Yep, Solo Queue is the most frustrating experience. It is also harder for Survivors to increase their SBMM, so you will be stuck with the people you play with. If I need to escape but am not able to because I play with 3 Bots, I will not get better players as my teammates. And escaping is the team effort, pipping is the Solo effort.
A few weeks ago I had a game where I did 3,5 Gens on my own. First a Gen with another Survivor and then 3 Gens while the others did not do much except for that one Gen which was left. So while I did 3 Gens on my own, the other 3 managed to get one Gen done. And guess who was the idiot who died to NOED?
It was me. Obviously. And I could have done nothing to prevent it, because if I would not have done those Gens, nobody would have done them. Yay.
(I dont mind dying or not escaping, but I mind dying due to a cheap Perk without any chance for me to prevent it, mostly due to incompetent teammates)

Same for me. My inner Monk would have killed me.

No, don't ignore them. Find the associated survivor and stop them from completing their challenge!
People who have this Challenge dont want to complete them anyway. They just want to spawn a Cranker to confuse other players.
-
Yeah, they clearly hate the side which did receive a lot of Buffs over the last 5 years and favor the side which gets nerfed for 5 years. CoH is the first Perk which is actually Meta after the release of David. Clearly, shows how much they favor Survivors.
I would not even compare Hexes and Boons, the only thing which they have in common is that they have some glowing flame at a Totem. And thats it. Hexes dont need to be build up for 14 seconds like Boons, Hexes are not heard from miles away, Hexes work map-wide.
I am pretty sure they will nerf Boons at some point, but please at least dont complain about Survivors running the same Perks all the time if you shoot against that one Perk that made people change their Builds.
-
And?
You know that you wont receive any consequences when you did nothing against the rules. They can report you all they want.
But for some people this forum is clearly a diary.

You piss Killers off by not dying to them already. You can run 4 Meme Perks and they will be upset that they lost. Killers are super sensitive.
I got called a Tryhard by a Nurse for running No Mither. And a Clown-Player (with Exhaustion Bottles) in a game where a Jake dropped all Pallets at the start was raging because I got lucky and found Hatch. Also while using No Mither.
Everything is possible.

I do totems all the time in solo q. It has nothing with me doing totems if we dont escape, it has to do with people going down in 2 seconds and the other 2 not splitting on gens.
I will not do totems if they killer is facecamping, otherwise, I sure will.
Yeah, but if you know that others are not doing Gens, you are also not progressing the game. Especially since doing Totems is pointless, if you dont reach the Endgame anyway.

"I actually cared for Killers having fun, but since they dont care either and dont hold back on their loadouts"
It's funny, but they are still expected to hold back during the game...
Just for fun, what is your build?
Iron Will, DS, BT and Adrenaline.
Back when DS was in its original state, I did not run it, because I thought it was unfair. But as I said, not that Killers care for something like that.
-
@Marigoria said:
Finding totems and easy, and if you really want to help your team, you should be doing them so there is no possibility of noed.
I use whatever perks I feel like, I don't stop using something just because the other side finds it frustrating.
"you should be doing them so there is no possibility of noed."
And meanwhile you are not on a Gen which means you might not even reach Endgame. NOED is a win-win for the Killer - either the Survivors did all Totems, wasting a lot of time giving the Killer a higher chance to win the game (if they cannot win with 70+ extra seconds, it is on them...) or giving a Speed Increase and Oneshot.
@Topic:
Yeah, I also dont run Boons because of that. I do not run Hexes for years since I dont want to deal with Totems and I wont start doing that as Survivor now. For me personally, my current build is better without Boons, so I just stick to it.
That Killers feel that Boons are too strong does not matter with that, there was some point where I actually cared for Killers having fun, but since they dont care either and dont hold back on their loadouts, I dont really see that as a factor anymore.
-
Yeah, I was wondering if this would happen with this Hook.
What makes it even worse is that they removed the Hook upstairs on Thompsons House and the one on the scaffold on Dead Dawg Saloon for exactly the same reason, just to create another one of those Hooks...
-
Yeah, since Dedicated Servers I dislike her.
The Dedicated Servers brought a flood of Russian players into my games. And many of them play Huntress (probably because she is a Russian Character I guess). And many of them have a high Ping.
You can expect the Outcome, you get the most ######### looking Hits.
-
Yeah, a couple of times. 99ing the Exit Gates is the smart move, but only if someone stays there. It happened a couple of times that I ran to a Gate which was 99ed, but nobody there to open it, so I just died. So why it is a smart strategy to 99 the Gates, it can still have risks.
-
Play at a different time and you get instant queues.
-
There is nothing new for me. This was the same when I started playing, just with a different effect for Ruin (and PGTW was only used after it was buffed).
Other than the Perks which were not released at this point.
btw. I have seen exactly 1 Sacrificial Ward in weeks. Which was burned without a Map Offering being used. Yay, great offering, 11/10, would waste BP again.

As others have said, the strongest Killers are mostly original.
If you look at the Top 5, this includes Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Hag and probably Oni? I dont really know, Killer Number 5 is really hard there are quite a few options. But all of those are original Killers, Nurse is even free (and Hag as well on Console). So you dont have to pay a single buck for those, you can get them for free.
The licensed Killers are more in the middle of the pack, maybe with the exception of Pyramid Head (who is stronger) or Myers (who is weaker). But most licensed Killers are decent, but not as strong to make them mandatory to have.
The only Killer which is somewhat mandatory to buy with real money is Bubba, but this is only because of BBQ. And you can even play without BBQ, but the grind is painfully long already.
-
Just everything what is wrong with this Forum:
Killer player plays ONE (in numbers: 1) game with a Killer they are learning, loses this game and rushes to the Forums to complain.
But said Killer player does not arrive at the Forums when they stomp a few Survivors, because this is how it should be. But losing is a nono.

Some times survivor queue is quick? OK. Killer queue is always ALOT faster, the only moment that is a little bit slow is early in the morning and it´s NOTHING compared to the long survivor queues at night. Compare it.
Not really. Even the longest Survivor Queues are not even close to the longest Killer Queues I experience. In the evening, Killer is instant, but Survivor is not as long as Killer over the day (where Survivor is instant).
-
You can easily get from the Top Floor to the Basement.
And I am glad they removed this Hook, it was stupid. Not weaker than the Basement, maybe even stronger.

I honestly think it's horrible from a design perspective. It requires zero effort from the Survivor and is stupidly effective against killers without mobility or an insta-down. I truly hate how this perk is basically just further emphasising how weak killers M1 Killers like Trapper and Pig are in the current meta. Even after his recent buffs, Trapper still sucks and it makes me so sad.
If more and more Anti-Loop-Killers are released, holding W will be more prominent. They just released another one. Obviously this also hurts M1-Killers, but what do you expect? Because of BHVRs bad design decisions (releasing more and more Killers which cannot be looped), we now are at the point where Shift + W is the right way.
Killers always claim that Survivors have to adapt. And if they adapt, Killers are complaining...
@Topic:
I dont think it is that good. It is outclassed by Sprint Burst and Dead Hard and maybe even Lithe. I am using it on the new Survivor, because I dont have anything else which is somewhat good, but I would not use it normally.
-
Unless they announce it otherwise, I would assume it is a Bug. But everyone should get this mask, for the reason @bm33 stated. Once the game became free (this is the reason why I have this mask, I would not have paid for Deathgarden), everyone should have gotten it immediatly.
-
"any Killer" means those which I actually enjoy playing. I dont have fun playing Trickster or Hag, but I dont play them normally. But still the answer which fits the most I guess.
-
Unfun to go against. Playing the new Survivor does not help, since Killers obviously tunnel the Survivor who most likely does not have DS.

I always thought we should go back to old Rank Reset for a month and see if that helped.
Rank 1 to Rank 10 is a pretty big gap. I feel like that would help keep people in the correct ranks.
Instead, we jumped into an objectively worse situation.
I think it would have helped. The good players ranked up faster than the bad players, so there was some form of decent Matchmaking. Not perfect, but better than "getting set back 1 color". When Rank Reset glitched and was applied two times, I had the most fun in DBD in a while.
And just now I really question if SBMM is working. Game 2 this evening: A really good Blight, got 11 Hooks and finished the game with 2 Gens to go. Game 3 this evening - A Huntress with 1 Perk (Beast of Prey Level 1). Sure, you can argue that she might be really good with other Killers. But nope, 40 hours in total. And the first thing she did was opening one of the breakable Walls at the Badham School and getting looped by me there for eternities. Clearly a new Killer.
How is this possible with SBMM? It cannot go from an amazing Blight to someone who basically just started playing Killer with only 1 Loss on my side.

This is correct. The Game almost has no vaults so it has a lot of Pallets. Another reason are Deadends, which make some Pallets not useable.
-
I will answer to any point, I will just go over them while reading.
ANTILOOP KILLERS
I completely agree. The concept of Killers which cannot be looped is really bad for DBD. A big part of the game is Looping, Chases are the fun part of the game for both sides. And if the Killer cannot be looped, there will be less chases, so more M1-holding from the Survivor Side. You cannot afford to go into chases with a Deathslinger or Trickster (in certain areas/on certain Maps), because you will go down pretty fast. Especially because pre-nerf Deathslinger completely ignored the Skill of the Survivor. And The Artist will be another addition.
Meanwhile we have complaints about Shift W, which is the only way to survive against those Killers. And M1-Killers are the collateral damage of that because this also works against those. But it requires 0 Skill from the Survivor and is boring for both sides. But nothing else is possible against some Killers.
For me, Mobility Killers will always be the most fun. This is why I enjoy to play Blight and also somewhat enjoy to go against Blight, unless they do certain Flicks (which should not be possible in my opinion) or run the classical Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer-Build.
BOON TOTEMS
I disagree that Boon Totems are a problem. No Boon is a problem. Even CoH is not really the problem, the problem is uncapped Healing Speed. When you stack so much stuff that you can heal in under 5 seconds, this is too much. There should be a maximum cap for Healing Speeds. But thats about it. Even for Self Heal the Survivors at least spend time to bless a Boon-Totem and for the heal itself. And if the Boon is in an area without any Gens (because they have been done), they either have to relocate the Boon OR have to waste time running to it.
I would also let the Boon only affect the floor they are on. So no more Healing on the bottom of the Asylum when the Boon is in the upper floor. This would also make it easier for Killers to snuff them, because Survivors would not be able to put Boons in spots where the Killer has to do a lot of walking while benefitting from it on a different floor.
Some Forum Users say that Healing should get a big Nerf, however, I strongly disagree with that. The last time this happens, there were many Killer players complaining about Survivors not healing. If healing times get longer again, this will happen.
REALM BEYOND
I disagree partly on The Realm Beyond. I like most Maps more than before, HOWEVER I like them less than the oldschool DBD-Style. They did an Engine Update in 2018 I think? And this Update made Maps way too bright and they did not look as good as before. When DBD launched, the game actually looked the best. The Realm Beyond made it better than the state after the Engine Update IMO. At least for most Maps, Coldwind looks horrible. But it seems like we go to more bright Maps, at least when it comes to Outdoor. The new Map which is released tomorrow also is super-bright.
Regarding Fog:
This is with one yellow and two brown Offerings brought by the Survivors. You barely see any Fog. Those Offerings are pointless, because the Fog on the Maps is nothing. Which is a shame. And this is not even a Map which already got the Realm Beyond-Update.
Regarding Optimization: 100% agreed. DBD is by far not the most pretty game when it comes to graphics and I know that I dont really have a good GPU until I bring myself over spending a fortune for a RTX-Card. However, I can run other games with way better graphics because they are better optimized. E.g. I can still run World of Tanks on high Settings with the HD-Client on at least 60 FPS on each Map. And the game is way prettier than DBD, because it is optimized. And I know I would be able to play World of Tanks with my current Setup in a few years on lower graphics, while I dont think that this would really be possible with DBD.
SBMM
Since SBMM launched, my Survivor Games have become worse. I dont have a high MMR as Survivor, at least I would guess that, because I dont escape often. I dont really care for escaping most of the time, I am that guy who helps another one to escape. When it initially started, I got great teammates, but now they are as trash as before. So many inefficient Survivors.
Killer games are alright, but I feel that SBMM is sometimes not working at all. I got Baby Survivors with my Huntress two games in a row, now the Survivors are back to normal. I played one Doctor game to get a bunch of Survivors who did not even stand a chance at all, they were clearly not on my Level. And in the next game, I get my second Hook when 4 Gens are done. The second game even was on Shelter Woods, which is a good Map for Killer.
The only real positive I had for SBMM was that I was able to learn Nurse without getting beaten too much at the start. And Adepts were super easy for Killers.
Other than that, I dont care about the system, but it can and should get Tweaks. Kills and Escapes are a bad measurement. I have to kill Baby Survivors when I have them in my game. Because otherwise their Rating would increase and they would just get Killers who are not as nice. And meanwhile, I can do anything in a game, but unless I escape, I just lose Rating and get bad teammates.
But, the Emblem-System was also horrible for Ranking. You had Survivors and Killers in Red Ranks who were really, really, really bad. It was way too easy to rank up on both sides.
IMO it started to go downhill when they lowered the Rank Reset. Before that you had Potatoes in Red Ranks near the End of a "Season", but afterwards, they were in Red Ranks from the beginning. The reason for this was that someone who does not play a lot cannot achieve the same as someone who plays a lot. And, guess what - this is how it should be. Someone who only plays 1 hour a week should not get the same as someone who plays 1 hour a day. There is 0 reason why this should be the case.
And this mentailty brought us to SBMM...
Personally, if they bring back the Emblem System, they NEED a bigger Rank Reset and make it harder for both sides to rank up. I dont think I am good enough as Killer to be at Rank 1 every month, but still this happens, because it is way too easy to rank up. Meanwhile, as Survivor I somehow did not manage to do this for some time, I dont even know why.
However, I doubt that they will go away from SBMM. They already forced so much on the Community and they did not care for Feedback. Dedicated Servers? Breakable Walls? (I am fine with most of them, but I dislike the general concept) SBMM?

I think this too. Didn't they experiment with blood on cosmetics in a PTB a while back? If so, it would make sense to make it a presige reward.
Yeah, but this was different. The clothes should become more bloody over time, the more you get hit. But this was scrapped without any information about it afterwards.

Hope they made an item/add on/ offering recycling system to get rid useless things for bloodpoints.
I think it is too late for this. Unless they put restrictions to it so that you can only gain a certain amount of BPs per months or get very little value out of recycled Items. Some players have hundreds and thousands of things they never use, if they would be able to recycle them, they would get so many BPs that they will probably be able to level out a Character on Release. And this is not something BHVR wants to happen.
@Topic:
I hope they will also introduce Prestige Rewards. I have every Character fully prestiged with all Perks, while I would be happy for those who dont have this yet to have an easier grind, I would also be happy with some Reward for actually going through this pain.
-
I used Event Cakes (I had over 100 on my Nemesis, and I played him quite a bit, because I needed some more Add Ons) and BPS in every game.
However, two things need to be considered:
- BPS are very rare. The green Bloodweb-Items are the most of any and BPS compete with many Add-Ons and especially Map Offerings.
- Bloodhunts are so rare, I dont think many players keep BPS or Event Cakes for those Events. I will never run out of mine, because those Events are so rare that I get more BPS and Cakes than I can actually burn during those Events. And getting 100% Bonus BPs at some point sounds better than storing it for months to MAYBE get a Bloodhunt.

"The first Gens are so easy to do, but it can also happen that 3 Gens done fast can result in the Survivors losing the game with the remaining 2 Gens to go, because each Gen gets harder to complete, because the Killer becomes stronger during the usual flow of a game."
I am going to need you to explain this to me like I am four, because this makes zero sense to me. Gens do not get harder to complete. It is the same 80 seconds. I also don't see how the Killer gets stronger during the game. In general, I feel I get weaker as perks burn out and Hexes get busted. A Killer that runs Lethal, Corrupt, Ruin, and Undying can find themselves with zero perks after five minutes.
Survivor perks do not rot over time. Dead Hard is still the same load of garbage on the tenth chase as it is the first. Circle of Healing is the gift that keeps on giving.
The ONLY thing that seems to change is the total number of generators the Killer has to check on to patrol, and sometimes they can be five miles apart.
This is the basic understanding of Map Pressure. Obviously, if the Killer cannot apply any pressure and is not good enough to get Hooks or even remove the ressources of the Survivors (Pallets), they will not get stronger.
However, the longer the game lasts, the stronger gets the Killer. The first Gens are always the easiest, because Survivors are at their strongest. You have 4 Survivors who are not busy with anything except doing Gens and they have all the Pallets still up. When the Killer applies pressure, the Survivors lose some ressources, because Pallets are thrown and broken. And they are forced into altruistic actions (aka unhooking). So at some point you will not have 4 people doing Gens all the time, in a normal game, you should end up with at max 1 person on Gens, because one Survivor is hooked, one is going for the Unhook and one is being chased.
And if you reach the point to reduce the number of Survivors to 3 before a certain amount of Gens are done (I would say, if you do that before they bring the 4th Gen close to completion), you wont lose most of the time, unless the remaining 3 Survivors are not way better than the Killer.
And you cannot tell me that you never had games where you lose 1, 2 or even 3 Gens at the start which you still win.
(Personally, a build like you posted would be nothing for me. Because this would mean that the Killer plays with 0 Perks after a while. But I like to use Lethal Pursuer and Corrupt Intervention, especially on Killers who need the early game or can get into a chase fast. It does not matter if 2 of 4 Perks are gone after 2 minutes, if you set yourself up for the win by applying enough pressure)
-
It is not hard to do after Grade Reset. The Requirement for a Double-Pip is far lower then. And you have at least some decent Perks, IMO you can choose between Whispers, Sloppy Butcher, Fearmonger and Jolt. The others are not that good, but in Ash Grade you might get away with using NOED as well.
And you can use any Killer you like, so you can go for Legion, who is the easiest Killer to get Emblems.

Same could be said about certain map offerings. I dont want to load into Haddonfield or badhamen right away before I've loaded into the game its already going to be a rough game. Do I consider map offerings scummy no but to I think it suck yup. Or how about first chase equals 3 gens you think that's fun for the killer? Thats 60% of the survivor objective when the killer has only done about 8% of there's.
If there's only 2 gens left in the trial and 4 survivors someone is leaving the game if thats the first 2 minutes of the game thats on the survivors for setting the pace of the game and I now have to match that pace.
With Map Offerings, you at least get to play a game. It might not be the most enjoyable one, but you get to play it. And, even if I dont want to promote it here at all, you can still DC without a penalty if the Survivors bring a Map Offering. If you go against a facecamping Bubba the only thing you can do is to wait out 2 minutes to give your team time to do some Gens (at least this is the most optimal way to do it...).
When it comes to camping because the Killer needs a Survivor out of the game and/or the whole team is running around the Hook (aka not doing Gens, so the Killer is applying pressure to 4 Survivors at once), this something different from "Ok, I hook this guy and facecamp him right from the start".
When it comes to your Percentages, those are a little bit flawed. First of all, a nitpick - the Killer does not have to go for 12 Hooks, they have to get 4 Kills. You can also slug the whole team and onehook them. Not really fun, not really skillful, but go for it.
But, the bigger thing, not every Gen is really 20% of the effort. It is 20% of the Objective, but not of the effort the Survivors have to do. The first Gens are so easy to do, but it can also happen that 3 Gens done fast can result in the Survivors losing the game with the remaining 2 Gens to go, because each Gen gets harder to complete, because the Killer becomes stronger during the usual flow of a game.

if you're jaded enough to make this exact same kind of post on nearly every thread why are you even here
Players who play Bubba just to facecamp are doing it to ruin other players fun. Especially because there is always an increase of those players during Double BP-Events. Just imagine playing a game and just logging in, bringing up your free time only to piss others off.
And well, whenever someone says that Killers are toxic, some Killer Mains turn up saying that the Killer in question only did this because some Survivors must have done something to him before. Because Killer players cannot be bad people by default, nono.
-
Those only play to ruin other players fun. Nothing more.
But dont worry, some Killer Main will probably tell you some sob story why they facecamp during double BP-Events. Maybe some SWF stole their puppy or something like that. Because I learnt in this forum that only Survivors are terrible persons, Killers only do it because Survivors did something to them before.
-
Dramatized. Those who complain on a daily basis all keep playing the game so either it is not that bad or they are addicted and need medical help. And I guess it is the first one. Most of the time Killers win more than they lose, but they tend to stick to that one lost game and grab every strawman available - SWF, Boon-Perks, any Survivor Perk...
Playing Killer is not hard at all. It is harder than Survivor, but overall, DBD is not a hard game.
-
You can turn it off, but only in the Main Lobby. If you are in a Survivor or Killer Lobby, you cannot turn it off.

"...not everyone uses Iron Will."
Well, that's because there are even more broken OP Survivor Perks which want to be abused.
Can't wait for Unbreakable 4 everyone, including the Killer after he got a heart attack from seeing the Patch notes. 😜
By the way. I didn't see any Killer at all using Stridor after the nerf but to be fair, i didn't see many Killers run Stridor before the nerf.
Can we for once stop using the word "abused" for people just playing certain Perks? Abusing or being abused are things which are not nice at all and not part of any game.
Saying that people "abuse" Perks because they just use them because they are good is just dumb.

-
It is a matter of taste, but for me, Hag is really boring to play. She used to be my most unfun Killer to play, maybe this spot goes to Trickster now, thanks to the Tome and BHVR forcing me to play way too many Trickster-games.
But with Hag you cannot do the fun part of the game - the Chases. You set Traps and hope the Survivors step into it. They do? Great, you get a free hit most of the time. But you cannot chase them, you have to hope that they step in another Trap.
I also dont like her hook camping style. Basically, if I get the chance to hook someone in the Basement with Hag, I can either play nice and not place any Traps or place a few Traps and this person is dead. Not really fun for me and also not fun for the Survivors.
And I guess many Killers dont really like to play Hag. And it is not because she is weak, she is one of the strongest Killers. And not really hard to play.
-
The Devs were talking about changes to Daily Rituals. Because there are more Killer Dailies than Survivor Dailies, which results in more of them popping up.
IMO at the very least, if you delete a Ritual from one side, you should get a Ritual from the other side. I do almost all Rituals, except for Killers I dont like to play. So if I delete a Hag-Daily and get a Trickster-Daily, nothing changed. And sometimes I even got the same Killer again, just a different Daily (Hag Daily to teleport-->Deleted-->Got 2 Sacrifices with Hag...).
This would already do a lot, if you get a Survivor Daily and dont want to play Survivor, you can reroll it and get a Killer Daily. And vice-versa.
-
Neither is dumb.
DC-Button-->There needs to be a way to end a game fast in case of emergency.
DC-Penalty-->Needed, because otherwise people just DC when they get first downed, dont like the Killer, dont like the Map, dont get a Hook before a Gen is done, etc.... And if you have a bad internet, you should not play Onlinegames in the first place. For the other 4 players in the Trial it does not matter if you DCed because of your poor Internet or because you ragequit, their gaming experience is worse either way.

I was confused as well. 100k wishlisting it on Steam? Cool? DbD probably have more than that at all times if you count both PC and console players.
And it's not like all 100k are gonna stay playing the game.
Its not even like all of those will actually ever play the game. On my Wishlist are games which I never bought, despite being on sale multiple times.

You can’t.
Hag and Twins have been nerfed to the ground with the addition of boons. They were rare killers, now they are almost non existent.
You are talking like this is a bad thing.
@Topic:
Like every Hag-player plays - Hook someone, place a Gajillion Traps around the Hook and if that person gets unhooked, either head back because they can only crouch away, or teleport, if they triggered any Traps. Adding Make your Choice would also help.
