This is certainly interesting... Though I feel like 5 haunted ground procs is just bananas.

The thing is, if survs break haunted 5 times in a row it's kinda their fault. It'd be pretty obvious what you have on the build after the second time it goes off. That's also why I didn't want the explosion to go off til the last one. the killer would be forced to guess which of the two haunted totems was broken to be able to punish the one who broke it. They'd have to hope for godly timing.

Though I realized, since Haunted takes up two totems, you'd only get 4 procs if you were lucky. Doesn't change it much, but still.

  • If people group up, take advantage. Dole out as much damage as you can, slug to waste their time. If someone is on the hook and someone goes down near them slug and use them as bait. (picking them up is a garuntee that person comes off the hook, usually with BT)

Your biggest enemy is time so the more busy you keep the collective, the less you have to fear

  • I like these changes. It'll make things a lot smoother IMO

I want the "Wazzup mask". Still waiting :-P

I don't think it's likely. That particular variant doesn't seem to belong to FunWorld (the ones who allowed the DBD ghostface)

It'd be am interesting edition though.

  • Only one of them even had a perk that would be effected by the exhaustion lol. You were obviously just outplaying them and they needed an excuse.

Edit: didn't see the Jane perk. If they're salty about something so situational that it honestly shouldn't be exhautsion (imo) then they're still just sore losers.

  • I don't think they would because that would involve completely reverting code for things that have changed thoroughly and risking breaking things now. Not to mention the ridiculous download requirements that'd come out of it

I like the idea. It just doesn't look practical

  • The more Neon, the less respectful of a person. If there is multiple neon outfits, they're almost certainly one of those swf. You know the ones, the ones who throw a tantrum and collectively d/c if even one person goes down ever .

Frosty and Hallows eyes are NOED inbound.

The neon rule applies to legion as well. Bound to be as insulting as possible in the end game.

Anyone wearing the basic cosmetics are either gods or potatoes. There is no in-between. That default dwight is either going to run into a wall or deadhard through your swing, into a BT save, kobe off the hook, decisive you, and adrenaline out. One or the other. That poster boy trapper is either gonna step in his own traps or be so far ahead of you that everyone steps in a trap at the exact same time as he nods in the middle of the map laughing maniacally to himself.

  • Silver. It looks better (IMO) and the red stands out just a bit too much. TBH though, the best mask is his P3. That mask goes with literally every outfit and the blood makes it so you're not a spotlight in the dark.

  • I wouldn't mind a counter offering to the "please take me here" offerings. A "heck no" offering would really shake things up

  • Trying to transfer over to a less "pay to play anything but basic bob and the quadruplets" aspect with the shards for killers/survs system. I'd never liked that a full priced game charged for some of the things in the game and this is a nice middle ground.

communication makes perks/addons that are meant to restict information kinda pointless. Knockout, 3rd seal and pretty much anything that gives the blindness effect would need to be reworked.

Yeah, I know. I touched on that in my post when i said like half the game would need to be reworked. The issue is that, as long as swf exists, the only way to balance it is to balance around complete information on Surv side. Might as well make every party essentiallly swf so that that is easier and hurts less solos.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

The thing is as killer you have more control over your own actions. As solo survivor you don’t, you rely on others and put your faith in them that they have half a brain to do something.

Which is why I find SWF balanced. Not because of comms but because I trust them to do the right thing when it comes down to it.

I still think there should be comms and a text chat base game just so that survs can communicate (muteable obviously). Then balance around that. It's the only way to bring solo survs up to swf completely and make it so "nerfs" to swf(I have yet to see a nerf actually change anything to a group with good communication skills) don't decimate solo survs. The downside of course being that you'd have to rework a decent portion of the game to actually allow that level of communication (altering like 50% of the perks and actually balancing the gameplay around regular communication instead of balancing it around zero communication)

TBH they're probably already planning something like this given they're adding an in game friends list with the dedicated servers.

I'll kick-off by talking about the ultimate 'M1 killer', Myers.

Typically labelled as a 'stealth' killer owing almost purely to a small TR in Evil Within 1, he currently seems to have three variable playstyles: 1) Butt-surprise Myers, 2) Ultimate evil Myers and 3) Classic Myers.

    1) Stays in EW1 and tries to focus on grabbing unwary people off gens. Generally considered a meme-build.

    2) Always involves extending the duration of EW3, sometimes combining this with Judith's Tombstone to mori survivors. Also considered a meme-build.

    3) This is his vanilla and generally what survivors expect to be up against when they find out they're against Myers.

Out of all these though, only 1) is an overt stealth-based playstyle. It definitely takes some skill, but once survivors are on to it then it becomes very unlikely to catch them. Myers has to revert to a classic playstyle then. The problem is though: he can't, he's stuck in EW1 if he uses Scratched Mirror.

There is a skill of sorts to managing and building EW, with it basically rewarding you for how close you can stay to a survivor, which becomes harder to do once you are up to EW2 and the TR has extended.

    Proposal:

He should be re-designed around the meme-builds, but not as straight choice between the two(though addons can still allow that). Get rid of EW2 and have just two tiers of Evil Within: the stealth one and the M1 rampage. It's tempting to suggest Myers get more direct chase-utility; all the high skill-ceiling killers have that, but he'd lose some uniqueness. The limit on EW points that can be absorbed from survivors should also be either raised or removed.

The goal is that now the killer has access to the two most useful stances, without the dividing-middle; in return for having to manage the challenges of both. The only benefits of EW2 are that it's not EW1 and gives access to EW3. If Myers only had EW2, he'd just be a Trapper without traps and a smaller TR. It's a stop-gap and a fall-back, so get rid of it.

    Let me know your thoughts.

I like this. I like this a lot. Personally I'd pump up his E3 TR a little more than just base killer TR. Maybe 40ish so that he has an imposing presence (opposite to his almost non existent TR in E1) This would make for extremely interesting and terrifying builds. I'd also return collision when stalking. The reason it's missing presently is because he can chase a survivor normally and body block for the stalk. If you get bodyblocked by a killer as slow as E1 Myers then you deserve what's coming.

The main downside I can see to this though is that his travel time will always be terrible. He won't be able to properly defend the map due to the fact that he can't really traverse it without that middle tier. He'd become a fairly defensive killer like Huntress and Hag. Taking a small portion of the map and making that his domain.

  • Guilt seems like a worse Borrowed Time. You might wanna rework that one

  • @ArecBalrin said:

Killers are still waiting for 'addons being lost every single match no matter what' to be addressed.

The worst part is that it isn't clear. When I was new I thought they were only lost when I lost (in line with how survs lost theirs by dying). This was the time of the Cube so that made sense to me.

  • To be honest, I wouldn't be shocked if Trapper did it. He had to be tortured to work for the Entity. A lot based on the amount of scrap metal in him. I think if he had a chance to get payback, even a small victory like temporarily letting a handful escape, he'd take it.

  • @Broccoli said:

A lot of survivors are really entitled, they feel like it's their right to win and get lots of points every game. The ones who dc when they get downed are either players with huge egos or people who tried to be toxic and failed. At least that's what i take from my experiences

To be fair to them, I've faced plenty of killers who d/c the moment the last gen pops or if a hex breaks early too. I think it's just that this community has an inordinate amount of sore losers and, with more survs than killers, you're more likely to see it on that side.

  • That first sentence built my salt up.

The ones after changed my salt from classic to sea.

Yes, fix that bug, it's ridiculous.

@PrincessPoop They already confirmed it would in the anniversary stream that announced Rifts.

Rifts will have exclusive cosmetics and every 3 months a new Rift will release. They showed concept art of a shiny glowing blue Rift jacket for Claudette.

They specified you'd be able to buy the cosmetics afterwords in the shop, same as any other outfit. It'd just cost more than simply getting the battlepass and playing. Also, only cosmetics will require the battlepass. Progress items (bp and shards) will apparently always be on the free track. I'm not too worried about it

  • @Mookywolf said:

it wont happen but i think a Legion mask for the survivors would be funny.

when it comes to Legion masks I'd settle for Jeff getting one since he actually knew them

You're right that it probably won't happen though

  • I'm here to bump this because yes please. I need me an Ace mask that looks like a something a a "high class" gambler would use in a secret society damn it

Yes, but when I think of Ghostface I think of “campy” “Cheap Costume store” bought costume.

I’m a huge fan of the series so I am a bit biased, and why I’m not a huge fan of this particular style.

I get what you mean. I was just confused on what you meant by medieval. But yeah, I hope we get something campy and classic too. It's make sense given it's a funworld license. (The only thing I know we're unlikely to ever get is the Scream variant)

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

Wish most of his costumes didn’t look so medieval.

Medieval? Just on chrome dome I get a more Victorian punk vibe. Like something out of the Dishonored games. His design in general is a very modern Gothic style

  • @TheShape78 said:

I also thought it was weird that this outfit makes him suddenly look "beefed up". Honestly though, I wish they could just get the rights to add the Scream film robe. Funworld produces a costume of it anyway, so if not the film version, why not just base it off of that? Anyway, a bit of trivia for you all...the chrome Ghostface mask was actually a real mask made by Funworld a few years ago to celebrate the 25th anniversary of them producing the Ghostface masks since the early 90's.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/729/LXQAU23YMBHB.jpg

That's really cool. I had a feeling it was a real mask given the Funworld license but I didn't know it was limited edition. That explains why they named it Legacy in game

    Thanks dude

  • @Kiskashi said:

Yeah, I found this outfit just funny, so many say the devil face outfit is better because it doesn’t have the ribbons (I still play base bc I love them, I don’t even care) but BHVR took that and went let’s just make the ribbons and mask metallic and shiny then. Perfect stealth. It is very lore fitting though.

I'm okay with base leatherface but I'm not super fond of the color skins (red and blue) they feel too... Kindergarten-ey if that makes sense. Too pastel? I dunno how to describe it.

I do really dig the red devil though. I intend to replace the mask with his P3 when I get it if I don't eventually give in and get the shiny "Legacy". It's such a gorgeous outfit despite being so counter productive to his playstyle.

  • Plunderer's + Ace in the Hole + WGLF + Bond is one of my favorite builds. I get to give gifts and stack points.

  • What I'm reading here is you want killers to tunnel specific survivors on sight because they're a massive threat and ignore others because there's no point in chasing them (ash getting 3 hits to down all the time? Yeah, ######### it. He can do whatever he wants. I ain't chasing that.)

You'd have to be within like 3m or something and have clear sight of it.

The aura of the item is shown unless you beckon towards yourself, then only you aura would be shown.

    Yeah, that'd be fine ^-^

  • I'm assuming the person making the action has their aura shown and the item their pointing at gets the notification? This should require that the item is extremely close to the surv because it's be a bit ridiculous if I load in, point in every direction until I ping something I can't even see due to load distance. I like the idea though

You do you, but you asked for an opinion and I've given mine :)

I try and see both sides fairly, playing both sides helps. But if it isn't one thing it's another when it comes to which perk/addon is needing the nerf bat for which side this particular month.

I hold no animosity to this thread, but some of us are just jaded by now.

I uh... Wasn't the OP. I was also agreeing with you mostly. My issue is people picking over perks one sidedly and not looking at how the two different roles interact with each other. Hell, I even advocated not touching Adrenaline in a post before that.

  • @SoylentPixie said:

    I wouldn't.

But then I'm tired of watching both sides pick over the other sides perks one by one like vultures.

I just want people to sincerely discuss why certain perks are healthy/unhealthy instead of treating it like some weird kindergarten turf war where civil conversation is impossible. So far this post has been mostly okay.

  • I don't see a problem with it. If you're at the end game and you're not running an end game build, that means that they had to get every last gen done for a proc that only lasts a few seconds. If you have an End Game build and your goal is to kill them during the collapse, Adrenaline is almost certainly not gonna be a problem for you.

The only reason Adrenaline is even top tier is because, with a halfway decent SWF(As in not a SWF I'm a part of, that's for sure), you can more or less guarantee every gen gets done by the end because you can share far too much information with no drawbacks. Adrenaline isn't the thing in this scenario that needs a nerf and the other thing can't be nerfed.

My stealth build is spine chill, lightweight, sprint burst, empathy (empathy can be replaced with whatever you want I use it to get heals in or to confirm the killer is chasing someone else so I can focus on an objective)

Personally I'd slap bond in Empathy's slot since it's an immersion build. On a none heal build, I feel like I'd waste too much time getting to anyone outside of Bond's reach. I love that you didn't go with the basic ######### Urban, Quick and Quite, Self Care, Claudette

    Agreed

  • @Ghostul said:

Hide or Die is way too different to think about one "defeating" the other. Hide or Die is focused more on horror and hiding (hence the name lol). If the killer finds you in this game, you will most certainly die. It's way scarier to be survivor. Meanwhile Dead by Daylight killers are not threatening what-so-ever. Now that's not a bad thing really, that's just how the game plays.

Hide or Die and Dead by Daylight just play differently. No reason to ditch one for the other. Want to run killer around? Play DBD. Want to be scared and hide for your life? Play Hide or Die.

Wanna little of both? Play Deathgarden

Then weapon visibility should be made a toggle. Of course, most players will always have it toggled off unless they’re showing off cosmetics as content creators or something.

I wouldn't, I like the weapon being there. It's a common feature in most first person games despite the player character not actually holding whatever weapon they have in front of their face. It'd feel out of place if it were any different to me.

Though I wouldn't mind a toggle for both things. One for people who want less animation and one for people who want to remove it entirely

  • @Sneaky_Dwight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/607584#Comment_607584

I may not have stated something properly, but why would you have 4 blinks?

I mean..sure, if you hit someone, you'd be able to get another blink out..after the weapon-wiping animation, which takes awhile.

Nurse has base 2 blinks. The way you phrased it made it seem like you were adding 2 more to that as well as the reward for a well timed first blink

  • Her dash no longer counts as a basic attack, negating it's synergy with a lot of perks for no reason

  • I really like it. Can't really think of any feedback because everything looks fairly balanced

  • They also need to update that "finish all remaining gens and escape through the exit gate" achievement with EGC out. Left behind and that achievement had their place before. Now they're just pointless due to being impossible to actually use.

  • Warning, no matter who or what I'm playing I always have some sort of BP gain perk to help with the grind. Usually We're Gonna Farm Forever in the case of surv (they don't have as many point increasing options). This means most of the things I'm suggesting will be 3 perks with a fourth one left up to you

Personally I'm a huge fan of Ace in the Hole + Plunderers Instinct and Bond. Become the gift giving hero your team doesn't deserve! Best when played as Ace.

Hope + Adrenaline + Wakeup. No perks until the end game, but when it arrives YOU ARE GOD

Empathy + Autodidact + Botany Knowledge. Heal me, heal steve, heal the killer, doesn't matter. Just heal

Decisive Strike + Dead Hard + Adrenawin. Who doesn't like a second chance. Or 3.

Streetwise (A toolbox, preferrably commodious) + Leader + Prove Thyself. Gather around and crank those Gennies out.

Streetwise + Vigil + Bond. Your very aura makes the other survivors lives easier.

Alert + Dark Sense + Spine Chill + Premonition. If you get caught with this much forewarning, it's your fault at this point.

Stakeout + Diversion + Quick and Quiet + Urban Immersion. The killer becomes the hunted. Follow your prey and use their own terror radius against them. MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I tend to constantly change up my build, outside of always having a bloodpoint perk like I mentioned, so posts like this are always fun to me. I hope you enjoy some of these suggestions.

  • @Raven014 said:

I don't get the point of that one, to be honest. Pill bottle will always be ######### addon for freddy. It used to be decent. Now it's... whatever it is...

I think they should just revert it back to what it used to be. That could still work, since you get a terror radius when awake.

Does it also make the survivor you're carrying invisible? If not then I'm with you. Can't see a point

He doesn't have a slowdown on his bottle anymore. He did when he was brand new but the devs realized the penalty negated any ground he'd gain with his gas. It was removed ridiculously fast considering how long some fixes take in this game.

Well, honestly, the only real difference is that you can't tell that they're on the way to a gen which garuntees a grab. Something I saw suggested that I kinda liked was the removal of collision along with scratch marks when she's running prayer beads. Forcing her to rely entirely on sound.
