Legion and Doctor. If you're in Madness 3 you can't Mend yourself. If your mending timer goes down by like 5 seconds then you can't snap out of it fast enough to also mend yourself.
-
I've personally never had it happen to me. I've had killers try to hit me, but hit the fence instead. Michael in Tier 3 has a different/longer lunge than normal killers and his animation shows him hitting downwards, so maybe it has something to do with that?

Nobody will revert him to old broken billy with indinite mobility + oneshots. Billy is old and should be changed for modern dbd state
Exactly this. We all know if Billy was released as a new killer today, he would have some kind of cooldown or drawback on his chainsaw. Billy is an old killer and needed to be updated to fit in with the current state of DbD. PTB Billy got punished too much for using his chainsaw, I'm glad these changes seem to allow him to use it more. Though, I agree that some of his new addons are horribly designed and should definitely be changed.

The devs are known for making controversial changes to their game that no one asked for, getting a big backlash and yet they are sure it's the best thing to do.
Remember the huge backlash when they changed Exhaustion? How their game went from positive reviews on Steam to mixed? Ruin change also gave a backlash, the window vault changes nobody asked for was controversial as well. Nurse basekit changes was probably the newest besides Billy basekit.
All these have been controversial at the time it happened but then people calmed down about it once they got used to it and realised it really isn't that bad (except the few people still complaining about Nurse). I am sure Billy will still be strong, but just toned down and he will still be played frequently. I am glad the devs are bold enough to take controversial decisions at times, though gotta be honest.. less glad to see some of those addons they've made for him.. some of those are just.. yikes... Who would even come up with those? And why did anyone think they were good?

This, I'm a little less supportive of. Don't get me wrong, it's all good intent here, but I think this would actually make it far more frustrating to deal with. I could get unhooked, sprint around for a minute, jump in front of you while you're chasing someone else a minute or two later and you'll still get hit by DS.
I'd much rather have a very clear cut condition, one that I can predict and play around easily. In the case of a 60 second timer, it's pretty easy for me to keep track of when someone's unhooked and when DS is going to wear off. Adding in a "deactivate on _____ actions" condition is also very simple; if I see them do it, I know it's safe. But adding on a timer pausing mechanic on top of that makes it incredibly hard to tell if they still have it or not. They could have it several minutes later and I'd have no way to tell.
Aaah yeah, I get what you mean. Then it'd need an UI when DS is active, but that'd probably be a bit too much to tell a killer, so you're right, my idea doesn't quite fully work

The odds of us noticing your post is actually pretty high. Even if we don't get a chance to respond to everything, we do actually read most of what is posted here.
Anywho, getting back on topic, the issue with the chase mechanic is that it has predefined rules that can be abused. Under normal circumstances, it's not an issue: You only stand to gain bloodlust by being in a chase, there's no downside. When you start penalizing being a chase, however, that gives you a reason to avoid being in a chase. You can do that simply by turning around. If the survivor isn't sprinting in your field of view (and you don't hit them), you can't start a chase with them. Simply put, if you wanted to actually tunnel someone, you could do that way more efficiently by moonwalking after them for 30 seconds rather than the normal 60, then down them and hook them freely.
Just a random idea that popped into my head while reading this thread, but make the timer 30 seconds and then make it work like Mending. If you are running, possibly also slugged since the short timer it won't go down or slow timer down when slugged so it doubles the time (60 seconds), down. Deactivate when fully healed or working on a generator, since it shows you're not being tunneled. Only way I can think of it being abused is to just run around to keep the timer up, but then you're not doing anything to progress the game and just wasting time.
-
Start of the event was pretty bad with killers putting on moris and tunnelling survivors, to deny them getting crowns.
The week after it started getting really fun though! I loved how common the cakes were, at least 2 were used every game granting about 60k bp for a normal game (for survivor). Items were pretty common and easy to get. I finally started feeling like I could play survivor and actually earn enough bloodpoints to level up characters and I'm going to be sad having to go back to simple 20-25k per game now. :/
-
Omg yes please. Just those 4 messages alone would make solo a lot more bearable to play.
-
I don't see the point of using licensed characters. Sounds like a lot of troubles and the archives was basically made so they could go more in depth about their original characters.
What would they do if they made a tome about Laurie and Michael? Wouldn't they basically just write the lore from the movies?
-
Lmao, reminds me of a Plague I went against the other say.
5 cakes were used and she started off trying to get us to farm with her, we did but I had a suspicion not to trust her. As soon as the last generator popped, she downed one person with NOED and I was like "Oh, this person probably hasn't been hooked yet and she went her BBQ points. Then she downer a second person and I thought it was a little weird. Then the third one and I realised what she was doing. She then started chasing after me, i ran her long enough for one of the teammates to use their Unbreakable. Rescued the others, she left me to go back.
In the end 3 of us escaped and she managed to down the last person and left them slugged until End Game Collapse time ran out. Then was super angry in post game chat about how she just wanted her challenge to kill during endgame.
-
You can grab people from gens!? I thought I was just patting their shoulder, reminding them to run from me.

This Perk is basically doing a sixth Gen. And one reason why Ruin got reworked was because it provided Slowdown without any effort.
And this Perk is Slowdown without any effort. Even more than Ruin.
Also imagine this perk stacked with Thana, Dying Light + Freddys 2 slowdown addons.
-
Might sound good on paper, but doing gens is probably the most boring part about the game for survivors and I doubt the devs will want to make perks that makes survivors sit and hold M1 for longer
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I think Moris are bugged. They cause a lot of gamecrashes lately.
Yeah, a lot of people, myself included, seem to crash while loading, when the killer offering doesn't flip. So sad :/
-
I see this PTB dying real fast because of the lack of survivors. Unlike the toolbox, map and medkit changes these last couple of PTBs, survivors have nothing to test this time, which means survivors have no reason to go to the PTB. They could've at least have buffed one or two survivor perks.
I spent 20 minutes waiting in killer queue and gave up, I'm not really interested in playing against Bubba/Billy, when their powers are basically the same, just changed a bit. Just giving us 1 or 2 buffed survivor perks at least would've given more of a reason to play survivor. Guess the devs didn't think that through though. :/
-
I understand Bubba, probably because of licensing issues, he haven't had a single new cosmetic. But I have no idea why Billy didn't get anything :/
-
I don't think people think he's boring cause he's strong (I doubt anyone think he's strong), but I find him boring to go against, cause he adds even more M1 holding to the game.
Holding M1 is probably the most boring part about the game and Legion just adds more of it to the game. There is not much you can do when they're in Frenzy. Also they are really good against new players that like to heal. When I solo queue I notice survivors like to get healed after mending, then get hit by frenzy, mend and heal again, rinse and repeat. Which basically means they're not doing gens cause they heal against a killer that can injure you with very little counterplay.
Edit: Try to be in Deep Wound in the underground of The Game, Yamaoka or in Midwich and you won't be able to see anything
-
You might not be aware, but great skillchecks were nerfed to only give 1% last patch (.6 seconds) and I'm pretty sure failed skillchecks have always only been 5% regress, not 10%
-
I always end up apologizing to the killer when I go against someone that's clearly new. :/ I always feel extremely bad for possibly ruining a new persons first experience of the game.

Can you imagine if the whining on the forums had a cooldown? That would be really revolutionary.
Honestly the best comment I've ever read
-
I'd really be fine with the change. I'd make slugging for the 4k more risky than it is now. Do you kill the 3rd survivor and use BBQ to see if he's within 32m or do you slug for the 4k and risk losing your slug, giving them a chance to get hatch?
It's way more high risk/high reward than low risk/high reward that it currently is.
-
I think Huntress will only get an add-on pass. I really couldn't see what the devs could change about her basekit and nobody isn't really complaining about her (except iri head and hitboxes), so I doubt they'll do anything to her basekit
-
I'm really saddened if this is going to be the new thing. I like to make my characters look unique with mix match, but now everytime a new skin releases I am forced to look just like any other person with the skin :/ Makes me feel less unique

There is pretty much no way he is going to get that now. Generally stuff has one chance to get updated. How many perk changes outside of reworks have you seen? How many killer changes? Clown got the slowdown while holding a bottle removed after about two years of being awful. Updates to perks / killers / mechanics don't happen regularly in this game, once something gets changed it's very unlikely it will get looked at again for years.
Pyramid Head had his update. There is a high chance there won't be any changes to him for at least a year, probably more.
I mean, Legion has had 2 updates (the nerf and then slight buff), Hag and Trapper had add on and basekit changes (not reworked) and same had Wraith. Granted most of these were before the devs started reworking killer powers, but I still think it counts since their power didn't change, only had adjustments, though most of their addons did recieve a rework

I prefer to believe that there is a reason on why they decided to make such an add-on and in fact, the base kit of Leatherface will be drastically improved. If I am wrong on the other side tho, why on the moon would they make an add-on that on the core is the same as ONE OF HIS PERKS. Y'all complained about nurse, but at least she doesn't have an add-on that copies the effect of an already existing perk. Better give Bubba wings, otherwise.... remains to be seen.
Actually you're wrong about the Nurse part. Bad Man Keepsake is Nurse's Calling but only lasts 60 seconds and Metal Spoon is Stridor
-
I really can't tell from the terror radius if I'm going against Deathslinger or Pyramid Head. Not sure if it's just me. Didn't try the PTB, but just listened to it, it's way better.

Tried, exploited by SWFs, failed. As long as survivors can hide near the hook, bomb the hook or mess it up in any other way, you can't punish the killer for their bad teamwork.
One thing I never understood is, the devs added the emblem penalty to killers camping, but they don't get the penalty if another survivor is nearby. Why can't they just reuse this system but with entity progression? If killer is within 16m the progression meter slows down, but if another survivor is hiding within those 16m or killer is chasing someone else, then the progression continues as normal.
Only downside to this is killer will be able to tell if another survivor is hiding nearby after hooking someone/ when camping.

The indoor maps are probably the prettiest maps there are (aside from The Game), gameplay wise I am mixed. I don't mind Lery's and The Game, but Hawkins and Midwich are nightmares. Hawkins mostly because of the lack of strong pallets, but otherwise I don't mind it.
Though I really dislike Midwich cause it has 4 strong pallets and the rest are so bad they might as well not be there. Good luck if you're going against Freddy, Doctor or Clown. It's almost always a better option to just run in a straight line in the corridors, than it is to run into a room to find a pallet.
I also really can't navigate through Midwich, trying to get teammates on hook that's below or above you is incredibly hard, cause there are only 3 ways to go up (4 if the killer breaks the bathroom doors) and it can be a nightmare to find ways to come down, I really feel like the map needs more holes in the floor, at least a couple in the corridor, you can use for easy way to get down. Midwich might be the best looking and most interesting map in the game, but gameplay wise it's feel horrible for both killer and survivor to play on.
-
I ran it for 5 hours yesterday and got to use it once... I don't see the issue with the perk. It's too situnational for me wanting to use it in my normal build
-
I think Billy is a pretty boring killer to go against, his power is nothing special or interesting, so I don't play him either. I think he is fairly balanced though. He has counterplay and can still be looped, only thing I think could be changed is make him a 110% killer, like any other killer with a ranged attack or has the ability to travel the map quickly. I used to think if survivors got found in a deadzone by Hillbilly it was their own fault, but DbD nowadays has so many deadzones, so I don't think that's a fair argument anymore. So making him a 110% killer would make deadzones a slight bit better against him.
His addons need a rework though, so many are pretty powerful with no or very little downsides.
-
Got it in 2 tries, but only because I read on the forum that you could play on The Game, equip Bond and follow the teammate getting chased on the other floor. I had no idea how to know if I had gotten the challenge, so I spent like 75% of the match just following a teammate and killer, basically sabotaging our chances of escaping. Teammates were angry at me in end game chat. :/
I hope the devs never make challenges like these again where you have to avoid playing the game normally to get it. If it was during multiple trials, it'd probably a bit better, but in one trial, with no in game indicator of when you've completed it (and when you are within range), it's just a painful and bad thought up challenge. If it was to fit Dwight better they should've made it "Hide in a locker while the killer is within 10m range 1 time" or something. Has nice synergy with perks like Head On as well.
-
I've introduced a lot of friends to the game. Listening to them react and ask about stuff is my favorite part.
"Exposed? Does that mean the killer can see my aura?"
"Why is Michael just staring at me?"
"How come the killer always find me while I'm healing?" - Nurses Calling
"How did Legion know I was in the locker?" - Killer Instinct
"How do I use my instaheal?" - Back when they were a thing
My personal favorite doesn't really have to do much with being confused, but...
"Bubba is so OP! He can down in one easy hit and can down multiple people!" - He still hasn't learned to split up or go for vault when Bubba chases him
There really are a couple of things the devs should explain better for new players. Probably rename Exposed to Vulnerable or something, since Exposed is a very misleading name. Also I don't think many new players knows what "Secondary Action" means when it comes to the former instaheals.
-
I don't mind the cosmetic store, they have to make money somehow and it is a good way to do it. Not like they're forcing anyone to buy them, so it's not really an issue.
Charms suck though, they're just made to fill up the rift, but I doubt people really care about them. They're so small and unnoticeable on survivors, that they're mostly just for your own amusement. They make a bit more sense on killer hooks, where they're bigger and easier to see, but it really doesn't fit the game to see chibi versions of the survivors/killers. I have no charms equipped on any of my survivors and the charms on my killers are still from the first rift, cause I don't really bother to update them.
-
I'd say Self Care is probably the best killer perk, especially paired with an addon or perk that gives the survivor Mangled.
-
As killer: I don't think DS is broken or OP, except in situations where the survivor jumps into a locker, so you're forced to either leave them or eat the DS.
As survivor: Adrenaline is overrated. I once used it all the time, but realised I play just as well without it. Roughly 70% of the time I was already healthy when finishing the last gen, 20% of the time I was injured, 5% of the time I was on a hook and 5% of the time I had it proc while in a chase. It's an awesome feeling when it happens to be good, but most of the time it was just a waste of a perk slot. Haven't used it for almost a year.
Another unpopular survivor opinion is that I don't mind going against the Doctor, unless it's one only wanting to go for a 3 gen.
-
I also played on The Game and it spawned up there a couple days ago. I was in awe cause I thought they had completely removed that spawn.
-
I get what you mean, but I don't think people should be punished for wanting a certain map. Yesterday I somehow managed to get Ironworks 3 games in a row and used a map offering, to make sure I didn't get it a 4th time.
We can make a deal though. How about people that use the Haddonfield offering get permabanned?
-
I was pretty burnt out on the game up to Deathslingers release. I forced myself to keep playing though, because I wanted bloodpoints and when some of my friends asked me to play with them. I did not enjoy the game, I got mad at every small thing, realised I said "I hate going against this killer because..." about every killer. Deathslinger got released and I hated going against him, he reminded me a bit too much of oldschool Legion, where I had to rely on him to screw up and I could do very little to counterplay his power.
I just stopped playing, I explored other games like AC and ended up playing that until a couple days ago (a little over 2 months break), where I began playing DbD again because I paid for the rift and I didn't want to let those money go to waste. I have really been enjoying the game again and probably played for a combined 20 hours these last 3 days. I have become more forgiving when teammates make dumb decisions, I only hate going against Freddy, Spirit, Deathslinger and somewhat Huntress(because hatchet hitboxes being bad), but I am still mostly enjoying the game again.
So yeah, if you're bored go explore new games and come back to DbD when you're feeling like it.
-
Nurse is still the strongest killer in the game, slightly above Freddy. If you are good at her you can still do really well. The only issue with her is how buggy she's become.

I think Discordance is popular lately because people have seen it as an “easy,” tracking perk. Arguably Whispers is better to find people throughout the game but it requires so practice to use well. Meanwhile Discordance can literally light up three seconds into a match and tell you where 2+ survivors are.
Im not saying it’s bad, or insulting anyone who uses it because I use it on a lot of killers myself. Just giving my opinion on why it’s a good go to perk.
Oh yeah, it's defintiely a good perk in general, though I prefer Whispers. Good survivors will realise that the killer is using Discordance and split up, which is why I rarely use it. It's good once or twice, but once good survivors realise you've got it, you've only encouraged survivors to split up and play optimally.
-
I've seen so many people with Discordance lately (probably because of the channel) so I actively try to avoid working on gens with other survivors to the point if I see someone coming to me I'll go hunting for another generator.
Though I agree on your statement that multiple people working on a gen is not a problem, the problem is people splitting up and working on different generators.
-
I don't mind them changing their policy. The statement was accurate back when the shop came out. My only issue is how they're focusing on making new cosmetics instead of recoloring some of the older ones. I'd really want to see more recolors, like Fengs cardigan. Probably wouldn't be too much work and would help with the original free/paid cosmetics ratio policy they originally had.
-
I've been wanting the devs to do recolors like those ever since the shop got released. Just simple recolors of those basic cosmetics, just like they did when they released the shop, but they didn't continue doing those, now they're only doing those 1080 auric cells ones.
I really hope that the devs someday will taking notes from the DbD Mobile team, cause I'd definitely pay money/iri shards on recolors of old cosmetics.
-
Playing solo survivor did 2 generators, looping the killer for the last 3 gens, I go down and hooked (with Kindred). Killer doesn't camp, surprisingly. He chases another survivor but none of the two other teammates come to save me cause one had found hatch and the other did an exit gate and just stood there. Chased survivor makes it to the exit that has been opened. Those two escape, other person waits for me to die on hook so he can get hatch.
So I basically carried the game, but got left to die on first hook for no reason.
-
I main Pig and think she's amazing, she has a slow the game down power (though at times bad RNG can screw that), anti pallet loop dash and her crouch can be useful at times.
Though it takes some practice to get good at her, but she is truly a killer that can do a bit of everything and she is one of the killers that can do well without addons.
-
Already yesterday I had 5 Huntress' with iri head, not even kidding. First game was against one, then next game was a Doctor, then 2 games with iri Huntress, then 1 exhaustion Huntress and then one last iri heads. With how horrible her hatchets hitboxes are atm, I decided to just quit.
-
Toxic? No, unless the killer has downed everyone and just letting them bleed out
Extremely boring? Yes, being slugged as a survivor is really boring
Sweaty? Yes, especially when they do it at 5 gens left or do it for the 4k, I really don't care enough about pips to slug for the 4k. Though I can't deny that sometimes it's the best way to slow down the game and do it myself, if I feel like there's not enough pressure on the survivors.
Though I'd never call anyone toxic for slugging unless the reason stated above.
-
Hey devs, hope you're all staying safe during these crazy times!
I have a question for you, something I and a lot of the community seem to have been wondering. So here's my question:
What was your intent with the survivors add on changes and do you intend to revert it? I know you said something like "Making it more consistent with killer powers", but did you think through that survivors have around 55+ addons and have 5 different items with 4 different rarities each (except keys), mix this with bloodpoint, luck, mist, hook, spawning and map offerings it gets extremely hard to keep up your addon supply and get addons that you like. This is especially hurting newer players.
-
It is so random, came out of nowhere and I had only seen one or two people suggest it once.
It's like the devs didn't even consider the situation survivors are in. Their bloodwebs have 55 different addons and 5 items, each with different rarities. Add to that the amount of map, luck and bloodpoint addons they also get. So they're less likely to not get the addons they're looking for and have to spend a lot of bp to get a decent chance of getting them. This is much harder than for killers that have less addons, doesn't have to buy their power, but also gain a significantly bigger amout of bloodpoints each game. This change is espacially hurting new players they have very little at the start of the game.
Still hope they revert the change someday...though knowing BHVR, it's most likely never gonna happen.
