  • Two problems with getting tunneled:

1st: Sometimes Survivors decide to unhook you 2 seconds after you got hooked. Mostly for WGLF (terrible Perk..). It is not the Killers fault at this point, when the Survivor cannot wait until the Killers gone, its his fault.

2nd: If someone unhooks you and simply hides as soon as possible, leaving you as the only target for the Killer, he has a good "excuse" to go after you. So when unhooking someone, dont disappear and let the unhooked person get the Aggro again.

Ofcourse sometimes if both of those things get avoided, the Killer simply want to go after you, because you are either the Injured one, or an easier target, because he has a quick chase. But that is also not the Killers fault.

And, tbh - it does not happen as often as people are saying. I play almost Survivor Only, and the games that I get tunneled are not that common, and I am not really good at chases.

Besides that, the only issue I have with the new Prove Thyself is, that it can be very good for organized SWF, but not as effective for Solo players. If I would use Prove Thyself and I am working on a Gen with another Survivor running it, one of us has a useless Perk at this point. Or, I can simply work alone on a Gen and Prove Thyself does nothing. Or, I need to run Bond, to make it effective. All of those things an organized SWF does not have.
But I think with those, there are other areas where actions should be taken.

You should read the description for Prove Thyself again because it seems like you don't really understand how it works. If you have Prove Thyself and work with someone else, you get 10% bonus speed. If the other person also has Prove Thyself, they also get 10% bonus speed. If a 3rd Survivor with prove thyself works on that gen, everyone gets a 20% repair speed boost.

That's the MAIN issue. It's a perk that promotes gen rush and it's a perk that can be used at it's full potential mainly by coordinated SWFs - something that's already imbalanced and hard to deal with while it's pretty much useless for solos.

    Well done!

Am I stupid or are you stupid?
"Survivors can only be affected by one Prove Thyself effect at a time."

  • Got insulted by a Streamer for saying "gg". He was going like it was meant like "gg ez"... No Dude, I died on the hook, you just played well... Sorry for being friendly.

    Use Discordance.

Seriously, whenever a Survivor complains about NOED, people are telling him to cleanse the Totems (which is correct) and to run Small Game.

And now Discordance, which would be the Counter to Prove Thyself, is ignored?

Survivors are able to REMOVE NOED, by cleansing the totem.
Discordance is a band aid at best because it only removes one Survivor out of four from a gen rush. Plus all Survivors can just split up, making the perk worthless.

And if all Survivors Split up, that would make Prove Thyself worthless...

People will probably not run it for a longer period.

It does not make it worthless because if one Survivor is looping the Killer, the other three can go back to gens. I agree that people might not use it enough to be meta, I am just annoyed that instead of fixing how quick games go by, they throw another band aid at this issue.

Yeah, but when you use Discordance, you would know that they are working on one Gen. And when they only do the Gens far away from you, they will split the map. Not saying that Discordance is an awesome Perk, but it is not that bad.

    Regarding the Time:
If I understand it correctly, the time is the same as before, they just corrected the time you need to spend on a Gen without using Prove Thyself.

Besides that, the only issue I have with the new Prove Thyself is, that it can be very good for organized SWF, but not as effective for Solo players. How about you just buy the DLC and shut up with the incessant complaint?

    ^ this.

It is 4 Euros. When on Discount it is around 2,50 or something. Should be fine for one of the best perks in the game.

  • Well, and then it can be possible that you bug in that way, that everytime when the Trapper swings his weapon, you launch into the air. Happened to me once, the Killer had so much fun with throwing me up the air by simply swinging his weapon...

  • People really need to stop thinking that extremes are common. Yes, there are games where Gens are done in 5 Minutes. But there are also games where the team falls apart in even less time. This does not mean that this is the rule, it is more the exception.
The last time I remember where I was a Survivor who gen-rushed a Killer was, when the Killer decided to facecamp the first survivor he found. And that is not the Survivors fault that Gens are going quick at this point.

I mean, I also had a game where a Leatherface completely dominated the Team. But that does not mean that he is OP and needs to be nerfed...

  • Are you sure that this happened recently?
Because if I remember correctly, Botany Knowledge did not affect the "Snap out of it"-Option, and I had it equipped until yesterday.
    (All post-2.4.0. obviously)

When the game tells you who you're up against in the loading screen (not 100% of the time, but it still happens), some people might quit because of that.

Isnt this only the case for new players? I know that I got this messages a lot during my early games. And when Legion came out.

  • I dont disconnect when I see certain offerings or Maps.

But I know that some players simply DC when they, for example, see the Game Offering thrown in by the killer. I can understand it to a certain degree, but only to the point that I can understand that it is annoying to play vs Doctor or Hag on "The Game", with a specific build. Though, I would never DC because of this.

Also, regarding Moris, the same. And Black Ward simply can mean that you have to go vs a Huntress with Insta-Downs, or a Spirit without Phasing-Sound, or a Legion with Franks Mixtape.

Maybe people who do this had a rough evening, and when you see a Mori you simply do not want to get stressed even more. Who knows.

But I would say, by far the most of them are unintentional crashes.

  • Tbh it is completely fine to not have this perk in the Shrine. I mean, when on Discount, the Leatherface-DLC costs around 2 Euros. Should be ok for one of the best perks in the game.

  • Sometimes the game crashes, sometimes it simply does not load. I am mostly playing SWF with one friend of mine, and he sometimes has the problem that the game does not load at all. The Loading Screen is working, but the bar is not filling at all. When this is happening, my bar is filling for like 1cm and his does not do anything.

When he closes DBD, the game is loading normally. This happens to other people, so there you have your 3v1 games. I even had some 2v1 games lately, even though those are done quite fast (basically, searching for the Killer, if he lets us farm, good, if not, also good, no reason to waste time in a game which is impossible to win).

And well... Sometimes offerings are the reason. Moris, certain maps and Black Wards are some reasons while people do not want to play this game.

Nothing to be done about that, I think. Maybe with Dedicated Servers it would be possible to let a forth person in the queue join, but I dont know about that.

The most evil one I've seen is Leader, Prove Thyself, Streetwise and Bond with BNP's and the top tier TB with fast repair addons.

nothing personal, kid, but Leader does not provide faster repair speed (according to wiki, picture below), although yes, it is enabled for some reason when I am doing gens and a leader approaches, bug?

and Bond, nothing to do with repairing fast

How can you call other people "kid", when you are even wrong?

The current Leader (pre 2.5.0) does provide a bonus to repairing, 9%, to be exact. Just scroll a little bit down on the gamepedia-Page.

Is the RNG for maps broken?

    Would second that.

Before the last Patch I had this map nearly never. After the patch I have it quite often. Not so many times ina row, but especially Rotten Fields is a map that I get more often than before.

For me it is an example of an early map, because it fits lorewise, but the gameplay for this map was not really thought through at this point. I am a Survivor Main, but I dislike this map. And I can understand, why killers dont like it either.

  • The other offerings were cheaper, but did not guarantee the map you want to choose. I mean, of course you can use an offering which reduces the chance to land on a certain map a tiny little bit.

But a) this would not guarantee the map and b) you would have tons of those in your Bloodwebs, making the Grind even longer.

  • It is a nice perk, but it is not broken and has its flaws. Freddy is one of them, but well... Who cares? It is one killer out of 14 who can get rid of the Tokens very easy.
Nurse Calling is another one... If you use Self-Care, you will quickly burn out of Token, if you stay at your spot. If you heal or get healed, your Distortion will work, however the other person is visible.

But the perk is ok. The time is also good, I mean, 10 Seconds is more than enough to avoid something like BBQ.

I tested the perk, but I would not consider using him for a longer time, but it is one of those perks, which can be used.

  • I would not compare him to Freddy. Freddy is just really, really weak, even though you can still do good with him. Legion is simply stupid with his ability and the killer, where many people do not have any fun at all to play against. At least this is what I can read/see from various sources.

Personally I also do not think that Legion needs to be reworked, but there should be some form of penalty when he misses his swings during Frenzy. Because it is idiotproofed to hit with him.

Also, I do not get, why people are so upset about Leatherface. He is not a Top Tier-Killer, but he is not THAT bad. Maybe it is because he gets compared to Hillbilly too much? If Hillbilly does not exist, I would say that Leatherface would look better.

  • The licensed Killers cannot be bought by using Shards. It is way harder to get the permission to give them away for free, since it is not only the decision of the developers/Publishers.

  • Really Dude?

This is like the 4th account you did to raise awareness for your "issue". Get a life.

  • If you were 4 Survivors, 7 gens in total should have spawned.

  • No. It was your team who messed up the Gens. That can happen on some maps so that the last 3 Gens are close to each other.

The killer patrolling them and damaging them is part of their gameplay. If those Gens are close to each other because the Gens far away already have been done, it is not the Killers fault.

  • If a Legion-player is following you with his 110% Movement Speed and going into Frenzy too early, you can try to dodge the hits or try to get as far away as possible. If he is not messing up like that, there is no real counterplay. You need to try to be as far away as possible from him.

Once he is in his ability, he can simply smack multiple people and go for one of them. And he will get this guy, even without Franks Mixtape, it will take some time, but there is no real way to avoid this.

Which makes it the most stupid killer. And the easiest one.

    "Traps have collision".

What's there not to understand? That is literally the answer to your question. Both the Trap and the Phantasm have collision, it's intended.

I am not asking if it is intentional that they have collision, I was asking if it is intentional to block paths with it.
Or, to use your nice words "What's there not to understand? "....

Really, I was just asking, not complaining.

Considering Hag loses her ability to teleport with that add on, I'd say this is more than fair.

I did not mean that it was unfair. Just that this would make it unable to avoid those traps via crouching. But considering another mechanic gets negated by that (the teleport), it is fair.

Just was curious, which was the reason I asked about that.

Thank you for all the answers!

  • I only had two Traps on my head in one match for two times until now. And both times the exact same box helped me to get rid of it.

  • Yes, this also happened to me one time. Got hooked right next to the hatch, had a red key. Got unhooked, tried to open the hatch, but there was no option.

To be honest, why not simply change it that way that only the Obsession has DS and the other 3 do not have it, even when they run the perk. It is simply not activated.

They already said that they don't like this idea. It looks bad from the game's perspective.

    Good to know.
Understandable that they want to avoid a perk which might be useless the entire game. But there are already a lot of perks out there, which are used but do not come into play... e.g. Deliverance when you do not unhook someone, it is a wasted Perk Slot. Even applies to very good perks like Balanced Landing, when the map is bad or Adrenaline, when you die before all the gens are done...

    But well, I understand that.

  • To be honest, why not simply change it that way that only the Obsession has DS and the other 3 do not have it, even when they run the perk. It is simply not activated.

This would basically be the same, but would not encourage a playstyle which is simply not enjoyable to anyone. (You can think about combining it with the other perks to raise your chance of being Obsession, but honestly the only other perk run is Object of Obsession and this mostly to ######### up Killers... so probably not a good idea).

Personally I would like to make DS a Token-Perk...

  • @Vietfox said:
I would rather have the current version since i don't run selfcare...

If I understand this right, you will then not be affected, because it only applies when you have Self-Care as a perk. So without Self-Care you would still heal for 100%.

Personally, I do not like the change. I feel it should be preferred to get healed by others. I mean, if someone else is using Leader next to me I can heal myself faster than he would do...

Self-Care is fine as it is, I hope this change does not go live.

. It exists to keep the killer from taking you to the basement every time.

That is all what needs to be said about this topic. Wiggle is not supposed to be an guaranteed escape, it should just prevent the killer from hooking everyone in the basement.

  • @IamFran said:
Is there someone so stupidly stupid to believe that scam?
If it's the case, Darwin laws are not working.

I mean, lets say you have potentially 10.000 people seeing those posts. If only 10 of those fall for it, you will have a good amount of money. The sucess-rate is 0,1%, but still you can make money with it.

You just need to find the stupid people.

  • They are bots. I doubt that it is worth to know what they are writing.

  • I think getting of the hook on your own is enough.

Also, when you get this skill check right after your second hook (because this is when the struggling starts), the killer would be nearby anyway... And it would result in you being hooked the third time, which makes it easier for the killer to eliminate one Survivor.

  • And now?
Do you want to cuddle because of those bad words?

Simply, ignore them and move on. btw. is it kinda childish to go like "You used DS, so I facecamp you"..."Mooooom! He hit me first".

  • You should not underestimate Botany Knowledge. It gives you a 33% increased healing speed which makes Self Care heal you in around 20 seconds. Not bad, I would say. (Though there are stronger perks in the game, but still, it is not a bad perk... Neither is Empathy, tbh)

  • The problem, as mentioned, is that this would result to metas. Even now you see many Claudettes, Neas and Megs (in general female characters have a better camo). But lets say you would give Kate a unique ability, which is better than the unique ability of all other survivors (even when it is only a little bit better). That would result in 4 man Kate-Survivor Teams or at least an increase of playing her.

And honestly - I feel that the variety is great. You can run every character you like and you can customize many of them. Some people even spend money on skins to customize their character, and when they differ and their character is not as good as others, they would either need to play with a "bad" survivor, or need to switch.
And this would happen even with minor advantages, because aside from Camouflage, every survivor is 100% the same. They all can have the same perks, they all repair/heal/sabotage/etc. the same and so on. So even a minor advantage of one survivor over another can create a meta.
Some survivors even DC when they go against a certain killer. And I doubt that anyone wants to have killers who close lobbies, because they do not want to play vs 4 times the same survivor.

If you like to have your survivors more unique thats the way I go for it:
I use 3 perks which I like and then add one perk from the survivor to it. Which means that Dwight has 3 perks + Leader, Ace has 3 perks + Ace in the hole, and so on.
Of course this results in some characters being better and some being worse, but it gives a little bit of variety for me. You can even go further and use the 3 Character perks + a fourth perk of your choice.

But adding differences between the survivors would not be a good idea tbh.

  • @DarkGGhost said:

Nurse with 5 perks slots would be pretty much impossible to beat and a Billy with 5 or even Spirit with 5 would be broken.

First only killer will get 5 perks and second tell me the ultra combo nurse and bill ( the top tier killer) will have with 5 perks?

And why should only killers get 5 perks?

I mean... If you want to use certain perks, you have to do without other perks. Its the same, for killers and survivors.

  • Nobody wondering about Wraith? Wraith is the second to worst killer, only "beaten" by Freddy in that.

Once it is clear that you are facing a Wraith it makes him a M1-killer without any reasonably special ability.

  • The ritual is bugged and only Co-Op Actions which involve healing are counted.

  • Have her and used DS on her for a while. Original plan was to use every survivor with 3 perks that are good in my opinion and 1 Unique perk of this survivor, which would be DS for Laurie.

But honestly, I do not like DS at all, so I will not use it anymore. Will get her to P3 though.

  • Regarding Sole Survivor: I have once seen it used with Object of Obsession. The killer had no chance to get this guy for a long time and after that he camped him to death and hitted him all the time while on the hook.

For bad perks, I would go with Left Behind as the worst Perk for Survivors. I mean, either your team really sucked and you need to do at least one Gen or you simply search for the Hatch anyway. And this perk really only becomes useful when you are the last survivor.

  • Well, basically what you are asking for is, to make "playing bad" rewarding. I mean, everyone can get unlucky and be the first one found by the killer, hooked and then camped until the end. This can happen, but should not be the usual case. IF it becomes the usual case, said person is doing something wrong.

Also, it would not "fix" camping at all. If you black pip or pip during struggle will not help with the insidious Leatherface in the corner or the cloaked Wraith around your hook (both versions of camping where your proposal would also not change anything).

I mean, for me, struggling is fine. I have seen a Myers camping me at the hook while two Generators were done during that time. Or a Leatherface standing there, while my friend was looking for the hatch and was ready to escape. Both is fine to me, because in the end, the killer might end with 1 kill and nothing more.

  • Multiple things:

    • Unhooks when the Killer is nearby
    • Running away from the killer close to a hook so that no one can actually unhook the Survivor
    • Survivors who run into the direction where I am hiding so that the killer tries to get me and not them...
    • People on the hook who try to Escape and then simply die (or try to escape while survivor is nearby to get them...)
    • People removing Hex-Totems when there is no Hex active so they trigger Haunted Ground....
