I agree, but like I said in another post, killers have the ability to break pallets and even get a one hit on the survivor if they have the right build. I think Bloodlust all around is still the most crutch mechanic in this game.
Bloodlust is still a needed mechanic though because some loops are just atrocious especially car loops or extremely safe tiles. If bloodlust wasn't a mechanic people would just stick to killers who have high chase potential such as Nurse, Spirit, and Blight.
I know you hate bloodlust, but without it, most killers with low chase potential would just get screwed over by rng strong loops and tiles. This already happens even with bloodlust mechanics all you really need is a survivor who knows how to run such tiles.
-
Matchbox is fun especially paired with Jenner, but Spasmodic isn't that fun to use it just feels so limiting and essentially turns you into an m1 killer without an ability. Kind of like Huntress's one addon where she is out of hatchets, but even more limiting, it triggers at the worst times and you only really get value out of it sometimes it's just not fun to use at all.
If you had more of a way to trigger like some input on when it is used other than just hitting a blink attack maybe it would be useful, but rn I don't see it ever being that fun except for the people who enjoy playing m1 killers without an ability lamo.

People want a meta shake-up. They just don't want their meta shook up.
i wish they just tweaked some of the things like the downed recovery time and made healing others better using medkits then this update would be great and maybe tweak the healing slowdown perks on the killer side without absolutely butchering them.
-
i thought people were saying this change wouldnt be beneifical to use even without hearing problems. this just sounds like basekit spinechill, which I can't really test it out yet since I am on ps4, but it does sound really really great. though i feel bad for sadako and freddy it's got to suck for them.
-
It's silly and shouldn't have happened.
-
Thank goodness, ill open the door for you on the way out.
(Then lock the door.)

You do realize that this feature doesn't even work half the time, even then with it being gone it's not really a buff cause in general play very few people seriously try to light-burn a Nurse as it is just very difficult to do so. You only really see this kind of attempt in comp and I highly doubt you are a comp player.
Yes, it is a shame to lose out on specific interactions like this, but at the end of the day, it's a dated mechanic with very few people actually knowing about it in the first place nevertheless attempting it. If Nurse becomes too strong they will nerf her in other ways, but I generally win most of my matches against Nurses these days so I doubt they are really overperforming. There is a reason why in competitive blight is played more because blight is just way more consistent.
At the end of the day, this change will not do anything to you and will not affect you unless you are a competitive player even then Nurse isn't seen as often as other killers, and even then how many times do you bring a flashlight to get light burns? I would understand if this was something built into her kit to counter her, but it was a gimmick that they added in a long time ago to try to reduce her strength which was rarely used and rarely seen against her.
This will come and pass just like the hysteria from the Jenner addon that supposedly buffed her. Half the time people make these OMG you buffed this killer, they make this claim that this will ultimately change everything, but at the end of the day it doesn't really change anything and gets forgotten a week after it goes live. Like the OMGG 5 blink Nurse back omg omg buffed Nurse??? It's just annoying at this point lol.

Welcome to gen rush meta.
We will see Killer players crying a monsoon of tears right before the 7 year anniversary. :)
ngl that's some seriously wacky stuff right there, maybe take a break from the game if you feel so seriously for a perk being slightly changed.

Yes please I just want to see the sprint burst meta, so many people were warning about, sprint burst isn't annoying for me, I would gladly take that than a dead hard meta lol.

You can now get a token of DH and it won't deactivate if you fail to DH.
DH is not dead but toned down and buffed for people who struggle getting any value out of it.
It still looks usable, but I look forward to not having to worry about it as much especially since people won't uses it as much for the first while. I feel like now it won't be as bad and it will still have a niche place, but wont be meta anymore.
-
DH is the most unfun perk to go against for the killer side, it's overused and overstayed its welcome in the meta for many years, to not understand why people hate the most overused perk that you see at least 2-3 of every game is simply silly considering how many people get mad about cob and other highly used killer perks.
People can wait it out, but not when they are on the pallet because its latency based you can time it perfectly and still hit dh, there are also other moments where had they not been using dead hard you could have gotten a survivor, specific instances where you cannot afford to just wait it out. Sure not every run-of-the-mill survivor can use dead hard now, but it doesn't mean it is bad if you or someone else you know cant trigger dead hard ever. If it was bad then no survivor would use it, it's similar to what people used to excuse old dead hards strength. Since I can't use it then it must be bad or in a good spot.
The actually smart people who use dead hard don't run at the killer hoping they swing they use it on pallets, while the killer's power is being telegraphed, and when they know the killer can't afford to not swing like making a mad dash to the exit gates when their bt runs out and the killer if they get that hit they get downed and can get out, but dead hard gives them that brief window to escape where otherwise they wouldn't have. This perk may not be that strong to you, and to your credit, it isn't as bad as it used to be, but it's still not enjoyable to see every game, because it makes it so killers have fewer options even when survivors don't have it in play this perk works. It's just that all-encompassing.
Literally, no perk has this amount of impact on the game, NOED used to in a way with most survivors calling out NOED if the killer is even remotely bad lol, but since it's become less used and easier to find survivors do not do all 5 totems to get it. I would literally trade any other good killer perk just for the removal of dead hard because it makes me sigh every time I see it now, I used to use it all the time like the older older dead hard when people said sprint burst was better cause it didn't leave you on the ground exhausted, but seeing it every game for years when it rose in popularity it just made me despise this perk it's not fun for the other side it's not fair to killers who have super telegraphed powers, it's just a meta perk that refuses to get out of the meta and will continue to remain the best exhaustion perk until they maybe consider just completely changing it.

I don’t mind since I don’t use it. I just want pop buffed again tbh
Imagine kicking gens.
Sponsored by Pain Res Club.

Always see at least 2+ in my games its not nearly as prevalant as before, but people have not stopped using it. All it really takes is for 1 dead hard or 2 to get hit which isn't really that difficult to do as you can just force it the majority of the time and many killers have really telegraphed powers.
I get that people think the perk is okay since they can't make use of it every game, but it's still the best exhaustion perk the people who doubt it is basically the same people who kept saying old dead hard wasnt that good cause they always ended up exhausted on the ground because they didn't know how to properly use the perk.

How many skins do I need to buy for them to care about Hillbilly?
I heard they are making a hillbilly cosplay for Feng, you could buy that and you get to play as hillbilly a win win.
-
Please have mercy I don't like playing against plagues. D:
-
i have been winning like 60%-70% of my games as a survivor which is way more than I used to before the update the majority of the time I lose due to people giving up, gens not being focused on, and just bad plays by randoms. im by no means someone who is a pro at this game just have been playing for a while, but I honestly think besides 3 gen meta making games take ages and really strong killers tunneling asap the game for survivor is way better than it used to be and even fun. Killer for me just doesn't feel fun to play as, genuinely have been enjoying survivor more and more lately and surviving with friends makes the experience even more fun.
-
I honestly wouldn't mind a brutal strength buff, it would be hilarious seeing a pallet-breaking wraith breaking pallets faster than the speed of light and it would only buff the killers that actually need it.
-
The first killer I wanted to play was Nurse, I sucked at it and it was quite terrible cause console at the time was so unoptimized, but I really liked the idea of a teleporting killer and I wanted to be a Nurse growing up. The second killer was huntress cause I really liked longshots, third was hillbilly, fourth was spirit, then I went back to just playing Huntress, Nurse, and Billy cause spirit just got unfun after the nerf just felt entirely different and I lost interest, im not sure why.
For survivor I wanted to play Meg, then I played as Feng, then I played as Yui, and now I currently play as Lisa Garland so I am now a double Nurse main.

I’d rather the occasional area denial killer as opposed to “They can move fast and cut off loops” for the 10th time
Sadly area denial killers are more often universally hated than move-fast and cut-off loops killers because of just how tedious the games can be. I am not saying most area denial killers play in a way like that, but it definitely promotes 3 gens and prolonging the game.
-
Only thing im looking forward to are the eruption changes, map changes, and haddie rework. otherwise it's honestly the most boring chapter we have seen in a while. i feel zero excitement whatsoever.
-
For real is the killswitch broken or do they seriously believe that this isn't broken enough like the lullaby thing should have seriously been killswitched as well as the knight bug. why they waited so long is a mystery, i can semi maybeee understand that it might just be that they don't think its as major. but that just makes me question how broken something must be to warrant a killswitch if this isn't broken enough.
-
If I had to guess, it would be their way of balancing the killer or something because I play a killer with like 3 good addons, and the rest are filler. I am definitely jealous of blights with how most of their addons are beneficial and actually good all around like there are 3 bad add-ons.

As someone who played on it quite a bit on both sides, even without Nostalgia I think it was a fun map
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and layout of the map and imo it was a nice break from all the same tiles you'd see in every other map. There were no jungle gyms, L wall T walls, long walls etc - every tile was unique in a certain way.
Don't get me wrong though, fun =/= well designed. If you want a modern comparison for the issues Hawkins had then midwich is basically like having two hawkins stacked on top of each other. It was horrendous for certain Killers like Huntress.
It had baked in 3 gen scenarios because of the guaranteed generator spawns that would be in the portal room and the drop down rooms. It even had the exit gate problem where the gates basically always favoured killer.
Yeah dont get me wrong the map definitely had the best atmosphere out of any map released, but yeah it just sucks how it was designed is what personally just made it one of my least favorite maps. Like I enjoyed playing on swamp and old Haddonfield more than Hawkins because it was one of the worst indoor maps you could get at the time and I also played a lot of billy during Hawkins so I think you can probably guess why it is still a map I really dislike.
-
It was pretty terrible to play on. I am willing to bet the majority of people saying they miss it and want it back are speaking out of a place of nostalgia because, in actual play, the map was pretty terrible and suffered from a lot of problems. Killers that were slower than average played badly on the map because of how some of the loops were. Certain killers that relied on collisions, like bubba and hillbilly were awful on that map. It was pretty much only really good as stealth killers and hag/trapper with all the sneaky trap placements.
For survivor it was okay, there were plenty of strong loops, but it was kind of difficult to find generators and in the current meta I would no doubt think it would be a really strong 3 gen map if a killer say the knight were on it making it pretty miserable to play. So it would not have faired well with the slowdown-gen kicking meta.
When the map initially left it left with a lot of people saying they were glad it was leaving because it was at the time the RPD of maps in dbd.

You have to be masochist to enjoy SoloQ survivor, or extremely casual player who are just messing around, and all cares about few chase here and there, dont want to think, just enjoy the predetermined game based on MMR RNG, which is favours killer mains. The matchmaking almost completely random, and its a team game, and if your random useless, then you lost from the start.
As killer if you are mediocre or even better good, then you can easily 3-4k most of your games, true there will be like 15-20% games at worst case which going against proper SWF but on other hand you can be sadist vs Solo teams, you really feel powerful for most of the time.
SoloQ survivor is enjoying the pain thats all there is to it
I would argue that playing killer is also genuinely boring since you only see the same perks being run against you all the time, and gens go faster than they ever did before. SWF makes the game for survivor fun, and solo q isn't very fun at the moment cause of tunneling/dcers/ppl giving up, being way more common.
Though to say killer is easy is strange because on matches where people don't give up or dc when they figure out the killer is someone they dislike, the generators always get done incredibly fast, especially when you aren't playing as killers that have big snowball potential because when I play killers that I don't play as much as my main I always get the same survivors that I do when I play my main and the matches are usually just unbearably unfun.
Playing killer you have to run slowdown unless you are somehow a god player who can go up against really strong teams with no means of slowing down gens a little. Even as the top-tier killers no matter how fast my chases are I usually just get stuck at the end if they get gens done super fast it's why I stopped using aura reading only. You also go against the same perks al the time over and over and over making it incredibly dull, think genkick meta kind of boring for survivor, but you get this with perks like adrenaline and dead hard they rush gens because the have adrenaline its as simple as that. For survivor you go against unfun playstyles over and over tunneling, bad teammates, slowdown heavy killers who just 3 gen for 20 minutes until either you are all dead or you slowly get all the gens done. Teammates who give up constantly or dc if it's a killer they hate.
Both sides are very miserable to play for the general playerbase I would say.

There is no point using a perk that's meant to mute noise if it DOESN'T actually mute noise. I still hear iron wills when I play killer.
But it is way quieter, I have literally stealthed killers even with the 75%; it has also been tested before as spirit as people said now that iron will isn't 100% it can't work on Spirit, but it makes it way harder to know where you are even on Spirit an audio-focused killer. It may not be 100% anymore, but it still is really really good for stealth builds and nonexhaustion builds.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
It's useless. The radius is small, the duration is short, and good survivors will take chases away from generators anyways.
I've never seen anyone get value from this perk.
I remember one time Otzdarva got value from it in old Haddonfield the Strode house gen as Bubba. That was literally the only time I have ever seen the perk have any value ever.

I don’t mind it too much but prestige levels should probably be hidden at least for killers. All it does is encourage dodging because “obviously if they are P100 they have to be gods at the game”

Just because its a console killer doesn't mean anything, I have faced pc killers that bled people out for zero reason a lot of the time. So I don't really understand your point by even bothering to mention the console aspect for all you know it was a epic games player. It's just bizarre yes it sucks, but don't take it out on us console players lol the whole thing against console players is just stupid.

DS is currently useless right now, so there's that.
DH is useless to a large portion of the Survivor playerbase, myself included.
Iron Will kinda got killed.
Eruption was an absolutely ridiculous perk and it was a lynch pin holding the gen kicking meta together. It's still a fine perk after it's nerf, especially if they take feedback from the PTB and buff it to be 10% of total progress.
Iron will is amazing in no exhaustion builds, countered by certain perks, but the 75% does make you really hidden, what I use is distortion, lightweight, iron will, and clairvoyance so I can window tech. Easily helps me extend chases while being off-meta.

Not even Trickster got this much hate be real here and Deathslinger looks about as human as he can be except he's tall that's really the only defining thing about him. She fits her aesthetics just as well, she's a rich girl who gets off on murdering people and uses advanced science to do so. She looks like someone who does that. She enjoys a hunt and she's dressed for the occassion
No, trickster did get this much hate were you even on the forum during the release? There were 10 posts each day about how the aesthetic isn't really scary. The killer just doesn't look very scary I would have liked this killer to be similar to spirit where she doesn't look natural like a cyberpunk-inspired look would have been so amazing. :/

I mean not even trickster got this much hate on release (Btw people did complain abt Spirit and Susie lol). People call her design generic and bland yet we got deathslinger who just wears a brown coat yet somehow hes so amazingly designed not one person complains abt him lol
Deathslinger looks cool and fits his aesthetic she doesn't look cybernetic enough. The design is not as inspired as the other designs, making her look more normal, similar to a trickster. From the trailer, people thought this would be our first robotic female killer, not an engineer killer. Is it just me, or is it not surprising to see why people are disappointed? Deathslinger doesn't look human and he is pretty creepy a better example would be trickster who suffers from the same exact complaints.
-
I am happy its another female killer, but she isn't really that scary if im being honest. Reminds of me of trickster.
-
I'm so sorry to start the cycle of complaining about complaining about complaining, but please, can you all just stop complaining? (lol)
I just hate how people just start a loop of complaining. If you know what I mean, can we make one thread and stick with that? Like yeah yeah, eruption got over-nerfed, but we don't need 50 threads about how nerfed it got or how it deserved it, or how people complain too much.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/364463/rework-nurse
I myself do not understand how it was possible to add a killer who does not care about the very concept of the game, where he simply excludes 90% of the survivors and can abuse his auras. The same spirit cannot see the aura when using the ability then why is the nurse so imba. She doesn’t care about windows and pallets, she flies any magnifiers and gets free hits on survivors, I’m glad that the developers paid attention to the nurse, but unfortunately they didn’t weaken her, but only strengthened some addons. Absurd
That is just being more than disingenuous. The rework completely got rid of 4 of her best addons, nerfing 6 addons in total 3 addons were slightly tweaked to be a bit better due to the complete removal of 4 addons that were really strong, 2 addons were reworked, 1 being really difficult to use and 1 is way more fun than it used to be. Though, now, the Nurse has lost 4 of her best addons, range, and recharge and no longer can use 13 perks. So please go ahead and tell me how this was a buff. :)

Use something like Equalizer APO or Sound Lock to turn on a compressor on your audio output to help with these issues
Yeah it's a shame, but it's better than BHVR encouraging people to damage their hearing by turning up the volume to hear pain noises. Your ears are precious and very fragile.
I play on a console, this is not an option for me. (I don't think, at least.) Though I am sure this will help people struggling on PC, so I do appreciate the input.
-
Yes, but it's getting a bit unfun again I am looking forward to the new chapter bringing some new fresh air.
-
I would say im decent, but at the end of the day I am a console Nurse on an old console, I don't win all of my games and tend to have a few bad games with the good ones. So I don't think I can really compare to the PC Nurse players who have been playing for a long time.
Which also makes me curious I was very late to the p100 killers thing cause I don't have nearly the time as most people have, but I wonder if I am the first p100 ps nurse.
-
That sounds like a great buff to that, I honestly hope it happens.
Also I know this is random, but I wish they made a killer like the twins, but where a friend can join to play as the power lol. Like basically knight, but kwf. I know it's really really unbalanced, but I would love to play killer with my friends in public games.
