Just curious don’t need to make it an us vs them thing. I play survivor to and tried it and didn’t see to much synergy together.
People use that trite cliche all the time but it really doesn’t mean much. The nature of DbD is divisive; it is an asymmetrical game with two sides that have fundamentally opposed goals. That creates two camps and there is no way around it. Even if you play both sides—like most players—you’re going to prefer one role over the other and/or come to believe that one role is underpowered.
To your question, those perks have synergy and if you search Dramaturgy Finesse on YouTube you’ll see how. You said you saw two different players using this combination—presumably as killer—but you didn’t find synergy when you tried it. What did you notice about them?Long story short, they allow survivors to greed more efficiently and can make killers whiff hits as they’re an unpredictable combination. Killers can’t easily time a hit against them unlike with other exhaustion perks or resilience, etc.

I mean am sure these killer players know why, but they refuse to just admit it. If patch 6.1 to now seem to not give them any hints, what else can we say?
I’ve only ever seen this argument leveled against survivors from killers. Interestingly, when survivors complain about things like tunneling and camping the argument is that the fun of survivors is not the killer’s responsibility. However! I never see this argument when killers complain about things like sabo squads (I haven’t seen one in years), flashlights, or I guess teabagging. At that point it’s let treat this with the seriousness it deserves. If someone dare says the fun of killers is not the survivor’s responsibility they are derided and/or black-balled by the forum killer mains here. It’s curious.
-
Nobody tell him. It’ll be the next thing forum killers complain about.

Unfortunately you may have heard the community mantra of "your fun isn't my responsibility." Many players don't care about how their actions affect the enjoyment of others.
I’d like to point out that this enduring philosophy as told by DBD killer mains only applies from killer to survivor. It does not work with survivor to killer or survivor to survivor. Survivors are responsible, somehow, for the fun of killers and survivors are also responsible for their own fun. The only people not responsible for anyone’s fun but their own are killers.

tbf, personally i think its the most balanced because it sucks as both killer and survivor pretty evenly.
also colorblind tho
Like the other person said I like it for Stealth Killers. Love it as Myers and Hag, personally. I don’t mind it as survivor but it definitely has some strange loop set ups so I can see why you wouldn’t
-
Color blindness aside…
Isn’t Toba Landing considered one of if not the most balanced map in the game? -

is that normal for the forums to ban people who make semi decent points w/o breaking rules to get banned here or is there just a "report people i dont like until they get banned" issue? cause looking at old posts it looks like that happens a lot.
He did break a rule: He admitted he griefs by waiting for servers to shut down to secure a 4K. He might get away with this in game but the moderators heavily prowl these forums so admitting that he breaks rules isn’t something he’ll get away with here.

Wouldn't that make 5 seconds more valuable now for survivors?
I know that I find DS creates a hell of a lot of space still. Very rarely do I get caught after using it unless I make a mistake or they're on Blight or Nurse.
It was more valuable before because hook spawn logic was worse so survivors had to be slugged else the killer risked them wriggling free. Paired with Unbreakable, as DS often was back then, it put killers in losing situations because when those survivors got up they also had better loops as maps were much more forgiving for survivors. Maps are worse for survivors now, more hooks spawn and they spawn closer together, and most killers aren’t really affected by a 2.5 second stun now as they have strong catch up mechanics—paired with the other features I’ve mentioned. DS itself is less valuable because so much that helped bring it value before has changed (maps, killer mobility, hook spawning, etc). That was Aven’s point.
-
She’s A tier. A solid, oppressive anti-loop killer even with the bugs. I don’t see any reason to nerf her yet. But she should definitely be watched.

I am beyond myself with gratitude. 💐💐💐
Sincerely, I love horror. I love this game. And I love this community. I’ve always found a home in the horror genre- I’m sure many of us can relate. For one reason or another we are all here enjoying this game together.

I’m a huge fan of being the change you want to see. The above people have demonstrated a willingness to be that change while remaining their authentic selves. I see Dbd reflected in every single person listed and on this forum. These people will give you the best that they have to offer. Why not match that passion and be the change you want the dbd community to become? Why not? It can happen. They can help you get there.
I wanted to thank @For_The_People for being the first person from the forums that I’ve ever played Dbd with. He is a very sweet person who will give you his time of day in earnest if you need him to. He’s one of the prime examples of politeness in this community. Thank you for being a positive force in the community. 😊😊😊
Lastly I need to thank @solarjin1 . What can I say? When you meet a friend that gets you, you both just know it. Her courage to be funny and humorous is so infectious. She told me that the small pallet in rpd was the most op pallet. I was so naive of game knowledge that I believed her! LMAO! After that I realized that it was anything goes when it came to humor with her. I’m at my best when I can be silly. Solarjin1 is that friend who brings out the best in me. Thank you Solarjin1 for all the laughs and for the laughs to come 😂 I’m going to be collecting🤣🤣🤣
None of this would be possible if we didn’t have a phenomenal community team here to support us discussing this twisted hobby we all have. Thank you again to everyone at Bhvr for putting your hearts and souls (ha!) into everything that is Dbd.

Invocation: Just hook me!
60 seconds, permabroken, but you can recover from the dying state for the rest of the trial.
So No Mither with more steps. Maybe they’ll call it extra hard mode.

It was actually abused, survivors were bringing flashlight and using any means they could to prevent killer hooking. Which meant they had to slug then unbreakable would kick in so couldn't slug or hook. That's why slugging was still horrid, survivors were trying to be slugged knowing they can just get back up.
I played that PTB. What I observed were lethal killers downing people super fast and when the fourth went down the other three were auto-sacrificed while the fourth was mori’d. Matches were ending in 5 minutes. Perhaps it was scrapped for both reasons.

I'm not saying what is fair or not fair. That's an incredibly subjective judgment and everyone has a different opinion or definition of what is "fair". The devs' definition of "fair" for this game is a 60% kill rate, for what it's worth. That's what they are aiming for with the game balance. Sorry you don't like it.
I'm telling you what happens when the average kill rate goes lower than what it's currently at (to be more "fair" in your view). The game becomes more difficult and unfun for killer players, especially against SWF teams which at higher skill levels already have a 50% or better escape rate, so killer players either switch to survivor role or they don't play at all. This isn't just my opinion - it has happened several times in the game's history.
The devs do not call a 60-40 split fair. They’ve said it’s killer sided and that is intended.
-
@ChuckingWong said:
Dont know. Game has turned into "hope the killer is stupid" in order for a game to actually last any duration and any POSSIBILITY of an escape.
Just the reality of things now. And all these silly killer updates that are completely unnecssary have just been reinforcing this idea.
We cant even get a solution to tunneling but we have to take a hook state and get exposed for it. Tunneling should flat out not be a thing in this game. Not put a perk into the game, that you cant have any coordination or use in SoloQ for.BHVR couldn’t even give Decisive Strike—the premier anti-tunneling perk—5 seconds—2 of which are the animation. Killer mains complained so much they reverted the negligible buff it was going to get and effectively wasted everyone’s time.

Just seeing this worries me about what's going to happen with plague and pinhead and possibly other killers people don't like going against
Plague is considered balanced I think, she shouldn’t be as fast as she is given her power and the add-on that reveals auras every time a survivor coughs is really strong but beyond that I haven’t seen many people complain about her. Cenobyte has been nerfed within the last 2 years so I think he’s fine as well. And both killers are pretty rare to face with low pick rates. Chucky was more common, popular, and created lose-lose scenarios that neither Plague nor Cenobyte create.

This is a really painful achievement, anything that depends on luck is painful.
Secondly is re-booning the same totem a killer already stomped out, at that point you may as well just sit on a gen as it is more productive than wasting time boonin a totem a killer will almost certainly stomp out again in seconds.
Why was the first tip about totem location ?
It wastes considerable time blessing a totem (especially a hex), having it snuffed then searching for another totem to bless. I think people strategically placing totems—as in after they’ve completed a gen—can be fine.
-
I wonder if they’ll come up with another perk to address it (a la Unbreakable, No Mither, Exponential) like they’ve done for tunneling, which is still a problem.

Anyone can feel any way, it's not possible to balance a game based on how everyone feels about something because it's not an objective thing to be measured.
Objectively, it is part of the strategy for both sides and there is nothing wrong with the current implementation of hatch except a few people's entitled feels.
If you give up hatch as a killer, that's on you. If you don't get it as survivor, that's on you.
The only thing I -might- change would be how and where it spawns since that's entirely RNG. Maybe making it spawn in a place equal distance as possible between a killer and survivor would be interesting for a PTB experiment.
It wouldn’t work at equal distance. The killer is like 70% faster than the survivor (maybe more? Someone do the math) so they’d always reach it before the survivor could, even if they’re equal distances away from the hatch.

more enjoyable for survivors who don’t have to deal with lose/lose situations because he was overtuned.

Toba is so not balanced. There are filler pallets everywhere.
You’re playing a different game.
-
It’s just the nature of the game. Shoulder the Burden isn’t great and there are better anti-tunneling perks out there for solo queue players especially. Once the uncertainty of its performance wears off and more people experience how situational and bad the perk is, the targeting will stop. I don’t even see people using it as solo queue (too unpredictable and a waste) or SWF (don’t need it as we can coordinate anti-tunneling).
-
As a disincentive for survivors to run them. BHVR knows these are killer perks. They’ve done everything possible to reinforce that into survivors.

I like the new map because it feels really balanced overall: the map is more open but also has decent line of sight blockers which is good for both sides, it has a good mix of pallets and nothing feels too strong or weak, the map has a good size (big but not too big). The map feels really balanced but also unique: Nostromo and Tobalanding are balanced map too but have a similar structur than old maps. The new one feels more really unique due to its little underground, tubes, and holes that makes the map more intresting. The only thing I don't like is that scratch marks a bit difficult to see but the other Ormond has a similar issue because bright red on white snow is sometimes difficult to track - but accessibility has always a low priority, I guess.
But overall, a very good balanced and unique map. Hope we will see more of them and whatever team created it, deserve a big thumbs up.
Nostromo has a lot of dead zones. In fact at least one corner of the map is a giant dead zone. Toba is balanced though

Although I am sorry you got a handful of toxic killers. Its not fun when you are trying to see what a new map is all about for the first time especially if you didnt play the PTB.
isn’t this true for ‘teabagging’ as well? At least based on what teabagging as a mature act really is.

I remember that. It’s the only BP-giving perk that’s been nerfed to lose both its BP and has had a numbers change that didn’t receive a compensation. The devs literally just took away the BP and made it a worse version of itself. Lmao

If the queues is faster for killer than survivor, it would mean there's not enough killers to meet demand for that region and MMR bracket. Sounds like the incentives are off.
Devs confirmed not long ago the incentives are accurate. Idk. Maybe they lied or something but Mandy confirmed they’re working as intended quite recently

Back on topic she has gotten nerfs honestly, the biggest one was her blink is consider a special attack so she cant use expose builds like star struck and noed like all other killers can and why I say so is ofc her 3.8 speed. Some of her add ons I believe the range ones was nerfed too?
I accept nurse oddly cause they either very bad or very good and ngl doing well even vs a good nurse feels satisfying for me.
I find it wierd that even killer players want nurse nerf or change but gets mad if any other killer is complaint about.
I can think up five other killers I dislike facing more than Nurse. Tbh I’d probably take Nurse over 2/3rds of the killer roster.

IIn Increase in survivor wait times would mean there's MORE people waiting to play survivor, not less.
Every game also requires 4 people queueing as survivor which should factor in to queue times as well. This could explain why the incentive is on survivor but the queue is fast for killer.
-
It’s something I’ve noticed as well as a gradual change over like the past year. Very curious.
-
So when you queued as survivor and faced that over and over again… did you have fun? Did you enjoy your matches? How strongly were your compulsions to just go next?
It’s interesting when a killer main steps into the shoes of survivors and learns just how horrid this game really can be for survivors.

The Devs aren't changing it. Time to let it go.

What was the last survivor perk issue that was on the same level as TotH? MFT, I guess? And even that wasnt as bad as everyone made it out to be*. I can't remember tbh what would be the survivor equivalent that you're talking about. Please assist!
If you go by killer complaints it’s either Distortion or Windows of Opportunity. They’re no where near as strong as TotH but both of those perks have drawn a similar level of ire from the opposing side.
-
Sometimes you’re bullied or mistreated for your character selection but there are also times where you’re treated fondly because of it, and there are yet still times where it makes no difference at all. Out of dozens of matches I’m sure this is probably the only one where a killer said anything like that to you. I wouldn’t sweat it in your situation.
-
Killer is the strongest it’s ever been, and it absolutely outclasses survivor in terms of strength, currently. The game is set up so that you win 60% of your matches as killer.
Perhaps you need to improve your personal skill or fall to a an MMR level suitable for your current skill.

Since this comes up often right now, saying "counterforce is the answer/counter to thrill" is basically just disingenuous. It barely makes a dent. And by the time you have enough stacks to notice any difference, you've cleansed probably 4 totems and thrill has gotten a gens worth of time out of you.
It doesn't "counter" as much as "barely mitigates the tremendous impact that thrill has currently".
Thank the entity they're addressing this soon though.
And CF value in a TotH scenario predicates on the killer not using Pentimento, Undying, Haunted Grounds, Face the Darkness, and pretty much every other hex perk.

Thats fine as long as they are forced to play the game.
They will not. It is not tough to find the killer, strategically interrupt what they are doing, and end up hooked. No killer is going to resist killing a survivor. The 4K is just too tantalizing. It bewitches you.
-
@Brimp said:
Nah we should get this ASAP. Getting out early to circumvent the DC penalty… yeah. At least with it gone they are forced to play in the trial and if they do certain actions (like body block teammates in corners) it can be considered as griefing. I wish it was the same for just running to the killer to get out faster but I would consider it more of a gray zone.
You can’t prove intent so survivors can still be downed and hooked by killers and move on to their next match. :) Now patch that out.

Syringes are pretty easy to use, you just predrop for ~24 seconds and then you heal a health state. That, or, pop it and get on a gen for an essentially zero-time heal. I think they should give an instant 50% unregressable heal instead of passively healing you, and make it only consume the addon instead of the whole medkit.
I think the examples you listed aren't great considering that all of them got nerfs to make them significantly less effective (although I'm not sure how Myers addons currently stand since their nerf was recent). There's only a handful of ultra rares left that are genuinely overpowered, imo. Stuff like Engineer's Fang (yes, even after the nerf), Black Incense, Iri Uroburos Vial, stuff like that.
Myer’s add-ons were just changed so I feel it’s still a pretty relevant example. The point is that it was super impactful, they were literally the old Moris that let you completely bypass hook states to kill survivors on first down. Syringes were also nerfed although you may not be old enough to remember. They used to be an instant heal with no delay.

Im really getting into survivor right now and im not starting at shack. I know how simple it is to play and focus on other structures.
Sounds like you are ahead of the curve. For most survivors shack is where good looping (by which I mean mind gaming) starts because it’s relatively easier to mind game there versus a T-L, Z, 3-pillar, etc structure. And even against anti-loop killers shack is typically safe, which makes it easier for survivors to build their looping confidence.
