve the escape, give me a damn second objective already, make killers actually scary."

No offence but your entire post history has you ripping on survivors so excuse me if I find this hard to believe.

If you want more of a challenge why not take No Mither? or no perks?

  • @Baybee_Jake said:

Huntress is so faceroll anyways though; she's only for killers who are bad in a chase imo, and would get dumpstered playing most other killers. And you can just slap on a 3k bp exhaust hatchet and call it a day if you want.

Sprint burst has the massive drawback in that you have to walk everywhere to keep it ready. If you 99% it, you can't be doing objectives.

Huntress probably takes the most skill out of all killers if you look at the difference between a noob huntress and a pro huntress. You can't just use speed, you need to be good at aiming hatches especially against good survivors. You need to know what objects you can throw over or between and you need to be able to pull off those shots consistently.

SB does have people walking but either way it's a free escape for no reason.

  • Gen speeds aren't the problem it's the maps and certain perks. God loops, extremely strong areas, overly large maps, exhaustion perks granting survivors free access to those especially strong areas.

When you get a game without any of that it's not so bad. Sucks though when everytime you get near a survivor they sprint burst to the abattoir window. Killer immediately loses a chase and pressure.

  • It's not the i-frames that are the problem, it's the speed boost. It's a free pallet/vault thus a free loop for a survivor unless they're caught out in the open.

I agree it does need to go.

  • @Baybee_Jake said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1078140#Comment_1078140

They need to nerf her exhaustion add-ons. They are a relic from when you recovered your exhaustion perks while moving. I don't think it's right she can do a 90 second exhaust on you when they won't even give doctor an exhaust on his iri add-ons anymore.

The fact you use them unlimitedly because even the brown one is god tier is silly to me.

I disagree. DH is basically a third health state for survivors, especially against Huntress. I don't know why people focus so much on BT/DS anyway when SB/DH are literally free pallets for survivors, and don't even have the excuse of being a defense against camping/tunneling.

Sprint Burst especially. You shouldn't be guaranteed to get the nearest god loop just because you brought a perk.

I know this might be a shock, but killers actually tunnel harder if they suspect DS.

Why? Because they want to trigger it in early game and get it out of the way quickly, so it doesnt bother them in lategame/engame.

Surprising, I know, but no one wants to have a person on gen for 45+ seconds that cant be caught because they will just hide in a locker and you will have to wait the DS out.

and there are some like myself that don't tunnel because of DS. If I bump into someone who just got off hook I slug, I've been doing ok so far.

Both Nurse and Legion suffer from Dead Hard. Nurse get's fatigued for upwards of 3 seconds. Legion gets fatigued for upwards of 4 seconds (just for missing an attack...).

If you’re trying to hit an injured survivor with Legion then you’re playing Legion wrong. Deep wounds is 12 seconds, its probably not worth the distance travelling to them to apply deep wounds. You’d be better off body blocking or getting in front then canceling Frenzy.

As for Nurse yeah DH hurts her....but then it is Nurse afterall so she can come back from anything.

It hurts Huntress more hence why she gets exhaustion add ons.

  • No he wasn’t annoying at all before but he is now.

  • Most Ruin totems went in under a minute anyway. It’s placebo.

Game speed against a good killer is probably on pr with your average team deatchmatch fps

  • Insulting others.

You can disagree with peoples points even if you find them ridiculous but you don’t need to make personal insults.

  • I hate survivors like this. They just troll and throw the game. Or they expect everyone else to hold M1 for them which is boring.

Also look at all those instadowns. Truly Hillbilly is “tHe mOsT bAlAnCeD kIlLeR”

  • If that happened we all know killers would complain about how long it takes.

Earn your escapes, touch those bones. It ain't over until you see that next screen.

74 seconds of cleansing vs 20 seconds of totel stun time from 4 DS

Anyone that defends NOED has no right to complain about DS.

One is to defend survivors in helpless situations. The other is just free kills for bad players.

”baby's first crutch perk” as they call it. They should slap the Fisherprice logo on the NOED icon.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

I can play a perfect game against someone like a Hillbilly, on Yamaoka Estate, WITH AN INSTA-SAW and they ONLY USE THE SAW, dodge them the entire game but get hooked once.

They kill everyone else. They close hatch. I get the game open. They NoED me. Of course I'm going to feel cheated! Of course I'm going to accuse them of being unskilled! Of course I'm going to call NoED "Baby's first crutch perk" when people like that unfairly get me or can't perform at all, so NoED and camp for a kill!

It is bad perk design 101. There is no warning and no build-up for such a game-changing, stat-altering effect.

NOED is the most balanced perk just like Hillbilly is the most balanced killer.

It’s true because I read it on the forums.

  • If you truly want it gone yes. Certainly better than searching for and cleansing 5 totems.

  • @LordGlint If survivors run around cleansing all 5 totems then you do get value out of it. That buys the killer a heck of a lot of time.

@cipherbay_ And if the killer doesn’t pick up within 60 seconds then survivors are basically running 3 perks all game.

  • Lol. Look at some of the names defending it.

”NOED is fine. A bad killer getting a few free kills is fine. However DS and BT need to go!! The survivor should not be granted an extra chance to live a little longer!!!!”

There is some real hypocrisy involved in defending NOED but complaining about BT/DS. Really shows a bias

  • @PacifiedByDaylight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1077570#Comment_1077570

You can break totems to prevent NOED any time. You can`t prevent DS in endgame unless you start tunneling people earlier

There we go then you have your counter. Eat DS early.

Certainly faster than running around the map looking for 5 totems.

  • The reason for Rancor was that old DS had no counter. There was no waiting 60 seconds as it never expired. The obsession was going to be using it that game, unless you happened to be lucky enough to be within juggle distance each time.

It was an awful broken perk and anyone that says new DS is worse is being disingenuous.

  • It would have helped to see the whole clip. With DS its often in the last 10 seconds that you get picked up. It may have been possible for you to wait a little longer in picking the Kate up for example and chasing the other person.

I can see your frustration. It must suck to feel having multiple kills stolen from you like that. However NOED is basically the same thing. I could post thousands of videos here that show the killer getting multiple free kills thanks to 1 perk.

Killer mains only have themselves to blame for DS. They kept tunneling and tunneling and tunneling really ruining the game for everyone else and then when a defence comes about its *surprised Pikachu face*

  • DS is a free endgame escape that’s true but then NOED is a free endgame kill.

Had a game the other day where NOED kicked in and the killer gets 2 free kills from it. I used DS and managed to escape.

In a weird kind of way, the game is balanced.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1076750#Comment_1076750

Why shouldn't I tunnel? It's way better to eat 4 DS early and get them out of the way.

If you want to do that then that’s your choice. My advice was to someone who does not like taking DS.

  • It’s nowhere near as bad as old DS. People that say this forget just how bad old DS was.

I very rarely ever get hit by new DS. If its affecting you that much then you need to look at the way you play. You should only be getting the od one every couple of games at most if you’re truly not tunneling.

  • For the most part nothing. Its just another player.

Its its a streamer with his swf crew with items though then I’ll likely dodge the lobby. These ones bring their cronies with purple items and just try to be toxic for views. I’m not interested in that I just want a normal game.

  •  It stupid I have to camp just to get a kill while the other 3 run borrowed time or decisive strike trying to save him.

It’s because of this that BT and DS exist. You never have to camp, but because players like you camp that’s why these perks had to be made so strong.

Try playing survivor and see what it feels like to be camped/tunneled every game.

You even followed it up with:

It wasn't until your third post, when more than one person said you were incorrect, that you backpedaled into your "from my experience" stance. You said something, people knew it was nonsense, and you backtracked.

    Have a good day.

I was speaking from my experience. The posts above mine were speaking about their experiences, so I spoke about mine.

I don’t know why you’re trying to turn this into something it isn’t. Until the devs put out official stats how the hell can anyone here answer the question factually? We can only give our experiences and try to draw a conclusion from there.

You said they were "very common" as a blanket statement. You didn't say "in your experience" or "in your gameplay". You said it as a catch-all for everyone without context.

Even still, if you're getting hit with 3 mori games in a row, that's bad luck. Unless you're going to just outright lie and say that happens all the time.

I answered from my experience. I also said it depends on the day. Some days it can be at least a third of games, other days it can be none.
