  • I really wish they would've gone a different route.. like making survivor more interesting? Ultimates were a good start. However, of course killer is going to get more attention, when they get 3 new killers to play with each iteration, while survivor still only has 4 classes. It's like they need to cater to survivors to get more people to play 2v8 survivor, but still only focus on killers.

Not saying it's an easy job, because I don't know how to make survivor 2v8 more interesting for survivor.. but giving survivors more classes would be a start.

  • Im a little saddened there was no randomizing of add ons or just completely removing them. People will bring in strong stuff and remove the purpose of a randomizer gamemode.

Also wish they would've made Endurance and Haste timers longer after a unhook, like with Lights Out, considering how easy it is to tunnel survivors. The odds of getting an anti tunnel perk is so small, so it's something killers have already taken advantage of. :/

  • For me it's 150% in both 2v8 and 1v4.. which is stupid, because I used 2v8 to get fast and easy bloodpoints, but now I can play 1v4 and use offerings with my friends and get more.
It's a shame they fumbled the bp incentive this time around.. I really loved the perma 400% during the first iteration.

    • I think this post is ironic, but going against Huntress in every game is starting to get boring

For real, played for about 2 hours today. Only 3 games didn't have a Huntress in it. Wraith with his bugged uncloak were also in all but 5 games.

I love 2v8, but getting real tired of almost always going against those 2. Had one game that was Blight and Billy combo and it felt so fun and refreshing.

What are the devs to do? Create countermeasures for every possible grief?

Yeah.. I know it's hard to create solutions for every kind of grief, but they already have the solution for this in the main game. Had it happen to different survivors in 3 different games now and it's fully up to the killer if they wanna stop it or not, while survivors can't do anything

  • @ImWinston said:

    • I'm 100% sure that in the last 2VS8 in some cages there was a bug that didn't allow the survivor to save... before you say it was a troll, are you sure it wasn't a bug? Maybe the survivor in front of you was also buggy?

I don't see why anyone would stand in front of a cage, teabag, point and wave at me from when I get hooked till I die after 2 minutes. Didn't let the other survivors that game try to save me, despite showing multiple times she was able to move around. Biggest giveaway, after I died she did it to another survivor. Killers ignored her, just nodding at her while she nodded back at them.

I’m sorry that happened to you. If it ever happens again, try to record some footage (make it as long as possible) and then report the person. Get a support ticket and provide the video, as body blocking like that is reportable. Again, so sorry that happened to you :/

They were anon mode anyway, so I just left a report. I suspect they were working with a hacking Nicolas Cage, who were also anon. But yeah, I've got OBS running in the background now, in case it happens again

  • @LilKijin said:

Just finished a game and looks like they've fixed the bug. Was able to get progress.

Seems random. Some games I get a few skillchecks and then others I don't. One of my friends could get them just fine, the rest of us couldn't.

  • I love the idea behind the gamemode, but every game the killer has just tunneled the first person, because the chance of DS and other anti-tunneling perks is so low. Played 7 games and only 1 of them did the killer actually try not to tunnel.

In the end, I wish it was just a feature you could do for the normal game.

  • @ChaosWam said:

Honestly the solution to 3 gen is better map design and placements while keeping map size in mind, but that would take a lot of resources for BHVR so we'll most likely get a penalty on killer side for holding them. Hopefully it doesn't do anything against killers who don't hold them all game and survivors rushing into one.

I think they touched gen spawning logic when touching the map. 5 generators spawned on that side, one spawned in main building and one spawned on the side of the main building, near the God window.

Other than the 3 seen in the pic, the fourth one spawned outside of shack opening and then the fifth spawned at the car and pallet loop next to the jungle gym. So 5 gens on one side and 2 on the other. She had like 3 different 3 gens she could've chosen to protect

  • @CorvusCorax86 said:

These things should be noticed at the beginning. The team can make one or two gens disappear while the killer is elsewhere chasing survivors. But it is very strange... especially those 2 on the right are very close to one another.

It was noticed from the beginning with my Deja Vu, the issue is that she noticed it too. She did nothing but chase people away, maybe hit them with sloppy, then kick the gen 5% with Overcharge, which my solo queue teammates kept missing, so she kept getting a free 15% regression from every kick. She never left the area because she knew she didn't need to, she could bore us into giving up instead.

  • Came directly from F13: The Game to DbD in 2017 and thought pallets were equal to locking cabin doors. I thought pallets had to be dropped at the start of the game as a 'setup', so killers couldn't go there and had to waste time destroying them. After a couple of games of being called a troll and working with the killer, I learned to only drop pallets during the chase.

  • DbD is just in a meh state at the moment. Most killer runs Corrupt, Pain Res and Pop, most survivors run MfT, Hope and DH. The last 4 killers have been underwhelming, either focusing on area protection or making pallets useless.

Alien DLC looks visually stunning, but Xeno is awful to go against and I personally find her boring to play as. Ripley came with no interesting survivor perks.

Sitting on gens for 90 seconds (plus the million times the gens get either Pop'd or Pain Res'd) is boring. Atm I'm playing Texas Chain Saw, it's way more action packed and the lock unlocking minigame is way more engaging and satisfying than holding M1.

I kinda missed DbD the other day and my first game was a Clown with Knock Out, Sloppy Butcher, Coulrophobia and Nurse's Calling on Dead Dawg, whose goal was to bleed people out on the ground for 4 minutes. The second was basement camping Trapper, third was Chess Merchant. Safe to say I went back to TCM and prolonged my break until the midchapter.

  • Tried this one earlier today, 4 games and didn't get a single one. Then one game everything goes amazingly, but my altruism costs me the first emblem. I bodyblocked for someone that was getting tunneled in endgame and went down. Wanted to do this one first since I'm doing the "Save bloodpoints in tome" thing and that's the first survivor challenge to do.

Switched to the killer challenge with Malicious and got it in just 3 games lmao.

  • I don't think they enjoy doing it, because then they could go into a Custom Game and do it against bots. They are doing it because they like knowing they're making the game miserable for other people. They like the power trip they get from knowing they're wasting everyone's time, making them frustrated and miserable and knowing there's nothing the average survivor team can do.

Sadly there are just people like that in the world.

  • The invites are quite weird. They do stack, but not during the game. They work like double BP offerings, where the event gen score will be added during endgame. So if all 5 used an offering and you finish one gen, instead of 3k points you'd get 15k in the endgame tally. I didn't realize this until yesterday either.

Even then, survivors should just always get the points. There have been so many times where I've worked on a gen and missed out in the points because I get chased away and another surv swoops in and finishes the gen. Many games where I run the killer for multiple gens and I don't get a single event point for that. If I get camped or tunneled, then too bad, no points for me either. Running Escape Cake/Terrormisu is a safer way for me to get more BP.

During the Anniversary event I could semi understand it, the offering also gave everyone double bloodpoints. This time around there really is no excuse why the points aren't global. It turns the game into a competition between survivors and they hard focus on gens and leave survivors on hooks longer than they should be etc.

Hopefully the devs will be willing to fix this.. or at least keep the feedback for next event. Survivors already compete against each other for bloodpoints during normal gameplay. Please just let us work together and enjoy events without the stress of outperforming each other.

No one at all is noticing it, it literally says -stacks in the bbq invite but they aren’t stacking with other invites people put down, it’s the same bp every game

I thought the same thing, but it gives you the extra bloodpoints during the endgame tally. It's just not very clear, because I assume most people skip that part. Had a game where everyone used BBQ offering, I only did 1 gen and got 15k.

I just want them to be more concise in their wording; stacking clearly means bonus stacks but if that’s not the case why are they implying it?

After using a bit more, I finally realized that stacking means you get more during endgame screen. I didn't realize that since I usually skip over the the bloodpoint score to get to the final screen. It doesn't show up when you finish a generator, that's just the usual 3k. So the event points aren't as bad as I originally thought.

However, the points should still be global.

  • @DavidHypnos said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502778#Comment_3502778

But that isn’t stacking…? If you already get a bonus for just repairing/hooking and the offering gives a bonus on top of that it’s exactly that: a bonus… in order for the offering go stack it would have to do so with other offering bonuses.

Idk, maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't noticed them stacking. I stopped using the offering and so it seems others did too, cus I haven't seen nor used any for 5 games now.

  • The original event gave ALL survivors 4.5k bloodpoints whenever a generator got completed. This one you only get 3k IF you complete a generator. In the best case scenario, you finish all 5 generators and get 15k. Most likely you're gonna get 3-6k. Even in the best case scenario, 15k isn't much. I average of about 20k per survivor game, so I might as well stick to terrormisus and escape cakes.

Been looking forward to this event, because I loved the original back in 2018. This one is kind of a let down, the event tome is a nice addition, but I hate the fact I gotta stress about gens and compete with my teammates to get the event bloodpoints. If you get chased all game, camped or tunneled and brought the offering, then you're just outta luck, no points for you. 😥

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I feel like they've done that before but for whatever reason reverted back to the player needing to finish the gen for it to "count".

No idea why it was changed (unless I just made it up, which is certainly possible but I swear the Halloween Event has it give it to you when gens were done period, not requiring you to do it).

Just to add to this, found this tweet about the OG BBQ event that showed, that not only did everyone get BP, but they got 4.5k instead of 3k.

    https://twitter.com/PillsStealer/status/1687133174323638272/photo/1

  • Without using an offering you get 1500(as survivor) by default when finishing a generator. If you use the offering, it doubles up to 3k when you finish a gen, it's personal and does not affect others. So best case scenario is that you finish all generators by yourself and get 15k. What's likely gonna happen is you finish 1 or 2 gens and get 3-6k event bloodpoints.

  • @rvzrvzrvz said:

Ok I just played one quick game it's really awful, I won't use it then, smartest event design

Yup, after a couple games, I've noticed everyones gone back to Terrormisus/Escape Cake/Survivor Puddings. The event really is just the tome and generators/hooks atm

    @DavidHypnos said:

Do the bbq invitations extend their bonus to all players? It says “stacks” but doesn’t say “all players.”

No, if you don't use one then you only get 1500 for finishing a gen (haven't tried killer yet, but I assume 750, like anniversary). The bonus is personal.

  • @rvzrvzrvz said:

I don't get it if you repair 95% of a gen and someone else finish the 5% you get nothing ?

Yep, if you're not on the generator as it finishes, you get nothing. Doesn't matter how much you did

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Yeah, it didn't used to be like this. I don't know why they changed it, but with last event I was hoping it was a one time thing, since you could get points through using the invitations.

In my last 3 survivor games I've gotten between 0 to 3k points, because I either get chased the whole game or pushed off my generator, only to have someone else finish it. I don't get points enough to justify bringing it over cakes and terrormisus. It's sad that survivors have to compete to get their event points instead of working together.

Holy moly that's bad. Also for future tests you could bring Zanshin Tactics and only 2 bots. 2 bots with 3 gens gives you the most time in the map (unless also checking gen placements).

Ah yeah, I was also checking gen placements to see how many would spawn in the deadzone. Most of the time 3, so it's important to get one of them done early on. I totally forgot about Zanshin, thanks!

  • I did try to talk about it and bring it up in my own thread a couple days ago. I didn't catch too much traction. However, I had a game where only 2 pallets and harvester spawned on the opposite side of shack on Rancid. Went into a Custom Game with bots to see if I jus had bad luck or if it was an actual issue. Out of 5 tests, the map only spawned 2-3 pallets on that side of the map and the rest being a huge dead zone.

This was probably the worst one. 1 pallet in the corner, harvester and a unsafe pallets in the middle and the rest was just deadzone. Idk why they changed Rancid, it felt like the most balanced of the corn maps to me.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

I still don’t understand why they bothered touching rancid

I personally always thought cowshed was the only unbalanced one

Yeah, touching Rancid is weird. It's was one of the smaller maps and it had a decent density of pallet for it's size and a main building that was decently strong, but not unfair. It was a great map for both roles IMO.

I thought if another map was gonna get touched alongside Cowshed, it would be Rotten Fields, due to its giant size (7th biggest map) and lack of main building. Plus it has the same issue as Cowshed with all gyms and pallets being along the edge of the map, so it's easy to chain tiles together, and then there's a completely empty middle (except shack ofc).

  • @Sharby said:

Well I mean what did we expect? In order to make maps more fair for killers they have to be made worse.

That being said I loved the Azarov rework but this Coldwind one is terrible.

I would understand just removing a jungle gym from each side (the map used to have 2 on each side + one in the middle), but at least put up some smaller filler ones or windows. Like if against Huntress/Trickster/Bubba/Billy and other killers with instadown or attacks with small cooldown, survivors don't stand a chance on a side of map with literally nothing. They could've also made the maps smaller and more compacts instead of big with huge deadzones.

Azarov was a rework done right, Coldwind feels like they weren't sure what to do

  • I can see 3 possible solutions for 3 genning. These are just my initial ideas and could be unbalanced

    1. Move progress to another gen.

Once 1 gen is left and if the game has gone on for x amount of time and survivors have done combined 1 total generators out of the last 3, the entity switches the progress between one the last 3 generators and one that's been finished.

This way survivors still gotta work for it and can't just hide until the generators switch.

    2. Regression cap

When there's 1 gen left, a regression cap activates. Once a gen reaches 25, 50 and 75% completion, a normal kick and missed skillchecks can't regress further than that. (Imo) Ruin, Pop, Pain Res etc can still beat the regression cap

    3. Pre endgame collapse

Once the match has gone on for 25 minutes (cus no match should be longer than 30 min), a pre endgame collapse should begin. A timer will begin to count down till the gates get automatically powered. Could be a timer of 1 to 2 minutes, the auras of all survivors will be revealed to the killer during this countdown (to avoid survivors getting free escapes from just hiding), the aura of survivors disappear once in chase and comes back once out of chase. Killers break pallets faster and recover from stuns faster. Once the gamer runs out, gates become automatically powered and the game continues as normal.

So survivors can't just hide the timer out, but that timer becomes a test of skill and killers get a temporary buff.

Just some random ideas, so survivors can get themselves out of 3 gen scenarios, but still have to work for it.

  • @Phyrqc said:

It's very mind blowing indeed. I wonder if they'll explain to us why they've been ignoring his addons (except for that time where they overbuffed Adren Vial out of nowhere, of course) for 3+ years once they finally nerf them (assuming that ever happens).

Would be nice if they just gave any words on Blight, if they're working on him, if they think he's fine... just anything. Not even give details but something like "We are aware that Blight have some overperforming add ons and we're looking into it"

If they just were a bit more transparent.

  • @nars said:

Im sure their working on him. I was surprised too, but then I thought "they have to be aware that his addons are like the one thing left to obliterate in this game. Their probably making sure they are all still viable since everyone and their mother plays blight". figured they'd be more rigorous since people actually care about him.

I really hope so. With each patch, the game gets more and more balanced, but as the game gets more balanced, Blight just keeps growing in power.

  • It's hard to say, I don't have many things I can imagine being changed. Mostly just killer add on nerfs.

Blight - Nerfs to speed, Alc Ring, his two pinks and Adrenaline Vial

Spirit - Mother Daughter ring nerfs

Wesker - When unhooked your infection meter won't increase while in a chase or something to lessen his tunnel potential

Skull Merchant - Hopefully some nerfs to lessen her 3 gen potential. At least as a bandaid fix until they come up with a way to solve 3 genning

A couple perk buffs and nerfs for both sides (Mostly looking at Made for This)

And finally the changes they spoke about for Cowshed and Rancid

  • Pig buffs, Nurse nerfs (originally Blight, but imo he just need add on nerfs) and Skull Merchant rework

  • Survivors have had to deal with almost a year full of 3 genning and games lasting way longer than they should because killers would rather bore them to give up than chase them. The perks buff and newfound popularity is just karma hitting those killers in the back of the head. Sadly it also punishes those who played fair, but a 6% difference is only like 5 seconds. Not like it's gonna make a big difference in situations where killers pick a 3-gen from the start(looking at Skull Merchant), but can be used to help prevent accidentally causing a 3-gen situation.

  • Yeah, it's a bit dumb. Failing a skillcheck you lose 10% progression. Last update with the Medkit nerf, they nerfed it so great skillchecks only grant 3% progression instead of 5%. So you'd have to hit 4 greats just to make up for one missed

  • Agreed! Once I finish the rift, I lose most motivation to play DbD cus I have nothing to work towards. Making infinite tiers of some BP would be a great way to keep people interested and reward players who grind.

  • I liked the change, but I want them to change cages to at least give the basekit BT, maybe also immunity from being Tormented for a bit after being unhook/uncaged, before going forward with this change. Just things to not make him even better at camping/tunneling.

  • I hope not. While Power of Two could be decent, it's just a weaker version of Bloodpact, with working on anyone is the only thing it's got going for it.

Bloodpact gives 7% speed, works within 16m, has aura reveal when injured, doesn't have a cooldown and works whether it's you or the obsession being healed.

    vs

Power of Two: 5% speed, works within 12m, also gets deactivated if one gets injured, no aura reveal, has a 140-second cooldown, works on anyone BUT only if you're the one healing them, not if they heal you.

I'd much rather keep Bloodpact than Power of Two, if any of them needs a rework

  • DC Penalty needs to stay, but Depipping needs to go. For survivors so much is out of your control + you kinda compete against you teammates to do certain things (getting into chases/getting saves), so games where killers camps or tunnel, you are punished for no reason. Even at higher grades, if someone is getting camped/tunneled, then you just need to do gens, but that punishes you with a depip/safety pip, because the killer didn't let you do anything else.

Tbh I reported someone for blatent hacking and chat abuse with several Screenshots and a twitch vod for proof and was told that because they weren't on Steam there's no possible way they could've been speaking in endgame chat. It took me three tries of telling them that the evidence is right there in the video and that they are Windows store (and literally finding their profile on my friends Xbox as proof) before they even read beyond the subject line and actually investigated the hacking part at all.

It was a fun experience, that's for certain.

I had a very similar thing happen to me the other day. One guy DC'd and another killed themselves on hook. I ran to the Skull Merchant to kill me and she left me slugged for 4 minutes. While that in itself isn't reportable, she was clearly working with the other survivor. Ignored them on multiple occasions to leave me slugged, watched them do gens, hooked me twice, so the survivor could unhook me for points, and then left me slugged until I had very little health left and then finally hooked and killed me. She then ran around with the other survivor and let them get stun points and such before they found hatch and let her go.

Had them admit in the endgame chat that they were intentionally targeting and harassing me because I was a sore loser for giving up (when 2 others had already quit). Luckily I had recorded most of the gameplay with the two working together and how she targeted me. I sent an ingame report to report the killer with pics of the chat and the video I recorded.

I wait a day and then I just get a mail back saying "slugging isn't a reportable offense." when I made it clear in my ticket name that the report was for 'targeting and working with a survivor'. Clearly, they had never seen the video or looked at my screenshots. They just read the line "slugged for 4 minutes" and assumed it was that.

Man I suck at quoting people I'm replying to

  • Oh yeah, I recorded it all on video. She was really funny, much better than those who hack to win. She hacked until all of our games crashed. Never seen anything like it before, just thought it was funny that we had to do 7 gens

  • Nah, a hacking Nea was in my lobby, she gave us pretty hats :)

  • Legion wasn't nerfed because nobody liked Mend and Moonwalking was abused. Legion was nerfed because survivors had zero counterplay and it made them feel awful to go against. Vault a window? Legion vaults it, drop a pallet? Legion vaults it, try to outrun them? Legion is faster than you.

Sure it was weak and Legion spent a lot of time waiting for their power to recharge to decrease you Mend bar, but it wasn't fun or interactive to go against, because you had no options, because Legion could ignore them.

  • I think the perk should be changed to 2 uses per game (each hook state), still 3 seconds stun and a killer loses all their charges for their power when DS'd. That way it punishes killers like Nurse and Blight more than normal M1 killers.

  • Updates usually happen on Tuesdays

But you maxed out Objective points. Weeee

Tbh, there shouldn´t be a limit per category. So someone who only does one thing, isn´t limited points wise. This would also improve perks and addons that give bonus points. As those max out points to fast.

I do like the idea of 40k still being the max, but categories are uncapped, so someone who's been chased all game or done all the gens, still get a considerable amount of bp

1 2 3 4 … 18
