Problem with people and that challenge they just race everyone they catch straight to the basement making it obvious what they are doing. Plus I expect them to camp or least sit nearby waiting for the save notification so they can rush right in. Why would I even go near the basement at that point?
Besides - rule number one for any survivor should be 'don't get hooked in the basement ever'.
I’ve learned that the hard way. I wish I kept track of how many of my matches turned on a dime because someone got hooked in the basement. Boil Over may not be the best perk but it has saved me from getting hooked in basement many times. It’s my yeah go ahead and try to hook me in basement perk.

i understand what you’re saying. What sucks for us non-toxic solo survivors is those type of survivors ruin it for the rest of us. Sorry you have to deal with that though. Do what you feel you need to for your own well being.

I had a guy use an ebony mori and face camp/tunnel then mori. It happens so often and the guy had the balls to message me to say how bad i was. I called him on his play style and he said "if i played normal you'd have no chance". 😒
I've had killers who have camped or hard tunneled me message me after saying "git gud," "ur trash," and most recently "u should stop playing this game as survivor." They won & I moved on yet they feel a need to message me and insult me as if camping and/or tunneling and winning wasn't enough. Something is seriously missing from these peoples' lives. Sad.

I’m on my 4th try. I don’t mind the challenge but I prefer it be within 10 tries. I’m using Dark Sense, Bond, Open Handed & Prove Thyself. On my 1st try I was finishing a 4th gen when the killer hit me near near the end and the other remaining survivor didn’t rescue me. :(

It is so well written and informative that I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for your time and thoughtfulness in writing this. It is certainly much appreciated by this avid DBD enthusiast.

Not on PS4 or Xbox, meaning these players are basically screwed when it comes to these challenges.
What he said. Oh this is going to be a fun challenge. I may need to imbibe beforehand.

I was fortunate enough to actually get it in 1 attempt, Entity be praised.

I look forward to hearing peoples' experiences trying to get the 6 ft. under challenge.

I think the thing most people will talk about us the passive madness. They are taking it away, along with having to switch between punishment and treatment mode.
So basically, survivors don't get madness simply for "existing". AKA - Doctor requires actual tracking.
As a solo survivor who prefers a stealthy playstyle, I'm all for it.

The DC penalty doesn’t go straight to 5 mins and then from 5-15 mins ? the OP is clearly over reacting / lying .... so shh
Fair enough. But, there still should be a Vote Down option. Just saying.

I think a long time ago you used to be able to apply on-hit effects via hook hits. Like with Billy's original begrimed chain you could hook someone, then chainsaw into them a bunch of times to make them do gens super slow as back then the effect stacked with itself. With enough chainsaw hits you could make survivors actually regress generators instead of repairing them.
I may have nightmares about this.

4 sacrifices in basement will be the sucks with DCs
Exactly. It should be 4 kills in the basement not sacrifices. When I was doing the "kill obsession 4 times," I had 2 dcns and both counted, but when I had dcns with the sacrifice ones, they didn't count. They need to account for dcns.
-
As a solo survivor player, I don't see keys used that often actually. I hardly ever bring in keys to matches. I easily have over 100 of them combined. Now I want to know exactly how many I have. I'll do the exact count later. Stay tuned...

@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
Keys would be fine if they were only obtainable via blood web, like a mori. You shouldn’t be able to load in empty handed and find an item that changes the game so much. When I’m playing killer I can’t break a pallet and an ebony mori falls out for me to pick up.
Lol. Thanks I'm at work and I needed a laugh. I agree though. Hey maybe Killers should have their own chests they can open.

Why isn't there a Vote Down option?

Has it become acceptable to camp as LF? When I questioned the last LF who camped me because frankly I'm getting tired of it, he said you do realize I'm playing LF? Oh I see so that makes it ok? What has the DBD world come to?

Specifically talking about:
6 ft Under: sacrifice 4 survivors in the basement in a single trial
Hungry Jaws: 6 bear trap catches in a single trial
But also the non-lore:
Dark Senses: Finish 4 gens with Dark Sense in a single trial
Agitated Advantage: Hook 5 survivors in the basement using Agitation in a single trial
Every single other one is shockingly easy, but these... bruh.
Doesn't the 6 ft. Under one kind of urge killers to camp? That's not good for the game. Idk how I'm going to get that one. I hate camping and tunneling and I'm a mediocre killer. Sigh. Can anyone who's gotten that one let us in on how you did it?
-
I was totally gonna post about this recently. I use it a lot and it’s so unreliable lately. You never know if it’s gonna work. It’s hit or miss. I’m starting to think I need to replace it.

Sometimes they are not even toxic in postgame they are really nice, you can't really tell.
Keep that in mind and just like, play normal tbh. If they are salty in post game lobby chat just report them, they won't get banned unless they do it over and over and over though because BHVR doesn't punish unless it's really bad; since there are not many players as is.
I couldn’t agree more. I never teabag and until recently I never use flashlights which is why I have a zillion of them! But with the rift challenges I’ve had to use them on killers lately and I’ve been called toxic for that.
-
Amusing to note: I’ve had some Yui players recently that motion me to follow them to a pallet so I can watch them reset it! They want to show me Yui’s incredible strength! Show-offs! I needed the laughs. Kudos Yui players.
-
Sorry but I don’t consider suiciding on the hook toxic. Yes I’m sure a ton of people suicide for petty reasons and that sucks big time, but I think there’s people that suicide who aren’t petty or salty but they have other reasons.

and thats how matchmaker is forcing you to play swf (even without voicecoms just to play with ppl you know you can rely on)
Yeah I don’t know how I’ve lasted this long in solo, but with matchmaking this bad I’m ready to find SWF or quit.
-
@S_Panda said:
You answered it yourself: rank 20s get thrown into matches asap so they can 'enjoy' the game as you can't derank below 16 very quickly (at least I assume so even with the recent reset change) and after that I believe you can't even depip on purpose. This way they don't have to wait for 4 other players who happened to just start playing (or at least started playing the role they chose to play) and after a few matches of getting bashed in they find their ground hopefully.
Yeah this game is not newbie friendly. I feel bad for these players. I just had a match again with a 19 & 20s. One of them got tunneled to boot. I tried hard to get the killer to leave him alone and come after me, but to no avail. The killer was 19 so I’m sure he feels he has to tunnel to win. It’s bad all around.
-
@Mushwin said:
adding to this....sometimes when you play a new killer, survs think you are bad because you are trying to learn it
So true. I was trying to learn Oni and I was awful and this SWF group (all with similar names) kept sending me party requests after. I ignored them but then one of them messaged me saying I should stop playing this game. Wow. And they wanted to get me on a mic with them so they could all insult me. ######### is wrong with people?
-
I would edit that to say solo survivor matches are killer sided and SWF matches (particularly 3-4 man) are survivor sided.

Iron will and sprint burst are your best friend :)
Doesn't have to be an actual flashlight save, so you can do the blind extra early if you want to 100% make sure you get it.
Thank you so much. I thought it had to be a save. I’ll try again.
-
I got the regular blind ones easy while the killer breaks pallets, but I can’t get the carried survivor one. I gave up. I tried so many times :(. I need tips on that one.
-
I was actually thinking of posting this same comment before. I face GFs like this 95% of the time. It’s so annoying. I like being altruistic but every time I save someone I get marked while saving then downed immediately after I unhook, then unhooked survivor gets tunneled. But, this is the hell that is console solo play. I rarely get a LF that doesn’t camp. I rarely get a Spirit that doesn’t leave immediately so she can phase right in on the unhook. I rarely get a Myers that doesn’t slug everyone.

Franklins is a lousy counter to keys. It will take 10 hits at rank 3 to dully deplete it, as well as it can picked back up if dropped. Not only that, even if you die, the other survivors can pick up your key. That last part alone is especially abused in SWF teams.
I think my response applies more to solo. I can see how with a good SWF group it’s a useless counter.

Just grab a broken key, literally any addon and mind channel.
Yeah I did that once. It’s amazing how many more dull & skeleton keys I find on my blood webs than I do broken keys. I rarely see the broken keys. I got Yui to level 45 and I did not see one broken key. Is it that way because the devs keep hearing complaints that broken keys suck lol.
-
@LemeTheMeme said:
Moris have quite literally no counter. I mean you can say “don’t get hooked”, but that sentence is just trolly. With a Mori, you can tunnel and don’t have to worry about DS. Not only that, but you get such little blood points in a with a Mori on both sides. However, it’s not like killers are the only winners here, keys have literally no counter either. Both of them grant cheap kills/escapes that are problematic for what DbD is today.
Keys have a counter: Franklin’s. I’m trying to get the deplete 3 keys challenge and I’m struggling cause 4 matches in a row now killer has had FD. I think they see my key in the lobby and equip FD.
-
Same every season. I get to purple ranks and the killers are downright nasty. I’m trying to try my best for my fellow survivors but derank at the same time. It’s a pain. Most high rank killers in solo survivor console are the worst. Keyword: Most.

Backing out once you see the offerings is just as bad as a DC cause you cause the match not to get played and have wasted the Killers time who sat in a que waiting to play a game. I dont see what I want to see but once the ready screen is done yes your in a game so you are DCing even if you leave once you see the offerings.
I honestly didn’t know that backing out was considered a dcn. I’m just learning this now. I’ve had to back out on occasion because of important personal reasons. If I have to leave at a moment’s notice I’m not gonna leave after the match starts or leave and go afk. That’s worse. I’m sure plenty of people have been in that position.

Im a killer main and while I do play survivor I am also a streamer if you think you get moried alot add the TTV tag on your name and you will see a lot more hate come your way. The sign of a good killer is one who brings a mori and can hook everyone twice before using the mori and its something I try to do unless someone tells me to 1 hook mori. But I will also not tunnel someone off a hook as that is another sign of a weaker killer player a good killer can go after the person who saved the hooked player and deal with them in a timely manner setting up a even better kill later in the game. Now if you DC because you see a killer secret I hope they track your account and ban you for that as that is poor sportsmanship to start. I will some times bring the Shroud of Separation just to see if a group is SWF and if one DCs I knew they thought it was a mori. Makes for some fun after match chat and a nice little report to the player who rage quit. Honestly they need to change the timing of offerings to be shown when the camera is spinning around the characters in game so its very clear that someone rage quit as I do know the game can crash while loading. Some times you run into good killers and some times you run into bad but to DC just because you think someone brought a mori? That is a real shame.
Do people just see what they want to see? My original post said nothing about dcn. I don’t dcn nor would I ever encourage anyone to do so. I talked about backing out of the loading screen which to my knowledge is not against the rules. The match doesn’t start and nobody loses anything.
-
Am I missing something or is backing out during the loading screen against the rules? I don’t dcn.

Trapper. I'm so unlucky.
Omg me too. I had a match recently where I stepped in so many traps that the killer thanked me at the end. No one else was stepping in then. Sad part is that I wasn’t doing it on purpose. I’m a klutz in life and in the game.
-
I should of kept track, but yeah I get them a lot more often than that. But they can be sporadic. I may not get one for 10 games but one night I had 3 out of 4 and that was a very unpleasant evening. Of course I do play this game too much. It’s an evil addiction lol.

I play killer main and, honestly, people who tunnel for moris are just stupid lol. I have only tunneled a couple times, won’t lie, but never for a mori. Either you get stuck with bad killers or you are focusing too much on moris there bud.
I wish I ran into more killers with your mindset. I think I just have bad luck with those. I’ve had it happen so many times in recent months that I’m over it. It took me quite awhile actually to get into that last lobby only to be tunneled and Moried. Offering, purple toolbox with new part and socket swivels all a waste!
-
Ok so I’ve known about the bug so I try my best to stay away from basement. I had a match where first 2 people hooked in basement quit. I don’t blame them. I was far away from basement but not quite far enough cause the killer had iron grasp. He made it just in time! Bam! Basement bug! So what am I supposed to stay on the complete opposite end of the map the whole match? I mean come on.

I'll suicide on hook because, even thought it was a green ping, the lag is so bad that I pretty much can't play. I shouldn't be banned for that. Suiciding lets the killer at least get their points. Survivors also suicide to give the last player the hatch.
I've also accidentally died on my first or second hook because my finger slipped during the stupid struggle phase.
Anyway, it's an in-game mechanic. Banning for using it would create problems. Especially if you end up banning people with arthritis or other ailments who physically cannot handle struggle phase.
I couldn’t agree more.

They're legit strategies. I hate to say it, but the best counter is to not get caught.

Is it because they’re working on the rift?
-
Hmm I haven’t seen that trailer but it’s similar. Eerie.
-
I guess I should be banned for life without parole because I’m a friendly killer a lot of the time. I’m not a killer main and I like being nice. I play killer for ritual and tome challenges. If someone dcn, I’ll still play like normal but I’ll keep track of hooks and let them live at end. If a survivor makes me laugh, I’ll let him/her live. If I see a seemingly low level survivor struggling a lot I’ll let him/her live. If survivors ask me to farm, I’m game. If there’s one survivor left and he/she hasn’t been toxic, I let him/her have hatch. What’s the big deal? Now nice killers are ruining the game too? What next? I’m wondering what hasn’t been complained about in this game.

You would assume incorrectly. You are given the option to try and unhook yourself or let someone else do it. What if you're just a person who wants to try and kobe? What if your grinding for the achievement for hopping of the hook on your own? You're gonna go through a lot of games until you get the right roll of the dice.
Honestly, I think it is much better for someone to suicide on hook than just dc. At the very least they hopefully have done something before going down or ran the killer long enough for us to at least get gens going a decent bit. As to killers having to suffer through games? You don't. Just go afk or dc. They can't get anything out of you if you just don't play into their garbage.
Life is too short to waste any energy on garbage survivors or garbage killers in a trial. If devs wanted to they could solve a lot of these problems, but they aren't priority unless the game starts to suffer on a large scale. If enough start dcing or afking in the basement then eventually something will happen.
I couldn’t agree more. I don’t get pissed at others when they suicide. It’s their prerogative. Sometimes I want go for a unhook usually cause of an offering and then I’ll struggle and there are times when I don’t but that depends on a lot of factors. Sometimes on the 2nd hook, I don’t feel like struggling. Sometimes my hands get so sweaty that I have issues pressing the x button repeatedly. I’ve had a lot of instances where my finger slips for that one millisecond. I wish they’d make it so you just hold down the x button instead. It’s just a game and I’m fine as long as people don’t cheat or are toxic but I don’t consider suicides toxic. Just my opinion.
-
I think there are times when it’s warranted. I rarely do this but there are situations where I have particularly when the lagging is god awful. I recently suicided in amatch where the lagging was so bad I had to run to a gen 5 times before I didn’t get sent backwards then during the chase I was sent right back in front of the killer after gaining good distance. That’s just a waste of time and I’m not sticking around for that.
-
I don't consider bleed-outs to be minor. It's my biggest pet peeve. On the night of rank reset, I had several matches where survivors were left to bleed out and anyone coming to their aid were slugged as well. I had 3 matches where I was left to bleed out the entire 2 minutes. People can say it's not that big a deal if it doesn't happen often, but when it happens repeatedly, the amount of time wasted adds up. Personally, I don't get upset at others for dc in that situation. Usually I go AFK and do others things to pass the time. Also, I've come to realize that perhaps I need to not play the game for at least a week after rank reset. I've been slugged, camped and tunneled in more than roughly 75% of my matches since rank reset and that's just ridiculous. Solo survivor is hard enough as it is.
