Ah ok. So then what if as a "fix" they make the amount of BP earned pool together for the team as a whole? That way if someone does get tunneled and singled out then hey, they can view themselves as the chosen distraction while the rest of the team does their objectives? If they want to come save the hooked person then boom, more points for the team earned, and if the killer wants to go chasing that same person again, well they're doing the job being the nice shiny distraction and at the end if they do end up dying, but the rest of the team escapes, they get a share of the points earned at the end and feel like they contributed in some meaningful way and not get screwed out of points.

Imo this doesn't take anything away from the killer, it addresses the problem(?) I've seen pop up a few times about how survivors don't earn as many BP as killers do, and it doesn't take away a regular strategy for the killers to use, they can still choose to tunnel or hunt everyone. If anything this might turn around the idea of getting picked on to "well, guess I'm the one who's gonna keep this guy busy while everyone else does their thing" and it really wouldn't change how survivors play because any little thing they do gets added together to better their rating as a whole, so they can still choose to either leave the guy hanging or go save them and try to earn a better rating.

    Would something like this work?

I wouldn't be opposed to that at all! That's a really good post! Hope more people see it. Mainly, people lose BPs while being in the match if they get tunneled and camped because they can't do much of anything but chase points. That would solve most of the anger towards it. Even if you get 1-hooked, you still get a good bounty! I like that a lot!

(Edit: @MandyTalk Do you mind deleting this one? My internet spazzed and took forever to post and ended up double posting. Please delete, thank you!)

  • I got the Gnome finally! Played as Survivor and got it near the exit gate as I was leaving lol.

pretty sure first laugh doesn’t indicate the location but it’s a map wide notification.

and the laugh whensomeone else stomps it is also map wide I think..

i actually didn’t hear a nearby-laugh when I found one, just found it randomly near an exit gate because the time was running out..

Ah, that would explain a lot. Thank you.

  • Even as killer, I cannot find this damn Gnome. Does he move or something because I heard it laugh near a house on Haddonfield before giving up and going across the map near the exit gate and heard it laugh again. Driving me nuts.

I've had multiple games now where Killers have been asking if we found the Gnome, I have had no idea what they are talking about lol. So far no one in my match has found it though, despite apparently some Killers trying to.

    1. Yes, killers can find and stomp the gnomes.
    2. There is only one gnome on the map, but whenever it's destroyed it will respawn somewhere else.
    3. I'm not sure, but I imagine if someone has already kicked a gnome that they can't kick another one.

@ReviloDBD I heard the laugh as killer but never found it so I wish they would make him laugh a lot louder to track him

@QwQw Thank you for the info, Man! I really appreciate it!

  • No tells where she is. That's it. Look at it this way. What if Wraith could go invisible then immediately whack you once he sees you just because he could uncloak really fast? It wouldn't be fun and even in Wraiths' case, he snarls up a storm, moves grass and corn. Spirit just stands still, hisses then immediately can come from any direction to hit you. Is she behind you? In front of you? Coming from the side? You don't know and when you get hit without any way to tell, it isn't fun or enjoyable because you didn't get outplayed by a smart play. You got hit by an invisible killer while you moan half a block down the street. That's why she's hated.

(Edit: Wraith can even be seen shimmering near an area when close enough so you know the direction so you can react while Spirit does nothing but appear and hit.)

  • Spirit is the epidemy of unfun. Blight when not j-flicking up a storm to do a u-turn around a rock is hella fun to go against. I have never been mad at a Blight who 4k'd us or even me. It takes a lot of skill and quick reactions of your surroundings plus a little math to see if you can hit someone at a certain angle. I got mad respect for Blight mains because I suck as Blight. I just can't react fast enough to quick turners while trying to find something to bounce off of.

    (Edit: changed someone to something)

  • Sometimes the best option is to do both. It has won me many games where I was down to 2 gens while trying to be nice and I just had to remove someone out of the game. Also, camping can bring others around you for some free hits causing a snowball. I have to disagree with you on this. Both are fine and valid tactics.

  • I have. I keep getting people from damn Peru who hit me from like 10 steps away from a T-Wall. Like no joke. It's really frustrating.

Ah yes, I remember all too well when I got caught off-guard by an Old Freddy with Blood Warden, during the Moonrise event.

I mean, I was literally playing against my main, so I thought I was going to be able to read him like a book and escape easily. Oh my friend, if only I knew...

Blood Warden is such a terrible surprise XD

  • The Mansion from RE1. It's what got the game off the ground and made the series remembered after all these years. I also say that because Jill will be a playable character (the twitter account made a reference from the first game about a junkyard sandwich (Jill Sandwich)). Also, the other will be Leon since he's loved by many and starred in 2 games plus he'll be starred in a new Netflix special for RE. Why wouldn't they choose the 2 characters that people love? Chris will probably be a Legendary skin. That's at least what I believe. Oh, and it'll be Mr. X since its a reference to RE3 original PS1 Case. The 5 looks like the 3 in reverse from the case. That's just my guess.

  • Yeah, that is a bit annoying. It really should be punishment instead.

  • Yeah, that is a bit annoying. It really should be punishment instead.

  • I prefer to say 3 kills is a win and 4 is a curb-stomping. Same as survivor, 3 escapes is a win (or a pip). 2 of either is a draw and 1 on either is a loss. That's how I've always seen it.

  • I wouldn't call it, "cheating", but I would prefer to see it BEFORE the match begins so I can decide how to play against it, rather than after. Also, add a double BPs for the killer as payment for dealing with it.

  • I still say that it should have a 5 second opening period for iri and 10 second for purple. That way you would have to not be in a chase to use it for a free escape but it doesn't rob someone of actually using the key.

  • @Power_Guy said:

Honestly, it should not decay until you use it.

And then it should only decay (once activated) if you throw knives. Just let it give Trickster infinite knives for <x> amount of throws, at it's increased throw speed.

I'm sick of getting it when Survivors are 1 throw away from going down. It's wasted if I use it, and disappears if I don't.

Wow. That.. isn't actually that bad O.o It's the same as before yet you don't have to reload shortly and it still has its worth plus it still has the increase throwing rate. Bravo! I wouldn't be opposed to that.

  • I'm proud of you, Bro! Now go wreck some people with that beautiful creature!

Yeah you have a few good points. I'm a chill kind of gamer, so I think i find the sweat off-putting sometimes. But then you get a game where the stars align, and everyone in it are funny people, and that's what I think I keep coming back for.

I'm with you, Bro. Those are the moments that I remember forever about this game. Even with all the ######### we get hit with, those moments will last a lifetime. When this game is dead and gone, and none of the new people get to experience it, we can still talk about the stupid crap that we did in those games and laugh. Also, Body Block Hag (the add-on that makes them solid) who puts them in a house before leading you into it and nailing you then watching you panic and run into everyone before you realize you're screwed and turn around to see her just nod her head up and down has to be my most fondest memory. It was so damn good and NEVER thought of doing that with Hag before.

  • I really wish I could talk to console players sometimes. Some are damn good and others', I really wish I could help them with a killer by giving them a bit of my knowledge. Yeah, there are cases where people just want to do it to rub salt on some wounds but being able to thank a Bill or a Nancy who went out of there way to save your skin from a basement Bubba or Hag and successfully get out just makes me wish there was a way to thank them. Some killers stomp me really good but aren't being ######### during and I would love to tell them how much fun I had. I still have a video of a killer who destroyed me from 2 years back and I still wish I could have told them how great they were. You don't always got to win to have fun. Sometimes the most fun is getting outplayed and going, "OH #########! HE'S/SHE'S GOOD!" Then seeing how long you can stay alive. Same goes with Killer when you get that really good looper and its just you and that person. You have that stare down and know its about to get real lol. Maybe its just me but I find chases the most fun and the harder they are to escape from or catch, the more enjoyment I get.

  • I really enjoy the reactions and actions of others' during game. There is always that thrill when you mindgame someone as killer/survivor and manage to either get away/down someone who was really great. Gives you a feeling of empowerment that other games seem to lack. Everyone remembers there first jumpscare on here or meeting a Hag for the first time and triggering a trap before almost shitting themselves lol; or a Myers grabbing them off of a gen or watching him, watching you while he's staring at you through a small window lol. It's these moments that keep us coming back. Even if you have a ton of stressful games, one really fun match can change your entire demeanor in a positive light. Not every match will be great or super fun but when you get that 1 match that just fills you with so much enjoyment, it makes it all worth it.

I'm not sure there would be anymore Lobby dodging than there is already. People have all sorts of ways (some correct and some incorrect) to gauge/guess whether they loaded in with a SWF. If people already think they can tell, they dodge. I think a level playing field (or the BP bonus you suggest) would go a long way to solving the issue entirely. My suggestion has always been to unlock an extra Perk Slot for the Killer whenever the get a 3+ SWF and test that out to see if it equalizes the intelligence advantage. Only by testing will we be able to tell if it is enough or not.

I think they should tell us when we face a SWF or more importantly when we don't because Solo suffer the brunt of the issue. Killers have to assume they are dealing with a hardcore SWF until proven otherwise or they can literally lose the game in the first two minutes. By the time I realize I'm not dealing with Seal Team SWF, I've already hobbled the average Solo team and totally demoralized them. At that point the damage is pretty much done. I'd like to know so I have the option not to come on like freight train. I'm still going to play to win, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be rattlesnake mean, and I will make sure those Solo get lots of points and practice. I will be more cavalier and take risks I wouldn't against a SWF, and in doing so I can experiment and learn, and they can possibly turn those risks into wins.

I completely agree with you. Been saying it for awhile but the post that I have done never got anywhere and soon got buried under the tunneling, camping and key threads that we always see now. BPs would make a nice offering for the trouble and now that you can see who is and who isn't, you get a chance to react accordingly.

  • I never dodge. It's my own rule. If we're going to get steamrolled, do your best and learn from it. If I'm killer, don't let the match get you tilted because you can't win every one.

(Edit: split everyone into every one)

  • @alioth27 said:

@AVoiceOfReason I thought about that, but I figure that happens anyway when your teammates screw around and don't get gens, and the best survivor either finds a hatch or dies on their first hook at the end of the game.

I'd rather have my chance at the hatch or gate then. Ive seen some really stupid crap from randoms and I really don't want to be punished for it.

  • A perk like balanced landing without SB that always worked but only at 70%. I use to love BL for the reduction that it did but now the entire perk deactivates, it made it useless since there isn't many drops in the maps.

  • Clickers do it to keep your attention off of their teammates and though it may be annoying, it does serve a purpose in the match. Whatever someone can do to keep your attention off of gens, is a good strategy if they want to win. Same with teabagging.

  • I'm gonna be straight with you, Chief. I rarely get caught but if I died instantly because of other survivor's screwing with the killer and got steamrolled, I would be livid.

  • Its definitely still there. My friends got steamrolled today by a Blight doing it. Perfect u-turns around T-Walls. The guy was bragging about it at end chat. I just let it slide off my back but my dudes were livid about it. Wasn't much you could do against it.

I think it provides a competitive edge, but it isn't questionable because they have stated it is legal. My views on SWF are a matter of record. I think they need to be in their own Queues or Killers should have an additional Perk slot unlocked when they pull a 3+ SWF to help offset Comms. Me and my own, we will talk on Comms but our rule is not to talk about the game. We might discuss football, movies, etc. but no calling out the Killer's position. That is a personal choice. I don't expect others to do it, nor hold them to our standard.

I do hope the DEV eventually either unlock a Perk for Killers facing SWF or add additional Objectives because SWF are hurting SOLO Players far more than they are hurting Killers. To put it simply, Killer players adapt. I fight SWF pretty frequently and at my level, many of them are well-coordinated and fully loaded out. I do ok, but I'm also insanely competitive. The problem is that while Killers are adapting to fight the competitive edge SWF bring to the table, the Solo are now thrown against Killers who treat every game (because they can't be sure until it is too late) as if it is a SWF. It causes a lot of misery for Solo Players and it isn't the Killer's fault. :)

If I knew when I'm facing Solo versus when I'm facing SWF I would play appropriately. Since I don't, I have to assume the worst.

If they locked items after 20 seconds to give a killer a chance to change perks still would be fine, in my opinion. Same with letting killers know its SWFs and I've been advocating for the SWFs thing for awhile now but had so much push back since most would dodge the lobby, causing higher que times.

Just give double the BPs for the trouble of facing them and I doubt anyone would dodge but at the end of the day, it's the devs that can make the final decision.

The whole comms point is mood. There is a chat box on pc. Solos can do this too

While i agree the op's choice of original tittle to this post was poor there is nothing to be antagonized over. Nothing antagonizing was done

There is no advantage they are gaining as long as they are switching to no items. Which they did apperently. Lightborn isn't wasted here. You still dealt with their flashlights just by the perks existence

If anything they are putting themself at a disadvantage because if the killer didn't pick a anti flashlight perk they lose the flashlights they could have used

Closing the hatch in someone's face is different from this. Pretending to give hatch is like a brother pretending to give his sister a candy bar and then eating it himself before so can get it. What OP did was pretending to eat the candybar but then giving it anyway. There's a world if difference between that.

The other examples you gave are good examples of antagonizing behaviour but this just isn't. Nothing harmfull was done. The only thing that happened is that instead of making flashlights useless lightborn made them dissapear

As i said before. Think if something is worth being upset about before being upset about it.

Yeah, that was the point. I should have worded the title better and SWFs don't really bother me that much when I play killer because I don't take this game that seriously anymore and for good reason. I see the ones getting mad about it because they want to win no matter what instead of just taking the game in stride.

I see a helluva lot of tunneling in solo q and even when I'm playing with my dudes at night but I'll defend it since it's the best choice sometimes but getting mad at something stupid like taking off flashlights while being fine with old moris, keys and face camping with Bubba is fine tells me all I need to know.

This game will NEVER be competitive in a true sense. RNG can make or break your chances at it. Why should I sweat every match and ram my head against a wall until I go to the forums and complain about SWFs, Face Camping, Tunneling, Keys and just other stuff that the game works best by doing?

You want to treat the game as a competitive game then actually doing your best to give yourself an advantage is the best way to do it as long as you're not breaking the rules or using cheats. Yet when someone loses enough times, they lose their ######### either way.

  • I guess a mod changed the title themselves to make it better. Lesson learned, I guess. No matter how you play a match, someone will take offense and get mad on the forums. I'll make sure to check my titles next time, though. Man, the posts I did on PC look so much longer on mobile. Didn't even realize it.

  • I'm going to catch some heat for this but a small list:

More ways to get Iridescent shards

Killer's being able to see who was hooked and how many times like survivors

Double BPs for the rest of the year or just a higher amount of BPS in the bloodwebs, by default

A way to talk to the killer/survivors in close proximity, like maybe 5-6 meters (would be able to disable it)

New gesture for STOP so a survivor knows its not safe to run if its a stealth killer

Have a perk that removes 70% of your stagger from falls but does nothing else for survivors

A new item that hides your scratch marks and blood for 8 seconds (could be a medkit add-on that works only after being unhooked 1-time use)

A perk that allows a killer to get more stacks of double BPs but no other effect

A perk that allows survivors to get double BPs but no other effect

Faster Bloodweb (click and it instantly fills the node)

Show a Bloodweb path for the Entity (Shows what the killer will target before it targets and where it'll go next)

  • @ShinobuSK said:

I run franklin on some killers even if theres no item in the lobby, simply because survivors can find some during the trial. And even if they dont, I dont think its a wasted slot imo

Fair enough. It does help with certain scenarios like during a flashlight save and you can even bait it out. Wait for them to go back for the item and nail 'em again lol. I had a Wraith smack my flashlight out of my hands in the small room above Micheals' house and then just blocked the door (this was old Franklins) and shook his body, like no. My ITEM! Legit lost it lol. Thought it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. It was a purple, too. Man, I miss those days. You seen so much stupid stuff lol.

Without Tru3 and Otz, I'd be nothing at this game, like I was 2 years ago. The tutorial teaches you about 1% of the game, and content creators and streamers can tell you the rest.

No hate to True but I just don't watch him like that anymore but I'll give the man credit. He taught me a LOT and improved the rest over the years but the man was a legend when I first started playing. Taught me what a mindgame was, how to loop a pallet multiple times instead of just throwing it down and even how to play certain killers better (when there was only like 7 killers for console lol). Without him, I would have taken me so much longer to get better and survive.

oh I guess I just never saw it in action. it must count up and not down

You're correct, Sir. It took me a game to realize it, also.

  • I know! I thought it was really clever! Like a reverse trap but instead of making a killer pissed, you just leave them confused; thinking about life while trying to murder you XD

  • They got help from a Kpop *director, I think? Or someone who deals with Kpop idols and helped them with everything, including the designs, I believe. Maybe just the music? Can't remember where I read it from but yeah, it's pretty close to a normal outfit that a Kpop female would wear.

  • I play the same even if I go against SWFs. Most of the time, they aren't even that good but if its a good SWFs, I switch my goal to at least 3k'ing. If I get down to 2 gens and no one is dead, you bet your ass someone is being removed from the game. That usually causes a swarm to protect, which ends up with everyone injured and a new down with more leverage, overall.

  • I use 3 specific ones. The vial from the very first pass because I love how it looks. The 4th Year Cake charm because I was there and I. WAS. PUMPED! Final one is BNP charm from the first pass also because It's so different and since its so old, it shows how long I've been playing.

(Edit: Put in because instead of but XD

No worries I get what you were going for now. Probably doesn't help I'm half asleep now.

I just has to chime in becuase he was ranting pretty hard about the importance of player agency as a reason to not address camping so it seemed disingenuous to now say baiting the killer was somehow abhorrent,

I appreciate your understanding. I always type like that and it throws some people off but I think others get where I'm going. Also, no worries, Bro. It's almost 1 am here and I did a quick check on the forum for any new threads that didn't do with camping, keys, noed or something because dredging on about it won't really stop it and after awhile, you just don't even feel like giving input. Some people get why its funny but others don't and that's fine. If we were doing it to make the killers' life hell, I would be right there with the group but when it was just something really stupid and funny, I just had to post about it.

I really wish I would have taken screenshots of the end game. A lot of the killers thought it was pretty funny when we took all the flashlights away at the last second and was wondering why lol. That's it. Just a laugh or two then move on but it got so much traction that I wasn't really expecting. I guess I made a decent thread and it was kept civil. So to that, I appreciate all who replied and left comments, whether they didn't like or thought it was funny. Anything to keep from seeing the same threads every day. Thank you for taking your time out to talk. I'm a bit of a talker XD

I think you quoted the wrong guy I wasn't throwing shade your way

I know lol. I was speaking on what I've encountered since I posted this. I probably could have worded it better. I apologize for that. When I type, I usually speak in a general way because I'm a bit ADD and have trouble concentrating. It's why I usually edit stuff a lot because I might have double typed words and such. What I meant was in general, as a response to everything that was mentioned previously to me. That was nothing towards you at all. I just don't get why so many people take this game that seriously to the point that most of the forum is people complaining about stuff that isn't really affecting them personally. I try to play in a way for most to have fun but you can't stop from rustling someones' feathers no matter what you do or say. I don't want to edit the title because it was true on what I was saying, only if it was a small amount of 3 people who really got mad out of like 12 matches but I thought it was really funny and wanted to post while still playing.

It's what happens when you don't fully focus on something. I was replying in real time in-between matches. It was probably the most fun I've had in DBD in awhile. The amount of mori's last night was astounding lol. I'm probably going to try what the others' said with broken keys but not even take them off to see the reactions. It was all in good fun and pretty much all the killers thought it was good. Just 3 angry ones but that wouldn't even been the case if they had 4k'd us, you know? Fun is subjective. I've said it before. Again, not talking about you. It's just the way I reply and type, I guess. I've done it all my life and don't know how to change it so never think I'm talking at you but more with you, if that makes sense? I'm a bit scatter-brained.

(Edit: When I quoted you, I was inputting on what you said to him. Think of it like me being there and going, I know, right? Then speaking. Hope that helps. It'll help in the long run with me XD since I do it a LOT. Don't know to really address the comment to another by continuing the conversation except by just quoting.)

I'm kinda surprised I thought you were all about player agency? This would be another form of strategy kina like baiting the opposing player into making a mistake no?

Yeah. Trying to throw shade at my character without directly saying it. It's why I moved on after my final sentence. People say they tunnel then still lose and get mad then rant on the forum is fine. You say something that was pretty funny to watch and not many people were upset during and it's all-out aggression. It's why I don't bother with talking to certain people on the forums. It's obvious that they take the game too seriously and anything that affects them is just harmful. It was harmless fun and most enjoyed themselves but there are a few on here that I've noticed complain about certain things heavily and will strike at ANYTHING that relates to them having a chance at killing or surviving.

It was about a fun time with friends and it got turned into a them vs us thread. I don't know why I bother talking to certain ones on here. You can't feel guilty for something that wasn't hurting anyone. Maybe annoying them but ay, getting a 1k even with NOED will "annoy" certain people or not getting a 4-man escape bothers' others. From now on, I'm definitely posting more about stuff that I do with friends or as killer. Pretty interesting to watch people go nuts over something that isn't that big of a deal. Just like how killers used to throw up ebonies if they thought a group was SWFs lol.

"I don't go out of my way to make someone else's life hell". The title of your thread is literally "I found the best way to make a killer lose their #########", you find making people angry funny. Your lack of self awareness is astounding.

Yeah, I can't wait to hear about NOED, Keys and other stuff every day :) When someone mentions any of those, I'll be there laughing at how they lost a match because of something and rage on the forums like most do every day. It's a game. There is no rules against it and it was pretty funny.

  • They might do something for the 5th year Anniversary. We'll have to see, though.

Before anybody jumps down my throat over 'potato connection,' just be informed that I have good wifi, at 20 gigs on a 5G network. So, my connection is fine, for the most part.

It doesn't happen that often, but there will be a match or two where somebody just has the absolute worst connection. Hits don't register, constant rubberbanding, teleporting, prompts not activating, etc etc. Sometimes it's me, sometimes it's them. Either way, the connecting to the server is abysmal.

Why can't players simply leave a match, or have the match itself terminated, when that is going on? Surely it isn't difficult to monitor the connection of players, and if one or more players stay in the red for a certain length of time, you can leave without a dc penalty being applied? We can already see the ping of players in match, surely it wouldn't take much effort to add a limiter.

I've began running into a lot of VPN'ers lately and it's terrible. If you could see everyone's connection then people would dodge and it would take forever to find a match. That's the main reason.
