  • People say it's cool and good for more versatily perk loadouts.

In reality it's just gonna get used so people can equip a fifth meta perk. I have friends that run IW, BT, Exhaustion perk and has to choose between either DS or UB. If they got a 5th perk slot, they'd just equip both. Only way I can see it working out, is if the fifth perk has to be a personal perk, but even then it will just create meta survivors.

For killers it'd also just be a fifth slowdown perk. Ruin Undying, Corrupt, Pop and BBQ would probably the new meta killer loadout.

It sounds like a cool idea, but will just be used for running an extra meta perk

The Twins definitely need to be tweaked somehow because the way that they can be played right now is downright degenerate. Arguably, there's more "counterplay" to spirit than there is to Victor.

This!!! Whenever I see people complain about Twins, it's always their ability to camp and slug the whole team. I never see anyone talk about how Victor has 0 counterplay. You can't do anything but swing from side to side and hope that his gigantic hitbox somehow misses you. Otherwise his only counterplay is finding a small structure and running in circles around it, until you mess up or he leaves you. He can attack over pallets and windows, so those can't even save you, unless it's a Haddonfield you're on Haddonfield.

  • Change Borrowed Time from Terror Radius based to a set 28m radius requirement, so it trumps stealth killers that can avoid BT with their power and still work when you're in Freddys dream world.

  • I've never understood why Nurse and Deathslinger attacks get normal attack properties. Nurse I can somewhat get, since she'd be unable to hit most of her attacks without her power, but I feel like they should change Deathslingers cause NOED with him is just stupid. If Legions Frenzy doesn't work with NOED then why should his? I'm comparing these two cause they both do deep wound damage.

I think I just saw a post about someone asking for shift w to be nerfed so running in a straight line will be nerfed too. Sorry.

But in all seriousness to @Pepaman , I’m not sure what your experience is but looping is part of the game. There used to be infinites in the game that it was impossible for the killer to catch up, but unless there was some unintentional consequence from a change, those are gone. As you get more experience, you will learn how to counter the different loops with the different killer powers and also how to run them to make it less optimal for the survivor. I’m sure there are some YouTube videos out there you could Google to give you some tips.

That's true. I won't come back until survivors only run in circles around me.. wait.. that's the 360 exploit, I can never hit. I won't come back until survivors stand still when I find them!

All survivors should spawn on hook and only those who can kobe off gets to play the game!! So please nerf Slippery Meat and Up the Ante before that happens!!! >:((

  • Darn loop exploiters. Im done with this game until every survivor is a baby dweet that runs in a straight line >:( How dare survivors have skills

  • It's a reference to the show where he calls himself that

  • I got it first try, it's not really so hard if you're willing to be a bit toxic and embarrass yourself.

Spawn in and drop a pallet, vault it until you hear the killer coming towards you, then pick up pallet. Camp the pallet and get hit and then drop it on the killer.

It would be a lot easier if we could select more than one challenge. There have been plenty of times where I could have done two challenges in one match but the devs really want us to work our ass off for cosmetics that have been kinda meh these past few rifts in all honesty.

Honestly being able to pair all these "do 15 generators"/"do 15 totems"/"kick a gen or pallet 25 times" with some actual challenges. These are so grindy and boring and I wouldn't even call them a challenge to begin with.

  • I heard rumors that they're going to decrease a rift fragment from 800xp to 500xp next rift, so that means you'd get one rift fragment for every good game. I hope those rumors are true, that'd decrease the grind a lot.

These last days, I've got a lot of time Autohaven and Backwater Swamp.

And one day, it was like: Auto, Swamp, Swamp again, Auto, another Map, Swamp...

    I felt cursed. 😭

Same here! More specificly, I've gotten Azarovs Resting Place and Grim Pantry a lot. Two of my least favorite maps (besides Shelter Woods), so it's like the game is taunting me.

  • I play mostly solo and when I die, I leave, unless I wanna see how the match turns out. I'm pretty sure most other people also do that. If all 4 survivors escape, it's around the same time, so they're all there to say gg.

  • So instead of having to count on my solo teammates to do 5 totems to counter NOED, now I have to count on them doing 9? I get the idea, but that's not gonna be fun to go against.

  • I secondary Blight and I just think Blight is so fun to play, that I don't care if I win or lose. There is nothing more fun than to attempt to do something crazy with his power and have it work out. That gives me way more satisfaction than getting a 4k. His playstyle just feels way more fun and rewarding than any other (on par with Huntress trickshots)

  • Not counting Laurie, I'd say either Kate or Meg.

Meg has the skills to be the final girl. Athletic, smart and stubborn.

Kate looks the part most and I feel like she was designed with the final girl trope in mind. Friendly, caring and bringer of hope, but with a strong will and not afraid to fight back (according to her lore and perks)

  • Gives me headache, and I'd barely call it music. It feels like a lot of noises just stacked on top of each other.

I like the idea that the screeches and screams are from his victims, but I just can't listen to it without my head hurting.

  • Sprint Burst/Dead Hard = Sprint Burst discourages the killer from chasing you, can help you out if you're working on a gen with no pallets around. Dead Hard is more skill based and you'd have to learn how to use it, but it's good for erasing a mistake you did in a chase. I'd probably go with Dead Hard to begin with

Kindred - Amazing for a solo build, cause you get so much information when someone gets hooked or give your teammates informtion when you're hooked.

Iron Will - Helps you lose the killer during chase and you can remain hidden while injured

Spine Chill - Paired well with Sprint Burst, cause you know when to be alert for if the killer is coming towards you, so you know it's time to start looking around.

Kindred could be replaced with Bond, cause it constantly gives you useful information for what's going on around you.

    Killer Name - The Monado

    I'm really feeling it!

  • A lot better than last two updates.. I just wish they'd do more perk changes. Having 6 perks changes each midchapter isn't enough. I wish they'd start buffing perks during every update, both chapter and mid chapter. There are so many bad perks in the game right now, that could use a number buff or a complete rework.

  • @Satori said:

You guys get purple keys and medkits, i only get brown toolboxes 🤣

You get brown toolboxes!? I only get green keys!

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Yeah very disappointing. People pointed out how if more than one survivor brought it then it was wasted, which is a fair criticism. But instead of taking that info and tweaking the perk further apparently they just decided to completely give up and move on.

Ah yeah, that's a valid point I didn't think of.. maybe they've been postponing the buff to find a secondary effect, which would be nice.

  • Some killers are just better on certain maps. Like, Blight is horrible on Lery's, while stealth killers, like Michael, are pretty good. Meanwhile stealth killers suffer on maps like Blood Lodge, cause it's one of the most open maps in the game.

Not saying that it doesn't suck when you do get on a map your killer sucks on tho. I get your pain, I love Blight :c

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I still don't get why people make such harsh judgements during the PTB.

And before you say something like "Its obvious he's bad" people said the same for Slinger in his PTB and the same for Pyramid Head in his PTB.

Could he end up weak? Its entirely possible, but atleast give it more time than just a few games.

Or when Spirit was considered weak during PTB. And even still thought she needed more buffs after the buffs from PTB

The killer seems mid tier imo. He's got strengths and weaknesses. If you catch a survivor in the open, they're screwed and if they try to loop at a low wall loop, they're screwed as well. You can get a lot of knives hits on survivors going for window and pallet vaults. He gets screwed over at some jungle gyms and other loops with tall walls. Basically just a weaker version of Huntress and Deathslinger. But his power is super spammable, so I'm afraid how strong he'll be if they buff him too much. There ain't really much counterplay for survivors due to how fast he throws.

  • The perk is extremely weak. Even paired with perks like Infectious Fright, it won't help much, since you're slowe than survivors while carrying someone. If you pick up and then drop a survivor to chase the one exposed, you've already lost like 5 seconds of the exposed timer and if they hold W, they won't get hit.

It does it's job right though. If you're tired of survivors bodyblocking hook, then you've got a perk that makes sure that won't happen. Cooldown is just way too long though.

  • "Screw your yellow medkit" - Iri Head Huntress

  • I mean, it's good news if you guys see double pallets. That means you've got the lowest amount of pallets possible on the map. At least, that's what the devs say.

I had a groaning storehouse with 2 double pallets, right next to each other and a single loop, but it also meant all the jungle gyms were L and T walls and one long wall short wall jungle gym, combined with shack, meant we only had 7 pallets total. They were all in the middle of the map, so everywhere we ran was pretty dead. We went against a LF, so the match was lost to begin with.

  • I mean, do you mean realm? Cause Clown got released alongside Father Campells Chapel.

Killers released without a map are Ghostface, Blight and Twins, if I remember correctly

  • I completed the challenge using For the People, so it might be bugged

  • No mither, self care, inner strength and For the People. Green key + two charge addons

  • I mean, I wouldn't call any of it toxic, but rather both are unfun to go against.

  • @Beelzeboop said:

That's almost as bad as the killer challenges.

    God, the killer challenges...

They expect the killer to actually play The Nurse. Do you know how absolutely borked she is? She's about as inconsistent as Dead Hard and has a ludicrously high skill floor that absolutely nothing can prepare you for.

Have you ever gotten all the survivors hooked or slugged at one time while running Thanatophobia? I don't think so. That's about as bad as having to do a hatch escape as the last survivor. Worse, actually.

The Thana challenge ain't that hard, if you manage to get the perk on Legion. I got it first try. But yeah, for someone that haven't levelled up Nurse and only got that one perk... I can imagine that being tough.

I usually prefer doing killer challenges cause there are far less grindy challenges than survivor. I really hate all these 'do x amount of gens', 'heal x amount of health states' and 'do x amount of totems'. Where you know it's gonna take like 5 games to do, each.

  • Took me 5 game (as solo survivor) to get. Started out with Botany, WGLF and purple medkit. Though I never went against a killer that slugged.

So I put on For the People and started throwing the game. Followed injured and chased survivors around all game, until they went down, only to heal them up instantly and watch them go down instantly again and now the tradeoff is that I'm injured. I got trashtalked a lot in endgame chat, so that was a fun gaming experience.

  • @piggygooik said:

Idk how they made a map miserable for both survivors and killers

they have to decrease the pallet counts and add a code where a breakable walls Mae dead ends

Making a map miserable for both sides seem to be a trend that began with Midwich

  • It's better than before. I'm sure the devs have a good reason for the survivor icons being vertical instead of horizontal (got my fingers crossed for a ping system)

My biggest complaint is power/item + addon icons being too big. Like, I know what killer/item and add ons I brought with me. I don't need so big reminder. Also if you don't bring anything into the trial as survivor, there's this awkward and huge gap at bottom left. I'd much rather they switched generator count + hook counter with power/items.

I dislike scoring events being in top right as well.

I just miss the old HUD.

  • I've always wanted to totally rework Deju Vu into repairing generators that's been kicked 50% faster up until the point they were kicked from.

Would be a nice counter to perks like Ruin and Pop, while not really being super strong and having a condition to activate. It'd be decently strong, but I doubt it'd become meta over all the 2nd chance perks.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

I'm pretty sure that Ive made a post about this already, but recently Ive been seeing a lot more medkits. Probably because of how absurdly good they are and how they pretty much destroys a killers split pressure.

Having 2 or more medkits means that any chance of preventing a heal is gone and gens will go by faster due to the mass reduced healing time and increased chase times. Now that's their purpose, which isn't an issue, but to the extent they do it too is an issue.

To sum it up, they do their job too well and makes it hard if not impossible to get good pressure on a map against people who just rapidly heal. Splitting heals across multiple survivors isn't possible when the entire team can be fully healed in something like 30 seconds flat.

(Also get the "hurr durr killer main complaining" speech out)

I mean, medkits are the only items that's worth bringing for survivors lately. Toolboxes were nerfed pretty hard (rightfully so), flaslights are too complicated for the average survivor to use, maps were only good against old Ruindying and bringing a key will just make the killer dodge the lobby or tunnel you.

Though, I can't really relate to your issue, I've never played killer and thought "oh no, the survivors are bringing medkits" before

It's interesting to read all the different opinions on this subject. A while ago I made a poll about this and the opinions were divided too. I hate when someone I'm going to save tries to unhook themeselves in front of me. I'm coming to help them, so why are they trying to unhook themselves, while I'm right there? So they get points and not me. Then, if they succeed in unhooking on their own, they still want me to heal them. I'm sorry, but you were hooked, I took time of what I was doing before to save you and you steal my points away? That is not fair.

So, sometimes I do get the urge to just leave them on the hook to die, to teach them a lesson. Most times, I save them, for the good of the team and for points, of course. But if you unhooked yourself in front of me, don't expect me to go running the next time you are hooked and almost dead. Choices have consequences. You wanted to be selfish, I will be selfish too.

I just think it's funny and laugh. They asserted dominance on me by kobe'ing in my face.

  • Just happened to me.

We had just completed the last generator. I got hit by NOED and the game kicked me out, so now I just look like I was salty because NOED.

Got a nice 5 min ban afterwards.

  • I'd move scoring indicator back to it's original position as well.

Also I don't understand why items/killer power + addons are so big. Bigger than gen indicator and survivor icons. I know which killer and which addons I brought, why does it have to be so big?

  • "Lets take this killer, whose only counterplay is to hide behind walls and objects, and remove it."

I know Myers isn't one of the strongest killers in the game, but this isn't the way to buff him. Generally his power is pretty boring, stare until you get free instadowns. Imo Oni is just a better and more fun Myers.

I actually did when i saw your post, and there was only 1 streamer with a decent amount of views playing survivor. It was JRM with like 600 views, well under Tru and Odtz who had a couple thousand each. Lets check again in real time

    JohnWolfe, huntress, 1.3k

    ScottJund, Wraith, 1k

    Jaee, Ghostface, 1k

    FarmerJohn, Ghostface, 800

Oh look heres a survivor! Some guy named

    Willshayhan, Dwight, 100

I looked a little longer and found a guy named

    Duckdan, Claudette, 190.

Im genuinely confused because you seem like a troll but then you seem kind of pissed a lot of the time, but every single time ive gotten on twitch this has been the case no one wants to watch survivor gameplay!

Im willing to be open to the idea that somehow all the biggest dbd creators have somehow went under my nose but you told me to check at any given time, i have checked 2 times now and not a single survivor streamer had 1000 views. JRM is actually one of the only survivor mains i know off the top of my head and he SMASHED all other survivor streams with his 600 views. The highest one i can find right now, and i LOOKED. Couldnt even break 200.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1960414#Comment_1960414

And unless hes your alt or another aspiring troll this just adds to the confusion lol.

This is kinda dumb, I know plenty of survivor streamers that get a lot of views. I know that you looked in real time, but it doesn't really reflect the popularity of a role, only who has the biggest following atm.

ZubatLeL, JenDenise and Morf are survivor streamers that get between 1k - 2k viewers whenever they're live. Checking out Morf (that's streaming right now) he's playing survivor with 1.8k viewers. So saying one role is more fun to watch is kinda dumb, it's more of a preference what you like to watch, and who you like to watch.

Did they say it isn't? That's... disappointing. Only maps that won't have breakable walls then will be Hawkins and Lerys.

Honestly though breakable walls on indoor maps suck. Already proven by The Game.

  • They said it'll be fixed in the next Hotfix (most likely next week), I just assume people got tired of bringing up the same thing every day, after so long. Also it seems like the new daily thread trend is 'nerf DH' instead.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Of course. DS gets nerfed, now they go for the next Perk. When DS got nerfed and got the Unhook-requirement, the Forums were flooded with Threads to nerf Adrenaline for weeks. This will happen with Dead Hard now.

Once you give Killers a hand they grab the whole arm, more and more, never satisfied.

So much this. Adrenaline was getting so much hate back then and now it's like killers have completely forgotten about how 'op', 'unfair' and 'broken' it is.

  • Ping idea is what I've wanted for a long time, and is what I'm hoping they're trying to set up, by insisting that the new icons stay vertical.

Parts system I'm not that much of a fan of, sure it'd make gens more interactive, in a way, but the devs will have to alter so much of the base game and some perks to make it work. I don't see it happening. Also parts don't sound that hard to get. Killer can only be in a chase with 1 survivor at a time, so it's not that dangerous to go for one.

  • Hatch and EGC is already pretty killer sided.

The devs have stated the hatch was designed to whoever found it first would get it. So if you're in a chase and a survivor jumps in, they found it first.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Yep,getting event items was MUCH easier in the past but now it's just SO much harder to get them.I hate it.

You only get 1 chance to get them per year so why do they have to be so stingy? :(

And I feel like it's a common thing people complain about every year. Wasn't it like Halloween 2019, where you only got 1 Halloween item every second bloodweb or something? This is better than that, but doesn't beat that Winter event where you got 6 party crackers in every bloodweb

  • I hate how greedy devs have been with event items lately.

You get like 1 or 2 each bloodweb. Sometimes you only get envelopes, so no event items for you. It sucks for hoarders like me, that want to collect as many as possible before the event ends. Now we're like 4 days in and I've only managed to get 7 event toolboxes on my Meg and 3 on Nancy and 1 on everyone else. :/ I don't really care for firecrackers since I have a lot from previous years.

  • I like to run BBQ, Enduring, Spirit Fury and Corrupt Intervention. I like to add Compound Thirty-Three to the mix sometimes. Only one slowdown perk to find someone early game, cause it's supposed to slow down the game through ending chases fast. Enduring and Spirit Fury to not care about pallets and BBQ to find people after hooking someone, basically it's a "find someone early and then slowdown the game through short chases" build.

Some people prefer to change Corrupt out with Pop.

  • It's a secret, been there ever since Silent Hill DLC. If you do the gen in music room and chemistry classroom (I think) the door to in there will open up and you get a chest. I think the item gotten will be of Ultra Rare quality.

It's rare to see cause it's rare to have both chemistry and music room gens spawn at the same time.

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 18
