  • If you consider "useful" as "Gets its effect". Sure. But then many other Perks are "useful", and still not worth taking.

BL is now one of them - sure you can get away in high Structures. Sure you might be able to lose a Killer when you drop and dont run. But is it worth taking? Nope. Even before, several Maps where you would not be able to use it effectively. This did not change at all.

The Stagger Reduction was the reason why you can consider if you want to use DH or BL. Since this is gone now, there is only one choice for an Exhaustion Perk.

  • Two out of whatever how many Maps are dark. The others are played in Daylight. So yeah, cannot be a coincidence.

  • When I have to go (which is rare) or when something gamebreaking happened. Before Dedicated Servers, Lagswitchers were also a reason for me.

  • Before the Patch there was a Bug where you can hear her Phasing even when inside her Terror Radius. Maybe this Bug is still in the game.

That's a fat lie. Bl was useful on the map but the perk wasn't making the map broken. It's the amount of Windows and loops on the map that makes haddonfield a nightmare for killer

I know. But I am writing this in all threads where people complain about Haddonfield. Devs thought BL is the problem (it is not), so they nerfed it. Haddonfield should be fine now.

  • Haddonfield is fine, only BL was the problem. The Map is balanced now.

Wym the pins are poorly designed they are really good

The Pins are a replacement for Sloppy Butcher, at least the yellow one. I would be happy if they would apply their Status effect on all Frenzy Hits and not only on those visible with Killer Instinct.

    @Topic:

But overall, I had some good games with Legion. It is not easy at all, and I am pretty sure that I would have gotten a 4K with other Killers as well and probably quicker, but they dont look that bad (talking about Purple Ranks atm).

Currently using the yellow Pin and yellow Duration Add On. The Pins are better, but still, when using them, it gets rid of another, useful Add-On, because you only can take one Add On for Duration or Cooldown Reduction when using a Pin.

The movement feels really nice, plus on that side. Cooldown should be reduced a little bit, it is still really painful. Maybe I will equip Enduring to force Pallet Stuns so that I dont have to go through this long Cooldown.

  • Since I have to choose one of those answers, rework Moris. Moris are far more common than Keys, especially the pink Mori is found way more often in Bloodwebs than the green one.

But honestly, rework both. Moris should not give the ability to make the Match an easy Win and Keys should focus more on Aura Read with the Pink Key being the only Item that would allow 1 (and exactly one) Survivor to escape via Hatch (plus Rework of many Add Ons, especially the ones that lets you keep the Key).

  • Maybe Survivors should have big, red exclamation marks on their head. I mean, I already know that Killers want ez 4Ks, but come on... At least use those balls in your head.

I dont think that the new Map is too dark. For once, it is a Dark Map. Like, on Thompsons House, I can watch from one side of the Map to the other... Does not look good at all.

The bigger problem on the new Map are the Bushes, Bamboo or whatever this stuff is called. The same as on the first Yamaoka-Map, where you can crouch and be invisible. Other than that, the Map is fine.

  • Before we put in some stupid strong pink Offerings for Killers, maybe give the Survivor at least one pink Offering. There is still an Achievement for burning Pink Offerings, which cannot be done by Survivors.

  • Whatever 600 Auric Cells would Cost. Since the smallest package is 500 Auric Cells, you would need to buy the 1100 Auric Cell-Package.

But honestly, buying Tiers is only worth it at the end of the RIft if there is something close by which you REALLY want to have.

  • I have Onis in like a Third of my Games on PC, Red Rank. This will go down, obviously.

  • Have read this on the Forum before that players with Inner Strength sometimes think that all the Totems belong to them.

But yeah, this is the risk of running Inner Strength. Nobody should expect that he will be able to cleanse a Totem.

Would just ignore it, this is entitlement at its best.

who were good at base nurse will understand that she didnt needed it and ur attitude tells u are not one of them

Nah, I just wanted to mention it.

Like I said - really strong argumentation. /s

  • Fun thing I just realized:

The "argument" is always "She never needed it". Strong.

  • Others explained it already, but just out of interest: Did this complete your challenge or did it not count as carrying the survivor?

  • @DostiL said:

This has happened before dedicated servers, feels like it has to do with how dead hard is programed and less about ping

It happened sometimes before Dedicated Servers, but since they are released, it is happening on a regular Basis. So yeah, this is a Dedicated Servers Issue.

Which is fun, because the only good Exhaustion Perk left after the BL-Nerf is a bugged mess. Cool :>

They deliberately changed the matchmaking for SWF to specifically so that a red rank can't go up against green ranks with a brown ranked partner. It probably has more to do with connection strength than actual matchmaking. Not to mention, there's probably a hidden component to the matchmaking. I've played as a rank 12 killer with rank 14-17 survivors who acted like they were purple ranks. If survivors do WAY better than their rank suggests, there's probably a hidden matchmaking boost to get them more into the games they should.

No, there is a Hard Cap of 6 Ranks. This means that Green Ranks can play vs Red Ranks without any problem. But this Hard Cap is also not working everytime - I also had Rank 12 Killers as Rank 1 Survivor, this is almost double the amount that is allowed (which is an edge case, but still).

So Rank 12 with Rank 17 is totally fine, according to the Matchmaking. If it is fine from a gameplay-perspective is a different story.

  • @oxygen said:

Yeah blaming it on SWF when it's like that is just sorta silly. Anything +/- more than 6 ranks is either matchmaking itself getting drunk or a SWF party dragging a lower ranked player along to a higher rank.

To be honest, even 6 Ranks is too much. A Rank 2 Survivor vs a Rank 8 Killer (which is almost Green Ranks) is not fair at all (same the other way around of course, also not fair).

Let alone that this Hard Cap is not working every time.

  • You can blame those wonderful Dedicated Servers that this is happening. And no, the Devs dont care that they are not ready.

  • @Mr_K said:

I like how the narative has become solos are helpless and weak. Yes, getting bad teammates sucks but four randoms that are independently good can out play any killer.

Giving a powerful perk like kindred to all survivors for free and allowing another perk to take that empty spot would throw the "balance" of the game. Kindred alone would remove any hook pressure for the killer.

As a survivor working on a gen while a teammate gets hooked. I'm not getting off that gen if I see someone else going for the save. Time wasted by two or more survivors going for the save is lost for the killer and it doesn't cost a perk slot.

So what does the killer get in exchange for the increased gen efficiency? Are you willing to make a non-hex version of Ruin basekit? How about increasing base movement speed from 4.6 to 4.8 and 4.4 to 4.6?

Its not about a narrative. Its a about buffing Solos to balance Killers around SWF-Level.

  • Meanwhile I got the Unnerving Presence Challenge when a Survivor DCed in Loading Screen.

But when the Killer Ragequits after 5 Gens, nope.

So I should go out of my way to leave a player alone just because they went inside a wooden locker in front of my face? I should go out of my way to avoid doing my objective (kill) just because one guy can't be hooked for 60 seconds. Nah Im the killer and I've hooked someone else, just let me grab this guy who thinks he is a genius by hiding in there and carry on with my game

I mean, the Killer can also get his 3 Brain Cells working and not go after the unhooked person. And if they go into a locker and you can afford eating the Stun... Just do it? This person will not have DS anymore after that, so you can be a good Killer and tunnel them as you wish. ;)

  • @bilaueta said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/897370#Comment_897370

What about players that can crawl out of a gate and screw the killer up because he can't do anything to stop them because if not they are tunnelers

And what about when a killer hooks someone else, randomly finds an unhooked player that didn't bother to heal and then that player hides in a locker? Outplayed I guess

Then let them be in the locker? A Survivor in a locker is not doing Gens. A survivor not doing Gens is good.

  • Thing is, the really hardcore-camping Killers are in the low Ranks (except you are High Rank and facing Gammalunitac, then you get camped by a Legacy Nurse with Ebony, which will cry in their Stream :) )...

The reason while it is such a successful strategy on low Ranks is indeed that Gens take a REALLY long time to be done. People not knowing where Gens might be, not hitting Skill Checks (like at all), being overly cautious. In higher Ranks, the Killer will usually lose when they camp, it is a strategy, but a bad one.

I have no problem in punishing campers even more tho, but sometimes it is necessary to camp. There are the moments when you need 1 person dead or simply the time where the gates are powered and camping is the only way to secure the Kill.

  • Non-Obsession DS was nowhere near fair, it was even worse than Obsession-DS. Obsession-DS could be somewhat countered by juggling or slugging, while Non-Obsession DS simply hit the Killer by surprise.

I still think that current DS is fine. I almost never get to use it, but when I use mine, it is always justified. I dont run at the Killer tho in an attempt to stun them, because if they are smart, they will only slug me which is just free Pressure for them.

And I get hit almost never with DS, because when someone tries to do a Gen in my face, I slug them, just in case.

So yeah, I am pretty sure that people are making a lot up when it comes to DS. If watching Streams, I also see that DS hits exactly those people which should have been hit - tunnelers.

  • It is quite clear that the Devs dont want stealth. Maps are bright like they are in Daylight (like, I can watch full map on some Maps... Really good atmosphere!/s...), recent Killers eliminate Stealth:

Legion-->Killer Instinct, even when in Lockers

Plague-->non-removable Coughing + Infectious Fright made it into the game

Ghostface-->Killer Instinct when broken out of Stealth (even tho, this is fine, its a Trade-Off... You give away the Killers position, he gets to know yours)

    Oni-->non-removable breadcrumbs following you

Quite clear that the game should resolve around Looping and Chases, this is also what most players want.

I would love to have DBD as a scary game where you have to hide from the Killer, but without a massive overhaul, this will not be possible. Especially not when the Maps are designed that 80yr old Grandmas can see from one side of the Map to the other.

  • Red Rank, PC and around a Third of my games are Onis. Will go down, obviously. I am rather surprised that I only got one Spirit after the Patch.

  • Yep, the Basekit Nerf was justified was well. I faced Nurses without any Perks (or only BBQ as only Perk), because they simply dont need it. Now this is rare, but had a Nurse with only BBQ two days ago. He got a 4K (even tho with 1 DC, but I doubt that this would have changed it).

I dont think that the game would have been able to be balanced with old Nurse.

On a side note, I noticed that she feels better now. Said it earlier, but I felt that the Servers did hurt her more than the Basekit Nerf. Maybe it was this:

    • Fixed an issue that caused The Nurse to snap at the beginning and ending of her blink. Fixing this issue required us to rework how the snapping of characters interacts with the movement systems, and could cause additional side effects.

But she feels more "natural"(? Dont know if this is the correct word for it, me fail English) now.

That's the end goal, although that takes time. It takes even longer when you have to design each map for both reduced stagger and normal stagger. We didn't want to do nothing in the meantime, so we chose to address it now.

"takes time"<--I mean, the complaints about especially Haddonfield are going on for months, if not years. The Map is horrible for Killer, even without BL.

But well, at least there is hope that BL will return one day in a useful state. The way it is right now it is on pair with many other garbage Perks.

  • @Peanits said:

It could be used in some maps to make loops incredibly strong, or even infinite. While we don't mind it opening up some new opportunities, becoming basically untouchable is out of the question.

    Then fix the Maps.

The Maps where BL was insanely strong are still not good at all for Killers. Haddonfield in particular, the Myers House can be fixed by having Doorways instead of Windows on the upper Floor and closing the Bottom Floor Window.

Crotus Prenn Main Building has 4 safe Pallets and a shitload of Windows. Whether or not you have BL, this is an insane structure. Same for Grim Pantry, you dont need BL for that.

It is kinda sad that no good Survivor Perks are coming, but gutting the few that are actually useable is a shame. Because with that we reach a point where only a few Perks are commonly used, and this is not good.

  • I just assume that he means Self Care.

If that is the case, this would be too strong in the long run. You would need to sacrifice two Perk Slots, but have healing with a really high Speed, even vs things that should slow down Healing.

Yep, got the bonus 500 BP, in the after game lobby it says that you need to unhook 2 survivors.

People have reported that the Obsession-Challenge and Unhook-Challenge cannot be completed.

I would assume that the Hotfix broke the Archives so that the Challenges require the old values.

  • Its seems like the challenges require the old values to be finished. Same happens to the Unhook Challenge and the one with Unhooking during EGC.

So looks like the Hotfix broke the Archives.

  • Are you sure it was a safe Unhook?

  • One day he will get a Paperbag to cover his face as Cosmetic.

So I guess wake up bug wasn't game breaking. Nice reasoning.

    Cool whataboutism Dude.

  • "P.S. "Just wait for the rank reset" is a flawed argument."

Not only that, it will not be really different with the new Rank Reset. You need 1 point less for the Double Pip, this is still really hard for most of the Killers.

They really should change Adepts to 4 Sacrifices. I am not doing Killer Adepts, because I simply dont want to spend so much time trying to get them with the current Emblem-System and weaker Killers.

(OR what might help: Give the Killer an Iridescent in Gatekeeper when they manage to kill all Survivors before 5 Gens are done... This might help a lot, since this is usually the most problematic emblem)

  • Yeah, fixing a gamebreaking Bug is THE SIGN that the Devs are 100% Survivor Biased. That they did not find any solutions to other Bugs yet is not the case, they dont want to fix them, because they are SURVIVOR BIASED.

You are quite high on the list for my "dumbest thread of the year"-award.

  • The Archives should shine a light on the Lore of those characters, who do not have that much Lore already.

So the next Tomes will most likely be about Dwight, Meg, Jake, Nea and Hillbilly, Nurse, Wraith. I would also say that Wraith and some male, early Survivor will have their Lore covered.

  • When a challenge forces me to use it.

  • @Thanatos_x said:

3 seconds was already long enough for the killer to come out of stun and break the pallet so yeah I really don't see why they did this. Only real way to be able to lift a pallet back up during a chase is to blind the killer and even then they can still break it sooo this perk is basically useless the majority of the time imo.

It was useless to begin with. And honestly, it had to be useless, because Pallets are the most important ressource Survivors have. A perk interacting with Pallets needs to be weak.

  • First of all, they believe that every SWF out there is a highly coordinated, super optimal Bully Squad.

Second they believe that SWF was never planned for this game (like... imagine a Multiplayer Onlinegame where you play in a team without the possibility to play with Friends).

Third, it is really easy to claim that you lost because the others were SWF (certain Streamers do it as well), even if they are Solos, just imagine they were a 4 man SWF to compensate for your lack of Skill.

  • Honestly, 0. But since this is not available, I go for 1, because I think Huntress needs it, because she has the worst Map Pressure.

  • They tested this once, but reverted it.

And I dont think that any competent Pig player will follow you while moonwalking... That takes way too much time.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

IMO yes I think it's a fair reason, but the thing is you can just die on hook can't you? You have to be hooked there for it anyways, can't you just like die on the hook and leave it at that?

No reason to take a leaver penalty when they are added when you can just do that and move on. You would get BP that way still too.

Does it not let you do that? If you can't do that; or if someone saves you before you can die.....I think you are in the right to DC but soon they are gonna turn DC punishments on, if they are smart they will fix this bug and THEN do that though....

"IMO yes I think it's a fair reason, but the thing is you can just die on hook can't you?"

    Nope, sadly not.

I ended up in the Basement... Got unhooked, unable to navigate because my Screen was white. Got downed, hooked again. And well, my character struggled automatically. I could not even die on Hook, I needed to wait for another Unhook and another Hook to actually leave the game...

Pretty much every game has someone with a flashlight who does try for flashlight saves. And a flashlight save could completely cripple a killer if it's done right. so saying "good survivors don't flashlight save." is wrong.

Thats neither what I nor you wrote. You wrote: "Good survivors will pretty much camp you when you chase someone"

I wrote: "Good Survivors will do the Objective and not chase the Killer in an attempt to get a Flashlight Save"

There is a difference between going for Flashlight Saves when there is an Opportunity and running behind the Killer, being unproductive for something that will most likely not work (because Killers have ears too and looking at Walls is way too easy to avoid getting blinded).

  • @BunnyTheHutt said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/109861/flashlights

Flashlight saves. Good survivors will pretty much camp you when you chase someone, so it's best too bait the rat out of hiding then hit it in the head. Works for me usually.

Those are not "good Survivors". Good Survivors will do the Objective and not chase the Killer in an attempt to get a Flashlight Save which is counterable so easily.
