Delete Prayer Beads then I'll be a happy with her

No addon should be deleted but I wouldn't be opposed to a redesign on Prayer Beads. Gen tapping being your only option outside of just happening to have anti spirit perks isn't really all that fun

  • Killer Perk:

Spotlight- Any survivor who tbags or spam clicks a flashlight has a spotlight, similar to the map marker, shone on them for the rest of the match and gains a permanent exposed status.

"What's wrong, does my cutie wutie need attention?" -Mama Huntress

    Survivor Perk:

Ruin Ruin: Grants the two lowest rank survivors in the game immunity to Hex: Ruin

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO THE GENS!" -Everyone who isn't a meg head

  • Hag is definitely red rank viable. Just gotta get a proper set up because she's not a chasedown killer.

  • @violethonedge Not quite a pirate outfit but Trapper is getting a deep sea outfit. Like a body that was sunk to the bottom of the ocean and rotted.

  • I'm the Uptown Slicer and I'm here to Uptown Funk You Up

All I can do is laugh because it's obvious I'm not going to get ######### from the devs as to why they've done this despite my numerous attempts.

They even purposefully side stepped it on the Q&A stream lol. One of them assumed they'd be talking about it on the stream but immediately had that thought cut off

Can someone explain what this fast running vault thing is?

All I'm picturing is someone vaulting while sprinting, which can't be right, because that's normal.

Normally you have to have a certain amount of distance between you and the vault where you're running in a straight line. If I'm thinking about the right spot, what they're referring to is when a survivor somehow makes a perfect right angle into a fast vault despite the fact that the vault spot was designed so that you'd normally have to slow/medium vault.

hes fine now. I think he needs a buff since his detection zone was increased 8%

I agree he's fine now. I don't think he needs a major buff, just something to save him from having his power completely negated by competent swf but that's something that half the cast needs. The only reason I felt he needed to have something to visually show whether or not he's being exposed is because the power is described makes it seem like having him on the Y axis of your screen will expose him but it's more like a small dot where the X and Y axis intersect making it hard for people to know if they're actually looking at him (especially mid chase)

  • I really enjoyed reading the bios, they're pretty good. Especially Jemma's portion.

Gemini's power is also interesting. I know it can't down people when they mess up trying to remove it, but can it down them if they fast vault it while injured? I'd need to know that before suggesting anything here

Also, why the table leg rather than say, a shiv, or a stolen police baton? I was just wondering why that was what you chose.

    As for perks:

    Jemma

    Touch of Evil is fine

Outrun is good, but the tokens feel out of place to me given they don't have much to do with outrunning the way the speed boost does. Personally I'd just make it so they are instead consumed to remove scratch marks or something after you've traded the killer off to another survivor (that way they can't easily go back to tracking you)

Lazy Worker is a bit problematic because no one would want to run it. Skillchecks help survivors most of the time. The only people who don't want them are people who can't handle ruin or are facing impossible skillchecks doctor to be honest. I'm not sure how to change it in a way that isn't polarizing though.

    Jamie

Bully would immediately go on any basement build I'm running. I can just imagine shoving someone who's trying to body block deeper into the basement while also slapping them with mad grit

Detained: I don't understand what you're saying with the first sentence as, now, the hatch opens no matter how many gens are done anyway. As for the delay, that sounds awesome. I'm not sure I'd run it often but I also know I would if a group looked like an obvious swf (IE, the kinda people to suicide on the hook) or I see a Jemma and know she's gonna sandbag everyone.

ALEO: I'm not sure about the numbers, but you said beforehand that you weren't either and I don't really have suggestions for them. It seems interesting though

The map sounds AMAZING. I've been wanting a prison map for ages and my favorite maps are the indoors one so I feel it'd quickly become my favorite overall.

  • You already see an exposed timer at the right side of your screen. It counts down, the same as any other status effect. So I don't see any harm and having it at the bottom like with Ghostfaces. Though he'd feel a little less unique due to it

  • He is? I thought I bought him? I might be thinking of Bubba

  • Personally I think it boils down to "Do you like the IP?". Cause I got it specifically because I'm an old Evil Dead fan. Seen every movie and most of the series (can't watch the rest legally as of yet, due to it being shown on a network I don't have anymore). The difference between Ash and Bill is that Bill's ridiculous "BUY ME, BUY ME" perk got redesigned, but wasn't butchered. MoM is almost unusable because of how buggy "protection" events can be. Still, I'd rather a perk be unusable than game breaking. Hopefully they'll look back on it again and change it to something useful though

  • @Peanits said:

We've passed the feedback on to the team. It's a fair point. We added the effect to all exposed effects in the game to keep things consistent and add to the feel of the effect, but we may need to revisit specific cases like this.

Thank you for the quick response and all your hard work! It's always nice understanding how the devs are looking at certain things

  • I adore it. Run it on a ton of people because it's just *fun*

So many things you can stack it with and it trips people up really well when used right. It's especially good on Bubba to make up for his lack luster power by allowing him to get in a little closer before survs take off

  • With Milo's help we found that Padded Jaws and Honing stone do, in fact, work together. If they escape they go down, even with the padding.

  • @Milo Alright. My steam user is Ark the Bonsai, same as here. *Link removed*

  • @Milo said:

Does paired with Honing Stone still downs them if they free themselfes or no?

I... I've never thought to test that so I have no idea. If I can find anyone on PC willing to do an incredibly short KYF test with me I'll come back and tell you though

  • Personally his ability is fine. I wouldn't give him the ridiculous 36 second cooldown on a survivor hit though, as I'm assuming it has a specific range and can't go over things like Huntress hatchets can (meaning all they have to do is run behind a wall.) Instead I'd just make it so that the hit does damage and draws them in but can not down someone. Since he'd have to aim it incredibly accurately to actually get a hit, I'd also either: Keep the stun you mentioned, but the survivor doesn't get a speed boost from hook damage or remove the stun and give them a speed boost.

Also, because 110 move speed is something I despise, I'd give him normal speed but a slowdown when aiming the grappling hook, similar to huntress (that's just me though, I understand why you did what you did, it just feels unnecessary)

    Perks:

Two of your perks slow chest searches. I like the non search effects on each but having them both slow chest searches ruins those effects. If you want people to carry items so you can expose them, you shouldn't discourage chests. If you want to be notified someone got into a chest, you shouldn't discourage chests.

Whiplash wouldn't work properly with half the cast and would be overpowered on some. Imagine a clown slowing you and then zooming at you. Imagine a Huntress hitting you and then catching up to you despite your damage speed boost. Imagine a Trapper taking the perk, he literally can't use it because his power isn't an activatable. You have to take these things into consideration when writing up a perk. You can't just think of how they'd work with the one killer you made.

Personally, I'd strip the chest slowdown from the other two perks and make it its own perk where whiplash is.

If you did the above, and removed the slowdown stacks from Dead Mans Treasure, it'd be heavily gimped until 3 tokens though. You could keep it as is so you can always down anyone with an item after 3 people are holding one but... Honestly people will just put the items down or break the totem making it a less useful devour hope.

Thematically I'd make Dead Man's Treasure a perk that, instead just curses a survivor who loots a chest so that they can't drop the item they collected and are exposed until either A: They use up the item, cleansing the curse or B: they get hit by the killer, punishing their greed and also cleansing the curse

Overall I love the concept. I hope this kind of thinking on your idea is what you were asking for

  • I'm assuming they did it for consistency, but I agree that it just hurts the feel of Michael

I've seen people do this before so I'm assuming it's okay- @Peanits what are your thoughts on this?

Sorry if the right to @ you on a post you haven't commented on is reserved for specific people

  • Personally I think No Mither is fine as it is, I just want bonus BP for playing it. Wraith, Billy, Bubba, and Trapper can all make themselves weaker and get bonus points in deviousness (even though the bonus isn't enough to offset the weakness they gain), yet I can make myself permanently one shot while also still whimpering loud enough to hear cross map and I don't get bonus points in Boldness for that? Hell, at least make it so that if I somehow survive the match I get a bonus in Survival.

As for OoO. That's an entirely different beast. It's either over powered if you're in a swf/facing a stealth killer or, if you're solo and facing something like a good Billy or Nurse, it's a death sentence. The perk needs a rework, not just some changes IMO

  • @PolarBear said:

Padded jaws does pair well with STBFL but other than that it is pretty useless.

It's supposed to be the equivalent to the normal damage Billy Saw and the TR Wraith addon. You play it for a large negative to your ability in exchange for points

Though, tbh, you'd get far more points from just having an ability that does what it's supposed to because you'll actually get people killed. doesn't matter how much deviousness I get, there's a 8000 bp cap there that I can't pass to make up for the loss of kills.

My suggested change for them would be to remove bloodpoint caps on deviousness in exchange for the power gimp. That way you can focus on stacking that

  • When I was new to the game I mained Hag because I liked being able to teleport more than being able to catch people in traps that take all of half a second to get out of and could be destroyed permanently (Poor Trapper, I'm so glad he got that QoL fix on traps)

Then Pig came out and, frankly, I fell in love with her. She fixed the only problem I'd ever had with Hag, games went wayyyy too fast (though that's a problem with any killer when facing a team that knows how to focus the gens before saving). This is why I was confused when everyone talked about how weak she suddenly was after the EGC change. It didn't bother my playstyle in the slightest. Only killer who I relied on the end game with was Fredboi at the time.

Then Ghostface, who is honesty just a worse Pig because of how buggy he is, but I find peeking around corners and being able to move at normal speed with my TR off amazing. (I'd played Silent Doc and Map Wide Myers for the same effect and he just has it base)

  • It's more that, because the ptb always accompanies a new killer (or in this case, a rework), people don't actually report anything that is not immediately related to that specific killer. It's not the devs using it as just a sneak peak, it's the players doing that. If the devs don't receive feedback on something they can't exactly fix it. All of the bugs and issues you mentioned here were barely touched on until the ptb was out because no one cared unless it was about Freddy.

There were tons of topics regarding Spirit Prayer Beads in the past month or so.

The Nurse is being pushed to center stage because of one particular topic, one particular video, one particular "challenge," and a name drop on the most recent dev stream.

Prior to this, I'm pretty sure Spirit, Prayer Beads, and Iron Will were the "hot topic."

What was the challenge, name drop, etc? I'm sincerely out of the loop

No you are suppose to hear woosh when in Terror Radius range? Otherwise you have No-mind game potential to tell when she is phasing.

What they mean is, if you're on the very edge of her terror radius when she starts phasing, the husk's heartbeat (which is incredibly faint at the very edge) covers the vacuum cleaner sound.

What that has to do with it bugging out and delaying, I don't know

I’m glad you liked it! Yes, I want the scratch marks to be affected by all perks, including those used by the killer. It could also help you figure out if he’s using such a perk.

I thought about using a time limits, but then that would mess up combinations with Lightweight and other duration perks.

You’re right in the fact that most people would use this for their own scratch marks, so I’m thinking it should be more like Breakdown (where you break a hook after coming down) where it has 1 general purpose and the tiers don’t really matter.

I like the range idea because it can double as a buddy-detection perk when you get to tier 3 with unlimited range. See scratch marks on the wall in the distance and run that way to get some healing and such. Also useful for helping newbies understand how to track, killer-style!

Alright, now that you've explained how a timer would be a problem I get it. I was too busy thinking of how it'd interract with killer perks to think of how it'd work with survivor perks. And the buddy detection is a really neat use. Kinda like how people use Bond for sandbagging, thinking outside the box ^-^

  • @NoShinyPony said:

Sure, that would bring solos one step closer to SWF.

(In general: If solos are brought closer to SWF-level, don't forget that killers also need to receive buffs.)

That's why I feel they should just add comms and balance around swf instead of balancing around solos and allowing swf to be ridiculous because it's not accounted for in design

Of course, half the perks in the game would have to be reworked (literally every perk relying on hiding or showing auras) but it would certainly solve the power difference between the two

  • @yobuddd said:

Back to the less-than-pure survivor idea, I just had an idea for a possible perk!

    Touch of Evil

Within a 10m/20m/unlimited range, you can see scratch marks (even your own) as the killer would see them, with all perk effects applied.

I love that idea! Though the range won't really matter all that much as most people would use it for their own marks. What would you say if, instead, it was something along the lines of "Scratchmarks are visible for X seconds" for each tier?

This would be even cooler if it was effected by the killers perks to showcase the link. Like if the killer runs predator, you see your scratchmarks condensed in the same way the killer does so you know they have that perk.

I'd actually love if all of their perks were like this, a sort of direct relationship with the killer! Thanks for posting dude, just the idea of that perk has me giddy

  • @Mew Pro Tip: Throw pebbles at her, the school girl won't stand a chance

Legit though, because it leaves scratchmarks the pebble is a surprisingly good tool for helping out friends from the sidelines if their chase passes nearby. I know that doesn't help with the immediate chase problem but I don't think I'm qualified to help with that given my method of fighting spirit is taunting her into screwing up until I can fake a window and sneak a way

  • Trapper because I have magnets in my feet. He can set one trap down in the farthest corner of the map and I swear I'll find a way to step in it. I will then proceed to struggle for his entire trip from the opposite corner of the map to me, get out right as he reaches me, and get slapped before I even regain control. Tis my curse and I wear it proudly.

  • Your phrasing is confusing. You make it sound like, if the killer hits the unhooked survivor it applies deep wound to both of them and exposed to the savior. If they're already injured with the deep wound effect, why would they need to be exposed?

  • @DrDeepwound said:

"distinguished by the quality and abundance of their feedback, for their seriousness, measure in the judgment and absence of fanaticism for one or the other faction, and for the public skill demonstrated in Twitch or Youtube live shows."

so the same popular people would be picked leaving out actual non biased people for the popular ones of the flock.

Ill pass. They already make videos pushing their opinions down everyones throat already, we dont need them propped up by the devs.

I thought of their idea as more, something you'd apply to each and every time, preferably with some anonymity that way they have to base their opinion entirely on the stats provided and answers to the questions. Similar to how they've been doing those closed tests recently

  • I love this idea, the closed beta could have an application pool, like the tests they have been doing as of late, and have more specific rules like "for the first day, no perks or addons". I'd much rather have longer wait times on chapter releases than have chapters that have been changed due to nonsensical spam from people who just harass the devs rather than genuinely attempt to learn new content

Legion concept is great though, I would rather suggest these changes:

-revert his feral frenzy speed and vault speed to what it was, chases in feral frenzy sucks.

-keep the 115 movement speed as normal, or make it 110 if needed to balance.

-his power gauge is filled faster and no longer decreased by normal attacks (keep if still needed)

-his power should last long enough to be able to run most of the map distance. It sucks at the moment when I feral frenzy and don't even reach half the map.

-stun is 3 seconds again, 4 seconds is too long to give survivors distance, discouraging me to much to continue chasing.

-can see blood again in feral frenzy, it is too easy to lose survivors after stabbing now, especially P3 Claudettes.

-break action and locker check is faster in feral frenzy, since you are still about to during the power and you are in a frenzy, why not?

-(special) hitting all remaining survivors with power awards ability to down the mend time like before (still suffer misses attack consequences, so this is a skill based effort, gives pressure and multi stabbing I want!)

-mending has skill checks, if Doctor can, then why not mending?

I like the idea of reverting his speed and vault, those were never a problem. The things that made him unfun were the "Just Keep Swinging" and "Tunnel X Surv for a guaranteed down" playstyle.

I'm fine with him losing a percentage of his frenzy on normal swings as that makes it so he can't down someone and then immediately frenzy someone and run back to the downed person. That'd get old fast.

Him opening and closing lockers faster during frenzy would fit perfectly and be brilliant

As for the suggestion of allowing him to chain stab people down through multi hits... Eh. I personally wouldn't enjoy that on either side really. Feels too cheap. I really enjoy the chaining aspect, but not enough to run in a circle repeatedly trying to down everyone (if you're meaning he has to keep changing targets even after they've been hit) and as a surv, if he hit the whole group and then chose me as his final target, it'd feel pretty hopeless and pointless to even run. I'd likely just stand there and take the hits. As such I feel he'd be better off gaining a stackable bonus for chaining. When 2 survivors are effective he gains a bonus, 3 a different bonus, 4 the previous two bonuses and something else (Given how fast mending is, I'd like this reward remain for a certain ammount of time rather than leave the moment someone mends)

As for everything else, I'm indifferent. I can see pros and cons to each and don't really lean enough either way to comment.

  • While I wish it did more than just break a survivor, I'm with @MegsAreEvil here. Corrupt Purge is basically machinegun hatchets x1000. I, when playing Surv, would rather be one shot downed any day than be two shot downed by something that multi hits even more efficiently than Bubba's Tantrums.

  • @TheBean While I haven't been active enough to agree or disagree, I'm fairly certain the doubt is directed at the "never censor someone unless they're being rude" part. As in they're doubting that they don't censor other things, not that they do censor those things.

  • @LancerCain Really? You should write it up and post it here in the fan creation section.

I am pretty sure this game is called DEAD by Daylight not SURVIVE by Sunrise.

From this point forward, I am only referring to DBD as Survive by Sunrise. Suits the game better tbh

  • @NMCKE Exactly. I probably wouldn't care if I knew why it was happening. Presently though it's just been kinda slapped on without warning or explanation.

Honestly I feel that with the way they run DBD, the tried and true MOBA hero format of buy someone to play them or earn them with playtime, they should also run their patch notes like MOBAs.

IE include dev notes on everything explaining why it was necessary.

Say I'm playing a MOBA as a melee fist focused hero, and one of his abilities is an "uppercut" or really just an ability that makes my next basic attack do more damage. If ,for whatever reason, the devs decide to change it so that the next basic attack qualifies as magic damage instead of basic damage I'd want to know why this was done. Especially if I say, mained that character and tended to build around his basic damage type. Now I have to completely rebuild my playstyle for him, and in turn have the right to know why it was suddenly necessary to change him. As such, in a MOBA, the devs will post a note explaining this because it effects the playerbase severely any time anything changes.

  • Strawberry Vanilla swirl. It might not be an option, but its my answer.

  • @PrincessPoop That's just universal shorthand for the word. I see that in literally any game with a queue system. No different from the way people shorten "you" to "U" (Though I must admit, as someone who got screamed at for years for even the slightest spelling errors, blatant ones that were born of texting like "U" bother me a bit)

  • @YaiPa You have my vote. I've thought about this a lot in the past and always wondered why they wouldn't have a feature that literally every other game selling cosmetics has.

  • It's an interesting idea for a new killer but they would have to change it so that it isn't an SCP. Any skip on the site can't be used in any media that makes a profit. That's part of the rules for posting something there. Once its up, it belongs to the community, not a single person.

  • Personally, I'd prefer if they just made it so you could save your own cosmetic combinations as outfits to sort through

  • Honestly it feels like they're just nerfing people to push players to try the other things they broke at this point. Kill the pig so that people will play ghostface

    I worry for Myers

  • @Peanits I think the main problem people are having is knowing what the detection area actually is. Survivors don't exactly have a reticle to use when hovering over him. It's a lot like having to guess where the middle of the screen is with a huntress hatchet but more confusing due to the third person camera. I don't think they should actually have a reticle, it just wouldn't look very good, but there should be a visual indicator to go with the audio indicator once you've held the detection zone on him for the buffer duration. (I hope that last bit made sense)

Thanks for all your hard work on the game and sorry for the @

  • Did they fix the snares so that they're actually placeable in chase? They'd always clip into a pebble and vanish for me

  • I'd like to note that base Freddy is a ######### clown knockoff but with actual map control (thankfully they're learning that the thing that all top tier killers have in common is map pressure). He's only "OP" as you put it with the pallet addon which doesn't effect you while awake(same with the snares, but lets be real they won't effect you no matter what). If you use the clock, as Jaws put it, you can completely ignore the presence of those by using your memory to your advantage. I'd also recommend running Windows of Opportunity for a bit and using that to get an idea of which ones are fake while awake (it can be tricked while asleep).

Whatever you do, don't whine on the forum until you've at least tried to learn how to handle the killer. It's been a day. This is why the devs have been waiting a week or two before touching killers this past year. People who refuse to learn.

  • I like this because it doesn't really create much extra work. I think it'd be really cool.

And your English is readable and that's all that really matters
