  • Yeah, I miss those times too. I think it's funny, back then they had a smaller team and they had time to do these kind of cool events. Now they're a much bigger team and suddenly they've no longer got time to make an event where players can grind for cosmetics. Either live with getting recolors with a code or buy a skin with real money.

I'm trying to be optimistic about their statement of making Halloween and Anniversary events special again, at the cost of other events being like this. Guess we'll see in a couple of months.

  • Rank means nothing, you'll meet as many boosted survivors up there as any other rank, and once you get the Rank 1 achievement, there really isn't any reason to wanna be Rank 1.

Rank doesn't really indicate skill, it indicates playtime.

  • I used it earlier and it worked fine

  • Breakable walls on The Game are horrible. They create so many dead ends, that survivors have little to no control over, unless they fix a certain generator. I once jumped down the bathroom and was stuck there with 2 closed walls and 2 breakable walls. I couldn't get out until the killer broke a wall to get to me.

  • It's definitely an improvement, but there are a few things on my mind.

    1. I'd love if Bhvr would make a statement on why they insist on making survivor portraits vertical. If it's because of upcoming features or something, would probably help us understand why we can't go back to horizontal portraits.
    2. Power and addons are comically big, I know that I chose x killer or equipped x item, no need to have that information that big. Also the placement feels off, if you go into a game as survivor, without an item, you'll have one huge dead area with nothing. I'd probably switch hook icon and gens placement with power and addons.
    3. Like many say, I also think survivor icons should be replaced with the adept ones, it makes way more sense and fits with the style of the game better.
    4. Make bars bigger! It is tough to keep track of how long a survivor has got left, and it is an indirect nerf, that the bar no longer lights up when a downed survivor is getting healed.
    5. The scratches on injured survivors gotta go! In every other game I've played, scratched over pictures mean that someone is dead, and it just doesn't look that good at all.
  • They said they were moving away from doing other events then Hallowed Blight and Anniversaries. What they're doing right now is a 'celebration' I think.

So they'll put effort into making Halloween and Anniversaries more special, but these other former events won't be that big.

  • Blight also has horrible collission on the new Crotus Preen Asylum maps. I was playing on Chapel and kept sliding off of things that clearly should have collission, like random piles of rubbish. I love playing Blight so much, but for every rework they make him harder to play cause of sliding off of objects.

  • Hag. I might hate playing against Spirit, Freddy and Deathslinger, but nothing makes me more furious than to go against a Hag that put 3 traps around hook and 10 traps around basement if someone is hooked there. Either you run out and trigger all traps and she teleports back to hook or you can crouch walk, while she runs back. Lose/lose situation for survivor.

Twins is a strong second place though, due to their gameplay also consisting of camping and slugging.

  • I am pretty sure they said during a livestream that they weren't planning on working on Hawkins, since graphically it lives up to what they want. I think it was an answer to if other indoor maps would get reworked, after Lery's. You do have a point about Breakable Walls though

  • I doubt Hawkins is planned for a rework. Graphically it looks pretty good and my theory is that, once they've reworked the last maps, they're going to disable bloodlust, which will help with the whole "unsafe pallet" situation on Hawkins

  • Mains: Pig, Huntress, Oni, Deathslinger and Blight

Otherwise I play all the other killers, when I get bored of the mains and wanna try something else. Except Twins and Hag cause I really don't have any fun playing them. They both have to play a campy playstyle to be effecient, which I don't think is fun for neither me or the survivors.

  • I'm glad you guys agree. :) I'm still surprised they haven't changed it, it's such a simple change that'll give the perk some kind of viability, but still not be meta. Just perfect for an endgame build

  • They said they took into account that some things on the HUD were hard for coloblind players to see and that was going to be changed before the release. So I'm sure this is getting changed.

  • @RafoxGaming said:

Lots of people complain about NOED because it's an unfair perk, but they don't give ideas on how it could be changed.

The main issue with NOED is that the killer doesn't need skill to use it, he just get free insta downs once the Exit Gates are powered, which is really unfair especially if you're playing against Baby Killers.

So here's my idea to make this perk more fair by making it so that only good Killers can get value out of it: The perk is no longer a Hex, it no longer gives the Killer a 2/3/4% Haste Status Effect, and the Survivors get the Exposed notification as soon as the perk activates. Here's the new perk description:

"You are animated by an unseen force when the Survivors are on the verge of escaping.

Each time you hook a Survivor before the Exit Gates are powered, No One Escapes Death receives a token, up to a maximum of 12 tokens.

Once the Exit Gates are powered, each token is converted into a 6/8/10 second Exposed Status Effect that affects all remaining Survivors, up to a maximum of 72/96/120 seconds."

    What do you think?

I kinda like this change. Though I don't mind NOED in general, but I feel like it's a bit inconsistent with other Exposed perks/powers/addons. NOED and Devour Hope are the only perks that lets you know you're exposed, only when someone gets hit. Every other perk/power/addons gives you a warning as soon as you're exposed.

If only the current NOED would let survivors know they were exposed, as soon as it activates, I think people would have less of a problem with it, since they could just be more stealthy and immediately go look for the totem.

  • So many thing where made to disable it, so I feel like it should get a buff where it goes down half speed when being chased/slugged, or paused completely.

Also I hope it doesn't deactivate when you're getting healed (unless you've been fully healed). Cause there's still this thing called 'going back to hook' for killers.

swf treat solos just as bad as they use killers often actually, swf hurts both

Definitely! I was playing against a 2 man Russian SWF team. The other guy and myself were playing solo.

The Russians both had Breakout and did no gens the whole game, just followed each other as they went down and taking hits, making them go down merely a few seconds later. I kill myself on hook, cause I didn't wanna play that game and spectate. The second solo survivor was being stealthy, but had done 2 gens by herself (I did 1 and the two other 0), one of the Russians died and was clearly telling his partner where the solo was, cause he kept leading the killer to them, killing himself and the poor random survivor at the same time. In endgame chat they said, "the random deserved to die for playing stealthy".

  • I think I read Almo (not 100% sure) say that they intentionally removed the decreased item luck from the perk, cause of issues with the code contradicting Plunderers Instinct, so they had to remove it.

  • I bought Claudettes 3 'waves' cosmetics, back when they just got released. I thought they were beautiful and the best hair cosmetics for Claudette... then one patch... they changed them to give them hair physics and now it looks like she tried to cut her own hair and failed miserably.

    • "Each time a survivor is hooked with an active trap, they will have to search an extra jigsaw box."

Traps shouldn't encourage tunneling. I'd rather do it opposite, if a survivor with an active helmet gets hooked, then they have to search a box less. Discourages tunneling and gives the survivor a chance, if they get tunneled.

    • "If a survivor has a trap placed on them after all generators have been finished, they will have to search 3 boxes to get their trap off and they can't leave the trail through the exit gates with an active or inactive trap, if they do they will automatically be sacrificed"

Also feels a tad too strong, I'd reduce it to 1 box. Traps are meant to delay the midgame and not grant kills during endgame.

  • Killed the 3 other survivors as Pig and a Nancy was left alive. We were both looking for hatch, I see her in the distance, on hatch and go into stealth mode. I can see her looking around for me, teabagging, but I somehow managed to remain unseen and sneak behind her and closed hatch.

She told me in endgame chat, that it was unfair I did that, cause she found it first.

    • Playing solo survivor and getting teammates that go down after 10 seconds
    • When someone is getting camped by the killer and the other survivors just crouch close to the hook instead of doing a gen
    • "Aim dressing" making me hit a wall or pallet, when I clearly could've hit the survivor
  • In my 3 years of playing I can only remember having encountered 2 hackers, but they seem to be a bit more common recently. I've had 3 hackers these last 2 weeks. 2 while playing killer and 1 while playing survivor. They're also more frequent on popular DbD streamers stream. I can remember at least 5 instances of streamers, I watch, getting sniped by a hacker, recently.

    So something is definitely happening.

The most unforgivable act of laziness in my opinion is the continued existence of Iridescent Head.

When they made Deathslinger, they made sure his insta-down addon was near useless. Why doesn't that philosophy apply to Huntress? Literally any nerf would be welcome to the Iridescent Head. Most Huntresses I encounter refuse to use it themselves because it feels like cheating. And almost all Huntresses I find using it play as toxic as possible.

It's simply an unhealthy addon. I think a lot of people would be happier if they simply removed it. I wish the devs worked faster on this stuff.

I remember watching a stream with Mclean where he said something like "Insta down Huntress is a goner, don't invest in it." 2 years ago. Really goes to show how slow they work there, can't even change the most problematic and complained about addon within a 2 year span. First I thought they were waiting to change it for the Huntress add on pass, but then they announce her Begrimed Head getting changed next patch, so I can't figure out an excuse anymore.

Umm. You do know another Survivor can just kick Victor at the top of the stairs. I personally wouldn't class this as an "Exploit" but a Technique, as it doesn't give the killer an advantage and incentivizes them to lose the game. Like I said another survivor can kick Victor which would prevent this situation.

I think you need to play more as/against Twins. Victor can't be kicked when he's being controlled, unless he's pounced, which he didn't.

To the other people that suggest I report the player, I AFK'd during the match and left instantly when I died to EGC, I didn't get screenshots or see the killers name. I'm not trying to make a player report, just trying to bring this issue to the devs attention. But I'm pretty sure @MandyTalk said at some point things like this is considered taking the game hostage because it happened before EGC started.

  • They are so stubborn. They come up with Breakable Walls, ask the community what they think about it, most of the community dislike the Breakable Walls, saying just having a door next to a god window would be enough, yet they keep insisting on putting random breakable walls in every map now. They refuse to admit that they were a stupid idea and just keep putting them in the most random places.

Also how they could fix a lot of solo queue issues by making Kindred basekit, but keep refusing to. That's somthing I've been sad about ever since they said during a livestream, it wasn't gonna happen.

Why was Meg the one to get the mask, anyway?

Poster girl and cause it fits her role. In Deathgarden the mask belongs to the 'runners' and Meg is basically the 'runner' of DbD

  • Overthinking it. Here's a picture of Ace holding a very modern looking smartphone, from his archive lore. I don't think you can consider outfits 'canon lore'. Since that'd suggest Kate and Yui have played music together, David and Jake have worked in a mine back in the 30s, Claudette, Kate and Jeff having hung out at a bar together etcetc.

    image.png

  • Honestly, that's why I find the new survivor icon placement interesting. I can imagine them adding quick chat, where the message is place next to a survivor. It might just be wishful thinking, but that's the first thought that came to mind when I saw the placement and them announcing they redid the HUD, so they could add new features.

  • I feel like Exposed would make more sense if it was whenever killers see your aura, while one hit should be called Vulnerable

Well this is exactly what happened:

If you look at the chest animation that came with blight's patch, at the end, you stand perfectly, like shown in the upcoming new animations

It's funny, I noticed that too and assumed it was some kind of animation bug back then, but now it makes so much more sense

  • @Crowman said:

The worst part about this change is that undying doesn't really fit what the perk does anymore. It's now a 1UP.

I mean, that's exactly what the perk is meant to do. Kind of like a second chance perk for Hex totems, instead of a 4 chance perk.

They might still do the Chapel, as it's in the same realm. The overall realm is called Crotus Prenn Asylum, while Nurse's map is called Disturbed Ward.

Oooh yeah, my bad. I totally mixed up Crotus Penn Asylum up with Disturbed Ward. There's still hope!

  • I'm surprised it's only Asylum and not also Chapel, since every other reworked map have had all the maps from the same realm reworked at the same time.

There has been a double BP-Event during the Halloween "Event". But yeah, those double BP-Events are very rare nowadays.

Are you sure? Are you talking about Halloween 2020? Cause didn't we get log in rewards and not double bp.

  • @Katie_met said:

The game had a double bloodpoints event fairly recently so there won't be another one for a while. Use a survivor pudding as killer which gives you double bloodpoints in one match, escape cake does the same for survivor.

And also if you're playing killer use the perk Barbecue and Chilli which gives you double bloodpoints if you've hooked all 4 survivors at least once.

I don't recall any double bloodpoint event that happened recently. The last bloodpoint event I remember was Quarantine Blood Rush that awarded x1.5 bloodpoints that happened almost a year ago.

I don't think there's been any double bloodpoint event since the Halloween event 2019.

  • I've been a big fan of Kindred being basekit for survivors, ever since the buff. Reduce the killer aura reading to 6m, then have Kindred increase the number to what they are (8/12/16). I'd help out solo survivors so much and lessen the gap between solo and SWF.

Killer I'd say BBQ to encourage leaving the hook to find other survivors.

  • BBQ is a very balanced perks with many different counterplays, like jumping in a locker, hiding behind gen aura, go within terror radius, stand completely still for 4 seconds then move, move in one direction for 4 seconds then turn around etcetc

It also helps with the massive grind, that this game is. Only change I'd make to it, is to remove the aura of slugged survivors, since it reduces the risk of slugging survivors, especially encourages slugging for the 4k, since the odds of finding the slug is pretty big. Probably an unpopular opinion, but that's the only thing I don't like about BBQ.

Ah yes because games are definitely lost from start to finish due to ds/unbreakable... Just lol.

People are so deluded about that comparison. The combo is good in END GAME. Prior to that? It can potentially lose you momentum. I got no problems eating the DS if its used aggressively or if I gotta get someone hooked again quick or frankly if I just wanna get the DS out of the way if its there. Its a one time perk that tends to be wasted. If it gets used aggressively prior to EGC it tends to just result in the person getting picked up right after. Once DS is out of the way the unbreakable is out the window unless -you- allow it. Now during EGC even then the perk combo can be fruitless if the killer either 1) Hooks the survivor at a low progress gate or 2) Hooks the survivor as far as possible from the gates.

The only problem that needs to be resolved with DS is that it can be used to do a totem/gen with protection. Fixing that is as simple as deactivating it if a survivor touches a gen/totem. I wouldn't say it should go off for an unhook simply because that would then immediately strengthen facecamping.

The fix to both combinations are easy to address. Only the lazy and those that want to take advantage try to grandstand with two wrongs make a right.

Or... you could lunge at the survivor while they're on a totem/gen. The only point where you're forced to eat the DS, is if they go into a locker.

  • During one of Mcleans 2 years ago (yes 2 years), he said Huntress mains should say goodbye to Iri Heads, cause they were getting nerfed. Which hyped up a lot of people, but here we are 2 years later, nothings changed and they still haven't announced anything lmao. Just gonna have to wait for that Huntress add on rework, which probably happens after Clown buffs.

  • Definitely Exhaustion. They have been removing Exhaustion addons. Exhaustion addons are so outdated and I can't believe they still exist after so long, since the Exhaustion nerf.

Pinky Finger probably, it'll probably either be removed completely or reworked to slow his movement speed down, when holding a bottle.

His Mangled addon might get nerfed to just 60 seconds down from 120, since most killer released lately only have effects that last for 60 seconds.

You can still pass, but every killer needs an anti loop. Twins are able to bodyblock pallets, thus beeing effeective on that

I know, I can still pass, but she'll just switch back to Charlotte as soon as someone saves. At least other killers that camp, can't put on map pressure and can't be punished by doing gens. This one can camp and put on pressure at the same time.

  • image.png

Wdym they need changing? Twins are a well thought out and perfect killer. Just look at this amazing 'anti-camp' mechanic. :)

  • Old Legion used to be able to do that. Not anymore though. Only with Franks Mixtape. You are just giving the survivors a 2 second speedboost and yourself a 4 second stun.

Personally I think Twins are fun, it's just usual gameplay is more challenging with them

And I love seeing Piggy on the list of few killers at are P3 Lv 50 (she was the first character I got to Prestige 3 and she was the first to be Prestige 3 Level 50)

I don't like playing against Twins cause their best strategy is to mass slug, so I have decided not to play them, cause I don't wanna make people go against killers I don't like going against. Same reason I dropped playing Spirit. I hate going against Deathslinger as well, but he's just too fun to not to play. :(

I am a Pig main so she wsa my first P3 lvl 50 killer, as well! She's not as bad as people think.

  • Every survivor is P3 lvl 50 with all perks (Except Elodie, working on her)

I rarely prestige killers, unless I really like them. Pig, Spirit, Clown and Demo are P3 lvl 50 with all perks. Otherwise I've just gotten all perks on all the other killers (except Twins, cause screw Twins)

One thing that i like to see is Vitor having terror radius which is ridiculous counter BT.

Stay a hook release Vitor and no BT ... easy dumb mechanic.

BT is just kinda flawed imo. It's terror radius based, when in reality it should just be based on proximity around the hook.

Victor is around hook? Clearly not camping. Pig is crouched in front of hook? No BT, cause clearly not camping. Wraith is cloaked next to hook? Not camping either. Insidious next to hook? Too bad, no BT, cause the killer clearly isn't camping.

This can be said and done with so many perks and killer powers

  • @ukenicky said:

I honestly think Distortion is fine and if anything could use a buff.

I always see people pitch the idea of "make it so you can regain tokens by being in the killers terror radius" but I feel like that's a bit too much reworking.

Just slap 2 additional tokens onto it and make it default 5 and I think Distortion would be in a really good spot. It would be simple and give Distortion more value before it runs out. People who run Distortion know how to get the most value out of its limited uses as it can give you a surprising amount of info depending on when a token is consumed / tells you what aura read perks the killer has.

I just feel like slapping 2 tokens on is a boring solution. There's not much interaction with the perk, it's just kinda there and you get the benefit from the beginning. Making a terror radius based replenish system would make it much more fun and interactive imo and will make it a risk/reward perk. Wanna be able to hide your aura? Well you gotta hide from the killer first.

Technically there is a bonus for devotion but its not much

For every devotion level you get an incredibly miniscule bonus to iridescent shard gains

I think you're mixing devotion up with normal levels. At lvl 1 you get 50 shards, 65 at lvl 2, 85 at lvl 3 and it keeps increasing until you hit lvl 50-100 where you get 300 shards per level
