It's boring, just a way for people to bypass the dc penalty. Though it's whatever I rather just let the rest of the survivors go.

NOOOO!! Sorry solo queue guys :( I had good intentions.
Muahahah I have devoured so many innocent solo q players souls today, I hope you are happy with your choice.

If you are ps4, my ability interaction is triangle, x is dropping pallets + vaulting so chains don't mess with interactions anymore. It took a while to get used to but wish you well.

I've seen a post about her new music, and while they're right, almost all of them in the post claimed they stopped playing nurse because of it!
If we can keep some nurses away from the game, that's totally fine. thank you <3
Just for that im going to play 1000 Nurse games because of it.

Way too loud, I haven't been playing Nurse for a while mostly survivor cause the music is way too loud.

So take out something fun even though it doesn't do that much for what reason though? Lets remove spinning as survivor because it really doesn't do anything anyway. What sort of mentality is that? It's way more fun to hug tech than just pure bump logic. The only thing the hug tech really does is mitigate rushes which is impactful don't get me wrong, but in chase it's just wasted time on a non guaranteed hit. Actually rotten fields would be hard without it so there's that.
Honestly I don't even play blight and I still don't really think the hug tech should be taken out, simply because it's cool having stuff like that, in the game like I used to do parkour billy and space billy and it was the most fun ever so I can understand why blights love the hug tech. I still am sad that they got rid of space billy and parkour billy..

Umm we can see when someone is being hooked. I'm guessing you don't play survivor. Their aura lights up red just before the hook happens. It gives you enough time to hop off the gen. And if you don't want to rely on the aura, then you hop off the gen when they get picked up. It's different to Eruption because a survivor could hold chase for minutes/multiple gens so you can't just wait around for them to be downed to avoid 25s incapacitation. With PR though, a killer will hook the survivor within a matter of seconds. Or, as most survivor do, you wait for the hook aura and jump off for a second.
Unless they are using mindbreaker to hide the aura, but that's 3 perks in use just to try to proc it, which is honestly better than them stacking with perks that are better at regressing or stalling the game.

My friends only ever seem to get use out of Dead Hard when it’s a newer killer. As soon as we’re against people in our MMR range, it becomes virtually useless as killers just wait for you to use it and then swing after. Since the rework, I can only think of a handful of times people have been successful using it against my Myers and that’s when they’re running into a pallet. I find it no more ‘annoying’ than when people use Sprint Burst to zoom away from their gen. I’ve truly never understood why Dead Hard is always such a hot topic.
Because sprint burst, you have wasted 0s in a chase with them before seeing they have sprint burst, while dead hard triggers in the chase, and if you activate it, not only does it remove bloodlust, but it also gives them the best distance out of most of the exhaustion perks besides overcome. When it does work, it's obnoxious, and people can underplay it all they want, but it's still used for a reason because it's still good. It's not the most used exhaustion perk for zero reasons because it can literally win games, while sprint burst only makes it, so the killer doesn't get into a chase with you unless you're 99, which isn't something most people have time to do anyway.
If sprint burst really was stronger, wouldn't you know people use sprint burst more than dead hard? You guys are like the people who doubted the strength of old dead hard and kept saying sprint burst was just better because sometimes it didn't work and left you exhausted on the ground. When they added dedicated hits and everyone started to use dead hard, it wasn't much of a surprise to how obviously good it was. It's still good, and it still gives you more value than all the exhaustion perks when it works because that 20s chase just turned into a much longer chase than it would have if they had sprint burst.
-
I wish people would stop pretending perks that perks which work even when they aren't in play are healthy for the game. Not to mention perks like dead hard clearly weren't nerfed hard enough compared to the other meta perks that were nerfed because it's still the most used survivor perk for a good reason too.
Because, in essence, it's virtually the same only difference is it's not used for distance. Can we escape the dead-hard meta? It's been so many years it's so dull that this perk is still the king of exhaustion perks.
Like, I get it some of you don't mind new dead hard, but I hate how it's still overused, and when it does work, it still gives you the most value out of any exhaustion perk.
Difficult to use or not, it's not healthy for the game, and it's not enjoyable to always have to play around with it. It should have been nerfed to the ground with eruption. I never use eruption, but I do use dead hard, and I still can reliably get value from it. It's not as hard to use as people like to pretend, and even when it's not in play, I can waste a killer's time by pretending I have dead hard because every killer has been conditioned to "just wait it out," like do you guys really think that this perk is by any means healthy? Sure, it's better, but it's still obnoxious and still better than it should be. I would gladly give survivors back 5s ds than have to deal with dead hard for 5 years more.

Pain res takes 13.5 seconds of progress off of a gen, and doesn't actually tell you reliably where it was. Eruption will show you the aura for a full 10 seconds. A nurse being able to see the aura of a survivor should basically be a guaranteed hit. The best slowdown in the game, is a downed or hooked survivor.
The top nurse players never actually used starstruck and agitation. They use aura reading perks, because a nurse can down people faster than any slowdown that exists in this game, and having aura reading to guarantee a hit is insane.
That's just asking to lose all your gens quickly because as soon as people know it's a Nurse match, they rush gens, at least the survivors I go against, and 10s chases aren't going to help you much unless you get 10s chases the whole match without them making you mess up from time to time extending chases, which is something that happens even with the best Nurse players.
Not to mention it's effortless to counter aura reading, equip distortion, or have shadow step, which makes aura-reading huntresses and most killers who use aura reading very sad. (Any killer that really doesn't have an on-command aura reading like Myers wallhack addons or a blight with the one aura reading on bonk addon. Are hard countered by those two perks, and Nurse only has mini nurses calling addon, which is very useless.)
People hype aura reading as this big thing, but it's really not as good as people say. It's only good because people don't use perks like distortion or shadow step that are a hard counter to it. I know this because I used to use aura reading a lot until people started using shadow step and distortion more, which in the end, makes me play out a match with less value I would have gotten from simply using a non-aura reading perk.

You think 10 seconds of aura reading on the nurse (more if you bring lethal) wouldnt be strong for nurse?
@Reinami said:
They buffed it for nurse players. it's now actually going to be a solid nurse perk.
Prob better on blight than Nurse due to his superior traversal time, unless it's midwich or the survivors were working on it near her; it's going to be hard to capitalize on it. However, we will have to see. I can definitely say perks like nowhere to hide are good on Nurse because she can take advantage of it with deadly efficiency, but Eruption it's really going to be a hit or a miss, especially on big maps.

You know now that I think about it’s pretty funny that nurse had her whole code reworked but they only ever once attempted to fix huntress’ hitboxes and haven’t even attempted the same kind of fix for twins
Especially since the move to dedicated is what has caused a lot of huntress’ issues
If you remember, back then, it wasn't really once or twice in a while. It was constantly every game, you would get one of the bugs, either the blink bug where you couldn't use your second blink, and you would constantly get spammed by the blinking sound effect or the m1 bug. It was really awful and definitely made Nurse really unfun to play as, like, think twins level of bugs, but 10x because her code was really, really bad. Like I can go to several twins games without having a bug, but back then, it was guaranteed to happen because the latest updates somehow made the issue more frequent.
I think the reason why huntress wasn't fixed, but Nurse was, is because of just how unplayable it was getting. Even dedicated Nurse players were not playing because it literally just wasn't fun. Similar to how it is getting for twins with all their game-breaking bugs, while I suppose the developers think after touching the crouching hitbox while doing actions, huntress was in a better place. Who knows maybe they are afraid to touch her again due to what happened last time they redid her hitboxes.

Oh, I agree. Shadowstep is, in my opinion, in a pretty decent spot, mostly because it can become way more powerful on indoor maps, as you mentioned. It's more situational as a result.
But if killers get basekit shattered hope, Shadowstep is going right down to 0% usage rate, I can promise you that.
I just don't think shattered hope is ever going to become basekit, they are more likely to nerf the COH than add shattered hope. Though they definitely need to change dark theory because they clearly won't make the movement increase busted leaving it as the weakest boon perk at least boon unbreakable has some niche uses while boon dark theory is just bad all around.

nothing a survivor does in a trial is a net loss unless actively trying to die or afk.
No, that is definitely not true. Everything a survivor does is either optimal, or subtracting from it. There are LOADS of things survivors can do that they don't need to do that detract from their chance to survive.
14 seconds spent booning a totem aren't guaranteed to increase your chances of survival. 14 seconds on a gen, are.
cleansing or booning a totem is an effort to survive.
Lemme spend 1.5 minutes running around the map trying to cleanse 5 dulls, see what that does to my winrate.
boons don't stack, but survivors can only boon a singular totem at a time. meaning their aoe is fixed. 4 survivors with circle of healing can't all boon the same totem, but 4 survivors with circle of healing can boon 4 totems and enhance the aoe's distance.
And the benefit from that falls off -really- hard. Sure, you can have four boons up all at the same time, but only one will be used to heal. Which means that what could've been accomplished with 14 seconds worth of work and one perk slot now takes 4 perk slots and 56 seconds.
What a deal!
the choice to use or not use boon perks is more of a financial decision than it is a power budget issue. all of the boon perks require purchases. or would you honestly argue that sabotage and bond are high tier perks?
Why on earth are you bringing finances in this? And what do sabotage and bond have to do with boons?
(Also, no joke, Bond is actually a pretty strong perk for solo players)
i earned adept mikayla literally minutes after purchasing her.
And that is obviously and exclusively due to her boons, and the performances of the killer and three other survivors had -nothing- to do with that.
boon totems themselves are a fun mechanic, but there has to be more counterplay.
That'll require gargantuan buffs to Shadow Step, Exponential and Dark Theory, because Shadow Step is underperforming and the other two are at the bottom of the trash bin.
it's a logical fallacy to say that something should be because it has always been. i think it's called appeal to tradition.
Okay, but then you have to break down the entire system and not just hand-pick the one thing that frustrates you.
And you'd still need proportionality, because as mentioned, most boons are actually really really really, REALLY bad. So why install a gargantuan mega-nerf that'll knock the only good boon from 'solid pick' to 'No Mither-tier', while the rest is already on the bottom?
If im being honest shadowstep most definitely doesn't need a buff, it's already super oppressive on indoors maps against most killers and aura reading killers absolutely despise it. That's for a reason, because it's very strong, just the placement is what really decides whether this perk is used or not. When you get a perfect totem spot, it can really really mess up killers. So no shadowstep definitely doesn't need a buff.
-
not even going to lie I think that's partially why they removed the moonlight offerings cause that made my console lag so bad lol as well as other reasons.

Knight is easily the worst killer design of 2022. We went from Wesker who is one of the most well-liked killers in the game to...him. In matches with Knight there is just almost no skill expression for either side when it comes to his power. All you do is drop a guard in place and it does the work for you. A survivor can't outrun two killers at once unless you REALLY screw up. He's not OP, just incredibly unfun and takes no skill.
Like OP sort of mentioned, even though Artist can shut down loops similarly, she still needs to actually land her birds if she wants to do anything. There's more counterplay and mindgames available from the survivor side and the game doesn't do the work for you. If you can't hit your shots with her, you will lose.
I just got out of a 25 minute match against Knight with Eruption/CoB/Overcharge/Pain Res. Eventually turned into 3 escapes, but my god was it boring.
Not really on topic, but I don't really think Wesker is really that well-liked; there is a sizable portion who dislike Wesker I have plenty of friends who think his music is too loud and also really hate the new collision on his grabs where he can grab through pallets sometimes. Personally, I do enjoy him, but having him easily like 20+ games in a row was pretty bad on my opinion of him lol, but that is moreso a problem with him being very popular. Like if his grabs didn't look so bizarre sometimes, he would definitely be one of my fav, but I have the same issue with blight with him, where sometimes they get some wonky hits like blight with his vault rush hits.
-
Knight or Onyro, Knight for obvious reasons and Onyro because they are some of the most tryhardy people in existence people always say Nurses and Blights always go for 4ks and slug for the 4k, but no joke, every Onyro I have played against are just people who play like they will lose everything if they lose lol. Like I'm talking about bleeding people out, hard proxying hooks to make survivors hit stage 2, stacking slowdowns, using the healing addon and slugging people, and tunneling people like crazy. It's just really boring to go up against and I just don't enjoy Onyro as much as I used to. Most of the Nurse and Blight matches I go up against are never nearly as bad as the Onyro's. I feel like they have the same issue as Knights where they just go into matches willing to do anything to win, even stall out the game for 30 minutes defending a 3 gen, I have so many Onyro games in a row where they just do the same strategy over and over it's like you are playing the same player over and over.

If you run it into the ground something else will take its place. Then you will be bored of that perk. Sometimes you have to give alternatives instead of always looking to bring something down.
What would you consider giving alternatives, because I was under the impression the new killer meta was like that, but I suppose you are right that if you run something into the ground something else will take it's place. Though I don't really like the alternatives to slowdown the devs added as they kind of got really old really fast.
Also I just feel like perks like dead hard and eruption are both just not really well-designed perks in general..
-
@Mr_K said:
No. Perk was recently changed to a state where most players don't mind it anymore. You will find outliers still complaining but you see that with anything and everything DBD.
My one complaint with the perk is that the meta change didn't solve its overuse for a month, it was barely used, but now it's back to being overly used, which I just find so boring. I have the same feeling going against eruption 5th game in a row, and the meta is still really stale.
-
Q times are almost as bad as they used to be, like I get that the survivor hud changes needed to happen, but games are taking ages to find lobbies again. They really need to do something at the very minimum.
-
I try to go for double hooks on everyone, but if the survivors are getting gens super fast, even with fast chases where I cannot keep up as I don't run slowdown builds or if I am at one gen in those situations, I would say if I see a 2nd stage survivor and a survivor who hasn't been hooked, I am for sure going for the 2nd stage survivor.

hold on, are you guys really calling WoO overpowered, the best perk in the game, etc? I've always completely considered it a beginner-designed perk, eventually, you should play the maps enough to understand where things spawn and get a sense of the area as soon as you figure out what map your loading into. there's no way thinking WoO is one of the best perks in the game is the common thought here, just play the game, use gamesense, or even look around the map and make a mental one before you plug yourself onto a generator for engaging gameplay sit-down quiet time.
that being said, I don't agree with OP's suggestion. the perk is good as it is for people who are starting out and need their chases to be a bit handholdy. i wouldn't mind it being buffed, but being buffed just to be better against some killers in specific situations doesn't seem like the right way to balance the game.
Honestly, I wouldn't even say that WoO is only beginner-designed as plenty of people use it to chain tiles together or just increase chases. The value you can get from it is insane; not saying I want it nerfed though it's in an okay spot. I get downed the majority of the time because I find myself in areas where I can't chain tiles together. I know everyone says an experienced player should figure out where to run on the go and to keep an eye on things so they know what tiles are what, but it's nice not having to worry about that situation and plan ahead if you get what I mean.
-
I don't dodge, but if I see four survivors all wearing the same cosmetic, I have the urge to leave lol because it's so confusing constantly trying to figure out who is who.

It is too bad there are so many posters like that who are only interested in strenghtening their preferred side rather than a fun, balanced game for both sides.
You have to be joking, are you some kind of us vs them person who genuinely thinks that people have to take sides in this game. Like dude you come up with the worst takes constantly that only benefit one side Starlost at least has reasonable takes for both sides unlike you. If you have a friend and want to practice run window of opportunity and go into a kyf; try to last as long as possible against them. Maybe with them playing as a killer, you struggle against figuring out how the killer works and plays genuinely does help.
It is what I do, and it really helps me to understand better certain killers that I don't really play against often or struggle against and is quite fun, but if you don't really have friends that want to do kyf just using windows of opportunity practicing tips and tricks from your friends because I am sure they would be willing to help you improve chases, like maybe from the best "looper" of your team.
It may take a while, but I'm sure you will get the hang of it. I could give you more tips and tricks, but it's way better to learn it visually than just to read it out, so I hope it helps.
Though none of this works, here is a visual guide on how to play better as survivor, it may be a bit complicated in some aspects, but I hope you learn some tips and tricks from it.

I just dislike how people use the perk as well because they use potential energy on the gen they were getting potential energy from like they are losing out on so much progress doing it, when they can just 99 a gen and complete that gen after getting potential energy to move it somewhere else. I wouldn't actually mind if they buffed potential energy to be an equal amount of time spent on the generator just so I don't have to see people misusing it all the time because it drives me crazy.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/W5VIK4SD14EZ/image-2023-02-02-152053377.png
- Trial of Torment ~ Undetectable gets canceled upon a Survivor losing a health state, which means I can use this to get my Feral Frenzy chains going.
- Lethal Pursuer ~ To increase the early game action because I have ADHD and have been obsessing over this perk (thank you BHVR, I love this perk and glad it got buffed).
- SH: Gift of Pain ~ I only really use this for its synergy with SH: Floods of Rage, the slowdown is nice but is often useless since people dont heal against Legion anymore because of Dead 'Ard.
- SH: Floods of Rage ~ I just love aura reading perks and SH: Floods of Rage has been another fixation of mine, I use to really hate it but after using it more Ive come to enjoy it a lot, it can especially help when an unhook occurs within a chase. Also it has Synergy with Lethal Pursuer, which is really nice.
But what do yall think? Is this a "super sweaty" build?
Sweaty is going into a game with full slowdown perks like eruption. So no, they are just being salty because they lost lol. Like lethal, people say is sweaty, but no lethal isn't at all sweaty it's an information perk. Information perks mean fewer slowdown perks which are arguably worse to go against in general. People call my build sweaty all the time even though it's literally shadowborn then all aura reading, it's like people want you to run unrelenting or spies from the shadow at this rate lol.

It's just boring to see it again every game, I really miss when people actually used unique builds when dead hard got nerfed, but now it's back to copypasta meta builds. That's why I hate dead hard because meta builds are boring and so unfun to see every single game. Like I feel the same about the gen kick meta if it really makes you feel any better. The meta change literally did very little to change the actual meta of the game. The killer meta is still regression, the survivor meta only has one perk switched around, ds isn't used as much, lol. So sick of people crying about Dead Hard. It’s beyond a joke now. I don’t even use the stupid perk and even I am getting angry on behalf of the people that do.
DH was nerfed to the ground and killer mains rejoiced. It was every topic on this forum when it happened. The chance of getting it timed perfectly is such a small window and it can so easily be baited.
It’s a skill issue at this point, not an issue with the perk.
Today I learned the most used survivor perk is "nerfed to the ground" I'm sure all the survivors using dead hard are using it out of the kindness of their hearts, and it truly is weak, and if it were nerfed again, it would cause the true overpowered perk sprint burst to rise to the top. /s
-
That kind of boon on small maps like rpd and midwich sounds like nightmare fuel, lol; just put on expo, circle, shadow, and sabotage boon and bully the heck out of those killers. It's a fun idea, but its niche isn't very useful for solo survivors and outright evil with bully squads.
-
I'm fine with a feature that reduces the chances of facing the same killer next game, like going from a blight match into a blight match, but not outright banning you from playing with certain killers. Though even me being fine with reducing the chances, it still is problematic especially if it's a popular killer it could increase the wait time more than it should be.
-
I once suggested it a long time ago for a perk search bar, but most of the replies were people telling me it's just alphabetized. I hope people now realize just how annoying it is to search for perks now that we have so many lol.
-
I actually don't mind pain res as much as I used to now that deadman was nerfed. It isn't nearly as strong what I do find boring, however, is the gen kick meta perks. Pain res, I think is a fairly well-designed perk, it is a bit frustrating at times when it catches you off guard but it has fairly simple counterplay when you know it is in play.

Hey, I'm relatively new to this game. I'm only prestige 1 on one killer and prestige 1 on one survivor, but I can't help but notice how the Nurse seems really unbalanced. And I asked my friends who also play and they say that it's well-known that the Nurse is unbalanced and it has been for a long time. Is there any reason she hasn't been nerfed or removed? Just wondering. Thoughts? There's literally no way to escape her.
Maybe play the game more before acting like you know how to balance in this game. Also, it's more opinion based than fact-based. The nurse doesn't majorly outperform every other killer in fact, there are way more objectionably harder killers to win against and statistically speaking win way more than Nurse does. So unless Nurses' kill rate was through the roof, I doubt they will make the killer garbage or remove her and it's kind of silly for you to even suggest that. As well as the fact she was already recently nerfed, so your friends are wrong lol.

Self-Care was one of the Perks which just got nerfed for the sake of nerfing. It was already a pretty bad healing option, now it is even worse (which does not prevent people from bringing it and heal for over 40 seconds at baseline..) or has to be paired with Botany Knowledge.
Regarding Botany Knowledge - IMO the efficiency debuff was not needed. The thing is, they wanted to reduce the efficiency with Medkits to slow down Healing Speeds with them, which would have been faster with Botany Knowledge.
However, IMO they should just cap healing Speeds to a minimum time required (same with how much Slowdown a Killer can bring). So that you can still use Perks with Medkits, but avoid things like 4 second Self-Heals when you stack all the Healing-Stuff. This would also mean that individual Perks can be stronger, because pairing them with other Perks will not grant insane Healing Speeds.
I still feel like even paired with Botany, and it just isn't worth it compared to Botany + Circle idk the specific time-saving. Still, it just feels better, if you know what I mean like I don't honestly know how people self-care, it reminds me of the incapacitated effect, and don't get me started if they have coulrophobia and mangled with self-care lol.
They really should rework it if they don't want to deal with that kind of perk, honestly, cause sometimes it feels like its more of a detriment to games than a help though I feel bad for the specific builds that utilize self-care like the gimmicky bite the bullet self-care build.
Honestly, I didn't actually think that it would be kind of ridiculous to keep the speed able to be stacked. I was a bit biased since I enjoy Botany so much lol, but I think your idea of capping it would honestly make it way safer. I also think that they should maybe make other perks that aren't used as much, like autodidact, and increase the skill check rate by at least 10% or 20%. Then it could potentially counter coulrophobia, it already somewhat does, but the skill check rng feels so bad, honestly.
I also wish they took ideas like making the one Jill perk where you get half of your bar back have a secondary effect of countering the bleed status and Reactive Healing. Just to make those perks more viable since mangled is now way more popular. (When they don't use full slowdown.)
Though I am a bit scared that they will make more downright busted perks like Eruption or buffed boil over before it was nerfed, but I'm still really excited to see more perk passes. I always forget when the next chapter will be released. I am pretty sure the next perk pass will be next midchapter, where they finally look at eruption. However, I can't remember when the midchapter is.

I have a feeling you have a thing for nurses.
If I am being honest I wanted to be a Nurse irl (sadly never happened) and I am a big fan of Silent Hill though sadly never actually played the games or watched the movies just watched stuff on it and was like so cool fangirling on it and I think the characters are badasses. Though my friend also pointed out that I basically play Nurse as survivor and killer, I thought might as well main them both, my first pick was Yui or Quentin cause he is really cute. ^^

Im fine with them delete Coh if they bring back Selfcare, Botany, Pharmacy; and buff Solidarity, Reactive healing, Resurgence prevent Haemorrhage effect.
I still don't really understand why they nerfed self-care so hard lol, but I don't want them to revert to botany. I love new botany. It's so much faster. Though I guess to give it like a 25% efficiency boost instead of making it 50% less efficiency.

My Nurse is at p90 atm, then after that, I am going to fully play survivor and try to get my survivor to p100 I play Lisa garland, who is currently at p10.

It's an outdated system, and they should have just removed depipping when they made grades not matter to mmr.

What’s more insulting is how Nurse walked away with a mere slap on the wrist in comparison.
losing both range, recharge, and synergy to 13 perks is not really a slap on the wrist nerfwise in fact, it's one of the biggest addons nerfs as of late. Completely reworking four super strong addons into much weaker add-ons and changing others was much bigger than her first addon pass, that's for sure.
Sure there is a great addon (which was also nerfed, but it's still fun), but you are understating just how much was nerfed. All the buffs to 3 of her add-ons that weren't used much still aren't really on the same power level as recharge and range, but I am pretty much over those add-ons at this point. I have been having a lot of fun with the Jenner addon with the catatonic addon. Though it is a shame they nerfed catatonic, I never really used it before the nerf, so I still don't get why they nerfed it as well as fatigue, lol.

The nurse needs more nerfs. For example she shouldn’t be able to see auras when blinking.
Yes, because pushing a killer only to be able to rely on slowdowns obviously will result in more perk diversity and not just using all the strongest perks together. Nurses barely use Aura reading because if a Nurse really wants to win, they use slowdown. Even if they made this change, you would likely be on the forum asking why Nurses only stack slowdowns. Removing value from aura reading makes them obsolete, meaning fewer people will use those perks.
If you honestly hate aura reading so much and face it that often that it's deemed a problem to you, use perks that counter aura reading, like shadowstep or distortion; it's that simple. They also added in free kindred + more information, so I'm sure you have at least 1 slot open to replace a perk or two because, in this game, you can counter perks using other perks.
