The way to fix him is simple just make it so after he ADS he can’t attack or shoot for 1.5 seconds.
I wouldn't be opposed to that. Good change in my opinion!

This doesn’t fix what is annoying about him at all.

That wouldn't change anything. Like Demogorgon, he gets free zoning by existing. Unlike Demogorgon, his projectile moves insanely quick and a good Slinger can hit you anywhere. Also stealth.
Making him reload at lockers wouldn't really change any of this.
Fair enough. I'm just trying to find a way to alleviate him on your ass with no real way to defend yourself. Just gets frustrating.

That’s because when deathslinger walks backwards he actually pull you faster therefor hindering your movement
All he needs is a slight cooldown to his ads
I remember in the PTB, you could move all the way left or right. Every update, it seems you move less and less when shot. It just becomes more and more frustrating. I'm sick of going against him and getting shot, miss, shot, miss then shoots and finally gets me. I barely get to another place before getting shot over a small wall and getting yanked away to get hit again with no real chance of getting him off of you. That isn't FUN. That is frustrating as #########.

Spirit already has 'passive phasing' in and out every few seconds while walking, so essentially her power would allow her to move moderately faster while survivors can see where she is heading, yet survivors would still be completely invisible to the spirit player. Don't forget that the phase walk only lasts five seconds and has a 15 second cooldown, after which the spirit is essentially a huntress without hatchets. There is still counterplay to spirit as well (walking, slow vaulting, iron will). But that's still fair because it's your opinion? The survivor entitlement is so obvious.
That doesn't work against Spirit. Also, you must be new if they think I'm a Survivor main XD I argue for both sides. Finally, she has speed add-ons to increase her movement speed to help. She can do the same. She can see survivors while she is visible just like survivors can see her when she's visible. I wouldn't mind that. It would be fairer for both sides and still can mindgame the other.
-
@DwightFairfield said:
I like it, although they could probably make the phasing work the same way it works when she moves, so its on the same timer
Yeah, that would be awesome. She moves really fast for a short period of time and then you have to guess if she's faking right or left while she is momentarily invisible before coming back into focus. That would be worthy of a mindgame and not completely unfair.
-
It would get you a chance to actually get away. You dodge him 4 times and like the Huntress, he needs to leave or try to hit you with slow speed. Also, you can't even seem to move left or right. Just barely move. How the hell am I supposed to wedge myself if I CANNOT move LEFT OR RIGHT except for 1 inch in both directions.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Problem is a lot of spirits use their power in short bursts. Also this doesn’t fix stridor
It can be tweaked more but I rather have that as base instead of an invisible killer that you have no way of telling where she is and just getting whacked without any real input on your part.

Why do people keep suggesting Claire? It would make more sence to be Jill no? Jill is in re1 and re3 and some others, I get the feeling Claire is only in re2
Jill will probably be a Legendary skin. Mr. X, Leon and Claire were in RE2 and that would make them pretty obvious to go together. Leon is a beast and Claire is well known as Chris Redfields' sister compared to Jill who was only in 2 games also. You can't think of RE without Chris and Leon. Trust me, there will DEFINITELY be a TON of RE Legendary skins for other' characters. Capcom will not let that go to waste.
-
I really like the idea of her phasing in and out as she's phase-shifting so you see glimpses of her every 2-3 seconds while phasing.
-
My money is on Mr. X, Claire Redfield AND Leon Kennedy. Then they'll have a ton of other character skins as Legendaries.
-
That caveman-like forehead makes me just dislike her face.

I understand, but Mr X just feels kinda plain to me. Like, i heard there was more than one Tyrant like Mr X, but Nemesis was unique.
Also, unless Mr X has some kind of speed rush or ranged attack, i don't think it'll be good to have another slow killer.
But i respect your thoughts
The other Tyrant had too long of an arm and Mr. X didn't have a range attack. The Super Tyrant and Nemesis are the ones with range attacks and had fast dodge skills. Mr. X would dash on you and insta-kill you with a head crush. He was slow, intimidating and could kill you quickly. He would be the most obvious choice. Any of the other tyrants would be just a downgrade of their normal selves and fans wouldn't take too kindly to Nemesis being beat by a simple pallet when a Rocket Launcher didn't seem to do much to him. Mr. X was always a posing threat no matter what you did but he was a prototype to Nemesis.
-
I'm going with Mr. X. Seems the easiest to balance. Nemesis was really fast, smart and could dodge bullets while able to using rocket launchers. Mr. X was a simple Tyrant that could move slowly at first but dash on you after awhile. He would be the most easiest to balance and impliment.

It will come in 2024 don’t worry
I won't wait that long. I'll just go back to playing non-stop Spirit as a Rank 1 for easy 4k's for the foreseeable future if not. I've only lost 2 times (2 people escape) out of over 100 matches. That was me being nice. If nothing will change, I'll become part of the Spirit cheerleading squad and demolish people until this forum throws a fit over Spirit like it did a month ago before I stopped.

Yes, you're supposed to have your volume turned up. and if you're like most equally unethical survivors, you doctor sounds to make it even more obvious. You also should know exactly how far she can go in her phase, and her recovery rate IF you can also know spacings and when the killer can and cannot lunge at you. A lot of these times when spirits are owning you with their "Op MiNdGaMeS" they don't even have their power and are standing still, to see if you fall for it because it is in recharge.
Spirit isn't easy to win as, every killer in the game, including spirit and old 5 blink nurse was harder to make work than survivor is in 99.9% of lobbies. Killer, spirit included is stronger than survivor and should win by force but it's obnoxiously hard to prove against good teams to the point where in top level DBD most people think that survivor is the stronger role! If you're actually meeting spirits that beat you, work on your own play until you start bullying them.
Survivor = minecraft and Killer = darksouls. Different level of challenge for sure. If a killer dunks on you, respect it, take the L and go next.
I'm good with this convo. Spirit is stupid easy. Just slap on Stridor and win some matches at Rank 1 like I did. Didn't take me more than 2 minutes to figure out how to butt ride someone with Stridor and know where they are. You can say what you like but she has no tells. You cannot beat her. You got LUCKY. That's it.

But the Spirit isn't flipping a coin.
They have footsteps. Scratch marks. Blood. Pain grunts. Breathing. At worst, they're rolling a d10 and lose the survivor on a 1.
The survivor has the game's permission to go 𝒻𝓊𝒸𝓀 themselves.
We've been saying this for months but most don't care since its a free win as Spirit.

Well obviously the shards are an extreme example but footsteps and environmental queues don't lie. You can also track / infer her in many tiles and situations , or at least as many as you need to be able to. A lot of mindgames, and this isn't just a spirit thing but everyone else as well, rely on survivors handshaking bad engagements, fighting on non optimal terms. If you were really doing everything right, it just becomes a matter of finding a smart place to go down and getting as much value as you can.
I think you dramatically underestimate how much room there is to "just play better" vs spirit. ;)
She doesn't move GRASS, she doesn't make any noise except that stupid hissing noise to tell you you're about to get downed, her footsteps can't even be heard on most tiles and on the ones that you can, you have to have your volume so high that your ears will bleed when she screams at you. SHE HAS NO TELLS. That's why NO ONE who actually plays survivor likes going against a Spirit who isn't braindead. I won over 80 games straight with her for over 2 weeks before I stopped playing her to prove a point on how stupid easy she is to win as. Spirit is the definition of 1-sided dice that is loaded from the start.

All killers are strong and you SHOULD know when spirit is phasing almost all of the time on live. Grass gives her away, her shards glow, You can keep track of her power and make educated decisions, if you take the degree of subtlety she has away already she's just scalped topknot oni who trades an instadown for starting with power.
None of that is true. It has been proven multiple times except for the shards only working on 1 outfit and only if standing directly in front of the Spirit. There is NO way to tell where she is. Even her footsteps are barely audible when phased. Been proven multiple times that none of that is true.
-
Seems much more fair than a free insta-down with a speed boost.
-
Give me my Battle Suit Jill Legendary skin and I'll be a happy boy :D

I want Battle Suit Jill from RE5 with the blonde hair. I wouldn't be opposed to her normal hair color but damn, she was a firecracker in RE5 :(

I've been wanting RE in this game forever now. I hope we can choose Jill (Battle Suit) as an option. LOVED HER in RE5.
-
Either Lady, X or (my favorite) Nemesis but Nemesis and his stupid rocket launcher, crackhead speed and his mega punch combo would be super hard to balance so my money is on X. Lady is just too knew and too little of info about her is released. She's a vampire but eh, that would stagger a Vampire Killer for later and X is just straight easier to implement. He can 1-shot you like the Oni with a dash attack but moves a bit slower than most killers. Give him 0 terror radius at all times :D NOW THAT would be TERRIFYING lol.
-
Just going to make this short and sweet. Trickster is fine now. He's decent enough to come at on top. You boost his speed any more and half the forum will be on fire in a day with pitchforks. Just because you can't ALWAYS win with a killer doesn't mean they aren't good. Reminds me of people on here who think Spirit is fine and doesn't need any tells. Makes me worried about balancing due to feedback and how people just ignore everything because they want something a certain way. I will never agree with most but I will always share my reasoning for why I dislike or like certain things.
-
I got it at Rank 4 today against 2 toolbox users with a BNP. Its definitely possible and for me personally, wasn't that hard.
-
Its only because you can't get across the map at the beginning to stop those really far gens with time constraints but after 2-3 gens, you can keep the survivors nearby. The only real way is to get killers some way to get across the map quickly, shorten the maps or have some starting game collapse. Otherwise, there is no real way to prevent that. It's not gen speed, but just impossible to pressure gens that are about 40 seconds away by walking.
-
I mean Legion are just people with masks XD
-
Dead Hard is fine. If you can't beat it, play survivor.

And I can get Adept Trapper what’s your point? A killer can still be weak but it can still be possible to get adept with them.
If you can adept with 3 perks at red ranks that don't help the killer because they don't match his power very well, he ISN'T weak.

Yeah but in both clips I just let the recoil take it path and they are very similar
With my PS4, I'm starting to have slight drift with my controller that goes a little to the left. Wasn't sure if maybe that was the same thing or not but yeah, his aiming is in a much better place now.

Wait, are you on console, by chance?
-
Its different from what it use to be. Before, it was almost impossible to keep it steady no matter what you did. You were literally fighting the recoil more than actually trying to aim at the survivor.

He's absolutely not lol.
I have no doubts that we are going to see another pass over him soon, and probably another if they keep taking small steps like this.
He is unquestionably the worst killer in the game right now even post buff.
I completely disagree. I've been saying Spirit is bullshit for months now and have even started playing as her for months and 4k'ing at Rank 1 with still gens left but everyone kept saying, Spirit is fine. Spirit is fine. No, she is not but everyone keeps saying Trickster is still terrible yet I don't have much problem with him. I play him like Huntress.

I just got my Adept at Rank 4 with him after the patch dropped on Hawkins with 1 BNP, 2 toolboxes and a key. He's fine.

I don't seem to have this problem.

I like that change. No one wants to be butt rode my a Demo. I was in arms about the rat liver as base but I didn't want it maxed. This seems like a fair trade-off. The drop off in speed isn't as bad but you can't also butt ride like old Leatherface. You have a super fast dash attack. Learn how to use it properly. Butt riding someone with it shouldn't be a thing, otherwise take the dash away and give him a small lunge.

So, i've been doin a lot more survivor lately (Mainly to play with my fiancé) and just had this in a game. Guy won, pretty decent demo, but then instead of GG immediately goes with this. Firstly, did SOME chases (Mainly just looped around a car etc till down, chase was maybe a minute or so... Guy tunneled the poor rank 5 off hook almost every single time.
So I keep seeing posts "Looping is so boring" "Looping takes no skills" etc etc. So what is it OTHER killers really want? You want chases but the only way to really chase is looping. You dont want "Hiding" (The only time there was any hiding was after 2 people were dead, me and the feng hid in the basement real quick to avoid him and heal to full.) Just curious. I have no problem with people hiding when i'm killer. People do it all the time. (I run whispers though so...yeah lol)
There really is no winning with this community it feels. (If people aint calling me a "Furry" Because I have a Poochyena picture as my profile picture on the forums it's something obscure) just take the GG and move on =w=
You'll get hate no matter which side you're from. I'm pretty indifferent in-game compared to the forums. I try to strive for the fun aspect without it being the top focus because at the end of the day, you WANT to WIN. I don't like ultra-immersed people who drag my game on when they're losing (doesn't apply to everyone because hiding is fine but when they do it because they know they can't win and do it to be #########, well, there you go), but I also don't like Killers' who play Spirit, Gunslinger and PH who either butt ride you to a free hit when you can't do anything (holding their power button until you throw the pallet for a free hit or stop and get a free m1 because then you're too far from the pallet to throw it down or Spirit because she has no tells and just gets free hits when you're injured) or a Spirit who nods at you like they're the best after they down you with their power as if they did a great job and need to feel superior with a broken killer using Stridor. It can go both ways.
With you, it seems like the person was just mad that the person couldn't find you as easily. I can't really tell if you just hid all game but due to your points, I doubt that was the case. Don't let it get to you and move on. If its the other side, again, move on. People play to win and this game brings out of the super competitiveness of people. Some have severe entitlement and needs to chill. Trust me, I've met people that need it. You did fine. Loops are pretty much mandatory in this game to survive. You hide in a bush while hurt without Iron Will and ANYONE will find you. You got this. You must have just got under his skin by outplaying him as survivor and that does happen. Let it roll and keep doing what you're doing.
-
Just give him a week for everyone to get used to the new him and watch everyone start to realize how more obnoxious he is to face, specially with the yellow shoe add-on. (Edit: Just played my first match since patch and got a 4k, 2 gen left Adept on ######### HAWKINS and they had a BNP, 2 toolboxes and a key. I used his shoe add-on and his other yellow that speeds up his initial throwing knives. That should help give you some info on how much fun he is to face now. I was a Rank 4.)

Survivors frequently say they have "no input" because not only drinking from Jund's punch, they're approaching Spirit like any other Killer and then crying when they get downed almost immediately.
You shouldn't be using your eyes, you should be using your ears and mind. Spirit is the literal definition of "mindgames", not the "double backs" and other little tricks done at loops.
Who let you on the forums? XD No one "approaches a Spirit" XD You know what, good bait. You almost pulled me in XD
-
Yeah, 50% debuff speed to EVERYTHING that STACKS for just falling asleep, seeing the survivors aura EVERYWHERE if a certain distance away and don't forget that he had add-ons to ALSO SLOW EVERYTHING DOWN. Yeah, no. Old Freddy was unbearable to anyone but those who played Killer. Old Freddy was new Spirit but even worse. (Edit: Just like they changed the New Freddy's add-ons from that bullshit slow-down add-ons that stacked with perks to make the game unbearable. At least now, he doesn't get a free aura reading still.)
-
Definitely still broken.
-
Trickster needs some of his buffs reverted now or just needs an overhaul. He just isn't fun to go against in the PTB. It's not even a match. He just butt-rides you now with his yellow shoes add-on and he seems to never miss you. I can't wait to go afk against this killer like I do with Spirit and Gunslinger. FeelsGoodMan. Even my friends who have went against him cannot stand him now. He's just as oppressive at the other 2. Hell, even PH is just as overbearing if he keeps his attack down and waits for you to throw the pallet or run. You know why? He gets a hit no matter what :D Fun design! Very interactive! /s Let's just keep adding range killers because everyone has a bundle of fun :D Don't worry about me, though. I'll just afk from now if the changes go live. Slowly edging away from this game again like I've done in the past a few times due to terrible design changes.
-
You all technically lost and the survivor just wants to win at that point. The chance of winning still is very slim and the chances of getting caught for a 4k is very high. I would do the same thing. THEY want to WIN. It's it only you left, you either die for the survivor or you wait for the survivor to die because the killer isn't going to let you both go. He's probably searching for one of you for the 4k or just waiting for the slugged to get the other guy. This is a team-based game but that goes out the window when only 1 of you has a clear chance of survival.

Is it, though? Because, one would think that it would be, but the response people have gotten in the past makes me wonder if BHVR is actually keeping a record of what people have in their accounts.
They'll take care of you. You shouldn't ask most people on this forum. They're just waiting for a reason to bash the devs for anything. I've lost shards last year but it wasn't the amount that you lost but they did refund me my 1200. You should be alright. Just file a ticket.
-
I've 4k'd with the "new" Freddy 4 games in a row on the PTB. He's far from unusable and his new add-on that increases groans plus Stridor is so obnoxious XD I love it lol. I use that with the other jump rope that makes foot steps louder and its amazing.
-
Spirit has no tells to tell you where she is when phasing making her impossible to face fairly.
Nurse can go through objects and ignores pretty much everything that the game teaches you.
There you go. That's why they're are the best. One you can't even tell where she is until she hits you and the other ignores everything.
