There clearly can be no discussion while people are this pissed. The devs failing to bring all the QoL they said they would to survivors has really made survivor players like a hornet nest stinging everyone. This happens literally every time the game has an update that leans in one direction. This community literally never changes and instead of directing their unhappiness at the devs and trying to get it fixed in a meaningful way they just get pissed at everyone. For all the horrible back and forth knee jerk changes the devs do at this point I don't think any change would make this playerbase fully happy besides a full on rework of the spagheti codebase. It's sad cause it was looking so good after the roadmap actual discussions and goodwill in the community. But now I am reminded of how miserable it was to be in the community during the gen kick meta literally just angry people everywhere. So I am just not going to bother hope you guys sort this out.

i dont have the update downloaded since im on xbox but from streams ive been watching along with posts on twitter, a lot of filler got massively nerfed. here’s a picture i found on twitter.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/X5BMNASPGPA9/img-5481.jpeg
once i get the update, ill go in customs to get more screenshots. if you have the update downloaded, play on the new autohaven and take a look at the new fillers on there- specifically the truck and dumpster loops.
That loop honestly doesn’t look that bad. You can run it from the generator side, and after two loops you can usually force a break or get a stun to make it over to the rock pallet. Yeah, you can get bloodlusted on it, but that’s true for a lot of pallets.
So what exactly am I missing here? Why am I getting downvoted? The generator placement actually makes it a decent loop. Sure, it’s bad against Myers, Pig, Nurse, Pinhead, and a good Wesker, but against most killers it’s pretty solid filler. It’s not low enough for ranged killers to snipe you like Huntress, Deathslinger, Xenomorph, and it’s not small enough to be mindgamed easily. So what’s the issue I’m not seeing? There are plenty of genuinely awful new fillers now in the game, but this one really isn’t that bad.
Yeah, it’s weaker compared to the super chainable fillers they added before, but why is the response just downvotes with nobody bothering to even say why they think I'm wrong? Are we really at the point where every filler needs to be a strong, chainable loop?
-
Surely this is ragebait, because wesker has been fine for ages. Did you literally have one bad match vs wesker and go on the forums lmao. Or are you mad about Krasue being nerfed I can't tell.
-
I play for fun, but if people sweat, I obviously try harder. I usually go 2 death hooks before killing if they are zooming through gens if they aren't then I go for 4 death hooks. If someone acts cute though, I fold instantly, it's actually just over. And ofc most of the time the entire team notices me accepting a cute survivor and now all the sudden I have 4 teammates and just 2 hook everyone. I go easy on new players or just ppl who are unlucky and try to be funny if they have personality, but if they give up early due to the killer I am playing I despise them cause they are cooking their teammates. Which when I play I can't stand.
These are the perks of all time the dbd stats says I love, if that helps tell, ofc shadowborn and a lot of these are outdated (rip sloppy and shadowborn). These days I usually run nowhere to hide, brutal, pop, and bamboozle if I am an m1. Don't typically run more than 1-2 slowdown due to ptsd from gen kick meta as I played a lot of survivor then and still have old buffed eruption ptsd. -

as a console player who was plagued with not being able to rebind my layout for years I don't think its fair not to allow killers to rebind theirs to allow for better control. Because lets be real the whole oh its a console player because they dropped pallet instead of healing cause they can't change the layout thing was obnoxious.
Was rebinding not a thing at first? I didn't start playing DbD until 2018, but first thing I did (as a console player, PS4 specifically) is rebind my keys to avoid dropping pallets when trying to heal. I have "Pick Up Item / Interactions" as R1 so I can still spin my camera while healing and repairing gens, and I have "Actions" as the square button, so I hit square to drop pallets or vault.
I am unsure, as its been so long, I thought I remembered the one button for a lot of actions being a bigger issue on console than for PC players because they had more options. I guess I must have just gotten it confused with the sensitivity update, I am pretty sure that was 2017. Feels so long ago.
-
I know people will be not happy with this idea, but as a console player who was plagued with not being able to rebind my layout for years I don't think its fair not to allow killers to rebind theirs to allow for better control. Because lets be real the whole oh its a console player because they dropped pallet instead of healing cause they can't change the layout thing was obnoxious.
The fact that certain techs rely on the killers not being able to decide prioritization is kind of terrible as nice as it is to get one of these techs. I just don't really think it adds value besides bullying newer players so yes this should be done for QoL purposes. -
They just fixed a bug on mindbreaker and its bugged again already. In a sad way it's kind of funny it went from not working properly for killers and now its working unintended for survivors lmfao, I am not sure how this even happens.
-
I don't really understand why they are leaving it for so long, just radio silence on their end. Though I cope that maybe if they are taking a while to polish things with her that it will turn out better than the myers rework, but I fear that is just pure copium.
-
Honestly the only killer build i would find sweaty is 4 slowdowns, but I guess thats cause I survived the genkick meta. I don't really think impossible skillcheck doctor has ever really been a sweaty build and its not like doctor is that strong of a killer regardless.
-
The other stuff about the bugs is reasonable, but ever since the event dropped the bonus has been on killer in my region, which is usually how I gauge which mode is most fun for which role and after playing a few survivor ones minus a few tunneling killers and bad randoms it's actually quite fun. I do wish there were more abilities though and the void is a bit lame, but I don't really think this event favors killers lol at least from my pov as the killer ability thing is a bit boring and not really that good.
-
They should honestly just remove downvotes altogether they do nothing but encourage people to ragebait. Ever since the new update, it feels like the forums have been flooded with people who completely ignore what’s actually being said and just argue for the sake of it.
You also see a ton of players blaming random people for dev decisions, like anyone here personally approved the Tenacity or Hope nerfs. It’s ridiculous. I don’t even know how you’re supposed to have a real conversation when half the replies are just bad faith arguments.
-
You should see how insane groaning storehouse gets now, I was playing as Wesker and there was no joke like 5 of these new really safe unmindgamable pallets in a row that chained to shack as well as the main building. Made me wish I had a pallet eating build honestly.

Then they could've kept the Elusive status. Since that was explicitly for combatting body blocking.
Weren't people still bodyblocking with it in the PTB lol. I doubt the new status effect was purely to combat bodyblocking and aggressively using perks, because if it was it completely failed to do so.

Not "strong", strongest. By nearly any reasonable tier list. For her entire existence. I notice you didn't suggest any changes to her at all. The 1k+ winstreaks must continue because that's the "healthy gameplay" we want here at DBD. Don't worry survivors, if you keep improving, you might just be the 1 in 1000 team that beats me at a pvp game because I chose the most overpowered killer! Now watch my 1001st steamroll and don't complain or you're entitled. 🤣
Oh and all that prediction and LOS gameplay goes out the window as soon as the killer runs any of the multitude of increasingly strong aura perks.
Oh, I did suggest changes, you just apparently can’t read past anything that doesn’t fit your narrative. Funny how people always bring up the strongest Nurse players alive, but then turn around and cry about average solo queue survivors. Like, pick a lane. Are we balancing around the top 0.1% or the average player actually queuing up every night? Because right now, you’re trying to have it both ways.
You keep dismissing anything that doesn’t hand you a personal advantage, which makes it pretty clear this isn’t a discussion it’s just you venting and pretending it’s game design. You repeat the same talking points like they’re gospel while ignoring context, nuance, or, you know… the idea that balance doesn’t mean “delete what I lose to.”
And I love how the second anyone disagrees, the downvotes start pouring in like that somehow proves a point. That’s the entire problem with these forums no one wants to engage, they just circlejerk themselves into thinking they’re objectively right. Though I guess that's how its always been, you can't really expect anything meaningful from people who always want things their way and never consider other players.
You talk about “healthy gameplay” like you’re the prophet of balance, but the second someone mentions keeping a killer’s identity intact, you melt down. Maybe instead of suggesting changes that completely kill a killer you could think about how to adjust things so the killer isn’t gutted beyond recognition. But no easier to hit delete and pat yourself on the back for saving the game.
So yeah, go ahead, Mr. God of Balancing. Maybe after you’re done fixing the game by erasing every killer you personally dislike, we can all enjoy your utopian 4v1 where every killer is just an M1 with a red stain. Sounds thrilling.

Yes I want to take away a singular overperforming killer power that warps gameplay across every match it appears in. She, unlike freddy, myers, huntress, or any other low-mid tier killer you're going to strawman, ignores every base game mechanic survivors have to express skill and extend chases. She hamstrings map and perk design for the entire game. If you have a better idea of how to balance her, I'll wait. But no I won't be crying over the poor Nurse players that can't queue up to wipe the floor with their opponents in 90%+ of their matches because they spent a weekend learning her muscle memory.
That’s the issue right there, you’re equating “strong” with “broken” and “reworking” with “deleting.” You’re not talking about balancing anymore. You are talking about erasing a killer because she doesn’t fit your idea of fair.
You claim she “warps gameplay,” but that logic falls apart when you realize every high skill killer or perk in this game has warped the meta at one point and the solution has never been to gut their identity, it’s been to refine the systems around them. Map layouts, Perk interaction changes, and add on interactions can all be tuned without nuking the killer’s entire design. The devs have done it before with Nurse herself, fatigue changes, addons being changed, adjustments to her basekit. She has already been brought in line multiple times. The problem isn’t her power existing, she isn't the same Nurse that was there when infinites were in the game.
Saying she “ignores base game mechanics” just shows a surface level understanding of how she actually plays. Her entire loop revolves around precision and prediction, two blinks, strict cooldowns, and the constant risk of overshooting or missing entirely. That is her skill expression. A smart balance change would be adjusting how aura reading interacts with her, not gutting her core mechanics.
And the whole “she takes a weekend to learn” argument is laughable. Nurse is one of the most consistency dependent killers in the game. If you don’t play her regularly and understand her blink logic, know where to go on maps, and mechanical timing, you fall apart fast vs actually good players who don't just face Nurse like she is a regular m1. That’s why most players default to the other S tiers they are easier, safer, and far less punishing. Acting like anyone can pick her up and dominate just exposes how shallow your take is.
If she is supposedly a brain dead noob stomper who “wipes the floor” every match, then why doesn’t everyone use her? Why does she underperform in average hands and only excel with experience? Because your argument doesn’t add up. It’s biased, lazy, and built on frustration that this killer isn't killed.
You don’t fix imbalance by sanding down everything with edges until it’s all equally bland. You fix it by respecting what makes each killer unique and adjusting to support variety, stop trying to make every killer the same watered down killer just because your ego demands it. I’m honestly so glad you’re not in charge of balancing, because if your version of “healthy gameplay” is removing anything that challenges people to improve, this game would be an empty shell of itself in a month.

Old dead hard had a playerbase too. Guess we can't rework extremely overpowered things for the betterment of the game? Freddy and Myers had niche dedicated playerbases and neither killer was breaking the game like Nurse. Your comparison doesn't make sense.
I prefer old Myers too and Freddy has always been boring since his first rework so I'd be happy to try something different but I doubt they'll give him another big change.
The only one bringing up Huntress overhauls is you. Maybe once you're done arguing with yourself we can talk about game balance or something…
You’re kind of missing the point here. Comparing a killer with a full unique mechanic set to a single perk is a reach. Dead Hard being reworked was about toning down a singular overperforming perk that warped gameplay across every match it appeared in. Reworking a killer like the one we’re talking about is not remotely the same thing. That’s like saying “well we nerfed Sprint Burst once, so reworking a whole killer’s design is fine.” It’s not comparable.
Freddy and Myers were both changed under the exact logic you’re pushing and both times, it killed off the dedicated players that made those killers interesting to begin with. The result wasn’t “better balance,” it was just less identity and more homogenized gameplay. That’s the point I’m making. When you take away what made a killer theirs, the people who actually enjoy and play them the most stop showing up. Just because Nurse is strong doesn't mean she deserves the same treatment because what you are saying will just take away what makes Nurse.. Nurse, but I guess thats acceptable and her playerbase doesn't deserve to keep their killers identity in your eyes.
And yeah, I brought up Huntress because she’s the perfect example of how bad this kind of thinking gets when applied broadly to a very mechanically dependent killer. You start “tweaking” the mechanics of killers that aren’t broken, just misunderstood, and suddenly you erase skill expression and identity for the sake of people who don’t like facing them. Nurse can be tweaked without taking everything that gives her identity away from her, but you don't really care about that do you.
And pretending that gutting a killer’s core mechanics is “just balance” doesn’t make it any less of a lazy fix that alienates the people who actually care about playing them. You don't have to be disingenuous just because you dislike having Nurse in the game.

This is so tiring. Nurse greatly underperforms at low level and overperforms at high level. Good news! We can actually rework her in a way that fixes BOTH.
- Rework her power to be less mechanically/muscle memory dependent. Now new players can play her without getting embarrassed for 4-6 hours straight.
- As part of her rework she will now have to actually obey regular game mechanics like every other killer. Now she doesn't vastly overperform at high level by ignoring every defense survivors have.
So the plan is to just Freddy her? Turn away everyone who actually put in the time to learn her? Brilliant idea on how to completely kill a killer. I’m sure all the old Freddy and Myers mains can tell you how amazing that feels. The only people who’d celebrate those changes are the ones who already hate her, so hey, good for you, I guess?
Whenever people throw out ideas like this, it never feels like they stop to think that these killers actually have a playerbase. You make sweeping changes like that, and you’re basically telling everyone who learned her that their time doesn’t matter. We’ve seen this story before, reworks that completely miss the mark and just drive away the people who cared. This isn’t a fix, it’s a “let’s delete this killer so we don’t have to deal with her” kind of move.
It’s like overhauling Huntress mechanics out of nowhere. I’m sure all the Huntress mains would be thrilled that everything they practiced and mastered just got flipped upside down. Totally wouldn’t make them feel like the killer they loved is gone or anything.
-
Wish they remembered the infection issue wesker had on release. Because due to his infection not going away when hooked, you just got tunneled out. After they tweaked things they made him feel way better to play against and play in my opinion.
I think she can still be fixed, but if they wait too long to fine tune her ability and infection, I am afraid she might be in the perma unfun to play against category with ghoul. It sucks cause we were actually doing pretty well with new releases like Springtrap, he was pretty well received, but they went really bit the bullet and went overboard with her. -

if its subjective to some, then its not objective at all..so plz…no more hyperbole. Its great for story telling, poetry, and manipulation. Not real discussion. And yes...I loved the changes as killer because it gave me a massive buff for a playstyle that i have already been playing for several years prior to the PTB.
Things that ARE objective:
2+2=4
Triangles have 3 sides
A kilogram is 1000 grams.
Things that are NOT objective:
Anyone's opinion ever.
Respectfully, what tangent are you even going on here? Rapid’s point was clear, he wasn’t asking for killer buffs, just pointing out that the changes felt undercooked and affected things they really shouldn’t have. I get that people are frustrated with how bad this update turned out, but that doesn’t mean the discussion has to get derailed. And calling everything hyperbole when it isn’t even relevant isn’t an argument, it’s just tossing around buzzwords. That doesn’t make your point stronger, and it doesn’t change the fact that Rapid’s criticism was fair and not really an exaggeration especially when they expanded on it. Please learn when to use the word hyperbole because you are using it incorrectly like the first time you used it was ok, but now you just are misusing it lmao.

If hes paying attention, yes.
All this does, imo, is make opportunistic tunneling more effective.
Still a change that needed to happen, as much as everyone is going to complain OMG TUNNELING IS GOING TO GET WORSE, killers that were gonna tunnel beforehand already knew your hookstates. Its actually so stupid people are complaining about this positive change it should never have been removed and the stupid argument it causes more tunneling just has never mattered. Im sorry. Like literally is it that bad of a qol change to see hook states again.
-
I just feel like if they made it so aura reading didn't work on Nurse it would just make it so Nurse players could literally only use even fewer perks which kind of feels bad already. Even though the special attack changes were absolutely valid due to starstruck it still sucks that people want her to literally only be able to run tracking perks and gen protection perks when options are already pretty squeezed variety wise.
-
Enjoy it, playing either survivor or killer, fun mode only thing I didn't enjoy was some people take the gamemode too seriously and rush generators or get a bit too kill hungry for you. It is a bit unpleasant whenever you played the weaker side killers and some of the maps are a bit too easy to work with like the Ormond map is rough unless you are facing against super new survivors, mostly cause of all the unmind gameable pallets makes it really hard vs the survivors who know how to play lol.
I don't know what some people are talking about it being the worst of the first 2 iterations when the only times it was bad was when you got paired with newer survivors or selfish ones. Which happens even in 1v4 mode. Easily will continue being a fun gamemode for me and I hope they continue adding it and add more classes. But I guess this community just wants to find stuff to complain about, which is fair enough some things truly never change. -
Honestly, it’s tough to say definitively since most tier lists are based on personal opinion and vary a lot, but ill give it an attempt. Spasmodic Breath is easily her worst addon. It literally turns you into an M1 killer with no power for 60 seconds. The only real benefit is the 115% movement speed, and yeah, you might catch people off guard once or twice, but they figure it out fast since you can’t blink at all during that time. I’d still say it keeps her stronger than someone like Trapper overall, just because her base kit is that good when you aren't stuck in the 60s, but it definitely puts her far from her usual status.
Matchbox is better, even though it locks you into a single blink, it’s still Nurse. I’d place her somewhere around Hag or Huntress with it. It makes her way more map dependent. If you don’t get a map with clear lines of sight, you’ll have to hold that blink until you’re absolutely sure you can land the hit. For newer Nurse players, this addon is brutal and will make learning her a lot harder.
The reason I don’t really consider Nurse with these addons to be in the same tier as the top killers is because you’re willingly giving up what makes her so strong. Which is her chase power. It’s such a massive nerf to take. With Matchbox, your margin for error is a lot smaller, and you have to play more cautiously. And with Spasmodic, you’re just turning yourself into an M1 killer, at that point, you might as well just pick an M1 killer that actually gets to use their power.
-
A killer ban system would be incredibly punishing for killer players. If that killer gets banned regularly, especially just because they’re strong or “annoying” to go against, killer players would just be locked out of playing the way they enjoy on characters they more than likely bought with real money. It just shows little consideration to the other players of this game, especially in a game that’s not structured around competitive ranked play and never has been.
The closest we got was the old pip system, then they removed it for skill based matchmaking. The way pipping was reworked and how SBMM was implemented suggests BHVR is intentionally steering away from traditional ranked systems. So, introducing bans (which pretty much every ranked heavy competitive game uses) feels out of sync with how the game is designed. The only and I mean only way I could see it ever happening is if they made a pro league esque custom game system, which is highly doubtful, as that scene never really grew and died out pretty fast.
Also, there’s the issue of predictability. A big part of DBD’s tension is not knowing which killer you’re facing until the first chase or sound cue. If we start banning killers or narrowing down a pool pre-game, we lose that surprise factor. Stealth killers, for example, become a lot worse if you know they’re coming.
-
Honestly, I really dislike going up against them. If the player knows what they’re doing, it’s pretty much a guaranteed GG. The matches just seem to drag on forever. Trying to finish the last gens while they’re holding down a 3 gen setup from anywhere across the map feels like a nightmare. It really feels like you need a well coordinated, locked in team just to have a chance. It’s the same kind of problem SM used to have, though at least she’s a bit more manageable now. At least from the games I played, though I dont remember her drones injuring you I find that a bit stupid, but it is what it is.

Nerf count for nurse does not matter. Survivors have been nerfed every year several times since the game's inception, and they still have things that are way too strong. Since they have already been nerfed does that mean we can't nerf them again? Of course not.
As for killers with respected powers even against the top players, see:
- Ghostface (survivors on indoor maps hold checkspots as they have to respect not knowing where the ghostface is, and have to play around stalk. See the recent Spring invitational by Hens to see how badly a match went for the survivors when they hopped on gens before knowing where Ghostface was.)
- Oni and Plague (comp survivors will actively stealth these powers if they can because of how strong they are)
- Blight/Billy (forces good positioning near objects)
- Huntress (holding hatchet while camping allows complete control of some areas that you must respect)
It is fine and arguably even good to have powers that survivors have to play around and respect. What I at least personally do not think is fine, is the fact that all game mechanics are ignored against nurse and the counterplay in chase is minimal and boring. Vaulting windows or dropping from heights without a specific perk is always a bad play. Pallets are useless ever since the stun + fatigue fix. Niche slowdowns like champion of light and the steam on the Alien map do nothing as Nurse's power is teleporting. The way you chase against nurse is shift+W away from teammates, and break LOS because when she can see you she will always hit you if she blinks safe and is good. The only true counterplay is when you have enough distance from the nurse AND are behind an object, where you can 50/50 where you go and hope the nurse guesses wrong. When you're close enough, safe blinks mean that even that counterplay does not exist. And all the Nurse needs is one of several aura reading perks to eliminate all counterplay completely, like nowhere to hide, lethal, or floods of rage, and this is why Alf ran aura reading perks in his world record Nurse winstreak.
So what do you want? Do you want Nurse to not be able to run Aura reading perks at all so you are even more constricted perk wise? Like what is the endgame here for people who dislike Nurse, because currently after the special attack change perk wise regression or aura reading are the perks you should use.
If you block aura reading on Nurse it will make regression the only consistent perks to utilize for Nurse, honestly it would have been much better if they simply given Nurse a lullaby instead of making her basic attacks special attacks because she now suffers from the issues that she had when they applied that nerf before.
I know that Nurse is a top tier killer, but any more nerfs genuinely have the ability to turn her into actually the weakest killer in the entire game. Because her main strength is her chase power, if you make that weaker or remove synergy with aura reading perks, it will flat out make EVERY Nurse weaker not just the top tier Nurses, not every Nurse is as good as the top ones. Not everyone plays like Alf does.
I am genuinely worried that if people call for another nerf and it happens, it might actually be the one that kills her, mainly due to how volatile she is as a killer where she is either strong or she is weak, no middle ground. If you rework her power you just do another Freddy situation where people feel like they lost their main, if you nerf her power she will become too weak, if you keep her how she is, people will complain. -

A slap on the wrist happened, yes.
So, calling Nurse's nerf a "slap on the wrist" is a pretty big understatement. Let's break it down. Before, Nurse had synergy with 13 perks, but after the 6.5.0 update, that synergy is gone those perks all being unusable. Plus, many new perks added after content updates either don't work with her or don't work well with her either because her basic attacks are now considered special attacks.
So, players are left with very few viable perk options. On top of that, several addons that weren't even good were nerfed alongside her two strongest sets: Range and Recharge, which were definitely overpowered. Saying it's just a "slap on the wrist" feels like a gross oversimplification.
Stop trying to downplay the impact of the changes. If anything, it feels like some people just want Nurse to be nerfed even further until she's basically unplayable. And let's not forget the addon situation. After the mid-chapter nerfs, Nurse has ended up with some of the worst addons choices out of any killer in the game. Out of 20 addons, only about 4 or 5 are actually worth using now. And even the ones they buffed still don't come even a little close to the power of either Range and Recharge so the whole hysteria on those buffed addons being a actually a buff to Nurse was clickbait.
So, where exactly is this being just a "slap on the wrist" in all of this? If we keep going down this path, we might as well just slap another nerf on her power until she's completely underwhelming. Maybe make her unable to use her power for a minute after downing a survivor, or take away her aura-reading ability so she can use even fewer perks. At this rate, we might as well make her heal survivors, since she's a nurse, right? -
@I_CAME said:
I don't know why people think she isn't going to get nerfed. Look at how frequently Behavior has been changing killers as of late. She is going to get nerfed eventually and it's really just a matter of time. People said Blight would never get nerfed and now a lot of high level Blight players are saying he is no longer S tier. I feel like they will eventually run out of killers to rework and then she will be changed. If they can rework Sadako so many times then they can rework nurse. I am going to go ahead and predict that she is significantly nerfed within the next 6-12 months.
Well if you were around when Nurse got nerfed I think all the blight mains realized blight would be nerfed, it just took longer than expected lol, but it's a bit strange to bring that up cause when they did the addon pass and special attack changes this was already discussed a lot that blight was next.
I think most people are just wondering why she needs a second nerf because of how hard the special attack changes and addons hit her, most people like to brush it off as oh it hardly effected her, but she lost range and recharge which were her 2 best addons and just randomly hit a lot of addons that never needed a nerf in the first place which was funny, but also sad cause they are now even more dead addons.
Also I think a lot of people were crying wolf about a lot of things back then regardless, especially on Jenner's addon which was a reworked addon people thought every reworked Nurse would use, but it's hardly ever used. People just clickbaited it and pretended like it would be as good as range or recharge, which it doesn't even come close to in power it's just a gimmick same as the Campbell addon.I do however think that if the nerf is as hard hitting as the special attack change or addon pass was it does threaten to make her hag level where good in some cases, but not something people enjoy playing not to doompost or anything, but if you have played Nurse any changes to her power in particular are extremely volatile since they frontloaded her kit so much.
-
Honestly if they do nerf her again it will be the day Nurse dies as her addons besides like 4 are all terrible, perk selection is terrible ever since they made the special attack change, and there is a gaping hole between 0k and 4k. like at least with blight his kit is great and addons being amazing made him broken.
Nurse is hardcore carried by her kit, this may not look bad, but it's especially volatile to the degree I honestly think any harsh change would kill her for good. I get that might be amazing for some people, but honestly it sucks cause she is genuinely a very unique killer, even if I only really played on ps4 console I did p100 her because I enjoyed her gameplay.
Don't shade me on that as I started playing her when she was the worst killer to play on console lol so it was never about her being #1 I just played her simply for her concept, teleporting killer is just cool concept. Also fun chase power.
This may be a nuclear take, but balance wise after her addon nerfs and special attack change she isn't that bad even if you copium and say that a lot of new players are playing her, I do genuinely think she is a killer with plenty of weaknesses that do push her from being as broken as people insist she is. I also really hate when people bring up peak Nurses while avoiding talking about peak survivors since people don't like to balance around peak survivors, but feel fine to say Nurse is overpowered because of how strong the best Nurses are. -

If current DH is one of the best survivor perks in the game the bar is extremely low. Next?
Stop living in 2020, dead hard may not be as strong as before, but it is by no means useless. It just isn't free anymore, but it's still widely one of the more popular survivor perks for good reason. Survivors do not just pick perks that offer no value whatsoever they typically go for perks that are fairly strong same as killers.
To pretend like it doesn't have much value is just silly. If you are trying to make it out like it's a useless wasted perk then you should have done so when people thought it was dead. Beforehand it was simply the height of survivor perk strength in all honesty your reaction towards this just showcases just how strong dead hard was to begin with.
It was not the bar being set extremely low it was the bar being set so high that realistically most perks could never even achieve the strength of this perk. Even in its altered state, it remains a viable option. Its ability to still make an impact showcases its continued relevance in the survivor meta whether you choose to believe this or not.
I just don't get why people choose to pretend when everything was so overpowered that there was no balance in the game that it was fun and good. For one I am glad it's a shadow of its former glory because it's genuinely miserable having the same meta for 6 years straight. This goes for both survivor perks and killer perks btw, so miss me with the us vs them. -

And?
It is not like Overheat was unreasonable back then. You had the Killer with the best mobility and an easy to use Instadown (not talking about Curving, talking about Backrevs, which were super easy, especially with (Double) Chargetime).
It was quite obvious that the Killer which the Community called "most balanced" was not "most balanced" anymore at this point in th game, because the game got significant easier for Killer. So it is just logical that the "most balanced" moves towards a weaker Killer than Billy.
In retrospect, removing Chargetime- and Cooldown-Add Ons would have been enough. But I can get behind the idea of nerfing more back then. The Devs also realized that they went too harsh with it, with basically making Overheat nonexistent to the point that you had to actively try to overheat your Chainsaw.
I used to play a lot of old Billy before his new rework, the addition of the overheat mechanic was extremely unfun and actually deterred me from playing him further. It felt like it stripped away the joy of being a skilled Billy player, and fun addons like using drift king or landing curves. Instead of feeling rewarded for mastering these techniques, you were constantly penalized for trying to enjoy yourself.
As a result, Billy became more enjoyable for survivors to face off against because he became easier to defeat. Only the most dedicated Billy mains continued to play him, and even they grew weary of dealing with the overheat mechanic. It's frustrating when people sugarcoat these issues or act as if they possess some kind of inside knowledge like you acting like it wasn't that bad. When in reality it really was that bad, overheat was awful.
Also, I really don't think it needs to be said, but balance wise killers are highly subjective. What one person considers balanced and fun might be seen as frustrating or unbalanced by someone else. Take the Trapper, for example, who many consider to be well-balanced and straightforward to counter. Yet, when players use top-tier addons or employ strategies shack trapper, opinions quickly shift. It's unreasonable to expect a universally agreed-upon definition of balance because there will always be dissenting voices. Or basically just say the most balanced killer is the worst performing that's how it usually goes anyway. Those are typically the "fun" killers, but only really fun when playing against not playing as.
Also even with the changes to reduce overheat it was still obnoxious to have it felt like you were actively being punished for using your power. So you saying overheat was basically nonexistent is just detracting honestly. I doubt you even played billy simply because you just lack an understanding of why it was a problem to begin with. There was a reason even the OG billy mains quit him or kept begging for the removal of overheat.

I feel the need to put the "Doing Dull Totems is a horrible form of counterplay" in here.
:)
Bruh, you guys are still doing this even after 2024? This forum never ceases to fail to be a toxic circlejerk lol. The way NOED is currently is miles better than the old NOED because you can see it through walls. Reasonably the only case that the killer will be able to protect it is if you are seriously unlucky.
Which more often than not isn't the case and if you allow the killer to get 4 slugs while also protecting their totem then that's a missplay. Now get out of here it isn't 2020 anymore you don't need to do 5 dulls because you get wall hacks on the totem lol. The only way it would be impossible if they played hag, which most people don't.

I p100'd Nurse on PS4, but I haven't been having fun with the game, so I'm on a three month long break; I'm hoping that they add a way to get progression moved to PC or add a fun new game mode and then I. Cause Ps4 is unplayable now for some reason like its getting to the point that it was near release for Ps4 where the quality was so terrible and frame loss was common. :/

Oh, Killer players complained about it. They see that a Perk is used very often and assume it is the reason they are losing games.
And IF WoO will be nerfed in the future, guess what happens? The same Killer players still lose games and go for the next Perk. And even before WoO there was another Perk which made them lose games.
So yeah, WoO was complained about and IMO not justified at all. High pickrates are not a reason for Nerfs. I dont even run WoO because I dont feel that I need it.

ain't no way you're going to pretend killers weren't complaining about windows lmao.
Okay, you guys need to understand that just because something gets talked about on the forum doesn't mean that ALL killers want this perk nerfed. It happens with every perk/killer/item in the game. At one point or another, it will be complained about. I mean, Lightborn gets complained about, Franklins was complained about, then nerfed, and stuff like that, not even strong perks. It happens all the time, but to act like it's the entire killer population when most people don't even know about these little posts is silly.
If it exists, there will be someone who dislikes it; it's just the case with everything. I have met people complaining about Spies for the Shadows, saying it's overpowered, yet I don't make counter-nerf posts gauging from the few people I have heard that think it's overpowered. Like we don't need us vs them posts it's just so annoying like genuinely, I don't know how you guys can keep doing this you have been doing it for how long now lol.

Why do you need to add "us vs them" onto every comment people make as if it adds anything more to the conversation.
You know this happens so why does it matter.
It's not like your comments add value to the conversations because what you said can be flipped as often as needed. Both sides are just childish regarding what gets nerfed and what doesn't. That's it, end of discussion woah crazy. I didn't even know that people who like playing Survivor don't like it when their favorite perks are nerfed, and OMG crazyyyy killer players don't like it when their favorite perks are nerfed!? /s
Oh wait, I forgot I have to say it like you do. Those horrible horrible *insert main* keep wanting our perks nerfed, they are so terrible I don't like them.
Raccoon at least understands that this game isn't just one side, which you never will understand.💀

I can't tell if all motivation for playing dbd being gone is the reason or just the chapter isn't as hype for me, but I have zero interest. I wish they added some fun game modes to the base game or something. :c

You remind me of Sluzzy lol. Dang, I miss Sluzzy, definitely one of the forum members of all time.

To be honest, it feels more like 2020 again than anything, things have been getting way harder and it definitely doesn't feel as relaxed I had to take a break from the game because every game feels like a sweat fest moreso than before :/

I remember when playing Nurse on console gave you a pass to the hating Nurse train, I miss those times. 😭

The funny part is Nurse is one of the only killers that I don't feel like I'm being hindered by the killer's power, If I make a mistake, I fully own that mistake but with other killers it's like their lunge is weak, they have no anti-loop, they are too perk/add-on reliant, whereas with Nurse it's purely my skill not any limitations.
I don't like playing Nurse online often though cause people give up quick ESPECIALLY if you bring lethal pursuer. - A Nurse main who switched from console to pc and the first thing I wanted to do was learn Nurse on PC hehe
Another console Nurse that's rare, I wish I could make the leap as well to go to PC like you😊

It's clear her power is so busted and there is no fair counters against her.
They can nerf her for million times but nothing will change.
They can take her all add-ons but nothing will change.
They can make her perkless killer to play but nothing will change.
Because this killer is ignoring everything core game has. No respect to pallets, ignore walls, make vaults unsafe. And ofcourse insane map mobility as well.
You nerfed Dead Hard to ground because obviously it was so op. But yet this killer is still in game after years. I think op things deserves to be nerfed only if survivors has it.
To answer your question simply because reworking a killer in the game just because people don't like them is something that shouldn't be taken lightly it's one of the reasons why they don't rework Hag or Cenobite. Let me ask you this, why should a killer be reworked just because you do not like them? Do you want another Freddy situation where the killer dies anyway because what made her unique before just isn't there anymore?
She is a strong killer, but to make her out to be this big issue like dead hard was where it was played in the vast majority of games is a huge overstatement. She has more comparisons with the pinnacle of swf by the way you are going with this, than dead hard, and even that isn't a fair comparison.
You can say something is unfair or shouldn't be in the game all you want, but the devs are unlikely ever to do anything unless you can provide accurate evidence to the contrary that Nurse really is some broken, ungodly entity that lurks in the shadows, just annihilating everything because atm the strongest killers in the game are Onyryo and Skull Merchant apparently. She is pretty mixed in performance, and plenty of my matches against her have also gone that way, where sometimes I lose, sometimes I win. Even when I do play a Nurse match, my games go either way. Most Nurses in the game aren't as strong as you are leading to.
If you actually have evidence to the contrary, though, Nurse is beyond a doubt stifling the balance of the game as well as being so absurdly op that it's comparable to dead hard, which had the most use out of any survivor perk in the game and went through 2 massive reworks and consistently became the most used survivor perk over and over again then go ahead. Because I just am not seeing this in the Nurse. She is nowhere near her prime state and is consistently one of the killers that you aren't likely to face. Please don't just give me a content creator video. I want to see actual data that puts enormous red flags that Nurse is that big of an issue because I am not seeing it.
The thing is, Nurse is, in most regards, not really a common killer to go against, let alone one that most people genuinely know how to play or can play. Otherwise, she would be the most played killer, but for most people, she isn't as strong or consistent as others would like to make you believe. Her addons are mediocre even before the additional addon pass, though recharge and range needed to be changed. Though you are typically not going to see any addons being used besides the mangled addon and maybe the fatigue reduction addon IMO. People were making it out to be a big deal with the Jenner addon, but I don't think I have seen a single Nurse I play against use it though. I guess it's cause the sample size is pretty small over here. Though it definitely didn't take up as big of a storm as people said.

Name a time the burn mechanic was a good idea and didn't end being thrown on a hook. 🤣
Fr most people didn't even know how to burn her properly. It's more consistent to use a firecracker or flashbang to burn a Nurse out of her power than use the flashlight burn mechanic. It was always a terribly implemented mechanic.
Most people make a big deal out of it because they think something huge was actually taken away, but no, it was just a mechanic that barely anyone even used in the first place, let alone know about it. Nothing of value was lost IMO with its removal.
-
Feels like he is map dependent moreso than most killers and he has a reverse cenobite effect where it feels like the longer the match goes on the stronger the survivors get so you have to get out ppl fast ig. just not my cup of tea i don't enjoy area control killers.

Eruption was bad designed perk. It did nothing to SWF but hurt solo-q so much.
CoB was fine tho but i think 3-gen was problem and they would not fix it.
I don't think 3% haste makes this perk busted but alright. People are also complaining about SB and Lithe too. These perks busted too? Or we just should admit the fact? People just want to nerf everything other side have.
its bad game design. being given a speed boost simply for being injured its like saying dead hard was fine even though the conditions for being given it were so easy to achieve that it made all the other exhaustion perks pale in comparison lamo. made for this hurts the weakest killers, but does nothing against the strongest killers. So your point?
-
its really a strong perk ngl, i managed to 1v1 a killer with hope + made for this in endgame and saved my entire team, its definitely strong that's for sure. It allows you to greed pallets way more and I kind of wanna do a meme build with a friend to push the build even further with the speed increasing perks ik that isn't likely to work well, but I just find it funny how fast you can get with just hope and made for this.

it was just a nerf to not being able to give certain killers headaches namely me lol.

There just aren't a lot of good decent killer perks anymore, bbq isn't the greatest because it gets easily countered by distortion once people start running distortion more you will see it die away, because distortion is overtuned against non-stealth killers. Very hard not to deny aura reading killers information with little to no effort. It's one of the reasons why I stopped using aura reading and just started using slowdown because aura reading is good when it works, but has many counters.
The reason BBQ was used so much is flat out because it gave bp with a decent effect now that it doesn't do that anymore it's just a fact that it wouldn't be a good pick. It's being used more rn because there just aren't many options after slowdown was nerfed so people chose BBQ because when it works it helps to make some chases faster or just give decent information. I don't really know why you made this post in the first place cause BBQ has always been a well-rounded perk, it just wasn't used that much because there were clear winners in the killer perk meta after the nerf to bp gain.
It's the same thing with distortion really, people called distortion bad just because aura reading wasn't used as much as slowdown so now that aura reading is being used more distortion is being used more and distortion will just make aura reading not used as much self-balancing in a way, it's just the way it goes.
