Being an adult with 2 kids is easy, especially having to buy baby food and diapers, the easiest part is not being able to sleep and having to work 12 hours the next day.
I do have 2 kids. A 8 year old daughter and a 2 and half year old son. Still have time to stream. Wasn't a 15 hour straight stream.

When the perk is (completely) working as intended: killer uses Nemesis tentacle, survivor dead hards, tentacle breaks pallet. Or Victor pounches, survivor dead hards, victor goes clean through them.
If it happens during hit registration, the killer's client stops the power from breaking the pallet (it thinks the survivor was hit) or stops victor moving (it thinks victor is attached). When the server says that it wasn't, the killer's client doesn't say "oh, then this would have happened", it just leaves the power not working.
That's not working as intended, because it means that DH still behaves differently depending on when it's used relative to ping. That's not good.
AH, thank you for explaining it better. Yeah, I don't think that's intended at all. They'll fix it but they only do patches every month and a half so it'll have to wait until then. They might already have it fixed, but I have no clue.
(edit: spelling mistake)

If that were true, then the pallet should be destroyed. But it wasn't.
What? Also, it does use the missed attack animation if you land on a hit on a DH user.

You don't need to be a programmer to provide an argument as to why you feel those scenarios are mechanically fair in a normal gameplay scenario.
If the DH is used and NOT validated, these situations don't even occur and you get the normal phase through ability/counterplay/pallet break/etc.
No you don't. Ping plays a big factor on a server. I have a ton of videos on YouTube where my DH activated, I got downed immediately afterwards then I ended up exhausted on the ground because I'm in the US and the killer was from Brazil or something. Hits were handled by killers but now its server-sided. Yes, it sucks when your hit gets denied but this way you know it wasn't supposed to hit. If it went through them still, it would lead back to the same issue from before. The server would probably have to figure out when the i-frames wore off. Hell, I don't think the survivor sees the hit land. I'll have to test it but I think it just shows the attack miss on the survivors' side. When it was on the killers' side, I know for a fact that I performed a dead hard and got hit no matter what. Just remove the sound of the hit. I don't believe it uses the successful attack animation wipe, but the missed animation CD so even if it was "invisible", nothing would change but the sound. It's literally the same as before.

@Shroompy said:

Hit validation is still what the killer sees
The only time it isnt is when the survivor throws a pallet or dead hards, the server see's what action was done first and rejects the last one
This is true. Also, depending on where you are on the server, and the more ping you have, the higher chance it will affect you. That's why you should avoid lobbies where your ping is over 80.
-
@Raccoon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2650202#Comment_2650202
You have a lot of posts saying the same thing, but you have not made any compelling arguments in favor of it completely eating things like:
- Pig's Dash, wherein it would normally be able to hit the DH user after DH ends or flick to reposition if they DH through you
- Billy's Saw/Blight Dash, wherein you may still get a hit after DH (pending their timing) or be able to reposition
- Avoiding damage AND saving a pallet vs Tenatcale Whip/Rush/Saw
etc
I'm not a programmer so I cannot sit here and explain to you how that works. It's server-sided so on my screen, I avoided the hit. Whatever happens on the other side, could be fixed later. I won't explain something that I don't truly know. As long as the perk is working like it should, I have no complaints. I rarely get the scream after a hit that was negated but yes, it is annoying but I prefer that instead of seeing someone on the ground, exhausted who timed their DH correctly and got screwed. It's why DH has became anonymous with distance instead of avoiding an attack. I can definitely tell you that I was exhausted on the ground for months before this fix even when I timed it right and my ping was 50. Just like this, it'll take time to fix but it will be fixed.

Timing a hit to avoid it is not the same thing as power negation. See the post above yours that explains this in detail.
If the perk is activated during the hit registration, it's still working as intended, whether you like the way it is or not.

Bamboozle on Trickster...that's certainly going to surprise people. I'd have gone with Agitation or something, I really struggle to get people to the right hooks on time without it.
If you put enough pressure on them, they won't want to get near you lmao. I went from Ash to Iri 3 in 2 days. Double pipped every match with a Merciless each time. Bamboozle to block long loops and gets you into the chase faster, so you can pelt them with even more knives. Never let up. His strength is in quick chases. The faster you can down them, the sooner you can chase another. They try to heal rush, they get penalized. They don't heal, they get penalized.

I've been thinking about trying a build with Agitation+Scourge+Thanato. It's probably way more interesting in theory than it'll be in practice.
My build for Trickster is Scourge: Gift Of Pain, Thana, No Way Out and Bamboozle. It's disgustingly good. Don't tunnel or camp but also don't let them breathe and get free unhooks if they're in the open and running while I'm running away.

Scourge is such an interesting perk. If the benefits were a little better or a few more Scourged hooks spawned, I'd definitely run it more.
Yeah, for the amount that is does, there is a good chance that the hooks won't be able to be reached. Honestly, it should be a minimum of 6 hooks since the value isn't very high but I do love it. They never guess that healing causes them pain >:D
-
BBQ, No Way Out, Pop/Scourge Hooks Of Pain depending on the killer and a random perk, also depending on the killer. Gotta get them BPs with BBQ no matter who I play.

I really wish people would actually research before they just spout bullshit
When I started watching gameplay of this, I was always told by friends that they were an indie-dev team with a cool horror game idea that was trying to get off of the ground in 2016. That was almost 5 years ago. Sorry that I still assumed they were. Now, don't be rude. Not everyone knows or lives in Canada.

Sure.
But DH was balanced around these 'wonks'. It was still the most meta of the meta perks.
Now the 'wonks' all go against the killer. Whether you call it a fix or a 'fix' or a 'validatation issue', the net result is the same. It's a buff.
Its not a "buff". It's just doing its job finally like it should have done in the first place. That's like saying that Hex: Ruin doesn't work all the time but they finally fixed it to work when someone lets go and that is a buff XD Dead Hards' purpose is to time a hit so you can avoid it. Saying that it works correctly now is a buff is so delusional lmao.

Hi friends!
So I have an Xbox One S with over 4k hours, but as we all know, console performance can be a real pain in the booty so I'm hoping to get a better platform to play on.
Is the Xbox Series X worth getting? (Idk if there's any on stock)
- It's much cheaper than a PC
- My progress would be transferred
- Performance would be better than my current Xbox... I hope
Or is a PC the ultimate choice?
- Better performance than consoles
- PTB access
- Cross-progression has not been implemented yet :(
If anyone with an XSX can share their experience, I'd appreciate it. I play with friends who have both XSX's and PC's so I'm somewhat torn on my decision here.
PC. 100% but wait until the price gouging goes way down. For now, get the console.

I also think there needs to be more advertising on this game. I thought this game was dead until mid this year when an overwatch buddy was streaming this game. I only ever saw gameplay of the game in 2016, thought it looked cool, nothing more, heard about NOES, Leatherface and Saw and nothing else after that.
The For Honor charm pissed me off a bit since For Honor added an entire Trapper plus hooks into theirs.

A non-farmable way was the iridescent add-on that gives you corrupt whenever a generator is completed; and Tinkerer + Discordance. Pretty sure that's how I attained it without farming.
Or the scummy way: camp near a corrupted pool, or after a hook with an extended corrupt duration.
I was not doing all of that lol. I rather be nice, farm a bit then get the challenge done in 1 go but that's how I am. I prioritize challenge completions over normal games.

I would absolutely love that layer, and that's an experience that's easy to remove by adding a mute option - you can either play interactive or you can have the classic silent experience free of trash talk. The problem is that you also got people who'd blast earfuck noises, or make fun of other players based on their age or gender, or start saying really inappropriate #########. I've been watching some old Monto vids lately and there's one point where he runs into a Jason who spends 7 minutes raving about white genocide. BHVR can barely police text chat as it is (if you call the censors effective policing); I can't imagine what they'd do with voice.
That's why a mute button that can be activated quickly should be added and a report function for any slurs or racist remarks. Otherwise, it's a M-Rated game and cusswords should be allowed.

The thing about killer ones (outside of the practically impossible ones, IE the ######### corrupt purge one) is that they're almost entirely controlled by you. Like yes, a survivor has to run into your trap twice, but you can use iri stone and put it by shack window, and corral them into it.
The bloody survivor ones rely on other people doing things for you to do them, its infuriating.
Took me a month to finish that challenge only. Screw that challenge.
-
If the person was being screwed by their teammates, a survivor looped me really well and showed skill, did their best to save their teammates even if they knew they were dead and finally, if I like the character. I'm looking at you, Pop Pop (Bill).

Sounds like a small slice of hell. That, and I play killer so I don't have to deal with voice comms I'm in no position to respond to. Doing game callouts in the small hours of the morning with too-thin walls? Nah.
Not mainly for call-outs. Just to be a part of the action as if you're there. You know why people love to watch streamers? They love commentary because it puts you in the situation. That's why Friday was so popular. You could beg Jason not to kill you and offer an item to appease him or tell him he can eat a bag of ***** until he catches you then kills you lol. Made the simple game so much more fun and interactive since these are real people talking to you. Every match was unique.

im tired of seeing this response, just because we “main killer” doesn’t mean we don’t play survivor. The only time I feel dominated is when I feel like I’m playing with bots and I do 75% of the gems.
I play about 65% killer and 20% SWFs and 15% solo. I've been playing for 5 years with over 4k hours and I started on consoles release and moved to PC. I remember when perks were in a line and Thana was permanent when someone died xD

The number of clicky-clicky teabaggers does not inspire hope, here.

The killer what? There are a handful that you may not get and may cause you to lose the game.
Killer has to find a object that leaves an obvious purple trail. Survivor has to get downed on purpose, hope to get rescued then not tunneled, then hope that same person gets hooked then get that unhook before someone else while also hoping the killer isn't face camping THEN hope they don't get grabbed since it has to be safe THEN YOU DO THIS 9 MORE TIMES. You only get 2 per match if you're lucky.

The last thing I want is to have to find a button to turn off listening to total strangers trash talk me or rage at not-camping. Sounds like a punishment.
Not for me. I would love hearing a survivor screaming when a Myers scares them half to death or hearing a killer tell me they have a special place in the basement for my cheeks. Hell, hear a killer singing Baby Shark to a face camped survivor xD

Both sides have their throw challenges, and it’s tiring.
The killer one is guaranteed and doesn't cause you to lose the game.
-
Green filtered maps with high mobility killers does it to me.
-
Just give proximity chat with an option to mute them. Also, add an option for the killer to talk to the survivors and vice-versa with a mute button too. That would make games so much more engaging. Think of the trash talk xD I loved that about Friday The 13th.

I haven't played Freddy in a long time so I have no idea how well people play against him these days, and if the movement speed nerf had a drastic effect on him or not. But basically you just snare one side of a loop to force them to go the other way, cut them off, place a snare on the other side, then do that one final time after chasing them enough for them to have run into the first snare. Then just teleport to a gen w/PGTW once you've downed them.
Problem is with how efficient survivor movement has gotten (and again, the nerf) I don't know how effective it is anymore. For all I know you can just hold W against him like anyone else now.
E: Speaking of Freddy I'm with GeneralV on this one. I miss OG Freddy.
I use to do that but his slowdown on placing them makes that not viable anymore. He gets W'd hard. I see people spamming pools but that doesn't seem like a valid playstyle. He's the only killer that I hate playing as now. Just doesn't fit my playstyle. Also, OG pill bottle Freddy was best Freddy xD
-
I use to say killers needed buffs all the time but over the years, it's been getting more and more balanced so I rarely say anything anymore. The only exception is Billy. I'll always say he needs his Rev add-ons back until the day this game dies. Overheat is nothing. The chainsaw just takes too long to stop a loop. Why play him when you can play Bubba who has wide swings, fast movement, long distance and much, much harder to dodge? Billy needs his rev add-ons back. At least take a second off and you'd see him again. Otherwise, you'll probably never see him more than once or twice a year. He just gets looped to #########.
-
@Bloodshade The only killer that I can truly say that I suck at is Freddy. His blood pools are just worthless to me. If you play Freddy, how do you play him? Not talking about the dream pallets, only the snares that he uses. I'm good with Clown but hate Freddy xD

Blessing a hex is not worth the time investment in this situation. But blessing a dull would more likely result in a net positive as you would also get your recovery to 90 while they do it and then get a quick heal after pick up (assuming coh or possibly even new boon perk in The near future). Getting a hex totem cleansed is also pretty decent in this situation as it will relieve the team of whatever the hex was while you recovered on the ground.
Picking up would alert thr killer that there are possibly 2 people over in the area anyways. So if the bones be glowing they must be going before the pick up :)
Don't forget that the killer doesn't know where the Boon is active at so you get more time to finish a full heal on the downed teammate before the killer shows up.

Couldn't the 20 minute be heavily abused by killers If the killers just guards generators and waits the full 20 minutes? I personally think it should be 30 minutes and a visual timer should be on the screen showing the amount of time left until the 30 minutes are up.
I only have 2 complaints. Make the 15 second idle 2 seconds instead of 1 for them chunky boys (Clown and Bubba) and End Game Timer shouldn't count down near the end since the killer might be near, Blood Warden is still a thing and trying to block for someone while trying to leave would be impossible.

I don't really think the PH comparison is fair here. PH has a hard limitation on his camera movement and his attack is highly telegraphed. Nemesis has a near-unreactable attack (that can also be dragged) with no camera restriction. I think it's more in line with Demo, except a little harder to land point blank. It is learnable though, and throwing on another slowdown/delay/initiation (Lethal Pursuer) perk in lieu of STBFL (which can fail depending on the circumstances) is where the risk of missing out in the open is negated. Which again...it's learnable, even on controller.
It's not a bad perk on him and I'm glad it works for you but I feel like there're better options for someone who knows the tentacle inside and out... GachiBass
Demo has a much farther lunge and much wider attack than Nemesis but fair enough. I play each killer a certain way with specific perks. Maps can also make or break your win rate. Maps with lots of long pallets and high walls, Nemesis will suffer. Lots of pallets but low walls and Nemesis will do well since he can whip over them. Very good on the snow map.

I don't know, not having motion sickness myself makes it very hard to understand. How are you able to play the game at all, with all the spinning, moonwalking and quick turns all the time.
Seeing a bunch of slightly different shades of the same dark green color while using a fast killer is terrible. It's like spinning in a circle for a minute then staring at a dark green screen with slightly darker objects. It makes you nauseous.
