curious to see if they listened to our feedback and adjusted the milestones for this new rift…

II Don't know, but when I logged in, there wasn't even a Milestone section in the quests. Just DbD Day, Weekly and Daily. Hopefully it's a bug, or they heard us complain about Milestones and just removed them lmao

  • Like I wrote in another thread, they seem to be going to Fortnite route. Focus on about 6 characters and give them 2 variations in the main pass and then more recolors in the extra battlepass.

Its really sad to see DbD lose their uniqueness, with the way the handled the rift, by copying what Fortnite is doing. The rift feels so empty and lackluster withoit the recolors for old outfits.

  • They are really going the Fortnite way by having like 6 characters and giving them 2 versions of the same outfit in the Battlepass and then a ton more in the "bonus Battlepass."

Making me sad to see how much DbD is losing their identity, changing everything they did uniquely by changinf to what Fortnite is doing.

  • So you're telling me the new meta is going to be Scourge Hook, Ruin and Undying..? Not looking forward to playing survivor

  • I'm still sad that they placed the pizzeria in the middle of the woods, not even a parking lot in front of the building. It's so dumb, they even have the assets because it's the exact same realm as the Theater map, and that one has a parking lot.

All they needed was to add a parking lot in front and the map would look so much better.

  • Missed opportunity to ask what peoples opinion were on the recent changes to Legion. It literally did nothing, and they're still a menace to play against.

  • @I_CAME said:

Far worse to go against than Legion tbh. Oni is the one killer in 2v8 who is actually OP. The worst part is that you know Behavior will completely ignore all of the valid feedback about him in 2v8. Then it'll be just as awful to play against him in the next version.

Maybe they'll go the Legion way and give him some miniscule nerfs.

"Yes, we have listened to your feedback of Oni in 2v8 and we have prepared some nerfs for him.

Instead of being able to flick 360°, he can now only flick 355°. His blood fury speed has been reduced by 0.1 and his turn rate has been reduced by 5%.

As compensation, he now needs 40% less blood to fill his meter. We are sure this will make The Oni a more enjoyable killer to play against."

  • So it's not just me? I turn Mute Focus on, then when I close my game and open it agsin, its suddenly off again. Has been like that since TWD and it's really annoying. No other setting changes itself after closing the game, except that one.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

Hey folks! I apologize for not replying on this thread sooner, but I wanted to step in here to let you know that your feedback in this thread isn't going un-seen. It's being shared with the team and, of course, I'll keep an eye out for any more feedback that crops up in this thread so I can make sure it's brought to them as well.

As the person who made the thread, I am glad to finally hear from you! I appreciate you taking the time to read and share the feedback.

While I do think the numbers were a bit low last rift, I think it's too mucj this time around. Also the rewards kinda.. suck.. I really liked how the rift fragments would scale with what Milestone yoj had reached. It made it feel more rewarding. That actually engaged me and made me feel like playing.

Now it's grindier and gives less rewards, the numbers become so high and makes me feel less inclined to play. My suggestion, if yoh guys felt like people completed them too fast; increase the grind a bit, but keep the rewards as they were last rift. Don't alienate your casual audience, who can't grind hours to get 1.5000 hooks (also hurts newer plays who may struggle getting hooks in the first place).

    Make it reasonable.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

I totally hear the frustration here and know I personally can't change how these nerfs feel for you, but I do want to make sure the feedback I'm bringing back to the team is as specific as possible and as representative of your experiences in the game as possible. With that, it makes it easier to advocate for changes.

If you don't mind me pulling this back a step to dig into the details, I'd like to ask two specific questions:

    1. Of the two recent nerfs to Fog Vials (reduced opacity; max 2 charges), do you feel that one of these in particular pushed the item from feeling viable to feeling like it's not worth using? If so, which was it?
    2. If you could make one specific change to Fog Vials that'd push them towards being an item you'd enjoy using, what would it be?

I hear the more general feedback (and rest assured, it's being collected and shared with the team), but if there are specific facets of the recent nerfs that felt most impactful, I want to make sure I'm giving them my particular attention. That, and things that could make Fog Vials feel better for you (like the great suggestions of increasing the total charges a little more).

I guess a lot of us are just disappointed with how fast you guys reacted to the negative feedback upon release. What happened to giving new things time to settle before adjusting them?

You guys were planning on nerfing them for the first hotfix, which I think is insane. Its such a knee Jerk reaction. Once the hype for them died down, then look for feedback, because of course people are gonna complain about the new thing. They havent had time to figure out how tobplay against it.

You know the Iridescent add on? Gives 5% opacity and its drawbacks are like 25% smaller size and 50% less duration. Why would such a small buff need two giant downsides? Especially with how bad fog opacity is right now.

    To answer your question:

I think unlimited uses was a good spot for the item, then equalize the fog opacity on every map. Then give the playerbase some time to try it before adjusting.

It's like they forgot that the Rift is supposed to be completed by their players.

More like they forgot it was supposed to be completed by their average player. Milestones probably got more grindy because their hardcore fambase with no jobs and no other games, complained that they finished all milestones in a couple of weeks.

  • @En3ermost said:

We will not stop necro this thread until we get an official statement.

Sadly with everything going in, Bhvr seems to be going through their villain arc. I doubt we'll be hearing anything from them. Their solution to issues recently seem to just be ignoring them.

  • It's insanely low, but this Thread has been relevant for a week now and they still have no given any kind of comment. So it looks like this is how it is. They don't care about casuals. :/
Was giving hope maybe they would communicate more after the whole Killswitch situation. Now's where they gotta try to get back in the communitys good graces.

  • @Kev19915 said:

I know there was no mention of it in the patch notes, but any changes on milestones quest in the latest patch? I have been leaving comments on twitter but they have yet to respond.

Nope! No changes. But I'm not surprised with how much the devs have been ignoring this thread. They've made it very clear they don't respect their players time. :)

  • Also the Visceral add on is sp awful now. 5% opacity for decreased 50% duration and 25% smaller size??? There's no way that add on should have kept any drawbacks now that Fog Vials are nerfed into the ground

Are they subject to change? Of course they are, hence my use of the phrase "educated guess". They are certainly not "wild assumptions," even if they are not fully discovered yet. The formulas are based on and very similar to the previous Rift. If anyone wants to share the "Hook" and "Sacrifice" level 3 or any higher levels to confirm formulas, that would be great. As far as the other five I have at level 3, the new formulas still hold accurate.

So far you are correct. I am step 4 of damage gens, which is 250. Step 3 of Hook Survivors is 300 and step 3 of Sacrifice is 60. Played many hours and barely feel like I'm progressing. :/
Idk about the survivor challenges, since I haven't played many survivor games.

  • @SkeletonDance said:

Why did they increased it? It was good in previous rift. Imo they should have just futher decreased the numbers instead of increasing it massively.

I heard some players last Rift say it was too easy to grind and they finished it in a couple of weeks. I assume they increase the grind to please them.. or they wanted to increase the grind to get players to play more.

Sadly, this thread has been on the front page for a couple days now and devs have completely ignored it, so I doubt we'll hear anything from them.

The only thing in the Rift that I want is the community design Unknown outfit, the detective one.

Everything else in the Rift is just lame. Even the recolors of existing cosmetics. Who thought gluing bones on everyone was a good idea?

Yeah, I agree. It's probably the least hype rift in a long time. Personally I am not a big fan of "everyone has the same theme" thing. I liked when the rift gave everyone outfits that showed off some of their lore.

    @ThanksForDaily said:

They really need to tone down the milestones, it's ridiculous.

I played killer for about 2 hours yesterday and I didn't even get to complete part 3 of the hook survivor ones. It really feels awfully slow

  • It has done the completely opposite for me. I don't feel like its worth to grind such big numbers, for so littke rewards. So I haven't even played DbD since the day I made this thread. :/

Forgot to Quote the post but it was a response to @Caiman

  • @En3ermost said:

@ThatRyanB Can we please get an official statement about the current quest system? Or maybe just a confirmation our complaints about it have been seen and reported to the dev team? Thank you.

It does worry my a bit that this thread is being ignored, despite being fairly active for 2 days now

  • @PleaseRewind said:

Damn. I've been meaning to write a post praising BHVR for the new quests system. Glad I didn't. I was someone who wasn't a fan when it was announced and didn't like it at all. Though I came to like it. I liked there was always a quest for me to do. I wasn't able to get all the milestones done (escape and sacrifice) and some of the quests in the later weeks. Considering this I was glad I didn't have to do all my daily quests to still get the rift complete. As someone who always purchases the premium rift I will be reconsidering this time around. I'm not paying for a rift that I might not be able to complete without grinding away like crazy.

What a kick in the guts.

II Really liked the new quest system, except the quests were boring ans uninspired compared to the old one. However, milestones made progress feet fast in the beginning, so it felt like I was actually levelling up at a decent pace. Then when I finished all Milestones and hit around lvl 60 in a couple of weeks, things slowed down, but it was okay cus I knew events and weeklies would be released.

Right now, it just feels so sluggish because Milestones take forever to finish and the rewards are just not worth it at tge moment.

  • It's so jarring, they sound nothing like the actors and their screams are God awful. One moment you have them with one voice, another moment a new one. It's super jarring. No hate to the VAs, but the devs could've at least have gone for sound-a-likes, but it feels like they just hired some random people from the street.

Also, I am pretty sure in one of Michonnes scream, you can hear the voice director talking.

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

Milestones got nerfed extremely hard both in terms of rift fragments but also in how grind heavy they are. At the same time, daily challenges got "buffed" from 3 to 4 per day and each one rewards more fragments. This looks like a calculated move to introduce more fomo into the rift and "encourage" players to log in daily. Maybe I'm wrong but that's the impression I'm getting from those changes.

Milestone quests give 17.5 tiers total instead of 38.5 tiers total. This while also being more grindy! It was the most reliable way to level up the pass. When they came out they were incredible to make you feel like you progressed fast. Now it's such a slug to get through.

You're probably right they buffed dailies to add fomo. I hope a devs can give some kind of insight into their thought process. Did people complete the rift too fast last season? Or why did you feel the need to nerf them?

  • Welcome to the club.. survivors have been waiting for new classes since the first iteration…

In all seriousness though, I am glad they're trying to address issues like Guide being boring, Escapist being more fun in their earlier iteration, Legion balancing and of course killer queues. I'm glad whenever they take time to fix old stuff instead of keep adding new things, ignoring issues.

  • @En3ermost said:

Why aren't more people talking about this? These quests are beyond ridiculous

Probably because these are undocumented changes, so people don't realize. Though this is just insane

  • @SpringMyTrap said:

yes, they nerfed them roughly by 55%

people complained really hard about the new system being predatory and BHVR didnt fail to prove them wrong by making it twice as bad

It's really sad. :/ I suppose doing all your dailies now grand you a full level, but still. Making them grindier and giving less rewards kinda sucks. At last at the third stage, it's still only 25 rift fragments. So instead of getting 5 levels per full milestone, now it's only 2.5. :/

  • @SoGo said:

It should be a bit bigger, especially the upper part.

It's a neat idea on paper, but it has severe flaws.

It'd probably be the first maps they've made bigger, if I recall correctly. Every other map rework has been about shrinking the maps. It'd be interesting to see how much bigger they'd make it.

  • Agreed. It's sad we went from tomes where we had challenges that would grant us 50k and more, depends on if it was normal or Master quests, to all quests only granting is 10k.

It's the only thing I dislike about the new Quest system, but also how boring some quests are. We are into the very first Rift and they are already reusing challenges (blind killer while it's carrying a survivor). I know they wanna avoid character specific challenges, but I really wish they'd make Master challenges again.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yeah, I have no idea why there is no Abandon-Feature. If the Killer wants to waste time for a game they already won, at least the person on the ground should not have to deal with that.

I don't know if the abandon feature would be enough though. Then you have a bot that's designed to crawl towards their alive teammate and will sell them out. Even if they patch that, the survivor not downed still has to wait 4 minutes because of the killers ego, creating a boring scenario for both.

Personally I think either hatch shoulder open when 2 are left and a survivor is slugged. If killer finds hatch they all go into EGC, if survivor finds hatch, the slugged get auto sacrificed or sth. Then the killer can go for the guaranteed 3k or risk going into EGC with 2 survivors.

Otherwise, the downed survivor should have the option to kill themselves after a minute or something, still giving the killer some time to search for the 4th, but not 4 minutes.

  • My problem with Chaos Shuffle was never the slugging, it was the free tunneling, because the odds of DS/OTR are so small. Feels like they focused on the wrong thing here.

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3946976#Comment_3946976

Too many thing at once, yeah. They could of done a stage approach. Just removing self unhook won't disincentivise runing to the killer or going afk.

False positives will always occur in a detection system like this. There are legit outcomes that look like go next. While not possible, maybe they should have an individule probability score for all players. If they do a go next like action the score increases. At a threshold the probabilty that player is trying to go next becomes more accurate.

The problem with this system is that it'll either be too strict and end up like it is now, or it'll be so loose that it won't do anything. I can't really see how they can balance it as long as camping/tunneling/new players exist. New killers will make dumb mistake that can get them killed. Meanwhile tunneling out a survivor super fast is definitely possible within the first couple minutes of the game.

Going AFK/running to the killer/throwing the game are reportable offenses, so I don't see why they can't ignore the system and just let people report the old school way, for these extreme cases. Maybe use that as motivation to improve their reporting system.

  • The removal of self unhook was enough. The system is super unnecessary and will most likely always end up punishing innocent players.

Just add Kobe back to endgame, where it doesn't matter if someone wants to die, and then keep it as it is, without the punishment system. Then i think it'll be close to perfect.

  • @LockerLurk said:

I'm fine with simple tasks, I would just much rather see also some quests that encourage playing in different ways on top of that.

I also want all the quests unlocked at once. Having to wait to unlock more feels like hot ass in this system because there's not enough, five is not enough. At least give us 10-15 to chew through, BHVR!

5 tasks is definitely too little, especially when one of them is to complete 3 tasks, so you only really get 4. Extremely boring and usually gets completed in 2-3 games. While I'm happy I can progress all at the same time, I miss having a big selection of challenges

  • I have not played much killer due to 2v8 queue times and how it affect normal queues too, so yeah mostly survivor with only the weekly killers quests completed and like 4 killer milestones

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3936114#Comment_3936114

Im very curious how far in the rift that got you?

See I hate this new system because I fear it requires more play DAYS when before it was about play TIME.

Doing all survivor Quests, milestones and a few killer has gotten me to lvl 55. :)

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

Great, I had a feeling it was that. LOL! so you mean to tell me you're not even guaranteed the 5?

I thought maybe that tiny patch changed it to 15 since 5 is so slow its meaningless. 15 would still be slower than before but a heck of a lot better than it is now.

Currently I am suffering from a bug, where I don't get any game time fragments, due to having completed all Survivor quests and milestone quests, so I can't see if they're now giving more. But if you get more, it's most likely due to the double XP event impacting rift fragments gain.

But yeah, you're not guaranteed 5 fragments. You get 500xp once you reach about 10 minutes into a match. If you die before that, then you get less.

  • 100xp equals to 1 rift fragments. You get about 500xp for a full match, so you get 5 fragments per match.

Since double exp is on, you should earn about 1000xp per match, so 10 rift fragments. If you get less, you probably died/game ended so fast, do you didn't get the full amount.

Though I do agree only getting 5 is not acceptable, because when you have no more challenges, your progressions slows a lot.

  • I really hope they go back and give us our missing Rift Shards.. I'm probably missing out on like 10 levels, because I played a lot of 2v8

  • I've been able to claim them, but don't get them on my account. Even after restarting my game a few times.

  • @Abbzy said:

I liked the resident evil 2v8 more, devs gave you as survivor 400% bp bonus plus they gave everyone double exp which means more shards.

Yeah, that's why I am surprised after those 3 different tests they did during the RE 2v8, that they for some reason, just threw all of that out of the window and made the Bonus dynamic again

  • Legion in 2v8 was just a mistake, he's too strong of a support for stronger killers like Spirit, Nurse, Oni and Blight.

I'd love to see him removed or given heavy nerfs. In my 53 games of 2v8 he's been in 39. My last 10 games have all had a Legion in them. It's really ruining my hype for the mode.

  • @BillsWrinklyballs said:

Killers have new toys to play with? Killers have been the same for 4 iterations bruh.

By new toys I mean killers. Every iteration killers have gotten 2-3 new ones to play with, while survivors have recieved 0 new classes. :)

  • @Zensunim said:

I wish BHVR would confirm if rift fragments only being earned through quests is a bug or not.

    The DBD Wiki says:

    • Rework: completely reworked The Archives and all associated mechanics:
      • Increased the amount of Rift Fragments received for 500 XP from 1 RF to 5 RF (factor of 5).
        • However, since this Patch also increased the RF-requirement for a Rift Tier from 10 RF to 100 RF (factor of 10), this effectively halves the amount of Rift Fragments gained from playtime.

But the reality of 8.7.0 is that you get 0 from matches right now.

You definitely do. I've had games where I complated 0 Quests, but got 5 Rift Fragments. However, considering you need 100 to level up, you need to play 20 games to gain a single rift tier.

Compare this with how you got 1 fragment per match last patch, and only needed 10. Passive fragments tiers have basically been doubled

  • @LilythGeist said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3922480#Comment_3922480

Best I can tell, in ye olde system you needed 10 ticks per rift point. Now each tick is effectively a separate point. So you still need a hundred ticks per rift pass level.

I just had a match without any challenges done and went from 60/100 to 65/100

Yeah, I also only get 5 rift fragments per game. So we just gotta play like 20 full games for a level? That's a lot compared to 10 previously.

  • @ChurchofPig said:

Nope the XP thing appears to be gone, which means challenges are now more important to get done. On the plus side, every challenge grants rift fragments now.

While I love the new challenge system and how it works, that's gonna suck hard. I liked being able to passively gain levels from playing normally. Now if I don't have challenges left.. idk if I feel inclined to play, if it doesn't help me progress the rift

  • @ThatRyanB said:

Jumping back in here to thank everyone who's provided their thoughts so far, both from the Survivor and Killer POV! We're continuing to note down your feedback including the specifics, so rest assured, they are being read.

Just to set expectations.. the overall feedback on bots are negative, they aren't helping queue times, survivors dislike having them on their team, killers think it's boring to face them.

Are there any chance that you guys are considering turning them off for the rest of the event? Or are you steadfast on keeping them until at least next iteration?

  • @sanees said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/438364/legion-and-bots-are-ruining-2v8

Legion broken!? it's literally an m1 killer if you just drop the pallet

I don't think Legion by themselves is the problem, but the combo they have with killers. Legion can injure many people with their power, making it a game of Mending. Afterwards survivors have 2 choices, waste time healing cus Legion can injure you without issue again or do gens while injured, making you very vulnerable against killers like Wraith, Nurse, Blight and killers with the 0 terro radius class. This leading to a gameplay of healing + mending or having 0 interacting with the killers because some have insane chase and others have stealth.

I really hoped that the devs were smart enough to know that Legion and Plague would be an issue for 2v8 due to their 'always injured' powers

  • @ThatRyanB said:

Hey there folks. Popping in here to let you know that our Community Team is treating collecting and sharing feedback with the team as our top priority today. While I'm seeing general comments about how folks feel about bots in here (which we are also sharing with the team), I'd also love to dig into the specifics of how you're feeling, as these can often be the most useful feedback points.

If there are specific instances of bots doing things that you've liked or have found disruptive in 2v8, I'd love to hear them.

The biggest issue with bots are that survivors are dodging them, because going into a game with 2 bots puts your in a huge disadvantage. So this dodging time not only make queues worse for killer, but also survivors.
Second biggest issue with bots is how scared they are, they leave a gen almost as soon as they hear a heartbeat (which happens frequently with two killers on the map). One game of survivor I had bot Yun Jin, run corner map and not touch a generator all game. The killers ignored her, because they knew she wasn't helping.
Third problem is they don't last very long in chase, their pathing to edge of the map or triple vaulting a window, makes it easy to cheese them into dying fast.
There are probably more issues, but those are my top 3. They are so bad, they basically make the game a 2v6. Making it boring and easy to play killer, while frustrating to play survivor.

  • Not really a dev, so not my job to come ideas but:
Go back to the 400% bonus for survivor
Add more survivor classes each iteration along with killer (survivor has changed very little since first iteration)
I know it's a disliked idea, but priority pass to play killer, if you also play survivor.

Remove bots, because going in with a huge disadventage is not gonna help

Small incentives by themselves are not gonna make people wanna play survivor, but having multiple running at the same time might help. The biggest novelty for 2v8 is to play killer with a friend, so it's tough, but especially for this iteration of 2v8, the devs didn't even try to give survivors incentive to play.

  • @mecca said:

I predicted that. You don't give killers all the new content and survivors a middle finger with bots and expect them to play miserable matches. It's another get the heads out of the sand situation.

Yeah, I don't really understand what they were thinking.. gamemode is already lacking survivors, so instead of catering to them and giving them more classes to choose from… they chose to give 3 new killers for the killer players and nothing for survivor?
Like it's so easy. Make a boon role or something to do with totems to give them some use

‹ 1 2 3 … 18
