I think it could be lagswitching I just faced a lag switcher myself
I didn't even realize people could still lagswitch on dedicated servers. It would fit in with what I saw and how it played out, though. Thank you.

I mean if you are going to play the evil side you may as well go all out. You won’t catch me playing the trickster that is for sure.
I'm just scrolling down and immediately notice that sinister look on her face xD I was like, "Hooool UP!" XD

Yeah that bit sounds like a latency issue caused by the game trying to execute the action and animate it at the same time. Should have happened and kinda sucks. Also I have no clue how programming works so very loose speculation on my part. On a side note my falling down exhausted was mainly intended as a joke considering you can literally collapse from exhaustion in the real world.
I know what latency is but it started happening almost every use after this last update.

No but I've also got stuck in place for a second before DH activated and after that, I was done with DH until they fix it.

Cmon this has gotta be one of the most fun builds in the game. People say Starstruck Agitation nurse is OP but hag gets double the value. One shots invisible traps AND basement camping with agitation all at once.
What the ######### is with her face?!

I stopped using DH because I was always hit even though I did the animation and got exhausted on the ground :D

Now that is going to overwhelm me! I first started playing DBD during the last Winter Solstice event, back in 2018.
That theme alone was enough to send shivers down my spine. I miss 2.4.0 so damn much!
They had some really unique events in the past.

Yeah, it is hard to understand why they don't do that anymore. It can't be that difficult, and they know the community wants it.
By the way, up for some more nostalgia?
I also miss the Christmas lights everywhere, too.

You do. Fun is subjective, I just gave some examples that I thought were good events.
But at least none of them were recycled, unlike the upcoming one.
Yeah, it's a bit sad that they stopped doing all of these things. They already have it programmed. It wouldn't be hard to paste the code back in and redo the stuff.

I know having Victor on your back does NOT stop you from vaulting windows and dropping pallets, which still makes no sense to me, but the fact Victor can be on your back, and you can still unhook, was the last nail in the coffin, the Twins are the worst of the worst
Just spam him like everyone else. He's only got an 8 second respawn timer since the devs won't change it. Just spam him, hit someone while you wait for him to come back and start slugging with him. It's a super easy killer when you do.

I saw a Wraith doing the same thing but he was called the, "The Basement Guardian". Had NOED and waited in the basement XD

At a guess, people would like events to actually feel like events. My all time favorite is still the Summer BBQ event. Margarita gens and Grill hooks were really cool. Add in the extra bp from finishing the gens/using those hooks and it was alot of fun. In short they made events that were fun, not copy and paste.
I miss that event also! The sizzling sound was awesome lol.

that amount of time is still insane 1 second in a chase is important
His base chainsaw rev time is 2.5 seconds and he slows down while revving it. 1 second will help him greatly. People who actually played Billy will understand. Billy was my main and my favorite and now he's literally unusable at Rank 1. Also, with Tinkerer it was .5 seconds to chainsaw.
-
@akanadi said:
what you wanna do can backfire, and bringing it back as an add on is a horrible idea
remember insta saw it wasnt billy it was basically a different killer
The fastest you could make the chainsaw was 1 second with both add-ons plus Tinkerer. Yellow only reduced it by .5 or 1 second total.

I dont have any problem seeing Auras of Survivors on Generators. They are a little bit brighter than the Gen-Auras.
Maybe it is because of your graphic settings?
I checked my recordings on YouTube before and after patch, and the new auras are the exact same as the gens now. I play on Ultra settings with 120 FPS.
-
@drpynz said:
something has changed. Can't normally see survivors on gens and on coldwind you can barely see gens.
Same. I noticed it right after the Nemesis patch but I thought I was just imagining things. I checked my older footage and now the survivor's and hooks are literally the same aura now. It was never mentioned and it kind of pisses me off since they just released BBQ in the shrine.
If it's a bug, fine but if it was intentional and not even mentioned, that's a dirty move, BHVR. I usually have your back but this is wrong.

Nothing wrong with camping and tunneling reactively. They're strategies and they have uses. I'm :/ at killers who use them straight out of the gate because while it's totally legal to do, it ensures the whole game is very boring, and doing it that early on completely prevents at least one survivor from playing. Won't yell at them in chat, but will yell at them in my head. But somebody who's camping/tunneling to reclaim a game that they're losing? They're just playing smart. Why wouldn't they when they need pressure on multiple players at once, or need someone removed from the game ASAP?
That's also where I draw the line. I defend camping and tunneling but only near the end of the match. Doing it at the beginning isn't nice since you're ######### over that survivor who might have made a mistake then never gets a chance to play again. If 2 gens are left, everyone's ass is free real estate xD

Gen rushing is survivors doing their objective, killers only tunnel outside of competitive when they’re playing badly
Its the same. Tunneling someone to make them die faster is still the killers' objective. A killers only goal is to kill all 4 survivors. Chasing people off of gens is a secondary objective, as totems are secondary objectives for survivors.

horrible idea making it purple or iri wont do ######### only stop newer players for using that #########, im a billy main but personally i hate the idea
Just trying to keep people who don't want rev add-ons from freaking out. His yellow rev should be base kit and he would be fine. It would give him time to rev and cut off windows and loops if you react fast enough but a survivor could still make you miss.
-
Saw it on PC and really wanted it because it was so unique. The moment it came to ps4, I played it non-stop and even got my friends to play it.
-
I've been forced to tunnel out someone after 1 gen is left a few times against SWFs to have a chance at winning. Its the nature of the beast. Sometimes camping is also necessary if someone is close to dying and you see everyone trying to rescue.
You have only a certain amount of control over a match. If the map is awful and the rng is worse with the sounds of gens popping because of t/l walls into pallets, into more walls into more pallets, you have to do something.
I don't condone tunneling and camping at the beginning of the match but if I'm done to 2 gens, no one is dead and and I see people working on different gens, I'm going for my damn 2k.
-

If you are really that good you should consider streaming/youtube make money while being that good at the game
This post is coming from the guy who wanted killers to be 4.2 movement speed. Slower than the Huntress or reduce a killers' lunge to make survivor easier. I would take his post's with a small grain of salt.
-
@gendoss said:
Is the distance of an entire lunge longer than that of a Dead Hard? Sometimes I can get hit through an entire Dead Hard so I didn't know if it was actually longer of if it's just latency.
Yes. If a killer holds his lunge as soon as you DH at the same time, you'll get hit but mostly, its due to latency. The killer can only hit you with his lunge if he's already touching your butt before swinging. Otherwise, you'll be out of his range unless latency.

@Tyrane said:
I've played two games back to back where all the wraith did was cloak and uncloak during chases to get the speed boost hits on us. I ran him around killers shack and saw him de-cloak lung across the entire building from door to door and swing around to hit me. I think his lung when de-cloaking should be reduced by 25%, thats still far but not shutting down a loop befor you can even start running it far.
Wraiths' lunge is only half of the shack with both speed add-ons so what you said is false. I play against Wraith a lot. You can mindgame him at pallets and SB users can be hit since they have a slow start up to their actual speed. Just watch videos or play himself and you'll see his counters.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Honestly the one that makes him 4.4 could be fine if it just did a bit more. Reduced cooldown and further increased charge speed or something. The way it is now is useless. Crack addons are always fun but Could use less of a penalty imo. You are already punished by the movement speed being harder to control... He needs serious help.
The purple add-on is a double penalty. It reduces your speed to the Huntress but when you rev, you get another movement speed penalty since your base speed is also lower, it makes you move even slower when revving.
Almost to the Nurse's movement speed. If they just add it and remove the movement speed penalty and keep it purple while removing 1 second from the charge time, people would actually play him again. That add-on is so brutal that you can't even do window loops because you're as slow as the Huntress. It's really brutal.
That one add-on would make a difference in his kit. Or just remove the add-on entirely and take 1 second off of his base rev and he'll be alright. Then he could predict window vaults. As it is now, he just doesn't have the ability to do much, unless in the open.
People would stack rev add-ons plus tinkerer to make his rev almost instant. All of that stuff got removed. He should get the base yellow rev add-on by default.
-
Same with killer. I get stuck also, on random corners that shouldn't be touched by.
-
I've went against 4 SWFs groups as Billy just now. Sweaty, yes. Fun, YES. I barely got a 3k but it was fun trying to micromanage everything against a coordinated team. Teaches you how to play killer much better.
Edit: I'm talking back-to-back, checked friends list and all. Really good teams. Had my Billy looking stupid a few times lol.
-
DC'ing usually works, too! Always good to have a back-up plan!
-
@Alphakyn said:
The game is so unstable at the moment 2 or 3 games out of 10 DC, servers die, survivors kill themselves and we just have to deal with it, lose pips and get no blood points. You really need to sort out penalizing players who don't rage quit from those that get kicked out. The game is so prone to errors and dc's at the moment that it just isn't fair.
DC penalties are disabled at the moment. You do realize that, right?

I meant the camera, but that is the least important part of all the stuff I listed.
True but a list should be accurate. You can even hit someone after missing with it due to the fact that you can move around a little.
-
@Grimmy_Bluues said:
A 5-6m long, super skinny whip that is inconsistent with what it can go over, has restricted camera movement, locks you in place after activating, has a 2.5s cooldown on both missed and successful attacks, requires 3 hits to down someone, and makes you move at 95% movement speed while holding.
If a survivor just runs in a straight line after being Contaminated, it wastes a large amount of time already. If you're in the open trying to dodge, the lingering hitbox can be annoying, but why are you even trying to dodge in the open anyway? It's functionally identical to Demo's Shred, but with a smaller hitbox and 0.30s faster charge time.
It doesn't lock you in place while using it. You can still move a little.

Here's everything wrong with Clown right now
CLOWN:
- His gas now spawns in pockets, which will be destroyed after a Survivor touches it. Not sure if this is relevant but felt I'd mention it.
- Running from shack to a predetermined point was 4.90 seconds.
- Same test but with his Gas was 5.17 seconds
- Difference is .27 seconds
- Direct Impact does not slow down.
- Gas will not affect Survivors if they stand still, no scream or anything
- Gas will sometimes not blur vision
- Gas will give Survivors a crosshair on occasion
- Piss gas affected Survivors will not be slowed upon entering Purple gas.
- It can take time for Survivors to be affected by the gas, up to 1 second, it would seem.
- A loop around long-side shack from pallet to pallet was 8.53 seconds without gas and 9.02 with gas.
- Difference of .49 seconds.
- Clown's bottles at T-L's are hilariously inconsistent, you can vacuum through the gas.
The crosshairs were implemented on purpose to prevent motion sickness.

I haven't played that game but I did play Stellaris on the ps4 and they're having similar issues with the game slowing down the further the years go by in game.
But yeah, I think that the devs are trying, like nobody would ever want their game to be in such a state, it's ridiculous to think that they would.
It's just that people are underestimating how hard it is to optimize a game that's been changed for modern tech vs tech from nearly a decade ago. I can't imagine.
But he's hoping that things will get better for the people affected, soon.
I agree with you on that. My old 1050 could barely play this game at 35-40 FPS on low settings with auto-adjust active. It's amazing that consoles that old can run this game. It's a testament of how they do their patches over the years. Hell, even COD: Cold War struggles on PS4 xD

Delay the chapter. It was overheating people's systems.
They KNEW about the issues prior to release and shoved it out anyway.
Not before linking a cosmetic set or two, of course.
It's not as easy as remove this and this and this to make the game run better. The fans can't keep up with the graphics card that's being pushed to it's limit in old hardware. I had a 1050 Graphics Card and it struggled at 35-40 FPS at low settings with auto-adjust active. Consoles are even older than my old graphics card. It's shocking that it can even play this game at all.

No, that is not the case.
PS4 Pro's are having huge issues.
My One X, which is significantly more powerful than the Pro, had issues.
Quite frankly, DBD isn't a graphically intense game. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a very graphically intense game with a much bigger scale than DBD and runs so much better.
This is on DBD's Optimization team, who we've been assured have been hard at work since 2019.
I haven't heard of any complaints on those consoles and my friends still play with me through cross-play on them.

So true, that's just the unfortunate reality with console hardware. Eventually you'll just have to leave it behind.
I personally think that trying to get the game working on outdated consoles is holding the game back, I mean even minecraft had to cut corners for the sake of the future of their game.
Like sure, get the game working for as long as it can in the older consoles but there's only so much that can be done.
It's time for people to face the reality that they'll have to upgrade if they want to continue to enjoy the new things that this game will bring.
It's the nature of the beast. They're doing their best and trying to find solutions but when its 8 year old hardware plus the game was originally created for PC only, I think they're doing a helluva job. Have you played 7 Days To Die on console? That was also a game that was for PC only and got brought over and I'll tell you this. THAT game is almost unplayable XD

@Pulsar said:

They knew about these issues on Console and released the patch anyway
If they don't have a fix for something, they cannot release one. They tried to reduce the memory from Nemesis to help stabilize the game a bit better but it was not enough. That doesn't mean they aren't trying.
-
Get an afk killer and hope for a key. I've gotten that achievement on 3 different ones. Switch, PS4 and PC. PS4 was a sweatfest, Switch was an afk killer and PC, we had a really bad killer who gave up on the last gen and went afk.
-
The map is only broken on old consoles like PS4 and Xbox One. Not the PS4 Pro or the equivalent or the newer systems. They're updating the game for 8 year old hardware. It's not easy.

It feels like I actually have the capability to finish the rift while having a life.
I still won't buy it. It's just useless charms, reskins of other outfits and 1 outfit that I usually don't care about. If the charms gave a percentage of extra BPs per match or did something special, I might care but as it is now, it's just a waste of money for me.
-
If you're playing on the original PS4 or Xbox One, you're playing on 8 year old hardware. No matter what they do, there will always be problems. Even the pro versions aren't nearly as bad to play on. I own a PS4 and I switched to PC years ago for that exact reason. You can't expect miracles from hardware that old.

That's what I was thinking. She doesn't seem to be that reliant on accuracy. And the mindgames against her are only as effective as she lets them be. Not like Spirit though, because Nurse can actually see. That's why mindgames against her fail easier.
With her short swing, you could play a pallet like a mindgame against old Nurse since she couldn't lunge the pallet so she had to rely on accurate blinks. That mindgame is forever gone.
