I've previously advocated for a token system too. Although I don't know the reason why the devs didn't or haven't implemented that yet, my thought was that they didn't want multiple IS users to be screwed over by one teammate getting all the totems. But people won't always know you have IS anyways and do totems just because... so for all these reasons, Self-Care truly is the better perk (and/or Botany Knowledge with a medkit).
I guess my token system with capping it at 3 would remove the problem of someone taking all the totems at the beginning of the match. It'd be such a good buff that could even make the perk somewhat meta but also still be balanced, cause it's not like survivors get free heals. They get rewarded for doing a second objective (totems) and if they get one totem, then they can either decide to be happy with what they've got or spend even more time looking for totems. Realistically, even with this buff, I doubt many people would put it in their build instead of BT, DS, Sprint Burst, Iron Will and the other current meta perks.
-
I just wish you could get tokens. Being able to destroy every totem you see instead of savin it when you already got Inner Strength up. It sucks when you have it up and you either cleanse a totem to avoid NOED or not cleanse it and risk having a teammate do it. I get having 5 heals is kinda nuts but you also worked towards getting them, but spending time ignoring gens to find totems. Or instead of the tiers being 10/9/8 seconds let it be "You can save up to 1/2/3 tokens"

The fact they tied a totem counter to a perk (Small Game) just shows that BHVR never intends to even out this disparity between solo and SWF.
They intend to even it out! Just by giving perks solo survivors have to run. :) Just run Kindred to get information SWF already has, Small Game to know how many totems are done (something SWF also know by default), Buckle Up to see how far survivors have recovered on the floor (something SWF already know by default), Bond/Empathy to find out where other survivors are (something SWF can just say without a perk). That's 4 perks to even out between SWF and solo, but oh! You also gotta run BT to counter camping and DS to counter tunneling, Iron Will to counter Spirit etc
Gone a bit over the top with my post, I just really want Kindred and Totem Counter to be basekit for survivors. Would help out tremendously.
-
I totally agree with you, sure the slowdown addons got removed but his boring gameplay is basically the same and it's still not fun to go against and he's still super strong.
Also the 30 seconds of sleep immunity from alarm clocks is a really weird change. Like, unless you're healthy and go for a clock mid chase, I guess it's useful? Seems like such a random change, make it the full 90 seconds if anything.

My understanding is that they can get the rights to the character but that doesn't give them the rights to an exact actor's face. Hence, they do their best to use the name and kind-of-sort-of make the character.
This used to be the case, as clearly evident by Laurie, Quentin and Tapp, but from Ash and onwards they get both rights to the characters and likeness. They even gave Natalia Dyer (Nancy's actress) a pillow with her DbD model as a thank you.

He looks pretty good and accurate to the actor in that trailer though..
but I guess it’s different in-Game?
His face would look good ingame too, but they decided to give him a weird expression. Looking at his model with no facial expression, it looks really good, but they decided to ruin their own good work.

I wasn't allowed to write "ketchup" or say "I have hair between my feet", because I was pointing out Adams crown from last year is bugged and puts his hair between his feet

I just realised that the only way to do this challenge is locked behind a Paywall, having to buy either Ghostface or Oni, or hope one of their perks gets put on the shrine (which it isn't). It's not a challenge you need to do to reach the end of the level, but still kinda scummy of them.

Nemesis, Furtive Chase etcetc help you change obsession

The number of pallets on shelter woods isn't any different than most other maps. They can be easier to miss when they largely only spawn in rock loops. There's also 5 jungle gym spawns, the only thing that can feel bad is when you get unlucky and they are all LT walls.
Man yesterday I got two L and T walls next to each other, went down and got tunneled. There were no pallet around, just one big deadzone except those two jungle gyms. I never run DS and my teammates didn't run BT, so I got tunneled out of the game super quick cause I had nowhere to run to. :c
-
For killer it's grabbing challenges and hook survivors in basement. Grabbing challenge cause grabs or bs atm and I feel so toxic running a full on basement build and proxy camping just to get my damn challenge done.
For survivor I find the "Do x amount of gens" super boring. It's okay if it counts when anyone does a gen, like last time, but the ones where you have to do 15 gens yourself is just zzzzz. Otherwise I also dislike the "Unhook x amount of survivors" cause it creates a competition between all survivors to farm the hooked one.
Also screw the challenge where you have to remain within 10m of a killer for a minute.
-
Zombies are programmed to hear loud noise indicators, pebble and red herring both make those notif for the killer, so the zombies hear and see them too.
-
I'd say it's both good and weak. Being able to instantly start a chase is a great way to instantly get pressure on the map, but also being able to see if anyone spawns near your totem, so you can go chase them away. Though it's a 1 time, 7 second use and after that you're basically playing with just 3 perks.
Would be nice to buff it slightly to reveal survivors auras for 2 seconds every minute or something or give it a secondary effect
-
I think it's going to be like the Midwich map. The devs know it's problematic, but they can't do anything about it, since it's up to the license holders to decide what they want the map to be like.

I remember McCote saying "It's fun stabbing people." That was back when he was originally released, though, when he could stab stab stab and whiffing didn't penalize him. I didn't find this vanilla stabbing nonsense much fun then, but now that whiffing kicks him out of his power, he's definitely not fun.
Many of my casual DbD friends prefer to play Legion when they play killer. I asked them why since it's not a particularly powerful killer and I got the response that they like their design, their power is easy to understand and fun to use because they go fast, can jump over pallets and windows and can stab multiple people quickly.
So yeah, as someone with many hours into the game, I don't see the appeal of Legion, but I've learned why the casuals like them.
-
Either Hag or Twins. One has amazing camping potential and the other slugging (and some camping).
If I had to pick one, I'd probably say Hag, since her camping potential can completely ruin the experience for the person on hook. At least you got more perks to counter slugging, then camping. And overall her power is kinda boring and outdated.
-
Breakable Walls are only really good on Glenvale and Midwich, cause those two maps were designed with breakable walls in mind. I feel like all these older maps they were just slapped on buildings cause they didn't know where else to put them, making them all feel like predropped god pallets that killers have to break.
I really don't like them and hate that the devs insist on putting them on older maps. Can't think of any older map that got better due to breakable walls, except for Preschool. Also the lack of interactivity on survivors part makes the mechanic kinda 'eh' in my opinion. Breakable walls mostly favor survivors until they're gone and then it favors killers without anything survivors can do about it.

idk if the dbd gods were smiling upon me, maybe i learned how to paly, or maybe the survivors were SUPER BAD, but i just got my first win just now! i did my best to make sure i didn't tunnel or camp either, like if i hooked i just walked away and went to go find more survivors, and if someone gave me the slip i just let em go--but i was still able to win! super excited! still trying to find a work around for that headache they give him when he comes out of his frenzy lol, timing is key it seems!
Not much you can do about the headache, it's meant to blurr your vision a bit and help survivors escape. The stun is like 4 seconds long (too long imo), but awe man! Congrats on the win. I am happy for you! (:

Yeah I completely misinterpreted that to begin with, I was like "Oh cool, this will take 2 games to finish, easy peasy". It was not easy peasy. Especially considering at high ranks I only get one MAYBE 2 generators finished personally.
I liked this challenge much more last rift when it was "Be alive when 15 generators get finished", I still hate these 'do gens' challenges, cause I feel like they aren't much of a challenge and more of a dumb grind, but at least then, you could get the challenge done in 3 games if everything went well. Having to do 10 by yourself is just a boring grind and will most likely take 5/6 games.

Those were not fun times.
Legion was simultaneously OP and hilariously weak.
Yeah, playerbase took a huge hit when it took them like months to nerf them. Trickster kinda reminds me of them. Fun to play as, not fun to play against and he's weak but kinda busted.

OH WELL GOSH DANG LOL. im just shooting myself in the foot! lol, tysm for the tips :) ill try to work this into my gameplay. he looked fun so i bought a few killers like him, and pyramid head, trickster and michael. ill have to play a few more killers to see which one best suits me. i do like chasing as legion but ill have to be way more picky how i use his frenzy lol, i can barely keep track of these slippery survivors
Legion is definitely a fun first killer to play! Though his power doesn't help with anything but getting the first hit on survivors, the downing hit you'll have to do without the power. He's one of the only killers whose power doesn't help him down survivors, but it's extremely good at getting the first. He's had quite the history. Getting released and considered weak but busted at the same time, plenty of exploits to abuse, nerfed to the ground, then buffed a bit, then nerfed a bit, then buffed a bit and now he's here, in like lower middle tier. Good at destroying noobs, but bad against good players. XD Good luck wit learning the game though!

ahhhh OK this makes SO much more sense lol. i was like scratching my head and literally looking at my knife like 'AM I HOLDING A SPOON?"
Haha, no worries. They used to be able to take down people while using Frenzy, but quickly got removed due to survivors literally not being able to do anything to escape. Windows and pallets are all they've got to try to escape a killer and a Legion in Frenzy can just ignore that.
Also scratchmarks and blood trails disappear while you are using your Frenzy power, I just remembered, so that's probably why you have a hard time tracking.
-
You cannot down survivors with Legions Frenzy. That'd be extremely busted since you're faster than them and can jump over pallets and windows.
Frenzy hit is to injure multiple survivors within a short timeframe, but you have to hit them while not using Frenzy to down them.
Edit: The disappearing thing could be perks like Iron Will, Lucky Break and other perks that help you escape killers.

The real question we must ask ourselves is: Why does Backwater Swamp exist at all?
Back in 2016, Mcote was like "Okay team, we need ideas for a new map" and then Mclean puked all over a piece of paper and Mcote was like "You're a genius" and that's how Backwater Swamp came to exist.
-
I notice Haddonfield and Swamp do tend up broken in one way or another. My guess it's cause they're old maps from 2016, that haven't really been touched much since release. They're both old and outdated and it really shows. Hopefully the map reworks will change that and make them more stable and viable.
-
I don't get it. You want to be able to see if it's okay to tunnel or not?
Survivor gets unhooked? Do they glow white? Don't tunnel
No glow? Then free to tunnel.
Go after the rescuer. Only time BT is a problem is when the one with BT bodyblocks, but if you refuse to hit them, they'll be in a ######### position in 12 seconds. Tho I'm all for BT removing collission
-
I don't feel much difference yet. I finished all challenges and I am at lvl 15, which I have been around the same when I finished my challenges in the other rifts. It is definitely a bit faster, but getting 1 tier, without challenges, is still having to play 10 games and hope they don't end so quickly so you can get the full exp reward.
So far I haven't seen much difference, but will make my final judgement as the other levels open up. I am just glad they've been looking into it and making it only 500 exp for a rift shard is definitely the right choice. Can't wait to see how many more rift fragments we get in the other levels.
-
You know what'd help fix this issue? Give survivors a killer ping indicator, so when they join a lobby, they can see if it's a VPN'ing killer. If they see a killer with 300 ping, then they can dodge and VPN'ing killers will be penalized by getting dodged and have longer waiting times.
-
I'll just take a game I had yesterday for an example.
Last gen had been popped, two people were found at one gate and got hit down with NOED one got put on hook and the other slugged nearby. I 99% a gate, but my other teammate for some reason decided to open it. Now we were on a time limit of 3 minutes to find NOED and save two people. We spend about a minute and a half before finding NOED, now we have a minute and a half left to save 2 teammates far away from the open door, we heal up the slug, go for the save, run for the gate, but halfway through the map downs the earlier slug, we didn't have time to fully heal, with about 30 seconds left. Now they refuse to pick up the person cause they know EGC will kill them and if they tried to hook them, then we wouldn't have had time to save them and run out anyway. We had to leave that survivor behind, meanwhile if we had 99% the gate, we could've tried to save them.
You lose more teammates to opening gates than when you occasionally die cause of 99'd gate. Also it's dumb to willingly start a timer and put pressure on yourself and the team.
-
From what I can see, they have removed the long loops next to shack and jungle gyms. It definitely feels more balanced.
-
I have friends I play with, 90% of the time we don't communicate, we just like playing the game knowing that we've got competent teammates.

Licker
I think they may do possible legendary skins for survivors to change them into res evil characters or just the clothing collection something along those lines.
🐷💖
Pretty sure the guy on the hook is my favorite RE Character: Felix Richter.
Though in all seriousness tho, I hope we get another Stranger Things situation. Claire and Chris as survivors, so we can get Jill, Chris, Ada etc legendary skins. Then with Mr. X and he can have a Nemesis skin.
-
Isn't it a joke already?
Besides, I find it funny that every anti scratchmark perk (Dance With Me, Deception) only last last 3 seconds. Lucky Break lasts for 90.
-
Why couldn't it just be basekit? Solo queue survivors are running out of perk slots to get on par with SWF.
I have to run
Kindred to see if someone is going for the save/have someone save me
Bond/Empathy to find survivors to heal me
Buckle Up if you wanna see how far your teammates have healed up
Better Together to have teammates find you on a gen
All the things SWF get by just being on Discord. (Probably a couple perks I've forgotten)
Meanwhile I also have to run Borrowed Time to avoid my teammates getting tunneled and DS to avoid I get tunneled. But God forbid survivors would get a totem counter basekit. Now another perk I have to run to get on par with SWF.
-
I'll never forget the time before DC penalties and where hatch didn't spawn at 5 gens, where I went against a Billy and someone got cross map chainsawed by him and then DC'd. Then the 2 other survivors decided to DC, either because they didn't wanna do a 3v1 or cause they were a SWF.
So I'm like "This sucks" and just spam vaults so the Billy can find and kill me. He downs me and then proceeds to just look at me and nod his head. I'm confused to why he isn't killing me. Then he proceeds to slug me until last second and then he picks me up and hooks me. Proceeds to call me trash in endgame chat, when I ask why he slugged me. I guess he wanted me to DC too, so he could post a 4 man DC endgame screenshot on Reddit or somethng.

Why play Demogorgon when I can play Freddy instead?
- The survivors have to spend 80s closing my portals instead of 10s.
- Survivors close my portals slower when working on it together instead of faster.
- (Here's the biggest slap in the face) I don't have to spend any time setting down portal entrances at the start of the match!
----
Why play Trapper, Hag, or Clown when I can play Freddy instead?
- I can place traps that either slow down survivors or lure them to dead zones where fake pallets are waiting.
- My traps cannot be disarmed (by awake survivors) or be removed with flashlights.
- I do not have to go back to an old trap and collect it if I want to relocate it.
- (Here's the biggest slap in the face) I don't have to stop or slown down to place any traps!
----
Why play any M1 killer, when I can play Freddy instead?
- My hits make survivors vulnerable to my traps and they cannot wake themselves up mid-chase (without Self Care and lucky skillcheck RNG).
- (Here's the kicker) I get free hits because the survivors often misjudge my lunge range due to my short height!
----
Why play The Pig when I can play Freddy instead?
- I get free game slow down if the survivors do not want to be vulnerable to my traps.
- The survivors are vulnerable to my traps unless they go across the map to interact with an alarm.
- The alarm always spawn furthest away from them, instead of being a random macabre device.
----
Why play Wraith when I can play Freddy instead?
- Survivors who are awake cannot see me at long range.
- Survivors who are awake see me intermittently at medium range.
- I do not have to slow down to "uncloak."
----
Why bring Insidious when I can play Freddy instead?
- If the survivor is asleep, then I do not have to play around Borrowed Time when they rescue another from a hook.
- If the survivor waits too long to unhook then they will be asleep and I do not have to play around Borrowed Time.
- If I hit the survivor before they unhook then I do not have to play around Borrowed Time.
All this just reminds me that Freddys got teleportation for map pressure, fake pallet/snares he can set with no cooldown or slowdown to use in chase, he can counter Borrowed Time, add ons that slow the game down and his power passively puts survivor to sleep. Meanwhile Trapper is not allowed to start with two traps. XD

I really wish they'd add a communication wheel for survivors one day.
I'd be so happy if they did that.
Home Sweet Home has a sticker wheel and ping system to communicate. DbD just need some simple stuff like "Working on a gen", "Going for save", "Killer camping" etc
Scott did a video about this and it was pretty good
-
He has the highest killrate of any killer, he is extremly easy to learn and he's like a jack of all trades character, except he masters everything and is not bad or average at anything. He has a good chase power, that can deny loops, good map mobily with his teleport, can slow down the game through addons and he can deny people Borrowed Time saves, so he can easily camp, tunnel and slug someone that just got unhooked.
Sure killers like Nurse are stronger than him, but at least they have a higher skillceiling.
You can say you can counter most of his power by staying awake, but that argument doesn't really work since he doesn't even have to put your to sleep, you get passively put into the dream world. The only way to wake up is to fail a skillcheck, hope someone else is awake or go across the map to a clock (which is always the one that's furthest away from where you fall asleep).

Putting a price tag on everything is a bad direction.Even Behaviour doesn't do that.
The game is also pretty grindy if you only wanna play survivor. The cheapest perks cost 1000 points. In an good survivor match you get between 50-100. Average for killer is 250-300. Got to play 5 hours of survivor and still only having 600 points, then switched to killer and saw there was a huge difference.

The game ain't even out and they've already got the racket sorted out.
Ain't that something close to what Evolve idd?
Don't know much about Evolve, but the greed for money clearly shows with these devs. It sucks cause I think the game really does have potential to be a DbD competitor. Even if the game is super cheap, the monitization for ingame items/characters is horrible.
Also they announced giving people time outs for lobby dodging AND they're adding voice chat to the game, which are two things I really dislike.
-
I'd say to have 4 survivors injured at the same time with Thana is pretty hard, if you don't have Legion unlocked and don't have Thana on them. One of my friends only play killer for challenges and had to play Nurse for this. Took 4 matches before she got it.

I believe you can fight back against the killer just like in Friday The 13th right? In that case, my god does that sound awful against a SWF.
It's dirt cheap though so I do plan on trying it out!
You can, but the only chance you have to kill them is if you do all 3 rituals, which means survivors did all of their objective. So it's not like they can bully a killer all game and then kill them. It's pretty much either they escape or attempt to kill the killer. The basic killer (Belle) is pretty easy to kill, but the other 2 are harder, since they have more health and strength. So it's not that bad.
The worst part abou the game is how monetized everything is. Cosmetics you have to buy, lootboxes you have to pay for (though you get 1 free for every level up), killers and survivors and a currency you can only get 1 of from lootboxes and those cosmetics you can buy with them cost like 300-500. And if that wasn't enough, they've announced they're working on a battlepass. If a game has like 70% of the game is locked behind a paywall during EARLY ACCESS, then you know what the devs is only after.
-

Is Home Sweet Home any good? I've been hearing about it more and more lately and don't know if I should give it a shot or not.
I was critical at first, but saw some gameplay and tried it out. It's not as fun and addicting as when I first started playing DbD, but it's still a good and fun game. I play a lot of both roles and enjoy both equally, even though a good SWF is not fun to go against, at all.
-
Healing without perks takes 16 seconds, healing with Sloppy takes 20. That gives the killer plenty of time to go back to the hook and tunnel you.
-
I've taken a break from DbD and played a lot of HSH. Honestly a really fun game. Kinda like DbD, but just different enough to make it feel fresh and different. Once I finish this rift and get to take a DbD break, I'll be playing this a lot.
But they had server issues, so they decided to close the server for a day, while they worked on it.
-
Pretty often. I remember at Twins release, they disappeared after 1-2 days. I still see plenty of Tricksters.
-
I've noticed that combined with being sent to so many servers with 150+ ping, for some reason. I usually get a clean 50.
-
Also killers never get stunned from my experience. I played a couple of games, where I swung and clearly hit with pallet, but I didn't get stunned and I had the same happen as survivor.
-
If leaks are true, next rift is gonna have an extra tome in archives and it'll only take 500xp to gain a rift point, so it'll become a bearable grind. But yeah, so far I've completed all rifts, but also left me super burnt out from DbD, so I don't end up playing until the next rift releases.
-
I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be a 24 or 32m radius around hook. Just because a Wraith is standing in front of hook cloaked, doesn't mean he's not camping. Or just Freddys whole existence. Wouldn't really be a problem for a killer that doesn't camp and tunnel.
