Sad to hear it's all Bubbas, Legions, and Plagues. I'm not sure why they don't consider that people will use the most exploitable killers when they design these things. It always seems to be Legion ruining every event too. I've been playing as Dracula and Clown and mostly just treating it like 1v4. I still don't even have the poisoning survivors quest done 80 matches in. I've found that survivors are so eager for saves in this mode that they're giving me lots of opportunities and also wasting time on their toys. The ones who win are the ones sitting on gens with gen speed perks.
My only real complaint as killer is that the portals made playing my main too difficult.
Your quotes didn't work in those replies btw. You might want to edit in a tag for the intended posters.
Yeah honestly I noticed that as killer, some teams will just waste more time on the event than it's worth and throw the game, and some teams will waste the event in the worst time. It's another thing that makes this event so bad: it benefits the SWFs that are already more of a threat way more than a solo queue survivor. Also sad to say one of the only two clowns I can remember going against in maybe 300(?) event matches was using poison to inevitably slow down survivors to throw pinky finger on them. Funny part though was that I still got him to miss twice, so he obviously didn't actually play clown.
Also thanks for the heads up, fixed it!
-
@ForTheEntity Yeah I haven't really been enjoying myself either. I've tried to change up my play style to have a bit of a more fun build rather than the very challenge-oriented builds i usually run, but the bit of fun i get from like window teching a killer gets damped when they hit me with three poisons and down me in one shot after 20 seconds of me burning through pallets. If it wasnt for the cakes or the event points i wouldnt be playing
-
@HoodedWildKard But half the original post was about how terrible it is to go up against that exact thing as survivor. Going against an insta down killer like bubba or anything else is borderline impossible to survive for a decent chase against because of the poison providing pretty much a guaranteed hit. I understand that maybe being able to absolutely smash through survivors as killer would be fun, but its absolute misery to go against, especially with how much tunneling theres been. the amount of teammates ive had DC and the amount of times i myself have DCed are both way higher than normal
-
@100PercentBPMain First game on killer I played was Springtrap and I just got clowned on, but the amount of bubbas and insta down killers that easily win every game I play on survivor is crazy. it just makes me not want to play killer because if i play anything regularly ill probably lose, and if i choose killers or addons or tunneling specifically for the event i just know im making 4 people miserable

I played a handful of matches as survivor at the beginning of the event and it was all tunneling Jasons so I dropped it. I've been playing killer since and yeah, no matter how survivor sided it appears, I think I've lost maybe 10 out of about 75 matches. I don't even throw the poison. I just poison the carts.
Honestly glad to hear I didn't miss anything as survivor. I don't think I could have tolerated endless Legions.
yeah honestly ive lost so many matches as survivor, its only a survivor sided event if the killer is playing normally. if the killer chooses to player certain killers and uses a ton of poison (and ESPECIALLY if they tunnel, which there has been a ton of) the event's balance gets flipped on its head and its borderline impossible for the survivors to win, especially if theyre not all in comms or using meta perks

I'm gonna continue to say it—we can avoid going over all of these potential scenarios just by changing the DC penalty. Max it out at 15 minutes, have it degrade like it used to, and replace all DCed players with bots. The last thing a frustrating game should do is penalize players for being frustrated. All it does is prematurely age the game, as we've seen.
especially during this gamemode ive been feeling the DC penalty changes from way back. the amount of survivors DCing from killers hard tunneling to win and the amount of killers DCing from well timed table setting has been way higher than the normal DC rate, at least from what I've seen, and I myself have DCed a lot more too, but after one DC in a day of 30 games sometimes I'll instantly get a 15 minute ban

Fnaf chapter isnt based on movie tho... I am not even sure if springtrap design appears in a movie. Its just Matthew Lillard skin.
Springtrap was done in full collaboration with Scott, its what power he wanted springtrap to have, he wanted simple power. And he was completely ok with it.
When has Springtrap ever had a fire axe? And the mori is definitely not similar to anything in the games either. Even if it was obviously made with Scott Cawthon Games (they needed to get the license from somewhere), the chapter definitely does not play to the pre-existing, decade long material.

For Dredge specifically, would LOVE the closet he comes out of in its trailer as a Killer Object. Perhaps even allowing it to travel faster or unable to be locked since it is a rarer object on the map.
Even if they just added the closet as a spawned-in object similar to Jason and Xeno, it would reduce his map dependency drastically

Thank you so much for the response, I love all the questions and effort you put into the reply and I appreciate the feedback!
As for the crawl mode in the killer power, it is more like a more brief means of faster transportation, while crawling they would have a decent haste effect making them much faster but it has its limits of pallets and walls and obviously being lower to the ground would make visibility more difficult as well, but that is to make up for and compensate for the fact that they can move very fast and are also going to be more difficult to locate from survivor POV. Id think of it more like the Krasue flying low to the ground in her head form, only in this case they may interact with pallets and walls and attack on exiting the mode.
I also totally agree that this killer could bring back some genuine horror to the game, at least for a little before its overused and survivors have gotten used to it, but I think it could hold the fear factor of it a lot longer than most killers.
Finally, yes I do think the Dont look perk could be slightly overpowered with its aura reading but then again it is a totem perk that would be revealed to survivor while their aura is being read because of it, so they would be very aware of it and know that they need to cleanse the totem, or at least dont look for a consistent time, which would make this an effective perk making it harder for survivor to keep their eyes on the killer at all times during a chase. Now, for False Comfort, I hadn't realized but there is a very similar perk in the game that makes survivors exhausted and blind while healing within the killer radius, although these effects only liner for a short while after done healing and only happen when inside the killer radius these would still be very similar perks and may need a change. And Finally, the Its Too Late perk, YES im glad you like the idea of more end game perks to help killers make more of the time when all gens are done, and the idea that "Its too late" and possibly taking back the game even after exits become powered would be awesome and fun.
Again, thank you so much for the feedback I really appreciate it, if youd like I would love it if you would check out my other post about the Skinwalker Idea and let me know what you think about that.
I was wondering if the crawl mode had a haste effect, but yeah that makes a lot more sense. I would still be worried about Don't Look being a bit too strong even if survivors were notified of it, but you'd only really know if it's too powerful or not by testing it in game and seeing how often the 3s activation works. I do genuinely like the killer design, and I honestly would love to see It's Too Late in the game, I think it would be one of those perks that makes survivors go "OH SH*T" like getting downed by Devour Hope, just to a lesser extent.

As @MoZo already mentioned, even if the Colwind maps are too bright right now, with the graphics overhaul that could always change then. At the very least, there will be a dynamic weather system with the graphics overhaul (which will be sick as hell and is probably my favorite part of the new announcements) which means we can have Coldwind in stormy weather
-
I want a redo of the FNAF franchise, Springtrap being based on the movies instead of the huge legacy of the games ruined it.
Because @pidgeon mentioned Spiderman, I think Venom / Carnage would be awesome.
I think I'd also love to see a Little Nightmares killer, not 100% set on one. Maybe the teacher with the stretching neck, or the blind guy with the long arms, or the hunter from the first level of the second game. Having survivors or skins for the Six or Mono would also be sick

best line for his mori imo is "you are all my children now.."
I'm pretty sure Chucky has a few different voice lines that it randomly selects between for his mori, I feel like it would be pretty simple to implement the same if they were going to add Freddy voice lines

a new tutorial is so needed. we have such an old one and it barely teaches much
Although it especially applies to the tutorial and character discount suggestions, I really think a lot of these would improve the new player experience so much. Even the proximity voice chat, imagine being a new player, and another player tells you what a perk does when you encounter it in game. Despite it giving the opportunity for toxicity, I think as long as it's properly moderated it could honestly provide an opportunity to more friendly community

such a bad add on lol for slinger. should not be iri at all.
fav line of freddy is when he yells "ITS PRIME TIME B**CH" then proceeds to throw someone into a tv
yeah they could have done James better
It would honestly be kind of sick to hear that during Freddy's mori, it would be like Chucky's voice lines during his mori
-
Honestly really reasonable changes. The Nemi add on would hardly be a buff, it would essentially just be a nice QoL change for Nemi players that I think would be nice. I still haven't had the chance to go into the SH franchise but one of my close friends is a huge fan and I think he felt similarly, kind of disappointing that probably won't happen. Gotta be honest that I haven't seen Nightmare on Elm St either but I do know that he has some sick lines, hopefully considering they announced that they want to bring voice lines to pretty much every survivor maybe they'll do that as well. And holy I didn't even realize this addon existed, probably because whenever I played Deathslinger I erased it from my mind. Holy garbage lmao

your making me want to come out of my shell and share a few changes i want
I think the more the community is vocal about the changes they want to see, the higher the chance that BHVR actually implements them. If they're something you've thought through and are passionate about, I'd encourage sharing (even if sometimes people really don't like your ideas, which I've definitely experienced my fair share of lol)

Yeahhh, although that's pretty much the only case where that happens, and I think extra locker spawns would probably be based on the locker density of the map. Also in my experience, sometimes when I have someone on hook as Dredge on Midwich, it blocks like a quarter of the map's lockers which is rough lmao

I used to type gg, or at least glance at the post-game chat, but I often don't anymore because of toxic messages, either at me or others so I keep it closed. Regardless of that, I'd still like to say some kind of message along the lines of "Good game, well played" or "Good game, good luck next time.", automatically without having to open chat. Just a little something I thought about. I feel like this would be a harmless addition.
i think this could be a decent idea that could help with some of the toxicity / whininess in end game chat. obviously I think that it would have to be either just "Auto GG On/Off" or it would have to have some presets, but I think it could be good

Agreed! sadly i wasnt able to choose who i wanted to get P100 until now, so i got a long road ahead
Well nows your chance with the anniversary event! Just sucks to know that I'm probably going to be doing a lot more manual spending again despite there being an auto option, simply because I can be more efficient and get more cakes that way

i have just started the grind for my first P100, i think this would be a lovely idea and could help.
I'm currently grinding my 2nd p100 and preparing for the anniversary event. I have 16 million BP ready to go thanks to the anniversary code, but it sucks to know that the auto spender probably could have been more efficient to get another 1 or even 2 prestige levels if it actually selected the cheapest option and I had the ability to prioritize cakes.
-
I think this is a great idea to make use of the trash items / items we don't use! Even a 50% BP conversion rate would be much appreciated so I finally have a use for the 700 of each brown item / offering that I'll never use
-
Absolutely agree. In fact, I would go so far to consider for fairness sake not only Killer offerings but their addons should be shared too. Obviously it wouldn't work exactly the same way, but I have the same issues on survivor and killer, where I constantly find that I barely have any items or addons on anybody who isn't my main.
I think for killers you could use a token system, where you unlock iri or purple addons, and the killers have a shared number of iri, purple, etc. addons. My concern with this would be that killers would be running only meta addons even more than they do now, but I also think it's a really nice QoL change for them.
-
I'm not a console player but I can see how that would be frustrating. There could be hardware limitations that make that difficult because DBD is not a super well optimized game, especially for the last gen of consoles (for example PS4). But if possible they should at least make 90fps possible for the newer consoles, I think that should be easily achievable considering they have implemented FSR 3 (upscaling) into the game.
-
Honestly I just think there should be some way to show off Devotion Level in general if you so wish. As it is, it's hidden in the profile settings, so I never look at it / pay attention to it since if I'm in my profile settings I'm probably there to change something else, and the Devotion Level doesn't do anything and no one else can see it.
-
I think this definitely should be added. I think the concern is that if you spectate a match you're not in, then your friend (assuming he's not in call with every survivor in the match) could get information he wouldn't know otherwise from you spectating his teammates. This could easily be fixed if you were only allowed to spectate that friend's POV though.
-
Agreed. Honestly winning a game and getting the final mori almost dampens my win because I just go "aw, I won just to get a lame mori." I also stick around sometimes when I get mori'd to watch the animation, but the Wraith and Trapper ones might as well not exist. I think there might be a couple others that are pretty bad as well.
-
I've thought about this idea before, but maybe just apply the stream effect you get from Blight Serum to any survivor or killer currently going faster than their base speed? Not sure if cheaters could find their way around that system, but in a way if they give themselves 3-5% haste and don't get the effect, even if it's difficult to tell if they are actually faster them not having the visual effect would be suspicious
-
Absolutely! Similarly with character customization, they should add the option to favorite cosmetics (outfits, individual pieces) and give the ability to add custom outfits of mixed pieces to the outfit menu.
-
Personally I really like the killer design. There's some questions that I have about the killer power though that also put into question if only being able to interact with pallets and walls is justified. Does the Crawl Mode do anything besides putting you on all fours and unlocking some kind of special attack? I'm not sure exactly what the special attack is either, but it kind of just sounds like this mode is like if you had Shred permanently charged on Demo. I think it's a bit confusing what exactly this power does and if it's different enough from just walking around to justify the two modes.
I will say the killer aesthetic and the Fake Smileys look really cool! Definitely feels similar to the Smilers from The Backrooms. I think this definitely would be creepy, although of course playing the game a lot will negate a lot of the horror aspect.
I think Hex: Don't Look might end up giving semi permanent aura reading in chase which would be problematic, but if it didn't work in chase it would just be a worse version of the Springtrap perk. I might be wrong but doesn't something similar to False Comfort exist already? Personally I think It's Too Late is actually a pretty cool game for after gens are done, much more interactive than something like Remember Me.

These are interesting thoughts, and definitely one's I hadn't considered, but the basekit pain res might be enough to do something to help. I'd be interested to see these at least tested.
Just realized what you meant about it being a problem that it only applies to gen kicks, as in the gen kick bonus would not be nearly as helpful to killers that are running pain res or something. In that case I honestly think the 5% bonus regression could be added to the next gen regression event, if they kick a gen then it gets applied there, or if they Pain Res it gets applied there instead.

Honestly not bad, I think a lot of the "Don't play that way" mechanics are fine as is rn besides the anti-tunnel, which should just flat-out disable in end-game instead of reducing the time. You can still easily walk out a gate with any seconds of endurance as long as teammates are nearby.
The anti-slug I will forever be mixed on, as there is a skill-ceiling to countering said slugging by using knowledge, macro-skill, and lockers. I think the community just needs to get better instead of asking for base-kit additions. EXCEPTION for when there's 2 survivors left and the killer slugs for the 4k.
Basekit hooking rewards, which could be the section at the bottom instead of just flat buffs, would make the slugging play-style a lot more irrelevant depending on value. It would scale further with an actual survivor meta shift, which the game desperately needs anyway.
Combination of the 3rd anti-slug and basekit hooking rewards would actually be fascinating to play with. Do you slug and risk the auto-hook? They might be able to pick if they get by you, or do you hook now for the benefits? if perks didn't activate from the auto-hooking, it'd be incredibly balanced around skill and knowledge imo. Granted, unhooking perks would still work like DS, Gift of pain, DH, etc.
I think you could go a lot further with anti-camp in 1 of 2 ways:
1: The radius is larger than before but killers can use their powers inside the radius (Stream-lines every killer into an even playing field around hooks)2: Make every killer NOT able to use their powers around hooks. Confuses me why Billy can rev into my cheeks for 2 minutes but Artist can't place crows lol
Either way I still think hook-grabs should return. Confuses me why they were removed
Also people would hate the hitbox change. It would take AGES for huntress players to revert their muscle memory into something new, but it would also open up 20 million shots and make her A tier again without any other changes. Or least a very high B.
I do think you'd be a fan of the status effect "Dread" I have, which does nothing but makes effects from killer powers unaffected by survivor perks (Vigil shouldn't counter powers imo). Freddy would apply a red outline around the screen (or something similar), to show that his snares are unaffected by perks. Shouldn't really matter that much.
I think end-game unhook protections could definitely be reduced further, but I think removing them entirely is a bad idea. There would never be a point to trying to save a teammate because 9/10 times the killer won't even hit the unhooker, and instead wait for them to get unhooked and then immediately down unhooked survivor, just like dbd from like 5 years ago. I think it's a similar reason to why they removed hook grabs.
I also recently heard about an anti-slug idea that's been around for a while that apparently a lot of people felt positive about, and that was that if two survivors are fully recovered and come together, they can pick each other up. I think this is also a fascinating idea since it feels very intuitive and honestly makes a lot of sense. The only concern I'd have is that if survivors literally go down on top of each other, it might be a bit too strong since they could get each other up in just over half a minute and that could punish a killer that is simply opportunistic and not necessarily just hard core slugging.
I do think the base kit hooking rewards I wrote could both be effective at making tunneling and slugging less relevant, and I think it would be a real feel good moment for killers so they don't always have to run Pain Res, Corrupt, Pop, and Turn Back the Clock or something.
I've heard several people talk about Billy face camping in end-game, it's just a difficult issue. A Billy player needs to be able to chainsaw away from a hook because that's their entire power and it's half used for map traversal, and making it so that he can't use it in a radius might not be very effective when he can stand further away and cover the distance in 2 seconds. I'm pretty sure they made it so that he revs the chainsaw slower, but obviously he can just have it sitting at like 80% and it doesn't matter.
I think Dread is an interesting concept, but I'm not sure how many survivor perks this would apply to, I can only really think of Vigil and a few perks that give Elusive. Personally, I just think Vigil should be restricted to Exhaustion, Blindness, Hemorrhage, and Mangled. I might be forgetting a couple, but I don't think it should affect Hinder or Exposed durations, as I think those statuses come from perks and powers in a way that they should be consistent for consistent value.

@Abyast1 said:
The changes themselves are well thought out. My only issue is the slowdown for killers only occurs when they kick gens.
Gen speeds would need an adjustment if these changes were to go live, and that might mean an extra gen needs to be done, or that gens take longer.
Gen speeds as they are right now would not be fair if anti tunnel, slug and camp measures of this proportion were added.
If that was an issue, I think increasing instant gen regression to 10% (15s or charges) or regression rate to 0.35 charges/second (4m 17s from 100% to 0%) might be fine as long as changes to regression perks accounted for the increase properly.
Otherwise, a couple random ideas from the top of my head come from making certain perks partially base kit. Almost like Ruin, perhaps if a gen is left alone for say 60 seconds, the gen begins to break down again and regression starts on it's own. Or like Pain Res, maybe another benefit added onto the list of hooking an unhooked survivor (before a survivor has been killed) would be to regress the most progressed generator automatically by 5-8% (of course Pain Res would have to be adjusted accordingly).
I think out of all of these, I'd maybe be most averse to increasing the gen regression rate and adding the base kit Pain Res, namely because the gen regression means that if someone goes on just a minute chase while their gen regresses or it takes a minute for someone to find the gen they were working on, almost a fourth of the total gen progress would be gone, and a base kit Pain Res might make DMS annoying to run into every game. But either way, just throwing out some ideas here
-
I hate that some people are saying things like "If you tunnel I have no sympathy for you" and somehow making the Original Poster into the bad guy when he's being told to kill himself. Even if he really was tunneling or camping or whatever, that doesn't make telling him to kill himself justifiable. Sure, I don't like tunnelers and campers, I play Survivor more than Killer after all and it takes the fun out of the game for me and makes me frustrated, but not even close to the point that I would want the Killer to kill himself and especially decide to tell him that, even going so far as to spam him.
And to the people who have been saying to "just ignore it," the original reason why the OP posted this in the first place was because he was afraid of how people in a worse spot mentally would take this extreme toxicity. If someone had been having suicidal thoughts, and was spammed by a toxic player and told to kill himself, do you really think he would ignore that? Or be able to ignore it in the first place? This isn't the OP just complaining about toxic players, he's sharing his experience, his fear for other people who might end up in his situation, and his own mood being affected by these messages.
Sorry for the rant, hope you all have a good day
-
I know I'm late to commenting on this post, but I need to say something. I read some of the comments and saw several people saying "just ignore them," and even someone who said "If you tunnel I have no sympathy for you". Excuse me for how I'm about to put this but WHAT THE [BAD WORD] IS WRONG WITH YOU?? This is not so much to the people who say to just ignore them, but much more to anyone who thinks this kind of behavior is "deserved."
I don't give a flying fish whether the OP actually tunneled or not, but yes, getting tunneled or camped in a game is frustrating...for all of like 10 minutes. And this person was told to kill themselves because of that temporary frustration. There have been plenty of times I have encountered a Killer who tunnels hard or face-camps and want to say so many things to them, and sometimes I can't hold back a "Why tf did you tunnel me?? What did I do???" or something similar. But I have never told someone to kill themselves over a game, that is way over the top and inexcusable.
And to those that said to "just ignore them":
- If he was getting spammed, that makes it much harder to ignore
- What would someone who wasn't in a good spot mentally do/feel? Do you think that they would be able to ignore these comments? Because I sure as hell don't.
In general, I don't like that there are some people in this thread that seem to care so little about someone being subject to this level of toxicity, and I hate that there are a few people actually trying to turn this against the OP.
If you got this far, thank you for reading and sorry for the rant, I hope you all have a good day and don't have to deal with these kinds of people on DbD (or anywhere really) like the OP did.
