Why was the DS buff not reverted?
Version 2.6.0:
DS stun duration : 3 sec
-> has basically 0 effect since most people ran enduring which was lowering the stun duration of ds
Version 2.6.3:
DS stun duration was buffed to 5 secs to make it not completely useless against enduring
Version 3.0.0:
Enduring no longer reduces the stun duration of Deceisive strike
Now Deceisive Strike is the strongest perk in the game and every medium to high ranked survivor uses this perk.
Why was the buff not reverted after the Enduring nerf?

To be fair, even without Enduring 3 seconds is almost nothing. You lose around 1,something seconds for the animation alone.
I agree that enduring should counter DS but i can also see why they made that change, since it would make the enduring/brutal strength/spirit fury combo op and a MUST-HAVE for all killers, except nurse or spirit that can basically just ignore pallets. Enduring was super popular when DS was first changed to counter it for that exact reason so it makes sense that they wouldn't want to revert the change.
Even though those 5s do not fullfil the purpose of anti-tunneling in the slightest. The Killer just restarts the chase. The only Win-situation is for when exit gates are opened and you get to escape, buts thats not the situation DS is supposed to solve. Any nerf to DS Stuntime while not solving the main issue would be a total waste of worktime.
I suspect that they didn't change it because they felt it the killer has a viable counterplay to it that plays into what the devs intended for the perk - to be anti-tunnel.
If it's penalty wasn't tough enough, it wouldn't discourage tunneling hard enough.
One of the devs said that a three second stun is not something that a killer would be worried about. You shouldn't not care whether or not the survivor has DS.
They didn't revert it because it's absolutely fine where it's at. There's counterplay to it except arguably them going into a locker. It has to be semi-punishing otherwise you just eat it and keep chasing (which alot of killers -already do-)
In fact in my experience 99% of the time The Killer seems even more determined to tunnel and kill you. Most seem to really go out of their way to start the chase again so it's really just delaying the inevitable.
Well, here's how I see it:
A) Risk finding another survivor because you "don't want to tunnel", thus losing pressure on survivors by not getting anyone downed and having to trog across the map to find anything.
B) Follow the survivor you KNOW is running in a particular direction, is already injured, and you KNOW doesn't have a Second Chance Perk.
The choice doesn't make itself. Most killers will go out of spite, but its also far more practical gameplay wise because you are still maintaining pressure after Decisive, instead of abruptly ending that pressure over some stigma.
A lot of people have been asking that question, AFAIK the devs never replied.
We love our precious survivors and would do anything to improve their game experience even if this means going 5 steps back :>
At least DS now isnt a free escape for no reason....
I don’t no why everyone complains about ds, if your. Being ds then you enjoy following the same person and you deserve to get dsd
Just dont tunnel and it wont matter or do tunnel and remove it early.
I mean...just don't tunnel people off hook? Then youwouldn't have to worry about getting dstriked
Because survivors like it this way.
