  • The maps in this game aren't random. There are map pools that switch every few hours. I know because sometimes I'll get the same map multiple times in a row and sometimes if I'm watching a streamer and decide to play the game soon after there's a high chance I'll see some of the maps they played. With over 30 maps in the game, those situations wouldn't be possible if there was always an even ch

  • I decided to do the Huntress challenge where you have to 3k with her teachables (I refuse to unlock Beast of Prey and Territorial Imperative as teachables to pollute my bloodwebs). The issue is that I cannot play Huntress to save my life. I'm so unbelievable bad. SO i brought Iridescent Head and Infantry Belt because I thought they'd be crazy OP. Turns out they're not and I barely managed to hi

  • This is the build you need to win high level games in DBD. Iron Will (most consistent perk in the game. pretty much always helpful) Healing Perk (Bond, Blood Pact, Aftercare, Self-Care, Inner Strength etc.) Exhaustion perk (anything works as long as you can use it to last longer in chases) Obsession Perk (protects against auto-loss tunnel games with no Obsession)

  • Hot Take: Ruin wasn’t nerfed it’s better now. Before the Survivors would all go on a totem hunt and cleanse it early in the match because it was so powerful that it rarely stayed in play long enough to get more value than a perk like Corrupt Intervention. Good luck with your Ruin lasting longer than two minutes at red ranks. Now, sometimes Survivors think they can just power through Ruin and

  • The counterplay to Deathslinger, Pyramid Head and Spirit relies on the player making mistakes. It has very little to do with the Survivor's actual skill. At maximum skill, the counterplay to these Killers basically goes away. As a Red Rank Survivor, I can immediately tell if I'm going against a Rank 1 Deathslinger or like a Rank 6, because if you're able to counterplay them. It's a sign they're

  • Survivors leave scratch marks while walking. Sounds a little crazy, but based on all the Killer perks it would have to compete with it would probably still be a niche perk.

  • There's a distinct background for the new chapter in the PTB menu. Plus, Felix and The Blight's backstories both mention and island called Dyer Island and describe it in detail. My guess is that the Devs rushed the PTB a bit for early bug testing. McLean even said the new Killer has a massive overhaul and our current PTB is about a week behind. We don't have the official trailer for the chapt

  • I think that the majority of the Killerbase is on PC and adding consoles into the mix created more Survivors that needed games. I haven't played against a single full red rank team since the update... I also haven't had a game where the Survivors finish more than two generators. Destroying Survivors because the matchmaking is now desperate for Killers and lowers its standards for my opposition

  • I've noticed since the MMR change that the variety of Killers I get has drastically changed. Before it was a super mixed bag, now its much more consistent. My theory is that the MMR system essentially creates a tier list in the matchmaking. Killers are inherently stronger than others so the playerbases of stronger Killers and weaker Killers are boxed into specific MMRs. So your MMR level means

  • High Skill Players- People generally heal you and if they don't games go so fast it doesn't matter that much. My fourth perk slot is usually Resilience. Low Skill Players- They're generally scared of everything including healing and games go much slower. My fourth perk slot is usually Inner Strength. Because I never know what I'm gonna get anymore (sometimes a full red rank team, sometimes ra

  • I have over 1000 hours in this game and I just ran into the most annoying interaction in the entire game. Having to snap out of tier 3 madness prevents mending. So, if you've got BT or Soul Guard, Doctor can chase you for a enough time to make the mending timer go down a bit... and then leave you with an inevitable down.

  • You know something that allows Survivors to drop pallets quicker. The animation lock for dropping pallets is becoming a problem against the newer Killers like Pyramid Head and Deathslinger. Seems logical to introduce some counterplay. The perk would be something like this: Drop and Roll The Pallet Dropping Animation is reduced by 10/15/20% "Stop, drop and lets roll the hell out of here!"

  • I think it would be interesting if a Killer had a rewind mechanic to allow them to instantly appear where they were 3 seconds previously. The Killer could make really interesting plays and end up cutting off some strong loops with it. It's a mindgame on both sides. Because while looping you'd have to remember where the Killer was 3 seconds ago as well as pay attention to where they are currentl

  • DBD has a lot of different maps and I, personally, feel that there's enough variety for the Devs to prioritize other things than a brand new map every chapter. Graphic updates, balancing the Survivor/Killer lopsidedness and maybe expanding on the existing realms is the direction I'd like to see with maps for a while. What's everyone else think?

  • MMR attempts to predict the outcome of a match, which means it will try to avoid matches that seem fixed one way or the other. There's one core fact that isn't taken into account however: There are much more top tier Survivors than Killers. So in order to create "balanced" matches with the Killer playerbase that naturally exists the MMR system will have to make Rainbow Rank matches to create

  • If you realize that the Killer is avoiding you and you're the Obsession, PLAY AROUND IT. If you try to immerse or play safe, the Killer will shred the team to pieces with 8 stacks. Even if you're a low MMR Blendette with Urban Evasion, please pay attention to this. Killers can massively profit if they're running STBFL and the Obsession isn't in their face and lets them avoid hitting them. I alm

  • If the gens are going quickly and/or the Killer got a bad map, don't blame them or be mad about tunneling/camping. Sometimes the only way to turn a game around is by securing a kill. Just try to look at it from the Killer's perspective. Sometimes they're doing it out of necessity not simply to be mean or unfun or whatever.

  • The female Legion has really loud breathing that makes her sound similar to many of the Survivors running heavy breathing noises. So it's more difficult to track people especially to get the first hit in Frenzy where you don't have scratches. Basically, just play male Legion. Much quieter and distinct breathing means you don't have any issues mixing up Survivor sounds with yourself. It's an adv

  • I just played a game with ghost face on a Coldwind map and got completely gen rushed. Like oh my god there was nothing I could do absolutely zero counterplay. First three gens within the first minute. And a Survivor has the audacity to tell me I have no map pressure. TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE BUILDS. No map pressure my butt. I had eight stacks of STBFL and was literally downing people as fast as phy

  • All the newer original characters have long scroll-down backstories in their in-game Survivor descriptions. However, Jake, Claudette, Meg, Dwight, Nea and Ace don't even have enough to fill up the screen. Do you think we'd ever get some updated character descriptions that give us a little bit more of a feel for their personalities? More detailed fleshed out accounts of the events that lead up

  • I just played a game with Open Handed against Knockout. I'm almost positive the +8 meters of aura reading didn't go through. Survivors were extremely difficult to find even at very close ranges. Look into it. I'm pretty sure its a bug. Aura reading perks are meant to weaken Knockout.

  • Pig's Bear Trap Timer and Franklins Item Destruction Timer pair amazing together. The Survivors have to choose between back tracking to find their items or getting their helmets off. If they waste time finding their item, the bear trap becomes much more deadly. If they waste time on their bear trap, the item will be gone forever. Win, win. Make your choice. Gives Miss Piggy a lot more passive p

  • The Farm maps, Swamp maps, Forest Maps and Asylum especially run into the issue of few and far between hooks. Maybe there should be an update where larger maps spawn more hooks on average and they're centrally located. I just feel like as Killer having Survivors escape your grasp simply because there are no hooks nearby should never happen.

  • For original characters, it's clear to me that the more played Survivors get more cosmetics. The Devs obviously have data on the rates of Survivors in matches. It's the reason why Adam and Jeff have tiny little drawers of cosmetics. And Yui and Zarina are already working towards walk-in closets full. The more popular a Survivor is, the more cosmetics they get. It makes sense from a business per

  • There's a Pig build where the rules of DBD completely take a 180 and the entire game turns into a different thing entirely. Knockout, Third Seal, Thrill of the Hunt and Franklins. With Last Will and Face Masks. Slugging becomes more effective and time consuming for Survivors than hooking. People will sometimes go 2+ minutes on the floor without getting up. Because the other Survivors can't se

  • Adding the basic attack requirement to a perk automatically makes it awful or inconsistent for at least half the cast of Killers. What's the point of even designing perks if they're not meant to be widely used and are incredibly niche? Use the Dev time for a better idea instead.

  • Running Iron Will, Resilience, Blood Pact and Dead Hard. I'm at the point where I've realized that healing doesn't even matter very much unless its convenient. Being injured in this game is perfectly fine and its not worth going out of your way to heal if you have the right perks. If I run into another survivor, my blood pact is nearby or someone has a perk like We'll Make It, of course I'll ta

  • Perks like Resilience, Sprint Burst, Spine Chill, Iron Will, Leader, Bond and Kindred almost always get value every game and are decently strong. Perks like Adrenaline, Decisive, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, For the People, BT and Mettle can go entire matches without use, but in matches where they can into play the payoff can be insane. Which matters more to you? Massive playmaking potential or c

  • The key only opens hatch long enough for one Survivor to escape and then shuts again. An early hatch escape DOES NOT trigger endgame collapse for any remaining Survivors. Hatch spawn requirements are unchanged. Chests spawned per match are doubled from 3 to 6. So Survivors have more opportunities to farm items, but keys aren't crazy overpowered. Also, slightly benefits Killers because chests a

  • The majority of mid-low rank Survivors rely on stealth and perks like Sprint Burst, Decisive, Urban Evasion, Spine Chill and/or Self-Care. They DO NOT want the Killer to chase them and are willing to waste tons of their time avoiding them. Its just true. I can usually tell within the first two minutes what ranks people are just based on their playstyle. Survivors that aren't objective focused wit

  • Being able to play the game comfortably while injured. Sometimes finding healing or using a self-heal perk takes more time than its worth when you could be making important progress on generators. Knowing that fact and being able to make optimal decisions while injured is probably the most important Survivor skill.

  • Do you unlock event cosmetics if you don't have the character unlocked when they're available? I logged in every day during the anniversary, but didn't have Deathslinger unlocked. If I decide the get Deathslinger at some point will have have the exclusive Anniversary outfit or not?

  • In Low Ranks, Killers immediately tunneling Survivors off hook is a legitimate issue that Decisive can help fix. At high ranks though, Borrowed Time is common and very few Killers hard camp. At Rank 10, Decisive punishes campers and protects against bad teammates going for unsafe saves. It usually gets picked up by the Killer in the first maybe 15-20 seconds of the timer. At Rank 1, Decisive

  • I'm a Rank 1 Killer, but I'm definitely not comfortable with every Killer. It shocks me that many streamers can play everyone. Here's my list of Killers I can play and how well I can play them. Expert (usually a 4k)- Freddy, Pig, Legion, Ghost Face Average (sometimes a 4k, usually a ruthless)- Wraith, Hag, Clown, Spirit, Plague, Doctor Subpar (probably brutal killer)- Trapper, Bubba,

  • Ghost Face always loses his Night Shroud when he hits Survivors, which is exactly when Dark Devotion kicks in. So if you run the perk on him you can seriously mindgame people who are expecting you to be out of stealth especially if they can sometimes even hear the terror radius in the distance. Its seriously spooky and gets lots of free hits and gen grabs. Dark Devotion on a stealth Killer so

  • Lets be honest. There are not many top tier Killers. We're in high demand for games and always get short queue times in Red Ranks. The game also naturally incentivizes Killers with more bloodpoints. So if you wanna have short queues and farm bloodpoints like nobody's businesses. Come to the dark side and start practicing. Survivors are begging to be 4k'd and they need our help! Join the Red Ran

  • It frustrates me that even after map reworks and constant quality of life changes there are still maps that have vaults that have to be looped three times to entity block them. You either have to commit to a long ass chase or leave the Survivor just because they know the map well. It's really dumb. Suffocation Pit, Grim Pantry and Badham Preschool have some of the most egregious off the top of

  • Generally, the area around a hook has been cleared of pallets or is just naturally unsafe because a Survivor was downed there. So its relatively easy to get free hits. Even top tier Survivors can't survive very long in dead zones. However, if a Killer gets hit with Decisive Strike, the five second stun can easily give a good Survivor a head start to make it to safe tiles and areas with unused p

  • Add a penalty for being the Obsession to the description of the Decisive Strike. Something like a 5% decrease to all actions if you are the Obsession, so there’s some associated drawback with the perk.

  • I've been playing some Vommy Mommy games and wow Survivors hate her. More DCs than I've ever gotten before playing as Killer. I can just tell from the way some Survivors play around me that they're tilted. Passive Aggressive Urban Evasion Neas that point at you and Claudettes that drop their medkits at your feet. I almost feel bad sometimes... but not that bad. Meh wins a win

  • During my first game on the PTB, I got hit with an M1 and magically my Cheryl got bloody clothing that stayed like that the rest of the match even when I was healed. • I just had a Rank 1 game where a SWF had a full team of For The People and Soul Guard. It's kind of nasty tbh. Especially since they were running flashlights. If you slug for even a second, they'll pick them up in your face and bodyblock with Soul Guard. But if you insta-pickup then you're probably gonna get hit with a flashlight. This is only an issue at like the top 0.1% of Red Ranks, but goo

  • I started on Survivor and I have more fun playing that role. But, Killer is such a free farm. Especially now with all the cakes being thrown around. Even in a rough game with BBQ, I still rake in over 100k bloodpoints. In amazing games, I’ve hit over 200k actually. Most of my playtime on Killer is spent earning bloodpoints that go into prestiging and leveling my Survivors. I don’t even like K
