Question for the Devs concerning licensing of non-humanoid killers (Xenomorph/Android from Alien)
This is one of many Pro-Alien™ discussions I took part in. Just search it up in the search bar and take a gander.
Looked over the post, saw Peanits response, and now I'm on board. Let's push this all the way!

Yeah i was saying before an alien can be controlled it obeys the queen and brings her nice humans to grow her children. All the entity has to do is have or admit the same pheromones as the Queen and the alien would obey.
Also a remimder alien resurrection had an alien that was born from clone riply and the queen it was more human also with eyes and a weird nose.. Never forget that nose.
People argue about the map how about LV4?
Alien is the most perfect killing machine.. The entity would want it for sure.

If I saw that nightmare coming at me I'd probably just go and Dwight it up in a locker

I think there is a chance we could get a multistory map where the lower half is larger than the top half, or vice versa. It would be a different layout, and would give more run around room in some parts without it feeling too confined.
That's a neat idea
Oh I missed that in the trailer somehow, still super excited! Do you think it'd have drops from the top floor (as is tradition) or would it be more like the old Coldwind House design where you have to take the stairs?

Flip that on its head and that's probably the lab. The landmark is most likely gonna be the Gate downstairs.
Sorry, I don't know a lot about Stranger things. I'm guessing the lab has something to do with the inter-dimensional creatures the show revolves around?
And flipped on it's head I still think two differently sized floors sounds awesome!
Side note: Here's a prayer that we don't get anymore gandalf pallets that are impassible

Can I just pipe in here and drop that a Xenomorph fits into the dbd lore perfectly in a lot of ways. It took me a lot of discussion to convince people and the only counter argument was that it doesn't fit the game.
Anything is possible if it's something which has a certain demand.

I wonder if it's going to be a single floor or two floors like the Game.I'd really like something that's multiple stories again :D
I'd love another multi story map too, but it's have to have small floors to make up for it (that's how the Game handles how hard travel would be)
What if they gave a map that's bigger than Game but smaller than lerys with a smaller upper floor? Like half the size of the bottom floor?

And yeah, Lery's used to have that problem constantly but here lately the only issue I have with it is that library. But that makes sense given the Library is that maps version of the Killer Shack

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/638789#Comment_638789
Honestly yeah. I enjoyed Plague's design a lot because it wasn't anything I was expecting, especially after Legion's lackluster design (IMO). So I'm just honestly excited to be surprised more often.
Yes to both of your things. I was wanting this post to draw out people's creativity but I clearly worded it wrong and gave off the wrong point.
And hell yes to being surprised. I felt the same way about Plague as I do about the Demogorgon and I don't know anything about Stranger things (I've heard it's a good watch). Both completely caught me off guard and that makes them 100x better than things where I was fully expecting it

They never said that the Entity can take only humans, look at Maurice for example, he's a horse
Also devs said that the killer must be humanoid in shape to be in the game, so not a dog or spider killer
The Demogorgon is fairly humanoid
They did also mention once early on that they wanted killers to be human for the personal aspect of being chased by a member of your own species but it probably changed with development like how they changed their mind on the clown.
I'm pretty excited for this and hope it comes with really good lore

Yeah, MC said this... but he also said that all Killers are or at least used to be living humans when I asked him a while ago if the killers are undead or alive.
Personally I'm thinking it's an internal disagreement on lore rules. They've mentioned before they don't have everything fleshed out and the lore grows as they think about it. Probably a divide on that rule internally
What monster would you want though?

@Jimsalabim said:

What do you mean? This is literally a "Since that doesn't matter anymore, what would you guys want?" post. One of the biggest inhibitions I've seen (and mistakenly put out) for nonhuman killers was that lore wouldn't fit. It's not making a big deal out of it, it's taking advantage of it to see new, creative ideas that can't be shut down.
Come on! Participate and have fun with it

Yeah, my first thought would be a wendigo, or maybe someone who can shapeshift and disguise themselves as other survivors in order to get close, that would be very cool.
Also gimme a medieval knight-skeleton-killer or something really stupid and out there and I'll play him every day.
I'd be super down for a Knight! I feel like they've been considering a shapeshifter for a while just on the Legion Trailer being completely opposite to his design, I really hope we get that at some point too

They said that at one point maybe(I'm not sure) but they also said they wanted them to be human for the personal factor. It's much more terrifying to be chased down by a mindless murderous member of your fellow species, but this was very early in their streams before they'd went "No Clowns! Here's a Clown." I probably shoud've taken that situation as a "We've changed our minds on some things"
By the way, do you have the one where they specifically state "humanoid" not "human"? Cause I've seen that brought up a lot but didn't see that stream or post. I'm assuming I missed it during one of my long breaks from the game
-
I know I'm only responding to a small portion of your post here but:
"I really love this game, I want to get everybody to P3 and someday hope that I can say I'm a vet and actually get to rank 1 and be good at the game."
You're one step closer to being a vet. Being sick and tired of a lot of the stuff in the game and feeling unsatisfied but still playing because you love it despite all it's glaring flaws is a huge part of what being a vet in any game is, especially the rough around the edges lovechild that dbd is.
-
It's one of those perks that can be busted in certain situations, that's probably why a lot of people don't like it. I'm with you though, I tend to get more solo survs running it.
Personally I look at it as a death warrant. They chose to give me their location at all times, in turn I'm going to ensure they die. I won't tunnel them just because they ran the perk, but I sure as hell won't give them second chances (No catch and release for someone who might be reporting my every move. There's a chance they're not in swf but there's also a chance that I'll never be able to move towards anyone else without them having a heads up before I'm even on their end of the map)
-
If they rework Ghosty for the worse (Not really a main just more common when I'm rotating them) I guess I'd go back to Pig being my regular while crying about how ridiculous some changes can be.

I generally refuse to take off WGLF as surv.
I tend to push for extra salt when I get it post game (though, in my defense, when people are chill I also try to make sure everyone leaves happy. Kinda read the room and respond accordingly)
Somehow missing once always, invariably, turns into me missing 2 to 3 more times because it goes to my head
If a gen is close to being done I'm commiting until I get pulled off even if I know in the back of my mind I just barely don't have enough time
I forget to use Pop Goes the Weasel half the time when I'm running it
I forget to use Freddy's new teleport
Deadhard? Since when did I have that? (There's a bit of a theme here)
-
I'd be fine with this. Though I'd like similar changes for most killers. It's very rare that they have a Iridescent that's on par with something like Insta Hatchets and far too common for them to have a normal item that really shouldn't be (omega blink nurse is at the door, should I let her in?)

So you have immediately gone from saying she is worse then legion to saying she isn't as nurse and spirit. Atleast you admitted you don't play her.
I think we're done here "man" lol
Oh. Also I should clarify, since you didn't seem to understand the part about Ghostface/Myers vs Nurse/Spirit. My point was Ghostface and Myers' powers aren't really all that strong. Strong killers have map control or something that can help shorten a chase. If Myers and Ghostface didn't have the stealth part of their kit, they would be bottom of the barrel with leatherface (That's my opinion from my own experience anyway). I'm much more afraid of a myers in t2 or t1 then one in t3. Even if I've been marked, ghostface scares me more when I can't hear him and I haven't been. It wasn't a "she's not Nurse and Spirit" It was a "She's an m1 killer with no chase utility and a full sized TR"
I should have been clearer. I don't think she's bad. I also don't think Legion is bad. They're both mid tier in my eyes. Bad would be leatherface because he suffers from both of their weaknesses as well as his power having an incredibly long wind up, large cooldown, and the potential for a tantrum if he clips the edge of a rock/wall/etc.
I hope this got my point across more clearly.

Give me one thing she has over legion if no one ever heals? IMO having people injured constantly works better if you're small enough to sneak a hit on people. That's why I prefer stealth killers myself.
And yeah, I don't play her as much as some other killers but I still do. I'd play her more if I didn't have to sit i a lobby for 20 minutes for a game half the time. Unlike some people, I happen to enjoy cycling who I play. My opinion isn't invalidated because I don't "main" her.
And why the attitude? Did I hurt your feelings by saying my experience was different? Does the colloquialism of "man" offend you? I sincerely don't understand.
-
On that subject though. Don't obsess over breaking everyone you come across. Just make sure to spread the sickness as much as possible. They'll either break eventually on their own or they'll heal at a fountain and buff you up big time
If they do use fountains, only go for the ones you have easy access to. Going to an area with no gens just to get her ranged attack isn't going to help you. It'll take too long to get back and you'll have lost a lot of pressure (note, this doesn't apply if for whatever reason you're in a chase in the area and have them cornered/just hooked them there)

This forum is a giant echo chamber repeating this nonsense. I'm guessing most of the people repeating it have never really played Plague. Pretty rare i run into a group who doesn't heal. If they don't heal they die pretty easily
Not healing is pretty silly since it boosts the plague up to being a perma EW3 myers with a smaller TR while the survivors are much noisier and can't hide.
Unless its a coordinated swf 4man but they rarely heal vs any killer anyways
Trust me, I've played her. Not as often as I'd like to (due to rough killer lobbies) but plenty of people don't heal against her for me. And, frankly, I won't heal against her until someone else does. I'd rather go down in one hit but still be able to loop her then go down in two hits that happen incredibly fast and are much harder to avoid than an m1.
If there's an echo chamber on this "nonsense" it's because it's not nonsense, it's common sense. If insta downs were the most powerful thing in the game more people would play Ghostface/Myers and less would play Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Spirit, etc. An insta down still requires a killer to *hit you personally*(unless it's Iri Hatchets). With how fast a Corrupt Plague can down you(fun fact, you don't have to aim. Just shake your head a little), you really shouldn't be worried about the one shot.
Sorry for not having a carbon copy of your experiences playing this game man.
-
If no one ever uses the fountains, you're a worse legion (taller and thus less mindgame potential though I guess you have the benefit of constant injury but with legion you might as well assume people are injured all the time anyway) if they use the fountains you're a Huntress on steroids whose been preparing for this their whole life and poisoned the competition.

-
Yamaoka's map. It took all the worst parts of old swamp, doubled down, and added a slice of that one long Autohaven map to make things worse. It's the only map that I sincerely contemplate d/cing on when I get it.
It's no fun as killer because map pressure is damn near impossible due to the fact that it's huge, chases are rough because it has a multitude of jungle gyms and completely safe, unmindgameable pallets, and *I can't see anything*
It's no fun as survivor because traversing from one end to the other takes 7 years, it has that frustrating baseline New Moon offering darkness, and, speaking of which, *I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING*
Edit: Changed a [BAD WORD] out with "anything" in two places. I'm sure you can guess what it was though.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/81799/a-no-mither-fix-idea
No Mither isn't broken, so none of these fixes are needed. The devs even stated that it is a perk that is meant to challenge you, not trick the killer. The perk is working as intended, so there's no reason to try to make it 'less hard to use'. Just DON'T use it if you don't want its effect. It's that easy.
This is why I think there should just be a bp bonus similar to the killer "challenge" addons (Billy's speed limiter, Trapper's padded jaws, etc)
Well that and remove the god forsaken injured music, but that's just because it's pointless when you're always injured
-
No mither is supposed to be a challenge perk, it's mostly fine as is. All it needs is a bloodpoint reward and *remove the deafening injured music devs I know I'm injured I chose to be please god I can't hear, I can't HEAR*
As for the bloodpoint reward, I'd prefer it be like WGLF but stacks with boldness somehow(take risks for more points) because otherwise(if it's like prove thyself) you're just gonna hit your bloodpoint cap and the bp bonuswill be worthless.

I have said this and I'll always stand by it. For me, a dlc without a killer is just so immensely lackluster that I get bored in a week of its release. Survivors are simply nice skins that have a unique voice and perks that varys gameplay very little and with a IP as big as Stranger Things, yeah, it'd be quite disappointing to see no killer. Yet, I guess I could see them switching things up.
Agreed. Though I wish they'd stop releasing killers alone. When there isn't a survivor with the release, the lobbies go from hell to the ninth level of Ikea.

As far as NOED goes I don't particularly have an issue but it does reward campers very nicely, which we all are aware devs have tried to discourage.
If a killer camps, all the killers say "just do gens then", so survivors just get the gens done, survivor dies on hook, killer gets himself a free down at the end, that's my issue with noed.
Personally I think noed works far better for non campers (especially with the emblem system that will harshly punish the silly billy who stands in front of their first hook) but I get what you're saying. It can garuntee a second kill if they actually manage to down someone with it, but in my experience most campers run a killer that already has an insta down baseline (whether or not they know how to use it)
To explain my first point. If you don't camp and you have multiple dead by the end game, noed can make sure a 3 k turns into a 4k or a 2k into a 3k.
-
I've seen a lot of people who think we're getting another japanese ghost killer because of the pictures in the houses of kuchisaki onna (split mouth woman. I don't remember how to spell it and I'm too lazy to look i tup right now)
The problem I see with that(and subsequently this "leak") is that those pictures have been around since before spirit released and it'b be silly to release Spirit's equivalent of leatherface so soon.
Note: The reason people think this is apparently one of the devs said that that all the information for what the new killer is is hidden on a map somewhere in plain sight.
-
I'll admit. You baited me good. I was expecting a Spirit addon discussion (for the 4 millionth time) and was intrigued that someone with a Spirit avatar would call for a nerf. Got me good man, got me good.

Probably because the Legion bug pretty much made the game unplayable. Not the same.
Nobody got banned for the Tinkerer 2 bug, Wraith Sloppy Butcher bug, etc.
I think the difference between those and the legion ones were publicity. I had no idea Sloppy was bugged for pretty much that entire duration so when I used it, it wasn't an intentional exploit. (I'm assuming you mean the wraith one, unless there was yet another I didn't know about)
I also didn't find out about the t2 tinkerer bug until recently when someone mentioned it(who tf uses t2 tinkerer?). Legion bug though, that was impossible to miss. After your first game doing it you'd know how it was bugged and know better than to do it again. If you kept it up, you deserved your ban.
The problem with all the exhaustion bugs (IMO) is that they all require you to go out of your way to trigger. I can't explain them because that'll be treated as publicizing it, but I've seen all of them in action and you're not going to abuse one on accident.
As such, those particular ones should be punished in equal measure to the Legion one.
On the other hand, I have no idea how people figured out the Wake Up bug so I'd assume it's much like the tinkerer and sloppy situation and you can't really just assume people knew. As such, they probably shouldn't be punished for something out of their control.(I can't be certain, I never used it outside of end game builds, still do)
-
This version I don't get. I'll slug the last one for the hatch points (With the general philosophy of: If you have a adrenaline, I guess you're free to go) but why leave them for the EGC timer? It's the same amount of points and a killer lobby takes half a century. At least try to find them and hook them. Saves everybody time.
