Flat-out having two pure M1 killers would be too strong, but I do like the idea of a killer whose power is some kind of utility support that can provide pressure, scouting or in-loop assistance.

Like a poltergeist being able to throw a pallet, or scream to incapacitate survivors so they can't work on gens for a while.

I suppose its just wishful thinking, but honestly, I wouldn't mind having a killer like the twins except one of the players plays a weak m1 killer while the other is a base m1 killer of course you would have to put lots of counters, but honestly I would love a teammate to plan things with. :)

  • @Angelicus23 said:

Because a perk is very good against 1/25 killers or by the sole reason that they are getting a fair counterplay you dont need to nerf it.

should we then also nerf the perk calm spirit for clown, doctor and the cenobite?

ehhhh iron will is good against every killer don't know why you think it only works against spirit lol.

That sounds like a normal game actually. If this keeps happening to you like 4 games in a row I would understand, but if this happens once a night then thats to be expected to match against gods. Anyway I always find people try to use his chainsaw far to often, especially around loops. I play as an m1 until they leave the loop, then I chainsaw while they are out in the open. Thats their death sentence when I play him.

The problem is this is most games, this one was more noticeable because it was a super coordinated team, I just feel like I cant really do anything besides constantly breaking pallets against survivors who play it super safely meaning they didn't run into the corn and just ran tiles into tiles and delay as much time as possible each chase.

    Here's an easy solution...

Play another killer. Since the nerfs, Billy is trash. Nurse is the better option.

Billy used to be my third go-to killer, I just feel sad that I cant seem to use him as well as I used to. The nurse will forever be my main, but I just feel like I should use billy every now and again, even if his mmr is nearly as high as my Nurse because I kind of miss playing as him. :(

  • you guys didn't really have to do that to him.. like why didn't you just explain why it's wrong.. I'm actually kind of sad I liked Karu he doesn't deserve this. :(

I did notice that once when a survivor healed a downed survivor as trickster. Knives were clearly hitting her face but it still didnt connect xD Was pretty confused for the moment

Yeah, that's a problem that most killers face, for some reason survivors' hitboxes are super small while healing which creates moments where you can hit them point-blank or throw a hatchet at them and it misses. It's so weird, some examples honestly make the small hitboxes feel worse than others, from what I understand the secret to how the hitboxes get so small is that when you crouch as a survivor while healing a downed survivor it halves your hitbox creating situations where the killer is hitting you, but your hitbox is invisible.

  • To be honest I only really notice the hitboxes being bad when trying to hit a survivor healing a downed survivor, playing as huntress is a 50/50 on whether the hatches will hit a square hitbox or miss like it has a super small hitbox even if you hit them dead on. (Though that's most ranged killers at this point.)

The other time is when I desync from the server, which happens a lot to people sometimes, no matter how good your internet is there will be moments where you get server desync and things just go bad for you. Other than that it's mainly latency issues on the server or the players.

I think they should have something done to make them more consistent especially the ranged killers, but I wouldn't know what to do to fix those things if I am being honest.

I love the whole vibe and idea of blood pact, however it's frustrating because it's way more reliable and beneficial to run Aftercare, bond, or empathy.

And the funny thing is, it only requires VERY simple changes to become viable.

    1. Allow you and the obsession to see each other's auras when at full health.
    2. Remove the healing requirement in order to activate the bonus effect. (Basically, you get the haste effect when being near the obsession, without having to heal them. Sticking together is very inefficient and dangerous against certain killers, therefore i think having the haste within 16metres, without the healing condition is fine.

Another suggestion, which i won't add to the two main ones above (because it seems like it could break the perk maybe?) is making it so the perk is still usable when you are the obsession.

Any thoughts? I feel like people will disagree with the proximity haste boost, however, it still is very situational. It will only work with ONE specific survivor (the obsession) and it promotes you sticking with a teammate, which is very inefficient when trying to get gens done.

I do kind of wish there were more benefits because this perk is only really good with swf because solos arent always going to know what you are doing. Then again that's most perks in this game at this point, bad for solo, better for swf.

at least blight has some sort of counterplay compared to spirit and nurse, he can be fun at times as long as he doesnt run the generic basic carry bad blights build, with compound or ring, or double speed he can be fun to go against yes, also you dont see him that often, at least myself. for me is 3 nurses in a row, twice the same player, then spirit, then maybe something else if i lose the spirit game and then nurse again if i win agaisnt the diferent killer, you have no idea how much fun ive been having (im being sarcastic, sadly i have to clarify it, lots of dumbos out here unable to catch sarcasm)

lose against killer = killer is unfair I see lol.

Nurse can easily hit you before you can Dead Hard if they just hit right away, like they're spamming the button.

May I introduce to you the Nurse attack bug, where after blinking you must wait a second before you can hit.

  • Honestly, all I want out of making threads like this is just for at least the bugs to be fixed, but no matter how many times any Nurses tell the developers it honestly feels like nothing is getting to them, that's probably my biggest issue, because I just want the bugs to stop being every game. I would just be satisfied with that, honestly because even if Nurse-only has a history of getting nerfed at least the bugs would be gone, which would make me so happy.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Nurse is an odd one. She's relatively weak until the player is good with her. But "good" with Nurse is also relative to the survivors she's facing, because her chase mechanics are entirely unique on the survivor side. A good Nurse will struggle against players who practice against Nurse all the time. And survivors who have little to no practice beyond "double back at corners" will get demolished by even an average Nurse.

Ohmygosh exactly! I appreciate this input because it feels like most people don't seem to realize this so thank you so much, I was honestly just thinking I was going to get the same old input people as usual when I make a thread like this, but this is a perfect analogy.

I've only played this game for 5 months so im just thinking of the now. High skilled nurse players are very strong and i think blight has a really good power and really good add-ons. Stronger than the average killers.

If Nurse gets nerfed again I legitimately am just not going to deal with it, what Nurse needs isn't Nerfs it's QoL improvement, let's be honest here the only people that play Nurse now are old players who have stuck with Nurse for a long time.

The Nurse is hard enough when you are learning her, because the rework has made her basekit frustrating to use as a beginner. She is barely accessible and the matches are heavily in favor of the survivors, so typically new players have to play a lot to even begin to figure out her because it's hard to learn a killer when you consistently get stomped.

To learn nurse you basically need to relearn everything, because Nurse is nothing like the other killers think of it like playing huntress, because there are some things they share, so if you play huntress chances are you will recognize some of Nurse's weaknesses right away.

People want to pretend that the killer has no counterplay and is just an instant win every game, but it's honestly more focused on how the survivors play that makes it or breaks it for the match. If you and your team aren't knowledgeable about the weaknesses of a Nurse, chances are a good Nurse is going to destroy you and your team. The people I play against who actually play Nurse do the best against her because they know what works against her.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I've never lost any, but i never got those event cosmetics that got awarded to everyone, the ones with the huntress wolf mask. So i contacted support and they added them all.

I lost several streamer exclusive killer skins, which is a big loss because those are really really rare and now I lost mine. :c

  • I honestly kind of like it is the same color, because it adds more value to an otherwise just decent perk, though I have to admit the undetectable is so useful sometimes. :)

tbh only new killers are eating that dead hard after bt save thing, an experienced killer always gets that trade.

You would be surprised, most killers don't expect it since they believe they can get the hit before you dead hard, since typically unhooking leaves the unhooker in the open. Its all a matter of timing it I suppose.

Sprint Burst is stronger and this is not even a discussion IMO. Sprint Burst makes every area safe, this is not the case with Dead Hard. You can be in the biggest Deadzone, DH does exactly nothing, Sprint Burst means you are safe. Let alone that it is more frustrating to see Survivors sit on a Gen until the very last second, just to see them zoom off without any risk at all.

When Balanced Landing got nerfed, the players replaced it with DH or Sprint Burst (and some probably with Lithe), if DH gets nerfed, there would be so many Sprint Bursts, it would not be funny at all.

Maybe I am just biased since I play Nurse, but I have never really had any problem with sprint burst players since typically I can catch them even with sprint burst especially since most sprint bursters run in a straight line, I can understand low mobility killers like trapper would have more trouble with them though.

I guess I am on team dead hard then because I really love how much use you can get out of it I would much rather use dead hard over sprint burst any day. Though I do agree that sprint burst is useful at times, I feel much much safer using dead hard.

  • My favorite thing is all the different characters, perks, addons make the game amazing to me.

My least favorite thing is the community same as many other people, so you can probably already guess why that is.

  • I mean dead hard is arguably more powerful and useful in situations since it's on-demand while you have to do some setup with sprint burst to make it on demand. Also even if dead hard gets nerfed let's be honest both were meta perks before and the only reason people use sprint burst less is that dead hard can give more value a lot of the time, especially in cases where you are injured unhook the survivor with borrowed time and dead hard through them, saving both you and the other survivor, you can't do that with sprint burst.

  • Good work!

(Though Nurse is a she not a he just thought I should mention it.)

Because, there's a precedent against what you're claiming. Look no further than the community surrounding Super Smash Bros., where the entire community has the power to make the rules, and the developers do not whatsoever.

In many games, players can actually decide what is fair and what isn't fair in a game, and one of two things often happens with that. One, and most common nowadays, the unfair thing is patched out to be more fair. Two, and this is what occurs when games can't be patched, the unfair thing in question is often times banned.

The developers of Dead by Daylight should hold little to no weight in deciding what is or isn't fair for the game. The community is the one that should be deciding these based on any and all factors and evidence involved.

What is considered fair and unfair by the developers is often times moot to the reality, as the developers only look to one part of the spectrum and not the other parts of it, and thus they don't get a legitimately clear picture of what is or isn't fair unless it was just an unintended bug or glitch that occurs because of their mistakes.

When the community can agree on whether something is fair or not is what should matter, and it's what creates an actual competitive philosophy that can be followed by everyone.

Basically, who decides what's fair in a competitive game should be its community. So it's time you and everyone here rip any semblance of power you give the developers and start making your own choices. You do not need your parents (in this case, the developers) to tell you what is or isn't fair. Make your own decisions, make a competitive philosophy and make an actual ruleset that is both neutral and can be followed by most of the community.

All it takes is getting knowledgeable people into a backroom and setting the rules based on next-to-pure neutrality, reasoning and evidence.

That's how other games have done it, that's how games should continue to do it. Giving any value to the developers on whether or not something is fair in a game only makes things harder for everyone involved.

Thank you, you said that way better than I could have, I really appreciate your input and your well thought out response.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2543149#Comment_2543149

But they did put that in the rules. I'm also not saying stretched res is OK, which you'd know if you'd read what I wrote.

But you are saying it's okay if it's not explicitly stated to be cheating in the rules your point is as long as the developers don't say it's cheating it's not cheating, so if there is something in the game that offers an unfair advantage to a small number of players to let them benefit from and heavily skews the balance towards them, it's okay for them to continue using that even if it wasn't intended in the first place.

Whether you like it or not what you said is implying that you are okay with these exploits as long as it wasn't said in the rules, that it's cheating, so if hacks weren't in the rules that would make it okay to use against other players. It's a silly argument to make that player shouldn't be able to point out unintended things and call them out as being cheating and it's incidentally defending all these other things and the only thing you are doing is allowing people justification to use these things, just because it's not officially stated by the devs.

And no I wouldn't know that because honestly the way you are saying these things just makes it confusing and muddled, not trying to be rude, but this is what I am getting from you because that is how you stated it.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2543145#Comment_2543145

No, you just learned that the developers are the ones who decide what is or isn't allowed in a game. Using those scripts, for instance, is not allowed.

But what if they didn't say it's cheating in the rules? Is it okay then?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2543108#Comment_2543108

There's one group of people who makes the rules: the developers. We players have no ability to proclaim something is cheating. That's just how games work: they make it and set all the rules, we play it. Therefore, whether or not I, personally, would consider it cheating is irrelevant to whether or not it is cheating, and no argument based on dictionary definitions is going to change that.

Think about it: who decides what's fair in a game? The devs do. So why would our opinions on what's fair be relevant?

    Okay?

I guess today I learned that cheating is okay if it's not officially stated within the rules. Can't wait to go download hacks and start cheating right away thank you very much.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2543086#Comment_2543086

I think it's easy to claim stuff with no proof.

just because it's not bannable -yet- doesn't mean you should be out here saying people should keep using it.

It's a good thing I'm not, then. All I'm saying is that there has been no official statement by the devs that it is, in fact, cheating. I don't like it, but that's the truth: the devs have not said that stretched res is cheating, and to claim otherwise is spreading false information.

But it is cheating? If you really think this isn't just blatant cheating, here the literal definition of cheating is "act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination." The stretched resolution gives an unfair advantage to a few players that wasn't intended at all.

Also at least give me reasons why you think it isn't the case or anything instead of just constantly refuting everything without even explaining why. Because all you are doing is allowing people to think that it's Okie Doki to use stretched resolution, same as the people who defended mods that made traps super visible it's why this is so frustrating honestly clearly this is cheating you are only fueling the people who use this exploit.

Like do you want me to wait until the October stream where they explicitly reply to a question that asks if it's cheating to come back and tell you I told you so? Like I see no other way this is going to go when clearly they have declared similar things like the mod thing as cheating and clearly this is the same situation.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2543059#Comment_2543059

That's beside the point. The devs decide what is or isn't allowed, not players. So when someone asks is X is cheating, an official statement is required, not the opinions of players.

    x-x.PNG

Tell me what you think of this then, there are literally zero fog whisperers defending stretched resolution some are saying the devs explicitly stated not to use it. The others are just flat out saying it's an exploit, that should be more than enough evidence that it shouldn't be used, just because it's not bannable -yet- doesn't mean you should be out here saying people should keep using it. Because what you are saying is just neutrality on it, when there is evidence to the contrary, why keep letting other players think just because an official statement isn't out yet that they can continue doing this exploit that's been out there for years.

It's like saying people using mods to make trappers trap visible should still be able to do that since no official statement yet, like all the signs are showing that this is an exploit that shouldn't be the case at all.

  • @jokere98 said:

just one question. if it isn't cheating, why did the devs forbid fog whisperers to use stretched resolution?

It's true, not sure if I can show it in the forums though, is it against forum rules to show a youtube message of a reply?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2543031#Comment_2543031

Unless that video contains a statement by a developer, that's just another player's opinion, which is irrelevant.

The developers haven't commented on stretched resolution ever I don't think, but honestly, you think they are going to allow this lol, after what they did to the people abusing mods to gain visual advantages? Of course, they are going to say this is broken it was never intended to be in the game in the first place.

People don't use stretched resolution because it's "perfectly fine" they use it to get an unfair advantage, basically, the same people who modded in things to give them an advantage. Honestly a bit disappointed that you are here defending these exploit abusers the stretching of the screen was never intended in the first place to happen just another bug people use to gain advantages over others, you think that being able to do this is fair?

Looking for players who like having fun more than just surviving. I like to joke around and ppl who will do the same. I’m a decent looper and play more for others living than me. Don’t care if your new or have been playing for awhile I enjoy helping newer people out. I use mic but might take a few games to warm up to ppl Convict-Inc is the tag

I like to have fun, but I only really play at night sometimes because I'm busy most of the time and another thing is I am US Central, so we might not be close enough so my ping might be bad unless you live close by. If those things are okie doki for you, then ill add you and we can play sometime.

  • Honestly just play however you want, don't be constricted to play nice or how other people want you to play, that's just the simple answer.

For me, though I used to have this positive view like try to play as fair as possible, but I watched this TTV streamer I played against because I enjoy watching survivor pov in my matches and because I didn't hand them the match they pointed out to their swf that I was using crutch perks because I don't know how to play the game without them, saying discordance, thana, corrupt, and blood echo on plague were because I'm bad even though they were all using meta perks. Who complains about these perks, like the only meta perk there is corrupt and that is plagues base perk of course I'm going to run it.

It just stuck with me, it was a few days ago and honestly, I am kind of done with the whole play to keep people happy bit, as much as I loved seeing people happy with how I played, most people are only happy if you go out of your way to throw the game and let them go that's just how it is. Even playing as a survivor to any killer play how you want, I honestly don't mind if I get tunneled or facecamped like that's just how done I am with the whole play by other people's rules lol.

  • I mean I feel like this is a needed change to a perk that barely gets used, the exhausting effect is active all the time ever since they changed it and it still isn't that useful. I feel like the blindness effect being added will significantly help this perk to do more and be more useful to the killer, making it a much better pick.

I feel like people put too much emphasis on exhaustion perks, as well you make it sound like survivors who don't use exhaustion perks are useless, but it only really depends on how well you run loops, etc. I have seen people with exhaustion perks get downed within seconds because they don't know how to run tiles, while me running a gimmicky build and actual run tiles well without exhaustion perks.

The blindness effect doesn't turn off sounds, you will hear the survivor across the map as they are getting hooked, then you will need to walk for 5 seconds then you see the aura, I don't see the problem. Honestly, it seems like you moreso have a problem with a solo survivor in general because the problems you are stating are mostly just bad cooperation between survivors without comms.

The buff to the perk is fine as is and it isn't particularly powerful even with the new buff, blindness status effect only really works on survivors who don't have a full grasp of what is happening.

  • I swear whenever I want to play hillbilly I get indoor maps and whenever I want to play Nurse I get corn maps, it's the worst lol.

Oh okay. Hopefully it can get fixed at sone point, but considering it's not known what triggers it, that's pretty rough

I wanted to be hopefull that it will randomly be fixed in one of these updates, but people who play Nurse have been complaining about this bug for years, so most people have given up that it's ever going to be fixed. I am still hoping maybe just maybe in a patch note that they fix it.

You should clarify your reason as to stopping than confusing everyone.

The old generation consoles, especially if it's a standard PS4 and Xbox one can't play DBD on the new graphics. They are just too outdated and need the old graphics back to work properly.

At the same time, while I obviously don't know your reasons or financial situation in your personal life, the regular PlayStation 4 which I assume you're playing on is nearly 10 years old. In the world of gaming, and technology, your PlayStation is ancient, and it will struggle to go on as games move ever forward.

    This is the way.

If they added cross-progression this wouldn't be as much of a problem, I have no interest in getting a ps5 and the only real way I would upgrade to PC is if cross-progression was a thing which it isn't yet.

  • The bug itself has been reported already so many times that many Nurse players have just given up hope that it's ever getting fixed, I honestly believe that maybe just maybe if I continue bringing it up they will do something about it. At the moment I don't think they even ever mentioned it in anything, so chances are they don't know how to fix it or just don't care enough.

The thing that makes me the saddest is that when Nurse was getting a rework they didn't fix the bug and honestly the blink bug is more annoying than ever before and it is so much more common now.

  • Sorry, I thought most people already knew about this bug, it's pretty ancient and has been in the game for as long as I can remember. I suppose most people who don't play as much Nurse, don't know that it's a thing, but the easiest way to explain is to show you what this bug is.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiBX-5luj4k

So basically what this bug does is it spams the blinking noise (never sure if its exclusively for the Nurse or the survivors hear the noise as well? I rarely play against Nurses so I wouldn't know.) and you cannot use your second blink sometimes you can't even use blinks at all it can mess up chase it's as detrimental as can be to Nurse. Hope this made sense that's just the simplified version of what the bug does I'm sure someone has a more in-depth explanation somewhere.

The bug itself can appear multiple times in one game, can last the entire game, and will strike randomly I have no idea what triggers it all I know is that it happens more and more frequently for some reason in my past few games. To Nurse players the only way I have noticed besides waiting is opening lockers sometimes makes the bug go away or picking up survivors, but sometimes that doesn't work.

  • I know I will try not to expect too much from them, I know it's kind of difficult especially considering how different sony and steam are, though maybe if they make it work with switch it is possible. Thanks again.

Right now cross-progression is only available right now for Stadia and Steam... Other platforms aside from Switch (no ETA, but it is going to happen in the future) are still up in the air, I'm afraid that's all the information I have.

Ohmygosh really?! Thank you for this information, it makes me hopeful that sometime in the future that it will be possible I was afraid it was forever going to be only between stadia and steam. So I do hope that eventually, they let PlayStation players cross to PC as well thanks for replying. :)
