  • I guess you just have to accept it that the Devs are lazy. Use Dead Hard. Because it is fun that every Survivor uses the same Perks.

  • You cannot really punish people because you dont know if they knew about the Bug or not. Happened to me two times yesterday (three times, when I count the situation where it happened on my Death Hook). Two out of three Killers did not know about that, one Killer said that its the Devs fault and not his (which indicates that he knew, but even that would not be a real proof).

What is frustrating: Even after unhooked you cannot see anything so you need to guess to get your way out of the Basement. And you cannot ######### on Hook, even when hooked the second time, the character will struggle, even if you dont press any button... And DCing is not an option because of the punishments.

What I have noticed: Hitting a DS Skill Check after getting picked up will let you leave the "Void".

Just because I wanted to mention it: Had a Killer yesterday who did not hook me at the Basement (I went down right next to it) but took me to a Hook which was further away. I could have wiggled free, but stopped doing it.

Would be nice if Killers would not hook people in the Basement until it is fixed and if Killers are avoiding a Basement Hook, it would be really nice of Survivors to not wiggle free because of it.

  • Freddy in itself is balanced. 3 things I have a problem with:

First and most: Slowdown-Builds. I dont think that he needs those, he is good without playing for massive Slowdown. It is highly annoying to face, while not being an increased challenge.

Second: Snares. They are good, better than Pallets. But I dont like the way some Freddys play, by not breaking the Pallets but in fact reverse bloodlusting the Survivor by slowing them down.

Third: Going to sleep after a Hit. Staying awake is better, but it does not matter if you went a longer way to get to your clock, when Freddy can put you into the Dream World by simply hitting you. But nothing that can be changed, since otherwise he would not really get to use his power.

But overall I think he is balanced, just a few Tweaks regarding his Slowdown.

Yeah it makes total sense thinking about this, due to two addons that increased mending times you do not change the 2 addons but instead change the applied status effect and give buffs to other perks. Why keep things simple when you can do stuff like that?

I honestly dont know. But it makes sense in a way that they also remove the possibility of using Sloppy Butcher with Feral Frenzy. There is also no other way to see the reduction of the Mending Timer when it is not meant to reduce the Slowdown-Potential. (They nerfed one of the Blades btw)

My assumption is that the thought process was to remove the Slowdown-Capability and in return to compensate for the Nerfs, increase the Mobility. I would not say that the other way around was the case, because even with this increased mobility, there would have been no need to nerf other aspects about Legion.

  • There is for once a Map that is not in bright daylight, and people complain.

  • They wrote a statement about this.

And honestly, even though I would have really loved to get the Huntress-Mask, for me it is fine. Event Cosmetics are not in risk of being subject of Scam like the Code-Cosmetics and the reason why they would have given out the Event Cosmetics is not existent anymore.

For me its logical to not go for one solution when another, better solution came up.

Moreso to get away from the killer, mended faster, and healed afterwards, which saves cumulative time, particularly if you're meeting at an objective.

I honestly refuse to believe that you can't see how this is a buff, given that the problem of having a limited time to find a safe place or friend to mend/heal is non-existent now.

Nah, I see it. But the amounts of time I went down because of the Deep Wound Timer is 0, or very close to 0.

When I went down after BT, it was only because the Killer still went for me. But not because of the Timer.

So from the experience I had in games, it does not change anything. Except that BT is half-useful vs Freddy.

I,too, see no difference in being able to sprint the entire duration of the map to a gen or unhook without being forced to mend until I get there (possibly by a teammate) as opposed to being forced to mend when I leave the killer's TR, risking him returning for a down.

Yeah, people will totally sprint the whole map to save 4 seconds of mending time.

I just don't see why they had to make his FF attack not work with perks. Despite all the backlash I've seen, they kept that ridiculous change.

    To stop the Slowdown-Potential.

Legion with one of the Blades, Thanatophobia, Butcher(+potentially Dying Light) could waste quite a good amount of time. Thing is: Meanwhile, Freddy can still have his insane Slowdown-Build, while he does not need it, but it was one of the best ways of playing Legion (not that he is strong with it).

While I agree that the best Build for a Killer should not be massive Slowdown, there should be other ways to get rid of it.

Nah, Haddonfield is fine. Only BL was the problem, the map itself is perfect for Killer now.

Will burn my 100 Haddonfield-Offerings during the next days to show that to the Killers.

Yeah might as well add that they reduced the mending time to 12 sec healing alone, but to 8 sec when healed by someone else. Yep that's not a buff right?

BT was already strong, and now it got two unneeded buffs.

This was not to buff BT, but to nerf Legions Slowdown-Potential. The BT-Buff is a side-effect, but not the aim of this.

  • Which is whatever, because usually you would have sprinted in the Terror Radius. And if someone wants to sprint to keep his Deep Wound, they cannot repair a Gen or do anything else except running.

But yeah, lets start with maximum outcry.

  • Ok, I have not clicked that, have to admit that.

Its fine for me, I would have loved to get the Huntress Mask, but whatever. Since they found a fix there is no need for what they were originally planning to do.

  • Was there any official announcement that they will not release the Event Cosmetics? Or did they just forget to move them to a place where every player will have it?

Because, if I am not mistaken, when they keep them stored where they originally where, people who lost it will still not get it back.

  • To be fair, the exclusive is not worth it since a few Chapters. The last one which was kinda special was Kates White Top, afterwards, the difference was REALLY minor.

  • Infectious Fright is a must, when he is released like on the PTB. Deerstalker is also really useful for that.

But I hope that those two Perks are not the go-to Perks for him, because this means that they did not change anything of his flawed gamedesign (Killers basically forced to slug to have an efficient use of the Power, by design).

The point of battlepasses be a side reward for playing every day, it's supposed to be something more for your average playtime and not having to play and grind like a mindless robot for 4 hours every day just to reach the end.

There is no satisfaction in grinding the tiers it's either commit and grind every day or don't buy it.

Meanwhile you did not play for a month. And still expect some reward?

The Rift is not grindy at all. You get Fragments by playing. You dont need to complete the Rift at all.

  • Honestly, there cannot be any other answer.

  • You are really trying to do everything so that Killers look worse than they are, dont you?

  • If killers would not be lobbydodging like little Babies, nobody would do a Quickswitch. I dont like it either, but I understand it.

Killer see the Survivors to prepare, not to dodge.

It's more than a few potatoes.... and as a solo survivor I'm tired of getting the obvious rank 15 survivors during the last week of the month.

Dont worry. With the new Rank Reset you will get them in the first week of the month.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Even with a 4k I often safety-pip because the emblem system punishes me for using the chainsaw. Meanwhile survivors get to double-pip even if they die. Sooo yeah... I agree that pipping/ranking up must be looked at.

You cant double-pip while Dying in Red Ranks. But I highly agree on the Chaser Emblem, getting punished as Hillbilly for using Chainsaw only almost all of the time (it is simply more fun) is annoying.

@topic: problem is that the Ranking System was harder when they changed it with the Plague-Chapter. And then there were almost no Red Rank Survivors so Killer Queues were horrible.

(And given the fact how ez Killers want to have their 4K when I read some posts here, they are happy about a few Potatoes in Red Ranks)

  • You can complete the Tome at any time. So even if the Rift closes, you will be able to complete the Tomw - you will not get any Rift Fragments tho.

  • I agree. Too easy and quickly done. I only had a problem with the 2 Unhooks in EGC, the rest was not too hard and doable in 3 weeks.

  • I dont mind teabaggers, but it is funny when they dont even have the gameplay to back it up... Teabagging, wanting to be chased and down in 10 seconds.

  • I think I get a farming Killer every 50 games at most.

Nothing I would see as a problem.

  • All of it if the Survivor does not hear the Pig breathing. She is kinda loud.

It may actually just be bugged.

I did the "heal yourself twice in a single match with self care" without ever healing myself. I was healed twice by teammates (because I forgot the challenge) yet somehow I guess it still counted.

I mean, yeah, it might be bugged, but there are other possibilities as well. Because for me, it worked perfectly fine, got it in my second game, where I hooked two people after EGC has started.

  • Did you also use NOED? For me it worked fine to complete the challenge.

  • Open Chests and saboing does nothing for the Emblems. Totems count towards Lightbringer. So you can end up with Iridescent Lightbringer and Iridescent Unbroken, which is not enough to Safety Pip.

You need to run in front of the Killer to get Points for Evader, but honestly, this should not be necessary (and cannot be done if the Killer is a Wraith or any other Stealth Killer who just wants to derank).

So yeah, there is no chance to do anything more and even if, nobody should be forced to run around the Killer the whole time, just to not depip.

  • I like the Challenges (have all of the Killer ones completed of Level 3) and I like the Rift (finished it).

But, if any changes, those would be some thoughts:

    Rift:

More Stuff in the free Track. If you exclude the Serum, it is really empty. This is fine, you need some motivation to buy the Premium Track. But either you can get Charms that you get in tne Premium Track as well, but later (like: Tier 20 in the Premium Track, Tier 55 in the Free Track) or some of the basic Store Cosmetics are in the Free Track. Maybe brown and yellow ones, not too many, but especially when the Rift is tied to a Tome with Characters, a few Claudette and Trapper Cosmetics would have been nice.

IF they plan to have Event Currencies as a constant addition to the Rift, this might be obsolete.

    Archives:

Like I said, I am fine with the Challenges, I really enjoy them. And it is not as grindy as it seems (e.g. I also play World of Tanks (not as much as I used to) and they have a Marathon to get a Tank for Free... But you would need to play 5 hours per day over 10 days to get it, IF you are an exceptionally skilled player. I would probably need like 8 hours per day, THIS is what I call a grind).

However, if there would be changes:

Possibly that there are two Challenges instead of one, one Survivor and one Killer so that people are not forced to play the other role if they dont like. Like you have Damage 40 Generators/Pallets and on the Survivor Side Repair 8 Gens. Something like that.

    OR

Make two types of Challenges for each pile of BPs and Rift Fragments. One skilled one and a grindy one. Example for skilled one: Hook 12 Survivors in a single Trial. Or Grind one: Hook 30 Survivors. So people who are not as good at the game can go for the grindy path while people who play the game a lot and have lots of experience do not need to grind, but can get it done by playing good.

Also, get rid of EGC-Challenges, they are annoying for both sides.

  • Really nice of you, maybe I will be lucky and in your Lobby :P

I am glad to help with that too, if I dont kill everybody before the Gates are powered.

If a Killer needs help and sees me in his Lobby, feel free to add me on Steam and message me. I will not work together to harm any other Survivors, but if you need a Kill in Endgame, sure, I will be there for you.

(Did this already with Trappers for their Trap-Challenges at the Exit Gates. So far everyone was nice enough to not take advantage of me being helpful...)

  • I guess it is a bug. The Level 2 Challenge for Gold Emblems worked fine.

  • Yay, lights on Gens, Lockers and Hooks.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

The upcoming rank reset change will make it so that half the community will be playing on purple & red ranks within few months. I don't see what's good about that.

Highly agreed. I guess they are doing it to make sure that Red Ranks do not play against actual Newbies and to make it harder for Derankers. While this is indeed a point, if someone is playing normally after Rank Reset, they are back in purple after a few hours already.

Now people who reach Rank 1 on either Side pretty quickly will be merged together with people who barely reach Rank 4 close before Rank Reset. The time close before Rank Reset was usually the worst for me, because playing against Killers who just are able to reach Red Ranks or with Survivors who struggle with that is not enjoyable. And now you will have those Matches pretty much instantly after Rank Reset.

  • Survivor most liked: Balanced Landing (RIP) and Iron Will

Survivor most hated: Self Care (as another Survivor...), Object of Obsession (when playing Killer)

Killer most liked: Either Whispers or Enduring

Killer most hated: NOED and Insidious

And do you know that if a team of survivors destroy a killer while him not being able to catch anyone, everybody in that case depips even if those survivors played extremely optimal...

This happens, but it is a rare case. I mean, I also depipped yesterday, a Leatherface did the Monstrous Shrine-Challenge, so my 3 Teammates died in the Basement, I got 1 Gen and out via Hatch. 0 Evader, 0 Benevolence, Iridescent Unbroken and I dont know what I got for Lightbringer. Depip, not my fault, but happens.

    @Topic:

I agree. If one of the five players in a Trial DCes, nobody should depip from that. It is neither the Killers nor the Survivors fault if one Survivor DCes and the rest will lose pips because of it. The Survivors should also not depip if the Killer DCed.

  • First of all, you are correct when you say that one Survivor needs to occupy the Killer in a chase, while the other 3 have time to do Gens.

However, Pallets can indeed be wasted:

First when a Pallet is thrown super-early, when you just throw it without looping a tile (running around it, keeping line of sight on the Killer and mirroring his movement). While you need and have to use Pallets in order to prolong your chase, Pallets are a limited ressource on the Map. A broken Pallet will not be available for you or any other Survivor. This is something that splits the REALLY good Survivors from the good Survivors: The amount of Pallets used in a single chase. A good Survivor might use 4 Pallets to go on a 2 minute Chase. A REALLY good Survivor combines multiple Structures and/or Windows together and maybe onle needs to use 1 Pallet.

Second, a Pallet can be wasted when you get hit through it OR when you throw it directly after getting hit. You have a Speed Boost after the Killer hit you, which can give you a lot of Distance to get to another Loop. But if you decide to throw the Pallet after getting hit, you might get the Stun, but the Speed Boost is wasted and you did not use the Pallet in an efficient way. This is basically the best scenario for the Killer: Getting a Hit and a (strong) Pallet gone.

This is something that comes with experience, I would say. If you notice that the Killer is swinging and you think that you will get hit most likely, dont throw the Pallet. On the other side, it might be possible to save Pallets, just by observing the Killer. If a Killer respects Pallets (happens at lower Ranks, the Killer does not want to get stunned and backs up when he reaches a Pallet), you do not need to throw it, you can make another Loop. Other way around would also be possible, the Killer is going for really ambitious Hits which most likely will not hit at all - by not throwing the Pallet, you can get another Loop, because the Killer has to recover from his Lunge and he did not get a Pallet Drop like he wanted.

Of course all of it is highly dependent on the Killer, a Killer can also respect a Pallet one or two times to trick you into being over-confident so he gets a Hit the next time.

Here is a good video regarding Pallets:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPr_bQdVkj0

In general, OhTofu has a lot of useful guides to check out.

  • There is one fundamental thing with Ghostface which is "broken":

His Stalking is not worth it. This is his biggest flaw. There is no real reason to stalk people, it is better to just run around in Night Shroud, hit people and surprise them. This is something that needs changing, Ghostface does not need any Nerfs or Buffs, but his Stalking needs to be useful. He is not played in the way it is intended, so they need to adjust it by not nerfing his Stealth-Potental, but making stalking meaningful.

Beside that his Reveal-Mechanic needs to be fixed. Looking at Ghostface without being able to reveal him is as common as looking to a random Spot and revealing him, giving away your own location without even knowing he was there.

  • I did not experience any bad Survivor games. Only thing that is annoying is that the Iridescent Emblems do not count every time (I did the two Killer Challenges before so that I do not need to do 25 Unhooks while everyone else needs to do 25 Unhooks).

But like I said - no problem with my Survivor games, I even did not notice any excessive farming.

Got nearly all of the Killer Challenges tho, took 2 games for hooking the Obsession two times and the NOED-one, the rest of the Master Challenges done in the first Trial. Very hard Tome Level.

    @Topic:

Yes, her Corrupt Purge needs a Nerf (but should still be strong). And then it should be somewhat mandatory for Survivors to cleanse to actually give her Corrupt Purge.

  • My Survivor games were alright. I completed the two Killer games first (got 3 times Suffocation Pit on the "Hook 15 people in the Basement" Challenge, when I used McMillian Offering for small Maps..) so I now have to do the Iridescent Challenge. I dont care for the Unhook-Challenge at the moment (in fact, I dont need to care for any of these, I am at Tier 70).

My Killer games were better, got a 4K in 2 minutes because they rushed the Hook, instead of letting me go away.

I agree. I mentioned this in another post, but honestly I can't blame them for not taking a lot of feedback on board when it comes to the level III and IV challenges. If I were a developer, I probably wouldn't put a lot of weight behind players' opinions on a feature they haven't even tested yet either.

    Exactly this.

I remember, for Level 1 and Level 2 of the Tome, people complained that some Challenges are too hard already. And then they complained that the waiting time between the Levels is too long.

I guess, if not enough people finish the Archives (not enough = below the estimate of BHVR) they will most likely adjust future Tomes.
