Even though the forums are closing soon, this is a post I've been meaning to make for a while. New players have no way to know about Diminishing Returns, what it is or how it's affecting their builds. Even players who do know of it may not understand if it applies in certain cases, or may accidentally put on two perks without realizing or remembering they will be affected by DR. Sorry this took so long folks! I wanted to do slides for every killer to make sure all your comments went to use and had a purpose, but it ended up being a much bigger undertaking than I thought and it was difficult to motivate myself to get it done. But I've finished the last of the work the last couple of days, just as BHVR announced the end of the forums LOL. For those of you who simply want11 comments 262 views last activity

Ghoul's first hit is way too easy to get, like it is genuinely impressive if you somehow manage to mess it up. At least with Legion there is some meaningful counterplay (ignoring Iri Button + Julie's Mix Tape, which is another story entirely) and they don't rocket across the entire map in 2 seconds. Not only is the attack a ranged attack that happens right after you can cover 14m in a split se19 comments 355 views last activity

(Yes this is a long one, feel free to skip to the parts you care about) Now that it's been a few days, I'd like to look at the PTB as a whole after having time to play with a lot of the PTB myself and watch others and their ideas as well. And as a whole, the PTB will be great for the game, and if we get recurring perk update patches like this it will make the diversity of matches so much better.16 comments 228 views last activity

I've used most of the survivor perks affected by the PTB changes for a few games each, and while some are mostly QoL changes, there are some that I feel there is something that needs to be said and changed. As of now I haven't had the chance to use a good amount of the killer perks that have been changed, so I am keeping this to survivor perks and will be skipping over the perks I don't believe n5 comments 92 views last activity

If you know me or have seen my posts, you will know that I've had a lot of negative things to say about some of the perk changes. And while I stand by those complaints and concerns, at the same time I don't think I've taken a moment to acknowledge how good of a thing this patch is overall for the game and its future. I still have more I want to talk about regarding this update, but I'm going to t1 comments 50 views last activity

The new Shoulder the Burden is absolutely obliterated for anyone that isn't in an experienced SWF. The penalty is 3 times as long and broken also makes you a more obvious target, and you also waste time healing after the 2 minutes are over. The most controversial part of the change is removing the ability to use it if another survivor has used it once in the trial already. Again, this only makes4 comments 31 views last activity

I was genuinely excited for this patch, I thought both sides would get some interesting perk updates that unlock new unique perk combos, and maybe this would give me a reason to start playing more survivor again since every patch lately I've been pushed to play more and more killer. And we did, on the killer side. Genuinely think there are some great changes for killer perks, a lot of them have12 comments 241 views last activity

For Myers, I think his rework is overall looked upon pretty negatively by the community. A good portion of Myers players choose to waste an addon slot on Tuft of Hair just so they can have the old Myers experience. Without yet another possibly complicated rework with a brand new power, I think the easiest thing to do is just make Tuft of Hair the base kit Myers . A lot of people suggest that removing aura reading on her Nurse's blinks is what Nurse needs to be more balanced. However, while that could perhaps be a good idea, most good Nurse players do not need aura to steamroll lobby after lobby. Here are a few different ways Nurse could be changed to make her more balanced and healthy for the game: The simplest solution: Increase the recharge time of th4 comments 90 views last activity

The difference between a Billy with Engravings and Boots and a Billy without is night and day. There is hardly ever a time that I see a Billy without them, at most I'll see them with boots and no engravings. These changes are aimed to make it so Billy doesn't feel like he absolutely needs Engravings and especially Boots, while also slightly nerfing the maximum values of both his Movement and Turn7 comments 108 views last activity

I feel like Wraith is already in a decent spot, however he can feel pretty terrible without some of his most used addons, especially "Swift Hunt" (uncloak speed). There are also 3 different versions of both the "Swift Hunt" and "Windstorm" addons which really eats up space for more creative addons. Because of this, I'd like to see these two addons become partially base kit and for the Mud variant4 comments 70 views last activity

Hey, this is a new series of posts I'm starting, going through all the killers in the game one by one (perhaps one each day?) and saying what changes I'd make to them. Feel free to let me know your thoughts or what changes you would give each killer: For trapper, I think the first change I'd make is remove the limit of how many traps he an carry. Obviously Nurse has been S tier since her launch 10 years ago, and she is way too powerful in comparison to a lot of the roster. However, I'm not entirely sure how to even nerf her without her feeling awful to play and possibly being terrible. Many people have suggested removing her ability to see auras, but while I think that might nerf casual Nurse players, I think Nurse mains would be pretty77 comments 1,141 views last activity

As the title says, these addons are terribly designed. It doesn't mean it's overpowered, it's still Legion, but it is incredibly problematic. Of the two, honestly Julie's Mix Tape is worse. The game gives you one counterplay against Feral Frenzy (stunning) and Julie's Mix Tape completely eliminates it. This effect's unhealthiness is amplified by Iri Button, which in reality rewards the killer f9 comments 130 views last activity

TLDR: Invoking Salt is not that interesting after a few games and is an active waste of time and puts every survivor in it at huge risk. The quests requiring survivors to play 2v8 to complete them are ridiculous and probably were made to make survivors play even if it isn't fun. Basically the only draw to the game mode is playing killer with a friend, which does nothing for survivor players. W2 comments 193 views last activity

This was a common complaint last time 2v8 was out, along with Lights Out. Obviously I understand why we wouldn't be able to bring other offerings into a trial, as in these gamemodes that could be completely busted. However, if we have BP offerings that do not affect gameplay whatsoever, why are we not able to use them? This would be especially useful for killer players that get absolutely zero bp5 comments 80 views last activity

Dear BHVR, The overhaul that is coming some time next year (hopefully) will be a huge deal for the community but also will probably attract a ton of new players to the game, along with old players that quit. I don't think anyone here would be surprised if DBD smashes it's concurrent player record on Steam. I was recently running Second Wind for the first time in a little while, and I genuinely think it's an underrated perk. However, the activation condition is kind of awkward at times and isn't clarified by the description. Currently, the perk says that it becomes active "After you heal 1 Survivor." However, more accurately, the perk activates after you heal a survivor for 1 full health state. Wit2 comments 51 views last activity

After posting my previous attempt at addressing tunneling, I was given some feedback that it was too much at once and possibly too complex. I was also made aware of some issues of unintentional or intentional sabotaging if teammates were to see a death hook survivor's aura. As such, I'm simplifying this theoretical "update" to be not only more realistic but also much more simple and easy to under7 comments 101 views last activity

TLDR : Basekit Babysitter (except when exit gates are powered). Unhooked survivors have immunity for 1 second after their unhook animation ends to prevent killer power double hits. A death hook survivor's aura is revealed to teammates and can see teammate's auras if it is early in the game. If a survivor is killed early in the game, all other survivors are granted a 25% repair speed bonus. Every1 comments 50 views last activity

Everyone on this forum knows there's a huge overhaul (hopefully) coming next year. Not only will the graphics be overhauled but the code as well. The overhaul will very likely bring in a ton of new players, and bring back old players that quit, but as it is, just like with the FNAF chapter, DBD will likely fail to retain most of those new players. As the title says, what are your most hated perks? Or maybe what perks do you think are the most frustratingly designed? For me playing as a survivor, my most hated perks are definitely Spirit Fury and Pentimento. TLDR : We should have more servers and have them more thoughtfully spread out to properly cover especially certain parts of the US and Europe. If you want a quick comparison, I provided a current server map, a map of the comparable in playerbase size R6 Siege's servers, and finally an ideal DBD server map. I just got out of a game where an Aurora was being hard tunneled from the beginning of the game. I haven't seen anyone talking about this since @Rokku_Rorru I believe made a post about it during the PTB (although maybe I missed the discussion), so I'll start it. Exile needs to count as a hook, because it causes problems for both sides. As of now, killers are heavily restricted in what builds they can put on the Judgment, as not only does Exile not count as a hook stage for a lot of perks,9 comments 171 views last activity

Because BHVR seems to have expressed interest in at least doing very simple number changes to perks because they are quick to do and require little resources, I decided to go through a bunch of perks and draft out a bunch of changes that (this will almost certainly never happen) BHVR could just copy paste if the devs agree with them. The communication wheel finally coming to DBD (it's been 10 years, and there was already something similar in the dead mobile version) is great news for solo survivor players, including myself. I played a few games on the PTB, but I usually like to otherwise wait for the killer to come to live to play as / against them. It's no secret that aura reading is incredibly powerful on the Judgement. They might be able to make use of aura reading better than any other killer, the only exception being possibly Nurse. I have, since I started playing this game 5 years ago, been a Billy enjoyer. For a while I enjoyed playing Billy (ironically I played more of him pre-buff), but I've always been a huge enjoyer of looping Billy. Both Do No Harm and Flow State are nice perks that get overshadowed by other similar perks. The reason why is simple, they just don't work sometimes, and especially for Flow State which I honestly like a lot already, they are useless at the beginning of the game. I came back to this game after a year break maybe about 3-4 months ago. I have been an 80/20 survivor main from pretty much the first time I played 5 years ago, and back then I would mostly just play killer to get achievements. Forgot to make a forum post about this, I figured it'd be nice for people to know before they found out on their own. Power Struggle is completely broken, it'll drop a pallet on a killer's head, not stun them, then when the killer returns to the pallet to break it, then it stuns them. There are other changes that I'd like to see with Springtrap, but the main one is this. As of now, when you down a survivor with the axe, you have no access to your power for 8 seconds, as this is the blanket cooldown for all successful axe hits. However, when downing a survivor in an area with other survivors, this becomes a huge hinderance to how much pressure you can have and makes it signific7 comments 70 views last activity

Hello everyone, I'm on the forums quite a lot and have been seeing a lot of discussions about the updated Vigil nerf. Despite being an 80/20 survivor main, I am of the camp that the perk was unhealthy and needed to be changed in some way, although the updated nerf seems to have gone a bit too far. Skull Merchant, another bottom tier killer, is getting a full rework, but I don't want that for Ghostie. I like his simple gameplay as both killer and survivor and find it enjoyable, but he needs a bit of a boost as is. These are a bit tentative to see where he might end up on a tier list after these changes, but even if they're small I think they're a good place to start. The net code is driving me crazy and it literally makes me want to quit this game sometimes. Because I am US central I am always on at least 60ms, but often 70-90ms. The current Penti is a bit more manageable than old Penti, which would flat out slow down repair speed by 30% with one totem without having any aura reading to find where it is, but current Penti is still problematic and too strong for its conditions. The aura reading mitigates it somewhat, but this adversely affects solo queue survivors, as they will have more difficulty finding totems cleansed6 comments 100 views last activity

In the Discord Dev livestream they announced that they will be increasing the distance you can see the Judgement's laser so that people on totems (because of how strong totem builds are on the killer) can have an easier time dodging them. This post comes from 2 things: Many, many comments recently talking about how survivor is stale The game considers items the equivalent of a killer power, of which there are 7 vs 44 including Judgement Honestly I kind of find it hilarious that items are considered the equivalent of a killer's power, but either way my point is that items, like killer powers, can enable unique forms of play. As I said in the title, Sadako might be the worst designed killer in the game. On normal maps, her power to place condemned on survivor isn't a big deal. Every once in a while a survivor will have to do a tape but that's it. She doesn't have much power in chase, so she's pretty weak. On two-story maps, however, it's a completely different story. Survivors are constantly in range to be condemned5 comments 161 views last activity
