  • I play a lot and I’m lagging every day almost every match now. Looks like I need to stop playing for awhile.

  • I struggled bringing in keys to get this because killers would just bring in Franklin's so I ditched that plan and equipped Left Behind, Open Handed, Plunderers and Ace in the Hole and was able to get it done. It took quite a lot of matches though.

it'd be abused by killers wanting to de-rank though and not fair on 4 survivors who actually want to play a game

    Good point. Scratch that.

  • Would someone mind posting the Level 4 challenges? I'm at work all day and am curious what they are. Much appreciated!

  • @Exerlin said:

I think killers should be allowed to open an exit gate at any time.

I like that idea. It would probably reduce the amount of dcns.

  • I am tired of survivors 99ing the gates. I’ve had so many instances where I could’ve escaped but because of that I lost. Every second is precious. I’m trying to get the touch stuff challenge so this is annoying me more than usual. I don’t even see Warden that often so it’s not an issue, but I’ve seen many people die cause of this.

"YOU chose not to exit to try and den..." Uhhh, what was that emblem called? Alturisb, Alturisk or something. Rings a bell?

"Just run Unbreakable" Sure, why not just bring every single perk to a match right?

"Perhaps the killer..." You do realize you are making an assumption right? Cause if not it would be a weird way to back up your claims...

I hope you got my point. This random toxicity is just awful in every way.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1140311#Comment_1140311

Yeah pal, some people just feel the need to show that they are "better". They think downing a survivor means they are a better player than them when the whole point of the killer and their loadout is to do that a bunch of times. My recommendation is to just open a video or such in your phone while these people bore themselves to death, works well when waiting in queues as well. Cheers.

You’re right. As soon as I knew what he was doing I should’ve switched channels for a few minutes and did something else just like when you’re left to bleed out. I hope someday there is a concede option for these types of scenarios.

  • @Pulsar said:

He is allowed to do as he wishes. It isn't exactly good sportsmanship, but it isn't breaking any rules either.

Just another reason we need a "concede" button

I understand. Yes, that’s exactly what I wish there was. I just worded it a little lengthy.

  • @OBX said:

So you are frustrated that YOU chose not to exit to try and deny the killer his/her K? You could have left, ran unbreakable, or perhaps the killer got DS several times in that match (you know, the totally fair 2nd chance perk) and decided not to risk it. Either way, just move on to the next match. Killers are expected to “just get gud” when gens are blazing away. Lol the entitlement

i think you missed the point of my post plus you’re making assumptions. I didn’t choose not to exit. Where was that in my post? I tried to crawl to exit as said in my post. I can’t run unbreakable after the fact. I believe he got hit by one DS, but I don’t see how that justifies this instance of petty behavior. Explain to me how I’m being entitled when I’m simply asking that I be hooked & sacrificed? Geez.

Yeah, sorry I didn't mean to imply you should have to play SWF. I am a solo player myself and Knock Out can occasionally be a problem. Just make sure you either run an information perk to keep tabs on other players, or run a slug perk to help yourself get up.

Slugging will be infinitely more common since Ruin is changed and Sabotage is going to be buffed big time. So make sure you prepare.

Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind.

  • @Ghoste said:

It's great against solo players, but SWF completely counters Knock Out. I don't think it's that useful personally.

I have to make more of an effort play SWF. It’s just easier to play solo because you don’t have to work around people’s schedules.

  • @Blueberry said:

I would also say though that games where they never pick up is extremely rare. The only times I ever see the killer fully let everyone bleed out is if they were very toxic.

Not to mention for the killer to be able to even pull that off and have everyone slugged at the same time with 4 of you up, the team had to be playing really bad in most cases.

Understood. Like I said it was very uncommon before, but for some reason since the last update, I’ve been seeing it a lot more often. This was the 3rd time this week. I know that most likely 3 times in one week will not happen again, but after this last one, I needed to vent my frustration. It always makes me feel better to do that on here.

  • @GodDamn_Angela said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1128769#Comment_1128769

If you get slugged often why wouldn't you run Unbreakable?

Or, do you think Killers shouldn't be allowed to slug so you don't have to think about countering it?

Since Unbreakable is a one-time use perk, it isn’t that helpful against a killer with Knockout & Deerstalker trying his hardest to keep you down.

I never said I don’t think killers should be able to slug. This is a specific scenario.

  • @Nicholas said:

That's a lot of perks to run, you just never know when you're going to run into Knockout. That's why it's increasingly best to just play with friends. I ran into that two nights ago but I don't remember who the killer was. I ended up dying on floor and the other did too. One person was slug near another and one of them had unbreakable so they were able to get back up. In an effort to punish the killer for such playstyle, they ended up wasting his time by hiding for 30 minutes and then the killer disconnected.

I enjoyed hearing about that punishment.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1128755#Comment_1128755

True but letting survivors bleed out gets you nothing. Im fine with slugging but pick em up at some point

Exactly. The killer wasn’t picking anyone up. He got a 4K at the end with not much BP. I assume he most likely didn’t pip. Also, no one had flashlights in the lobby.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Just run Unbreakable, Tenacity, Empathy, Bond etc. Easy counter. Or message another survivor where you are slugged. Another easy counter. Or play SWF with voice com. Another easy counter.

Since I have no way of knowing who the killer will be or what perks they have, am I supposed to run that build every match just in case the killer runs a slugging bleed out build? Thanks for the feedback though. I play a lot of solo. It’s hard coordinating SWF around people’s schedules.

What's the killer's way to leave the game that's within the rules?

You’re changing the subject. The comment is in reference to survivors suiciding on the hook.

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

Man why cant people just NOT want to play

You add DC bans, ok fine

now you want to ban/remove suiciding

...Yall must be a blast at parties

There’s so many reasons why people suicide. I think if someone is in a match and they decide they don’t want to play that match anymore, that is their prerogative as long as it’s within the rules. I’ve had matches where I suicided because I needed to for me. My most recent example was a killer that downed me and kept downing me when someone would heal me to injured state. I wasn’t enjoying myself at all. I just got home from a stressful day at work and wasn’t in the mood for that. I just wanted to actually play and have fun. Once he decided to hook me, i suicided and went on to another match they was actually fun cause I got to play and not just lie on the ground most of the time. You never know the reasoning behind people’s decisions to suicide. Perhaps they should do an anonymous poll.

The game is about the suspense and thrill of being chased or giving chase.Like all multiplayer videogames it's the competitive element that makes it compelling.

If survivors just forfeit and give up on hook where is the fun? oh I get hook points now whoop-de-do. Totally makes the game fun. Likewise for killers going afk.

    DC penalties have solved nothing.

I honestly haven't noticed a significant (keyword) decrease in the number of disconnects since the penalty system was put in place. I understand the need for it, but I agree that it has not seemed to solve anything.

I agree playing Killer is the most stressful it has ever been, but I completely disagree NOED is a must for most killers lol.

I'm a rank 1 killer main and was annoyed at the Ruin nerf, but still play the game without Ruin and haven't once gone near NOED. It's the easiest perk to counter and is not worth the perk slot for a late game kill.

A solid perk build that works wonders for me is:

    - Nurse's Calling

    - BBQ

    - Overcharged

    - Surviellence

But people need to remember it's not just the build that wins games. It's how you play. For example:

    - Knowing when to end chases

    - Putting your main focus on patroling Gens instead of survivors

    - Understanding the location of the gens and encouraging survivors to repair the ones furthest apart first

    - Being able to mind game and predict what the survivors are going to do

    - Don't let the behaviour or survivors get to you. It's just a game.

Thank you for the tips. Much appreciated. I've been a survivor main for too long and I've been devoting half my time lately to playing killer so I can main both. I only played killer before just to get rituals or challenges and the highest level I got to was 14. Now I've gotten to green ranks and I'm getting wrecked every match gong against purple and green ranks especially since I don't want to camp or tunnel or use NOED. I will keep the things you said in mind when I'm playing.

If I run the killer for 3 minutes and the team doesn't pop a single gen + they sandbag me by pallet camping even tho IM in the one in the chase.. After I get downed and I see noone on gens I will get the hell out of this match on first hook. And yes, this happens in red ranks. Can't deal with dogshit like this.

    Ditto.

Whats the problem? If i see a survivor trolling another as killer I mess with the trolling one. I think most killers do so.

I wish that were true in my experience. It’s quite the opposite.

  • One good reason SB is a better perk right now is because DH is buggy. It hasn't been working a lot of the time for me recently so I've been switching to other exhaustion perks.

  • @Carpemortum said:

The same way as old doctor?

Calm spirit, iron will, and lockers.

It also doesnt help the new tome has a lot of "shock" and "chase" as doctor. So theres a LOT of that going on.

The thing is that I didn't have an issue with the old doctor. I didn't struggle with him that much. I never had this DH issue before either. Maybe it's because of the challenges like you said.

  • This is going to be fun. One thing I like about these challenges is that it makes matches less monotonous. Some crazy stuff goes down. No matter what happens I'm thoroughly enjoying sporting Kate's new outfit around. I love it. I can't get enough of her. Love you Kate the Great!

Perks are a very personal thing. What works for me may not work for others. It also depends on what areas you struggle with and what perks youre comfortable with. Example: if your issue is finding people than BBQ and whispers would be very useful. I do Pop Goes The Weasel and Tinkerer can be a nice combo. I also like Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher.

The only thing I really would suggest is to use snares over fake pallets. They're much better for ending chases.

Thank you for your suggestions. My biggest issues has been ending chases. They’re too long and I need time to hook each person once. I will make sure to use snares.

I personally find Freddy the best for that. Map pressure, chase ending, etc. He's a great killer and easy to complete all non killer specific challenges on

I will definitely use him. What perks would you use with him for this? Thanks for your help.

  • I want to Platinum on PS4, but I can’t get the killer adept trophies except the one (Hag). I mainly play survivor and I’m a mediocre killer level 14-16. The survivor ones are so easy. I got them fast, but the killer ones are so hard for me. I finally threw in the towel on that.

  • @Unicorn said:

I’ve only escaped about 4-5 times while playing for at least 6-7 hrs yesterday solo’ing. You are speaking facts.

I’ve played a ton since the update and have had the same experience. Very few escapes.

  • Ditto. I play solo survivor PS4 purple ranks and the killers have been winning most of the matches. In the last 10 matches, I haven seen 2 people escape once, 1 person twice and the rest 4K. The last match was a major gen rush but the killer recognized what was happening and adjusted his tactics accordingly. He got a 4K with 1 gen left (I almost had that gen done when he found me). I have not seen any difference since the update. Killers are still performing very well at least at my level in solo.

You wouldn't get it. Now imagine the joker meme please. But it still stands there is stress because any strategy that could turn the game in killer favor in my case it earns me the title of scumbag this 4v1 mentality it makes some people vile, you get made to feel guilty by some for doing your job as the killer you'll get made to feel like you did something wrong.

    People are mean.

People can be so mean in this game, but that's never going to change. I'm a survivor main. Although I despise camping and hate to be tunneled, I can totally understand now more than ever why this will become the best strategy for a lot of killers and I'll just have to deal with it and move on. I always try to tell myself that it's not personal. There will always be another match.

You think that's bad. One is "Complete four full generators in a single match".

I'm at work so I don't know what the challenges are, but you've got to be kidding me. That's almost impossible. It's one thing to "finish" four gens in a single match, but to complete them fully? I've had matches where the killer is AFK and I still can't do that because people are doing other gens elsewhere at the same time. This sucks.

  • @DeathBeam said:

Happy facecamping, tunnelling, slugging, playing dirty, and salt Day.

So true. I’ve played 2 matches so far in purple after update and both doctors camped tunneled and/or slugged. Ugh.

  • I’ve already played 2 matches after installing the update on PS4

  • I'm rank 8 atm and consistently get killers ranked 13-17. I understand why so many of them are tunneling and/or camping. Actually I've had a lot of matches lately where the killer quit midway.

  • I rarely see them, but it doesn't bother me since I also rarely use them. I have a lot built up. I'm superstitious and believe they're bad luck. I might as well have a black cat walk across the screen. Whenever I would use one, I'd have the worst match. Camping, tunneling, slugging, disconnects....you name it. I used them during the Rift Challenges when a killer messaged me before the match started saying he wanted to farm.

Since you're very and extremely obviously a new player, I'll explain this in the simplest terms possible.

There are only two scenarios where the killer in question got 25k bloodpoints.

    1. He camped someone, and the rest of your team mindlessly fed themselves to him like bots (aka - giving them what they want, and a reason to camp more in the future) and farmed eachother over and over so he got multiple hooks and sacrifices..OR..
    2. He wasn't camping.

If a killer got 25k points from camping, the fault lies ENTIRELY on the survivors who fed themselves to him on a silver platter. So, good job. You did it to yourself. You don't get 25k points from camping one person, and you don't get the amount of hooks required to GET 25k points from camping, unless the team offers themselves to the killer by bum rushing hooks, which is what I'm betting you did.

Just stop, you're making yourself look really bad.

Case in point: I had a match the other night that I found satisfying because I happen to be playing with one of my gen rush builds (Mither, Resilience, Prove Thyself, Kindred + Commodius/Extra Charge Add-Ons) when a LF downed and camped someone at the start of the match. I finished a gen after the person was downed and thanks to Kindred knew he was getting hard camped and found another survivor to finish 2+ more gens with while he was on the hook. Shortly after that player died, there was 1 gen left. Another ran him around for a short bit (didn't take me and the other much time at all to fix the last gen) & the 3 of us escaped. That killer got close to 7K.

We already have a system for rewarding people for playing a lot. Its called the Rift. That is what I said in my original post. I would have agreed for rewarding ranks before the Rift was introduced. But since we have it now, I wouldnt.

    Ya gotta love the sarcasm.

  • @lasombra1979 said:

If ranks were based on skill, I would agree. Right now, it is based on how much you play. I do not see the reason to reward someone for playing the game a lot again. We already have that system set up with the Rift.

Wait...we shouldn't reward people for playing the game a lot? Isn't it better to encourage people to play more often? I've always been a grinder. I play this game a lot and try my hardest every match in solo survivor. A lot of the games I play reward you for grinding a lot and putting in a ton of effort.

  • Kate will always be my main and my favorite. I love her. I wish she had as many outfits as Claudette. I want a huge closet to pick from...haha. I have obtained most of her clothes and enjoy mixing and matching. I was disappointed that she didn't have a single piece of clothing to unlock in the rift. I do agree that her biker outfit rocks! The only outfit I hate is the Award Night Opulence. It's hideous. Tarzan Jane and her clodhoppers. However, I do love the makeup so I bought just the face from that outfit and use it with other outfits.

I'm glad that you made a post about Kate. Kate is great...give her an escape cake!

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

it's either you don't reveal him in plain sight or reveal him through walls lol

Unfortunately I've had many instances where I'm staring directly at him in plain sight and the reveal does not work. It's totally glitchy. Other than this, I have no issues playing against GF with the exception of the GFs that hide near the hooked survivor so they can mark the person doing the unhooking.

  • I play predominantly solo survivor (green/purple ranks) and I rarely see keys brought into matches. I hardly ever bring keys into matches myself, which is why I have so many. I was curious so I did a key count and the grand total for all survivors combined is 153. Usually I'd bring keys into matches when I was trying to prestige a character and wanted to use up all of his/her items first and also for the rift challenges.

I would agree that keys appear too frequently in the bloodweb. I think they should just make them appear far less often and only when you get to 50.

  • I care more about de-pipping right now because it's close to the end of the season and I'm in purple ranks dangerously close to red. I do not want to start the next season at 5. I never want to be in red ranks again. It is completely unfun for solo players like myself. I like to try my hardest too, but not at the expense of having fun. I switch my perks around and try fun combinations and alternate characters. Obviously, this game can be monotonous at times so it can be fun to randomly choose perks and characters. It sucks because lately I've been getting red rank killers and with their ultra rare add-ons they're too OP for solo survivors. I'm more of a stealth player and they're usually too smart to lose in a chase & once I'm found and they see I'm not an expert looper then bam I'm tunneled out of the game. I don't think I've ever had a fun match in red ranks. I've gotten nasty messages from red rank survivors for my gameplay, choice of perks, etc. I try my best every match, but sorry I'm not a super tryhard.

Actually there is nothing to learn anymore. The devs added the rail next to the ramp with one of the latest patches so killers don't have to learn how to swing onto the hay anymore. You can now just run onto the hay via the rail on top of the ramp which makes the tractor a free hit at all times. Kinda skill free but meh... DBD devs don't care about skillful plays anyways.

Wow I didn’t even see said ramp. Sigh.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

you can swing onto that spot from the ramp you use to originally get on top of the tractor so not really.

I have no idea why that didn’t occur me. Forgive my ignorance.

  • @Tisfine said:

You do know you can walk there from the side?

Devs added that part so it would make it easier for killers to do that Tractor tech.

No I guess I didn’t. You mean when you walk up the tractor ramp you have to walk off that side? Now I feel stupid. I rarely play killer. I just play them for rituals.

  • @PistolTimb said:

I'm pretty sure that is not an exploit. If the survivors can get somewhere you can too. There is a very thin line you can walk across.

I tried but I could not get him to land on it. I’ll have to practice when I’m on that map again as killer.

  • I tried it a couple seasons ago to see who far a gen rushing build could take me. I got to rank 7 from 15 with it (Mither, Resilience, Prove Thyself, Dead Hard). Although I did use a toolbox every match because my David is the only character who has every perk in the game so I have a crazy amount of toolboxes. I also used start trial with someone or all offerings. I had some bad tunneling matches that were frustrating and made me want to bag that build so for me it was key to not be caught early. Higher rank killers that caught me wanted to take me out ASAP. It became too hard in higher ranks.

  • Not in solo survivor hell.
