Since you seem so certain about this, would be interested to know what is "close" to a DBD killer, in your opinion.

I dont think it is possible to kill DBD. Maybe a game can co-exist, but only if it differs from DBD a lot. Even if you make a game which is close to DBD, you will also have imbalance there. And you dont have that many licenses, all those licensed characters give DBD an edge over any potential competition.

If you are a fan of the Halloween-franchise, which game do you play? Obviously the one which has Michael Myers as a Killer.

Competition to DBD would only be possible if they make the game quite close in gameplay, but feeling more unique (and better) than DBD AND manage to acquire some licenses. But at least the last part will only be possible if the first part is fulfilled and there is a decent amount of players.

  • You should have told me that CMWinter is the content creator. I dont really want to give clicks to his "person". (I also dont think that he is a good player, but eh.)

And I play Killer as well. I rarely see Boons in my games, for me it is DH or Sprint Burst, DS, BT, Iron Will, UB and stuff like that. But almost no Boons.

  • They should rework Stridor to something else. Even when it countered Iron Will it was only used by exactly 1 Killer. It would make way more sense to rework it and give it a completely different effect which might be useful on more Killers.

  • Maybe Overcome will be useful, but IMO it is outclassed by Sprint Burst and Dead Hard. It is not the worst Exhaustion-Perk, but certainly not the best.

The Boon is bad. It is outclassed by Unbreakable and even UB is already really situational. Yes, the Boon grants a very fast Recovery and can be used multiple times, but you need to the Totem up for that. So UB is already stronger, it is slower and one-time, but does not need preparation. IMO the new Boon will not be played.

    The last Perk is crap.

Lucky for you that only one survivor needs it for you to get the benefit.

I almost never see Boon-Perks in my games. But again, I dont think they are better than the "old" Meta. (But they are a new Strawman why bad Killers lose games :> )

  • If you have problems with players teabagging, you should not play Onlinegames.

I'd either want this or nerf that is similar to waking up as Freddy. Everytime your boon is snuffed, it'll take another 8 seconds the following time you bless a totem, then another 8 if its snuffed again and so on.

This would kill Boons. This is almost like "Make them one time use", which is one of the worst suggestions.

14 seconds for blessing a Dull Totem would turn into 22 after one snuffing. I did the Achievement to bless 20 Hex-Totems (and I will never use Boon-Perks again, because IMO they are not better than the Perks I used before), which is 24 seconds each. This was a painfully long time.

If it would be 22 after one snuffing, I dont think many players will bless a second time. Or even 30 seconds and onwards.

Pay more attention buddy. It’s a crap game, but vhs beta has launched and coincidentally we have a blood hunt at the same time despite never having had one at this time of year beforehand. They shouldn’t be threatened, at least not by vhs, but they clearly are.

it’s a good sign. They’re smart and paying attention. Gotta put up or shut down.

go ahead and think I’m crazy- I’m not. Dbd will vastly improve soon or fade away. My money is on the first.

VHS is no competition. Not even close.

All the Killers who claim that they get "bullied" in DBD (which often just means that Survivors won the game...) will not have a good time in VHS if Survivors can fight back there.

VHS is just one of those asymmetrical games which is announced as a new DBD-Killer by the community and will then die like any other "competition".

  • DBD has competition? Would be new to me.

  • @Iudex_Nemesis said:

The bloodhunt should have started after the new chapter released.

I've already reached the limit and I'm only spending my bloodpoints on the new killer.

I mean, it is clear that they are not doing this. Otherwise many people would be finished with the new Characters too fast.

I also have everything unlocked and on all Characters, so this Bloodhunt does not really feel exciting. It is mainly to have some more Add Ons I use on my Killers.

Power is VHS shifts throughout the match. Sometimes the monster will be dominating the Teens, and then the next moment Teens have the upper hand.

VHS is not a bully simulator.

The Monster has abilities to disrupt and harass Teens, and there are multiple systems in place to make sure bullying isn't possible unless you're REALLY bad.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2660315#Comment_2660315

They're wrong. You can queue up as Teen or Monster, but the monster player is hidden in the lobby and looks just like another Teen.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2660315#Comment_2660315

no you can select which role you want to play as.

its just that the lobby shows everyone as teens so you see who you play with without revealing the monster.

the monster also starts out as a teen at the beginning, but once they drop the disguise its gone for the rest of the game (i do think that hides their equivalent of a terror radius, so its a decent early game stealth tool).

Ok, thank you for the explanation.

The way it was described it first just seemed to be very bad, getting a role at random. But this makes more sense.

Unfortunately people will dodge you just for having a private profile. Partly due to fear of SWF but also because of the hacking problem. Lots of hackers have private profiles, so people began dodging them for fear of hackers.

Eh, Killers dodge for everything. My Lobby got dodged 6 times, probably because one Survivor had a Toolbox.

Another time the whole lobby got dodged because we were all ready. Killers complain about quickswitches, but if there are 4 Survivors without Items, all on ready, they are also scared and dodge.

But for real, nobody should see that I have a few hundred hours in Super Seducer.

  • @Rougual said:

Its an interesting concept and I love that the Killer is decided at random.

Seems more chill and either outcome you can have a good back and forth experience.

So everyone queues up and one person is the Killer?

Great, this sounds like people disconnecting if they are Survivor and want to play Killer and vice-versa.

But in the end, it does not matter, the game will be irrelevant rather sooner than later.

  • None, because my profile is privat. Otherwise Killers would dodge me too much in DBD due to my hours.

Also nobody should see all the spicy games I am playing. :>

  • I got Claire. I like her more than Jill. But I only got her because they now have a different voice and name in the Lobby, which makes the price alright for me. Before they were too expensive.

  • I have not seen Shadowstep at all since CoH was enabled again. I rarely see Boons in my Killer games, my Survivors mostly just use the "old" Meta.

Not in my experience. Good Survivors can juke it, just like a Nurse blink.

Thing is, even if you juke a Nurse, she still gets at least one extra Blink to correct. Juke Pinhead and you gain MASSIVE distance against a very mediocre power.

I mean, could totally be different for others. You are also on Console, which makes Pinheads Power harder to use.

But for me, I dont have any problems to hit with the Chain. (But I also played only Pinhead for some time from start to P3-50 with all Perks, so I played him a lot... He is also fun to play, but not as fun as those Killers I enjoy more)

Why change the interaction with hoarder and FD though ? It's the best thing about PH's design imo. A killer who's power is unique and strong enough that running what would normally be quite memey perks for any serious loadout become a good reasonable trade off to increase consistency of his power.

It's the same for Nemesis and his vaccines or huntress's iron maiden etc.

Besides you can play around it, hoarder has area of effect so if the killer is close, don't pick up the cube or be able to loop PH for a bit. It's a nice combo that has very unique feeling for him but it's nothing that wins the game instantly by itself and you're giving up 2 perk slots for it.

"It's the best thing about PH's design imo."

The Devs seem to think otherwise. But because Killers wanted to keep this interaction (because, you know, standard-killer stuff... "This Killer is gutted!!111"...), they are nerfing the next best thing. Which makes Pinhead (or to be more precise, his Add-Ons) worse for everyone. Yay.

It is not like you cannot play Pinhead without Hoarder/Franklins. But a Pinhead with this combo is not really what the Devs wanted to have, so they are nerfing the Add-Ons to make the combo less effective. This results in the Add-Ons being worse for players who dont use them with Hoarder/Franklins and Hoarder still has the potential to be hold back (aka not getting Buffs), because it might become too good on Pinhead.

"giving up 2 perk slots for it" is not really an argument IMO. With that you can justify everything, no Killer should ever complain about DS and DH, because you are giving up two Perk slots for it. I get that you mean that Killers cannot go super-easy and run 4 Slowdowns when two Slots are used for Hoarder/Franklins, but they can still get a lot of Slowdown with two Perk Slots AND this combo.

But, because I like to use at least one Box Slowdown when I play Pinhead, I would rather prefer his interaction with Hoarder being changed. But because other players used this combo and the Devs dont seem to like it, I also lose one of the Add Ons I usually run.

Chains definitely aren't easy to land on PC, definitely difficult on Console too.

I don't think that justifies the strength of Engineer's Fang, but they are skill shots.

"Skill shots"... Not really. Hitting chains is quite easy. Even easier because you can basically let the portal appear directly behind the Survivor.

Takes some practice, but at least on PC it is not really hard IMO.

  • Sadly they dont start the Bloodhunt when the new Chapter drops. But it is expected.

  • To be fair, the Devs dont need a reason. They can just change what they want. And dont need to give an explanation. If they like, they can change every Killer to 105 Movement Speed. Or buff Nurse to her Release State.

When it comes to Pinhead: IMO Engineers Fang is pretty clear. Someone who does think that this Add On does not need any Nerf is biased.

I dont think they should have nerfed anything else, however, they should have removed the interaction with Hoarder and Franklins Demise. But players wanted this to stay in the game. Now they nerf the next best thing, which is the respective Add Ons. So yeah, they listened to Killer players on that one.

  • You dont need to be sweaty to get more than 0Ks. I also play mainly for fun and dont use Slowdowns. I would probably win more games if I would use Slowdowns (after all, stacking Slowdown-Perks is the easiest way to play Killer), but I could care less about getting 4Ks nowadays.

  • I mean, not that it matters. Maybe they will change some parameters, but MMR will stay in the game. They will not go back to ranked Matchmaking and IMO Rank Matchmaking was even worse.

But I also doubt that they tweak MMR when they end up on "Kills and Escapes matter" after so much time.

(Even so, I might be wrong on that one, on my Huntress I get a lot of really bad Survivors lately. Which happened all of a sudden.)

  • So you base your opinion on one game?

  • I dont BM a Killer. And I almost never see Killers without complete builds, only happens when a new Killer is released.

But if someone wants to play a Killer with 1 Tier 1-Perk, it is their fault. And they should not really expect to win. You can earn BPs pretty easy as Killer to get at least a semi-decent Build quite fast.

  • Sure that the Survivor did not Kobe? Some Survivors try to do the 4% when they are about to get unhooked, so this might have happened.

  • Jesus, now we have this discussion because someone says it should not be removed.

  • Neither of them. I am not running Unbreakable, because I think it is too situational. Boon: Exponential is even more situational and I dont think Boon-Perks are that great anyway. Cant be bothered to spend 14 seconds on a Totem so that the Killer can snuff this out in a second. IMO way too overrated, not many people will use the new Boon-Perk.

  • The game is not as badly balanced as some people state it to be. Even Killer players who complain on a constant basis on the Forums will probably win more games than they lose.

  • You can use the search function to find a lot of Threads from other people who did not thought about this idea well enough. Then you have the answer why Ingame Voicechat is not a solution.

More information for Solos to lift them up to SWF-Level (or as close as possible) - yes. But Voicechat - hell, no.

Boons are likely a much larger factor than MMR.

Killer was great when MMR came out at firstn then it kinda plateaued as peoples MMR grew and settled.

But Boons were an instant blow to killers. I literally won't play anyone other than Plague and Ghostface because of them. Any M1 killer is useless because hit and run doesn't work, any aura reading is useless so no more Mirror Myers, Lifeguard Lichen Demo, Nurses PH, etc.

"Just do bone kek kek kek"

It doesn't just take the killer 2s to snuff a boon, it takes 2s + travel time + dropping chase, all of which can add up to 15-60 seconds of wasted time. Then they just rebless it again anyway. SWF can literally have one immersed blendette doing nothing but Boons and they still have enough gen pressure to escape with 0K.

As a killer, you give up on snuffing boons, because you know it's pointless. They're permanent fixtures, unlike Hexes which vanish in 20 seconds.

This has nothing to do with what I wrote, but thank you for your input I guess.

Right now gens fly even if you have regression cause CI doesn't last forever, ruin gets cleansed 5 secs into the match and you rarely ever get a chance to use pgtw vs a good swf

So yes in other words blood warden and nwo are becoming meta perks slowly

Quite a stretch that you say that you dont really get to use PGTW but then say that No Way Out becomes meta, when their requirements are the same: Getting Hooks.

  • Because they added breakable Walls to the map. Those breakable Walls make a bunch of Pallets not useable, because you end up in a Deadzone. So more Pallets were added to compensate for it.

Beside that, The Game was always a Map which only has Pallets and next to no windows. It was always the most boring Map to play on, as Survivor you do nothing than running around safe Pallets and as Killer you are doing the same.

To start, it would help if they would remove all breakable Walls and the Pallets added to compensate for the Deadends. In the long run, it would help if they add more Windows and remove some safe Pallets and replace them with unsafe ones to make gameplay more interesting on the map.

It has been gradual for me. They keep getting longer and longer.

You had instant queues into long waits right on the 13th? Are there threads about it that I missed?

Not instant. I would say my Survivor queues were like 1-2 minutes in the evening, Killer was like 30 seconds. Over the day, Killer was like 5 minutes and Survivor was instant.

But since a few days, Survivor takes 5 minutes in the evening. Killer is instant. Over the day it is still the same.

But as I said, I also notice that the quality of Survivors at least on my Huntress games is way lower now. It could be SWFs playing and bringing all their Newbie-Friends, but it is almost every Survivor I have faced yesterday. And Huntress is a Killer I play quite frequently, because the skilled Huntress Achievement is the last one I need. I played her the first time since the Reset yesterday and got Survivors who were way weaker and I did not go on a big loss streak before.

(It could be just a coincidence, the sample size is pretty small.)

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

It is worth noting that the minimum requirements and recommended requirements are wildly outdated and could really do with an upgrade.

    Pretty much this.

My GPU is barely better than the recommended one and I only manage to do Medium Settings for stable 60 FPS. So the actual requirements are probably higher, the Recommended are closer to low than anything else.

  • Because it is a busted Add-On on a Killer who is not really that good. They changed a bit on Myers quite recently, however, it did not really lift him up and busted Add-Ons like Fragrant Tuft and Tombstone Piece are still around.

  • And now everyone pretends again that playing Killer is SO HARD and this is why Killers quit. Always the same nonsense. Really, it gets tiresome.

    @Topic:

I dont know what changed, but something changed. Survivor Queues got longer all of the sudden with the latest Grade Reset. This also shows it is not Killers quitting the game, this would be a gradual process and not from one day to the other.

If I would have to guess, I would say that it is because they changed something with MMR. Before it seemed like there were too many Killers on the high(er) MMR-Scale, because it is easier to get high MMR as Killer than Survivor. This would also explain why I got a bunch of Baby Survivors with my Huntress, I did play her today and the Survivors I got were way worse than my usual Survivors I get with her. I dont expect very strong Survivors, because I am not a great Huntress, but those were way worse and it was not even close to a challenge.

And again - this happened basically instantly.

  • It is most likely an oversight which will be fixed at some point. There is 0 reason why DS should not be disabled.

  • @beatddb said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2651561#Comment_2651561

Sloppy is a ######### perk anyway, mangled only adds 4 or so seconds to a heal and with the boon totems is literally worthless. If this means an indirect buff to sloppy, I'd be more than happy with that

Sloppy Butcher is a good Perk. It does not need Buffs, they made it decent when they added the Mangled-effect.

And I mean, there have been situations where I was not healed the whole game, since I nobody healed me after an Unhook and I was not able to find a Medkit in Chests. Survivors should not be forced to run Self-Care or CoH to avoid this.

Bleeding out twice as fast would also just make slugging stronger. Slugging is already strong and it should not get an extra incentive to do.

IMO the "fix" to Hemorrhage is that it should be basekit for certain things (e.g. (Reverse) Bear Traps or Chainsaw Hits) and the respective Add Ons should be reworked. And Add Ons which only apply Hemorrhage should have another effect as well, so that there is no Add On which only gives Hemorrhage.

  • "Do bones" is always a stupid argument.

OhTofu made a good comparison - lets imagine there is a Survivor Perk which grants the Survivor 10% Movement Speed when all Gens are done. BUT it can be countered, even before - the Killer just has to go to the Basement and open every Locker 2 times. After doing this, the Perk is inactive and it will not activate.

Look, a strong Perk with a counter. Just open lockers. Killers should be fine with that, it has counterplay. And way faster than cleansing all Totems.

Let alone that "Do bones" is not always possible. I had a game today against a Trickster, I did 3 1/2 Gens on my own. Because my team was basically only running around. And who dies to NOED? Me. But I would not have had any time to cleanse any Totems, since nobody else was doing Gens for a large amount of time (I did half a Gen with another Survivors and while I was doing 2 Gens Solo, nobody else did Gens... second to last Gen popped a few seconds before I finished my third Solo-Gen).

If I would have run around to cleanse Totems, we probably would not even have reached the Endgame.

"Do Bones" would ONLY be an acceptable counter if:

    • There would be a built-in Totem Counter
    • OR, even better: The UI shows what other Survivors are doing. So a Solo Survivor would know if others are also cleansing (aka they can estimate how many Totems are removed) and would know if others are actually doing Gens (if nobody is doing Gens, it is equally bad)

Other than that, "do bones" ist just a phrase of an unfunny animation series. But again - we can implement a strong Survivor Perk like OhTofu mentioned, would be the same counterplay... So it should be fine for Killers.

NOED obviously needs a Rework. It should move completely away from Totems, a Survivor should not have to cleanse Totems which do nothing to win the game for a Perk the Killer might not even have.

It should grant the Killer a Bonus in Endgame depending how well they did.

Also an idea from OhTofu regarding NOED-->Remove the Hex-Part. Then, for each Hook the Killer gets 0,5% Movement Speed after all Gens are done, after a fixed number of Hooks they also get the Instadown. This would actually reward Killers who do well during the game and would do next to nothing to Killers who fail the whole game or just camp the first Survivor they find.

  • A little bit over 6700 hours.

I would say 60/40 when it comes to Survivor/Killer, but I reach Iri 1 faster as Killer, so either it has switched or it is just the fact that pipping is easier as Killer.

  • Oh no, someone complains about SWF.

    Anyway.

Maybe you should stop blaming your losses on SWFs and actually improve at the game. So many Killer players are not good at the game but just blame their losses on basically EVERYTHING instead of just trying to get better.

SWF does not make regular Survivors to tournament squads. But obviously you will state that you are playing at high MMR and face tournament squads on a regular basis. It is impressive how many Killers seem to be gods at the game, but still struggle...

Threads like this are digusting and tiresome.

  • 20211120000946_1.jpg

This is Solo Queue for you. One Gen to go, we are on Haddonfield (Killer wanted this Map). It was a Bubba with Agitation and Iron Grasp. He took 4 tries to get me into the Basement. And STILL my team did not do the last Gen, but they tried to save me.

And people really wonder why Survivors prefer SWF? This is not even about communication, since those two (or three, the Zarina who is hooked next to me also went down while trying to get me) know that the Bubba is above the Basement and camping. Still they try to get his attention.

SWF is mainly to avoid players like those.

    Second example:

    FastTrack.jpg

This Yui had 27 Fast Track Totens. My friend (we are playing in a 2 man SWF) looped the Killer for quite a while. Instead of doing a Gen with those 27 Tokens (there was a Gen 50% done by me, but to be fair, she did not know it), she started looking for the Hatch (this was before the recent change).

  • I have gone against 3 yesterday in a row, exactly when I started the "Stun/Blind Killers X times" Challenge from the most Recent Tome.

Since the Nerf, I went against 10 in total I think (including those 3 yesterday). This is not really a change to before.

  • @shitman said:

I just want to play with players from my country, am I asking so much?

I would also like that I dont have to play with players from your country. Simply because Russians mostly have high Ping, because they are far away from the Servers they connect to.

However, this will not be possible. BHVR uses Amazon Game Servers and those are not supported in Russia. So you will connect to the EU-Servers (or any other Server which is nearby, but I know for a fact that Russians at least connect to EU).

    And so nothing will change.

  • The game placed all the Tiles on the Map, but the minimum number of Pallets was not reached. So Double Pallets will spawn.

This means you have the minimum numbers of Pallets and more T/L-Walls instead of Jungle Gyms or Longwalls. Groaning Storehouse is the Map where this can happen quite often.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/295225/playing-againt-swf-should-be-an-option

    Mm.

    • Yes, SWFs have an innate advantage. I'd like playing in an SWF to give you a MMR inflation, say 1.1x for a 2man, 1.3x for a 3man and 1.7x for a full squad. This would mean that you'd face a more dangerous opponent to compensate.
    • That said, MMR (when it works correctly) should offset this somewhat, as SWF players will rise higher than solos in most cases.
    • Smurfing SWFs are a problem - people that spent silly amounts of time sandbagging their MMR to lower their group average. That said, I'm not running into as many as I was two months ago.
    • If they are giving you protection hits, that's awesome. Even if you get a break-free, chances are that you've set up a crazy snowball situation (especially if you know where the CoH zone is) or at least forced them to heal for ages, giving you back some map control.
    • The main issue with SWFs aside from information sharing is perk, addon and offering coordination. Teams that will bring 4x toolboxes and PTS, teams that will send you to Haddonfield/Badham/Swamp specifically to use certain broken loops, teams that will bring multiple 'further hook' offerings on Badham and abuse the tunnel etc.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2643681#Comment_2643681

True. But if nobody wants to play against SWFs, that probably indicates that SWFs just have too much of an advantage.

I really like my MMR suggestion.

"True. But if nobody wants to play against SWFs, that probably indicates that SWFs just have too much of an advantage."

Eh. Most Killers are just super-sensitive when they lose. Especially when they win more than they lose. And SWF is the scapegoat for them.

Said Killers will probably have a joy if they can decide to play against Solos only, just to suck against those as well.

  • I think this should be added. I would not increase the Sabo-Time, Sabotage is already very weak, but with that it would probably be impossible to make a Sabo-play. IMO if a Survivor manages to pull of a Sabo-play, especially in Solo Queue, it should feel rewarding, but this would make it too hard.

However, Hooks should respawn, I dont really know why they removed it.

Showing Survivors next to a hooked Survivor (the reverse-BBQ-idea) is not good IMO. This would just encourage camping.
