Just to see how much it impacts the current meta. It's clearly way too strong and used by so many survivors. I understand it'll make killers like Nurse miserable, but the game isn't just Nurse. Besides you can't nerf her without considering DH anyway.

It's getting tiresome of how much outplay I have to do to get a single down because of this horrendous perk combined with, frankly, map design that is incredibly sub-par to what one would expect from a game lasting this long. I'm being very polite with the wording.

I think it'll be good data, and would help balancing the new version of it that SHOULD be underway from what I understand.

    Why not forever? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • I don't like Hag either, but fortunately I rarely meet her.

Despite the very, very annoying little exploit that survivors can do to force you to DC, this killer may be the most fun I've had since...Artist, maybe.

Mobility - fantastic. Takes a while to get used to, but this is how you make a killer decent without powerful anti loop. The amount of little tricks you can do, and ambushing survivors inside or entering lockers is the funniest thing I've done in ages. Where was this creativity when you were making Sadako?

Nightfall - powerful, but not game breakingly oppressive.

Remnants - interesting. I've barely even started experimenting, but it feels like you can do some really creative plays.

    Addons - surprisingly decent.

Honestly, the only thing he's lacking is a skin that makes him not look like Cucumber The Conquerer...

    Props all round, fantastic job.

this killer may be the most fun I've had since...Artist

I would love to give you 100 vote ups for mentioning The Artist <3 I also totally agree about Dredge. He's not OP at all (sry Sluzzy) but still very fun to play. I love scaring survivors with him and he still feels scary to play against. I mean, I like Sadako too, but Drussy is definitely better than her.

I only play Bubba and Wraith, and on average 3 out of every 4 bring dead hard (and probably 75% of games have a COH too). Occasionally there is a 2 DH game, or 4 DH, but anything out of that range is rare.

Today, as Wraith, I had the most wonderful experience. I managed to catch someone out in the open and hit them immediately. They ran to a pallet, and misplayed it. My thought was "Wow! They have to waste DH really early in the chase". So I lunged at them, and...hit him?? Wow. Someone was down, and only one gen was done. What luck to get the one non-DHer as the first chase!

Since only one gen was done, I thought it was worth it to actually find a second person. I did, and...no DH again??? I hooked and tried to find a third victim.

That's how the entire game went. I ended up with a 10 hook, 2K game (misplayed the ending and let the third guy escape). But afterward, I was...happy? With a 2K? Yep. I had fun in chases, and occasionally even ran into survivors that were injured more than 10 seconds after I last saw them! Everyone said "gg" in end chat, and meant it. I even apologized for running Corrupt/PR/DMS/NOED (genuinely felt bad about it).

My normal Wraith game is 3 health states on the first chase, which means 3 gens pop. Then I tunnel that guy to ensure I will get one pathetic kill (since everyone else has 3 health states too). If lucky, my NOED is still up and maybe I get a second. I (and the survivors) end the game angry, and stressed, and taunting each other about our respective BS perks.

This rare experience was how MOST of my games went before the "improved" DH and COH. Until I got a game completely free of those perks, I had forgotten how fun DBD can be. The greatest puzzlement I have about this game is how the devs can't see that two perks and two perks alone - DH and COH - have driven down player numbers and materially degraded everyone's (even survivors') experience.

That sounds weird. Are you sure you played DBD?

Just played a match against a slugging God nurse. She ran double range, knock out, the plague slugging perk, and pr and lethal pursuer. Play how you want, but this is just extremely unnecessary. I cheered when the Dwight tbagged on hatch because she 100% deserved it. And then when I went in their stream, they proceeded to insult me and call me "bad", (even though they needed to run the strongest crap to get kills.)

No, it is not. To be fair, how often do u meet a four men slugging god nurse? I cant remember when I played last time against a slugging killer with knockout.

  • From my killer AND survivor perspective, this perk is fine now. Still meta, but not overperforming.

  • myersmatch.jpg

First match of the day and I've got these pretty nice guys. Normally, when I saw toxic and homophobic names, I would have dodged the lobby, but I've been waiting for about 10 minutes. So I decided to embrace the fun experience. The match took place on the Clown Map. I found all 4 survivors at the shack and was greeted warmly by them with teabags. I quickly got Steve on the hook because he made a mistake and wasn't expecting Bamboozle. As soon as I got off the hook, he was unhooked and I turned back. I wanted to chase the unhooker, but Steve blocked me once with BT and a second time because of DS. I took the DS and tunneled Steve out of the game. After that, I hooked clicky Ace and camped him into the second stage. Thanks to their altruism, I somehow managed to win this match. I mean it wasn't a Chuck Norris team, but at least these people knew what gens are good for and how to run in circles and how to connect maze tiles. Definitely good enough to stomp M1 killers like Myers if they dont play with strong add ons.

Actually I shouldn't play against these people because my MMR is pretty low. With Myers I lose most of my matches (0-2 kills). So I'm still wondering what's wrong with MMR?

Can you name a survivor perk that forces killer to do twice as much objective or otherwise lose?

Have you ever heard of CoH? Boons maybe? No?

  • @Sluzzy said:

Three times out of the few matches played today I have actually lost due to one perk.

A reminder that NOED is a perk that rewards failure. The survivors did well completing the objective against impossible and unbearable odds only for someone to lose because the game gives the killer a petty kill.

    I wouldn't mind this perk if two conditions were true;

    1) The survivor objective was much easier to complete.

    2) Survivor had a similar perk.

It's not a good feeling to lose when the opponent played poorly but got rewarded for it. When the state of the game incredibly favors the killer, NOED needs a change now.

Last time you wanted a Demogorgon nerf, now it's NOED again. Sluzzy, you're running out of ideas.

    2) Survivor had a similar perk.

You wanna give the survivors the power to kill the killer with one hit? Well, did u ever hear about VHS? This is the perfect killer bully simulator. Id highly recommend it to you, but we all know, that you are a god nurse in a Laurie's clothing. Just to remember:

Every time I see a post about a surv complaining about a killer perk like noed, I always see killers bring up the same four perks as a counter response. Ds, bt, unbreakable, and dh. Now I definitely see how dead hard is a fair comparison or at least understand their pov because it does deny fair hits most of the time and overall I can see why they argue that if noed is unfair so is dh.

I, however, cannot get how bt, ds, and ub are in the same realm??? They’re always brought up when killers discuss unfair perks as counter points but I genuinely don’t understand how these are unfair. They always call them second chancey and a back up for bad plays, but the perks are made to counter otherwise highly difficult situations to escape from.

They’re in the game to make a certain game play style more fair for the other side bc other wise being tunneled and camped would have no legitimate counters, and this is even more true for solo que. It would be nearly impossible to get saves and escapes semi regularly if they weren’t in the game.

And all of these perks can be played around as long as your play style isn’t hard tunnelling and camping. And even then a good bit of the time they don’t help much depending on the killer. Ds? Only used once with a short timer and if you go for the unhooker you don’t face any consequence. Same for bt. Go for the unhooker and you’re fine? Also, on highly mobile killers these counter perks do not do very much to help and only become majorly viable in endgame. Plenty of blights and spirits have still mowed me down a few seconds after a ds stun before I could get to a gate, and fast killers like that can tank a bt hit and down you right after with little recovery time. On slower killers who can’t shoot projectiles I can understand the annoyance at end game more, but it still isn’t very difficult to avoid those perks if you don’t aggressively tunnel and camp. I’m not saying those strats aren’t fair or are toxic, but I am saying they only should be allowed because counter play exists against those strats within these perks.

Same for unbreakable. It doesn’t stop you from slugging, it only stops you from slugging for an immense amount of time before you face consequence. What reason would one have to slug for approx 25+ seconds when objective is to get hook sacrifices? That’s plenty of time to chase someone away in case of a pallet or flashlight save. It stops killers from bleeding out lobbies or preventing the other side from having no counter play for killers refusing to hook and denying saves.

If all of these perks were gone, what would you recommend to do to escape a face camping/hard tunnel situation? Or even have a CHANCE to escape? Letting the others gen rush while someone takes the L and dies because there’s no chance of a save isn’t fair at all.

Yes it’s true they can be abused, but a lot of perks can be abused. Star struck on nurse with infectious can easily give a good player a three man down because of her speed if she felt like it. Make your choice on a hag makes camping so rewardable especially with the add on that allows her to chose where to teleport without having to have traps triggered. Depending on the player and the build and the map many perks can be abused.

My point is these perks are always called unfair for killers during any discourse about broken or cheap perks when they have counter play and, depending on the killer, hardly work.

I genuinely don’t understand why these are always brought up as stupid and unfair and on par with cheap perks like noed and dead hard. They aren’t there to reward mess ups and bad plays. There are hook states in the game for a reason, survivors aren’t expected to never get hooked. So why should getting downed once automatically mean they shouldn’t have a way to avoid getting targeted immediately after a save? Why shouldn’t teammates have a way to ensure someone getting saved can last at least 10 seconds afterward?

I hear stories about bt saves with ds in the killers face to be annoying and all of that, but I rarely see this in my games? Survivors usually don’t do that unless the killer is actively camping, because our whole objective is to survive and willingly getting those saves just risks dying.

Plus you don’t get any points for unsafe rescues? There’s no real motive to do this besides being toxic, but that doesn’t tend to end well on our part anyway and because of that I don’t see any of that “oh well they unhooked in my face before I could even leave the area so I downed them” nonsense. I’m sure it happens and plenty of lower rank players have probably done it out of lack of experience, but in my mmr it doesn’t happen commonly at all.

The only answer I could think of is that the people who hate these perks are people who solely play with a camp and tunnel style. But I don’t wanna assume all killers who say that only do so bc of that play style, because it seems unlikely and that’s a narrow minded view to have. Surely there’s more reasons. So if any killers who don’t tend to play like that have an answer for why they hate these perks anyway I’d be happy to try and understand. Sincerely.

"Dead Hard" is even stronger than NOED, cuz u have no counterplay against "shift + e" in most cases. Nevertheless I wouldn't care if they remove "Dead Fart" and "NOED" together.

    Back to your topic:

Im fine with those perks, cuz i rarely camp or tunnel people. The only exception is people with DS who force me to tunnel them by bodyblocking me with BT and then jumping into a locker only to then stun me with DS. I tunnel these people on principle.

The last bubba I play against camped me at first hook😒 yeah I’m sorry I just see that as a waste of time and I’m sick of it.

It's definitely a waste of time for at least two players. I've probably been playing DBD too long to be upset about it. And as long as I had a good chase, it doesn't matter who camps me. However, I rarely get facecamped, maybe that's why it bothers me less.

It's...weird to me. He's not a strong killer (Huntress and Slinger are way scarier).

About all I can think of is that Tricksters are often insanely toxic - but that's way more true of Bubbas and Doctors.

    Is there something I'm missing?

Yes, he is not strong, that's true. It's not the concept of the killer itself that I don't like either. It's more the way most people play the trickster that annoys me. Face camping, proximity camping and tunneling. Same goes for huntress.

Most of my points have already been raised but I'd like to take a moment to remind everyone that strength and fun are not mutually exclusive. Good point.

Not really sure how playing vs a bubba and being camped is fun

Bubba and Hillbilly are the most fun killers to play against. If u know how to play bubba, u are even better at playing against him. Most bubbas I meet are bad or mediocre. Ive got a very good map knowledge and I know all his weaknesses. I also abuse those loops which are tricky to chainsaw around and I know that invisible hitboxes which can easily cause a tantrum. So I know how to juke an average bubba for at least 3-5 mins, (depending on RNG ofc). If the bubba catches me and decides to camp my butt, I wont be that little crybaby opening the next discussion about meanie bubbas.

And those very skilled bubba main players I meet in 1/20 matches never facecamped me. They dont need to. For me, being facecamped is an indication that I played well. And if I made a mistake and go down after a 10 second chase like my average teammates , I don't deserve it better. Btw most of my Bubbas don't camp, surprise surprise...

    2. Get on a chase.

    3. Put crows in a loop, watch the survivor leave, you'll be able to catch him cuz you're faster.

    4. Watch the injured survivor go to another loop.

    11. Repeat .....

    12. Repea....

    13. Re....

    14.

    15. Are you still holding " W " my love?

Playing artist makes me want to explode, no wonder she is one of the least played killers.

She is not fun, seek treatment.

The Artist is the only range attack killer I enjoy playing (since Deathslinger was nerfed). I also enjoy playing against her as survivor, but I rarely encounter her. I don't understand why so many people don't like her. I mean of course everyone has their own opinion. If you have some experience with her, you can very well snipe survivors by predicting their movement. She has a good chase potential like PH, but she's nowhere near as strong as Blight or Nurse. Otherwise a lot more people would play her.

  • DBD players will always complain about almost everything. If Im playing survivor and juke the killer for 3-5 gens, they will harrass me and tell me how bad I am for using meta perks. Same thing happens when I play Killer. So it doesn't matter which side you play on. People will always get mad when they lose in a video game. I can't stand this us vs them bullshit on the forums tbh. I wish people would play both sides just to realize how bad the balancing is.

Why did we receive the recent Legion buffs and slight nerfs to COH and Boil Over? It's because survivor queues kept increasing because nobody wanted to bother playing the dreadful and stressful killer role. Then the devs were like "oh damn we need killers to even have dbd". So they provided some slight buffs and nerfs to attract killer players back, but it certainly wasn't enough lol. Trust me if you want the game to be balanced and fair, just stop playing killer, when survivor queue times increase, only then will the devs be forced to balance their game and make it more fair.

I would never stop playing killer. When I get fed up with the Solo Q, I switch to the killer role. If I only get Genrush-Chuck-Norris-Death-Squads I'll go back to survivor. And sometimes I take a break and play civilization to calm down or hang around in the forums...... Yes, I had some bad matches recently.

I've literally just done my microeconomics final (markets and business behaviour) which is a third of the full qualification, so I assume this constitutes as me having studied economics.

In the short term, assuming rational consumer behaviour, yes. For the long run this strategy could lead to fewer cosmetic purchases overall, however, as a large portion of the market are excluded, and irrational consumer behaviour happens basically constantly.

As BHVR currently hold monopoly power within the market (and, though I can only assume this, probably are a monopoly) then they can afford to do this currently because there are no viable alternatives and the market is incredibly far from being competitive. Though, for the long term goals (which I assume they're playing for by the Anniversary stream) appealing to every consumer is ideal to ensure maximal utility

Not in terms of Feng Min cosmetics. It's all about supply and demand. As long as people buy these cosmetics, there is no oversaturation.

Actually no, there is. Because consumers have different demands, if your product isn't incredibly niche you should attempt to target towards all of them. Rational consumer behaviour dictates that they will demand what they are willing to and able to consume, however consumers do not act rationally, and when they are ignored in favour of others they will begin to feel annoyed as their demands are not being met in favour of others.

So while from a firm's point of view, constantly adding more outfits for popular characters and ignoring the unpopular ones makes perfect sense for maximising short-run supernormal profits, in the long-run it may harm their business further as people will be far less willing to demand cosmetics for other characters knowing they will simply be ignored in future, harming revenue and thus profits.

The joys of irrational consumer behaviour.

To be honest, I have no idea which economic strategy is the best. I also lack data and numbers on which characters are the most popular and whose cosmetics are the best-sellers.

In order to be able to judge that and to be able to assess the long-term consequences, I would have to have studied economics. From my amateur perspective, it makes sense to prioritize the most popular characters to maximize profits.

Nevertheless, I would also be happy about cosmetics from other characters like Jeff or Adam for example. As long as they look good, I don't really care about the character.

With respect, Artist and Billy are not "underrated underdogs". Low play rate =/= bad. They're strong killers, even in high MMR, if played correctly.

I actually totally agree with you. I phrased it badly. Artists and Billy are underrated for me because many do not recognize their potential. Billy is still not as weak as many think. He's just clunky to play. They are underdogs for me because (unfortunately) I rarely meet them.

I don’t understand the logic on this one and I hope someone, perhaps a dev, can explain it to me. Why nerf boons totally into the ground and then give a free perk to destroy them permanently when the perk is so easily detectable? I literally see nobody using boons, except the 1 out of 10 matches you might see Circle of Healing. The one time I remember seeing the perk, I didn't even run across the map to find it because it is such a waste of time.

Do devs literally listen to everything and do everything killers want with total disregard to balance and normal thought processes?

And now to the Dredge.  He is overpowered and if he doesn’t get nerfs survivors will not have a chance to win unless the player using him is braindead.  He has powerful map pressure with instant teleporting across the map to any locker, and he has anti-loop. I repeat…this is NOT balanced!

We desperately need to get away from this thinking that killer is only fun if they can squash the survivors with no chance at all for them to win.

If we are going to start having anti-loop, all-knowing, all-map pressure “monsters” in the game, survivors NEED more than a singular pallet in the middle of a field. I am going to go out on the limb and say we need to start looking at more tools for survivors to defend against the monster. We need to get real, if monsters are in the game, we need guns or knives, something that can stall the killer.

Either provide survivors more abilities to fend off the killer or stop with the anti-loop, all-knowing, everywhere map pressure killers.

Disclaimer: I play and have played both sides.

Dear Sluzzy, for you almost every killer is OP except Nurse and Hillbilly. What happened to the 2019 Sluzzy who protested the Nurse rework when the old Nurse was the only thing in DBD I would definitely call OP?

  • Anyone who still thinks Sprint Burst is better or as good as Dead Hard hasn't played through DBD yet.

  • I actually like to play almost all killers. My current favorites are Wraith (main), Doc, Artist and Memesis :3

because i cant go back to playing with his old post-cloak lunge, i just cant

    Unpopular Opinion:

Wraith is my main and Im fine with the last nerf! I've been playing him since 2017 when he was really weak. He wasn't OP before the last nerf, but he's still viable. The only thing that has changed is that I almost always have Swift Hunt with me and I have to do more body blocking with him. My success rate is almost unchanged. I can take on the toughest sweat groups with him without stressing myself because Wraith is relatively easy to play compared to other killers.

In retrospect, I'm even happy about the nerf for two reasons:

    1. Every noob killer played him and he was a noobstomper. In Solo Q I've seen him in 80% of my matches for a while... it was annoying. He had the same pick rate like reworked Freddy. And I personally like to play the underrated underdogs like Doc, Artist, Billy, Old Freddy, Myers or Sadako
    2. The nerf wasn't that hard given what they did to Deathslinger. So I hope they will never touch my Wraith again.

True, you know what? Why not give Blight another really good add-on that gives him 64 more rushes and a flamethrower.

Only if Nemesis finally gets his rocket launcher.

I don’t think they have actually deployed a new version..

but it has been confirmed by a dev that the Dredges glowiness is a bug (he is supposed to glow a little bit during nightfall but not this bright) and the darkness from survivor perspective is supposed to be a little bit higher than it is on the ptb

    Thx for the information (:

Please, don't exaggerate like that. Nobody actually expects that of the killer.

The problem with being tunneled out of the game, especially early, is that it's just not fun. It's not worth queuing up and it's not worth waiting. It happening once is easy to brush off. It happening upwards of 10 games in a row? Not so easy to brush off.

Play how you want and all that, just don't expect survivors to be jumping for joy at the prospect of being tunneled out of the game so the killer can have an easy 3v1.

Actually it's no joke. I have met many survivors who share this definition of tunneling.

  • After hooking a survivor for the first time you are not allowed to chase him again unless 5 gens are done and unless every other survivor has been hooked one time. Otherwise you are a meanie tunneler.
