  • No killer in particular; more like a playstyle. I don't like it when matches right off the bat are just attrition battles fighting against stacked regression sucks. It's just a dull playstyle for someone who prefers chases and just being chased instead of going back and forth between generators until either the killer wins or the survivors manage to get the last generator done because the killer over-committed or gave up with the attrition battle. The game is generally about managing the generators, but when it feels like the killer is entirely focusing on tower defense, it just isn't that fun.

  • Wait, they ruined vault wraith and vault Myers... what the heck..

  • I still see 2-3 every lobby now that people have learned how to use it, not as obnoxious as it used to be, but my gosh, the matches when the survivors are on point can really be infuriating, they are definitely way better at it now.

  • It's a bug and I swear every chapter is always filled with bugs now, I can't remember the last time it wasn't so buggy, but this chapter definitely has some nasty ones.

Besides hyper focused which is busted the other gen perks are fine. Prove thyself ends up being as efficient as just splitting up and fast track is meh

Killers now have deadlock, CoB, eruption, PR and DMS as amazing regression options. Ruin and pop are gone sure but new almost better perks have taken their place

My interpretation of what they meant was that they disliked how the only things that really changed were the perks being used. It still sucks that regression is still the best way to go perk-wise. I wish they could strike a healthier balance because a full build of regression perks still sucks to go against purely because of how good they are at winning wars of attrition unless you are with a really, really good swf, and not using any regression as a killer who can't really create as much pressure as say the top tier killers really really feels awful, at least when going against survivors who care about working on generators.

aura perks would not be useless on nurse, you would see the aura until pressing m2, still more info than not running them. its just yknow, having counterplay is important to survivors isnt it? and nurse running slowdown is much less of a deal than her getting downs in under 20 seconds. like would you rather spend 10 more seconds on a gen with a living teammate or 10 seconds less down a teammate?

I definitely wouldn't use them anymore if that were the case. You spend most of the match blinking if you can't effectively see auras, and you miss out on a lot of auras, which means you will have to walk a lot of the time when using perks that are not on command aura reading.

It would honestly make aura reading perks zero fun to use since half the time, and you will miss important information or not get those few seconds that could have helped you find someone.

If they take away aura reading being used effectively, then I will not use aura reading. I would instead use slowdown because that change sounds like it will just force me to wait on blinks which means less time to be catching up to survivors.

It is debatable worse facing a killer with all slowdowns than one who uses aura reading because slowdown tends to turn losing games into winning games as one generator here used to be at 60% now its 0% or a 3 generator setup cannot be touched as the slowdowns are much too strong. If you effectively have zero slowdowns, you cannot delay survivors like you can with slowdowns and the amount you can delay with slowdowns is really big right now.

There is also already counterplay for it, simply by running distortion, but most people don't run that anymore; it's not like running iron will against spirits since these are perks you are going for, so it shouldn't be a problem running a perk that counters those perks if you so feel like it.

I'm sick of this, I'm not doing it any more. I cannot stand console killers, they always facecamp. ALWAYS. Stop forcing me to deal with this and give me an indicator that tells me if the killer is a console player.

    play with crossplay off.

  • Look I dislike eruption as much as the next person, but this is a bug fix not a shadow-buff or shadow-nerf, its a bug fix. Can we stop pretending like every little thing is some conspiracy, he is likely just overplaying it to cause outrage, which I don't really understand cause people already hate it a lot so its definitely getting nerfed next balance patch. Though still a bit of a bad move on his part, for promoting this kind of stuff using false information he made up. Even though clearly this was a bug fix to an already overperforming perk, you shouldn't rile people up for no good reason.

Oh here we go, nurse mains awaken to protect their precious guaranteed 4k's without needing to use any skill whatsoever in comparison to any other killer.

Jeez, dude, get over yourself. Way to go posting on a public forum and complaining when people post their opinions.

If you don't want to discuss this and want to have your little pity party for yourself, don't post in the first place and whine somewhere else with your like-minded friends. Real class act, I got to give you that.

It will never not be obnoxious when people come onto the forums and try to invalidate the people they are attacking in such a manner. Better invalidate them for no reason other than spite, it isn't that deep you are just salty. Get your head out of the clouds.

  • No, it's a bug. Even if you were exploiting, they don't ban people for exploits anymore.

  • If this build with Cenobites catches on, I think I will use Calm Spirit even though that slowdown while cleansing is going to suck. Until they make screaming not interrupt the box lol.

  • In my opinion, I think all the new survivor perks have their niches and im sure swf will be able to use Gambit it's good for swf to work on gens while looping killers, Potential Energy is good for 3 gens but is really niche, and Fogwise can be an issue for non-stealth killers, but as long as you bring the demo's perk mindbreaker (fearmonger), you will be fine.

As for whether they will be meta-changing? I don't think so, people will still use the new entrenched meta instead of these niche, but useful perks. If I had to say the best perk of the bunch I would say it is Gambit since it works with every killer, but Fogwise will destroy nonstealth killers, but I doubt many people will use it over the more meta perks.

I for one plan on trying alert, Fogwise, stake out, and hyperfocus so I always see the killer's aura if they don't have stealth perks and get gens fast lol though yeah fearmonger destroys Fogwise.

Maybe is not an unwinnable hellscape, but everyday i am seeing more and more how shockingly easy it is to lose a game while playing soloQ.

In every match, and i mean every match i feel this constant state where if one single survivors makes 1 or 2 early mistakes is more than enough for the killer to just snowball his way to a 4k effortlesly with no way to stop it.

And this is getting really stressful over time.

Solo q has always been bad. It's only worse now because of the inclusion of challenges and people too eager to give up. I don't know why people are suddenly bringing it up like it's new. It's always been the case since they removed infinities, double pallets, and reworked the worst maps. Like yeah, when flashlights made your eyes burn, I would say it went killers -> solo q -> SWF, but after all those buffs and the new base killer buffs and nerfs to shift w. It's been solo q -> killers -> SWF. So yeah, it's been the case for a while now.

The fist time i used the perk in a game the killer brought fearmonger. It hard countered it and I got absolutely 0 value from the perk.

I also went against a stealth killer and i also didn't get too much value from it.

I love the perk regardless though

Thank you I now know what to bring to counter this perk. That's so smart I didn't even think to use fear monger!

It is funny because killer mains seldom care about how survivors are the ones who usually get the worse when they change game mechanics. Turn around is fair play.

Why can't you find that same humor when a human does it to you?

Because people are a bit sucky. I mean, not everyone likes being bmed in games. It's not like the survivors are doing it to be friendly. While it's funny to see bots do it because they are bots, when people do it, it's only really done to be malicious. It's not really up to you to decide what is funny to someone and what isn't. Comedy is subjective humor is subjective.

Not everyone will have the same tolerance as you. When you are having a bad day, something as silly as someone trying to bm you in a game can be disheartening, to say the least, and leave you in a bad mood; it happens.

  • Another artist, but with a twist, ill be honest with you people just run away. Like my first match, all the survivors didn't play any loops. They just ran away right off the bat, running through everything and tossing down pallets which there were, no joke, 20+ pallets on that map. Trying to waste my time which worked, but it kinda unfun I didn't have much satisfaction downing them as well cause I was constantly worrying about the generators being worked on, and that was on a smaller side map. I don't wanna know what they will do on a larger map like red forest.

Though if you are fine playing the artist and the strategy, survivors use against you, then you will enjoy this killer, but personally, just knowing that is the counterplay kinda puts me off cause it is boring for me. I had to slug for the win at the end, and this killer has strong area defense.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

"So what is up with survivors lately? Why are they so easy to give up and easily ruin the game for their teammates?"

When you've had one too many awful solo games (read: any solo games) it's incredibly easy to see a pattern forming. A Nurse who's already proven herself to have range addons and the PR/DMS fun combo vs solos just isn't winnable, so you'll have more fun going next. Same with the proven Alch Crow Blight who's definitely got OverBrine if how he's been playing is any indication.

Now people that suicide 1st hook vs Sadako I have no idea about, but I'm also well aware that it could have nothing to do with the killer at all. If Meg decides to blow up the gen, urban evade away, and then hide in a Bush for 3 minutes while I get chased on the opposite side of the map, I know that I'm going to be absolutely malding and, again, it just isn't winnable with an anteammate like that. Same if someone sandbags me, especially if they do so early into the match.

Like, I get what you are saying, but being on the team against really strong killers, it just honestly sucks when someone gives up straight away. Leaving you in a 3v1 situation after they get downed cause they don't enjoy getting 1st downed is just silly. Sometimes games have unbearable killers, but I have had games where we have turned it around and won even though we didn't have good odds. Survivors who make matches harder and give up like they are entitled to an easy match are my least favorite thing in this game, and the sole reason for me, besides tunneling killers, it's one of the big reasons solo q is so much worse now.

  • My SWF makes me believe they don't like going against any killer lol. That's why I stopped caring a long time ago about what I play I don't care how you feel about playing as Nurse or how you feel about any killer whether you think it is unfair or not. It's fun for me, and that's what matters. People really need to stop getting on everyone's case about what they use or play and acting as if their opinion is a matter of fact when in fact, it doesn't really matter what they think.

  • It's way better than it used to be. For me, like playing back when ps4 had literally zero optimization, it was stuttery, the sensitivity was too low on all killers, and it crashed often, people will look back and be like, wow, it was such a great time and say I wish we could go back to before.

Honestly, old dbd was awful, at least for console players. I mean, to name something my main Nurse herself had so many bugs in her code that were really awful on top of everything, and it was only a recent bugfix that made her actually more playable.

Sure, games are a lot more difficult as it feels like everyone brings in the best things now, but at least it wasn't the buggy, unbalanced mess it was before; I rather play today's dbd with all the new killers and optimizations than old dbd even though today's dbd does need some new quality of life.

The game needs something that benefits both sides on the topic of camping/tunneling to make the game more enjoyable for both sides. Then some balancing to make weaker killers better, like trapper as an example, and much-needed reworks for twins to make them more fun to play.

Solo Q buffs that don't make bully squads stronger, preferably, and just make it so tunneling isn't the most optimal thing to do. Making generators not so disproportionally on one hand nearly impossible to do with so many gen regression perks and on the other hand not so easy to do when you don't have gen defense.

Then how about making the second Blink a Special Attack?

Nurse is really hard to get right (right now) it may take some trial and error... I hope that people can realize that and give it time

They also need to think of Console players when it comes to balancing... nothing for nothing but I wouldn't have played Nurse if I knew that eventually she would become unplayable for us (I play on Xbox)

yeah that's what really irritates me the most about these weird nerf to ground kind of balance posts like literally how am I supposed to keep playing as Nurse if her worst addon is there on top of the console issues I face all the time like I get ppl don't want me to play Nurse, but really..

  • @WeakestNurseMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3263997#Comment_3263997

Ez fix: remove Nurse's blinks, make her 120% movement speed with 8 stacks of STBFL basekit.

They should have just made the constantly screech spam from the can't blink bug back before they finally fixed it basekit as nobody would play Nurse if their eardrums explode.

  • This just reminds me of that one thread where I believe someone made a thread going swf swf solo swf or something or maybe it was an item and then afterwards someone made a thread of their least favorite killers. Either way kind of not the best threads if you really wanna discuss things.

  • Lerys, Coldwind, and Garden of Joy are so unfun. Garden of Joy because of the autoaim always seems to think bushes are people..

  • @WeakestNurseMain said:

I don't know where I heard this suggestion but I really liked it:

Give Nurse 5 blinks and both recharge add-ons basekit. BUT, reduce the range of her first blink to 12 meters, and every following blink travels 6 meters at max.

Maybe increase her movement speed to 100% so she can get around. But no matter how much you dress up her power, it'll always be both the strongest, and most unfun power to face unless you fully rework her.

I would rather that wasn't the case if im being honest, I kind of despised the extra blink addons as they were always meme addons in my opinion, so please don't make Nurse have to use 5 blinks to get around cause just imagining playing as Nurse and hearing the screeching sound 3x more as you try to get around is already annoying as it is. :c

A lot of these ideas are taken from various community members but have been thrown around so much that pinpointing who actually had the ideas first place is insanely difficult. I just picked the ideas that I liked the most to provide talking points for community discussion, since I feel like a lot of people either just really over-nerf Nurse or dont provide a good area for discussion (since it is either heavily one-sided or not civil discussion). The main points I picked just focus on reducing some strong areas and creating strong counterplay or ways of play for both sides but still allow people to discuss these ideas as well as talk about new and possible solutions towards balancing Nurse.

Well I genuinely appreciate this balanced outlook, because it's genuinely like something I think a lot of people can get behind besides I guess the more extreme people. As I am one of the people who is fine with any nerfs to the genuinely too strong aspects of Nurses kits and unfair perk combinations like starstruck. It was honestly a little disheartening to see how lopsided all these discussions were in the past and still are, so I'm glad there are people like you on the forum. Cause all the negativity is really not fun to interact with nevertheless discuss with in the first place.

  • I honestly agree, like I really hate like Pinhead, but I at least am willing to try to learn him and get better against him as well as just try to have an enjoyable time, but sadly my swf I play with are always super negative about every killer and I sadly don't really say anything about it cause well they are my friends, but yeah there is so much negativity over whatever main you choose that it's just dumb. People should be free to use whatever they want and play whatever they want it is very much a game for fun, but people take it too seriously, worst part about it is being around negative people tends to make you negative which honestly it has as I started to really dislike Wesker and Pinhead more and more because of how much my friends also dislike them. Which thankfully I realized and I try to have a better outlook on it instead of being a negative nancy.

  • Someone who can do a reasonable take that isn't just nerfing everything to the ground so much that Nurse is unplayable? I agree with all your changes honestly, these are all super reasonable so big props. I honestly genuinely haven't seen such a genuinely balanced take on something on the forums in so long lol. I don't even know whether I could give feedback cause all of these ideas are like perfect, where it removes the unfun aspects of going against Nurses and keeps the aspects that make Nurse unique.

I was really tired of seeing people come up with ideas on making Nurse more your average killer, removing a blink, nerfing her remaining good addons to the ground, stuff like that. Where it just genuinely is just trying to make Nurse into a rework Freddy situation. I guess the only issue is that like GrimReaper was saying special attacks also mean less perks work with Nurse meaning less variation, but I personally only use info perks and Shadowborn so I can't really say much on it so I wont.

distortion has a limit with tokens, kicking gens has no limit u can kick gens as much as u want becasue survivors have to do them. every aura reading perk is overpowered on Nurse, you cant react or counter a nurse that blinks inside of you you get hit and there is nothing you can do, is broken and nurse should never have the chance to see auras NEVER or at least not when she is about and using her M2, if she is walking Ok if she is charging immediately should turn off. Dont ask for for complicated stuff that only apply for extremely experienced players that result to be 1% of the player base at most basically the top creame of the SWF. is not just do this or just do that is easy to say that when you have that many hours in the game but then you go play with aura perks and win 90%+ of your games with aura reading on Nurse because is broken.

Distortion after the update has no limit you usually have distortion active all game unless you never take the opportunity to leave the area while the killer has an active aura showing perk like undying dull totems and awakened awareness lol. If you just sit in active reads then of course you won't have tokens everyone who says they will run out is just the silliest thing ever. You do realize you can run while revealed as you do not have scratch marks while a token is used up right? You don't need to sit in one corner the entire time and if anything the duration just needs to be lowered.

I also understand what you mean.

But for Nurse, being able to see the aura also means she can attack at any time.

I use nurse too, but the aura is too powerful.

    It's unreasonable.

It literally is in ptb and you guys are saying its op already I want to see more on it before I go ohmygosh its super busted, because half the time I play Nurse I do not kick generators.

  • I highly doubt that it will be game-changing on Nurse, simply leave the area, sure it harms survivors who hide all the time, but if you really are complaining just use distortion then you never need to worry about aura reading perks in the first place. Do not nerf strategies just because you think they are op because you are too lazy to bring your own counters. Heck, even awakened awareness is easy to deny information to without distortion all you need to do is make sure the Nurse has to hook facing away from your direction, and as soon as she looks away to hook, move to a different spot to mislead her into wasting her time, be outside of her terror radius as it the same range I believe, or just simply run distortion.

I'm sorry, but the people complaining about this being too strong on Nurse have no concept of what is and isn't overpowered, the only perk that is definitely much too strong is starstruck every other perk on her is fine, and fair as aura perks, in general, are a difficult perk selection to choose as sometimes you can get zero value from it. Also if you don't believe me that aura perks can mislead killers then you have never simply double-backed after realizing the killer had bbq it is literally not that hard to give bad information on an information-dependent killer.

The biggest improvement solo queue needs is for survivors to stop giving up the second things don't go their way, thus ruining the game for their other 3 teammates. You can't patch out entitlement.

Yeah, but adding more hud options would be a significant step for the people who play normally. I doubt that any fix whatsoever would make people trolling or ruining matches stop; I can't even think of any way or feature to make it happen, maybe adding a kick system where a survivor can kick out a survivor if they see them trolling and replace the person with a bot. Still, even then, that seems too much, as I can see a swf team abusing a feature like that. Though dc bots would be amazing honestly, like idc if it's a dumb bot, any bots would be great. :)

(Plus it would be funny seeing threads of people saying that after a bunch of people dced the bots beat them up, that would be hilarious.)

  • I would love more hud icons, like repairing generators, healing, searching a chest, cleansing totem, etc. Like it is not as extreme as adding kindred, I would surely use it all the time to know what my teammates are up to. Some people said it wouldn't work as teammates wouldn't look at it, but I think it's a great way, without being too extreme, to help out solo q.

  • I don't know what consumer Nurse means, but it's because that Nurse is relatively new or just having an off day, which happens to most people. Nurses' ability can be a hit or miss sometimes, with some games going perfectly and then all of a sudden, the next is full of misses. My first game as a Nurse is typically my worst, and as I play more, it gets better as I don't have time to play every day, so I am often out of practice.

  • Thank you all, I'm lacking creativity and just don't know what I want to use anymore, so I appreciate all the cool builds I don't really like doing a randomizer as it's pretty mediocre so I hope you don't mind me stealing ideas lol it's nice seeing all the builds as I definitely can see myself trying out a lot of them.

I don't mind tunneling so long as killer gives opportunity to reset. I mean technically it's still tunneling, but that's OK for me personally

Same, I hate when they do it off the bat to my friends or me, as I'm not competitive in survivor and just wanna mess around with my friends. So it sucks when everyone is in a bad mood and, even worse, feeling like you can't help your friend out, though if it's close to the endgame is fair enough. Yeah, leaving everyone slugged and tunneling right off the bat in a game is just awful. What ideas do you have to make the game a bit more fun if you mind me asking I'm curious if you have any ideas I myself don't really know what can be done to deter killers from doing it.

  • @Gandor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3244125#Comment_3244125

Exactly. And yet camping and tunneling is "valid tactics". Remove both. Even tho it would be harder to distinguish between bully squad and legit plays

That's the problem, isn't it? Unfun playstyles aren't likely to ever go away for either side, and it's way too hard to balance niche perks in a way that they are suitable for both sides, not too strong and not too weak. It often causes mediocre perks to release, like boon: a dark theory that very much was released so weak due to fears it would be abused if they made it stronger.

There are tons of perks out there that are just better to use in an SWF, like head-on as a prime example which is why you often see teams of all using head-on because even though it's a bad perk, normally, when they can force flashlight saves it becomes a very fun and useful tool to use against killers, but often creates miserable matches for the said killer.

I wish there were a way to make it a healthy balance, but ever since the boil-over incident, I don't see how they can balance it, as there are always going to be cases where unfun playstyles come out. Now I would say boil-over still is a bad perk, it will never be a good perk unless they were able to give it a buff, but the buff has to be something that won't make it as bad when facing bully squads.

Although I think slugging and tunneling is a bit tricky as sometimes it is fine to use, like when all the survivors go out of their way to fall into your hands, and sometimes a survivor just is unlucky getting caught repairing a generator after a hook or 1-2 gens left which I feel is very much fine to tunnel in as you need a survivor out asap then typically there is a bit of nuance to it. Though tunneling at the start of the game is boring and slugging all survivors all the time without hooking anyone is dreadfully boring, and both should be removed.

  • I wish they gave us something on par with the old legacy I don't care a purple glowy effect of the bloody skins would have been so cool. What we got is only really for streamers, and that part is the part I really don't care for, because we did put in the effort many of us spend millions of bloodpoints on characters and im not going to lie I wish we had more glowy effect killer skins.

  • It says on the perk you have to be empty handed to use it, you are holding a medkit so it wont activate.

And yet, those games usually end up in 4k. They don't do gens. They loose a lot. It's tactics that won't get you anywhere

Just because you win in the end doesn't make it fun. I wish there were a give-up button after a certain amount of time, like rainbow six's surrender as a bad example of how it might work or whatever, lol because I instead I wanna play normally, than play in a match where people are using gimmick builds to troll you like a trapper or any killers who can't do much against it. Is there a point in winning if it wasn't fun for you, that's why we play games, isn't it? To have fun.

Yes. That is intended. And yet you rarely see those perks. Maybe it's because it's such a huge perk investment that does not really pay out

That doesn't mean we should make lose-lose situations more easily accessible. I mean, yes, they are niche perks. Still, once they become easier to use and more accessible perk investment, it creates situations like the boil-over buff where there will be dedicated survivor teams aiming to create the most unfun gimmick builds to face, not even trying to win, just trying to be as annoying as possible lol. The only reason that people don't use those perks is that it's way easier and better off using other niche perks to create those situations. I see more head-on 4 flashlight locker animation locking SWFs than teams using that kind of build. Could you imagine if most survivor teams used those bully builds, it would be so unfun playing lower-tier killers; I'm just glad that most of the time when I'm facing them, I am playing killers who cancel out those situations like pyramid head at least to some degree.

The top 5% of MMR isn't invalid (and the Nurses in that MMR aren't new either) and neither is the playing experience of new players. Players in all MMR ranges need to be considered; not individuals.

Also, if we're going to balance Nurse around SupaAlf why can't we balance survivors around Hens? The reason is it wouldn't be fair but you can't say it's okay in this situation since it benefits me but it's not okay in this situation because it would hurt me.

Perfectly put, honestly what you said just was perfect I suck with putting such things into words so clearly so I appreciate this a whole lot.
