  • Just wanna mention it:

With BL nerfed, the Structures are fine. I mean, people are complaining about Haddonfield, but that will be fixed with the BL Nerf. As well as Grim Pantry, Crotus Prenn... No problem here anymore, all fixed, BL is nerfed, the Maps are now balanced.

At least this is what I will write in every Thread complaining about one of those Maps.

  • Best probably Spirit, but thats because I have a decent Headset and ears.

    Most fun with Pig.

  • You dont want them. Be happy that only PC-Users are the test monkeys for the ######### Servers.

They are not ready at all, maybe later in 2020. The only question is, if PC players have to suffer until then or if BHVR stops bruteforcing them upon us.

  • Eh.

Rather give Solos all the Information SWF have and balance Killers around that.

So: Buff Solos so they are equal to SWF (roughly), put Killers on a level that they can face SWFs without any problems.

But Voice Chat... I dont want to talk to strangers. Since the DBD Community is full of children, I also dont want to get insulted when I miss a Skill Check or do anything which another person considers incorrect.

I mean, just imagine being the only one with a 3 man SWF full of Italians/German/Russian/whatever... Not really cool to hear a language you dont understand all the time.

And lets not forget the Language Barrier...Clearly no topic in the US, but in Europe it can easily happen to speak to someone who does not know English (most likely Italy, France or Spain).

  • Seems like the Solo is not happy to play with a 3 man SWF with two brown Ranks. Understandable.

  • Regardless of Balanced Landing becoming the worst Exhaustion Perk in the Game, Exhaustion Add Ons are stupid and should be changed. They are from a time where Exhaustion recovered while running, now they simply remove a Perk. Beerus Toxin is only 3k BP, negating Dead Hard, Lithe, Balanced Landing (completely, after the Nerf)...

This is like if those Toolbox Add Ons which increase the Skill Check Zones would increase the Hex-Skill Check Zones... Killers would riot.

Cheap Add Ons should not negate entire Perks. And it does not even matter (when it comes to Huntress) if someone is exhausted for 30 seconds (brown) or 90 seconds (green), since Exhaustion does not recover while running...

  • @Boss said:

Start at 0% instead and make the gains smaller to end up at the current maximum bonus.

Idk if that's enough, but i feel like it deserves that with or without additional buffs, i don't see why this Perk needs to start negatively.

Most likely not enough. I mean, you cannot get ######### in Endgame by Regression Skill Checks (when you did not get any before), but you still have to hope for RNG to get Skill Checks, otherwise We Will Make It or Botany Knowledge are better.

Maybe on top of it it should work with Med Kits, however, the faster you heal, less Skill Checks will appear...

  • Why do Survivors have to waste time cleansing Dull Totems for a Perk the Killer might not even have?

  • Thing is, if you want to go for fast healing, you can also equip We Will Make It or Botanly Knowledge. Sure, if you get all Stacks on Autodidact AND Skill Checks afterwards while healing someone, it is faster than the Perks I mentioned. However, they are more consistent.

Autodidact is not really a bad Perk, but it is too RNG-based. If you get no Skill Check, it does nothing. And if you can only get one and maybe two, you have regressing Healing Speed. And when you get 5 Stacks, the game might be even over.

  • First game. Really hard challenge.

  • Thing is, his power is insanely strong. It does not take that much practice to use the Demon Dash, especially since you cannot collide with anything (other than Billy). So form the pure strength of his Power, he should get some Nerfs (and I am pretty sure he will get some).

However, the difficult thing is - he does not have his Power from the Start and he does not have its Power all of the time. If the Oni cannot find a Survivor fast enough, he might end up losing, because he cannot build up his Power. But, once he got it, he can have the whole team slugged in like a minute.

Furthermore, he promotes slugging. This is not because some players want to play unfun, it is simply how he works. He punishes for bringing people to the Hook, you are far better off when you slug as many Survivors as possible before hooking one of them, which is bad game design.

So yeah, I really dont know what they will do with him.

  • From what I have seen:

A Tier, easily. But I guess he will be changed, while he does not have his Power right from the start (and not always available), his Power is way too strong. He also encourages Slugging, because you basically need to slug to use your power in an efficient way.

So yeah, I guess he will be nerfed/changed.

  • I guess 8 out of 10 times I hit the Skill Check. Could be less if I have a gentapping Teammate on my Gen, because this is irritating for me.

  • @Nyaren_Chan said:

The Pig needs a buff. In my opinion, she should be the next one to have a rework.

Pig isnt even that bad. Once you get your first Trap or two, you are in a very good position. Pig is highly underrated.

    @Topic:

Going for Leatherface here. I think Doctor also would need a Rework, his only really good strategy is to block off some Gens which is boring for both sides... but with Leatherface, it is the lazyness of his existence, he only promotes Camping and his Add Ons are either useless or Copy&Paste from Billy.

Something unique for Leatherface would be nice.

  • @PinkMochaV2 said:

These two perks need nerfs. Seriously. They are too meta.

And while there are some problems on the survivor side as well, DS/Adrenaline/Deadhard aren't anywhere near as prolific as Ruin/BBQ.

    They dont need Nerfs.

Other Perks need to become an option. With Killer there is a little bit more variety in Perks because a) they have overall more Perks which can actually be used and b) every Killer is different (e.g. Enduring is an amazing Perk on many Killers, but you will not use it on Hag or Spirit. Nurses Calling is good on many Killers, but most of the time not used on Standard 32m TR M1-Killers, and useless on Plague, and so on)

But since Survivors are only Skins, they all play the same. And with good Perks getting nerfed (Balanced Landing), it limits the Perks which are considered good.

So instead of nerfing good Perks on either side, weak Perks need to be buffed to become an option.

  • 4K, but 4 Sacrifices so that it cannot be bypassed by using a Mori. Merciless Victory is simply dumb, not only it gets harder because of the Survivors, but you also need to have better Emblems the higher the Rank is. And waiting for Rank Reset (which might be changed anyway) to do Adepts is not a good solution.

So yeah, 4K with Sacrificies, DCs and Moris dont count. This makes it achieveable, even on high Ranks, but not super-easy by just using an Ebony.

  • Without Adrenaline (I dont count this as an Exhaustion Perk) and nerfed Balanced Landing:

    1. Dead Hard-->Assuming it works, it is the best Exhaustion Perk. With nerfed BL, there is no Competition, meaning that Survivors will have 1 Exhaustion Perk they can go for if they want to use one. Cool and great game design.
    2. LIthe-->Much weaker, basically only Number 2 because the rest is even worse. Helps to get some Distance, but is either good with Quick&Quiet and Dance with Me, which is 3 Perks for the Combo, but if you are at a strong Loop (like a Jungle Gym or Shack) the Distance is meaningless since you most likely dont want to leave it.
    3. Head On--> Gimmicky and funny when using, feeling dumb when getting hit by Head On. Its a funny Perk, but not really reliable and also quite risky. Stun is almost meaningless, but you can get a Safe with it.
    4. Sprint Burst-->I simply hate this Perk, nothing is more annoying than to walk to not waste it. Fixated helped a little bit with that, but still, I dont like Sprint Burst and people who go for an Unhook via Walking because they dont want to waste their Sprint Burst.
    5. Balanced Landing-->After the Nerf, the most useless Exhaustion Perk. Highly situational (even more than Lithe) without some special Outcome. Not worth a Perk Slot and easily the worst out of all Exhaustion Perks.
  • Its a Survivor Perk. They are all bad. You dont get good Survivor Perks anymore. This Chapter is no exception.

While it is true that 4 people can have it and this is a reason to not make it stronger, the Pallet Destruction cancels the resetting of the Pallet (similar to Demogorgon cancelling the sealing of the Portal when he is using it) and safe Pallets will and should be kicked immediatly. If you have a strong Pallet like Shack or Jungle Gym, you will kick it anyway. So it will be quite rare that there is a Pallet which can be resettet anyway, in fact, the only times I really see Pallets lying around is vs Spirit or Nurse, but this is logical, they dont really care for Pallets (Spirit to an extend).

I am more concerned about "Breakout" the one where you can wiggle 20% faster. Not for Solo survivors but SWF groups who are gonna body block and be on voice coms and time it right. I mean its not always going to be the case but at those moments its gonna be annoying af.

You will not see Breakout. And also not any of the other Survivor Perks. They are "meh" like they are for the last X Chapters or whatever (MoM aside).

  • When Chapter 14 goes live.

    No ETA yet.

    SOON™

  • Jane gets one. Let me search the image.

    EDIT: Here we go

    https://i.imgur.com/75l0G1g.png

  • After two weeks on live you will not see Yuis Perk(s) very often. Once again, none of the Survivor Perks is somewhat useful and once again will not change the Meta Builds (which get even more boring with the BL-Nerf).

  • Thing is, those Changes would have been tested in the PTB anyway. So once the PTB Patchnotes are out, people would know.

However, I think the 3.4.0.-Patch was the wrong time for the Spirit Nerf. People on the PTB will most likely not test Spirit, because they are testing The Oni. So big flaws will not be noticed.

(A detailed look can only be gained on the Live Server anyway, but BHVR should not expect that many people will test the Spirit Changes when a brand new Killer is also on the PTB)

It's the exact same as it was before, only you can't use the stagger reduction multiple times in a chase. If you were using it multiple times in a chase, I'm willing to bet you were taking advantage of setups that were way too strong (e.g. Haddonfield).

In any case, the killer is meant to be stronger than one survivor in a chase, so they won't be getting a stagger.

There is no point in using Balanced Landing then. It is more situational than Lithe, and Lithe is already not so good.

In the end this will just lead to more people using Dead Hard (when you make it work, eventually...), which results in even less Perk Diversity.

  • @avilmask said:

No one mentions that jumping off now gonna be silent and you actually can stealthily get away with it?

You mean stealthy with all those Scratch Marks you are leaving when running away with your Speed Boost?

  • @Apple2o said:

I think it needed to be very strong in certain parts of the map to make up for it being useless in other parts of the map, or even being nearly non-useable on some maps (shelter woods). It was already kind of a risk to take over dead hard and now it's pretty junk.

    Basically this.

This only leaves Dead Hard as a real option for Exhaustion Perks. I mean, this is exactly how you end up with all Survivors having the same Perks.

  • Why do I always fall for this?

  • The Survivor looks cool.

  • Yes, overall, this is the best solution. It is not the most optimal solution, this would be to give the Event Cosmetics to the people who lost them, but this will be very time-consuming and since they would be stored at the same spot as they are currently in the Files, people would keep losing their Cosmetics, making it a task which might continue forever.

Regarding the Code-Skins, it was peoples will to pay money for it. And they did not even pay the money to BHVR, they paid it to some Resellers. And removing the potential of earning money with the codes is great.

(Still, some people are trying to get money. e.g. there are more Dweard-Cosmetics on Ebay than before, haha)

  • @PolarBear said:

It wouldn't fix the problem. The reduced stagger is the main effect that causes problems on maps like haddonfield. They need to do something about the stagger.

Fixing the Maps would fix the problem. Haddonfield will still not be a Map where you want to be as Killer.

BL should stay like it is, but what could be possible would be that the Stagger Reduction only applies while healthy. This would remove some of the problematic areas if the Killer gets a Hit before (taking the Speed Boost from the Hit to run to the Myers House for example) and also give a reason to heal for BL-Users, which also wastes some time.

But overall: Map Fixes over crippling Perks.

I get saving people from waiting forever... But still sucks when newbies are thrown over their heads due to matchmaking. Ive been paired with rank 20 killers while myself and my entire team were well more than 6 ranks better.

First part: I am not saying that this is any good, it is really bad to be honest, because it does not fulfill the purpose and just screws over low Ranks who want to play with Friends. Just explained how it work.

Later Part: Those are some Edge Cases which are still happening, according to Peanits. They are trying to solve it. (I also had games where the smallest difference was 8 Ranks, the largest (which should be the relevant) was 11... Which is almost double the "allowed" Rank Difference... Like I said, Edge Cases)

That wouldnt really make sense with the pictures OP provided though. Even if those 3 OP got grouped with were a 3 man SWF, they SHOULD be paired with a solo player close to their rank and facing off against a killer close to their rank. If OP was part of the SWF, sure...you could say they were kinda asking to be placed in over their heads due to matchmaking going off OP's rank. If thats not the case though, like in these pics... Matchmaking is failing us.

There is a hard cap of 6 Ranks. It also depends on how long they are searching for a match, ideally they end up in a similar Rank, but I can imagine that a 3 man SWF takes some time to search for a game, especially with such low Ranks.

And if it takes a while, the game checks if any lobby is available, and then there is OPs lobby with 3 free spots and a player who is in between 6 ranks of the highest Player of the SWF.

  • @Froggard728 said:

You could just buy them now. Buy auric cells and pay to unlock each tier instead of working your way through it

This might be way more expensive. E.g. if you want the Claudette Outfit, you will most likely be able to buy it for 1080 Cells when it comes to the Shop eventually.

But for now, depending how much you progress on the Rift, it might cost way more.

I want to encounter people on my rank and not be some SWF space filler.

Don't tell me ranks won't matter.

Chill Dude, dont put things in my mouth I did not say. Something that I really dislike.

You can thank the Devs for that. Because apparently it does not matter if Low Rank Survivors want to play with their Friends. Everyone gets ######### by this, randoms because of the SWF-group and the low Ranks because of the fact that they verse Killers which are much higher Ranks than they are.

So, nope, you are not allowed to have fun in this case. And its not the fault of the SWF either, not everyone play that good or that often to be in higher Ranks/good at the game. Instead of just using an average, you will get paired with those people vs Killers of your Rank. Nothing to be done about.

They wanted to stop bullying of Low Rank Killers with that, but it will not work anyway, whenever someone wants to bully a Low Rank Killer, they will find ways to do it.

(Thats from someone who either plays Solo or 2 man SWF, so I know this struggle that if the other 2 are SWF witha low Rank, we also need to do more to actually have a chance. And meanwhile my other friend started DBD again, but I cannot play with him, because he will not have that much fun to play vs Red Rank Killers, when he is not even able to hit basic Skill Checks...)

  • I mean, if they are SWF, this can happen. The maximum Rank Difference is 6, this is fulfilled, if they are SWF.

I also had a game recently where I was Rank 1 and another person was Rank 6 with their Rank 20 friend (legit a Level 2 David with No Mither). Went as expected, since it was basically a 2v1 instead of a 4v1.

I just go for the Blackpip in this case, I cant be asked to queue up all the time.

They could have the maps darker for survivors and brighter for killers. That's what Battlefront II does for their "horror" mode: the victims need flashlights to see anything while the hunters have great night vision.

Most of the DbD maps are bright as daylight. It really doesn't try much in terms of "horror." Other than using killers from slashers and a few of the mori animations, there's very little in the game that has an actual horror feel to it.

I would darker them for everybody. And if that is not enough, maybe make the Red Stain visible for Killers? Like a Flashlight.

  • @tea said:

So it'll be literally just like this year's Withering Blight from now on? 😕 That's really disappointing, events in DbD used to have a lot of flavor and I liked earning stuff.

    Better than nothing I guess...

I mean, yeah, better than nothing. And they want to focus more on Balance and Optimization, so hopefully we see something coming from that.

But other than that, I am also really disappointed. Because those are no Events anymore. This year was really bad when it came to Events, New Years Event had the Lanterns but was flawed with Offerings too rare in the Bloodweb (at first), 3 Years event was only an Offering you can obtain, no Summer Event at all because they wanted to focus on Dedicated Servers (which were not ready for Summer and are still not even close for being ready) and Halloween was again, just an offering.

If at least the Gens and Hooks would give the Serum...

  • This happens with every game. Play a Horror game which was terrifying for you like 5 times in a row, you will not be scared.

I mean, Amnesia - The Dark Descent was REALLY scary at first. Later you only try to glitch out the monsters instead of running away from them.

Darker Maps would help tho. The Maps dont look dark at all. But yeah, it needs to be easy for Killers to see people I guess...

  • You will get events, but those are no events anymore.

You will not play for anything in those events. You get an offering, you gain more BPs because of this Offering. Thats it.

Stuff will be obtainable via the free Track of the Rift.

  • Yes. I have used the old ones from time to time, mostly when I had some bad games and was thinking that I need the good stuff. I have like 400 in total on my Main Character alone, so I have not used them that often.

I like that some Skill is involved (because you need to extend the chase a little bit for the Syringe) and there is also Counterplay from the Killers side. Regardless of which "Insta Heal" was used, the Killer can wait 10 seconds and he does not have to fear any of them.

Personally, I think healing 1 Health State instantly was not that big of a problem. It was strong, but borderline okish. The Syringe was the real Bullshit, since it brought someone from Dying to Healthy.

  • Just give me a few years and I will have way less hair (sadly I can see the future with my father and grandfather), some paint and I will look like Clown. Without the coughing tho.

  • Depends in which Ranks you are for your easy 4Ks. Because when you play Killer "sometimes", you might be in low Ranks, and Killer is really easy in low ranks.

However, even tho some of the weaker Killer need Buffs or Reworks, it is not that bad for Killers in high Rank. But DBD players in general are whiny.

  • Just be happy that you dont have them.

We got them, they will not go away, because they can always say "It helps us with testing/we get more feedback". This is basically an answer which negates every question and reasoning why they should be removed.

Personally, they are not ready, they will not be ready for Fall 2019. They should be disabled for at least half a year and then they might be ready for another test.

But yeah, just enjoy your game without those wonky Servers. And when you get them, drop a "Thank you" for the Test Monkeys on PC.

  • I kinda seem to miss those 100% highly optimal Squads, because every SWF is like that. At least when I read the Forums.

Most of the SWFs are indeed only friends playing together. They are not super optimal, they dont go into the game with the goal to bully a Killer or anything.

4 Potatoes in a team using Discord does not make them 4 godlike Players.

  • I wish I would not need to equip DS in the first place, but yes, it is fine.

It rarely affects me as Killer and if someone jumps right into my face, I slug them: They might get away by being healed up, but this is just good for me, less people on Gens.

  • It took me 2 games, first game I got 2 Survivors, second game I had like 6 Traps. vs a 3 man SWF.

And, like written above, you can also try to farm, either the whole game (this is what I did for the Grab-Challenges, because either I farm or I play Prayer Beads Spirit...) or try it at the Exit Gates. Usually, if a Trapper puts down a Trap there, I step in it.

(That being said, as long as this Trapper does not take advantage out of it and hooks me... Then I will most likely stop doing that, even for all the nice Trappers)

Considering the devs are aptly attempting to mend this issue by allowing survivors easier ways of obtaining points in the survival category, whilst also having wglf a perk that grants the same bonus as bbq. along with the fact that survivors also have access to the bound envelope which doesn't affect killers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/845743#Comment_845743

This doesn't devalue the discussion? just because there are more "important things" doesn't devalue what im trying to talk about...?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/845806#Comment_845806

Whilst it may not really be an issue, newer killers don't have access to all perks or a variety of addon at their disposal, hell even new released killers don't exactly have access to much of their arsenal. whilst i don't disagree that its more of a want then a need it is an issue i see as something that could be fixed along the way which is why i thought it useful to bring up for discussion. passing a chest as a new trapper player at rank 20, being able to kick it to destroy it with a 2s channelable action in order to buff their abilites that they may not have anything for yet? i see that as something that can only benefit the games health. plus it makes no sense for a killer to be unable to interact with a chest in any way.

"Considering the devs are aptly attempting to mend this issue by allowing survivors easier ways of obtaining points in the survival category, whilst also having wglf a perk that grants the same bonus as bbq. along with the fact that survivors also have access to the bound envelope which doesn't affect killers."

WGLF Tokens are far more difficult to get than BBQ-Stacks. You get BBQ-Stacks for simply doing the Objective, WGLF-Token require to either rush for Unhooks like a mad lad or to take unneccessary Hits to hope it is considered as a Protection hit.

Furthermore, Bound Envelope? This is 25% Bonus BP for 5K Cost. This means, in order to have any profit you have to have at last 20k BP per game. And if another Survivor brings it, yeah, sure, you have some Bonus-BP, but not compared to BBQ.

  • To be fair, even without Enduring 3 seconds is almost nothing. You lose around 1,something seconds for the animation alone.
