  • I love healer builds. I usually run a green medkit + charge addons with Botany, We'll Make It and Desperate Measures, if I feel like playing a support role. Though it doesn't really help if the killer is camping/tunneling. If the killer stays around hook, then you won't have time to heal the person before the killer downs them again. There BT and DS just help a lot more. With how campy the killers I've gone against lately, I just can't afford to not to run my DH and BT.

  • Like I said in another thread. I'd like the perk to turn into a risk/reward perk.

You start out with 3 token. To regain tokens you have to be in the killers terror radius or be within a 28m radius of the killer for 30 seconds. Getting chased will not give you progress towards a token. So you have to remain unseen, yet close to the killer, to get tokens.

  • I used to have every perk on my all survivors and killers. Got a huge burnout around Blights release and took a break until the midchapter. Managed to get all perk on every survivor (except Felix) and most killers, right before The Twins release.

I feel like I'm so far behind and won't be able to catch up again, cause I don't play as much as I used to. To get just the 3 new perks is 300k for each survivor/killer + having to get like 15 million bloodpoints to get every perk on the new survivor and killer. Grind is becoming unbearable, even for a veteran, like me.

I mean, I know I don't have to get every perk on all survivors, since they're just skins, but I'm a completionist and play like 60/40 survivor. They really just need to remove perk tiers. It's an outdated thing, that worked back when the game didn't have that many perks. Now there are a combined 164 perks in the game, which all have 3 tiers.

  • I've always liked the idea of being able to regain your tokens.

I figured that it should be something like 'For every 30 seconds spent in the killers terror radius, regain a token.' so it'd be a perk where you have to risk getting found, to get the reward of being unable to have your aura seen.

  • I'd either like them to go back to how dailies were. You could get easy dailies that gave you the amount of bp you get from dailies now, medium that were slightly grindier but awarded more bloodpoints and the 'hardest' that were super grindy but usually awarded around 100k bp.

Another way they could rework them is to make them, like they are on mobile. They've got daily rituals, that are kinda fast and easy to do, but they've also got weekly rituals that are a bit more grindy, but grant better rewards.

I hope for weekly rituals, since I almost only play killer for challenges or dailies lately. Once I do them, my interest in playing killer begins to decline. Some of my friends feel the same way. Having grindy weekly rituals for each role would keep me, and others, more motivated to play the opposite role more.

  • They changed this at one point to only go for the highest ranked survivor in the SWF, but it proved problematic, cause high ranked survivors had a hard time introducing the game to friends, since they'd end up going against Rank 1 killers. Then they reverted the change.

I personally think they should just go for the average of the group. Like a rank 1 and rank 20 should go against a rank 10. It's unfair for Rank 20 killers to go against Rank 1 survivors.

So the Bubba wants to remove BT? The one killer known for face camping and multi-killing off of hook.

    Predictable.

Honestly, since the rework, Bubba doesn't even care about BT. He can chainsaw the unhooked survivor and then still manage to catch up to them with BT.

  • I don't like these challenges like "Hook during EGC" where you basically have to throw the game to get it.

So I did Wraith with NOED, Bloodwarden, Infectious and Deerstalker. was invisible and let them do the gens, as soon as the last gen popped I slugged them until everyone was downed, opened gate and got my challenge. I've never felt like a bigger #########, but I did what I had to do. :(

  • Blood Echo is bad on most killers, but is actually pretty good on Legion and Plague, if you go against survivors that are smart enough not to heal/cleanse. Basically encourages survivors to waste time healing against Legion and giving Plague her Corrupt Purge, through cleansing or they'll lose their precious Exhaustion perk.

I had never thought about it until I went against a Legion with Blood Echo and BBQ, that snowballed so much, that I was basically always exhausted.

This is what I've been thinking about prestige and how to make it slightly better and also reduce the grind.

On regular and P1 you start getting T1 perks up to T3.

On p2 you start getting T2 and you can get T3 as well.

On p3 you start getting T3 perks instead of having to waste more bp for all perks.

You could also keep event stuff like cakes/flashlights/medkits etc.

Honestly the best idea regarding prestiging that I've heard. As someone who has every survivor P3 lvl 50, I'd love that. I don't really care about prestiging killers, cause I don't get to see the bloody outfits anyway, but if the devs did this, then I'd definitely begin.

  • It works fine for me. Are you sure the killer didn't have Stridor?

  • I'm glad they're changed. They were offerings, so they shouldn't have such a big impact on the game. No other offering was as game changing as moris were. Less/more hooks, less/more mist, don't really have a drastic outcome on a match. Also them being so strong and only an offering made it possible for killers to use their strongest addons, like iri heads + ebony and totally break the balance of the game. Also try to imagine if survivors had an offering that allowed them to do one gen less, that'd be the survivors version of a mori. So I'm glad that moris were changed to be a cosmetic offering, rather than gamechanging one, though I don't think they're worth the 7k bp.

Moris were far worse than keys anyway. Survivors have conditions to complete x amount of gens for the key to work, moris was basically just hook once and tunnel. Not saying that keys are fine, they definitely need to be nerfed as well, but I understand the reasoning that moris only needed tweaking, while keys need some kind of rework. So it was easier/faster to tweak them.

  • I think Demo is probably the most balanced thing in the game. Can teleport across the map with his portals, his shred can help in a chase but also force survivor to drop a pallet early. Meanwhile survivors can destroy portals as counterplay and fake vaults/pallets to try and avoid his Shred, which Demo can counterplay by letting go.

He's basically a killer, so fair, that it's almost bland and boring to play as him imo, but I still think he's the most balanced killer.

Other than him, I'd say pre-dedicated servers Huntress.

  • I'm thinking it's mostly gonna be useful at those junglegyms with a window and a pallet. Drop the pallet, run past the locker and use the perk, while killer is breaking pallet.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Let's not forget that it also prevents a survivor from leaving the game like a Pig trap.

Yeah, but I saw a streamer. He was unable to get out, but stood right in front of the spikes. When the killer downed him, he escaped anyway. So not like it does much.

  • These visceral cankers really do mess up The Game, cause they take a place for the generator, so some of those doors are closed and can't be opened. Not sure if considered a bug, but this is something I noticed.

  • Devs wanted it so whoever got to hatch first gets it. Killer can close it, if they find it and survivors can jump in, if they find it first. In situations where both are on the hatch, waiting for the third survivor to die, then the killer gets closing priority. No need for a grab animation then.

  • I used Michael with an Ivory Mori and played on Hawkins. You don't have to expose the survivors with Devour Hope, just pop tier 3 and you still get the challenge, then after 5 hooks mori one of the survivors.

And since totems are so hard to find on Hawkins, I managed to not have my totem cleansed and 4k by mori'ing all survivors.

  • Flashlight saves already gives you stacks tho? Unless they removed that at some point and are putting it back in. I've gotten stacks from both pallet stun saving and flashlight saving

  • Was injured and got healed by a teammate, I teabagged as a way to say 'thank you for the heal'. Meanwhile a Pig was approaching us in stealth, I did not see her, and she thought I was teabagging her. Got tunneled because of that and she told me toxic people would get tunneled.I was so confused

It is kind of unusual that they added breakable walls to one maps shack and not the others.

Probably because of all the negative feedback they got from doing it. Shack really doesn't need breakable walls imo

  • The sound is so obnoxious when working 2 or more on the gen.

Also, not that anyone used to perk beforehand, but now Feng Mins perk Technician serves no purpose, cause it doesn't turn down the volume of the motor, so killers can still hear you working on the gen

  • Because of hackers giving people up to 72 hour long penalties. Happened to big streamers but also happened to normal players. They keep turning it off to try and fix it, but have failed each time.

  • If they removed DS killers wouldn't start playing nicer. I really hate hearing people saying that. Killers would just start tunnelling more, cause they know they wouldn't risk getting punished. Have you ever tried playing survivor and loading into a game where there is no obsession? Cause whenever I get into a game like that (I don't run DS anymore, I prefer BT) 80% of the time the killer will just tunnel the first survivor out of the game.

But on the subject, DS has been changed before to be given a condition, Ruin was changed because of the passive slowdown it gave and it hurt new players while not changing much for experienced players. I'd love to see the more abused side of DS removed (locker DS for immunity), but DS as a perk is needed to discourage killers from targeting one survivor.

  • The basic attack thing is so confusing and inconsistent.

Perks like NOED don't work with Pigs ambush and Demo's Shred, the reason being "you have to press M1 to use it", but then there are killers like Nurse and Deathslinger, they also have to use M1 to attack with their power, but for some reason it is considered a basic attack.

Nurse I can kinda understand, but it seems strange for me how Deathslingers power put survivors into Deep Wound usually, but with NOED they go down instantly, meanwhile Legions power work exactly the same, M2 to M1 to put survivors into Deep Wound, but NOED doesn't work with their power, survivors go into Deep Wounds as usual. I know it'd be OP as heck if NOED worked with Frenzy, but it's just so inconsistent how NOED works with Deathslinger but not Legion

  • I don't really see the point that this post proves. If there's an AFK/farming killer, I'm just gonna wanna get gens done and get out, so I can actually get to play the game. I don't think a lot of survivors are going to think of NOED, if you're AFK and not playing the game.

Not that I'm complaining about NOED, but I don't think this proves anything.

  • I'd say Bond.

Empathy is good since it's unlimited and you can see exactly where the killer is chasing the survivor. Though, is that info you really need? I guess it's nice to know if the killer has abandoned chase with that survivor, but Bond just feels superior. Bond lets you know if someone is being chased 32m around you, and if you don't see anyone running then the chase is going on nowhere near around you. It also helps against accidentally sandbagging your teammates and helps you find teammates when you are injured, while Empathy helps you find teammates, but not help teammates find you.

  • Go to the gate and hold Space, if I remember correctly, haven't had to do it for a while now

  • @Zeus said:

Before EGC you can just open the gates and hold the game hostage. Now you 99% it and hold it hostage.

I get survivors 99% gates can be frustrating, but it's not exactly holding the game hostage. Killers can open the gate and start EGC, if survivors are just idling.

  • MMR is so weird. Just had it happen where I got into a match with people around my rank, everyone red ranks and then me and 2 others escape that match, everything was fun and fair and I think my MMR must've went up a bit. Then the game after I get a Rank 20 Wraith with 1 perk. I really have no idea how to explain how that happened.

  • I'd say Oni or Demo.

Demo has a kit that can do a bit of everything and it takes a bit of time to learn how to be good with him, when to use his power and when to fake it. Also where it's best to put portals and such. Only downside with his Shred is how he also started the whole "No cooldown on cancelling M2" trend that's been going on with killers lately.

Oni without Infectious Fright is also perfectly balanced. Have to work to earn your power and when you finally get it, you get rewarded with instadowns and great map pressure. Also survivors can choose if they wanna counter him by healing or if they'd prefer to spend their time on gens instead. The reason I say without Infectious is because his snowball potential becomes a bit too good imo, with it equipped.

  • Sorry about your horrible start to DbD. I am at around 2.5k hours atm and I feel awful everytime I get put against new players. With the emblem system it happened every few games, but now it's almost every game I get put against new players. The first day I figured I just had to play a couple of matches to get to my right place, but now we're 3 or 4 days into the new MMR and I still get matched mostly against new killers and survivors. Just yesterday I went against a Spirit with 0.3 hours, they had no idea how to hook or that survivors could wiggle out of her grasp. It's a pretty unpleasant experience to know you're ruining someones elses first couple of games. Most of my games end with me apologizing in end game chat.

  • MMR for me so far has been me destroying a baby killer in one round, then getting sent to a Spirit match and die, to destroy another baby, then Spirit, then baby, then Spirit. Been a blast

  • Nah, I got bodyblocked in a small space until EGC ran out earlier, probably latency or the guy was just extremely lucky with fitting perfectly.

  • @Terr0rwrist said:

Good lord, what horrid offense have you committed sir?

    P3'd Jake 😥

  • I really dislike these challenges where you have to rely on your teammates to get it, but at least this one isn't impossible to do in solo queue, but I will just do it with my SWF group since it's more reliable that way.

  • They also changed Billys pink pallet breaking addon, so survivors still go down in one hit, except if they get hit by the chainsaw within 5 seconds after Billy breaking a pallet

  • Honestly wouldn't mind something like that. If the survivor can run the killer around for 1 minute and then escape, it means the survivor was able to outplay the killer for that minute and manage to get to a gate.

It would mean skill is more important than the luck of who finds hatch first and the RNG of if doors are close (killer sided) or far apart (survivor sided). The only downside I can see is survivors 'outplaying' the killer by dropping all pallets early and killers 'outplaying' survivors by bloodlusting at pallets.

I swear, I saw in an old stream, that the devs original EGC idea was that a survivors aura would be revealed to the killer and then the survivor would have to last long enough for the gates to open automatically. Instead they went with this RNG/luck/slug for 4k/DC for free escape mechanic

  • @ClickyClicky said:

They see a genrush game and run to the forums but ignore the games where these same streamers get a 4k before the survivors can barely do anything

    I thought the same thing

Killer kills all survivors with 5 gens left = Skills

Killer loses all 5 gens because survivors played well = pls nerf gens

  • Hitting Rank 1 as killer is slightly harder than survivor. Hitting Rank 1 as survivor just means you've played the game a lot that month. Sure first time it feels like an accomplishment, because of the achievement, but being rank 1 does not indicate skill at all.

Can we please stop with these hypothetical Unicorn Nurses.

its easier to find unicorns then it is to find "Good" Nurses thus the nickname Unicorn Nurses.

Sorry about being so abrasive but these hypothetical/Theoretical "Good" Nurses people talk about I honestly doubt even exist at this point hence my nick name for them Unicorn Nurses.

You should check out Scorpionz on Twitch then. He's a "Unicorn Nurse" manages to get plenty of 4Ks with addon less and only using the perk Shadowborn. Proving she's still strong in the right hands. :)

  • Nurse is fine and still the strongest killer in the game if you're good with her. She requires a lot of practice to master and that's how it should be. The only issue with her atm is how buggy she is, she's had bugs since her rework that still hasn't been fixed.

  • I like the idea, cause I prefer the skillchecks over the struggle. However, don't think it'd change much. Can't stop people if they don't wanna play a match. They'd try to self unhook, then miss every skillcheck and if someone saves them, then they'd just go AFK at the hook. The person running to save them will have wasted precious gen time, so it's just giving killers more pressure in their 3v1 game.

I'd still prefer skillchecks over mashing though

  • BT is weak and needs a buff so it is within a certain radius (32m) rather than terror radius, since stealth killers, Insidious and Freddy can completely ignore the perk and let the killer tunnel.

Also if it was buffed to also give Endurance on yourself, when you get unhooked, it'd be a better and more fair anti tunnel perk than DS

  • I don't have an issue noticing it on anyone but Steve. Because of his pose, the key clips into his body and the only time you can see it is when he moves his hand from his hips to rubbing his neck and back.

  • I prefer Discordance to know which generators are being worked on. Whisper is great for finding the first survivor, though Discordance does that too since 2 survivors tend to spawn together, and finding out which gate the last survivor is working on during EGC.

  • Only thing I'd change about Hag is remove trapping around hook/in basement. That's the only thing that frustrating/unfun about her, otherwise she's fine.

  • Devs have said they will not be adding a 2v8 mode. They don't wanna spend time trying to balance two modes, when they already are spending a lot of time trying to balance 1v4.

Besides imagine combos like Doc and Legion (being unable to mend until you Snap Out of It) and Spirit and Plague (either remain sick and be heard by Spirit all the time or cleanse and give Plague her power). Those are just 2 examples of ridiculous broken pairs I could think of within minutes.

  • I was using fast healing build (self care, botany, streetwise and resilience + green medkit, green charge addon and green faster healing addon), went against Tru3 GF (the one that'll hit you with Sloppy Butcher then sneak up on you with Nurses and his power).

I had gotten hid and was healing inside Coal Tower, saw him sneaking towards me through the window. So I ran to a pallet and got myself to 95%, then looped a single time, threw down the pallet and finished the heal. I got tunneled for the rest of the match, but still escaped.

In post game chat he said he hoped I'd have fun being banned and I ask "Banned for what?". He then says I'm getting banned for 1 second healing against Sloppy Butcher and seeing him through walls. I then say he should look at my build and see I ran a fast heals build, I saw him through a window and that he saw me healing with Nurses, which means he should know I had already been healing for a while. Final message was "Sure ;) Enjoy your ban."

  • Last two tomes, I've seen that I tend to be around lvl 55-60 after finishing all challenges, which leaves me having to play A LOT to get those last 10-15 levels, making me feel stressed and like I barely make any progress. Last time I ended up buying the final 4 tiers cause I felt really burned out, but still felt obligated to finish it.

Itd be neat if they added like a 5th tome, for people that's done all challenges, with just hard/grindy 5 challenges, each granting 10 fragments or just an easier way to get fragments after finishing all challenges.

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 18
