  • Enjoy, Everyone! Hope everyone learned something from this and remember! Spirit is fair and balanced with multiple counterplays!

  • On Spirit, Undying and Ruin is better. Not only can you grab them while phasing, the random auras lets you know there locations so you know where to phase to.

They keyed out at 2 Gens left.

This kind of matchmaking happens a lot. I consider this a solid damn win, but even them trash talking aside this was hugely stacked against me from the word go. I had to sweat mega hard and play dirty to even get any kills.

Use Ruin and Undying instead of Pop and Sloppy. You'll get better gen regression while being very aggressive at the same time. Learning tiles is also very important as killer. Final note, a key escape, I personally, consider it as a win as killer. That just means they had no other way to win so effectively, they got a "get out of jail" free card. At least, that's how I look at it.

  • Yes please. My ping is usually 55-60 then I get hit 3 steps after a pallet is dropped. It's infuriating.

its really annoying when they nerf something for no good reason. for example the billy's overheated mechanic, who asked for that the only thing Billy had that needed a change was his add ons. even in the patch notes don't clearly state why they nerfed him like that. They said he was a good killer and they like where he was, so they nerfed him, it doesn't make sense. another unnecessary nerf was discordance. for some reason they added a range limit to it I believe in the blight patch. they had to buff the range since it was so bad. what was the reason for nerfing discordance no one ever complained about it?

now for poor nerfs. these are nerfs that could have worked but were poorly executed like Freddy's nerf. it didn't do anything to him. he is just slightly worst. none of the problems were fixed about him. oh ya, an unnecessary nerf was also to Freddy's dream pallets. why dream pallets they were clearly worst than snares. another poor nerf was the twins nerf. although it doesn't really change their lethality it makes them feel so clunky to play. also, the nerf is so dumb, you being punished for using victor correctly which is so absurd. " you downed a survivor with your ability so here's a whole DS stun. the twins nerf didn't even change their problems as well. they need a nerf to their camping potential, not their potential slugging.

Billy got a overheat mechanic so no one could just infinitely rev in a survivors' face on the hook. Twins got nerfed because of the slugging but that was actually a bad one because it didn't fix the reason why the slugging was happening in the first place (victor spam) and Freddy got nerfed because people were just spamming blood pools around pallets (didn't fix that but the add-ons got changed because the slow-down ones plus perks were unbearable) and his dream pallets are much better since you get a free hit if they don't realize PLUS they are locked in the animation of the drop so you can get another hit before they get a chance to react with STBFL so honestly, Dreams should have been nerfed harder than his snares.

why should i get good, when i have to handle a ds stun everytime i use my power correctly if anything it should be when i dont use it correctly

If you miss a lunge, the window to kick Victor is already super short. They obviously didn't want someone to slug as Victor then keep going. It's why they put him in a stun. That should be the first reason on why he needs a CD. I never said they should have given him a stun after he's downed someone. I've always said that he needs a CD from being spammed, not when he gets a down on someone.

They really should do both! If they announce both, I'd play as both lol. I love playing as Shirtless David with his black jeans and black cap. Gotta show off that bod, you know what I'm saying? lol

I mean, for the life of me I don't understand how anyone would think that map is balanced.

Maybe the devs automatically think "its an indoors map, its killer sided so its fine" which wouldn't really surprise me

But no matter what side I play at red ranks, I find it almost impossible for survivors to lose on this map with 975 god pallets that are placed 7 meters apart from each other from one end to the next

A lot of the walls are blocked with breakable doors, making it hard for a survivor; after throwing a few pallets down below to get away in a chase. Force them to throw a good amount of pallets then punish the others' for doing so. It's not as bad as you think once you start to learn the layout.

"Dont loop around shack".. yeah because you know the iron grasp+ agitation combo that almost every trapper and myers runs doesn't exist.

Iron Grasp is literal garbage. Agitation gives you much more leeway to go to hooks plus you can outrun a survivor and whack them. Using them together is a wasted perk slot.

See, and I would LOVE to face a Twins player who mind games like that, but I honestly...have never seen it. In the entirety since Twins have come out, I honestly can't say I have faced a player who does those mind games. Those would be super fun and intense to face. Instead, I just get a camping, slugging, Victor spamming Twins, which is boring as hell. I literally stand still and just wait to die, tbh. Mmm, The only reason I said 10 seconds instead of 15 seconds was because I didn't want the toxic people to gripe and spam @ me/quote me as is per custom here on the dbd forums. I agree that 15 seconds would offer more incentive to using Victor in a strategic way instead of just constantly spamming and slugging. That would make me WANT to play against Twins more often because I love mindgames.

I try to make my matches fun for survivors without letting myself get steamrolled. Most games, I'll just 2 hook so I can get Brutal at Rank 1 and everyone seems happy. The only time I kill everyone is if someone is going out of their way to make my life hell. Twins can be really fun to play with if people would just give her a chance but most see Twins and just go to the same route of spamming Victor.

Definitely a bug then. Probably with your system though, as this has never happened to me, and I play for around 10 hours everyday.

Just had another game as Doctor and this time, Tier 3 David was down and I could see the notification. It just seems random.

  • Trickster is actually really good. Use his blades on survivors in the open, not at pallets. It'll do wonders for you.

  • Trickster is actually really good. Use his blades on survivors in the open, not at pallets. It'll do wonders for you.

  • I'm having the same problem as Doctor. Someone was down with Tier 3 Madness but no explosion and the scream wasn't directional. Just all around me. Didn't seem to have these problems until the new update. Once the new update hit, Hags' shackles didn't give me any notification whatsoever. I thought they was just useless lol.

  • Yeah, he/she showed me a video of it. For some reason, mine never made any noise. Still don't know why.

  • Dead Hard is fine. I face that and SB almost every match with not much of an issue.

  • @kazzymoyashi said:

Mmm, I would say a 10 second cooldown would be nice from both sides. It encourages people to not to solely rely on Victor to constantly spam him. It's really boring as a survivor to just constantly have someone spam Victor, especially since there seems to be LESS of a cooldown on his lunges - and therefore survivors can't just kick him as easily. I don't play Twins because I think they're a camping based killer and it's no fun to play that style. I would rather play any other, even Deathslinger - him, demogorgon, and many others have a cooldown that make sense - Victor does not. It would require a cooldown animation for sure to make it more viable, but I think 5 seconds is a bit too short. 99% of the Twins I have come across just spam Victor and constantly use him, which yes, I realize is part of the point as he is a power, but it's a little TOO frequent comparatively to other killers. Please correct me if I'm wrong - again, I don't play Twins - but I think Charlotte is the same base speed as a Trapper, so not slower, but then... Huntress can go without her power at 110 speed and still get a knock down, so you can't say Twins are too weak - just find a balance between power and M1.

I agree on all of that. The person of the Twins, in my understanding was mainly to maim a survivor with Victor and try to down the person with Charlotte. They also were meant to block hallways and doorways for mindgames so Victor to chase you to a location where Charlotte is waiting then switch back for a down. Playing that way is REALLY fun when I play her. I just hate this whole slug the entire team with a spammable power just because. 10 seconds, I'm not sure if that would still be long enough. Maybe 15 seconds would be fine since it takes 15 seconds to pick someone off of the ground and 20 something seconds to heal them so they still won't be able to heal but you would need to rely on Charlotte a bit more still.

That is...That is mistifying. I've only found and closed the hatch as the killer a couple of times now, so I just assumed that this was how it was supposed to be. So what normally happens when the killer closes the hatch? Nothing? The match just continues as normal? The exit gates don't open?

The survivors have to manually open the gates without being detected by the killer. A whole 20 seconds of hoping it isn't a killer with some type of speed effect lol.

I agree with you to a degree, but it isn't always wrong on the first down. I tend to do short range patrols and proxy-camp on the first down simply to test how altruistic the Survivors are as I consider that valuable information for the rest of the match. Once I know how eager they are for the save as compared to staying on mission to milk that hook, I can play more effectively. Only on the first down do I have the the leeway to really feel that out. But it is really a matter of play style I think. Face camping on the first hook it just idiotic, however, as it gives up all pressure, tests nothing, and just encourages the Survivors to bang the Generators out.

I just wander off to whoever I see with BBQ if they're on or near a gen then I whack 'em off and chase. That's more of my playstyle. It's pretty effective. Except as Legion, I stab 2 and chase the second if I don't see anyone else nearby but that's mainly because it's Legion and I lose time if I try stabbing them all in 1 frenzy with little pressure. If they stay injured, I just mindgame. If they all heal, I frenzy again lol. That's just my playstyle. Depending on the killer, I play different. I REALLY enjoy playing as Plague. I don't really know why but something about them healing with my fountains just to pay them back double for the trouble is just really enjoyable lol.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2209692#Comment_2209692

This doesn't happen to you? Does it happen to any of you other guys?

I first noticed it when my friend and I played a 1 v 1 match to each try out a killer. I found the hatch and closed it and BOOM, instantaneously the doors opened. I was like "Oh. Didn't mean for THAT to happen", lol.

Then, sure enough, in a couple of regular games I was the last survivor and looking for the hatch. The icon was on my screen. Then, as soon as the icon disappeared, there was the familiar bell and suddenly the endgame collapse was happening. I had to switch gears and hightail it to the exit right then and there.

If this is abnormal I wonder if some other variable was in play that I don't know about. I much prefer the idea that if the killer closes the hatch, the survivor still has to be elusive and make his or her way out. Closing the hatch, in my games anyway, has basically been a "get out of jail free" card. It didn't make sense which is why I remember it.

I have NEVER seen that happen as killer or survivor XD Definitely not intended but it is funny lol.

I agree, I always try to go for the one on the generator. But Ive seen killers that just dont care and camp and tunnel whatever happened, and I just want to understand them.

It's because a lot of killers never learn their tiles. They rely too much on 1-hit down perks or bloodlust. It really starts to urk me when people complain about Rank 1 killer being so hard to play. I never have much trouble as Rank 1. I play all killers and I play a ton of survivor. I see a lot of people who will face camp the first person then say I was gen rushed. Like come on, Man. Show a little resolve in your argument. Sometimes tunneling and camping IS the best option as killer but doing it at the first down is just stupid. You might as well say, do me harder please.

  • @ManWithALemon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2209719#Comment_2209719

It doesn't hold weight since you base your arguments off of unreliable anecdotal evidence that are probably untrue to begin with. If anything, the fact that you use rank 1 as an argument for your skill shows that you DON'T know what you're talking about.

My bad. Let me go ask a Rank 20 how good killers are.

  • @ManWithALemon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2209656#Comment_2209656

"I pLaY KiLlEr aT rAnK 1 AnD dO wElL"

It's almost like ranks are completely irrelevant and the vast majority of rank 1 players don't know anything, you and most of the Survivors you go against included, and talking about how good you are holds absolutely no weight—ESPECIALLY when you complain about BILLY of all Killers.

    Bad bait, 2/10.

I have NEVER complained about Billy. Not even once. I was part of the group who didn't like that they nerfed him so much. Also, my skill as killer does hold weight since I'm giving my opinion from both sides of the spectrum. Just because YOU can only slug people with a 5 second power doesn't mean YOU are good.

  • I only hate the fact that they gave Nurse a normal lunge instead of her quick swing like in the old days. That took SKILL because you had to pretty much land on a survivor to hit them. Now you just have to be in the ballpark for a hit and that isn't what Nurse was about when people use to respect her. Bring back her short, quick swing and we'll see who actually plays Nurse good when you HAVE to use GOOD blinks.

  • Camping should never be your first resort. If everyone is around you, fair enough but if you just stand there with no one around then complain about gen rush, you're the problem. Tunneling is sometimes the best option if they aren't trying to do gens. If they are, get them off of gens until someone is down. If you tunnel someone over and over again and they're actually wasting your time while others are on a gen, again, you're the problem. You lost because you played bad. Learn your tiles as killer.

  • @Caleegi said:

I get what you are saying, i think the 5 sec cooldown should stay and to the person who said it should be 20 secs i think thats an awful idea. 20 secs would make the twins too weak once again, 5 secs is like the nice middle ground imo. They should change the animation tho.

The problem with 5 seconds is Victors speed. You can't do anything once he starts downing people. It's just an inevitable slug fest.

Hmm, in my games when I'm the last survivor and the killer closes the hatch the exit doors open immediately.

    (2:25-2:35)

Weird O.o I never get one when I use them, though. The explosion thing. Maybe I have to be a certain distance away to get one for them or something O.o Fair enough. Yeah, if they want to nerf it, I don't mind at all. I still don't understand how he's getting explosions when using them but I used for them for 3 games straight and never once got an explosion notification O.o

Dude, babyraging legit made me laugh lol. I'm definitely using that next time XD

  • Grabs should still be a thing if they're injured. It isn't really about WHO finds the hatch first. It's mainly if you can down them while they stand on the hatch and then move them before they jump in or crawl in. Hatch stand-offs was never fun for me. I remember on PS4, I had a hatch stand-off for over 20 minutes. No joke. I ended up grabbing the person but jesus, never again will I wait that long XD

(Edit: But to play devils' advocate, if you're the last survivor and the killer DOES close the hatch, the doors should be able to be opened in 10 seconds instead of 20 for fairness.)

  • @ManWithALemon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2209345#Comment_2209345

Sounds like someone didn't do bones and now bases all balance decisions off of that.

I always run Small Game and I'm coming from this point of view as a survivor who always goes against killers at Rank 1 who can't stop loops at all then when NOED is dead before they get a chance to use it, they get like 1 hook and complain about gen rush. Hell, I even do KILLER VIDEOS as a Rank 1 KILLER and I play ALL killers and do tutorials on the best way to play them.

So no, if you don't LEARN how to stop loops and break off of certain chases and your only ability is to spam a fast mobility power for fast downs because its easier than just learning how to actually stop survivors or spam slug everyone, you're only hurting yourself. There is a reason no one really complains about Oni but if he could just spam his power every 5 seconds, people would lose their ######### in no time.

5 seconds wouldn't be so bad if Victor wasn't as fast as Billy and can continually spam slam someone until everyone is locked down on the ground. Hell, even using WGLF, you can't even get someone up in time before Victor re-downs them. It's only a matter of time before everyone is slugged because you CANNOT do anything in-between him being spammed, trying to get someone off of the ground, do a gen and then have to worry about the actual KILLER parked near gens somewhere.

That's my point. I see a lot of killers who say Rank 1 Killer is unfun and unplayable. Why is it that I play all killers and never go below a 3k? You know why? I learned my tiles on console before coming to PC. I was forced to learn or get bullied. I never use NOED nor do I use MYC or any 1-shot perk. I don't even use Devour because I know my tiles very well and cut most people off.

  • What it DOESN'T say is that it DOESN'T tell Hag that you don't get a notification that your trap is triggered either. I've used that add-on a few times and get ######### on because if I don't pay attention, I never notice someone triggering one until they're far away and I just lose a hit. If they want to remove that add-on, I wouldn't care. My opinion on it is its a detriment. Not only does it not YANK a survivor for you so it makes a hit easier for the Hag, it also doesn't notify the Hag unless you're already chasing or just waiting for someone to trigger it. I prefer to port and hit, not stare at a trap and hope someone triggers one.

  • @Yords said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2209532#Comment_2209532

The difference is that all the other exhaustion perks don't require survivors to drop a pallet.

Yes but other's have a requirement except SB. You want nothing but DH and SB? That's exactly how you accomplish that. I just want an exhaustion perk that I can actually use without being a detriment to my own skills.

  • @Yords said:

Yeah and have every baby survivor waste every pallet on the maps? No thank you.

It's an exhaustion perk. That can be applied to all the others.

  • @indieeden7 said:

Why is everyone ignoring the fact that Rusty Shackles are a ridiculous add-on?

Rusty Shackles are pretty trash. They don't give you a notification that someone triggered them, they don't yank the survivor AND you won't even know they got triggered unless you constantly look around to see if it turned white. They are VERY lackluster. I don't even use them anymore XD

  • It's based upon FAIRNESS, since people rely on bad plays and NOED to win. Learn your tiles instead of spamming a power since most never learn to play properly. I see a lot of Rank 4's who rely solely on NOED as a crutch at the endgame then say, Oh, I got gen rushed. Nah, Bro. You literally chased someone all game and was banking on NOED. If you can't even properly stop a T-Wall loop efficiently and just run straight at a survivor, you shouldn't have NOED to crutch your rank for you. She's not balanced. All killers have a CD of 20 seconds except for Victor who gets spammed to death until everyone is slugged. If THAT is all you can do is use a high mobility "power" to aggressively attack until everyone is down since you refuse to use your actual killer, you shouldn't be rewarded for it.

1 … 21 22 23 24 25 … 46
