Get lucky, mainly. I always run Small Game now after the change. It's helped a lot during solo q. Would recommend it as a meta perk.

I'm not judging you by anything you have done (or not done) other than this single thread. Your inability to own up to the fact it is ethically challenged (to say the least) is your issue, not mine. I didn't ask you to defend your life history gaming, nor do I comment on it. I am merely holding your toes to the fire over your specific title of this thread, and what you originally posted. The fact you kept digging the hole deeper by being incapable of understanding why not everyone finds this as entertaining as you do, is also your problem.
But let's play Devil's Advocate here; what if I'm just one of those weird people who likes gutting people on forums for fun? Could it be I hunt the threads looking for someone who has stepped in it so I can proceed to slowly, painfully, and psychotically drag them over the coals? What if I think that is funny? What if I get my jollies that way? What if it makes me feel powerful and because this is "just a forum" isn't to be taken seriously? What if getting you to act defensive and go into that defense of your history was a win condition for me? Would you find that funny? Wouldn't you find that a perverse thing for me to take enjoyment in? I'm just asking here since you now, none of this is serious.
I don't know you. I am entirely focused on this thread and what you said. It isn't supportable behavior. You have to know that on some level, because you wouldn't have gotten defensive. For the record, I don't take any perverse pleasure in having to get into these debates, however many I seem to stick myself into. I feel more obligated than anything else, and annoyed by it. If you didn't intend the meaning you clearly stated when you created the title of this thread and by the context of your first post, you missed the mark you were going for. We don't see you as a mad prankster, a likeable rascal, or someone just having fun. We see you as someone metagaming by use of the SWF's 5th Perk (Comms) to further hobble the Killer in a match that you were already going into with a competitive edge. We see that, because that is all there is to it when you strip away your attempts to cast yourself in a better light. I'm actually trying to get through to you, because I don't think you are a terrible person at heart. I just think you are wearing blinders and being a bad sport.
I'm just showing that I don't go out of my way to make someone else's life hell. That's all. When I do something like this again, I'll post it again. It's a game. It's as simple as that and I'll keep playing the game same way as I enjoy playing it.

I hate Dead Dawg Saloon as Survivor. I always seem to run into dead zones across from the main area and get caught do to it. It's like a mini-maze. As Killer, my most hated map for just about every one is Hawkins. That map is my kryptonite.

You must have missed my earlier post where I asked for a name, so that if I (and other Killers) saw we pulled you in a room, we would know. That way we could join in your fun. My name in the game is exactly the same as it is here. I'm annoyed with your behavior because it is bad sportsmanship and you seem oblivious (or at least unwilling to admit) that it is ethically wrong. I realize that I'm archaic in my beliefs about good and bad sports, and that you may have no understanding whatsoever of what I'm talking about; more is the pity. People come to play the game in good faith, and have a hard enough time dealing with SWF without them using their Comms to manipulate the match before it has even begun. Do I care personally? No. But do I care about this kind of behavior because of the way it affects the overall community? Yes. Bad sportsmanship hurts all of us.
I don't try to ruffle feathers on Steam with any person that I face. I have NEVER insulted someone over a match except for me complaining about desync over certain tiles or when the pallets wouldn't stun. I'm always genuine with others' who I face, either as killer or survivor. I don't delete comments unless they are just lies but I take screenshots before I do because I hate it when people get mad about something that I DIDN'T do. You can go through my comments also, if you want. There are like 2 that aren't very happy but it was out of my hands. The rest seemed pretty thrilled going against me. Hell, even when I play Spirit for dailies, I try to be nice and give survivors a breather against me, hence, my comment from Cowboy. I could have 4k'd them from the beginning but I ended up walking away and letting everyone get up since I do/feel that Spirit is unfair to go against. I practice what I preach and I don't try to "bully" a killer in a match nor as Killer.
You know why people seem to enjoy going against me as Killer? It's because I don't get into my feelings and lose my temper just because I get outplayed. I tell them that they were damn good and I hope I see them again so I can get better. Even the killers' I go against, complimented me on how good I was at loopin' them but I never let it get to my head. I show respect where respect is shown to me. I don't get any and I won't bother even chatting with the person. It's a game. That's it. I do stupid ######### in video's sometimes for laughs, like duck, duck, goose or peekaboo Pig and I generally have fun doing it and others' seem to enjoy it as well. If you keep looking at this game, solely on winning as the fun factor, this game will drive you mad. I'll add you on Steam then send you the Discord if you want to chat sometime. Me and my friends usually differ on how to play killer/survivor and I'm usually considered a killer main, believe it or not because I do defend killers more than survivors but I'm always civil with others' and their opinions.
(Edit: I tried typing your name into Steam and it gave me an error for the name. Is the ID your name?)

Good point. I forgot about that. That was never fun. Someone once told me if any player was searching through a chest while in struggle, it would mess your timing up. I saw it with my own eyes, twice- but I don’t know if that was actually the cause. Once i went into a chest, the other time it was me on hook and i saw a teammates aura trying to search a chest. This was before the animation was changed to trying to jimmy it open.
You're good! I still have anxiety from those matches lol. Never fun when the game decides to end you when your teammate is about to grab you lol.

And if you, claiming to be an all Red Rank SWF, have to resort to Metagaming to sabotage the Killers before the match even starts, what does that say about you? The problem is that you don't appear to have any empathy, and your idea of laughs is at the detriment of others. What I am pointing out, what you did just for fun, clearly wasn't fun for them. And, you are lying now, or you were lying when you started this thread. The title of this thread and your initial post make it clear this was done to try and aggravate them and get some laughs if you could make them lose it in the end game chatter. We have a crystal clear picture of you and why you did it; no amount of attempting to sugarcoat it is going to show you in a better light.
I notice you ignored my request for your Steam I.D. when I asked. Let's you and I take a trip back to the old days when everyone pretty much knew who everyone was in matches. Since you like laughs, and clearly think this behavior is acceptable, why don't you want to tell us who you are so all of who want to "laugh with you" can return the favor. I mean, if you think it was a hoot for all involved, you shouldn't mind Killers recognizing your name when you play, right?
- Metagaming? If that is a way of saying that I was making the games easier on myself with mori's then yeah, I guess you're right.
- Why should I have empathy for something that isn't that serious from the start?
- You seem more angry about this than the killers that we faced. Honestly, not sure why but you seem to have had bad games before against people. I play both sides a lot and I still don't see why you're getting so up in arms over something that was just stupid. We faced mori's every match. If it was still the old mori's, we still would have done it. It's just a game.
- I never seen you say anything about showing you my steam id. If you want it, https://steamcommunity.com/search/users/ Lupin The 3rd
I'm the first when you search it up. Blue Tuxedo with that dazzling smile! You can even see my YouTube channel where I play BOTH Killer and Survivor at Rank 1. Look at my comments and tell me how many people seem to be mad? Anything else you want from me? (Edit: Feel free to add me on Steam if you want! Or Discord and chat so we don't take up the forum over petty stuff. I try to be reasonable with whoever I chat with.)

New struggle great, old struggle; never again in a million years. The amount of times stutter has killed me was enough to rage out and stop playing for a day or 2. I can accept a death for being stupid or making a mistake but dying because of the game spazzing, not so much lol.

No, it isn't different. You are attempting to make the Killer play a Perk down.
If you have to have a 4th perk to have a chance at the game as killer, I don't know what to tell you. I play some games, all serious. Others', just doing stupid ######### with friends to see if the killer will laugh. I play killer and try to make survivors laugh, too. This isn't a case where we tried to bully someone to death. It was just for fun. I feel like this community has forgotten in the old days where people would do dumb stuff to have fun and not take the game this serious. I guess that time has went past us.

I'm simple trying to get you to see what your opponents were going through. As I said, no matter your intent, the end result is a team that was already extremely capable tricking their opponents into giving them an even easier time.
Now splice that in with back-to-back ridiculously difficult trials that are extremely stressful and require the killer to have a perfect build and play significantly better than their opponents just to do okay. Then you go against a full party that tricks you into wasting at least one perk slot because you didn't want to deal with the stress of flashlights.
I see where you're coming from and this wasn't something I came up with. I've experienced it a few times and wanted to try it out for fun. The killers' trials are not that difficult, in my opinion but for others', they might be. I enjoy both sides and I learn from both sides, as well. It's how I got so good as killer and survivor. Again, not everyone fell for it and we got plenty of mori's to show for the effort. Toxic gets thrown around way too much on the forums. You do a certain perk build, you're toxic. You camp the hook, you're toxic. If you don't do what the other side wants, you're toxic.
The game was just as winnable without or without that extra perk. This was just for fun for a few games. Again, more people are getting mad on here than the people who we faced and thought it was also funny. Next time, I take screenshots with names blurred so everyone can see that only a few got pissed. It's not like they weren't running Undying, NOED, Ruin and that 4th perk with a mori. Even our profiles are never private so the killer can see that we are friends.
It was just in good fun. The amount of stuff we face daily and bite our tongue is more than I can count but we do something for laughs and the forums go full frontal about it. I usually don't post about my games against killers nor when I play as killer because if I get stomped, I learn and move on. I don't ran on the forums about keys, hatch, NOED and a bunch of random stuff. Only things that I truly find unfair. Definitely doing screenshots next time when we do something stupid. Hell, we once did Dwight Locker roulette in the basement. Jump in each locker over and over until we hear the killers' heartbeat and hide. Whoever gets grabbed first, loses and we run out. That was pretty hilarious, too.
A few times, we did all red Dwights and Urban Evasioned around the map to each gen like a bunch of ducks in a trail. Some killers thought it was funny and followed behind us. Others kept whacking until someone got downed and we still continued to the gen. It's about having fun and changing up the game a bit. Even when I play killer, I'll choose Pig or Ghost Face and play Duck, Duck, Goose with survivors or snail races. If you can't do that and can only play hardcore, you'll burn yourself out and get tilted all the time, which leads to people ranting on the forums. I know I just wrote a book but honestly, people need to learn to just chill out and have fun once in a while. Not every game has to be a straight sweat-fest and hate.

I used to try equipping a broken key to see if I could get the killer to equip Franklin's or use a mori. Never worked, though, so I gave up. :(
(I only play solo and I'm on console, so I can't coordinate with the other survivors to do something like four broken keys.)
This was our first time trying it and it was pretty great at times. Other times, it had no effect and we just ended up getting mori's thrown at us for the trouble lol. Easy come, easy go.

I've always thought about that but never actually did it. It's really a good way to make a killer waste perk slots.
I ran into a few times already as Killer and finally decided to try it and wanted to see the reactions at end game chat. Most killer's were cool with it and some even thought it was pretty funny once we explained it. I posted it on here and it quickly went them vs. us. That wasn't the intent of it. Just thought it was really funny. We'll see a ton of NOED, Key and other threads tomorrow, though since that is always fun. Trying to mix it up a bit in the meantime.

My example was me, the Myers, having a lot of fun. I should have clarified that.
What you were doing, no matter how much you try to say otherwise, is a full, co-ordinated party tricking killers you definitely could have beaten easily anyway into wasting perk slots to give you an even easier time. That may not be your intention, but that is the end result.
We're all Rank 1. Mostly solo until night time where we play a few games together. If we were solo que and managed to do it, people would still lose it on here, I guess. We didn't go out of way to make the killers' life hell. We played normally. It was just for fun compared to all the crap we deal with on a daily basis. Just something to spice the games up. Hell, they brought a ton of mori's but we never once complained. It's the nature of the beast. Most of the people who play killer on here got more angry than the people that we played against.

The thread is literally to mock killers who fall for it and "make them lose their #########".
In what world trolling the killer and taking pleasure on it is not toxic? The DBD community is so pathetic.
We never once mocked anyone. The title represented what happened a few times doing it. No every killer went all nuts on us for it and we didn't "bully" anyone. We played the match as normal. Reversing that would have been different and we don't do that. I've seen people face camp someone to death with Bubba because they thought it was funny. THAT is toxic. It was almost impossible to get them safely. Take away flashlights to see how they would react isn't. Like a previous statement, switching to all Blendettes with Flashlights and choosing a map with low visibility with the intention of causing a killer to never find a survivor or work extra hard is not fun nor is it nice. Removing flashlight was just funny.

I had a team say that last night after burning a Dead Dawg offerring and quick switching to blendies with flashlights.
Fun is subjective. Most people don't find it fun to be manipulated into giving their opponents an easier time. And you're here bragging about how your full, clearly co-ordinated party is tricking mediocre killers into wasting perk slots.
That is a bit different. You're going out of your way to make it hard for the killer to see you and when they do, blind them to run away and hide once more. THAT is toxic. Take off your flashlights isn't and I do play both sides. I didn't come up with the idea, it was done to me a few times and wanted to try it out. Was I mad? No but I thought it was well done. That example is a group doing it to make a killers' life hell.

I generally don't care about flashlights or even SWF. I'm usually the type that's "play like you want". I just find last minute switches to be a bit underhanded when I don't dodge lobbies outright as a rule.
I feel you. Just wanted to spice the games up a bit. If we all switched to flashlights, I would be up in arms because then its obvious what is going on but doing the reverse is just pretty funny. Some killers get completely confused on what they just saw lol.
-
@MadLordJack said:
That still sounds like you're being pretty toxic. Sorry, but you're "tricking" someone into using perks that prevent them from getting bullied in order to have an easier time for yourself.
If it makes you feel any better, there were a ton of mori's. I remember a long time ago how using mori's, specially ebonies were considered toxic and unfair so it got nerfed into the ground. Toxic would literally be us bringing in keys/purple flashlights and doing our best to ruin the killers' day. It was just for fun.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
I mean...Maybe ######### killers. I'll take a 4 man lobby with 4 flashies any day. Easy hits. Lack of people on gens if they're truly trying to bully. It would never make me run franklins or lightborn
Good point and not everyone fell for it. Those who didn't thought it was pretty funny at end game when they almost switched and said, screw it lol. I always say, if you try to bully a killer, you'll usually lose the match since no gens get done. I stick by the motto.
-
@Rivyn said:
Jokes on you, I just dodge.
@FrenziedRoach said:
Hmm... so if a killer decides to show respect by not dodging a lobby outright when he sees something like that, you game the system with a last minute switch.
Sorry, but that would be a hard "Task Manager> End process: Dead by Daylight" from me. Enjoy being sent back to the Q man.
Co'mon man, you trying to make the survivor Q's longer?
It's just in good fun. We've only been dodged twice but some of the killers have been pretty cool about it. They assumed we were going to go super try hard but it was some really chill matches. Other's completely lost it, though lol. Saying I wasted their perk/perks but in general, we didn't go out of our way to torture the killer. Our Q-times have been really fast, though. Usually 10-15 seconds each time. Just thought it would be funny to watch and I wasn't disappointed lol. For reference, I've seen others' do this to me and I've fell for it once or twice and at the end, I thought it was really well done so I wanted to try it with my friends. Just something niche' to spice up the game.
Besides, with people complaining about NOED, SWFs, Keys and other things, it's nice to see some change in the forums for once. At least, to me, it was nice to see something different from the usual threads. Look at the bright side on the matter, you don't have to worry about those flashlights lol.

I like watching Survivors repeatedly fall for NOED :)
Bro, I was playing yesterday and this killer was running fast and I KNEW he had NOED so I was going to the exit gate and another survivor took a protection hit for me. EVERYONE left immediately lol. I went back with BT, got him out but I died in the process but it was funny to watch him run in front of me to save me, just to do a backflip and probably cussing me out XD
-
We don't use the flashlights, hence, the point of watching them get mad because they assume we are going to bully them. We just play normally still but we usually get all 4 but sometimes 3 lol. I play both sides but man, it was hilarious to watch people lose it lol. I'm like, we took them away? No flashlights, no problems. It was just funny to watch their reactions lol.
-
I still can't believe it has worked every game so far lmao.

@ukenicky said:
In solo queue most survivors will usually just opt to get 3 out and leave 1 behind to NOED.
If solo queue survivors don't outright cleanse all 5 totems in anticipation of NOED then they probably aren't going to risk trying to find it and break it after it has activated.
That's something coordinated SWF will do. Maybe around Rank 1 solo queue survivors will attempt it as well but it's simply too risky to try and find the totem and be altruistic I mean think about it in that situation you're probably going to hand the killer an easy 4k
I was about to say almost the same thing.

Make Myers 110% speed while in evil within 1 so you can either play the whole game as a stealth killer or level up.
When you stalk you get evil within 2 you become 115% speed and have a TR of 16 meters.
When you get evil Within 3 Myers movement speed is increased to 120% your TR is 32 meters and pallet breaking speed, stun speed, vault speed and pickup speed is reduced by a lot for 60 seconds.
When you stalk survivors there stalk juice will regenerate overtime so if you stalk someone all the way overtime they will regain stalk juice so you can stalk as much as you can
That’s how I would rework Myers
Reverse all of that but keep him at 115% speed during and that would be terrifying. Also, Stalk regenerates.

Yeah i guess that makes sense. I guess the issue is less BT more how the game is designed.
I do feel you on BT when endgame comes around though but changing BT would cause a massive shift in how the game is played but in a really unhealthy way. There would be no more mindgames. It would be 1 down and that survivor is pretty much dead now. Good luck in your games, Man!
-
@RenRen Honestly, no. Its a way to act like a team, even in the worse sense. Without that, it would just be a constant hook trade until someone was dead, specially if a killer decides to chill next to the hook. In theory, it would sound really nice but when it comes to how this game is played, it would cause the game even more anger since no one could safely unhook someone without being the next on the hook. No one unhooks, someone dies, everyone complains. I see your point on why it's annoying but at the same time, hook trading no matter what would just not be fun.
-
I just head straight to the middle for a gen. If I see the killer before I get there, I hide until they go past then hop on. By the time they come around, I got it to 50% or 100% if they find someone else that can stall them for a bit. It gets a dangerous, open field gen out the way early so you can spread gens out for later game so you don't 3 gen yourselves.
-
My only dislike of Trickster is the fact that after he does a health state with his knives, unlike most killers, there isn't any reprieve. He can still launch a ton of knives at you and if you're in the open and he's decent, you get downed. The mini sprint burst you get doesn't do anything if he still launches a ton of knives. Since the new time is like 15 seconds for decay to kick in and only takes 1 knife to reset the timer, it starts to grind you down a little. Otherwise, he's quite enjoyable to face and not as annoying as Deathslinger. I prefer him over Deathslinger ANY DAY.
Also, people complain no matter what you do as killer. I find it odd sometimes when they pull a lot of random crap out of their own cheeks to fling at you that didn't match what you did in the game, to justify their own anger at you, as killer.
-
There is always a way to win, @Pulsar . ALWAYS a way but not always the "fun" way against survivors. That is the problem with how the game rewards you depending on which side you're playing. You have to draw out the game a bit too long to win as killer but also get punished for killing too fast. You take too long and you might end up giving too much leverage for survivors to do the objective without any real threat. You do too fast and they get a ######### match and you still depip for the trouble. Slugging is necessary and sometimes even face camping a final hook to ensure an easier match is a necessary evil, even when frowned upon. That's the essence of this game.
-
It does take a lot of butt-clenching, though :D

I dont want to say everyone experieced or still experience this issue but for me its very often a thing and to prove that i made a short clip with the Problem, so you can see what i mean:
This Problem started to happen after the Lightning Improvements Patch not that long ago. There was a thread with some Players, which got that too but they said it got fixed whatsoever....Well not for me.
It only happens if im close to the finished gen and as you can see, the feame drops dissapear if i go away some meters.
If you know something about that problem or of you got the same Problem on your next gen Console, please let us know.
Thank you.
Just gonna be real with you, Chief. I don't see it. I have them on PC and I can't even see where I'm going because my game just freezes for like 2 seconds but that just seems like a slight slowdown but that's also part of console.

Maybe? I do see your point, but I can also see the other side. Are you dealing with survs using the same char and similar skins? Tunneling out one person might be harder. Were they able to get a successful save and Killers attention had to shift to other survs, making who has been hooked how many times harder to track? It's definitely something I wouldn't mind trying, but I have some reservations about it.
I see why you wouldn't want that but at the same time, a killer who wants to tunnel will chase the survivor down from the hook. You can tell the difference between a hurt/healthy survivor and they leave a blood trail while moaning. This is just a QOL change.
-
@bobateo said:
The assumption you're making is that Killers won't use this information to tunnel. Disclaimer: While I'm not a fan of tunneling, I don't think it should go away. I just don't think it should be made easier.
When you tunnel someone, you want to remove them from the game as quickly as possible to make the game easier and more achievable from the get-go. If you are going to tunnel someone, this will not change anything. The moment someone is hooked then unhooked, the killer will make a mad dash for the person. A hook counter will do nothing towards that. The moment that person is unhooked, you will go after him/her while they're injured. You will already want to tunnel and showing who has/hasn't been hooked won't change that.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Yes I agree. This would have zero effect on tunneling and help give a little more emblem control.
100% agree on that. Malicious and Devout both depends on juggling the survivor's and you get punished if someone gets removed too quickly. It would encourage players' to search for and attack other survivors who have not been hooked, specially if multiple survivors have the same outfit on.
-
@GodLikeTerror said:
Honestly I keep track of my hooks on each person. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea at all. It would make it a bit better at least, but I can live without it.
I try to do the same but when 2 people look exactly the same, it's hard to keep track near the end of the game. Hopefully, the devs might at least test it to see how people react to it.

From my experience most people who teabag are actually really bad at the game and extremely loud. I always tunnel or camp whoever did some teabagging and there isn't a single time they don't die extremely fast and proceed to cry a lot in the chat.
There is a reason none of the pro players out there teabag.
I never said the people who did it are great, but that they want to show they're better at the game than another. I've seen a few get slaughtered by doing it since they don't have enough time to throw pallets but I've also seen killers', including me, get rammed by some damn good survivors who teabag at each pallet. Teabagging also is great for the game because it creates 2 things. 1. Distraction from another survivor and 2. Keeps the killers' attention on you if you don't want them going towards a gen that might be nearby. It serves multiple purposes in this game but in Halo, it was always about dominance.

I understand that camping is a strategy but why should I lose my pips because some sad act thought he wants to look at my meg dangle on a hook if you're gonna say camping and tunnelling is a strategy at least give me points for staying in the match when I could just DC or kill myself atm camping and tunnelling are occurring a lot now DS has been nerfed so yea give me points for hanging around and you might not get so many complaints
They're making BT work against all killers, even stealth ones and not based up terror radius anymore. It'll just work automatically as long as the rescuer has BT. That is the best change to combat it.

This guy has no interest in hearing any opinion that is not his own.
I realized a bit late in the conversation lol.

Anyone else have anything to add?

Teabagging has been done for years in games to show that someone is better than another. It was very prominent in Halo 3. God, I love that game. It's the same here. Show's the person is better than another. Never changed.

I didn't know that was a thing until now. I never use the perk because I wasn't a big fan of it but jesus. They really should disable the perk if it's permanent.

"It just helps the killers' who don't do that and try to hook everyone evenly during the match."
RIGHT 🤣
I don't see why its so funny? Its a legitimate response from me. I don't face camp people to death unless the gens are done. Don't marginalize all killers. This is a good change that would benefit all killers so they learn to play better and if need, take someone out when it comes to a choice between 2 people. Like I've said a ton of times, if a killer wants to tunnel you, he WILL get you even if the person throws the entire match. This is just basic info that should already be present. BT is being changed to account for stealth killers and even killers who are NOT around the general area but killers' shouldn't get basic info on who is close to death and who have never been hooked all match? That doesn't seem fair nor balanced for a game about killing all 4 survivors.

You have a perk for that. Also, this isn't a them/us thread. I wanted to bring up something that I think should be basekit for everyone since it is still info. People bring up tunneling. Even without it, if someone wants you out of the game, they WILL do whatever they can to get you out of the game as fast as possible. This change won't change that since the first person on that hook will be tunneled either way, if the killer does want to tunnel. It just helps the killers' who don't do that and try to hook everyone evenly during the match.

Give me Shaggy's Cosmetics or I RIOT!

I would love for them to be permanent. They are really fun and only good once per match so not overly broken.

I chose Full Metal Alchemist. I would love to play as Edward. Would be sweet! Just REALLY love his design and seeing Lust, Wrath or even Gluttony would be sweet as hell. Money is on Lust, though. The things she could do with those fingers :D
