Flashlight saving near the hook
OK. So I understand WHY flashlight saving was changed. Accessibility and whatnot. But explain to me WHY and HOW can a KILLER who downs a survivor RIGHT BY THE HOOK, just SPAM CLICK SPACE BAR AND GET THE HOOK?????????????? WHY CAN THAT EVEN TAKE PLACE BEFORE THE FLASHLIGHT SAVE KICKS IN? And it's not a Skill issue because i blinded the killer, correct timing, i didn't do it too early, the blind was literally there, and the killer STILL MANAGED TO HOOK??? It's not even a ping thing i made sure to double check and we were both pinging 50ish. Can someone explain me what went wrong and why are you even allowed to do that in the 1st place??? with the old flashlight timing this would never have happened but now that it's more lenient for some reason the game even fails to register a save before they tell you you are allowed to hook?
this happened in the basement btw against dracula if that changes anything

and also no, i didn't blind AFTER the animation had finished, i blinded about a split second before it finished so before they even get a prompt to hook
Well it seems the hook animation takes priority over breaking out of the killers grasp when it comes to frames. As i have had MANY times where i wiggled to 99.99% and the last 0.01% didn't count because the hook animation locks in faster and cannot be broken. The same goes for flashlights/flashbangs.
I've also been on the killer end of it many times ive been blinded right about the same time as im about to hook and the hooking animation always seems to lock in faster, when the button is being spammed.
Yall do know that flashlight saves and pallet saves ar the same in that the killer needs to be able to move for them to work. At pallets you wait for the animation to finish and flashlights you have to do early so that when the blind comes through its when they are moving. This is why you can 180 mid flasholight save and still get blinded. In the case of OP you can still get the blind as they hook but since this game lacks servers its all based of killer latency. You can do the most perfect blind but because of ping (which is a whole rant that needs to be discussed as this is the only game where i dread someone with 80 ms or higher or i actually consider ping in anything i do) the killer has time to input the hook prompt before the game could ever register you blinded him.
If you let a killer down you right under the hook like that, you failed to bgin with. It's part of your skill expression as a survivor to not die in the single most convenient spot for a killer to pick you up. Even in that scenario latency, among other things come into play making it still quite a risky play.
This is a non-issue.
probably because of their spaghetti net code where killer actions are given priority in general, which is also why having super high ping on killer is actually an advantage
