Maybe dont rely on Ruin then? It is not a good Perk. In fact, vs really good Survivors it does way less than vs bad Survivors. Sure, nobody can hit Great Skill Checks 100% of the time, but Red Ranks will be able to have at least 8 out of 10, while green Ranks and below will struggle more.
Furthermore, a timer would be bad for the Killer. It is no problem to just hide from the Killer for two minutes. And no, this does not benefit the Killer at all (except Killers like Trapper of course). Many Killer Players dont play Whispers (I mean, why play the best Tracking Perk when you can have double BP with BBQ, which is worse for tracking...) and if all Survivors are hiding for two minutes, the Killer gains exactly nothing, because no ressources are used.
And lets not forget, there are games where Ruin lasts really long. But apparently Killers "forget" about such situations. Sure, it does not fit their narrative.

I like her Cosmetics a lot, she has the coolest outfits in my opinion. But I was also enjoying Quentin when getting all Perks on him, his P3 looks great.

If Mobile is really done by another company, this can happen. They probably have to follow BHVR in huge aspects of the game, but also have a free hand on other decisions.
(I know this from World of Tanks - the game overall is pretty balanced, but the Chinese Server is not running under Wargaming, the main company. So the Chinese Server, in exchange to the access of Tank Data for ingame Tanks, can have their own rule. This results in high Tier Premium Tanks, which are simply overpowered, because they can do so).
So I would not compare Mobile to other Platforms, if it is really not the same company.
Besides that, those Skins are ugly.

I personally don't understand why this has happened. Recent changes to the emblem system has made ranking up harder but still not altogether difficult. It's still largely playtime=rank.
As a result of nobody resetting more than a handful of ranks, within a month or two the red ranks are going to be basically everyone. It's going to remove that separation of sweaty tryhards from the more casual ranks, and it's going to make new players find it almost IMPOSSIBLE to get a match against similar ranks. They'll have long queues every single match to be dumped with red ranks anyway.
I guess Main Reason was exactly this - new players should not be matched with experience players who just got ranked down because of Rank Reset. With 6 Ranks Disparity, it is indeed possible that a Red Rank is facing a new player after Rank Reset.
However, I see the problem in two areas:
First, like you mentioned, new players will have it harder to find games. I know it from my friend, he rarely plays Killer, but started to do so because of the Archives, as Rank 18. He had to wait so long to find a game. This might now even be harder.
Second, quality of games. The games near end of Season were horrible on Survivor Side. People are barely Red Rank because they just reached it near the end of the Season. This will not be the case anymore, people who struggled to Rank up from 11 to 4 (or whatever Rank they were after Rank Reset) will now have it way easier to get into Red Ranks, resulting in an overall loss of quality. Sure, Rank did not matter that people where High-skilled, but now it does matter even less.
And for me - I rather go against more experienced/less experienced people (or play with them) if I have good queue times.
@Almo said:
Regarding rank reset update:
One serious problem we had was people who don't play a lot who still want to rank up. Sure, playing a game a month just isn't enough. But when it takes quite a few games to get from 15 to 5 and each month it knocks you right back down, that's not fun, nor is it indicative of how good you are at the game.
Also, the system knocked everyone from 1 down to 10, and then various ranks down to 15 depending on how far from 1 you were. Given how the matchmaking algo works (in order to get queue times down), that meant every single player in the entire pool was a legal target to play with every other player in the pool.
Sorry to say that, but people who barely play the game should not expect to get as much as people who play it much more. This does not work like that in any game. If you play more, you get more.
Someone who plays half an hour per day should not expect to get to Rank 1 as easy as someone who plays 3 hours per day.

saying that "they have to because it's part of the game" doesn't solve the problem: if the swf problem is so paramount, killers will stop playing as killer, and there won't be any more game for neither swf or solo survivors.
Splitting the queues, if you are right in your assumption, would be the best thing: killers will stick to the game, swf players would still be able to play the game, just not with their friends if they have long queue times.
But I want to play with my friends!
Ok, but at what cost? Survivor queues times are already at an all time high, I guess some changes are long overdue.
Calling SWF the "SWF problem" is kinda dumb. Like I said above - not every SWF is even good at the game. And Killers dont only lose to SWFs.

that’s not an answer to my question though.
I repeat it: if, as by your statement, killers don’t want, ever, to play against swf, why is it a good idea to force them to do it?
don’t you think they will stop playing, if what you state is true?
I said they are mostly crying about SWF. Not that they dont want to play vs SWF ever. But yeah, that can be assumed.
And like I said, and this was an answer to your question - they have to, because it is part of the game. Or they can dodge like little chickens. Which a lot of them do.
-
Why not give him all Traps and increase the number of total Traps by using Bag Add-Ons? Like 5 Traps default, +1 for the Common Bag, +2 for the uncommon Bag and +3 for the Stitched Bag.
He would still need to travel a lot of Distance to place them, but he is not picking up his power for the first two minutes of them. Let alone that this is sometimes not even an option (e.g. Maps like Suffocation Pit-->Guarding one side to force a 3-Gen or travel the whole Map for a Trap, which might allow the Survivors to remove the Option to 3-Gen).
Giving him way more Traps would actually remove the need of having a Bag in the first place. Currently you are basically forced to get a Bag AND then have to decide between Tar Bottles or Setting Speed. But with more Traps you can equip Both, or can go for other things.
(like, one of my favorite Builds is Padded Jaws and Honing Stone so that I can get more STBFL-Stacks in a short amount of time by getting two per trapped Survivor and being able to grab the Obsession quite reliable... But guess what is the problem? I run around with only 1 Trap the whole time..)

Let’s assume that’s true: no killers want to play against swf.
then, how in the world it’s a good idea to force them to do just that? Wouldn’t they stop playing, eventually?
SWF is part of the game and will never go away. People have to accept this, or, as you mentioned, stop playing.
Especially because SWF does not mean highly-optimal Squad. And Killers are way too often assuming they are facing an SWF. I mean, it is easy to say "I lost because you were SWF" and hard to say "I lost because I am not as good as I think I am". Like, when I was still watching tru3, he and his chat assumed SWF (or even toxic SWF, when they were doing Gens, lol) nearly every game. And quite often I knew that those players were Solo, because I played a lot of games with them (which happens when you are playing a lot of DBD - you meet the same people) and they were always Solo.
The only Solution would be to tell the Killer afterwards who was SWF. Then they know that they did not lose vs an 4 man SWF. Or, that they just won against a 4 man SWF...
But like OP suggested, there is no reason for a Killer to play casual. Because even 4 Potatoes on Comms do better than 4 Potatoes playing Solo. They are still not good and most likely a Pushover for a Killer, but yeah...

most stuff on the web isn’t “worth it.” Mists, over half of the addons for most killers never get played, even the bonus point ones are barely worth it IF you max out that category in a game. They need something to fill space, what else would they make the ultra rare? Medkits, mo thanks they would be too scarce then.
I mean, there is no reason to have an Ultra Rare for Medkits. In fact, every Ultra Rare (except Keys, but it is only a matter of time) on Survivors Side is not worth the BPs, because they all got nerfed (justified, but still too expensive afterwards).
And I agree, I have so many Stuff which I will never use. Maybe at one point they will introduce the option to sell Add-Ons or Offerings for a small amount of BP.

Thats just an assumption. Why would they never play Causal? I think a lot of solo survivors would also play. Just to have fun, just to test combos and so on..and thats also true for the killers. And if I meet tryhards in Causal theres at least no need to be angry because you wont loose any progress. I would play it as a Killer and I think more people think like me.
Killers are mostly crying about SWF. So they would never face SWF in Ranked Mode.
-
They are still good, both of them. Both also have some form of Counterplay, if the Killer waits for 10 seconds, he can usually counter both (too long for the purple, too short for the pink).
However, they are not worth the 6k/7k BPs.
-
Can I say "git gud"?
Or is this only allowed here when Survivors complain?
-
Killers would never play Casual Mode.
-
Including Tome 3 I think all the challenges are easy. This is for both sides (killer being slightly more easy), and I am not amazing at this game at all.
And well, you dont have to do any challenges. If you dont like - your choice. No need to bother with it, no need to be stressed of it.
-
Regarding Nurse: At least on PC the Dedicated Servers are better. Before the Servers were the biggest Nerf to her, but she seems to be working on Dedicated Servers now.
-
I really hope that they reconsider their change. I mean, I get it, it is to avoid new players being mixed with people who were in High Ranks and are only in yellow Ranks because of Rank Reset.
But the quality of games you get as Red Rank Survivor is really bad close before Rank Reset, because even when you are Rank 1 after a week at max, you will get matched with people who just reach Rank 4 close before Rank Reset. And those people will be in Rank 5 now, so they will be in Red Ranks pretty fast.
Prime example, two days ago: Played on Hawkins, with a David and two Megs vs Pig. At one point: Meg Number 1 running around with an active Trap 3/4 of timer already gone, David running around with an active Trap, almost half of the Timer gone. Myself on the hook. Meg Number 2 is... doing a Gen.
Even when Meg Number 1 died from her Trap and David was hooked as well, she did not move from her Gen. She only moved once the Pig was close to her... Those are the players who barely reach Red Ranks near the end of the "season".
Also I enjoyed the previous Rank Reset, because on both sides it was relaxing for a few days.
-
Got Tier 70 long before Level 3 was released. Could probably do 2 Rifts each Season.
-
Killer cant tell it and it might be a coincidence that they are going for you. There is no reason to tunnel the Obsession, in fact, most Obsession Perks work better when NOT chasing the Obsession. So most likely coincidence.
It is not a good Perk tbh. Because it relies on your teammates being dead, which lowers the chance of escaping anyway.
-
What I would like to see for Pig:
Skill Checks for Boxes should have a higher penalty (not being more difficult, this would only punish low Rank Survivors, high Ranks dont have a problem with that - thats why Overcharge is a bad Perk) AND work with Lullaby (I see the most potential on missed Skill Checks here - Survivors are more panicking because they want to get rid of the Trap and Lullaby will help with that).
Her RBTs are fine as they are, they are not meant to be used in EGC, Devs even said that the reason for them to exist is to slow down the game. They should also not be more threatening, because the thing is, they cannot be too good, because otherwise it would be like two Killers chasing multipe Survivors when the RBTs are frequently resulting in Death.
MAYBE: Dont let the first Box work.
Then buffing her Dash-Ability. Not the Roar, but something different. Just make it more worth using, because when I use it, I only use it when I am near a Survivor and would also be able to hit him with an M1, just to get more BPs. Other than that, Pig is really poor on BPs in that category, because you only have the RBTs.
Add Ons should be looked into. I would like to move Amandas Letter from Pink to Purple. Its nice, but not really that useful, especially because you will most likely have to use a Map Offering as well. I would not buff Amandas Letter tho, since it is an Aura Read and she still has 115% MS(of course not when the Aura Read is active, but still).
Then, an idea for another Pink Add-On instead of Amandas Letter: The Key is always in the last Box. To give a Downside and make it not too frustrating with Extra Boxes or Tampered Timer, maybe increase the timer or lower the number of RBTs available. (Maybe change the text of the Add On which removes the ability to see Box Auras to this and push it up to pink)
Then i would also like to see one Add On which removes her Roar, maybe yellow. And maybe also a stronger version of Combat Straps, also yellow and/or even green.

Don't forget bill mains
Bill has at least one Cosmetic.

Seeing this made me realize how old I am.
Thanks for that.
:(
-
Just opened DBD; they are released.
-
Freddy is still a really strong Killer. He did not need such a massive, unfun Slowdown in the first place. And like said, you either have to change the Add Ons or the Perks. So whats better? Change the Add Ons of one Killer or Change the Perks for every Killer?
-
Happy with that. Forever Freddy was the one thing that really annoyed me, he is a strong Killer and should not need to go for such a big Slowdown.
-
@kisfenkin said:
@Aven_Fallen So, you are saying that every player that likes the old method of just paying for the cosmetics you want is a whiny baby? You really have nothing to contribute, do you?
I don't like what these luck-based non-challenges are doing to the game. If you think you are skilled and deserve a reward for throwing a match, or ten, to finish one of them then you are completely mistaken.
Even the ones that some people think are more 'difficult' like getting all four survivors in the basement, still rely a great deal on LUCK. You have to be lucky enough to have decent basement placement, lucky enough to have cooperative survivors that don't DC or just stay too far away from the basement, and lucky enough to not face a survivor group that finishes their objective too fast for you to 4k.
You can buy the cosmetics. Later.
-
@HuN7r3sS said:
Honestly I've felt like Adam hasn't had too many cosmetics because the devs can't come up with any unique designs for him like they did with the other survivors. I feel like there is a lot they could do for possible Adam cosmetics but they're at a loss
Would agree on that. Like, what would fit with Adam? I cannot think of anything.
@lazerlight said:
"He's not that popular"
Literally Yui didnt EXIST to us two weeks ago and she STILL has more cosmetics than Adam.
To be fair, it is easier to create cosmetics for female characters. And usually they are played more than male characters, so they will most likely earn more money.

Nah, tru3 goes against the most optimal teams all the time. At least this is what he is saying when the first Gen pops and the Survivor did already a dozen mistakes.
Dont forget, if a Killer loses, the Survivors are too strong.
If he gets a 4K, its only Skill.
-
I would totally be up to some Killer who is insane and constantly mumbling to himself. Maybe even looking like a Survivor (not a specific one, but from size and general appearance). But well, this would probably only be Huntress combined with Legion.
For Survivors, Ash is already annoying me enough. I dont need any more talking Survivors.
-
Funny how people still act like you have 30 minutes to complete all Challenges.
Sure, people will loot Chests. But you have 3 fking Weeks. Just wait two days and you will be able to loot all the Chests you want.
All this crying because of the Archives. Really, those kind of players who just want everything for free and stuffed in their mouth...
-
Mabye we should all start playing Adam only with the Base Skin in January? I mean, I have Adam and his Base Skin!
-
So, not only get the best Killers (Red Ranks) more time than the worst Killers (brown Ranks), but also the "Reward" for Ranking up as Survivor is to spend more time on the most boring thing you can do as Survivor?
Yeah, I totally dont see any reason why people would not just derank then.

Works as intended. Sorry, mid rank killer players don't have to go against SWF groups with high rank members and get bullied all game.
Which also did not happen before. If they would do an Average, it would be nice, but they never intended to do this. Before, low Rank and high Rank Survivors in a SWF were paired with a low Rank Killer.
Thing is, the way it is right now, it does not prevent bullying at all. If somebody wants to bully low Rank Killers, they can do (or low Rank Survivors, Killers derank as well). I mean, it does not bother me, when I am playing with a friend, he is the same Rank as me. But another friend tried out DBD once, and might want to try it out again. But yeah, sorry - I cant play with him. Because he would go against Red Rank Killers without knowing anything of the game.
So I cannot help him getting to know DBD. I mean, I can get a new account so that he has easier games, but this would not be fair at all for low Rank Killers.
The current state is a solution - but by far not the best.
-
Works as intended. Sorry, new Survivor players are not allowed to have a enjoyable game experience when playing with Friends, same goes for random Survivors who are in the same Lobby.

I first thought you mean "Only Stealth, no Stalking" when reading the Title. I have not run into many Ghostfaces playing like that. It could be that if he found a build for clown that he could do equally well
And if he did I would definitivly give clown a second look
But i don't see how that's relevant when discussing how viable wraith is
How other killers might perform has zero outcome on how viable wraith is
And no using kyf and only playing against the best of the best survivors scews the results
If you find that in the 17 or so games he won everyone survivor was a potato then you need to lower your expectation of the avarage survivor
He claims that Wraith is a Top 4 Killer. But this is based on the fact that Nurse and Spirit are better (which cannot be denied) and Ghostface is Top 3 according to him, because he did a similar experiment (not gonna argue with that, Ghostface is strong). But how can he know that Wraith is Top 4 when not testing all the other Killers? Surely its relevant when the other Killers dont have data.
Regarding KYF: DBD has so many variables. I dont say that you would do KYF with the best Survivors, but you need people where you know their Skill Level. And a consistent Skill Level is more helpful with analyzing.
I mean, tru3 sometimes jumps on Conclusions. Good example: Discussion if Spirit or Billy is second best a few months ago. While I cannot deny that he was right with Spirit being better (no other answer possible IMO), when playing Billy he looked like he wanted to make him look bad. Like using Chainsaws when he had to simply M1, like trying to chainsaw an Injured Survivor on a T/L-Wall.
Its the player, not the Killer.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
Tru3 did say so and also played Wraith for a day and won like 17 out of 18 times or something
I know he's not liked a lot here but honestly you can't argue with his results
The results are not relevant at all. First for that you would need KYF with good Survivors. But second, with or without KYF, you would need to check with every other Killer.
I mean, what if he gets 17 out of 18 with Clown? Is Clown viable then? Or is it because he has 4K hours in the game? When he plays Spirit and gets ony 16 out of 18, is Spirit worth than Wraith then?
He has Data, but that Data is not really meaningful. There are a bunch of Killers where he would get better results when playing them for a full day.
-
I got the Rift done before Tome Level 3 released.
-
Finished it weeks ago.
-
The only thing I would wish for Wraith would be faster Movement Speed while cloaked and that he is not so loud while cloaked (his Footsteps and Breathing really take away every Stealth, even if a Wraith manages to sneak up on a Survivor).
-
Thing is, only the really sweaty people would still play. And when you have a SWF-Group, you WILL have a sweaty one. At least I would not play anymore with such a restriction, and I am playing only in a 2 man SWF or Solo.
Really, there needs to be an indicator after the Match who was in SWF. Then some Killers might realize that they did not lose vs a 4 man SWF but vs some Solos. Or did not win vs some Randoms, but vs a 4 man SWF which was (Oh Surprise!) not highly coordinated (because the chances of running into such a coordinated team is way smaller than people claim).
-
The most useful one in my opinion.
But I like the concept of Autodidact, its just so incredible weak.
-
If you got destroyed in 100 matches in a row, maybe you are just bad?
I highly doubt that you got 100 super-optimal SWFs in a row.
-

No its not, infact that is why I only play survivor with friends
What you mean are bad Survivors.
What I mean are Squads who sacrifice their people (in a SWF) just to get the game over as fast as possible.
-
@Hoodied said:
Yeah Gen Rushing exists
Its where survivors ignore teammates on hook and only do generators pretty much
The Chances to run into a Team of Survivors who lets people die on Hook to fix all Gens is VERY small.
-
First of all, it is not everyone. Just yesterday:
Played a game as Billy and I sucked. All 4 got away, one of them (the person with the lowest point, the only Survivor I did not find at all): "gg ez"... The other 3 went against this one guy because he had by far the lowest points and should not write "ez" when it was not easy (the other 3 were on their Death Hook). This was kinda nice, I dont care that much if someone wants to trashtalk in Postgame Chat, but it is nice that 3 other Survivors (maybe they were a SWF) were not happy with that one Survivor.
And well, why is the DBD Community toxic? Because its a cheap game. The more expensive a game is, the nicer is the community. If you pay 60 Euros for a game, you will make sure that you are not banned at some point. If you pay 20 Euro for a game (or even 10, when on Discount), you might as well get a Ban, you can simply rebuy the game, if you like.
It is even worse with F2P-games. So yeah, from my experience in Onlinegaming, the more international and the cheaper a game is, the more toxic is the Community.
-
Bond is better. I mean, Empathy has a range of 128m, which is the full Map. But does it really matter what is going on on the other side of the Map? Especially when you have Spine Chill, you will know when the Killer is coming closer. Furthermore, Bond has 36 meters, this is still more than enough to get away.
Furthermore, Bond helps with being productive. Even when you are playing stealthy, you will go for Saves, repair Gens... You can see if someone is already going for a Save, you will see if someone is sitting on a Gen next to you to join them.
So yeah, while full Map Aura Read might be nice, there is not really a point in knowing what is happening full Map away.
-
Looking for a Key. If I dont find one, simply opening one Gate to get some Points.
-
God forbid that Survivors are using good Perks.
-
Lets not forget her Breathing.
-
Billy is fine, but his Add Ons might need some Insight. Especially Tuning Guide and Cooldown-Add Ons. Tuning Guide is too strong for only a Green Add On, considering it is a combination of a few yellow and brown Add Ons.
Regarding Cooldown Add Ons, missed Chainsaw Attacks can have a meaningful penalty.
But other than that, nothing is needed. Especially not to his Basekit.
