Why do you even save them in the first place? If they dont want to play the game, they wont change their mind if you rescue them.

If you play him quite often youd realize he's not a good killer at all these days anybody that plays hillbilly for 100 hours realizes that he's defs low a or b tier
I guarantee, if they would remove Overheat, the number of Hillbilly-players will not increase that much. Some just dropped him because things like Crack-Billy or Instasaw were not possible anymore.
But I am very sure that the animations are the main reason. He just does not feel right. And this would not change if you would remove Overheat.

Imagine if they put an "Fatigue" meter in for Survivors who hold the run button too long because "It's barely noticeable. You have to fail A LOT to actually get fatigued and at this point, it is deserved."
Since running is a basic mechanic and not a Killer Power your argument is already pretty flawed.

Person that doesn't play hillbilly confirmed 👍
I play him quite often. Not as much as before they messed up his animations. But maybe YOU should play some Hillbilly and see that the Overheat is not that big of a deal.

This reminds me of watching McLean reacting to Scott Jund's patch 7.0 video when it got to the billy changes and the oni drift addon in particular and he just shuts it down and goes "No let killers be different" and my first thought was "Why don't you let killers be actually good then?"
Honestly at this point I don't think Hillbilly should bump anymore at all unless hes straight up grinding into the side of a wall face first.
Hillbilly is still good. The main thing which sucks about him is the FoV and the Animations. Because he feels very janky because of it. Also his Add Ons are more on the bad side, which is not even the worst, since he does not really need Add Ons to begin with. But doing Bloodwebs on him feels like a waste (almost as much as doing Survivor Bloodwebs, lel).
Overheat is barely noticeable. You have to fail A LOT to actually Overheat and at this point, it is deserved.

There's currently a longer than normal waiting time with Support I'm afraid.
It is not really "waiting time" when there is no response at all. The last 3 tickets I submitted were months ago, all about Hackers. I did get an automatic response after a few days that there is a huge workload and thats it. Afterwards, I did not bother to file any tickets, because if I dont get any HUMAN reaction, I assume that nobody works on them.
And I am probably not the only one thinking like that.

Em honey, people are doing that even without the in-game system that tell you who is in SWF. Just look into their steam profile - friends and if the players with the same nickname in game are also in their friendlist that means they're SWF. If they have private profile they also for 99% are in SWF. Besides if you want to implement penalty for dodging a lobby then have waiting for +30 minutes or even longer for a game as survivor. Or maybe you would prefer to bully a bot killer? :)
Yeah, would be nice if you would not call me "Honey". First of all, I am not your "Honey" and second it is pretty disrespectful to call people like that when you dont know them.
But, yeah, it is even bad enough that Killers can already stalk profiles, this should not be possible. There is already enough cherrypicking done by Killers to get the easiest games, so it should not be enforced anymore by showing SWF in the Lobby.
-
@PlayTwink said:
I think we should see who's playing in SWF as the killer in lobby. Thanks to this we could quit and find a new bunch of survivors until they're solos.
This would only be acceptable if there would be a penalty for Lobbydodging. Otherwise Killers would just dodge Lobbies until they get a Lobby of 4 Solos which they can stomp.
@Topic:
I would be for it, however, BHVR will probably not do it. You already get a lot of toxicity when playing in an SWF, would probably increase even more when Killers can actually see that.
And well, players who claim they only lose against SWFs (like some popular Streamers) will lose their excuse for losing if they cannot assume that every team they face is some 4 man SWF.

I've got 2 inside snowmen right now, refusing to do the last gen because i won't hit them out of their costumes.
So all of you are holding the game hostage. Great.
-
I mean, those players who do that would probably not be useful without Snowmen either. At least you dont see them crouching around the Map anymore when they are inside a Snowman.
-
Honestly, neither of those gets me. What gets me is really, really bad behavior in Postgame Chat. I dont mind if someone tells me that I suck at Killer or Survivor. Or complains about losing.
But just yesterday I had a Killer tunneling me for 5 Gens in total (first 3 Gens and after I got unhooked, the next 2 Gens). He was saying that I exploited the Map and that I am an F-Word. When I responded that they should learn when to drop a chase, they said they tunneled me because of my F-Word Charm (I am wearing the pride charm).
Saying that people "like me" (he means F-Words) should be hanged and called me some other things I dont really want to mention here.
THIS Is behavior which is far worse than teabagging, clicking or anything else which can happen IN a match. Especially if it hits someone who seriously can be hurt by things like that and can have emotional problems, maybe because they experienced something like that in Real Life and it happens again when they are playing a game which has the purpose to enjoy things and having fun.
Sadly I did not file an ingame Report, but I will try to contact Support regardless. I am afraid nothing can be done (because I really forgot to create the ingame Report in the heat of the moment while taking Screenshots...), but I can at least try. I take teabaggers and Killers hitting on Hooks all the time over "people" like this.
(I mean, someone who teabags or Hits someone on Hooks can still be a very nice person in Real Life. But someone who writes stuff like this, even when in rage... Not so much)

Hag can be considered a "power spike" killer.
At the start of the game she's basically a no power 110% killer.
But if she manages to keep survivors injured and trap all relevant places she gets a huge power spike and can snowball even experienced survivors in a matter of seconds.
However an aggressive team will try and deny said power spike by popping traps when Hag carries someone to the hook or by using a flashlight (which doesn't necessarily mean that Hag will lose).
Basically this.
IMO the game drastically changes once the Hag gets the first Hook.

The Spirit-Skin looks really good. But Spirit already has a lot of really good Skins, so there is big competition. I was thinking about buying it, but I have already bought multiple Outfits for Spirit, so I am holding back for now.
Maybe other players feel similar.
For Ghostface, I dont really like the Skin. But it also makes him stand out a lot, which is not helpful.

Elephant thong Clown when?

If someone asks why the Devs dont listen to Killers (they do listen to Killers), I will link them this thread.
Really, such an non-issue. Survivors dont really get distance with a Snowman. And they cannot really do anything while in it. A few days into the event, they will probably ignore the Snowmans, because they got all the Event Items.

If you're going to use Spirit I'd probably pick three of these four: Jolt, Sloppy Butcher, Bitter Murmur, and Fearmonger.
You could use NOED but you probably want to win quicker than that if you need merciless killer.
You can get away with NOED in Ash Grade. So shortly after Rank Reset.
@Topic:
Personally I would go for Whispers, Sloppy Butcher and Jolt or Fearmonger. And then probably Legion, since they have an easy time pipping.
-
If you have completed the Rift, you get nothing (also no Notification) if Rift Fragments are in the Advent Calendar.
-
I mean, it is logical. Killer players complain about sweaty Survivors, but keep running the same sweaty Builds and keep the same scummy playstyles, just to get more sweaty Survivors.
-
Killers would like to have the easiest games and still run their strongest stuff. They would just beat up Solos all day.
So, two sides will have long queues - SWFs, because Killers want easy games. And Killers who opted out of SWF-games, because many would do that and most games have at least a 2 man SWF (this is my guess at least).
-
You cannot expect anything else if BHVR decides to design another Killer which cannot be looped.

You would need tenacity to get to the area
And if a Survivor uses Tenactiy, the Killer will even be less likely to slug them. Because Tenacity means that the Survivor might have something planned (e.g. getting into the Boon-area or just using Power Struggle and Flip Flop).
Or, at the very least, you will not find a slugged Survivor if they raced off with Tenacity.
So while it is true that you probably need to pair Boon: Exponential with Tenacity, I think it makes it even less likely to get slugged.

Also the actual next chapter will probably be licensed, we’re about due for another licensed killer. There were rumors about who the next license might be but you can Google those if you want. 🤷♂️
Those rumors were based on Map Pieces, which in fact were used for the new Map which was released with The Artist. So I would not give that much on those rumors anymore.
@Topic:
There will be a Midchapter. Those usually happen 6 weeks after the Chapter Release, however, Chistmas is coming up. So a Midchapter-PTB will not launch before January, so the MidChapter can be expected late January to mid February I guess. And from this onwards it will be six weeks until the Chapter 23 will be released.
The past Chapters around this time:
Demise of the Faithful --> 19th of March 2019
Chains of Hate --> 10th of March 2020
All-Kill -->30th of March 2021
So a Release around March is something which would make sense.

my issue though is it should be hard but not to the point of impossible, at least just remove dead hard and BT and DS so i can tunnel people out of the game until this issue is solved. Don't do that but its how i feel

Ähhm do you have an example for a sweaty killer build I'm not 100% sure hat I use on every one of my killer but as legion for example I use tana discordance pop and one perk I alter like I feel is that sweaty? I'm not the most experienced player but I know I don't even have stuff like ruin undying BBQ devour
Oh, I did not mean the build only. But some players really camp a lot, try to onehook Survivors, tunnel, etc... And wonder why they get strong Survivors. Personally, I would say that something like 4 Slowdown-Perks is pretty sweaty.
But you dont seem to have many Perks in general. (On a side note, really get Bubba and BBQ, this makes the grind much easier)
A thing is also that gaining SBMM-Rating as Killer is a lot easier than Survivor. So I guess you will find decent Survivors in lower MMR-Regions, simply because they dont manage to rank up, despite being decent. You can be the best looper in the game, but when you die in the end because you dont care about escaping, you wont gain MMR.
-
Dwelf is the only one. Box-Dwight is just the cheap copy.

Maybe it's meant to do this but it's not working and one reason why is cause we have not enough killers so you get sweaty swfs with much higher mmr and more experience and that's cause the game is in a bad state for killer atm
What are your Killer Builds? Because usually the players who play sweaty themselves are those who complain about sweaty players... And they counter them by playing sweaty, which gives them more of those players.
@Topic:
Bad idea. This is used for tournaments, but in tournaments also the Killer has some rules to follow (e.g. no Add Ons above yellow Add Ons or some Add Ons are just banned). Limiting one side to tournament levels would be the wrong way.
It would make tunneling really easy. You have a 25% chance to get hit by DS, so you just tunnel every Survivor. If they have DS, unlucky, but you know that now all 4 Survivors are free to tunnel. If they dont have DS, you can just tunnel them a second time. Does not sound good.
Let alone that also Survivor players paid for the game and grinded the Perks. It would be bad if you would remove their ability to play how they want to, just because you think it is unfair that some players use the same Perks. And even just friends who play together use the same Perks - I play with one friend I know for 20 years. And 3 out of 4 Perks are the same for both of us, why should we be limited, despite being just friends who play together?
-
Maybe you should play Survivor first before you go onto Rants what should be nerfed.
Killer is harder than Survivor, but this should be expected. It would be unsreasonable that the "1" in the 1v4 has it easier...
For me, Survivor is more stressful, but easier. Because I tend to be annoyed by Teammates a lot. If I play Killer I at least know that I am the idiot.
-
I dont think this is even a real question. Gift of Pain is okish, but Pain Resonance is way better.
-
Killer: NOED and Gen Regression. The first one is just cheap and in my opinion the game is lost when 5 Gens are done. And I dislike Slowdown-Perks because I think they make the game too easy.
Survivor: None. There are good Perks which I dislike, but I only avoid them because I dont like them and not because I want to be nice or anything (e.g. Sprint Burst).
-
@FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:
She was overnerfed. What Survivors and BHVR don't get is if a Killers have two types: S-Tier strong and F-Tier useless. There's no good reason to play anything but the best Killers; medicore killers are just for dailies and challenges.
Or you play Killers because you enjoy them. I like playing Trapper, so I play Trapper. But should I expect to win every game? Heck, no, I am playing Trapper. A Killer who needs to collect his power from the ground.
If you only care for winning, yes, you have to play S-Tier Killers. But if you just want to have fun, you can play any Killer.
-
I would not count on Bloodborne at all. It is owned by Sony and they are still quite stingy when it comes to the license. There are rumors about a PC-Version (and a Bloodborne Remastered, done by Bluepoint), but until this is actually confirmed and released, I would not say that a Bloodborne-Chapter is possible.
Dark Souls on the other hand would be more possible. However, the Killer would probably be just a Knight. And while I agree that a Knight is missing currently, you dont need a License to realize it. Also, the more prominent characters all have abilities which would be hard to implement in DBD.

That's verifiably false for most loud noises, read the wiki on this one.
To OP: with the exception of the hook bubble one, they've always had a maximum range to them, it's not a new thing.
To be fair, the wiki is not always correct and it is also not official. It has had its errors multiple times already.
-
Boons in general dont really need many changes. The only change I would propose is that it only works on the floor where the Boon is located. Because the general mechanic of Boons works in a way that the Killer can snuff it out fast. However, if the Boon is located in the upper floor of Disturbed Ward Main Building, the Killer has to spend some time walking there while the Survivors can heal outside of it.
Or when the Boon is in the center of some corridors on Midwich - the Killer has to spend a lot of time to get there to snuff it out. Let alone that multi-floor Maps basicallly double the range.
A change like this would at least mean that the Survivors have to spend time to get there as well so they either have to spend more time or are more likely to use it in areas where the Killer can also snuff it out.
The only change I would make is to Circle of Healing or Healing Speeds. Either cap them at a certain amount so that it is never possible under any circumstances to have a faster healing speed than 150% (this is just a number I throw in now).
Or, even better - make the Heals from CoH a fixed number. Self-Heal is ALWAYS 16 seconds and healing others is ALWAYS 8 seconds. So Medkits, Botany Knowledge, Sloppy Butcher, Coulrophia, We Will Make It and all of this does not matter. This would still make healing with CoH worth it, but would also remove the possibility to get heals of 4 seconds with a specific build.

Oh yeah, the same old song that never corresponds to reality of "you just stopped playing the killer because it's not easy anymore"
If nerfing killers only gets rid of the bad players, then were are all the "good" players? Because whenever a killer gets nerfed you just stop seeing it.
Where all are the good Freddys, Billys, Spirits who supposedly didn't get carried by add-ons and other stuff?
For Nurse, it is true. Otz even had a video on his channel just a few days ago stating that 3 Blinks Nurse is easy mode. And back in the day 3 Blinks were way more common.
I also see a good share of Nurse players nowadays, not as many as before the Nerf, but more than the first few months after her Nerf.
When it comes to Spirit, she plays roughly the same. She is even easier than before, if you use MDR and the Cherry Blossom, the game plays for you at this point.
And regarding Billy, I still think that not the Overheat killed his playerbase. It was already dropping when they changed his animations before they added Overheat and nerfed the Add Ons. And up to this day Billy does not feel the same as before, his animations and FoV are different. The latter can be somewhat fixed with Shadowborn, but I totally get why someone does not want to run Shadowborn on Billy just to feel a little bit more like "old Billy".
Also his collision is so annoying. I played tons of Billy before the Nerf and since they changed the animations, I played a lot less, simply because he felt so much different.
(But also his Add Ons before were really making him easier. Billy should never had Chargetime Add Ons and his Cooldown-Add Ons made it almost not punishing to miss chainsaw hits... Let alone allowing him to change from mobility to chase way faster than nowadays)

Leave it as last and just play the game normally and you're bound to get it at some point without even trying.
There are some really badly designed challenges but just because it's a challenge that will take a couple of tries doesn't mean it's bad.
This is how I usually do it. This time I left another Challenge for last (the one where you have to heal a Survivor in EGC), but usually it is alright to leave the more annoying Challenges until the end and they will be done eventually.
It is also alright that it takes longer. There are 3 weeks between Tome Level 3 and Tome Level 4, the challenges should not be completed after three days.

Survivors are a team of 4 regardless if you queue solo or with friends.
Also weird how it's only survivor skill that matters to you, because as soon as I mention that 1v1 killers require skill to play effectively you blame me for "ignoring skill".
Typical survivor main bias right here.
Killers can also show their Skill when being looped. Or their lack of Skill. And IMO it is more satisfying to outplay a Survivor on a Loop than catching them because they hold Shift + W and I catch them eventually just because I am faster.
And I would also disagree that you really have a team. Obviously, because there are 4 people on one side this can mean that they form a team, however, is a team really a team when there is no coordination? DBD does not feel like a 4v1 at times, more like a 1v1v1v1v1... Or sometimes some Survivors are so bad that it feels like a 2v3 for my friend and myself if we play together.
Not saying that the game is 1v1 in general. But the 1v1 aspect should not be ignored. You cannot just say that Survivors should auto-lose chases just because it is a 4v1-game.

Because going out of your way to the corner of the map to spend 3 seconds to snuff out a boon totem that will be reblessed there when you have gens on the otherside of the map to protect is a great use of killer's time.
This is the ultimate issue with boons. It does not matter that a killer can snuff them out. It doesn't matter the act of snuffing out the boon is quick, because it's a time sink when it involves doing nothing else as the 1 player in a 1v4.
Boons are simply fundamentally broken by design.
When you mention the time spend for a Killer to walk to a Boon, you also have to think about the fact that the Survivor spends the same time to go to said Boon to heal. So at some point the Boon will either be in an area which is not relevant for the Killer and the Survivor will not really save time while healing OR the Survivors relocate the Boon to the area of action, which makes them spend more time setting up the Boon (and makes it easier for Killers to snuff it).
-
I mostly play Nea. I am male, but I prefer to play female Characters in games. Especially with Character creation, I spent a lot of time on my Code Vein Character for example, just because of the many options the character creation has.
For Killer, I just play what I like. Which is currently mostly Nurse, Blight, Billy, Pig, Wraith or Demo. But sometimes I also play Killers which got a new Skin I like, e.g. I really like the new Spirit Skin and if I get it, I play a bunch of Spirit games to show it off.
-
The BPs, but those are only interesting on the higher Levels. At max. Playing Killer generates far more BPs, so unless you have a Challenge which really gives a lot of BPs as Survivor, you will still gain more BPs when playing Killer. (e.g. a Challenge which brings 25k BPs in the Tome will probably give you less BPs when playing as Survivor than one game as Killer)
The Lore is also locked behind the challenges, so if you care for Lore, this would be the reward. And Rift Fragments, if you need them.
But aside from those, nope, it is only for completion.

fun is subjective, therefore the quotation marks.
if you find something unfun, that is your subjective opinion, not an objective truth.
after all, there are a ton of players who think its fun to bang all gens in 5 minutes and insta leave / hardcamp someone / sit in a corner all game, all of which i would not consider to be "fun".
Me neither. But if the Killer is too bad to stop that, nothing can really be done. I mean, I can try to go into chases, but then the Killer might think that they get bullied. Because Killers also dont enjoy when Survivors are not on Gens but want to be chased.
In general, Killers dont enjoy Survivors unless they are on the Hook.
When it comes to "hardcamping" players, the motivation behind that might just be that they want to reduce the fun for the other side. Which is at least some form of motivation, but it will not be the own fun. (Unless someone is a sadist)
-
I wear camouflage-gear and talk to my friend in codewords. At least this is how all SWFs play, according to some Killers.
In reality, I am less optimal since I am talking a lot to a friend about anything which is not DBD. Except for some Rants about teammates.

Ah the good ol unfun to go against and can't do anything against her arguments unanimously agreed by everyone no doubt.
It's not definitely just very personal opinion while there are many others who like facing her.
Nah, you can hold W against her. Which is so much fun for Killer and Survivor. The Survivor can be the most skilled Survivor player and is not able to show it and the Killer cannot do anything except for following. If you prefer that - go for it.
I doubt that she will be as unfun to verse like Twins for me (which are the first Killer who made me at least think about just suiciding on Hook every game against them), but she is certainly not my favorite. Because I dont really enjoy holding W.

It's fully possible that the devs just wanted to shake up the meta, or make sure Boons are note-worthy.
Which they should be, since this was a brand new mechanic.
Obviously they wanted them to be useful. You cannot release a Solo Survivor Paragraph and use the same 3 ######### Perks like they normally do for Survivors. Aside from Mettle of Man, Survivors would not need to do a single Bloodweb for years, since no Perks were really good.
But Boons changed that and it is a good thing. You want things that actually make Survivors change their build. It would have been really bad if they would released Boons as a new Mechanic, create a Survivor in a Survivor-only Paragraph for it and then they just suck.
Personally, they can nerf them into the ground, I dont care, because I dont play Boons. And probably never will. But for the Meta itself it is good that they exist.

Buffs?! You mean after they nerf killers before they leave PTB but take forever to address the brokenness they create on the survivor side. The devs have nerfed all things killer related so much they even try to word the changes like they're buffs or somehow making the killer better like some politician trying hard to care during election season.
You must be kidding. Hex totems will spawn directly in front of survs at the start of the game, takes seconds to destroy, and you NEVER get it back. No one cares about the loud noise or the pretty colors of boons when you can REMAKE THEM ANYWAY, often with whole teams carrying them. Boons don't need to work map wide because they cover large areas and give free self healing. Don't try that equivalent BS.
"Don't try that equivalent BS." says the guy who compared Hexes and Boons in the first place...
Killer got better and better over the years. Before Boons were introduced, Killer has been the easiest it ever was. CoH makes it harder for Killer and I am ok with that. And honestly, I dont think I really lose games because of Circle of Healing, the only times where I remember that is when it is used on multifloor Indoor Maps, and I am even saying that they should only work on the respective floor.
But you cannot really say that Killer is hard. It is harder than Survivor, but overall, DBD is a very easy game.
