  • And a killer can hear boons while a survivor has to run a perk to find them fast. Play enough survivor then totem locations become easier to find. It's unending but having a hex automatically spawn and get instant regression while I have to run around and waste a perk slot looking for it then spend more time cleansing it just to make you lose the effect OR spend almost 38 seconds to bless it just for it to get taken out in 1.5 seconds?

Yeah, no. You want fair then make it FAIR. TIME is the true win mechanic in this game. You give too much to the killer, the chances of them winning skyrocket. Just like NOED was "fair" for years, Boons are much fairer. We have to find a totem then spend time to bless it and hope a killer who is walking past doesn't immediately snuff it.

  • Let killers set up their own hexes with a 10 second set up and you can break my boon totem after a 10 second break animation and it's gone for good. Fair is fair.

  • Overcome is the same distance as SB if you got hit then activated SB a second later. Might even be better than Overcome. It's funny to watch people go from DH OP to Boons OP to Overcome OP. Choose one and stick with it. You can't run DH and Overcome together. They're making an exhaustion perk that fits with each play style. There should be one for getting unhooked too. That would make an exhaustion perk for every type.

I think Scott proved that Sprint Burst gives you way less distance.

Overcome gives you an extra 8 seconds over SB...and you don't have to walk everywhere.

The problem with Scott's video is, you get a mini SB when hit. Otherwise, it would be the same distance if you 99'd, got hit then stopped for a split second and activated SB. Since it's hard to do that, he counted a hit and SB at the same time. One is 1 second longer, so, of course one will give more distance.

  • Gen speed is the most important part of a compet team. The longer you waste, the more time the killer has to win, so no.

  • I don't do this unless there is 1 gen left or endgame has started.

  • I don't think her power is supposed to go through ALL objects and proceed through the entire map until it either hits someone or goes out of bounds.

  • I can't even get into an event match without infinite loading happening -_-

  • Mainly due to the increased amount of survivors wanting to try out the new character and get their adepts. It'll even back out tomorrow.

  • Just do bones like they always tell us with NOED. Boons aren't nearly as strong as a 1-shot perk with no real way to stop it except doing all the totems or Devour Hope gives you free 1-shots/mori's for doing your objective. Boons reward you for doing totems instead of rushing gens. They're balanced and should stay the same. Don't say boons are overpowered since its only a We'll Make It but say NOED is fine and balanced.

If that were true, there would be no reason why people go into stage 2.

I get what you're saying. You learned it meant one thing and you base your understanding of what's going on around it. It's understandable and there's nothing wrong with that. But what I am saying is, not through fault or anything nefarious, that meaning has been lost over time, especially to newer players (and I don't mean a few weeks. I've been playing for a couple of years and I asked a few buddies who have been playing for longer before posting this forum). So that's why this informal poll was done, to get a feel for what the community thinks, because that's important to know during a game. If someone wants to make it a point to get the meaning clarified, that's great. Some people think waving should mean camping but that fake "attempting" should mean no one is getting me. That's fine, too. But until that happens, there is going to be miscommunication and I think it's good to be aware of it.

People go into Stage 2 because they wave their arms when the killer isn't nearby, lack of info (meaning a survivor might think another survivor is already going for them), some don't want to get off of gens, they just don't care, won't unhook just because or for other reasons. I will never go towards someone waving their arms unless they're about to hit struggle and I'll just trade with BT since I rather give them a fair chance but I won't immediately get off of my gen if I see their hands waving. I always try to get someone off the hook but I won't rush to my own death.

That doesn't seem to be the consensus based on these comments. So many people are now playing DBD, some of varying years, so the meaning has changed and not everyone knows what it means anymore. It's not an intentional thing. It's just a product of time and change. And since it's not something that gets talked about in streams, videos, or forums, people don't know any differently. But we all know that there are plenty of times when you go into stage 2 simply because no one is coming, so I get and agree with people trying to signal that by using their arms. Having a teammate dead on hook, especially at the beginning of the game, hurts the entire team. It's one less body to loop, do gens, or stumble upon the hex totem. And sometimes waving your arms is the only reason you get saved because people believe it means "come get me."

The initial use was and has always been the same. Just because someone down the line has chosen to make it different, doesn't mean the original isn't the true way. If someone is waving their arms, no one is going for them. Making obvious changes to something that is simple and easy to understand is detrimental and has caused many issues in the past 2 years to this game. Camped, wave your arms so no one continues to run towards you then stop. Waving your arms because YOU want to get unhooked without anyone knowing where the killer is, serves no purpose. People will come for you on the hook when you're halfway, someone else gets hit or they see the Entity Spikes move around. There is no reason to move your arms around just because you want someone to rescue you. Be patient and wait. You wave your arms, no one wants to run over there just to get hit on the way to the hook then traded by a camper when they can finish gens and get you before you die.

This system is good. It is ping where problem lies. I dont see many animation issues when all players have stable low ping

    This.

  • There is actually only 10 pallets on each map that has been reworked. You can test it for yourself by using Windows Of Opportunity or Zenshin Tactics perks. That means they only have 4-5 pallets left to use for the rest of the match so yes. That is good.

  • Waving your hands initially to show the killer is camping then you stop. If you see a survivor running towards you, you do it until the survivor stops and turns around. That is how it has always been and always will be. If you aren't being camped and you wave your hands, sucks to be you. There is no reason to wave your hands to get rescued. Everyone knows you're hooked. Waving your hands to get us to come faster isn't something you should do. It's a waste of time. Be patient and wait. If you know you're being insidious camped, give those hands a throw to warn us from a possible down.

What's up with it? I remember like a year or two ago this game was like 20gb and since then they've added a few maps, characters and costumes. The graphical reworks also came in but those replace the old maps right? So why is this game now 55gb? I'd like to have more than four games on my C: since it's my faster drive but this game is growing every update despite the updates just replacing content, today we got a 4gb update for bug fixes I just don't get it.

That's still considered small. COD: Cold War is over 300gb :)

    Hi,

In this new patch we had:

    • Implemented changes to prevent players modifying some in-game files (such as models, textures and images).

Maybe the new modding that's been going on, survivors as leatherface and whatever is not what BHVR wants, I understand that. But for years now, we've been able to use our custom perk images. Is so much fun and is so us. A lot of streamers use it as well, to match more their channels. Can this be the only think they don't take away from us?

I know it won't change much in the game. Specially for other people. But that's the point. It was there, no one had any problem, no one could even know. Was not a cheat or anything. I'm really used to using my own designs. I actually have 3 packs I designed. And I was about to create a 4th. But now I can't. Please... let us have this!

People were making it so they could see the killers very easily and traps like Hags' and Trappers objects. That's why.

  • I was teleported with the killer on the Macmillian map. I lost Trickster then boom, I got teleported on the catwalk with the killer, downing me while I was playing as Leon. I was super pissed that I dc'd.

There is a chance that the gen in the main hall spawns right or left, it works with the right one. I got the achievments after the update a few hours ago.

Yeah, I got it on the right side also. That just doesn't make sense to gatekeep it to one gen that is on the left side. Like both gens should count for the achievement since both are very hard to get done.

  • I seemed to have gotten it by doing the right gen instead of the left. Weird. Not sure if its a bug or not since only 1 gen in the middle counts but if not, feel free to delete this.

You shouldnt do totems. Do the gens, leave. Best a killer can do is a 2k and only 2 hooks. Depip.

Then the killer kills 2 and gets a 3rd while in chase with NOED because there is no time to do it all. Probably a 4th if he's/she's fast.

  • @Power_Guy said:

    Your '80 seconds' is:

    1. Solo (no teammates helping
    2. Without items or perks helping you in any way
    3. Not counting Great skillchecks

So it's small wonder Gens pop so fast; Survivors can clear them in 47 seconds with 2 people, or 38 if all 3 are working on a gen while a Survivor is chased.

Hell; by the time a Survivor is chased & hooked, 3 Survivors can pop 2 gens if they stick together.

Though they can just as easily pop 3 gens if they split up, since an 80 second gen (not counting items or skillchecks or perks) is STILL easily within the realm of 'done' in a Killer's first chase.

So you waste more time going to the hook to realize that the killer is face camping someone. Again, this is just proving my point. Don't have enough time to do totems and gens if someone is being camped.

  • You do realize that you can hit a survivor with 4 knives when they vault, right? Jesus.

If all you do is camp all game, you eliminate two survivors, and there are STILL 3 gens left, then the survivors were just bad to begin with, tbh, totems or not.

Gens take 80 seconds to do.

  • @Power_Guy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2326125#Comment_2326125

I'm sorry that Survivors can't do bones and will blame 'camping' for literally everything. :)

If the Killer 'face camps' then you are free to find Totems. Unlike your false narrative hinting that he can; he cannot 'face camp' AND protect his totem.

So which is it? Camping? Or defending NoED?

Oh, and if he has someone hooked near a lit NoED totem? Do gates & leave. You don't deserve the unhook just because you want it. He hooked them, he's camping. You don't get to save everyone just because you feel it's 'unfair' otherwise.

Also, and again, you omit this to push your 'NoED is OP' narrative, he can't defend NoED until NoED procs, because he had no idea which totem will become NoED.

Unless he picks one at random to defend...Which, AGAIN, means he's not 'face camping' or patrolling gens very well.

Funny how, if you don't skip over literally every other aspect of the game, the Killer is unable to be in 2 places at once and do the two things Survivors love to complain about, at the same time!

You spoke my point. Do gens and leave if he's camping. Oh, you didn't do totems, get NOED'd. Seems about right. Thank you for helping my point.

  • @Power_Guy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2326064#Comment_2326064

    You're being one-shot because of:

    1. You were too lazy to do bones
    2. The Killer was able to protect at least one unlit totem.

Neither of those is the 'for no reason' tripe or 'rewards bad play' or 'Failing to do your job' garbage Survivors push to pretend NoED is some invincible uber-perk that is impossible to counter and gets 5 billion kills, per match.

If a Killer killed you before you escaped; he succeeded at his job. It's not over just because all 5 gens pop.

This false idea that Killers 'failed' because gens popped needs to stop. it's creating this false idea that Killers lost just because the gates are powered, and that is what people are basing NoED on.

They did not fail if they killed you before you left, regardless of WHEN that killed happened!

Im sorry that a killer can face camp each person to death with NOED and always win because of time constraints for survivors :) You can't do everything if the killer face camps. You do not have enough time.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2325875#Comment_2325875

Being able to sprint across the map anytime you want or avoid going down several times a match without doing anything is not balanced at all.

See how easy this is? Its because exhaustion perks ARE THE BALANCE to noed. Together, you have balance. If you want to nerf noed then you need to nerf all exhaustion perks

Its not all match. Its once per 40 seconds of walking around. No one is using their exhaustion perks more than once per chase and 3 seconds vs 1 shot are 2 different things. NOED is a free down for not doing your objective and probably face camping. A survivor has limited time in a match, specially with Ruin in the game to do all totems plus all gens if someone is being camped.

If you want to reverse that experience, run no slowdown perks against SWFs and nothing that speeds up attack recovery and dont use Spirit or Nurse and tell me how it feels to get rushed without no real way to stop it. Its the same for survivors. You have limited time. You waste time looking for hidden totems while someone is camped and you lose a survivor with no gen progress. Now its a 3 vs 1.

All you have to do it repeat the camp and now its a 2 vs 1 with 3 gens left and now you're 1 gen left with 1 on the the hook and 1 person doing the last gen. This would be every match if the killer catches someone quickly and face camps while the survivors are worrying about NOED. Not enough time. Gens take 80 seconds. Totems take 15 seconds and you have to find them also. Hook timer is 2 minutes until death. See the issue here? If a killer just camps with NOED, you will always lose as a survivor.

That shouldn't be rewarded. Half of the time, survivor's don't even get Adrenaline because they're dead before it begins and NOED speed boost is permanent while exhaustion ones are 3 seconds with a long CD and have requirements for activation. NOED needs changed. I say 6 hooks to get NOED and if a survivor isn't rescued for a hook state, that hook state doesn't count towards NOED.

  • @Edgars_Raven said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2325786#Comment_2325786

The problem with that is noed only applies at the end of the match and only if the survivors didnt cleanse bones (which admittedly is very common). Unlike sprint burst, lithe, dead hard, head on, balanced landing and whatever other exhaustion perk im not thinking of. Thats the balance. You get to extend chase all game, i get to shirten chase during end game. Balance.

Being one shot for not doing anything all game is not balanced. Adrenaline has a requirement of doing all the gens to receive a reward. Hex: Devour Hope is the closest to NOED but requires you to get hooks plus stay far away for your 1-shots. NOED isn't balanced. You did nothing but lose. It's a perk from days when the game was severely unbalanced.

It either needs a requirement to activate or a cd per 1-shots. A killer should never get rewarded for chasing someone all game and not doing anything else because they know they got a 1-shot. Even Adrenaline and other perks have a CD as a downside except Adrenaline. It has a CD and a requirement. NOED should require at least 5 hooks to get its effect just like Adrenaline.

It was not that much last year, at least not 6-8 Cakes. But there were more Cakes, until they fixed them, then suddenly there were less Cakes per Bloodweb.

IMO there should be two Cakes per Default and the third Slot can either be a Cake or a Item. And for Killers, it is 3 Cakes per Default (because they dont get Items).

I dont care for the Items that much anyway, everytime I bring one, the Killer brings Franklins anyway.

I think I still have video of the event. It was 6-8 per web. I leveled up a ton of characters for it. It got nerfed because people bitched about not getting event items so it was brought down to 1-2.

  • @Edgars_Raven said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2319112#Comment_2319112

    1) NOED is a hex perk 😬

    2) its not nonsense. One extends the chase by 15 seconds the other reduces chase by 15 seconds. I dont need to start a new thread, these things are related like it or not

    3) They really arent, theyre two sides of the same coin, you ignoring that doesnt change it

You offered a balance suggestion, and i asked why you think its ok for noed to have to be earned but not your exhaustion perk. Nobidy put words in your mouth, its what you said.

Noed and exhaustion perks DO balance eachother out, thats literally my point. You get to extend chase by 15 secs, i get to reduce chase by 15 seconds. Thats called balance. Noed is also limited and situational (just like exhaustion perks). Its not just a 3 second speed up, its erasing a mistake and dropping a pallet which leads to another pallet or vault. It takes about 15 seconds to get a hit, dead hard extends that abput another 15 seconds

Survivirs have have perks and their brain to coubter noed (see how this keeps happening? I told you, theres nothing you can say about noed that cant be said about exhaustion perks).

You can keep saying noed and exhaustion arent relatable, doesnt change the fact that they absolutely are

They are similar :D Let's make NOED 1-shot but have to wait for 40-60 seconds to get the 1-shot again, like Adrenaline does. Balanced, as all things should be.

Also, more Cakes would mean more Items eventually.

Like, seriously, Cakes are the interesting stuff, not Toolboxes, Medkits or Flashlights. They are neat, but most people dont use them outside of events.

Correct. Last year was amazing. We got like 6-8 cakes per web. Now you get lucky to get 1 every 3-4 bloodwebs. Problem with items is, you might get 4 toolboxes instead.

  • More cakes, not items. Every anniversary, they just change the last year's anniversary items to a new name and that's it. There is no point in hoarding them since they only replace the name. The cakes are actually unique. I want more cakes.

  • Should be 3 per bloodweb at the minimum. Last year, we got 7-8 per bloodweb and everyone complained about not getting event items. This shouldn't be called an event.

  • @MJ_Out said:

Thats why I am generating bloodwebs just for killers right now, because it seems that they have a higher rate of cakes. I think too that the difference between surv and killer bloodwebs is to high.

Yeah! Anniversary is about throwing up 5 cakes for a big payout. No one gets barely any cakes and we get screwed. Its already a copy and paste. Let us have this one damn thing.

I understand the unhooker have I-frames, but I don't think the rescuer should. just feels bad hitting the rescuer and the game doesn't acknowledge it.

That would be a bug. It's probably due to the game registering the unhooked as a priority.

  • @PsychoTron said:

I know you can be interrupted by the killer and picked up during this animation. My question though is when the killer either does a basic attack or a special attack that does damage, it connects to the person unhooking, but it doesn't register as a hit.

I noticed this when I was spectating a match I was in. The rescuer unhooked the hooked victim, in the animation process, the nurse killer hit the rescuer with her basic attack and it connected, but after the hooked victim was unhooked, the rescuer didn't have any damage.

I may have noticed this in my killer games but thought nothing of it; but now that I was spectating it clear as day, are you invulnerable to a hit when you unhook a teammate?

It was a feature added in years ago. It's invulnerability frames for the unhooked UNTIL they can actually control their character. It was added because killers would hit a survivor who just got BT while being unhooked and then down them before they could actually run or do anything.

It's also meant to keep a player who's being unhooked without BT to have a chance at using DH as soon as they can move their character. When a person is being unhooked in old dbd, they could be downed before even touching the ground and the killer could effectively hit the unhooker also due to them being stuck in the unhook animation still. It was a needed change.

  • If I'm across the map, yes. If I'm near you, then no. As long as it's not forcing me to walk for 50 seconds to hit someone so the game will end sooner.

  • What if it was a secondary chaos game mode? Would that work?

We first are customers, before we are part of a community.

There's a difference between understanding the process of making said product AND caring for the process of making said product.

Let's talk about this from a customer point of view.

Yes. They're still people, too. They could just end this game and make another and lose everything on this one, if they wanted. I think that since they're trying to fix everything, they care enough to keep this game running on 8 year hardware is pretty significant.

I know a lot about coding but not necessarily game code and it's not easy. One wrong string and you're looking through millions of lines of mostly duplicy code, trying to solve it. You change one thing and it might break other sequences that relied on that string.

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 46
