Why is Wraith's de-cloaking lung so far?

I've played two games back to back where all the wraith did was cloak and uncloak during chases to get the speed boost hits on us. I ran him around killers shack and saw him de-cloak lung across the entire building from door to door and swing around to hit me. I think his lung when de-cloaking should be reduced by 25%, thats still far but not shutting down a loop befor you can even start running it far.

  • It is fine, you can still play around it. He has it because he needs to ambush survivors. Reduce it and he will struggle a lot more.

It was a bit over tuned. A wraith uncloaks and he barely misses a Sprint Burst survivor.

If a sprint burst survivor is hit by it, it is their fault. They should know they can't outrun it.

wait then how do they avoid the attack

if you hear his breathing you find were he is and leave

  • Its pretty simple, when the wraith is uncloaking he only moves at 1.6 m/s, or if my math is right only 40% of a survivors default run speed. During this time is when you are supposed to gain distance from him which is what the lunge is supposed to compensate for so its not impossible for Wraith to hit someone. Wraith's have to get very close to you as well to successfully hit out of stealth, so you should be able to see the shimmer of him as he moves if you are keeping your head on a swivel. (Within 20 meters of yourself of course.)

With that said, it sounds like the Wraith was playing correctly. Wraith's power is meant to diminish a survivors ability to just hold W against him. So after getting a hit he is supposed to cloak back up to recover distance quickly. So if you are just holding W against him, you will go down quickly. You need to find a loop which cannot help him with his constant cloaking and uncloaking. Jungle gyms in particular are effective structures. A Wraith that is constantly cloaking is not gaining bloodlust, as becoming stealthed immediately drops chase.

I think you just need more practice with the buffed Wraith as they've significantly shifted power from his addons into his base kit, which probably makes the transition feel jarring, but in the end its healthier for the game that killers are less dependent on their addons.

Yeah you can still see him cloaked up close and hear him. You should use sprint burst if you have it to properly position yourself around a loop or near a window to force him to uncloak in a way that does not allow him to get a hit on you.

Wraiths' lunge is only half of the shack with both speed add-ons so what you said is false. I play against Wraith a lot. You can mindgame him at pallets and SB users can be hit since they have a slow start up to their actual speed. Just watch videos or play himself and you'll see his counters.
