player movement shouldn't have been changed at all. the devs decided to change the one thing no one actually cared about, so they valued making movement more realistic rather than prioritizing our own experience & feedback. def agree w this
-
the new movement is so bad and they're adding such unneeded things to the game.. they really messed up on that
-
^ even tho lobby ping is at 50ms
-
same problem, and also have been having many issues with nurse with extreme lag and blinks wont work.

@Quol said:
Her skill ceiling is the highest in the game. You can spend 10 hours playing Freddy and achieve the same result a 100 hour Nurse would get. This in itself wouldnt be a big problem per say but the only way to learn killers is trial by fire. You got to rank 1 with Billy or something and want to learn Nurse? Prepare to get 0k gg ez baby killer'd for the next 20 matches.
yeah but freddy's mechanics are so boring. all you do is tp to gens and set blood traps or fake pallets. spend more time with nurse and you get a higher reward out of it.

Survivors always lose their addons...
they don't, they always keep them if they survive and leave the trial with their item + addons

Ever since her Addon rework (which was fine) was what we wanted but Dev's changed her Base Kit, which in turn made her blinks more punishing when you miss.
honestly, i rlly agree with this one. her base kit change just opened up so many problems and annoying bugs. it was really pointless to have to wait for your blinks when you already have to with fatigue
-
LOL imma start doing this now

@Flatskull said:
She's not fun. Simple as. She wasn't exactly fun prior nerf for many either but her massive power potential and FEAR factor made her worth investing into to learn. Being actually scary to survivors was worth it for some.
Being stunned ain't fun. It wasn't fun on legion and it ain't fun on nurse. But the most important part is. Why should I invest time learning an unfun, frustrating character that can be S tier when I play a character that's fun and can teleport that is also S tier. FREDDY.
Hell. Even Billy can move so fast that it dosen't really matter unless you're on a very tight map. Nurse was cool because back in the day a god nurse could port literally across the map and grab you with a percission blink. Which was terrifying. But between the dead zones, bugs, nerfs and just general annoying nature of trying to learn while being stunned constantly makes it not worth it.
Especiallyy when there is even more killers now to mess with that might be more peoples play style.
yeah, honestly when i first played her i got a headache from the constant fatigue and stuns
-
nope, it gets cleansed before even getting a single token for me. that's the problem with any hex perk except NOED when it does spawn when all gens are completed, i think that the totem for devour hope should only spawn when the killer gains two tokens because that's really when it comes in effect

They had No Perks AND No Comm matches as well, including against streamers. I might have been wrong about Zubat - I remembered that they did. They 100% went up against Umbra, though, and not just once. I remember her talking to them afterwards.
You pipped against them? Cool.
But, again, it's you.
What chance do the rest of us mooks have against players like that?
How does that invalidate everything else I said?
P.S.
Scott, you meanie :,(
it honestly depends on the amount of time you put into it

For me.. I only dabble in Nurse play on Xbox.. when I do I either dominate the survivors, or get dominated.. rarely any middle ground where even if I "lose" I can still feel good about how I played.
I'm generally rank 1, so when I do lose.. I get ######### on via messages because I guess they assume she's my main.. just get off my ass.
I like the challenge of her, to an extent.. but I don't really care for the in game and post game harassment if I'm off.
honestly nurse is impossible to play for me on console, the console platform needs tremendous optimization and it's pretty much impossible to play any killer other than freddy or ghostface imo

Just asked him:
He literally told me that he also lost rounds and it doesn't depend what killer you play, you will always have problems when they just focus gens.
Furthermore he also added that he thinks basekit change should be reverted. Also he knows the people he goes up against and he takes mori alot and just strong addons.
He has 7,6k hrs of dbd and he is not to be taken as example for players in general, he estimated about 2k hrs alone on nurse.
i agree that her basekit needs to be reverted
-
doc isn’t op lol, he’s still a b-tier killer. and i’d say people usually DC against a spirit. i usually don’t play her cause it’s unfair and not fun imo, but i did it for the archive challenges and my first game as her, 3/4 survivors DCed

She isn't bad. It just has a massive learning curve, and if your not used to the climate of this community, if a addled toddler with only 2 fingers can't get a 4k every game its a bad killer.
yeah, she’s good in the right hands, but with her blink bugs and glitches, she’s just annoying to play as. also, these things are out of your control and it’ll ruin your gameplay
-
well she first needs a rework or a simple buff

lmfao wait until you play on the sanctum of wrath map with nurse
-
@Tro said:
Wait for it... here comes the “well a god nurse always gets 4ks” statement... she needs to be fixed somehow. She has one of the lowest pick rates, lowest kill rates, and highest frustration coefficients in the game.
yeah i understand your point cause everyone was new to her at one point

Huh, guess I never looked at it that way. I never noticed a difference in short blinks personally but those aren't exactly the most common blink tactics either. I guess that makes sense yeah.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1053362#Comment_1053362
I'll level with you, I was only good at 5 blink Nurse before I really dug in and learned her. After a few hundred hours with just 2 blinks anymore than that really started to throw me off and actually worsen my performance as strange as that sounds.
But the surprise factor wares off the second they know you're running walking Nurse. She's always taken skill to use, but now she has an additional skill barrier of patience because of all the bugs, deadzones, and the STUPID cooldown.
yeah cooldown really isn’t needed
-
@SasukeKun said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1044219#Comment_1044219
her nerf was the result of the devs listening to garbo survivors who can't lose, also its like playing a shin kicked killer that used to be the bae, she was hard to learn too.
yup, and now people want a buff lmao. her nerf raises the skill cap but it won’t make anyone who was already skilled with her affected in any way.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
Because she isn't very fun to play right now. They need to raise the skill floor. Make it so she can see where she is teleporting to. Make it so she can cancel her blinks. That wouldn't change much for the "pro nurses" who can seemingly blink exactly where they want anyway, but it would make her more accessible for everyone else. She has an add on with that effect that is common. It's the only way I'll play her and believe me... she's not OP with that effect.
i feel like it would bother some people if they were to see the location of the blink and not everyone would like that. i think canceling blinks is unneeded as well cause imo, all we need for nurse is one change reverted. (the blink cooldown) its pretty unnecessary and it's causing so many problems for the killer.

Yep. The devs don't do enough testing and have no real talent on the team in terms of gameplay ability. So then they put it on PTB for a couple of weeks (not enough time for testing), and then just leave it as that. Especially if its a killer or killer related. If it inconvencies or affects survivors in some way its fixed extremely quickly.
yup, these nurse bugs are too unstable and affect the killer tremendously yet there's nothing being done. pretty good job so far
-
@MysterTal said:
I played Nurse since very late 2016.
You can call me unskilled and lazy, but the Cooldown plus Dedicated Servers just made her unbearable to play as. I never liked the Fatigue but at least understood why it was "fair" for Survivors and accepted it as a necessity. I do not accept that a cooldown in addition is reasonable, it just makes it so that every 2-5 seconds someone stops you and says "to continue playing, wait X more seconds".
The feeling of self-stunning every time you use your Power (which you must do just to get around) is already not the biggest fun in the world, but adding an extra wait time and restraints is just so much more annoying.
It especially felt inconsiderate to me, since I was one of those Nurses who only rarely used Addons (and never Omega Blink). I used to pride myself on playing Nurse with no Addons.
I haven't seen one good reason in this thread why I need to keep doing that to myself when I can just play Freddy and have zero self-stuns and not have to drown in stress over the fact that I can't keep up with the gens and that if I miss a single Blink (or more commonly - get robbed by a bug or a hidden No-Blink-Zone) then I lose a chase completely.
Simply put, she's not fun and the Punishment vs Reward ratio was tilted too heavily towards Punishment (although that's kind of the Killer experience in general).
I came to an even more relevant conclusion lately: why should I keep subjecting myself to stress and humiliation by trying to pretend that playing Killer is anything more than becoming an interactive AI when I can just play Survivor and have the entire game based around my fun?
I don't need to worry about nerfs then, because Survivors can literally walk into a match with no Perks and win. I still remember with horror how the Depip Squad proved that when Marth and his group went into matches with no Perks and no comms and skillful Killers with fully-decked loadouts (including ZubatLEL, ScottJund and Umbra) were huffing and puffing to keep up with them and still lost.
Granted, there's been a few changes since then but playing Survivor is always so much more fun and relaxing. I don't even need to survive.
So, I'd very much like to go back to Nurse some day and play Killer again just in general, but right now it's just so punishing and frustrating. I'd much rather have fun. If that makes me "lazy", well... I'm here to have fun, this isn't a job to me. I don't owe anyone anything - the only one I owe anything to is myself and the only thing I owe is to have fun.
Nurse is just not fun anymore. Killer in general isn't, either.
And to all my fellow Killer Mains who suffer - just do what I did, switch over to Survivor. You'll thank me. It's so relaxing. You can literally just sit on a gen and have music playing in the background. You barely need to pay attention even during chases.
yeah it's so hard to enjoy a game of killer when you're playing a B/C tier one, i get ur point
-
@Ihatelife said:
Tbh the fact that she has two cooldowns now is making her not really worth to play as... She's way too harder to learn now and her addons....sucks.

Yup I play nurse on console and I do have good games but most of the time I get 2k or 1k but killers in general are very frustrating to play right now I’m always getting gen rushed and am starting to dread playing killer
honestly console is not good at all for any side, it's a complete mess with all of its problems
-
@JordanMalicious said:
I can say as a console player, I rarely see the nurse because using a controller just doesn't give you the freedom of movement needed for nurse. Every nurse I've gone against on PS4 was having a bad time unfortunately.

You have not seen a good one then. Plenty of red rank survivors will still straight up DC vs a good nurse because they know they are going to get butchered.
I had a rank 1 nea yesterday see me do two blinks and then he DC'd, cause he knew he was screwed. I charged the blink too long, he just ran into me, so I looked at the ground to discharge it and then did the second blink for the hit. Instant DC. He offered haddo too.
i wish i went against a good nurse but it’s so rare now mostly cause people find her blink cooldown annoying since it’s full of bugs and unneeded too
-

BHVR when can we get an actual good addon everyone wants for Nurse?
Ultra rare that just removes all of your blinks and makes you as fast as Hag. Easily the best addon in the game right there.
i think that the addons right now currently are at an ok place. i just don’t agree with the blink cooldown and i find it really unreasonable because it has resulted in irresistible bugs and glitches. honestly they should just remove that
-
@Hamtroll said:
I absolutely adore the walking nurse build, it is my favorite on her. Nobody expects you to run them down with nurse and you can put on bamboozle and enduring and it's actually useful.
i’ve tried it once and it was actually fun

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1050781#Comment_1050781
If they were to reduce this cooldown you would just run the "new omega" and we would be back where we started.
i think it’s pretty unreasonable to have a blink cooldown, i do agree that the omega blink addons were way too overpowered and shouldn’t allow her to have as much of a blink speed increase, but the fatigue + blink cooldown is just annoying according to so many people
-
@Tydie said:
I'm seeing a pattern with the people who complain about nurse nerf. I really think all of the people who are complaining were the people she got nerfed for. You guys ran her with ruin, sloppy, noed, busted addons etc. You weren't good with her to begin with, you were average at best, she was too easy to play for the payoff that she gave. I've played nurse since the day she came out, and I can still consistently 4k with her to this day. I never played her with addons or any crutch perks like ruin, and others listed above, and i basically got really good at her. I'm not gonna lie, its definitely harder because of the new base kit changes. Now I personally run the blink recharge speeds addons to get her as close as she was before because I basically played base nurse. I personally think the addons the devs reworked are mostly useless, and the base kit changes are unfortunate because i did enjoy not having to wait for a fatigue and then wait extra time until i can blink again, but i think it may have been needed. With that said, I do see how she is kind of a dead killer because only the top 1% can play her comfortably. Also, I understand how frustrating it is because, yes, its very very hard to learn her from scratch now, but i think its totally possible.
this is way too true
-
@brokedownpalace said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1050359#Comment_1050359
Yeah, but uh, she can blink through them. You know, without breaking them?
i never have any problems with getting stunned by pallets. i’ll sometimes wait for them to force down the pallet down if they’re just near there only if my blinks are recovering, then just blink through the pallet and hit them.
-
@Raptorrotas said:
Love that pallet etc argumentation. For discussions sake, let's ignore her lack of actual stun immunity.
Btw a killer that ignores pallets etc can actually be useless if too weak in other points. For example being slower than survivors. Or cooldowns to said ability. Or both.
" Nurse is borderline unable to catch up with survivors running in a straight line"
Such meme/rumor/opinion/fact/complaint (choose one lol) can only exist if many people experience it.
nurse can definitely catch up to survivors quickly, maybe it'll take 3-4 blinks if the survivor is on the other side of the map but if you have a direct line of sight and you located the survivor around a certain area, you can easily get to them and go for a hit if you really meet the skill cap and have good muscle memory with her blinks
-
@ABannedCat said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1048667#Comment_1048667
Nurse does not ignore pallets. With dedicated servers she can be stunned midblink now.
she can ignore pallets lmao, i don’t know what you mean.
-
@Tro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1048667#Comment_1048667
Yes she can ignore pallets, the problem are the dowuble cooldowns on her 2 blinks+fatigue+slower movement speed. Almost any other killer can get downs easier and faster than she can, without having to put in 500+ hrs into a single killer.
some killers can easily be looped if you’re going against a good survivor that knows how to play. with nurse, you can’t really do anything if that person is really skilled with her.
-
@ppo8820 said:
She takes skill and practice before and after her rework. Simple explanation is most killer players don’t want to invest time to get good. You see them crying on here about crutch nerfs because they are used to easy 4K games. Any killer or mechanic that requires time to become good, they tend to avoid.
yeah i get that, she was such a common killer to go against before and now its so rare to see her lmao but that makes sense
-
@Endstille said:

The thing is nobody believes you, stating chases end in 5-10seconds, everybody knows you are making that up.
ok, look bruh.. i literally have no reason to lie and can post a link to one of my videos that i played as nurse on my youtube channel. the reason you most likely think im making this up is probs cause you trash at the killer and find it unbelievable that someone's actually doing good with them? chill, i have no reason to lie lmfao. you really a joke if you think the killer isn't capable of all this.
-
yes nurse is definitely annoying to play because of her bugs and nerf that created just more problems for her. but my point is that it won’t stop an actual skilled nurse who has great muscle memory with her dominating any swf.
-
@Tro said:
I would love to see some numbers or videos showing these “strongest nurses” playing, I’ve literally found 2 videos online of her after her nerf and the survivors in them were not playing anywhere near good.
Some people think she’s boring, too hard to learn, or not worth the time, the fact is she needs a rework or at least a buff of some sort.
I gave some constructive ideas, and actually I liked one given by someone else too, base kit nurse when not in chase. They can implement any of this, or come up with their own. The fact remains. Something should be done, please.
agree
-
i’ve played nurse since i first got the game and honestly don’t have that many hours with her, i kinda picked up on her power quickly. i’m rank 1 as well and never fail to get 3k or 4k

Like how can anyone argue this was anything but a straight up limitation on her? No new ways to do anything, just less ways to do the same things.
yes her skill cap is hard to achieve, but you’re probs playing the strongest player if you are skilled as nurse
-
@The_Daydreamer said:
She id easily the strongest killer in the game, but she is not fun anymore. Not because she is harder than before. Thats fine. The problem is that she feels.. just weird. Not smooth. Just kinda.. clunky, laggy, weird.. idk. I simply do not enjoy playin' her. I play every killer except she.

i do think she has unnecessary needs that are causing bugs and problems with her pressure in games, but a good nurse will never fail to end the match with a 4k. yeah this nerf for her was actually a bad idea but
-

That's 10 seconds of time that adds up that you don't have getting constantly punished for using her power.
it takes me less than 8-10 seconds to down someone if i find them (after first hit). sure, map could have a possible effect including if they have dead hard but this goes back to my point that once you’ve met nurse’s skill cap, ur basically playing as the best player in the game who can constantly teleport.
