See, be more like Dwight and bring me cake and I promise I won't murder you!
...pinky swear!

(Also Samination rules and someone who hasn't watched them should watch them)

They removed your ability to switch when they put in MMR (since it would be individually ranking each killer, they didn't want you to load with a Rnak 20 Killer A and then switch to Rank 1 Killer B in the lobby).
But MMR was such an absolute disaster that they removed MMR but didn't remove that roadblock in the process

305 on my doc, 113 on legion, 81 on PH, 55 on plague, 74 on Nemesis, 83 on Huntress, And the event still has 6 days left. Basically, I'm pretty much set for cakes for the next year.
13 days
They extended it a week :D
-
It was only for a limited time (some have said it was just the first week and others have said it's up to 10,000 shards so I'm not certain which specific setup is correct but ultimately it is limited is the bottom line).

Prestige. You wonβt.
That's for basically all of my killers. I have so much stuff with all of them that prestiging one would almost certainly cost me two digits worth of BPS and Cakes.
I've been prestiging survivors for funsy and I got really close with Leatherface since he's one of my main bois (until the event got him a bunch of new cakes) but I'm not all that sad about it.

@Trickstaaaaa said:
If anything killer only users should be sad. Since it can take up to 10 minutes to find a match. Why... Since well you photo clearly shows why. If survivors were able to unlock more cakes then people would not play killer as much during the events.
I've personally found it has had a slight uptick with the usual times (normally at night I can get a game instantly; right now it's taking me about 30 seconds).
-
I just disconnected a game before it loaded (back to your lobby Survivors who aren't bringing any cake for Myers!)
My Cake is still there in my inventory waiting for me to eat it. So...IDK :D
EDIT: Guess not! It's gone. That was weird but no more cake for The Shape I guess :(
Until I open a new bloodweb of course. Cakes for killers!!!! NOM NOM NOM!!!!!!
-
It's absolutely an outdated mechanic that should have never existed in the first place (can something be outdated that was never uh...in-dated to begin with?). There is not one killer in this game who has their powers just go away because you used it too much.
In fact to me, everyone talks about how the Myers needs a redesign or whatnot but all I think he needs is his powers to not just GTFO when you've accidentally stalked the same person more than 20 F'ing seconds...

You 100% lose cake. I seent it π
Strange, you shouldn't because other items don't do that.
Oopsy
-
To my knowledge, you don't lose anything as long as it disconnects during loading. It might disappear from your character's equipment but the item/offering itself just went back into your pile, not burned.
-
You guys get teammates who aren't horrendous sometimes?
-
I mean this in the nicest possible way even though it is not nice at all:
We've been hearing this since 2019. Until there is actually a patch that comes out and you have time to actually get to play it to verify it actually works, I don't think I'd break out the confetti and trumpets just yet...
-
I keep trying to but I keep dying :,(
-
That is somewhat great news but I'm not sure how great that'll be for last gen peeps unless they actually fix some of these performance issues. It being broken for an extra week doesn't do them a whole lot of good...
-
Y'all can play however you want but I'll never understand why more of you don't just bring your gun to the game. Oh no, Demo Dog, what am I going to do!?!?! Oh wait, I know!!!
Ratatatatatatatata
More like Demo DEAD!!!!
(Also put me in the "Wat?" Camp)
-
It's an ######### thing to do but to my knowledge, as long as you aren't picking them up and dropping them again (basically not allowing them to ever actually bleed out for like...twenty minutes), it's not reportable
-
I get them because it gives me a new objective in the game and an excuse to upgrade survivors I don't use often.
I have no intention of wearing any
-
You don't need to do either. Find the Crown thing, become the Twilight Vampire you know you've always dreamed of, and finish the match
The end! You now have your crown unlocked
-
When did it start?
I haven't seen anything of that nature yet at least on my Series X but I haven't played much yesterday or today.
-
Hiding the terror radius doesn't really do you all that much good. Unless you KNOW where a survivor is, they're going to hear your terror radius before you start crouching because she is really slow when crouching. So you're generally not going to try to crouch everywhere to catch people by surprise since you go so slow (and this is assuming it's not negated by Spine Chill, warning them you're coming anyway).
The traps rarely kill anyone unless they are new (and therefore aren't all that sure how to deal with them) or you just tunnel the hell out of the poor bastard trying to get their crown off.
Like a lot of the lower level tier killers, you can certainly get kills with her but there are plenty of other killers who do those things but better. If you killed someone with her, you almost certainly would have killed them with someone else but faster.
-
Tunneling is a strategy (I APOLOGIZE FOR NOTHING!!!!)
-
I sometimes give the hatch and sometimes don't. Generally I have four "rules" for it
- Don't BM me. You T-Bag or clickity click at me, you forfeit your right to have Nice Killer Tippy
- You do something that I think "deserves" it. Usually this is someone who is really good at looping and whatnot, especially if their running is what got the other gens done when I finally catch them if I was being stubborn and just kept chasing them when I should have dropped it by that point
- What I call "The Lottery". Basically if I take you down and you didn't do anything special, if I hear the hatch on the way to the hook, I will drop you off at it. Luck of the draw.
- The most important of all; do I feel like it :D Basically am I in a good mood or a sour mood cause if I'm in a sour mood, you're probably not getting the hatch no matter what

I think the overall issue of survivor BP gain + grind should be addressed more directly rather than giving people a BP bonus. The issues of being able to delete someone from a trial in 2 minutes (or having a trial finish in 4), and having people dc should be addressed in seperate ways
This
BP as a survivor can be absolutely bonkers in how little you get and really should just be addressed on it's own. Trying to tweak the game in this kind of way would just open things up to be abused and is merely treating a symptom rather than the disease.
-
I have yet to see a suggestion for a way to eliminate camping and tunneling that wouldn't be easily abused by survivors gaming the system and/or punish innocent killers not camping/tunneling but they get hit by whatever penalty anyway.
I'm all ears if anyone can suggest anything...

Like many things with this event, it's a "chicken or the egg" situation. Some survivors might have tried to simmer down their speeds but got slaughtered by a killer trying to murder everyone ASAP. So the survivors gen rush to try to get through as fast as possible when they run into a killer trying to go easy and just get everyone a bunch of points. The killer gets irked that he keeps getting gen rushed so he starts to try to murder everyone ASAP instead, which causes a group of survivors trying to simmer down their speeds to gen rush the next game...
Rinse and Repeat
-
Awwww, that's cute that you think DBD players won't find something else to lash out at you about for daring to kill them
-
It's exactly what I've been doing this entire event (unless you T-Bag me, then you get no mercy or if you were one of the poor bastards where I just lost track of my hook count).
I'm not sure I'll keep doing it. I had intended to do this the entire event but these matches are taking FOREVER as I seem to absolutely steam roll teams I'm doing this to (like...my slugging instead of kill hook is happening with 3+ gens left). I haven't decided yet what I'll do but as of right now at least, this is what I do. Everyone gets that sexy sexy BP and I'm doing a small part to help survivors since there do seem to be a lot of malicious jerk killers (and yes, malicious jerk survivors too) running around going out of their way to ruin the event.
-
I didn't get any so presumably there are none today :(
I have a ton of shards, I should buy something cute with them...
-
I've was accused once of hacking because the survivor wasn't able to escape out the gates.
I had Blood Warden on
:D

I kind of wonder how much the difference is the console v PC peeps. As a console user, it can be hard enough to get ONE damn knife into someone, let alone eight (or six once the buff is in). At least with Huntress I only need to connect once (and the ax has the same throw line every time, unlike Trickster) so her aim being a little rough doesn't hurt nearly as bad.
So right now, he's still gonna be pretty damn useless for me and still at the spot he's currently at; if I somehow kill survivors, it was in SPITE of Trickster, not because of him.
-
I also play solo survivor (red rank) and enjoy it just fine.
That being said, I also do go into every game assuming I will die since my team is such a huge factor that is completely out of my control. I run Bond and kindred specifically to do my best to be a good teammate (so three of us aren't swarming the hook, I can find injured teammates, I can lead the killer away from the last gen being worked, etc) but I know not everyone will be altruistic enough and/or good enough to do that. I am also not willing to just hide for hatch when there are just two of us so I often get killed because I'd rather get what points I can from this gen and let the killer just pull me off for my death.
If you're used to SWF, I could see why solo queue would feel so damn brutal. But I only play solo so I'm just kind of used to it
-
I do kind of feel it is a "chicken or egg" thing (Note; except in very specific situations, I do not camp so I'm assuming here).
I imagine the killers who complain about gen rushing camp because they had a few games where they were actually gen rushed. So they started to camp. But now that they're camping, other Survivors have nothing to do but gens so they rush through them. Proving to the camper that the survivors just gen rush and therefore they should camp to try to put pressure on the survivors who are too altruistic.
Kind of like the event here, people experience a few games of sadness and they start treating ALL their games with the assumption of sadness. Which just makes more sad games and now everyone is sad.
-
I sincerely doubt it cause if they did, presumably it would be fixed by now. Last gen players are ready to burn the game to the ground in anger (and I assume a bunch are abandoning the game, meaning there goes potential sales) so if they had the ability to fix it, they would have.
I am not a game scientist so I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than just changing a few lines but the game has been a technical flustercuck for a good year now. At this point, this isn't some mild bump in the road, the damn bridge is out and everything is on fire as zombies try to climb in through the window.

No I get where you're coming from, that's why I'm taking it upon myself to play killer right now and taking it super easy. Not stressing about hooks or win conditions makes the game way more fun when you're playing peekaboo as Ghostface with baby survivors and butt dancing at the exit gates.
Same, everybody I have killed has either T-Bagged me (BM disqualifies you from Nice Tippy) or I did it on accident cause I lost track of the hook states and one poor bastard who got caught by me as Myers when I had Tombstone on since I needed a kill by my hand for a Daily (they did have BT and were trying to bodyblock with it so while I don't quite call that toxic, I do call that unsporting and therefore I fudged my criteria there so I didn't have to keep trying to do this when I'm trying not to murder someone)...
It's unfortunate that there are a lot of players on both sides who seem to be going out of their way to make the game miserable for people during the event (note; this is people maliciously trying to make the game miserable I'm calling out, not people just playing normal as I am perfectly fine with a killer who kills or a survivor who tries to survive) so I'm going to at least try to be a nice killer/survivor throughout the event.
-
I doubt it since BHVR has said in the past they consider both tactics to be valid tactics. Is it unsporting and kind of jerkish? Yeah, a little. But it's within the rules of the game and very unlikely to be changed as I've never seen an actual fix someone has given that wouldn't also be able to be abused by survivors and/or punish innocent killers.
-
None of y'all are wearing masks and I heard David coughing and throwing up after that Priestess was wandering by.
Just not worth the risk. Keep your germs to yourself!!!
-
Presumably right now a LOT of people who might not normally play killer are playing killer as it is much easier to get cakes and earn BP for said cakes during a match as a killer than you are as a survivor
-
You want them to have the event extended forever?
Ha haaaaa, BHVR incompetence joke!

The spawn rate is so atrocious and it eats up all the bp I do get just trying to get through a single web.

Had no issues last year using my cakes, this year they are just so damned sparse.
I 50/50 (and with the Fourth of July weekend giving me plenty of time to play during the day when killer queues are nutter butters and survivor queues are instant, it's probably more 80/20 survivor side right now) so I am well aware of the pain that is getting the damn cakes for the survivor side.
In those instances though, I use BPS or something of that nature. If you've got nothing, you've got nothing but my post was more to people who were flat out refusing to use their cakes rather than survivors who literally have nothing they can offer up.

CAKE!!!!!
-
Cake is for me?
..π³
ποΈποΈ
-
I have just started backing out of games if I'm the killer and I'm the only one throwing a cake out.
I get that cakes don't spawn as often for survivors but do you know what I do if I'm a survivor but didn't get a cake? Use BPS.
I have tweaked all my builds to get rid of my "killing" perks (like Blood Warden) as I'm taking my foot off the gas in this event and trying to get everyone some wonderful points but if you're not going to do your part and make it worth my while, I can kill 20 seconds waiting for a new game and you can play Lobby Simulator again. I'll find (at least) one other survivor in another match quickly enough who is using a cake for everyone.
It sucks that there are killers who are specifically going out of their way to ruin the event (not just playing normal, which I feel is absolutely understandable, but maliciously attempting to ruin the event for people) but unfortunately that's kind of the gamble you have to take in a multiplayer game. You can hold onto your cakes but I feel like you're running the same exact risk later (as we hear plenty of stories about people using BPS/Cakes outside of events and killers being jerks about it). Ultimately it is your call but you'll lose out on a "nice" killer during the event if no one is using their damn cakes.
-
Oopsy
-
ONI SMAAASH!!!!
I have a few killers I like a lot but gun to my head, choose one, it's Oni. His power is super fun and at least for me when I'm survivor, he's fun to play against.
-
Mmmmmm, I love killing a jerk survivor during Cake Time.
I've let every single survivor go (sometimes on purpose, sometimes because they slam gens and for some reason not taking advantage of my purposefully slow play)... except that last one.
Why you think antagonizing the killer with 5 cakes on the board is a good idea I'll never know but I guess you'll have to have your slice brought down to Hell for you :D
-
I don't know if my definition is far stricter than others or if survivors just have...tunnel vision *sunglasses* because I'm constantly accused of both as a killer.
Tunneling: Strictly and specifically going after one person to take them out of a match ASAP. If others survivors attempt to get in the way, the killer flat out ignores them or hits them and continues to hunt their one victim exclusively. Me finding you first because 30 seconds after you were unhooked I find you working on the gen injured next to your hook or me smacking you down because your teammates unhooked you before I can even turn the F around is not me tunneling you survivor.
Camping: Staying in the area with the hooked person and refusing to leave no matter what (Note; a similar thing is face camping but that's staying within meters of the hooked survivor). Leaving the area to kick a gen and coming back because I found no one else so where else should I go is not camping survivors.
Hope that helps! Now stop calling me a tunneler and/or camper just because you guys don't know how to play!
